    Graphics are great but the story and treatment of the fans here is enough to give it zero.
    Some games are so bad at launch that they turn it around later on like with Fallout, I don't see anyway to save thing aside from a whole new DLC that is an alternative story... bad....just a bad bad game! At the time of writing this    Wow... If you loved the first Last of us avoid this at all costs.

    Some of the worst writing I have ever seen in a game. No respect for character development or the original story/lore. This seems like Druckman just doing what he wants giving **** all about if it makes sense or works within context. Predictable as hell, painfully linear and god awful execution. Avoid this garbage fire at all costs. If you need a good ps4 game to play, pick up Persona 5 Royal.

    Sem dúvidas um dos melhores jogos que joguei nos últimos anos. A história é simplesmente incrível, tem ação, muita tensão e é muito emocionante e triste. Uma excelente continuação do primeiro jogo.

Although being brutally beaten to death in front of Ellie is a slap to the face to the character and the fans. Joel & Tommy would’ve never been that complacent. The game play/mechanics are amazing, but I can’t get passed how Joel was killed. Then out of nowhere you play as Abby for 10hours!? Another slap to the face. Then to top it off Ellie let’s her go at the end. The motivation to excel in the game is to get revenge... and you let her go? Makes Ellie look weak and ignorant. Ellie lost everything... Joel (father figure), her gf (&JJ), 2 fingers bitten off (now she can’t play guitar), Tommy lost an eye, and SHE DIDN'T AVENGE JOEL!!!! That’s a slap to the face to Tommy’s character as well. She had no problem killing everyone else but the one person that started it all gets to go free? It was poorly written. I think they had some administrative issues within ND that was prolonging the release and they quickly slapped together this trash. I feel personally let down. As do many other gamers. I think the fact that this game was so horrible should reflect on Neil Druckman’s work ethic and it should cost him his job position at ND. He’s so out of touch with the characters, he should’ve never made a Part 2. I’m done with ND games. I hope they see this review..... YOU LET US ALL DOWN!… Expand

    they did well in the beginning ... after playing around 12 hours, I felt that it was not what I expected I stopped playing and I only ended up watching the cinematic on YouTube, thank God I did it because the end is ****

The best graphics from the current generation of consoles, although decently cut from the time of the trailer, is a normal plot, time-tested solid gameplay. But in all of this there is one BUT, and this is not even a continuation for the waiters, this is banal broken storyline curve from which there is only one question why shouldn't I must care?) Someone said that Drackmann was inspired by Nolan and therefore made such an arrangement of plot scenes and flashbacks. But it all reminds me of the level of some newcomer who decided not to shove something in.) Maybe it was such an idea that people cause a fifth point to be undermined, but the point of spoiling the work for the sake of this remains a big mystery to me) If you look at the whole storyline problem, then we have heroes from the last game, to which we have emotions and in this part there is a continuation about them in the form of flashbacks in front of the main plot of the game. And the question is why shove these flashbacks where one of the heroes has already left forever?) Here we look at these flashbacks, but there is no emotional response because the hero is already end. The second point, we have an antagonist who stands out half of the game, why shove it after what made it the antoganist of the game?) Not only doesn’t you want to play for so long because of bias, it’s annoying when the authors are trying to impose on us the idea that the antagonist is not so bad and that everything is not so simple in this sinful life) Again, to some extent, the intrigue is lost. And now all this crookedness strongly hits the rest of the positive part of the game. These problems, which are not the only ones, make a slurred game with incorrectly placed accents, which is why it is not interesting to look at old heroes, but simply do not care about new ones. На ее глазах из Джоэля выбили жизнь клюшкой . Она отправилась мстить . Убила просто невероятное количество людей . Но Эбби мы простим. И потеряем все .     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let me preface this review with my low score has nothing to do with politics. Everyone should have representation in gaming. I don’t want my review to be disregarded as a “review bomb” or that I’m a bigot for not liking the game. I wanna get the technical aspects of the game out of the way. Hands down this is one of the most beautiful games I’ve ever played. ND has crafted a beautiful world filled with detail. Every new scene makes you go “wow” The detail crafted into the world and the game is stunning. Characters look super detailed and you can really appreciate the effort that went into them when you look at the model viewer. Animations are so fluid and feel so natural. The way foliage moves and bends as your character walks through is crazy. So many times I’ve seen games where I try to do something in the world they’ve crafted and I can’t. So many times in this game have I said “I bet I can’t do X” to immediately perform X animation and it left me stunned. This game world looks and feels real. Hands down this game is a beautifully crafted technical masterpiece. That being said I did NOT buy the game for the visuals or the gameplay. For a game like this I consider it a plus if Its good or fun to play. TLOU1 had an amazing story with a lot of tedious moments and puzzles but its worth playing again and again just for the story. I find myself replaying TLOU1 and loving it even though how tedious some of it is. TLOU2 is about 24-26 hours long depending on how fast you move through it. Last of Us Part 1 is about 13-16 hours long. I mentioned that because in the TLOU1 I feel there is never a dull moment. The pacing is quick and keeps you engaged constantly. In TLOU2 it feels like it has A LOT of boring padding. There was so many times I said “please let this part be different.” “What’s the point of this?” “please stop padding the game and let’s just continue the story.” Let’s talk about the characters. TLOU1 has a small strong cast of characters. They’re all memorable and iconic. In the TLOU2 there were so many times I was like “who is this again” “why do I care about their death?” “We only saw them moments earlier and they had no development.” “why introduce new characters this late in the game? I don’t care about them.” I feel there are moments in the game that should be rearranged. We kill characters then get to know them as Abby. Shouldn’t it be the other way around so we feel bad about it? Most of Abbys friends feel the same. I couldn’t really remember if I had killed them as Ellie or not. They just felt pointless. The game feels packed to the gills with people and not in a good way. I killed so many people and felt nothing. It all felt pointless. Give me a small cast of characters and make me feel for them. Don’t make me kill 20 people and then show they had friends and family. That’s not the right way to tell a story at all. The reason Joel’s death is so hard hitting is because we journeyed with him across the country. We’ve been through hell with him. His death feels cheap and and is where the running start of the game trips and falls. When Abby kills Joel you burn like Ellie does. You want blood. How could ND just kill off such a well written character only to replace him with 4 that we have no time to get to know before they die? So you set off to kill Abby. Then the game switches your control over to Abby. At this point I honestly thought about stopping the game but continued. Honestly they should have taken an entire game to develop Abby and her friends. I wouldn’t have even been mad if this title was a spin off that didn’t have Joel or Ellie in it at all. This game has too many ideas to really do anything with. The bones of the story are okay though. The execution is not. Okay most of the gameplay is tedious and makes you beg for it to end and the story has A LOT of issues. So I ask what is the point of the game? Abby let’s Ellie live soooo many times just to be surprised to see her. It’s ludicrous. Ellie literally threw her happy family away with Dina just to kill Abby and then to not even kill her? Also what happened to Dina and JJ. you’re telling me they really cleaned out the house and moved? In a zombie filled world they packed the uhaul and just moved? Abby threw her life away for two people she knew for less than 2 days? Makes no sense. Lev and his sister were introduced too late to be meaningful. I honestly didn’t care for them at all. This game has too many “oh the humanity the tragedy of revenge!” Points in it and feels pretentious. And the end of the game I just felt hollow and disappointed and unfulfilled. I kept saying “what was the point of this game?” They didn’t need to make this game. I feel like I wasted my time and games shouldn’t make you feel like that. You should feel accomplished for beating it not empty. This is not worth a buy IMHO.… Expand

    Loved the first game, intact it was my favourite game of the PS3 era. Been looking forward to this for years and when it got delayed a months ago was bitterly disappointed., but nowhere near as disappointed as I am now after playing this horror show!

    The way that Joel has been sacrificed in this game is criminal, you don't even get to play as him. Barely 2 hours into the game he get killed off it the most ridiculous way possible by a character you then have to take the role of. Abby isn't even a likable character.

    This killing is equivalent of having Obi Wan killed off by Jar Jar Binks in star wars, or Marty Mcfly Beaten to death by biff in Back to the future, it just doesn't make sense!

    The only redeeming for this game is th that graphically it is outstanding, but that really is its onky saving grace    … Expand

    One of the best games of the generation. If you are mature and experienced enough on stories like this, you will love it. Characters are deeply developed (with some minor exceptions). Gameplay, voice acting, graphics and fluidity are top notch. Truly a one of a kind game.

    So the pro's to this game are the attention to detail, from the graphic way of killing people to the pure genius of the sound design IE hearing people gargle on blood as they die or their friends calling out in anger/grief for them or just the sheer atmospheric music. The graphics are amazing and seeing someone's brains splatted on a wall after a head shot is an impressive feat of graphics.

    HOWEVER
    Based on how violent and brutal the way you can kill people is, that can also be a drawback. It's traumatising the first time you kill one of the dogs let alone if like me you accidentally pressed the wrong button and bashed ones head in with the big hammer.

    NOW THE CONS.

    The story, i mean like really, what did they think was going to happen when they decided to make this the story plot. They kill off Joel, the character that we adored from the first game and the dynamic he and Ellie had in the first game was just obliterated with a gold club (He deserved better)
    The way Abby is like Guess when asked who she is like Joel would have any idea who she is. TO THE FACT THAT THEY MAKE YOU PLAY AS ABBY FOR AT LEAST 10 HOURS IN PART 2 OF THE GAME. Like they give you a character to hate like really hate and then they go, here play as this character to try and make you understand her reasons and sympathise with her. which is impossible to do, like at all. Then we get to the ending, Abby lets Ellie go in a way to make you feel like shes changed and is worthy of any forgiveness you may of given her while playing her character (still made no difference to me) but then you get to the very end and it Ellie just beats her to a pulp, looses her guitar playing fingers in that fight too and then lets her go after a flash memory of Joel as if the game is trying to say, Joel wouldn't of just killed her straight away (we know from the first game he wouldn't of hesitated). That was very lack lustre for me and I understand the games reasoning of like its a revenge story that turns into Ellie's grow story at the end but like it just did not win my heart over ending the game that way. Like Ellie through away her relationship with Dina and her kid to go "finish it" to then just not do what she was going to do. what was the whole point of showing the house section of the game knowing Ellie just gonna mess it up in the end for no reason.

    Overall, The visuals and the sound are incredible, the extra game mechanics like crawling, the extra crafting options, swimming, the puzzle type ways to get through a building are all amazing and that is why this game gets a 7 from me.

    It does not get any higher than that due to the disaster of the story-line.

    Also, just to clarify should any media want to take my slightly negative review and say its due to the progressive characters in this game. I fully support people in general no matter race, gender, sexual preference. As long as you are not hurting anyone else, I care not for what you look like, what you identify as or who you date.    … Expand

In other words, you have to look at how the story progresses the way they try to tell a story and what they are trying to tell us indirectly (underlying meaning) instead of just looking at what you wished would happen and how you feel about a certain event. I like how the game rewards the players for exploring every little corner with notes that enriches the story furthermore. They have background stories for almost anything; instead of just showing the outcome they offer the events that happened prior to it making it a much more immersive story experience.

    From people just giving pure herd-like hate to people that did not finish the game, I am disappointed to see the gaming community become as toxic as the people they were against.

    Not as good and impressive as the last one (of course) but it is still a great game and I would definitely recommend it for anyone that does not have a weak stomach.    … Expand

Beside spoiler alert, in my opinion this game cannot have a 0 or 10 score, there are positive aspects that do not allow me to give it 0 and there are also, negative things that block me from the 10. let's get into it and why i don't go over 6 overall:

    Graphics: This is the best aspect of the game for me. The evolution it took from the first game as expected, mostly on the environment level. It is like cotton candy for a mouth, it melts your eyes, from the darkest zones in the city of Seattle to the country side of Ellie's house with Dina, it is superb.

    Voice Acting: Well, this a second if not equal to the graphics in score. Troy Baker, we get less of him on this second game but, well, top notch as usual. Ashley Johnson, Jeffrey Pierce, Shannon Woodward, Stephen Chang, they all do an awsome work also. The surprise (which is not from her career and talent) is Laura Bailey, that even if you do not like Abby character, Laura performance makes you like it at the same time. Wonderfull.

    Soundtrack: Gustavo Santaolalla does not desapoint. I could say the that environment sounds are not that great(could have more detail), and the key moments of the game, where the drama hits hard, could have a more heavy impact music, but that does not lower the quality overall. The cover songs and the guitar songs are wonderfull to watch/hear and will imprint in your memory.

    Gameplay: This is not negative, but not too positive also. From a TLOU player, they do not change a thing. It's not bad cause i enjoyed the first game, but i expected some type of evolution. like more fluid actions in combat or even actual choices in game progression for example.

    Story/Character Development: This is the key for me. Why? TLOU is a story driven game. It can have great graphics, music, acting, everything, but the game in the end, is a story driven game. This is also my opinion in the end. Everyone that is a fan, a true fan, cannot deny that the game falls short, for Abby surviving, and Ellie after losing everything, does not avenge Joel and ends alone... We watched a first game around Joel and Ellie, Where Joel would move the world to save and keep Ellie safe, but now, Ellie cannot do it. Let's be honest, Ellie like the game is made now, leaves in the air that the decision to spare Abby was due to what Joel would want for her, to release herself from the guilt and him and be happy without hatred. But if it was Joel in her place, every single one of them would have died without a second thought :) In my opinion also, the timeline is bad, i believe the game was more likeable if we alternate between Abby and Ellie more and not having that, torturing cliffhanger of Allie begging for Jimmy's life. I believe the purpose of the game, like it is, is to make you like Abby nevertheless what happened, so you can see her story, her choices, so you can accept her survival in the end. This is a creator decision, i won't argue with it, but has a fan, we expect to Joel, one of the pillars of the story of TLOU even dead now, to not go insignificant, like not being avenged after all he passed for Ellie, he didn't even had the chance to give his life for her (this could have been much better, having Ellie kidnapped to be killed by Abby and he dying to save her for example, could have been done). Joel dies to fuel the entire story, Let's be honest, Joel's death is the engine of this and ends with low closure for me. Anything could have happenned but Ellie needed to end this. I spent my fight with Ellie in the theater wishing to die so Ellie kills me, and the fight at the end trying to kill Abby without success... Has a TLOU fan this was my heart...

    In the end, we cannot argue with the superb technical quality of the game, and the director of the game is to be praised for this, but like everything, the success of a game is made by the players, not the technical analysts only. I honestly believe this game had to much influence from real world issues and less from what made the first game unique and nearly perfect. It is not an 8 or 9 because of this. The main aspect falls short, the story, not only the timeline construction but the expectations from the selling point, Ellie's revenge "of something".    … Expand

    The story is terrible. Naughty Dogs intentionally told the story in such a way to display how "artistic" they are. What they don't realize is that they have lost the ability to distinguish good stories from bad ones. The rest of the game is fine, but the story makes the experience unenjoyable.

The story goes the end of bad way, full of discrimination and complicate, hard to understand walk through, also main character's personality made it even worse than ever.     Throughout the story, which was very cool revealed to us from both opposite sides, you ask yourself questions like “What would I do in this situation?”, “If I could change something, would I do otherwise?”. All the emotions that come with these questions are priceless. You are disappointed, happy, proud, surprised by the actions of the main characters.

    The coolest thing is that the story of the Last Of Us 2 highlights the fact that everything is relative. The line between «good» and «evil» or “right” and “wrong” is often very difficult to distinguish. In many difficult situations you make decisions based on limited information. Often you make decisions that may seem right at a given time. That makes you think about it and move these questions into your real life. It hurts that people are only guided by their expectations of the game. I can't say that I’m an exception in these aspects. However, it‘s important to understand that all those issues for which the game is criticized are in our real life: LGBT, masculinity of female characters etc. It’s an integral part of our life. Why in the world of Last Of Us it had to disappear? Instead, you should ask yourself: why do I feel this way about this game? Yo jugué el primer the last of us en el año 2014 y desde que lo termine por primera vez siempre quise ir salga la segunda parte, al salir en la play store lo reserve de inmediato y la verdad me arrepiento estaba muy emocionado por algo que espere durante 6 años y mis amigos me decían que el juego era malo pero yo lo defendí a muerte hasta que al completarlo les di la razón. El juego en cuanto a gráficos y jugabilidad es de lo mejor que hay y de eso no cabe duda pero la historia y de la manera que controlaron los personajes no fue de mucho agrado, por ejemplo la historia más que post-apocaliptica era una serie de TV para adolescentes y el final del juego me dejó con rabia y con ganas de un reembolso la verdad , tmb metieron muchas escenas inecesarias como la de Dina y ellie fumando y besándose ( no tenga nada contra la homo sexualidad solo que no me pareció necesario en este juego) y tmb la escena entre Owen y la asesina de Joel (Abby), tmb me pareció horrible como Ellie lo trató como una basura a Joel todo el juego, y luego que muera D la manera que murió asesinado por una don nadie, la verdad hubiese preferido la muerte de Dona más que la de Joel pero eso es lo de menos el final es inexplicable porque al parecer Ellie se arrepintió de todo y la dejo marchar y la verdad la gran mayoría de jugadores querían matar a Abby. Y lo último y por lo ocupa el gran porcentaje de está calificación es el hecho de tener que manejar a Abby. Y yo te pregunto con que necesidad Naughty Dog? DE tener que manejar al personaje favorito de problamemente de millones de jugadores.. La verdad es algo que me deja impactado y tmb del hecho de tener que pelear contra Ellie siendo Abby, la verdad que me puse a llorar de la decepción y gaste plata para nada en algo que no me gustó para nada.     Graphics: 10/10 - Easily one of the best, if
    not the best looking game out there.

    Environment: 10/10 - The attention to detail was unreal, and the ability to recreate Seattle with extreme precision was remarkable. The subtle, “you have to pay attention to see it” details were the cherry on top of the sundae with this.

    A.I.: 7/10 - Still kind of clumsy. The zombies were still too easy to kill, even with the slightly more difficult combat system. I liked the different factions of enemies, rather than in the first game, where everyone was almost identical.

    Story: 5/10 - Nobody wanted Joel to go out like that. (or in my case, at all.) Having seen spoilers before the game released, I knew it was coming and came to terms with it beforehand. I think they dropped the ball having him die so early, and so quickly. Although it made sense, in terms of where they wanted to go with the story. Playing as abby for 10 hours of the game.... hated it. I figured “hey if I’m not gonna play as Joel, at least I can play as Ellie” but it didn’t happen. It left a bad taste in my mouth. Which wasn’t because I had to play as Abby, but because I wanted to play as Ellie, the character I had an emotional attachment with, not some random forced on me. I also might be in the minority about not killing Abby as well. I think (in terms of the story already laid out) that killing Abby wouldn’t of made as much sense as letting her live. I was upset as first about the ending, because first game Ellie would’ve killed her, just like first game Joel wouldn’t never been in the situation where he died. I gave it a couple days, and I’ve come to terms with those decisions.    … Expand

I wasn't happy but it was necessary and not pointless.
    This game had moments where i was physically effected by the drama happening on screen. I was afraid that the writers and the director were going to make me do things i didn't want to do. It was very hard but i trusted the story and just kept playing. After playing through the mid game twist you start to realize the underlying message. There are no heroes in this world and the choices we make have consequences.
    Last of Us 2 is a true sequel in the sense that this whole game is the fallout of the choice that Joel made at the end of Part 1 and by the time to get to the end you will be happy that good does prevail and the cycle of hate can be broken by an incredible gesture of empathy.
    This game took a BOLD chance by holding up a mirror to the player. the game forces you to face you biases and forces you to consider the consequences of our actions.
    If you are unable to look past the sexual preference of the main character( which was established in part 1) or if you cant enjoy the game because the message feels too "political" this is not the game for you. The team behind this game are not trying to force you to like certain things or agree with them. They are simply trying to get you to understand them even though you may hate them. Respect and understanding is what the characters in this story are missing and they suffer for it and it hurts to see them suffer. for those of you who have had the game spoiled and are hesitant to play let me just say this... The writing is Phenomenal and to trust the makers of the game to stick the landing.

There is a complete absence of a “feel good” conclusion; one could argue that there is no resolution of the primary conflict, at all. All of this is very unorthodox compared to typical fiction storytelling, and that is going to be distasteful — or even completely unacceptable — for a big percentage of this game’s potential consumers.

    If your primary reason for gaming is the narrative, then unless you have a very open mind, you’re unlikely to enjoy TLOU2. That’s a shame only because the rest of TLOU2 is fantastic.

    It is a technical masterpiece with incredible detail incorporated into all of the environments and encounters. The graphical design and execution is nearly flawless throughout. The physics feel tight and genuine — but not too unforgiving — in melee, ranged, and stealth combat. The lighting is a technical marvel, the sound effects are pristine, and the voice acting is top notch.

    In addition, there are vast number of accessibility, custom controller mapping, and gameplay options; they’re all surprisingly easy to adjust and use. These options have a wide variety of effects on lighting, color, UI, subtitles, and much more — far beyond anything I’ve seen from previous AAA games on PS4. These things enhance the game in a multitude of ways that most gamers won’t utilize, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t worth noting or praising.

    In summary, this is a game with exquisite technical qualities and functionality that honestly deserves high praise despite its flaws in storytelling. If this story was a novel, it would not be a good book. However, as a video game, it’s great. Don’t buy it if you’re not willing to deal with a twisted, sometimes illogical plot. Otherwise, I think you’ll regret not playing TLOU2 at some point this year.    … Expand

    I love this game! It makes you realise that everyone around you is a person who has his own feelings and experience. Another wise thought - violence creates more violence.
    Nevertheless, the gameplay seemed to me too easy. Also, the music wasn't so exciting.

    Don’t buy this game it ignores the whole reason the first game was enjoyed. I don’t want to play so long as this random chick who we already hate. What is the point of that trying to force you to emphasize with this random person when the whole reason the first game was good was the relationship between Joel and Ellie.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
