    I enjoyed some few parts, but for me it is too disappointing... You liked it? Good. I understand why some people would enjoy it, but this is not what i wanted.

    The risk does not always justify the means. this game is proof of that. It couldn't get any worse. I am not a tolerant Christian and this game is contrary to my beliefs.

I’m glad naughty dog wanted to try something different with the perspective of characters and it really developed the post apocalyptic very well through doing this; however, in some parts it went way too far. I didn’t mind playing as abby for the most part. As for joel dying, It was pretty sad how it happened so easily for him and it was pretty much fate. As the story unfolded, however, it was pretty clear that he deserved to die, at least Abby had good motivation to do so. Joel’s death really motivated me as well, to go kill every single person involved. I was so angry and furious and heartbroken, that when i played as Ellie seeking revenge i truly wanted to kill all of them, i didnt even care, i thought well, i don’t mind joel dying as long as i can kill every last one of them, to me his death would be worth it. Then we got to play as abby. Of course i disliked abby, but it was nice to see into the life of another community and see that they are very human. I think they could have made abby so much more likable though, she wasn’t even liked by her friends that much and i don’t know, i feel like if you make someone kill joel then make us play that character you better make that character even more likeable than ellie, and they kind of failed at that for me at least. Despite that, playing as abby was interesting and made me feel at least a little empathy for her, yet i still hoped for revenge against her which is why i didn’t mind playing as her. This was until my least favorite part of the game came...they made us play as abby, and beat the **** out of ellie. Honestly it was the worst part of the game for me and if this wasn’t in it i would have loved the game so much more. It upset me that the character i wanted revenge against the most beat up the character that was so beloved by me and the character i was rooting for throughout the game, and i had to do it. It was
    honestly so messed up to me. After that, i felt sick to my stomach and just wanted to stop playing. How does naughty dog expect us to like that part of the game? Why do they think our interests to beat up ellie would aline with abby’s when you showed her brutally kill joel? I was so disappointed and i just wanted to stop, but i continued. Honestly i just wanted to be over with it, but of course we got sent back to try and find abby, I’m not sure if i cared anymore, at this point i disliked the writers more than abby for making me do that to ellie. Then we finally find abby and we beat her but we decide not to kill her. I didn’t hate the ending but i can’t say i understood why ellie
    chose that...i think she realized joel really was a ****ty person and possibly took away the vaccine from man kind (based on the flash back that happened at the end) but she loved him too, and the reason she was even living was because of him and she knew that. I don’t know, honestly i wish we killed abby, but we both have gone through so much **** i don’t know if i even cared anymore.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First of all, the trailers sell a complete different game, it makes you think that this game is focused on Ellie and Joel, like the first one, but the reality is totally different. I feel fooled.

    For me the story is very important in games and in this games it is so poorly written, the characters that we know and we love are not there, it feels like the person who wrote the first forgot who they were. Joel could spot an ambush a mile away but in this game he trusts everyone without a reason and he literally throws himself to the wolves.
    The treatment he got was not deserved, he's just used as a plot device. All the things that made the part one so good are absent here, especially the ralationship between Joel and Ellie.

    Tommy forced Ellie to search for revenge when she was over it because he couldn't get it himself?! is this really Tommy?

    Then you are obligated to play as the Joel's killer for over 10h, and the game tries to force you into liking her giving you useless reasons that of course don't work.

    And at the end surprise there is a message, Ellie lets Abby go because vengeance doesn't give you anything instead it makes you loose everything. Really? It's weird because Ellie didn't get vengeance but at the same time she lost everything and even if she had the intention to break the cycle of vengeance, how many people did she kill before the confrontation with Joel's killer? One more person to her victims wouldn't have made a difference, even better, the game would have ended with ,the only reason that made me play all these hours with Abby, vengeance for the undeserved death of Joel.    … Expand

    definitely, is one of the best video games i ever played. First, the game-play is so good, it mix the action with the dynanism, making a really satisfactory (and inmersive) experience. Also, graphics are beautiful and very realistics. The attention to detail in this game is wonderful: the characters reactions, interaction with the environment, the looting realism, etc. Finally, the storydefinitely, is one of the best video games i ever played. First, the game-play is so good, it mix the action with the dynanism, making a really satisfactory (and inmersive) experience. Also, graphics are beautiful and very realistics. The attention to detail in this game is wonderful: the characters reactions, interaction with the environment, the looting realism, etc. Finally, the story is incredible, it allows to see differents perceptions and lifes and emphatize with each side in this game's world. A simple and complex story at once, there are a lot of things to analize in this game. Its'not a perfect story, but manages to tell it own message and that's the most important. Definitely, this is one of the most beautiful games of the history. A message for angry players: we dont have to criticize consumed by hatred, if you dont liked the game that's perfect, but The Last Of Us Part II doesnt deserve a 0.

    I’ve played this game 3 times so far and now i felt that i’m able to score it:

    The last of us Part 2 is amazing. I'm still playing the game and I'm amazed with everything, like in the first game. The graphics are amazing, the story is really cool and the characters are very remarkable. I don’t Know why all those bad reviews.

    As a gamer it's a very unique experience to play a game like the Last of Us Part 2. I needed to take a step back having finished the game about 3 weeks ago and think about the characters and what I experienced. Looking back I think it's very carefully written, this is not a a simple game with obvious character cliche's and you are not told what to think, the cues are subtle and It'sAs a gamer it's a very unique experience to play a game like the Last of Us Part 2.     If its not a last of us game, I will rate it higher. Its a average game with bad storyline. Visuals, voice acting & music are amazing but this is a story base game & story is bad. I love Tlou but part 2 is worst compare to part 1.

    A perfect game, the graphics, physics, gameplay, and most of the story were amazing. I admit it, the story was twisted in many ways but it was a roller coaster of emotions. GOTY!

Ellie's journey is one of the most heart wrenching and immersive experience you can play on the current gen of console. The addition of characters are well thought of that it really gives you a lot of perspectives in life. The game makes you recognize if you are the villain in the story. I also felt that if you didn't understand what or why these things happened in part 2 then you don't know anything about Last of Us at all.… Expand

Killing off one major character for shock value just to "launch" that **** revenge story. No hope in this game, just anxiety and depression. The characters weren't loveable, even those we knew from the first game. Oh wait, the only characters I cared about were Tommy and Owen. Critics aren't objective about this game and it makes me sick. And no, this game is far from being a masterpiece with tons of plot holes. It's an okay game at best. And it's definitely not GOTY. Now no wonders why everyone on ND abandoned ship! Not buying any more games from them, as they keep trolling fans on social media instead of just taking criticism and make better games.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Amazing! If you liked the first one then you’ll love this, it’s more of the same but bigger, faster, more detailed, more immersive! The story isn’t as good as the first one but it’s a different game, it does however feel like a continuation of the story from the first game and certain events that take place however terrible they may be you can perhaps understand why those involved wanted to do what they did! It’s by no means a bad story, it’s not bad at all it’s just different but still fantastic!! Makes you think is revenge ever worth it? The way the game invokes emotion is unreal, I had stopped playing a couple of times as it was all too much! I felt drained in the same way you’d expect the characters to be tired! Where in the first game you could strategically hide in one location for as long as you like whilst planning your next move, in part 2 they NPC’s are looking for you and will find you! This keeps you on your toes constantly! The gameplay is effortless and everything you want to do, can be done! On a technical level, it’s a masterpiece, i look at the reflections and although i know they didn’t use ray tracing, the reflections are just that good! The frame rate is solid 30fps in 1440p on the Pro and only the only time it ever dipped was when i was in water! Which i might add accounts for about 2 mins of the 30hours in game.
    This game is a must have, if you don’t get it then it’s you’re loss entirely! Honestly 10 out of 10 and possibly the best game of this generation and one of the top ten greatest games ever released!    … Expand

Nothing like I had hoped it would be,the game forces me to kill hundreds people and dogs then at the end when i finally have someone i want to kill they are protected by devs. Looks amazing but nothing else was that great, I had big fps drops and a couple crashes, I felt that I was not as free to go where or do missions as i had hoped for, I really wanted the combat to be changed or more offered i found it got old for me very fast, the way characters we have known just felt different/behaved differently then in last game. In the end i really thought i would be blown away from the story of the game and i was left disappointed.… Expand

    Disappointed with the story. Gameplay was great. Audio and Visuals were amazing. Accessibility features were great too. The game just falls flat for my experience with regards to the story. Huge disservice to the first game.

    When your video game doesn't get a SINGLE negative review from a critic, that's a major red flag. It's indicative of the fact that no one is actually stupid enough to believe you didn't already pay them off to put you in the spotlight.

    As for the game itself, absolute trash. Let's take one of gaming's most beloved anti-heroes and have him die in the dumbest way possible to some politically-correct she-hulk, and... just... good lord. I don't even know how else to put it. I thought this game was supposed to be about zombies and surviving, and finding new communities, and rekindling lost relationships. Instead you turned it into political commentary.

    Also the ending of the game is a freakin joke. Like one final kick in the balls from a developer that hopefully 'wins' worst company of the year.

    Save your money. If you think this game is good because it has 10,000 more positive than negative, then you're clearly not thinking straight. This game wouldn't be worth purchasing unless it was 50 cents.    … Expand

Everyone played till Joel died and then left a bad review cause their feelings got hurt. What people don't understand is that Joel is not the good guy in last of us. He is a bad person who made bad decisions. Everyone says this game is a revenge plot but its not. Yes, it may have started like that but in no way does it end like one. It ends as a forgiveness story. The story of this game is fantastic and in no way is it bad because Joel dies. I loved Joel as much as the next person but people are acting like he did nothing wrong. Joel's death was coming for him and he knew that. The gameplay of this game is also incredible. the gunplay feels so good and the way this game does scavenging and crafting is great. By no means is this game perfect and there are some parts of this game that drag on but overall this game is a 10/10 and people need to stop hating on it because their favorite character dies.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. What Naughty Dog has done with this game is nothing short of incredible whether you like it or not.

    Personally I am more on the "like" side. When I finished Part 1 I was left with questions and concerns just like many others. I think part of the reason why I really like Part 2 is because it addresses those concerns. Of course the game is not without it's flaws but what it does do it does masterfully in gameplay and sometimes in story.

    This game has actual consequences for character actions. The tone of the Last of Us as a series is gritty, it's real, it's dark. It's not like Uncharted. Nathan Drake is less likely to be faced with the consequences of killing a random soldier because that's not the tone of Uncharted. The Last of Us Part 2 made the end of Part 1 actually mean something, it actually held weight. The game puts you in so many uncomfortable situations on purpose. It makes you play as a character who brutally murdered one of the main characters, how is that not bold? I actually ended up liking Abby as a character through paying attention and having an open mind. The game is not about heroes and villains. Joel is not a hero. He's done bad **** We know this, it's inexcusable. The same goes for Abby. It's not cut and dry, not black and white, that's not the point. The game is supposed to make you feel uncomfortable for playing as Abby. And I did until I learned that her father was THAT doctor. Then I completely understood her motivations, doesn't mean she's right, but doesn't mean Ellie was either. If Ellie is "justified" in revenge for what happened to Joel then so is Abby for what happened to her father. It's not a new theme, it's the cycle of violence that leads to hatred. Even the sub narratives present worked well for characters. Yes of course it's convenient there's a trans side-character used for greater representation in the game but there's nothing wrong with that. He ended up becoming one of my favourite characters in the game because of how endearing he became through the gameplay sections.

    Having an open mind led me to even feeling bad for Abby by the end. The plot holes themselves are even minor. Ellie can kill a random npc aiming a gun at her but this isn't a random npc, this is someone she's chased down twice, and twice Ellie was spared by Abby. So by the end when she realized her PTSD doesn't just have to be Joel's bloodied face but instead his smile with a guitar she allows Abby to save Lev, knowing that she's bit she will die anyway. The way it deals with another beloved character having PTSD, the way at the end you as a player feel so empty, Ellie's house is also empty.

    This game is dark, it's brutal it's unforgiving but the way it was told and presented I actually loved. I loved how flashbacks are weaved in to make you feel more emotional post-Joel's death. But although that is the game does come with pacing issues. It's like Naughty Dog heard all the criticism about it's former games lack of gameplay and they said "ok how about this" and they turned it up to 11. This is ND's most ambitious game gameplay wise. Almost every encounter felt amazing even though some areas went on for too long. The game itself goes in incredible places, the updated mechanics make the gameplay feel so much better than the first game. The approach to difference situations are so much more flexible, reminding me of MGSV. Some areas can be so wide and sprawling, I greatly enjoyed exploring them for collectibles and resources. On Hard mode the combat felt somewhat balanced, depending on how i chose to fight i either ended up with too little ammo for the subsequent encounter or just enough. The game does not let up, and sometimes to a fault. Many times I thought the game would finally be over and end but it kept going. Even this new end area and enemies were really well thought out but because of the poor pacing it ended up feeling rushed.

    The scares in this game as so well thought out and unique. Just like the level design. The level and game design in this game is astounding, story completely aside. The way you make your way through the overgrown ruins of Seattle feels like it doesn't miss a beat, again to a fault. The skyscraper, the village, the aquarium, the theater, so many excellently designed areas that are used so well. So many "oh **** moments. Like the sniper part, a nice nod to the sniper section in the first game at first, you can't see who the sniper is but they're good. Eventually you start to hate them because they're so hard to kill. Until the end of the section when you realize who they are it because nothing short of an incredible moment.
    Graphics and accessibility options are also top tier. Naughty Dog once again proves it is the king of cinematic storytelling and environmental design. Love it or hate it, TLOU2 is one of the most bold and audacious games ever created.    … Expand

    I have no words to describe this masterpiece seriously, a game so real, with so many nuances, it really is not for all kinds of people this game but for people who are already mature and who have a lot of empathy for people, a wonderful story with cruel reality, every detail they put into this game made it so unique and so majestic, without a doubt the best game of the year.

Maybe just maybe I was being deceived by all the videos Ive seen. But sadly no, the grapics are what you would expect in 2020. The gameplay is boring at the best moments and just painful ro play though in others. II mean I already knew what I was walking into when I purchaced the game after a the videos and negative reviews. But I thought it would only be fair to judge the game myself. Maybe just maybe I was being deceived by all the videos Ive seen. But sadly no, the grapics are what you would expect in 2020.     I am ultimately disappointed in the story, it is what draws it completely down for me. Gorgeous game, great mechanics with few flaws and in general great gameplay. But the story it self is just killing the game.

    Also - the decision to have a heavily pregnant woman travel out into hostile territory on patrol and have her climbing about and fighting etc. was... well just plain weird. I'm all for body positivity - but that was completely insane.

    I don't have a problem with any of the characters themselves and disagree with most of the negative reviews. But some of the writing is definitely just plain bad.

    Very much hope TLOU3 can be a thing. It's a great world that deserves more storytelling.    … Expand

I found myself dreading moving forward because of the character's decisions that I know are not morally right, but I get it and move forward. The entire game is about the revolving circle of revenge and how nobody wins when seeking revenge.

    My biggest gripe with the game was the super slow beginning, but once the big change happens in the story when you get a new POV, is when the game really picks up.

    I found myself liking the Abby character and her story, here internal moral dilemmas, and her external moral dilemmas, more than Ellie's, which I think has turned a lot of people off of the game, but refused to even give the game a chance to make you care about the new characters.

    As for people who are being transphobic because of the inclusion of a Trans Character, the story doesn't even try to ram anything down your throat, but it does give a glimpse at someone's struggle as a trans person. But if you want to deprive yourself of this great story because you're worried about your transphobia, your really doing yourself a disservice, but you probably don't deserve this experiance.    … Expand

    I liked the quality of the AI for the stealth mission aspect of the game. How the enemy looks for you is better than any other game that I've played.
    Also I liked the feeling the bigger maps give compared to TLOU I. For moments it felt as an open world game.

You spend barely any time with the characters from the first game (and EVERY trailer for the second) instead being forced to play as the    NOT AS ADVERTISED AT ALL!

This is not a continuation of the first story at all, but instead feels like a bad spin off set in the Last of Us universe. You spend barely any time with the characters from the first game (and EVERY trailer for the second) instead being forced to play as the antagonist in a veil attempt at empathy or sympathy or god knows what. However, not only is Abby unlikable after the first 90 seconds on screen, but the narrative only continues to pile on the unlikable traits the more you play. At one point I was just continually and consciously jumping from a cliff to death for the small slice of joy seeing Abby's skull hit the rocks below. The split narrative is redundant and just detracts from both stories resulting in the end product feeling like an amalgamation of two short, bad DLC spin offs, instead of the true sequel it's intended to be.

    Game-play wise, it's much of the same from the first game. Look around, scavenge, hide, shoot. I don't mind it tbh but it does get repetitive after 7/8 hours. The boss fights were really underwhelming not providing much difficulty nor variation other than taking more damage than normal. There were also a few forced moments that were dumb, for example: a certain group of WLF deserters that you are forced to kill, even when one gives up and begs for mercy as the game will not continue without pressing the prompt. The added mechanics of jumping and dodging are so refreshing (for this game, obviously not gaming in general). I was impressed with the character animations as well. The way they fidget and twitch was a particular highlight and really adds to the realism. The graphics are great too.

    The story is just a mess. I mean where to start? As a linear game play narrative I'm genuinely surprised how it could feel so inconsistent. The cast make plain nonsensical decisions that not only go against their own established character but some even defy common sense. The big end story revelation is completely deaf to it's own plot as Ellie has just murdered her way through dozens if not hundreds of randoms, and some innocents, only to suddenly feel remorse for the one person in the entire game it would have actually made sense to kill. Not only for the character, but for the underling theme of the entire franchise - that actions have consequences... but not for Abby it seems.    … Expand

    I loved it, graphics were amazing, gameplay was exciting, and i like the risk they took with the story, while it was a little bit off putting half game, i got really invested in the characters and the outcome, Abbys levels in my opinion were the most intense (especially the hotel), i want to see where these characters go next.

Story was poor wasn’t interested in Abby. Graphic and combat animations were very nice but I think the shooting mechanics need an upgrade doesn’t feel realistic. Gameplay is a little weak, many missed opportunities to utilise Ellie's immunity by incorporating it into the combat. The story is poorly written, the characters are bland and inconsistent. The characters feel like a puppet to the narrative rather than driving the plot forward themselves. The sequence of events are poorly managed and remove from the climax.     O jogo é muito bom. Gostei bastante do gameplay que foi melhorado nessa sequência.
    A violência do jogo pode ser desconfortável para alguns, eu não tive problemas ao jogar.
    O único problema é pra que não jogou o the last of us "1" que vai se perder na história do jogo. Mas eu recomendo ótimos gráficos e jogabilidade muito boa.

Too bad that people do not understand and do not want to understand what Neil drukmann tried to do and something new in the narrative and who did not understand it is not his fault but just needs time, which then may not like but honestly I think that I am the most beautiful final ever the motivations of the characters who are alive have their own idea and ideologies and if you do not reflect yourself and why you do not live there in that world it is difficult to understand what to do in such a situation but a choice is a choice and no one can know which is the best choice for this it is better to live with it and have no regrets. Eventually ellie forgave Joel and hers was not a journey of vengeance but of forgiveness. In a word, a masterpiece. Sorry for my inglish I am Italian… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I’ll start with the positive then proceed with the negative.

    Positives-

    The graphics are excellent. I would slow down my gameplay just to take in the scenery.

    Negatives-

    The game play is repetitive with very few new enemy challenges.

    This game was delayed and still had bugs where people would spawn often right beside me.

    The characters you play don’t develop. They are mostly angry, bitter, and thoughtless, but for a few moments of humanity.

    You have no options to make decisions which makes it feel like your forced do things not in Ellie’s character. I would sit there and not press the button the game was indicating I press. Its the first time playing a game I thought, this is miserable. Unfortunately, it’s just a downward spiral for her character.

    Abby is an unlikeable angry person who cheats with a guy who’s girlfriend is pregnant. He’s an unlikeable POS too. Their whole group is unlikeable. Being forced to play her character was not fun. I rushed through her sections of the game which unfortunately is a huge part of the game. She does one good thing and I guess we are supposed to feel like she has been redeemed. Nope. Also her father is a unethical doctor who didn’t inform his patient he was going to kill her before being he put under anesthesia. Abby is an angry sociopath and her deceitful father got killed because of his own horrible decisions. Joel prevented Ellie’s murder.

    It was apparent early on revenge will take more than it gives. But that is the core of the story and repeatedly reinforced ad nauseam. This drives the plot to nowhere. Nothing was gained by the experience. We literally end with less family, less digits, less purpose than when we began which I understand is the point but what a disappointing experience. Its like GOT or the SW trilogy. When your ending is bad it ruins everything that comes before. I replayed the first game twice. This game has no replay value.

    We get the point. Revenge is bad.

    Red Dead Redemption 2 is an excellent game because the characters have story arcs. They change and develop and realize life doesn’t have to be misery. This game begins with misery, with some misery in the middle, a blip of hope, then a strong miserable ending.

    In summation. Excellent job and creating a graphically beautiful game. Boo for releasing a game with bugs still in it even after a delay. It’s misery and depression with amazing graphics.    … Expand

    The game was absolutely outstanding. Parts of the game were controversial throughout the community but the graphics, gameplay, and story were all amazing.

    I finished the game 3 days ago, and I can't stop thinking about it. I don't think I ever feel this way about a game. This game touch on subject that even 13 Reasons Why failed to delivered. It's a very risky move, because I don't think many players would get it. It's not just simply about breaking the cycle of violence, it's a bout how people deal with personal trauma and healing.

    One of the best games visually. Actors have done a great job considering the weak storytelling. The gameplay is almost identical to the original and it feels like you are playing a fine tuned version of the original. Unfortunately the warm story beats of the TLU is no where to be found. Its dark for the sake of dark, and tries so hard to be woke. But in the end result is mediocre at best.

    Increíble, es el mejor juego que he jugado, narrativamente tiene mucha a su favor, fácilmente el mejor juego de PS4 y perdertelo será uno de los mayores errores de tu vida, no creas los 0 y 1 de los demás jugadores ardidos, tiene tanta filosofía que si eres capaz de entender lo valorarás tanto y apreciarás toda su verdadera historia. Una obra maestra narrativa y como juego.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
