    Storyline is awful. Neil Druckmann made no sense of it and the game was devoted purely to political correctness more than a likable plot. Shame on him.

    It's a masterpiece!
    The story is an exceptional journey similar to the early season of Game of Thrones.
    The graphics is gorgeous and the gameplay is visceral!

    Very challenging, heart-breaking, and gut-wrenching story coupled with viscera, desperate and brutal gameplay. It continues the story of Part I with honesty and sincerity. This game is very bleak and will often make you feel miserable, but there is a bright spot at the endd.

    Last of Us 2 is a beautiful game whose potential was squandered by poor narrative design. Ignore complaints about LGBTQ matters, or who dies when, or ‘agenda-pushing’. That is all nonsense that distracts from the fundamental flaws of this game which are:

    Pacing. (Severely padded gameplay, slow pace with nothing to show for your time and sudden complete halts.) Order of events. (This game    Last of Us 2 is a beautiful game whose potential was squandered by poor narrative design. Ignore complaints about LGBTQ matters, or who dies when, or ‘agenda-pushing’. That is all nonsense that distracts from the fundamental flaws of this game which are:

    Pacing. (Severely padded gameplay, slow pace with nothing to show for your time and sudden complete halts.)

    Order of events. (This game often shows scenes or has you play events out of order and suffers for it. It manages to spoil itself within twenty minutes of starting the game and interrupts high-tension moments with many hours of past events that no longer matter.) Character development. (Or lack thereof. They come close to it for one character, briefly, but it rings false (and is called out as such by another character) due to that character otherwise always presenting as self-centred, callous and ruthless. Other characters start at Point A and never leave it or change in any way. Characters in general do not learn from their mistakes, big or small. Some characters have sudden, unexplained personality shifts.)

    Chemistry. (There is none. This likely due to all of the above factors. A couple who come close are let down by bizarrely awkward lines and sudden topic changes, as though a clumsy editor cut whole chunks of conversation out. The main ‘romance’ starts at the beginning of the game and tries to sell us that they totally love each other, because... they just got together. Frustratingly, only a few minor changes could have fixed this.)

    Plot. (The story is simple and that isn’t always a negative thing. But, when the story is simple, sub-plots become critical. This game really only has one sub-plot, towards the end (which was well done). The lack of it throughout most of the rest of the game makes the (beautiful) world around you seem empty and pointless. The simple main story is laughably predictable (when it doesn’t spoil itself outright) and utterly fails to engage.)


    Ultimately, this game is boring. Don’t bother buying it. Find some poor fan who is giving their copy away and try to just enjoy pretty skyboxes and passable stealth combat mechanics.    … Expand

    Výborně propracovanou grafikou a rozmanitými lokacemi, vykresluje konec civilizace 2013, kterou rozprášila nezvládnutá pandemie, kde mezi lidmi neplatí žádné zákony a vše závisí na vlastních hodnotách o které můžete snadno přijít.     Postavy jsou propracované do posledního detailu a hráč se s nimi seznamuje až do konce hry. Vyprávění je systematické, přesto jedno dohrání většinou nestačí k objevení všech detailů příběhu a pochopení postav, které hra nabízí. TloU Part2 je adekvátní pokračování, oblíbeného prvního dílu, který již příběhově dospěl, podobně jako postava Ellie, která začíná žít svůj vlastní život a hledá své místo pod sluncem...    … Expand

    By far one of the best games I have ever played. The variety of detail is by far the best any game has ever offered. The game play is superior to the original. The story is a masterpiece. Naughty Dog I love you!

    The game is enjoyable and a great story i know some people where angry when Joel died at the beginning such as me but he's presence can be seen at the game. The 2020 game of the year award is gonna be a tough one and when cyberpunk is just a many days to go

    Story of the The last of us part II was so strong and difficult to digest, and as Neil Druckmann said this game is about hate, the story had the best ending. The game environment was very natural and alive.

    game is sub par at best gots good graphic minimal replay value and story is agenda driven and points out what should not be in games the story was disappointing and the plot points were the worst in a game and the mechanic's was not polished and smooth i give this game a 4/10 at best for it's lack of being a sequel to it's predecessor.

It has a great story, deep characters, and fun gameplay. It can be an emotional game to play, but well worth it.     El juego realmente me ha decepcionado, y aun varios días después de su lanzamiento no me quito de la cabeza la insultante trama que han hecho. Además de una publicidad previa engañosa con " la continuación de la historia de Ellie y Joel" , que todos sabemos que de eso no tiene nada, han hecho una trama traicionando a la saga ya que a las dos hora desaparece dicha oportunidad de volver a juntar a la pareja más querida, con un giro en la trama insultante, sin sentido, y sacado de la manga. Para colmo, que el personaje de Manny ( la representación de Neil Druckman, ya que se le parece muchísimo demasiado) escupa a Joel, me parece un insulto y un desprecio hacia los fans. Luego, el personaje de Abby, un personaje que por culpa de la mala estructuración de la trama se te hace imposible conectar con ella, tenemos que controlarla durante casi medio juego, lo cual después de lo que ha hecho se hace muy tedioso. También, despues de matar a tantos seraphitas con Abby y formar pareja con Lev, nos damos cuenta que intentan darle una figura cómo la de Joel y Ellie dando a entender que es un intento de asemejanza para los fans, aunque consigue todo lo contrario y acaba siendo insultante. Por otro lado, además de hacernos ver a Joel cómo un ser malo y despreciable durante casi todo el juego y a Ellie como una loca sanguinaria, hacia el final del juego nos hacen pegarle una paliza a Ellie a manos de Abby después de haber matado a Jesse y a Tommy ( al menos eso pensamos en ese momento) haciendo que nos den ganas de tirar el mando contra la tele. Y por último , la aparición forzada de la nada de Tommy para incitar a Ellie a vengarse y la conclusión de los hechos , dejando a entender además otra vez, que Joel era malo y que nunca dejó decidir a Ellie ( los luciérnagas tampoco la dejaron decidir, pero bueno...el mal guión) hace que el final te dejé con un muy mal de sabor de boca y que junto a la excelente y melancólica banda sonora de Gustavo Santa Olalla te cuestiones, porque han hecho esto ? Porque han tomado esta dirección de juego ? Porque han jodido así a un personaje y a una saga... Porque ? Al menos los flashbaks de Ellie , el Gameplay y la BSO hacen algo pasable el juego sin embargo me es imposible dar un aprobado , porque en este juego no buscaba Gameplay , buscaba historia y ojalá que Naughty recapacite de tanta queja hay de este juego y haga algo al respecto....    … Expand

    Absolute technical marvel, a masterclass in deep, emotional story telling, and excellent game play.
    The Last of Us Part 2 kept me engaged from start to finish in a way that few recently released games have been able to achieve.

BUT The Last Of Us is a story-driven game and therefore the focus of this review should be on story too. The new title also claims to be a sequel to the well beloved first installment, but I have to disagree. This is not a sequel. This is a big fat middlefinger to the first game and everyone who loved it. Where the first game was about overcoming grief as a father and finally finding someone to love and care for again, therefore ultimately the relationship between Joel and Ellie, the second one takes all these wonderful things and completely throws them out the window to tell a tale we've all heard a hundred times if not more. Whoever these characters are supposed to be, they're not the protagonists of the former game. Not the characters we were all so excited to meet again after waiting 7 years for it. These are just empty vessels, puppets pulled by Neil Druckmann, who completely ran this game into the wall blinded by his "incredible revenge story "vision. I had to force myself to play through I'd say 60% of the sequences in this game. There were some slivers of greatness but they were drowned out by the overall dulling down of the character's senses (people who were rather smart both logically and emotionally before, act like highschool teenagers in classic 80s horror movies now), the absolutely confusing derivation of the many many timelines, the reasoning behind the writer's decision making is very hard to follow. My understanding is the wanted to tell a very profound revenge story. But they way they went at this, I would not call this a story at all and certainly not a worthy successor to the first Last Of Us. I had high hopes for this, I ignored the leaks and ducked the spoilers thinking "Only douchebags would leak and spoil like that.." and now after having to force myself to play through the epilogue I realized, someone wanted to warn us of this absolute pile of garbage that is being marketed as a masterpiece. Sometimes you have to look at things from a different perspective and be open to new experiences - how boring would this medium be if every developer stuck to the same story tropes or only looked to please fans.     After playing the game with an open mind - despite the negative reviews - i gotta say the green reviews must be paid. there is just no other explanation who would give this game a really positive review espiecially the dumb forced storyline. It is like a Netflix game. Grapichs are really great tho.

    The graphics are amazing. The gameplay is fun. The story is complete dog **** I can't even rationalize how they came up with this narrative. I'm honestly shocked that Naughty Dog would release this game. I will never purchase another game that neil druckmann directs. That was more disappointing than any other game I've ever played.

    A game i had absolutely no interest in, being a die hard fan of the prior title and hearing nothing but the worst for this one. However, once i finally sat down and played it a dew months after, i was absolutely amazed at how brilliant this intimate narrative of love and loss actually was. The game is not perfect, its bloated and paced inconsistently with some bits of dialogue that feelA game i had absolutely no interest in, being a die hard fan of the prior title and hearing nothing but the worst for this one. However, once i finally sat down and played it a dew months after, i was absolutely amazed at how brilliant this intimate narrative of love and loss actually was. The game is not perfect, its bloated and paced inconsistently with some bits of dialogue that feel like they needed a pass over in the editing room, but none of this even comes close to diminishing the immensely powerful journey that deals with incredibly heavy themes. Its absolutely not a game for everyone, and in fact I can understand so many players finding it hard to enjoy or sit with. The closest i can book piece of fiction i could compare it to would the works of author cormac mccarthy, primarily the road or no country for old men. In terms of film, the nightingale. Its a beautiful piece of art that not only depicts the bare face of human depravity and barbarism, but it also shows the resilience to find hope in the despair integral of the human condition. By no means is this a game i recommend everyone try, but i can hardly think of a game as emotionally resonant as the last of us 2.… Expand

Then a sequel was announced and I thought: Ok, this just can't go wrong. In the following years I avoided any trailers, articles, friends gossips, you name it. I'm glad I did, because if I hadn't, I'd be even more pissed.
    I'm not gonna write another review since there are plenty and I think that everyone who loved Part 1 for it's brilliant narrative can understand my disappoinment. I think it's a shame that so much potential has been wasted.

    I dont mind violence in games but the tlou2 is just sickening and revolting.

    I would NOT recommend this game to my worst enemy.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us Part 2 is a sequel unlike any other. It's a true masterpiece. And no, i don't think that this it's just a revenge story. I think it's also a story about hope and survival. The writers did an amazing job on the storytelling (except I would have liked Abby's part of the game to be not as poorly written).
    Game play: 9/10 - Amazing except for the few rare bugs here and there
    Graphics: 10/10 - The graphics in The Last of Us 2 are just amazing. The attention to detail has never been this good in any video game (just my opinion).
    Music: 10/10 - The music for The Last of Us 2 was also incredible, and I feel like it set a very high standard for video game music to come.
    Overall: 9/10 - This is due to some bits of the writing that I thought too much was put into (in some cases, lack of thereof), and also the rare bugs and glitches here and there.    … Expand

    The complexity of the characters has been destroyed. Joel's character has devolved. Abby is one dimensional. Ellie is one dimensional. Just pass on the game. At some point the message has to be heard: you have to tell a good story to get people to buy your media. Loved LOU1. I'll have to find a way to scrub 2 to keep 1 great. :(

It’s uncomfortable to play in all the best ways. It's a tale about wrath, forgiveness, hate and how emotions can cause people to lash out in anger. Ironic considering the backlash this game has garnered. The plot focuses on Ellie as she seeks vengeance against a girl named Abby after witnessing someone close to her murdered. We witness her go through everyone responsible. Then, after an altercation with Abby, developer Naughty Dog, throws a massive curveball. You now have to play as her! We discover Abby’s reasons for what she did and play through her attempts to regain some humanity. Right off the bat let’s address the big, massive, humongous elephant in the room. Playing as Abby after killing a beloved character is difficult. You want nothing more than for Ellie to put a bullet between her eyes. Yet Naughty Dog managed to get me to Empathise with her. Showing that a heroic act for someone can be a villainous act for another. For instance there’s this mission with a sniper. If you’ve played any third person shooter you know the deal. You can’t fire back, all you can do is get closer to them. They attract infected and make you take a ton of damage. You instinctively start to despise this sniper. However when you confront them. You realise it’s actually a character you like. It’s details like this that make The Last Of Us Part 2 special.… Expand

Either political or purchased, their reviews were clearly bought. The discrepancy between "journalists" and players should tell you something. And it's not good. Speaking of, the only thing this game has going for it are the graphics, which are gorgeous. Literally everything else is terrible.
    First off, the gameplay is exactly the same from 2013, despite multiple delays. I mean, you can now jump, but only when the game deems appropriate. I hope you like a lot of cut scenes with button timing events, because there are plenty.
    The characters make terrible decisions and are replaced by someone I could not care less for. Forget the SJW crapfest, Abbey is poorly written and a 10 minute backstory doesn't make up for the slaughter of a beloved character and the ruination of another.
    That leads to the worst part of this abomination: the story. I can't clearly describe the amount of plot holes, bad lines, and horrific story writing in this glorified movie of a game. You will cringe and yell "you gotta be kidding me!" time after time after time. Characters, especially Ellie, act completely different. For example, she goes on a revenge-fueled killing spree, only to give-up at the end and let the man/girl who killed Joel go. In fact, she helps her escape. What??
    Just kidding. The absolute worst part is the graphic sex scene between Abbey & Owen, complete with bent over back dooring. It is just terrible and adds nothing more than unbelievable gratuitous shock value. And if you're wondering. Owen is Neil Druckmann without a beard. I just cannot make this up.
    Make no mistake, if you loved the first game, this will leave you with the worst aftertaste. Neil Druckmann ruined this game with his ridiculous agendas & needs blacklisted from the industry. It is truly that bad. And Sony, what the hell were you thinking? You should have stepped in and stopped the madness way before it went this far.    … Expand

    okey I just played this game until the end, the game is not bad. But it does not enjoyable at all because of the writing and the story. Maybe I can tolerate the game if I don't have to played as Abby. Very much hate that experience till the end. Thank you Mr. Neil Druckmann for ruining the game with your **** story and writing.

Joel doomed humanity but at least you could say he gained a daughter but no he dies thinking that Ellie hates him until the end. Ellie loses everything and ends up alone which makes her story pretty pointless. Abby’s story was so boring I almost didn’t want to continue playing, literally nothing about her worked.… Expand

However, saying it is a political statement and it did not match the trail is stupid. Obviously they aren't going to tell you Joel dies that's makes no sense, but if you couldn't figure that out for yourself then i worry for you. But like i said, it's just an opinion, everyone has one. If we all just calmed down and stop taking everything seriously that would be fantastic. And that goes for everything.

    That being said, I really enjoyed and it is a shame how much hate it got but at the end of the day it doesn't really mater. The game play was fun and that's really the only thing that matters, because if there is no game play then it's a movie.     Not only is this the best game ever created, its one of the best pieces of entertainment ever created. It is flawless, hands down a masterpiece. Every aspect is perfect, from the incredible level design through to the impeccable audio. It makes you think about your life and the way you treat people, which is more than any other game or piece of entertainment media. The best game ever made.

There are moments where I smiled and enjoyed but these were fleeting moments and the game drags you back to the dreaded main story. Gameplay mechanics saw a slightly improvement with a dodge move and some stealth options. People who rate this game a 4 or below are very stupid and probably haven't even played the thing. Those three things alone give the game a 5 or above at least. Granted 10 is too much as well. That said, yes Abby is awful and I don't understand why NeilDon't let the naysayers fool you! The graphics are great. The combat is great. The story isn't as predictable as it was in the first one.     If that was the only last of us out there, and people didnt have to compare it as a sequel of another game ,( the game of the century ), then it will have a major rating from everyone . I believe fans from last of us 1 expected more in storytelling and they get disappointed in some desissions. Its not easy to beat last of us 1 but still ..a masterpiece in any other way

    While playing I felt bad all the time. That is not why I play games.

    Best game I have played so far. TLOU2 is truly worthy of being a sequel of TLOU, really good story from both sides of Ellie and Abby, excellent scenarios and gameplay. You can empathize with the character's feelings and it really hurts when you play as Abby fighting Ellie and Ellie fighting Abby. Don't listen to haters, play the game and make your own opinion!!!

    SPOILERS A PARTIR DE AQUÍ

    Respecto a la historia tengo que decir que es realmente buena y que han escogido un hilo muy bueno del que tirar y que además no está explotado. El primero terminó de forma redonda. Joel, un padre que perdió a su hija, antepuso la salvación de la humanidad a una segunda oportunidad que le dio la vida de tener a una niña a la que cuidar y recuperar ese rol de padre incomparable con otra cosa. Final empatico y redondo. Pero en esta segunda entrega nos muestran cómo esa decisión que tomó, afectó a muchas personas, personas tan buenas y nobles como pudieran ser Joel y Ellie, personas que perdieron a padres y amigos por una decisión egoísta al fin y al cabo. Es algo que rara vez nos muestran los videojuegos, donde, por norma general, matamos a "los malos" para conseguir nuestro fin y terminar con un final bueno para nosotros.
    Para mi es como ya he dicho, una historia muy acertada.
    Respecto a la sexualidad de los personajes y toda la polémica que ha levantado, yo lo dejo en un segundo plano, primero porque no tiene importancia y segundo porque su relevancia no es trascendental al lado de lo que quiere transmitir la historia que nos cuentan.

    Toda esa historia que nos cuentan ademas lo hacen con una jugabilidad brillante, con muchos momentos espectaculares, gráficos que alcanzan el techo de la Ps4 y un apartado sonoro impecable y una banda sonora muy cuidada.

    No creo en los juegos perfectos pero esta claro que esto debe de ser algo parecido a la perfección.    … Expand

    Really good game for me overall since I am not an expert gamer but I liked the story a lot and I am very open minded so LGTB wasn't a big deal for me. Very risky moves with the main characters also but it's ok. Too long in my opinion and sometime quite tedious but had a great time playing. Honesty I don't get why so much hate. Therefore, my excitement for this game was through the roof, I couldn’t wait to finish where the first game left off. However, the approach they took in telling this story in part 2 is absolutely terrible. The story is unnecessarily convoluted and pointless. What made last of us part 1 beautiful was it’s simplicity and the evolving relationship between Ellie and Joel. But for insanely strange reason, they completely destroyed what made the first game so beloved. I still can’t believe they deviated from what the first game built up.There’s are so many issues with the story that I could go on for hours about but this is all I feel like typing.… Expand

    Simply a masterpiece. Nothing less. The low user scores reflects how well the narrative manages to connect with you and really hit you where it hurts. I am definitely a Last of us fan, and this sequel is everything i hoped for.

    In my opinion is it worth to play it. It's a solid game with up's and down's. And i don't think it's so controverse like most people said.

    But for me was the last third of the Game worth to play. The Storyline about Abby had so much more deepness.

    Saw all the mixed reviews and I usually follow the people's choice as I find them honest. This game ROCKS . The only part I didn't like was when it ended as all games do.. Yes the story is twisted and tears your heart apart but with a story like that I won't be forgetting it like most games ..
