    I just finished to play the game and I can say that this is the best game I've played so far this year, it has got a lot of details and story it's truly wonderful made, a real masterpiece. Naughty dog, you did it again.

    In my opinion, this game was one of the best in 2020, the problem that I think a lot of people didn't like about it, was because they created so much expectation for something that ended up being totally different from what they expected.

    Just a phenomenal game. The story while gut wrenching has true passion behind it. I felt more while playing this game than I have others. The graphics, voice acting, gameplay above all was incredible.

    I went into this game blind, with only having beaten the first game and avoiding all trailers and reviews. I    One of the best games I have ever played. It improves upon the first game in nearly every way, and at just under 43 hours, is more than twice as long. The graphics, voice acting, level design, enemy variety, gameplay, and game mechanics are all of exceptionally high quality.

    I went into this game blind, with only having beaten the first game and avoiding all trailers and reviews. I think the story and character development are amazing, if very intense. I loved Abby's character, and by the time the credits rolled, I identified and empathized with her more than I did Joel or Ellie. I couldn't believe the risks that Naughty Dog took with this game.

    Be warned however, as this is the most violent game that I have ever played and makes the first game look pretty tame by comparison. The level of violence coupled with the intense emotion and trauma makes this game NOT for the faint of heart. I'm being serious.

    I am docking a point from my rating for one reason: Santa Barbara. That's all I'm going to say. If that chapter was removed, this game would be a 10/10 to me.

Begging from the first trailers in 2016, where old joel was replaced with jessie in the game and old joel being replaced with a younger joel in some of the flashbacks that were meant to be in game present time. I gave it 5 because of the graphics and gameplay only. If it was only for the story i would’ve gave it 1/10. Thank you Neil for killing this legacy… Expand

    - Easily the most beautiful soundtrack, environments, world-building and graphics of any PS4 game.
    - Complex characters making flawed, human decisions makes for a gripping story.
    - The perspective flip to Abby took me by surprise, and nailed home the message that these people you're killing are the heroes of their own story, and that Abby and Ellie are two sides of the same coin.
    - There are a lot of lovingly crafted cutscenes, which enable character development which makes the pain raw and heavy when those characters are unceremoniously killed off.
    - Seattle is well realised - I spotted several buildings I'd been to! It's a shame they clearly weren't allowed to use the Starbucks name!
    - Holy **** every time I had to kill a dog or an enemies mates called out his name....christ. It's a bleak and violent world our protagonists live in.

    Overall, having completed one playthrough, I find it to exceed the emotional weight of the first game, improve on nearly every aspect of it, and truly made me agonise and empathise with the characters.

    I am a naughty dog fanboy, and this release only cements that further. I can't wait to see where they go next, but I feel like Ellie's story is done.    … Expand

Now, although the plot is not executed perfectly (hence I gave it a 9, not 10), I think the story seems legit despite the negative reviews (which is most likely just because of a character death). Keep in mind that this is a post-apocalystic world and thereI enjoyed the game a lot. Gameplay and combat is really really really good and immersive. The graphics and sound design is top-notch.     Realmente me conmoví y disfruté la trama del juego, y aunque algunos de mis personajes favoritos murieron, en ningún momento deje de disfrutar el juego.

Some sections of story drag on and the game just feels way longer than it needs to be. Joel's death should have been built up better. Maybe start the game playing as Abby and showing the whole thing with her dad being the surgeon Joel killed and she swears revenge. Let us spend enought time with her and her squad to get attached and sympathize with her. While I personally always thought Joel would die or have to suffer the consequences for his actions at the end of the first game. I think the sequence of events leading up was poorly done. I did not hate Abby and enjoyed her quite a bit as a character.

    Id of much preferred NaughtyDog to have focused on new characters in this universe instead. But I think most of the "controversy" and accusations of "pandering" is just dumb and baseless.

    If you take the time to think critically instead of your heart, you'd find the game alot more deep and enjoyable. The games message is deeper than 'violence bad'. It's a story about revenge, grief, acceptance and forgiveness. It's meant to make you uncomfortable and question your own beliefs. I still think this is a great game overall. But compared to all of NaughtyDog's previous games I've played its rough.    … Expand

    The gameplay and look of this game are absolutely great. The only reason I kept playing was just for gameplay and I still replay the combat encounters but that's about it. I don't care about Ellie being lesbian or the transgender story arc or anything like that. That's not my complaint with the game. I don't xare about abby, or mel, or owen or anybody. I understand the message of revenge being bad but the execution was just awful. Red dead 2 has a better "Revenge is bad" story that was executed perfectly. The ending of the game left me vastly disappointed. How ellie throughout the course of the game murders and butchers through so many people and even kills dogs in brutal ways AND tortures a girl to death but as soon as she's about to kill the one person that caused her to lose so much she just suddenly can't. And people are trying to say that she regains her "humanity". Sorry no that's **** SHE KILLED SO MANY PEOPLE IN CRUEL AND BRUTAL WAYS. She lost all sense of humanity.     Absolutely ruined and destroyed everything the first game was about. Even aside from the awful narrative, the pacing, character choices, and overall delivery were some of the worst in any game this decade. I cannot express to you, reader, how much I hate this game. And I will never forgive Naughty Dog for what they’ve done. +1 for good graphics.

    Es el primer juego que logra hacer algo asi. Realmente una obra maestra.

    As every naughty dog game graphics, sound and gameplay are just perfect! It is so atmospheric characters feel as real as in a movie. All the small gestures all the details. So from this point of view the game could be a master-piece. However I personally think the story it self is boring, it has it’s moments of course, but most of the time you are running from A-to-B chasing the next objectives. As the journey itself is fun, exploring this stunning world feels pretty good, the story behind is pretty boring. Naughty dog tries to catch you with emotions during the cut-scenes and dialogs (by the way you don’t see any graphical cut between gameplay and cut-scene – superb!), but for me the game feels to long, the story takes to long to unfold. I had to force myself to finish the game, due to hard times and boring parts. And frankly I’m glad I finished it, the end is pretty rewarding! At least I liked it, because it was kinda unexpected. 15hrs would have been perfect for that story, so it feels like the time you need to finish is way to long for the story. And usually I enjoy playing games for hundreds of hours (RPG are my favorite genre…), but here if just feels wrong. Well this might be just my opinion. However, for me this is a 7/10 game. All the hype, the time spent waiting for this hot garbage!!! I played through the first game, an absolute masterpiece, no less than 10 times. This game, I couldn’t get it over fast enough. It was brutal playing as the enemy for far too long. Killing Joel? Ruining everything you built in the first game?     Una GRAN (Mala) sorpresa:
    TLoU II era EL juego esperado, sobre todo si habías jugado al TLoU de PS3 o la remasterización en PS4.
    En mi opinión TLoU II cuenta con unos gráficos, jugabilidad y apartado sonoro muy buenos, que son (lamentablemente) sus mejores aspectos. Y porque lamentablemente? porque todo lo bueno de esos apartados se ven manchados por una pobre historia y personajes que    Una GRAN (Mala) sorpresa:
    TLoU II era EL juego esperado, sobre todo si habías jugado al TLoU de PS3 o la remasterización en PS4.
    En mi opinión TLoU II cuenta con unos gráficos, jugabilidad y apartado sonoro muy buenos, que son (lamentablemente) sus mejores aspectos. Y porque lamentablemente? porque todo lo bueno de esos apartados se ven manchados por una pobre historia y personajes que me decepcionaron totalmente.
    Los gráficos 9/10: Son hermosos, de lo mejor en PS4
    La jugabilidad 8/10: Movimientos suaves y precisos
    La música 8/10: Santaolalla se pasa otra vez, y no le pongo un 9 porque en TLoU me impacto mas.
    Historia 1/10: Totalmente decepcionante, no atrapa como en el primero. Hay partes que las jugué rápido solo para avanzar en la historia y que se terminara de una vez (es lo peor que te puede pasar).
    Personajes 1/10: Todo mal acá también! Joel se merecía mas, mucho mas. Ellie baja un par de puntos con respecto a la primera parte, se esfuerzan por hacerla quedar mal y casi lo logran. Abby... solo vas a querer que termine pronto, se esfuerzan por querer justificarla y solo crea mas rechazo al personaje.
    Conclusión: Un juego que tenia el potencial para ser LA joya del ocaso de PS4 y que solo será recordado por sus controversias y dividir a la opinión de los jugadores.

    Muy buen juego me encanto la historia. Es lo que tuvo que suceder desde de las consecuencias del final del primer juego. Este juego te deja igual de impactado muy tenso muy emocional debido que vas superando los pensamiento de las protagonistas. Algunas escenas sobran. Muy contento

Si entiendo porque hubo gente que odio el juego, pero amenazar de muerte a actores, compositores, productores, etc, eso si es de tonto. En cuanto a gráficos es asombroso, en gameplay también, y si tengo que admitir que en historia este juego es un poco flojo en comparación al primero. Y la muerte de Joel no tiene el porque ser épica, si todos los personajes de esta saga murieron con un final trágico.     The last of us part 2 is not only outstanding in graphics, gameplay and acting, but has a story that invites you to go on the same arc as the characters. That being said, I wouldn't recommend it if you're not willing to sob. I've never been more invested in (and heartbroken by) a game. For me, that is undoubtedly to its credit.

    The game's story is not what you expect of and probably not what you want. It will make you cry, suffer and be devastated. But it works. Best gameplay, great combats, scenary and graphics, The Last of Us Part 2 is a message about the consequences revenge and hate demands. It speaks to our curreent society, where hate is spread everywhere.

    -La publicidad falsa en los trailers me molesto mucho, y no me importa si lo hace Marvel Studios, el boleto para una pelicula no cuesta lo mismo que un videojuego, creo que es de las pocas ocasiones en que lo que se ve en los trailers me gusta mucho mas que el producto final
    -La muerte de Joel ocurre de una forma bastante incoherente a comparacion de lo que eran los personajes en el primer juego, dudo mucho que Tommy hubiera dado su nombre, y Joel definitivamete no hubiera dado el suyo, es mas, creo que hasta es muy dificil pensar que ayudaria a una completa desconocida solo por que si, aparte de que ambos dan sus nombres en la cabaña de un grupo armado, asi que ese seria uno de mis problemas, la muerte de Joel ocurre de una manera a mi parecer bastante forzada
    -Te ponen a usar a Abby justo en el climax del juego, el punto mas emocionante de la historia, se corta a negro para ponerte a usar a la asesina de Joel, que en mi caso me resulto imposible empatizar con ella, su razon de matar a Joel es por la muerte de su papa, un NPC que no aparece ni dos minutos en el primer juego, y algunas partes de su historia me parecio que fueron relleno, no veia la hora de acabar de jugar con ella, se me hizo realmente tedioso, y su historia en lugar de hacer que empatizara con ella me hizo odiarla aun mas, tuvo relaciones con Owen que ya estaba con Mel para ese entonces, estando Mel embarazada y siendo esta una de las amigas de Abby y ademas traiciono a su grupo en el que llevaba años solo para salvar a Lev, no ha habido personaje en un videojuego o pelicula que haya odiado mas que a Abby
    -El final he visto que deja muchos puntos de vista diferentes, respetables por supuesto, en mi caso hubiera preferido que el final fuera decision libre, matar a Abby o no, que el jugador decidir el destino final.
    Le doy el 6 por los demas apartados, graficos, banda sonora, gameplay, todo eso esta muy bien,lo que si me disgusto toalmente fue la historia

So many cool things happened, even though it was so much different. The game was fresh and felt new to play. The first game is one of my favorite games and I've gone through the entire thing quite a few times. Although I didn't agree with some things in this title, it's still a good game. When you compare it to the first game, people can get mad because this is not as good of a game when it comes to writing. Just because it isn't as good as the first doesn't mean it a bad game. The answer is very simple, and it does not only concern the ground level plot and how it is awfully slammed inside the game chronologically speaking, but even all the terrible actions that Naughty Dog and Sony made when the leaks came out. Flaming with controversy, behind the scenes of the project, and how the critics and fanbase are heavily divided against each other. As a fan of The Last of Us (2013), it pains me to say that this was not a good sequel to such a beloved masterpiece.

    I love the first game because of its narrative and characters, the worldbuilding, the meanings of the story and characters, how it is a rollercoaster of emotions. Sadly, I didn't feel anything for The Last of Us Part II but only hate...which is what it was going for but handled very poorly. While looking at the game, I didn't get a story, I got a game preaching to me about something I already know but how terrible it was used.

    As much as I despise this game, I can see why people love the game for what it is and its message it sends. My issue with that is that they can't understand why many people hate this game and are willing to defend it without knowing its noticeable flaws of story and characters. It is obvious that they ignored the problems and just mindlessly go along with the story, which is manipulating players thinking what they are doing is wrong . I don't expect the game to be perfect as the first game and not use too many of realistic logics like real life, but i also expected to actually make some sense out of it since this is suppose to be "gritty, dark, brutal, and realistic" game about revenge, when all we got was a dull romance, people wanting to kill each other instead of actually surviving, a little SJW representation, dull characters, and a very anticlimactic ending.

    This game tries so hard to be miserable, it fails to make the game's story work. If I want to play a dark miserable game about a character who thinks they're the hero of the story and think what they're doing is right when really they're a villain causes not by character but player's choices, I'll play Spec Ops: The Line. If I wanted learn that revenge is bad and has consequences, I would play either the God of War series or Red Dead Redemption series. That's all I have to say about The Last of Us Part II.

    I won't agree with you liking the game, but I can understand why you do. Even though this is isn't all I wanted to say because I still have stuff to say about this game, I hope you can kinda understand why I don't like the game as much as you do.     Technicaly, the game excels and surpasses its predecessor in many aspects. The jogabillity or controls are good, but not perfect, but just as in LoU, they work very well to break the monotony and give some action between the cutscenes. The visual, animations, and expressions, on the other hand, are just perfect and far better than I would ever expect for a PS4 game.

    But the story and characters are the best part of the game...

    I had low expections at start because Last of Us (part 1) ended in a way that didn't leave much were to go afterward, and I've also read that part 2 would be a journey of vengeance, which could be very empty. Well, it is not. The core of the game is about how complex the characters are and how broken or wrong they can be. Nothing in the story is black and white and even the worst enemies have reasons.

    I see there are lots of bad reviews of the game, but reading through them I can only understand that people who wrote those were not intelligent or adult enough to understand the plot.

    Last of Us part 2 makes the player do terrible things. It then gives the player control over the (at the time) antagonist and understand that she has a whole lot story and motivations of her own and to show how big and bad were the consequences of Ellie's actions. And this is simply a great decision from Naughty Dog...
    While we are used to games depicting the worse villans and faceless enemies, LoUp2 makes you care for, or at least understand, every one of them.

    My bias: I did not agree with Joel's actions at the end of TLOU. I was hoping that this story would pick up where that left off and explore that side of him a bit more. Redemption. I was hoping for a further understanding into the infected, a hope for the cure, a rebuild of civilization, etc.

    But nope. The game wants us to play as Ellie because scumbag Joel had it coming, right? He killed the one and only person who could develop a vaccine...... sure, that's very believable. In a harrowing scene, Abby & co kill him. Now Ellie is pretty cool and the dynamic between her, Dina, and Jesse plays out nicely. It's convincing. We see her character evolve. Then I see "Seattle Day 1" and we're thrown into the game again as Abby. I understand what they're trying to do here but I simply do not care for it. I don't need to go through the _entire_ journey again. A simple cutscene would suffice. I stopped playing.

    I don't really have anything new to add other than what's already been said. The technical execution here is flawless (graphics, gameplay, score, etc.) but the story is intentional emotional torture. They introduce characters only to kill them off and then force-feed you Abby's (the antagonist but not really because we live in a complex world!) perspective so we can walk a mile in her shoes. Once the campaign turned and I saw "Seattle Day 1", I immediately stopped playing and watched the ending playthrough on YouTube so I could skip over the next 15 hours or so of playing the same game over again with a new character that I really don't want to care about. Yes, I'm being emotionally dense but video games are escapism and trying to stretch the medium and introduce complexity for the cool brownie points such as story being told out of order, force-empathy with a brand-new character, etc. are stunts that will ensure that this game is remembered for all the wrong reasons.

    There's a fundamental disconnect between the story the game wants to tell and the story the audience wants to hear. Forcing us to empathize and humanize an antagonist to introduce complexity is not the direction this game should have taken. If you want to take those kinds of "risks", do it in a new property and leave this one alone. Too late now, I hope you feel like Joel did after the ending of TLOU.    … Expand

If they narrowed the scope of the story and made it 15 hours instead of 30 I might have rated it higher. I can forgive a crap story if the game is fun. It’s fun to blow people apart with the hunting pistol and flamethrower (and hilarious because the game is trying to make you dislike violence/think of the enemy as human). But i don’t think it they should have killed off one of the most beloved characters in gaming, but it did set the threat of abby and the WLF’s and i think that playing as abby is a different experience to play as the villain , i think that abby plays similar to joel with the combat being similar and she helps lev and yara similar to how joel helped ellie. I am in no way saying that abby is a replacement to playing as joel but i think Naughty Dog did a great job of creating a sequel to the beloved first game.… Expand
