    Ok it’s not a 0 by any means. But they tossed away the main character like they did in Uncharted. At least drake retired and didn’t get a club to the face. It’s the last Jedi of Games and most reviews are faux. What’s worse is the game reviewers are supposed to be not political, give us a real review. 10 out of 10 really ?GTA5 at best was a 9 and that’s fun. Good graphics but this game isOk it’s not a 0 by any means. But they tossed away the main character like they did in Uncharted. At least drake retired and didn’t get a club to the face.     Finally finished after 10 long days, 27h gameplay wise. Anyway I can't say I've liked the game, some parts playing through was nice to get me going with nice play, riding through Seattle day 1 and flash backs were decent, although I heavily disagree with Ellie character development, and things creators intended her to say. Game is actually a torture masked in its predecessor trying to pickFinally finished after 10 long days, 27h gameplay wise. Anyway I can't say I've liked the game, some parts playing through was nice to get me going with nice play, riding through Seattle day 1 and flash backs were decent, although I heavily disagree with Ellie character development, and things creators intended her to say.     The game doesn't deserve 5 to 0 ratings, it is well done in every way. I think the only reason for this hate is because fans weren't serviced and their expectations ruined their game experience. I loved the first game, but I was opened to whatever came next...     Really bad. The first game was fun to explore. I loved finding all of the comic books and waiting around to listen to Ellie’s terrible jokes. It was a story about people trying to still be human in a post-apocalyptic world. I could connect with those characters.

Why would it be strange for Ellie to have changed her personality during a virus outbreak apocalypse? If anything, Ellie's hate is the most important and relevant factor in the game. Besides this, the way naughty dog let you play both sides of the story makes so much sense! If you enjoyed the original game, don't worry about part II, you will enjoy it even more!… Expand

    After seven years, I finally got The Last of Us Part II. What to write about him in a few sentences? The title surpasses its predecessor in all respects and pushes the bar sacramentally high, I would say that it has become a milestone across all Playstation titles that can be played at the moment (or rather survive) and is slowly opening the door to a new generation. The story works great with the characters, when the original ones return and new ones come, and whose psychology and characteristics are different and original, each with a past and a justified motive for its actions. In some scenes, there is an uncontrollable surge of various emotions, which was last provided by Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. The atmosphere connected with the music and the story has again moved a few levels higher and we can speak of a strong dramatic experience that will leave you scars long after it is over. Actions always have their consequences, only at different levels (physical and mental). The gameplay is basically taken from the unit, only it is more balanced, supplemented by new ideas, new enemies, larger locations and solutions to various situations. The Last of Us Part II and its story need to be lived on to your own skin, you can analyze and interpret it on other levels, but this will only bring up questions that are irrelevant to the game as such. So if I have to dig a little (really VERY a little) into that end, then my short version reads: The terms "revenge" and "violence" are directly linked. Is it really necessary to have so much violence in the world? If so, at what price? Where is the end of that human frontier when one opposes revenge? It can be a proceeding, resp. a motive of revenge conditioned by an imbalance of the consequences of the past? Is it possible to back down from revenge and compromise? Here you go.
    PS: Do you know that the opposite of revenge is forgiveness? If you didn't realize this after finishing The Last of Us Part II, then I don't know how you perceive the stories.    … Expand

    A masterpiece. Provocative in its themes and sophisticated in its writing, this game boasts a powerful narrative and extremely polished gameplay that combine to create an unrivalled experience that is not only rewarding, but perhaps necessary in our current times. It may require a certain level of emotional maturity though.

No idea why it got hate, it’s one of the best games on the PS4 (maybe the best). Possibly people don’t like non-cookie cutter stories but this felt more real than anything the first one ever did. In the end you’re supposed to be left seeing that there’s always another side to the story and people/things aren’t just black and white, or good and evil. And sometimes things don’t just get wrapped up in a little bow for you. Especially in a world as grim as the one in the game. The game played this all out beautifully. Beyond that, the gameplay, mechanics, etc were also a lot better and more enjoyable. 10/10.… Expand

    An absolute disaster of a video game which everyone had high hopes for. Graphics are 10/10 but the game is so poor that the wonder of the world just means nothing.

    Ater reading hundreds of reviews, I gather people hate on this game for the following reasons:

    1. "The characters feel different to the first game" Ellie was a child in TLOU, she is a teenager in TLOUII. Please go ahead and tell me you were as cheerful and positive as a 14 year old than as a 24 year old. Also, Ellie through part 1 is a character with a purpose (saving humanity with her    Ater reading hundreds of reviews, I gather people hate on this game for the following reasons:

    1. "The characters feel different to the first game" Ellie was a child in TLOU, she is a teenager in TLOUII. Please go ahead and tell me you were as cheerful and positive as a 14 year old than as a 24 year old. Also, Ellie through part 1 is a character with a purpose (saving humanity with her inmunity). THE WHOLE POINT of this game is showing what becomes of Ellie after losing her purpose. You can SEE and FEEL the incoming change at the end of TLOU. Her purpose in this game changes to one of revenge -- a compeltely negative, violent, dark purpose fueled by hate. OF COURSE her character has changed, THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT. The same applies for what we see of Joel: motivated by helping Ellie/Humanity in TLOU, absolutely ravaged by guilt in the second part due to his actions and Ellie's reaction to it. I mean, the entire point of putting the flashbacks in is for you to see how much the ending of TLOU and the decisions thereupon taken affected the characters.

    2. "Its too dark/brutal/depressing". Again, thats the point. TLOU presented two characters on a quest to save the world who developed a beautiful relationship in the process. It was an overally "hopeful" game, except for the finale: the finale is all about the loss of hope. Yes, sure, Joel's actions are beautiful as regards him seeing Ellie as his lost daughter and wanting to save her at all costs. But its a horrifying thing he does, and we know by Ellie's face in the last shot that he has probably ruined her life. TLOU2 just takes things further from there, showing the devastation brought on by Joel's decision. It shows the horrors in this world. But if you stick your head out of your ass for a while, you'll be able to glimpse through how this game does the exact opposite from TLOU: it goes from absolute horror and devastation to a glimpse of hope. Thats the beauty of the journey. You wanted a cheesy, cheerful sequel about Joel and Ellie out for a second cure? You didnt understand the first game at all.

    3. The SJW agenda. Its there, but its neither exaggerated neither is it "meaningless". There's a point to it in the story. If you are seriously hurt by having a character be LGTBQ to the point of it spoiling your gaming experience, please visit a psychologist.

    4. The lack of evolution in gameplay. I think the whole point of the game is its simplicity and its "realness" and you wont get a more realistic game than this. ¿What where you expecting? ¿New weapons? ¿Super bosses? This is not a resident evil game.

    5. "We are forced to like Abby when she is a horrible character" I absolutely loved Abby, despite initially furisouly hating her (as Naughty Dog intended). I probably even took to liking her more than Ellie by the end. Hating her because of her initial actions and failing to see how she is a perfect equivalent to Ellie (without the benefit of an entire first game to know her better) shows a lack of maturity and open-mindedness needed to fully understand this game's story.

    This game surely has its falws, but in my opinion its a strong GOTY contender. Its an amazing game, the story hits incredibly hard and its super fun to play. Unlike games like KH3, which mantain that nostalgia of childhood but feel "inmature" when playing them as an adult as compared to playing them as a child, TLOU2 feels like it has grown with me. Its an adult game, based on the first game's consequences. Its beautiful.    … Expand

    Never has a piece of media affected me with the intensity that the Last of Us 2 has, and I doubt one ever will. Gorgeous animation, creative gameplay, impeccable writing, I could go on. If you are ready for a gut-wrenching and traumatising but ultimately perfect game, look no further than the Last of Us 2. A truly beautiful masterpiece.

    Il gioco di una generazione
    Mi da fastidio come la gente sia così infantile da non accettare la morte di un personaggio, capisco come sia difficile vedere ucciso il proprio personaggio preferito e poi utilizzare il suo killer, ma la scelta della ND è stata molto coraggiosa, mai fatta prima, e mi è piaciuta.
    La storia di questo gioco è FANTASTICA, è una storia drammatica, è un gioco che riesce a prenderti il cuore e spaccartelo in mille pezzi, per alcuni è un difetto del gioco, ma invece era Lo scopo del gioco ed è stata una scelta fantastica, il gioco varia da momenti molto tristi a momenti dolci ed emozionanti (compleanno di Ellie). Abby è un grandissimo personaggio, è fantastico come il gioco riesce a fartelo odiare a morte, fartelo apprezzare e alla fine fartelo amare. WOW questo gioco è fantastico.

Lack of connections between the story and the game mechanics (unlike tlou). The story is flawed and filled with plot holes, the new secondary characters are pretty forgettable, Ellie's decisions do not make sense throughout the entire game. For Abby, Joel is a monster, and she wants to avenge her father's death, so she kills Joel. That triggers hatred and brutality inside Ellie and now she seeks revenge. Not only that, just when Ellie was gonna get her sweet sweet revenge on the woman who killed her guardian who protected her from scavengers, psychopaths and zombies she had a "change of heart" because killing is bad. (Even though she killed literally everyone Abby ever loved and had a friendship with) I don't get how this could be nominated for GOTY.     This is a brilliant game with a lot of risks taken from the narrative perspective. It's easy to understand why there are people so wildly mad against it. Small minds.
    So, in the end, love it or hate it. But I strongly feel very disappointed seeing so many dumb people destroying this titanic effort full of fine art, talent and inspiration.

Game-play is very good and I enjoyed the features from first game and the newly added ones. I'm not saying that the game is technically perfect because it's not. It happened to me several times, for example, that a ladder got stuck in my body and I could walk with it in complete comfort. In any case, these small mistakes could be overlooked if the story of the game was not worth it at all. Don't get me wrong, the idea of ​​playing as Abby isn't the worst. But when Joel was killed before Ellie's eyes at the beginning of the game, I thought the game would be about revenge and how she would cope and survive outside on her own. Which was partly true, but only partly. I really didn't want to play for Abby from the middle of the game, and find out she had the right to kill Joel. And not to mention about that end. If Ellie had endured it all and sacrificed so much, why the hell didn't she kill her? (I don't want to offend anyone with this next opinion) And please, why do you have to put all those things around gay and trans gender people there? I understand that every second game or movie has it today, but don't you think it would be more original not to have it there? When it all takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, I don't think people would deal with it and just try to survive. I think it is a very good game it has too many new features like the new combat system now you can dodge blows you can throw yourself to the ground and also the new objects that you can build, the story seemed to me one of the best I have seen the only thing that I I leave sad was the end because ellie does nothing of his revenge and loses his girlfriend but he has his happy side because in the end ellie forgives joel for lying, has abby for killing joel and dina for leaving and leaves everything behind and continues with his life… Expand

    I loved that you got to play both as Abby and Ellie, made the game ending much less predictable as I really cared for both of them in the end.

It has drawn criticism but really the reason people are annoyed is exactly what makes this game so utterly compelling. You are not supposed to like what happens. It is a horror game set in a world where everything has gone to hell with 3 dimensional characters who do terrible things with terrible consequences but with noble intentions.
