    The attention to detail is unbelievable. The game is very immersive. The melee combat as well as the shooting is brutal. The game is on another level.

    This is the worst game in the history of all games. The story is awful. If you want to play for the combat and liked the combat of the first game and then its a lot of the same thing for 25 hours and you might like it. But if you are playing for the story and want to experience something as amazing as the first game then stay away from this one. You will be seriously disappointed.     I finished this game twice. I can't stand the story. I absolutely loved the first one, and as a sequel, this is horrible. The pacing is very rough, the characters are uninteresting, the gameplay doesn't improve much on the original. This is a massive disappointment....

    Not as good as the original, a little too much revenge for most but it's an amazing game. Comparing to the first game is where it falls short in some aspects, but worth every bit of $60. The gameplay can become repetitive toward the end, but the story and conclusion is worth the playthrough.

    I play this game on older version of ps4 but I found details brilliant and didn't have any bugs, crashes or anything negative. I love relationship and chemistry of characters and i really enjoyed that aspect of game!
    Game is heavy, heartbreaking and sad. After finishing I was left with very depressing feeling in me for days. Even disappointment. This is single player story based game, so its strong point must be on the narrative part. And this part is so weak, first because of the way characters are handled, not giving them proper conclusions or completely destroying character traits for just pushing the story! Second, reusing the same combat engine from the first game (after seven years, they couldn’t come up with something new) and third, ruining the games story for pushing, like always seen in other games and movies this stupid politics agenda! Look, they made us care for Joel and Ellie in the first Last of us! So tell me, why couldn’t they just give the proper respect to them and end it in a much meaningful and respectful way?… Expand

    So beautiful 10/10 GOTY. This game is really good like I cant stop replying it. The gameplay is amazing and the enemy encounters are all varied but extremely fun to play. DONT GET ME STARTED ON THE BEAUTIFUL GRAPHICS MY GOD. I 100% completed the game a week after I got it because I was addicted

    I dont understand the hate for this game, it's really good, not as good as the first but then again nothing is. I like this game a lot its gameplay is so great. The story does get annoying after replaying it a lot, the flashbacks make the game harder to replay, other then that it's a great game. I wish they'd add a wave mode so I could have more fun

What the heck Naughty Dog. So after forcing myself to play with an upset stomach, I found myself enjoying the scenery more than the story. That is the only reason this story got a 1. I couldn't pay attention and felt forced to play as a character I had no interest in at all... and had to sit through that nauseating gay scene. (I dont care about gay people, they can do what they want, but I find it disturbing to see any sensual acts from my gender)
    Finally, after all the bull revenge I was about to put Abby through...NOP. She bites my fingers off, and we go our separate ways. The En. Can't even play my guitar anymore. ... WHY WOULDNT YOU LET ME KILL THAT EBIL WOMAN!? Thanks for ruining TLOU Naighty Dog. Whoever wrote the story needs to find a new job.    … Expand

    Superb game with excellent gameplay, which surprisingly was even better than the first instalment. Graphics are awesome. Storyline is great, although I wanted to play the part of Joel more - having been through part I all the way with him. My only gripe was that I wanted Ellie to beat the hell out of Abby, but I couldn't advance the storyline when this happened!

    So to be completely honest people overreacted to this game, it isn't as good as the first one, and definitely not Game of The Year (that would be Ghost of Tsushima). But the story itself is really good, although how they told it and did it wasn't, the ending should've had a character choice.     The game has non-innovative gameplay from the previous game. The story after around the first half of the game gets boring. There are too many useless and non-interesting characters. The enemy AI in the game is stupid and make the game look clunky. The strongest part of the first game (the strong characters and story) are gone. It has nice graphics and awesome attention to detail.

    There were parts in the story that I didn't like so much and that could have been told in a better way and some pieces of story could have been better if they were presented in a different order, but all in all this was a decent game.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As much of a cliché as it is, The Last of Us Part II is ahead of its time. This has one of the most memorable stories that I've personally ever played, and it contradicts the first game entirely. In The Last of Us Part II, Joel is a shell of a human being at the beginning of the game, but through the innocence of his child companion, Ellie, he's given a second chance, both as a human being in general, and as a father. In The Last of Us Part II, Ellie starts as a good person (a little bit rude, maybe) and by the end of the game, she is left by everyone she loves, loses two fingers (making her unable to play guitar anymore), and develops severe PTSD. In my opinion, making the sequel of the most heartwarming game I've ever played, the most depressing game I've ever played is the boldest artistic decision made by a Triple-A game studio to date. If you hated this game because there is no relationship like there is with Joel and Ellie in the first, 1. I think you missed the point entirely 2. There is, between Abby and Lev, but it isn't the a huge part of the game. The Last of Us Part II has the least satisfying ending of any story I've ever experienced, but that doesn't make it bad. Ellie changes her mind, and she's allowed to do that, because Ellie is a dynamic character, and you aren't Ellie. Trust me, I wanted to kill Abby as much as the next guy, but at the end of the game, following Abby to the ends of the earth to kill her is just as bad as what she does to Joel, setting Ellie down this path, and if Ellie does that to Abby, she'll be setting Lev down that path, too. But she ends the cycle, she may have down the completely wrong path in her life, but Ellie still knows the difference between right and wrong. The biggest flaw with this game, is it's structure and pacing. It's not at all a traditional structure, which I think they probably should've gone with, but it didn't take much away from my enjoyment of the game. Maybe I'm just sad that he died, but I wish we could've seen more of Joel, before his death. This is definitely not a perfect game, but I think that it's a fitting sequel to a fantastic game. If you're offended because the main character is a lesbian, the other main character is believed to be transgender, and a side character is definitely transgender, then you're the snowflake.… Expand

I love how this game challenges you mentally and and gets you to think about the choices Ellie makes and whether you agree with her or not affects how you see the story. Emotionally this game asks aLet's be honest, this game is very devisive and i really respect Naughty Dog for that as this game is up for interpretation. This game is either a hit or a miss and for me, it was a solid hit.     Visually this game is outstanding, it is always constantly dripping with atmosphere and had me immersed the whole time. The gameplay is so fluid, by far the best stealth game in the business. The way Ellie moves in and out of stealth is so smooth and makes you feel epic. Of course no game is perfect, which is why i gave it a 9, there are a few bugs here and there but what game doesn't have them. I also can understand where people are coming from when there say this game wasn't for them, to some people this game just doesn't work which is why i strongly believe you should play this game for yourself as it is up for interpretation and should be a choice you make whether you like this game or not. For me it was a hit, i couldn't stop thinking about this game when i wasn't playing it and didn't want it to end. I think no other game has made me cry as much as this one has, but that was a good thing for me because i was truly immersed in the story and the characters. Well done Naughty Dog.    … Expand

    This game is a masterpiece.

    The negative reviews that focus on a plot point they disagree with are missing the point. The overall experience genuinely elevates the whole videogame medium, and I Don't think that's hyperbole.

    I couldn't finish it, stopped after some 8 hours, this is not a game but depression simulation, atmosphere is really not encouraging to play it. Technically it is impressive for this ending generation but nothing is motivating you to play it, no adrenaline rush like in horror games, just really weird bad atmosphere and tormented character. Если ты кого-то или что-то яростно ненавидишь - то самое время покопаться в себе.
    Уверен, что через 5-10 лет игра станет в глазах сообщества шедевром, но пока вокруг себя она собирает множество хейтеров с "особенностями" личности, с которыми игра и задумана бороться. Нашедшим тут лгбт-пропаганду или бомбящим от внешнего вида Эбби - отдельный привет.
    Гафика, а точнее уровень прорисовки как самих персонажей так и окружения - определенно лучшее, что есть в игровой индустрии.
    Из минусов - в районе 2/3 линии Элли немного начинал зевать. Ну и прошка всю игру воет как самолет.    … Expand

    minus 3 for mediocore boring gameplay minus 10 for sony's and ND behaviour with the leaks minus 10 for Neil's BS minus 10 for killing a beloved character and the whole franchise minus 100 for putting in SJW politics down your throat minus 100 for the bs story minus 10 for 10/10 shill media reviews ...etc. therefore    To be fair technically and for graphics it is a 8/10.     Playing this game after all the hype has died down, i can say that the last of us 2 is a good game. The combat is fun and the atmosphere and exploration is phenomenal. The graphics and overall quality is the best in the industry. A story i bet you havent even got to the first 2 hours and then came here and put these shamefull scores on metacritic. People who are extremely talented have worked on this game for more than 5 years, hours and hours of hard work and i cant even begin to imagine how disappointed they might feel after seeing these scores. If any of them is reading this i have to say that you guys are first in the line in game making industry, you are the voice of we, the gamers who are tryin to tell the world that game design is pure art.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
