    nice graphics, loved the work they've done with infected. poor game design and storytelling. I had a feeling like I'm playing remake of the first part. Every level was so predictable and similar to part 1. I won't even talk about this games propaganda. Thats a different srory. Guys just keep it away from games, please.

    this game is basically a torture porn soap opera. it's all about love triangles and melodramatic nonsense, extremely contrived with a badly constructed narrative, plot-armor all over the place, way too many forced coincidiences, even in pivotal events in the story.

    it's bad enough as it is, as a standalone game, but in context of how brilliant the first game was, this is a travesty.

    that's is why the technical aspects like graphics or music can not redeem this game at all. it's a real shame that all the hard work that went into it was a big waste of everyone's time.

    it's a perfect example of how NOT to do a sequel and treat your fans. one of the most beloved franchises in gaming is most likely dead, and that's why I give this a 0/10.    … Expand

    Mucho gráfico pero la historia está horriblemente mal montada. El juego se hace aburrido en su totalidad y a los amantes del primer juego se nos ha insultado desde el minuto uno. Esto es un sin sentido, y con las horas no mejora. El final ya roza en el ridículo más extremo.

    The gameplay was decent.
    The story was an absolute joke that made me with I had never bothered with this piece of trash. My girlfriend and I played through the first one together and loved it. But by the end of this game we were both in awe of how mind numbingly boring it was. This was 20+ hours of garbage drama.

    If your going to kill the main protagonist and force your player to play the villain might as well change the name of your game then calling it a part 2. Also this could have been stomached better if the player was given the choice to kill Abby in the end rather then forcing the story on them.     Other than those, its a complete drag playing the game over the point of simplistic story of trying to get you travel from A to B and repeat. The worst part is, it tries to play with your emotions with the developers thinking they are doing it great. It sucks.     Unlike a lot of people, I've played the game before reviewing it. It's great. It improves upon the first game in every way and the story is a truly harrowing experience.

The game feels like the first one but with a few new mechanics that, indeed, took the game to a new level but not too far from de previous one. Nevertheless, that the only good part of the game, The Last of Us 2 is a direct betrayal to the fans of this saga, killing the main protagonist in the first hours of gameplay. A protagonist regarded as one of the most beloved ones in the gaming community. I’m speechless with the narrative, they just don’t want people to play it, they manage somehow to make Ellie such a weak woman that she couldn’t even kill Joel’s murderer, she’s far better than that.… Expand

I dont care they killed of joel but they spent the rest of the game trying to get me to sympathize with abby who i didnt care for i barely know her i didnt want to know her and i felt they wanted to portray ellie as the bad guy. Also the main quest of the game is trying to get revenge on abby for killing joel but it doesnt even let you do that which makes the entire game pointless. I flat out hated the game after the ending. Overall because of the bad story i couldn't find myself enjoying the graphics or the gameplay or the music.… Expand

    1. Hay más evolución en el personaje de Abby porque es un personaje nuevo y necesitan darle una gran trascendencia para que pueda rivalizar con Ellie en la historia y crear un escenario interesante
    2. Ellie "no evoluciona" tanto como Abby por lo primero y porque sólo al final "entiende que debía dejar a un lado su venganza" o se siente satisfecha con casi matar a Abby.
    3. Ellie no es que no "aprende" de la venganza, lo hace justo antes de matar a Abby. Abby gana y Ellie pierde, para mí. No logra matarla y Abby se va con su venganza cumplida. Ellie debió matarla y cumplir su venganza. Ese era su destino, lamentablemente igual que lamentables todas las matanzas en el juego. Yo creo que busca la venganza y la consigue pero está tan destruida y cansada que no logra concretarla y se detiene antes de matar a Abby porque con la paliza y la pelea ya ha llenado su deseo de venganza. El casi matarla le ha logrado llenar esa necesidad de redimir la muerte de Joel y decide en el último minuto, movida también por la pesadumbre de semejantes masacres en las que ha estado involucrada hace sólo poco tiempo, soltarla. Ya no va a buscarla pero la ha casi obtenido. No creo que crea en que debe detener su venganza y yo tampoco creo en detener una venganza así. Cuando te matan a un padre es ir a buscar al culpable hasta matarle y eso es lo que ha hecho Ellie, lo ha cumplido hasta el último segundo y ha parado sólo ahí, en un instante límite, y eso es lo que marca el trofeo "Hice lo que tenía que hacer" aunque eso le desolara, ese era su destino.
    4. No es un gran juego. Es un buen juego, si quieren hasta un muy buen juego pero no un gran juego. Es muy amarillista, usa mucho la violencia, es terriblemente e innecesariamente cruel con niños, embarazadas, perros. Es un pasquín de juego. Un juego así no puede ser un gran juego. Ni siquiera es disfrutable, es muy desagradable, solamente glorificado por quienes alaban ese nivel de violencia y la guardan dentro. Para las personas con mundo emocional normal este juego no es ni siquiera disfrutable, es un empalague y un sentimiento de contrariado constante, es muy agrio, y muy poco de él es realmente disfrutable. Para mí, no es ni un muy buen juego, sino uno bueno. 7, 7.5, y si estiramos un 8. Yo me quedo con el 7. El querer florear las cosas o dorar la píldora con "esto es un elemento distinto a las demás historias con el que han arriesgado mucho y eso tiene mérito" no me suma para divertirme ni disfrutar la historia, pavo, se lo digo en general al que piense en darle vueltas al juego analizando las cosas que puedan o no tener mérito que haya hecho distintas y por eso quiera subirle la nota al 10, que dejen de estar metidos en guerras de consolas, joder. Es como el jazz de los méritos gráficos de detallitos en los escenarios fotorealistas, son pajas mentales sin importancia. Este juego es como un trabajo malo, pesado, muy pesado. 7.

    Algunos Youtubers que son muy negativos con el juego en este caso tiene razón en varias cosas y en otras discrepo como decir que la historia es una basofia, no lo es, es buena, pero no es una gran cosa que podamos decir: concuerdo con ellos en que la música es casi inexistente, anti melódica y ambienta, pero lo hace de una forma muy tangencial y muy poco satisfactoria, casi genérica. Los efectos de sonido son bastante violentos, nada agradables, muy amarillistas.    … Expand

    After such a masterpiece from the the last of us, I never thought they could **** it up as badly as they did. This was one of my most anticipated games of this year but it turned into the most disappointing game of the last couple of years. Never again will I preorder anymore naughty dog games. Wait for the release and reviews from TRUSTED CRITICS and public reviews before buying.

    •The graphics are spectacular •The gameplay has improved over the original
    •The new infected designs are really good
    •The gore is great
    That’s where the positives end. The story here is borderline offensive if you loved the first game. Joel’s death is treated so horribly, Naughtydog seems to think it’s a good idea for Joel to act like a total dumbass after everything we saw from him in the first game. The gameplay and graphics aren’t enough to make up for a bad story. It would be acceptable if this wasn’t a linear, story-driven game. Everything seems to be going well after Joel’s death, Ellie acts out of character and Dina doesn’t really have a purpose besides being with Ellie. But you can get over that at first, you start to kill the people that wronged you. Then, later in the theater, Abby shows up just for the purpose of killing Jesse and giving Tommy a fake-out death. Right when it starts to escalate, you cut to playing as Abby.I don’t have a problem with seeing a villain’s point of view, but Abby gets as much playtime as Ellie. We got this game for Ellie, not for some cheeseburger **** Finally, after all that, you get to the final fight against Abby, you hurt her good, the fight gets brutal, but then, right when Abby is about to get what she deserves, Ellie lets her live. Ellie does this because she gets a flashback about Joel, even though, knowing her character, this would motivate her even more to kill Abby. Neil Druckmann absolutely butchered the story of this game, it’s pointless. I would rather forget this game exists than encourage anyone to buy it.    … Expand

    Joel no se comporta como una persona que se mantuvo sobreviviendo por 20 años en un mundo apocaliptico. Rescata una desconocida salvandole la vida, para que luego su hermano (exterrorista luciernaga) exponga los nombres de ambos a la desconocida. Para posteriormente decidir refugiarse con el grupo de abby (algo incluso mas peligroso).

    En cuanto a elli, esta chica se convirtio en progre hipter, odia a joel al enterarse que le salvo la vida porque no estaba dispuesto joel a dejar morir a quien mas amaba nunca mas. Ellie rompe la relacion padre hija que se forjo en la primera entrega. Uno pensaría que el lavado de cerebro de la lider lucienaga se le abría disipado debido a que ahora ellie había encontrado alguien que la amaba y protegia. Sin embargo persiste el echo de querer haber sido sacrificada por una posible nula cura, que habría sido un muerte en vano.

    Finalmente las motivaciones para continuar el juego son malas, Que sentido tiene querer vengar a Joel si ya no lo quieres? que sentido tiene querer vengarlo si están en depresión porque querías haber muerto por obtener una vacuna?

    No contentos con esto, te hacen jugar con la enemiga de ellie para 'empatizar' a la fuerza. que sentido tiene juegar con el enemigo si ni siquiera queremos matarlo( la relacion de joel y ellie estaba muerta y ella con depesion) xd
    Despues tienes que combatir con ellie siendo la enemiga, te hacen ver la enemiga (abby) como una angel victima y a ellie como una loca sádica sin sentido.

    Varios sabemos que el final es una mierda, osea nulo sentido perdonar quien mato a quien se supone que amas mientras te arranca dos dedos que después no te dejan tener lo único que le pudo dejar joel (tocar la guitarra). Bien mierda el final, después de matar a todos los amigos xd    … Expand

    Excelentes gráficos para una horrible historia, con un horrible final. Absurda y sin sentido. Carece de lógica en la toma de decisiones de los personajes principales. Junto con ello se hace el intento de empatizar con otros mediante el uso obligado de dichos personajes.

I hated her so much I was throwing her off the roof just to make me feel better. I wanted to get back into the revenge story I was so engrossed in but when it was taking longer than I thought it should, I checked online to see how long I would have to play Abby for.. to my absolute horror It was 6 hours of gameplay.. I have been trying for weeks to get back on to play it, but it's a chore every time now. I doubt I'll finish it. I really tried to give it a chance but the story just makes no sense anymore. Killing Joel was **** yeah, but having to play Abby was pure torture.. The story lost all appeal at this point and no matter how many times I tried to play as Abby - I hated her. I had no motivation to move forward in the game because I couldn't feel anything for this character other than annoyance and hate. The last thing I wanted to do is try and understand her goals and motivations - I didn't care. Disappointed. I agree that the game feels ruined… Expand

They could have played an epic game, with Joel and Ellie in a more mature relationship, who knows until his death, but in a dignified way, like a warrior he was, and not with a simple coadjuvant. They could have written an intelligent, captivating script as in the first game, but they preferred to try to break the expectation, and the result was total rubbish. If the graphic design was not so beautiful, this game would be a total failure, honestly, I would like to get my money back.… Expand

    Let me say my credentials so you don't think i'm a 'troll' or 'right wing bot'.

    I played The Last of Us on PS3, then got it on PS4. It became a game i would return to again and again, i played the game 6 times. Multiplayer was very fun and i happily spent hundreds of hours in the mode. I was hyped, i followed every development that the game had, nearly bought the collectors edition, but settled on the deluxe edition. With all that out of the way, i have to describe my experience.

    I stayed up late, i was in the discord of the subreddit, watching as the minutes ticked down. I was one of the first to enter the game. I was excited, I've only seen one spoiler and it was minor. I got into the game, and... i was blown away, the graphics and stuff. I remember Joel and Ellie's relationship being kinda rocky in the start. Then i was so so on the new characters, Then, i saw Joel's death. I was hoping it was going to happen later on in the game, as the marketing showed Joel alive in Seattle, so i thought maybe he was alive but brained damaged/coma. I had to stop there because it was a awful way to die, but it fits the universe. I picked back up in the morning, i wanted revenge, and i went out of my way to kill every WLF patrol in game play, i didn't feel any remorse over who Ellie killed, as she was acting in self defense. The flashbacks were amazing, between Joel and Ellie hit the right balance between good writing and character development. The only flashback that felt off because of little talking that happened was when Ellie goes back to salt lake hospital and learns what happens. We get 3 sentences and it's a shatter relationship. Then we get to the most meh of meh parts, Abby's entire section.

    Oh boy, Abby has no goal. The Entire. God. Damn. Time. Her flashbacks were nice, i really liked Owen out of the new cast, Smart, resourceful and pragmatic. Mel was the worst of the new cast, it makes no sense for her to be out in combat, the first thing that happens is she and everyone of the new cast gets AMBUSHED and she's out here thinking everything will be fine. Anyway back to Abby. This leads back into my theory of Part 1, a theory that was put out by Joseph Anderson in his review of the game, that the fireflys have no idea what the **** they are doing. I thought Part 2 would spend more time fleshing out this theory that the fireflys were bad, by replacing it with anything to make me care more about the group. Instead you see that they really are scum, they rather they sacrifice the only known case of immunity so they can excuse there own sins. They don't have the best interest in helping anyone. It's just a reactionary group trying to gasp there way back into relevance. It's not like the fireflys would be able to make this cure, or that they would give it out freely. Joel's choice was selfish, but looking at the bigger picture, it's good the best choice for humanity.

    I was really sad to learn that Part 2 doesn't try and disprove the theory i said above, as i think the writers want you to think that they are good, and Joel is bad bad man that 'doomed' humanity. So now we have Abby, a firefly member that would sacrifice herself to her cause, meanwhile, they don't even allow Ellie to have that choice. Anyway, when i was fighting Abby, i wanted her to die, i didn't want to hurt Ellie. The game forced me to win that encounter, because they knew if we played as Ellie, Abby would be dead. I think that alone is a failing of the games story, no matter what growth both characters went through.

    We had a entire game to like Joel and Ellie. We were given no backstory except key snippets of Abby's life. The parts relating to Ellie and Joel. What did she do to join the WLF? What was she doing in her time in the WLF? All of these questions are never answer or hinted at. the best guess you could do is that Abby is 'the best Scar killer' so killing people daily. It just fells like there is a ghost game that would have bridged the cap between Part 1 and Part 2 that would follow Abby and Abby only and at the very end hint at her coming after Joel. Then we have buildup and we like for sure both characters, not because they have kids, but because we could feel bad for them. WLF kill all trespasser, you think Abby's never had to shoot a family? If you think about it, the WLF is a Hunter group, a group of people who freely kill people within there territory. Instead of for supply's, for ??? why do they kill trespassers again? Could you image if aside from Scar's, they accepted outsiders in, just like Jackson? Could you imagine seeing the same **** you saw in Jackson in the WLF? Then it would be a lot more questionable, but nope, they send kill squads around to kill anyone that isn't WLF.

Nothing like I had hoped it would be,the game forces me to kill hundreds people and dogs then at the end when i finally have someone i want to kill they are protected by devs. Looks amazing but nothing else was that great, I had big fps drops and a couple crashes, I felt that I was not as free to go where or do missions as i had hoped for, I really wanted the combat to be changed or more offered i found it got old for me very fast, the way characters we have known just felt different/behaved differently then in last game.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have been a console gamer all my life. And when I play any game, my mom doesn't care what is on the TV. Then I played The Last of Us. Funny thing happened, my mom, after watching the intro (which was THE BEST INTRO EVER) stuck around the TV. And I noticed that everytime I play it, she sat down and watched. She was interested! For the first time ever! I was so happy that we connected on a video game even just once. It was special. When the credits rolled, She was asking is there a part 2? I said "maybe". The look on her face, I will never forget. Then TLOU2 was announced! Told my mom and she said "wow. I wanna see it!". My mom died 2019. So devastating.

    Picked up TLOU2 on release day after avoiding all the spoilers. Bittersweet since I can't show her anymore. But I was looking forward to playing it. Revisiting my memory of my mom while playing. Maybe imagining she was still watching with me. She was excited for it after all.

    Then the first hours of the game happened, doesn't make sense. Then the game ended with Ellie losing everything. . My mom loved these characeters.They were disrespected, and now half of the game I play as the person that destroyed the one video game my mom and I got connected to?     The good:
    The reason for three star for this so called masterpiece is 1) the game had absolutely **** gorgeous graphics in terms of attention to detail, scenery and also the gore 2) I really enjoyed the gameplay mechanics of the game even though after few hours into the game it gets **** boring. 3) This game made me appreciate and treasure the first game even more.
    (This next part is for all those who played the first game and is looking forward to playing this sequel)
    THE BAD:
    Whatever criticism I am gonna give this game is fully based on how **** of a storytelling the game had. I repeat I. Dont. Give. **** About. How. Characters. Look. Or. What. Gender. They. Are. I don't care about these type of things when I am playing a story driven game.
    For all those who enjoyed the first game because the ending of the game left it up to you decide whether what Joel did was right or wrong. For those who thought what Joel did was right this game shows the biggest middle finger to all you people as the whole purpose of this sequel was to manipulate you into thinking you are a horrible person for supporting and relating to Joel. The game shows you not only how he got killed but also forces you to play as the killer for the second half of the game and tries to make sure you sympathize with her and makes you believe that Joel was a **** person and deserve to die but never expands on why he was **** person besides the fact he killed a person to save person whom he sees as a daughter. The killer, Abby is so poorly written that she is willing to go full on pyschopath on Joel because he killed her dad ( because he was trying to save Ellie but **** you for supporting that **** even though he saved Abby just minutes ago but proceeds to kill people from her own group just to save two kids who were in fact from the enemy faction just because they rescued her a few days earlier. Abby proceeds to kill a pregnant character but only stops because one of the kids tells her not to. The true psychopath in this game is Abby and the second game is made just to make sure you should sympathize with this pyschopath and if you don't you don't support women empowerment. This games makes you kill people for the sake of the story then tells you are a piece of **** for doing it. It tries to be complex and rich but ended up being stupid and manipulative towards a certain character. I am fine with Joel dying for the story but they could have done so much more. Like actually spend some time in the flashbacks and show us what type of **** person he was but no, they choose to flashbacks where he was trying to have a father and daughter bonding with Ellie. They went to the extreme extend to show you how good of person Joel was and then tells you that you are a piece of **** for agreeing with Joel when he tried to save someone he loves. The story would have been way better if they just revealed Joel's death at the end when Abby and Ellie meet in the theater. They could have started of showing Ellie was hunting for a person in Seattle because they killed somebody she loved because at this point we still be thinking it was Dina (personally Dina served no purpose whatsoever in the Seattle). At this we could have keep switching between Ellie and Abby as both them continued what they were doing with their lives in the three days in Seattle. We could have seen how Abby reacted with her friends and the next scene we will play as Ellie killing off those friends. And when they finally meet at the theater, it's only then we find out it was actually Joel who got killed and not Dina. This would have been a twist worth playing for. We could have cut off so much of unnecessary time and boring fetch quests and the game wouldn't have been this bloated and dragging. As person with **** internet connection, I play mostly single player games because for the sake of the story. The first game made me think for myself on what is right and what is wrong and what is the fine line in between. This sequel exist to manipulate and forces you to agree with what it thinks is right and wrong. The characters should work around the story but sadly this story made to suit, glorify and sympathize with only one character. The worst part of this game is the fact that I can't even remember whether Joel knew why he died. I don't remember Abby telling him that he killed her father. I don't even think Elie knows why Abby killed Joel. (Please do correct me if I am wrong on this) I am only writing this review because this game broke me mentally and I needed a place to talk about this cuz none of my group of people are heavily invested in videogames especially single player.    … Expand

    Big fan of TLOU, will defend part 1 as the best ps4 game ever even the online was fun. TLOU2 visually was great but the story is what really drove me off the edge... unfortunately it didn't deliver and hopefully they can fix it down the line maybe. 2/10 and that hurts for me to rate this low but it is what it is.

He trusts Abby for no reason, and casually reveals his name. "oH, bUt jOeL liVEd in pEaCE fOr 5 yEarS." No. You completely brush aside the 25+ years of hardened surviving he went through.     The direction they went with this story completely ruined the franchise. Plus the demo they showed at a conference completely suggested the story would go differently. Gameplay is great and much like TLOU1.
    Graphics are incredible.
    Level design is nice.
    Music is good.
    AI could be better.

    after the 3rd day end and we had to play as Abby we didn't want to support Joe's killer. we just want to know why Ellie had to lose against her. why Ellie saved her if she supposed to kill her. I am willing to bet that 9 times out of 10, you will agree with my user review. If you want play-ability and good story telling then I would recommend either getting Ghost of Tsushima . Please note that I am just a stranger who has been playing many games since the early 80s and has nothing to gain by being dishonest. I have never reviewed anything before but felt passionately about this specific one, as I could not sit back any longer and allow the makers of this game lie to everyone anymore.     When I was 4, I grew up playing whatever video games I could get my hands on. I’ve become a fan of several amazing, immersive single player games like PS4 Spiderman, Uncharted Series and Crash Bandicoot. A newly released single player game called The Last of US Part 2, a sequel to the Last of US created and directed by Neil Druckmann, was a very anticipated game of the year for gamers. Before I get into it, a major leak about the game was exposed that fans were upset about. Many were quite eerie on buying the game because of this, but I decided to pre-order the game anyways because I was excited for it. In the end, once I had finished the game, I came to the conclusion that this game was Beautifully Flawed! However, I wasn’t alone.

    After a few weeks following its release, The Last of US Part 2 has seen a spectacular amount of reviews with thousands -- if not millions -- of polarizing standpoints. According to Metacritic, a forum of reviews similar to rotten tomatoes but mainly for video games, revealed that The Last of US 2 (for short) had over 100,000 reviews which is insane for one video game with people either really -- and I mean really -- hating or loving the game .

    The game has been polarizing due to Joel’s death because of the type of sendoff he got. To summarize, Joel and his brother Tommy find a girl named Abby and all three were being overrun by infected in a snowy hideout in the mountains. During their escape, Tommy decides to reveal their names to Abby. Eventually they make it out and the brothers meet Abby’s group. Suddenly, Abby shoots Joel with a shot gun, while others in the group severely injure Tommy. Joel is then beaten to death with a golf club by Abby with Ellie, her father figure, watches hopelessly. Many fans were angry that they saw Joel coldly killed off with no honorable or awesome death. This polarizing moment initially led fans to hate the game and even give one the idea to Cut the Disk in Half with Scissors (YouTube: Skippa). I was fine, but very distraught when that happened.

    Another sorrowful moment is portrayed through the games parallel of characters when it brings you to a shocking climax that players can’t do anything about. Halfway through the game, the player is brought to a very big and sorrow climax where one of Ellie’s best friends dies by the enemy her group was trying to hunt and kill. When I least expected it, Neil Druckmann made a bold move and decided to switch the point of view of the supposed antagonist Abby and you play her the same amount of time as you do Ellie. When Druckmann switched the POV of Abby, he created a parallel showing the similarities of Abby and Ellie between what happened in the first game. Many fans didn’t like that switch because the bad guy kills a good person and we the player are to feel sorry from her perspective from last game’s events. What Druckmann did was very bold – so bold, that a good number of fans of the game decided to stop playing it.

    Despite the sadness, there are still fantastic things in the game players will enjoy. The gameplay itself is fantastic. The graphics are jaw dropping, the audio is creepily crisp! As an avid gamer, and after reading a myriad of reviews, I can understand why reviews are so different from each other. Gamers and Reviewers, I know will agree that this game offers a new realistic sense that is improving with time.

    Once you finish the game you won’t come out happy. In fact, you’ll probably ask yourself if this game was worth it because of how sad and dark it was. In all honesty, the game was Beautifully Flawed. Fantastic with sound, graphics, enemies, as well as some meaningful characters within the game and the different plot points. Flawed because revenge is never always the answer and closure allow people to move forward. Overall, this game is something I would highly recommend not because of the zombie gameplay, but because of how unique and bold the story was as this was the first story in any type of film that I have seen that’s brought storytelling to a new level.    … Expand

    1st. Im gonna address the biggest counter argument that most people at naughty dog seem to claim when they see a bad score/review against the game: Politically Im very much left leaning pro-gay rights, pro lgtb and very much a advocate for do what makes you happy and be whoever you want if it makes you happy person. However , then comes this game set in a end of the word scenario whose main character Ellie is gay with her girlfriend. So far seems fine with me here, they could have made a beautiful love story tying these 2 characters together and bringing the fans even closer to Ellie and this new lover or hers. Then you have Dina, another gay/bi character getting in a relationship with Ellie. Ok fine. Good representation to the LGBT community and a decent love story could have made these two glow in recognition from everyone. Then you have Abby an unlikely character possible in "the end of the world" with muscles that consume 10,000 calories a day and require 3 hours at the gym daily. This is where the problems start, ok so now we have another gay character that everyone ends up hating but ok. So the 3 main characters are gay/lgtb. Then you have a 4th character Lev that joins Abby that TURNS OUT is ANOTHER LGTB character than joins and become part of the main story line. Now up until now you could let things pass, but now you throw you hands up in the air tired of the PANDERING and at this point PREACHING of this whole social justice warrior intentional normalization "agenda" being shoved down your throat in a game that you just want to play to have fun. Everyone easily recognized as straight was killed off. however in a apogalactic game with just a few thousand people alive in the US, and in this world , the only survivors are the gay people. like REALLY??? These people have become exactly the type of person that they had set out to destroy.

    Now in regards to the game. Best word to describe it :Terrible!

    Let be realistic here, just as the first game, This is not a game with incredible gameplay and amazing in depth content. This Part 2 and it was part 1, is a game Heavily STORY DRIVEN. Is a game that will redact the characters in a form that you can empathize with them learn to love them or to hate them. I remember in the first game me continuously had me laughing and going at Ellie :"What the hell is up with this little **** as a response to her snarky and Whitty attitude that was just a front for her ever growing fatherly love towards Joel. In this game Ellie has lost all personality and likeness , basically an Emmo Young Woman that kills and murders with no reassuring reason as to why. Joel was murdered and deleted from his main role 2 hours into the game. This was the biggest mistake. Im not against killing Joel just against how they did it without adding any real meaning and value to the story. Sure revenge was the underlying tone for Ellie to hunt Abby but there were so many deviations that it just felt like that really wasn't the driving force in the game and much less when YOU SEE THE ENDING!! HOLY **** What kills the story mainly is the addition of this Abby Character. The killer of Joel who they make you play for half of the game while you are hating her for just killing your previous main character. There is so much more I could put down but this is more than enough to hate any story driven games.

    The only good thing about this game is the amazingly beautiful graphics and sounds details. I did love the gore of the game and the individualistic setting of the enemies calling themselves by names all the time, which made it even more closer to real life. In my opinion First play the first game then go to Ebay and buy a used copy of this game. Dont give your money to this company for atrociously destroying an amazing franchise.

    I could have given this game a 6/10 but after seeing how many "Professional" Reviews Naughty Dog bought , I will counter with what they really deserve. 0/10    … Expand

I did enjoy the graphics, combat and the environment of this game but it doesn't do anything new which hasn't been shown by any forms of entertainment. The classic cycle of revenge which has been done with both the walking dead a new frontier , the TV series from the same name and a movie named "Circle of revenge" with the same theme. The reason why i liked the first game so much was because we see build up relationship from start to end over a long period of time between Joel and Ellie and in the end a man could kill the entire world even if it means to save his child. However , the sequel basically kills of Joel in a dumb way within the first 2 hours of the game. Tommy being a survivor for so long and having enough personality to be trusted with protecting an entire community as we see in the first game yet he manages to give his name to an entire group named WLF which was dumb , if the character development was consistent then this wouldn't have happened because no matter how your character progresses , he/she don't forget their instincts for example Kratos. We have also seen how Neil's theme of "realism" isn't good since he basically had a very muscular woman named Abby whose workout schedule was debunked by real life dietitians and also a fat man from rattlers. There are also very dumb narrative moments like Tommy not seeing the map Ellie dropped due to being in a shock after killing pregnant Mel or when Dina basically ignores that Ellie is immune and the talk goes straight to her being pregnant while that immune topic not having any importance.I get why Ellie didn't kill Abby but this part was a lot of stretch , it also doesn't make any sense imo considering that she only realized that revenge wouldn't solve anything when she was about to drown Abby and not when she killed Mel or when she killed Nora or even when she killed a lot of people on the island beforehand. Lev's character development was also very inconsistent , he goes from not wanting to kill anymore after killing her mother and watching her sister die to helping Abby in extracting down her revenge against Ellie for killing Owen.… Expand

    Naughty Dog was kind enough to let the player jump a new character off of a cliff and die before they got into any mischief. This choice makes the game only about an hour long, but much more satisfying.

    I can proudly say it "subverted my expectations" to the point where I no longer want to play anything directed or written by Neil Druckmann. I dont give a **** about the LGBTQ community representation, I just think the characters were either inconsistent or boring. Oh and the plot is entirely stupid and visibly had no revision by anyone whatsoever cough cough bruce straley

    The masterpiece that is the first game had my expectations incredibly high as I was prepared for another story featuring my favorite characters. I was immediately let down from the first few hours of gameplay, and grew to dislike this game the more I played it. I was incredibly disappointed by this poorly written sequel.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I give it four out of ten. One point for the visuals. One point for the music and sounds. Two points for the flashbacks with Ellie and Joel. The rest was pretty pathetic in my opinion. First off, the end left me empty, no joy, happiness, or hope. I bought this to entertain me but feel like I was slapped in the face, over and over again. Foolishly I kept playing thinking it would get better. Second, who thought it would be a great idea to make players play as Abby?!? Bad move! I feel like the 40% or so playing as Abby was a complete waste of time. This is not what we signed up for. To drag it out as long as her part is was stupid. I get it, you were supposed to start to like Abby. Well, that didn't work. What makes it even worse is you have to play as Abby when up against Ellie. Just why?!?

    Finally, the story felt like it was missing parts, liked they had to cut things out to complete the game on a schedule. The artwork that's in the bonus section somewhat backs this up since there are pictures of things that didn't make it into the game but probably should have been. It will be interesting to hear the behind the scenes discussions. Perhaps some of that is mentioned there. The writing didn't feel as solid as in part one.

    Overall, the game mechanics, audio and visuals are where they need to be. The story was not what I had hoped for and not anywhere near as good as part one. I wont be playing this again for sure. Not surprisingly Gamestop will only pay like sixteen bucks for it after just a few months. I guess this will sit on a shelf and collect dust reminding me how's bad it is.     Every fan from the first time has every right to be upseat about how crappy the second game is compared tho the rly good first game which we grew to love and hyped the **** out of us.     The gameplay is just as good if not better than the last of us, the story made me want to vomit,
    The characters are unlikable, the beginning scenes turn the uncomfortable levels so far beyond the uncomfortable scenes in the first game there is no return to typical. The entire game is marred by awful uneasiness.
    I didn't believe it was possible to like Negan in walking dead after his introduction but somehow JDM managed to charm his way into a likable character after a few seasons. DO NOT EXPECT THIS OF ABBY! She is unlikable through the entire game and does not once do anything that makes you forget how awful she is and how brutally she killed Joel, You feel physically ill when you actually have to play as her again and hate every moment of it.
    I'm so glad this game has bombed as badly as it did. Maybe we will be lucky enough not to get another one. It's astonishing how badly a developer can drop the ball on a franchise.    … Expand

I couldn't believe Naughty Dog just outright destroyed this game franchise.     Without a doubt the worst story I have ever played. It's about the equivalent of a robber taking everything I have then burning down my house. Then, when I confront him I am told everything I had was donated to charity and that I should praise him for such a noble act.

    REVIEW EM PORTUGUÊS:

    Uma das maiores decepções no mundo dos jogos.

    O começo é totalmente sem sentido e tedioso, tendo em mãos que você anda mais que joga, a introdução da história é totalmente desconexa com o primeiro jogo, quando se trata da morte do Joel, já que no primeiro jogo ele é um paranoico que não confia em ninguém e no segundo ele já entrega o nome dele para uma desconhecida, e acaba morto por isso.
    A parte em que a Ellie e a Dina juntam para fumar maconha na hora da patrulha (isso mesmo, chaparam na hora da patrulha) é outra parte que não faz o menor sentido, visto que elas tinham uma tarefa no momento.

    A gameplay do jogo é muito "cinemática", quando você faz um ataque corpo a corpo contra um inimigo, você pode estar a metros dele, mesmo assim tem uma força gravitacional que te puxa para o inimigo para que você continue o ataque.
    O jogo é de exploração, mas parece que ele não quer que você explore, toda vez que você "demora" muito para explorar certa área, e o jogo coloca um botão de dica na tela, fazendo o jogador de trouxa.
    Também tem um uso excessivo de quick time events, por exemplo: tem certas partes em que você precisa abrir uma porta, mas está emperrada, então você precisa apertar quadrado duas vezes para abri-la, e isso o jogo INTEIRO.

    A história não é das melhores mas também não é tão ruim, só acho que eles deram um foco muito grande na relação da Dina com a Ellie que pareceu algo forçado para chamar atenção de um certo público. A Dina é uma personagem com um carisma forçado, e muito chata, não para de falar por um minuto sequer.
    Quando você chega em certo ponto do jogo, você joga quase que toda a campanha novamente só que com a Abby, a antagonista, o jogo tenta fazer o jogador entender o ponto de vista da Abby mas só mostra que ela é uma brutamonte psicopata que não tem remorso nem de matar o próprio povo.
    Quando você termina de jogar a parte da Abby, o jogo já está quase no final, mas você não tem aquele sentimento de que está acabando, e quando sobem os créditos você fica com uma impressão de "é só isso?".

    Meus únicos pontos positivos sobre o jogo são o gore, que é sensacional e visceral, a direção de arte, que é uma das melhores que eu já vi em um jogo, aquela parte da fazenda é linda, e por fim, os gráficos que são muito bons, e não confundam o ingame com as CGs, já que o jogo transita muito bem quando precisa.

    Em conclusão, não é um bom jogo, você consegue se divertir em algumas partes mas a maior parte do jogo é extremamente chata e tediosa.

    ENGLISH REVIEW:

    One of my biggest disappointments about gaming.

    The begging is extremely boring, too much walking and awful dialogues and nonsense events (like Joel's death and Ellie smoking weed while she had important things to do at that moment, like wtf she was thinking??).

    The gameplay is too "fake", when you attack a enemy it seems that there is this gravitational force that pulls you to the enemy so you can kill him. The game is about exploring but it seems that it doesn't want you to explore it, because every time you take too long exploring, the game gives you a tip button, and this is so ridiculous, making the player an idiot.
    There is also this overuse of quick time events, for example: there are many times in the game where you are opening a door but the door is stuck, so you need to press the square button two times, and it happens through the whole game, it's so annoying.

    The story isn't that bad but is not also good, Dina is one of the most annoying and terrible character I've ever seen in a videogame, she doesn't stops talking for a single minute during the walkthroug, and the game is always focusing in Ellie and Dina's relationship when it isn't something that important to the story, it gave me the impression of trying to call certain people attention.

    When you get in certain point of the game, you have to play it all again but with Abby, that is the game's antagonist. They try to make you understand Abby's point of view but they just show you that Abby is just a freak psychopath that doesn't even cares about killing her own people.
    When you finish to play the whole Abby's part, the game is near to the end, but the game doesn't even cares about showing the player that you are almost in the end, you don't have that feeling of finishing a game.

    My only positive points to this work is the gore, that is just amazing, the graphics that are great and the art direction that is one of the best i have ever seen in gaming industry.

    In conclusion, is not a good game, there are some fun parts, but the biggest part of the game is extremely boring.
