The first game made us love it because of the graphics, the music, the way of playing, how we could enjoy going hand by hand with Joel and Ellie.... because that was the best point, the story, how we were able to love those amazing characters and their relationship..... this "part two" is the worst we can get. No matter what they tried to do with new graphics, music and everything else. THE STORY IS NOT WORTH. If the point that made the game one of the best we've ever played is such a trash, because I can't call it other way, then the game was FOR NOTHING, they sent to waste all the work and effort, including all the hopes we fans had since seven years ago. Maybe someone who didn't play the first part could do something with this game, but not people like me who had fallen in love whit the first one. I won't ever recommend this game, o the opposite, ignore it as if it never existed, that's what I can say about a game that in only two hours vanished my will to continue playing, a game I paid for just to ended up wanting to just throw away and forget I ever tried.

And a little comment to add, some people say we give bad record because of DIFFERENT SEXUAL ORIENTATION, well the answer is NO, that has nothing with hate to the subject. The first game made it clear, that Ellie is strong, that she knows how to fight, and how to love people too. In the DLC it was completely clear who she was, we LOVE her, and we love Joel too, we love the story of how they met, how they could trust each other and how they saved each other in so many ways.

The game was a master piece adding all. I can't tell in just this message how sad I am after this situation. I wish the second part was never announced so I could treasure the real game it was.

The story is tries so hrd to be original and profound, but it ends up on a note that makes the whole 25 hours spent on the game pointless,. It is pretty obvious to me that The Last Of Us Part II in order to follow a very specific political agenda, loses elements which made the first game so unique and playable. Tue Smart characters have begun acting dumb, plot twists that just make playing the game unbearable have been added and at the end of the dah this so called "masterpiece" concludes to a very generic message that most of the people plahing it, already hve in mind. It’s high quality but the story missed the mark. I genuinely have never been so disappointed and miserable playing a game. The goal was to make you empathize with Abby and by the end you should have understood why Ellie let her go. It simply failed to do that. Parts of the game were way too drawn out or just didn’t even need to be included. Of course there were parts of the game that I enjoyed but I did not enjoy it as much as I could have. Graphics, what do you expect? games dont really have bad graphics anymore so im not impressed.
    Gameplay? copy and paste.
Storyline? eh, has its ups and downs, i hate agenda-pushing in a game, and this game is no exception, i don't care if a game has this stuff in there, but it was almost completely unnecessary.

What can I say about this game... let's start with the positive. Graphically it's really great, and I think they've made the best out of this console generation. I love those games like Uncharted, Horizon or GoW where you can just stand here and look at the view.
Unfortunately, that's not everything in a game... And a really good game can also be ugly, just like a beautiful game can be bad.
Let's talk about gameplay. Despite it's an aging gameplay that fits well to this kind of play, we can see some improvements compared to 1, without distorting it. I rather liked it.
The problem is that this "soft" gameplay is acceptable in 1 because we are always emotionally affected by the game, and we want to take our time for everything. Which is clearly not the case in 2.
In addition to not being very dynamic (even if it's quite realistic, we must admit it) the gameplay is repetitive, boring, boring again. You don't have fun, and you don't really want to linger to finish this chore as quickly as possible.
And here we goes with the story... Joel... honestly? It's a shame what you did with it, and I was prepared for his death, but the way you did it...
And killed by Abby? Really? One of the random kids of one of the many random guys killed by Joel? That's the best you could come up with? How about an orphan club? They could even raise an army considering the number of guys I've murdered only in the firefly hospital.
We're forced to play Abby next, who has no charisma, nothing for her. We don't want to play her, less appreciate her, and they try to force us to love her, to have compassion for her, positive feelings... Force us to have feelings... Isn't that rape? Yes, it is. For me it was, it was really boring to play. And long! I couldn't take it anymore.
We're being forced to beat the crap out of Ellie, the last thing I wanted to do... which almost got me to shut down the game without finishing it anyway. Fortunatly you don’t force me to kill Joel, my PS4 would have fly over the window.

And then what? The end? After all of that? I almost expected at the farmhouse scene that Abby would become their best friend / neighbor. Scandalous, we went on a quest for revenge, only to have Ellie save her worst enemy and lose everything she had left in the process, including the last link she had with Joel?
Well done, well done, well done ><

All points of this note are for the incredible graphics, and the nostalgia of being back in this universe. At least for the first two hours of play.

If ever there was a desire to completely destroy a fan base for a true masterpiece, then this is the shining example. It can't be denied that the graphics and presentation are stunning - although green and grey does get pretty tiresome after 20 hours no matter how good it looks!

However even then it still has many many faults - the gameplay is far too repetitive and artificially drawn out. The writing is cringe worthy awful with plot holes the size of the grand canyon and I found myself bored and completely disinterested through large parts of the game.

But the main issue here is that players aren't playing the sequel to The Last Of Us for the graphics, heck they aren't even playing it for the gameplay - they are playing it for the story and characters. And this is where it all comes crashing down like a hurricane.

Aside from what actually happens and what the player is forced to do and play as, it cannot be denied by the developer the sheer amount of deception created in the build up to the release.

Players expected a certain experience and through the developer's selfish actions they seemingly set out to ensure the exact opposite of this would happen.

As a stand-alone game titled something like Abby's Tale set in it's own unique game world, this would have been a more than acceptable game. The problem is, it isn't and as a 'The Last Of us' game, that is unforgivable and it fails spectacularly.

This is may or may not be an unpopular opinion but I don't think the last of us part 2 should've been made. At least not with the same characters from the first one. Without spoilers here are just the main reasons:

    False advertising

Characters were acting way out of character Plot holes (there is a lot)

Story telling pacing did not work with game play. (You could watch the cut-scenes and get the same story.) The interactions are either very litter or none.

Game was forcing way to many politics/opinions

    Goals were hypocritical for characters

I have more but I would need to get into spoilers.

I know a lot of people are going to say its because of certain things in the game or things that take place in the first act but this is truly not the case. From a screen writing perspective this is still bad writing, and forced perspectives.

It also teaches nothing new and its a story that has been done over and over again. Just because it puts shock value throughout doesn't make it good writing. In fact in my opinion its lazy.
I read the writer from the last game was not involved and it shows. Too many characters are introduced but nothing ever comes of them. Old character don't act like their prior selves.
The focus of the story shifts trying to make you feel a certain way but a lot of people overlook a certain lack of humanity in another character so it doesn't make sense to compare them.

I will say I don't think I would've been so hard on the game if it wasn't purposely falsely advertised. They also seem to hide behind certain communities for defense but they have nothing to do with many peoples opinion/review for the game.

Lastly one thing I really hate is people are saying its just the fan base that is upset. This is not the case as if you go to any major critic site. The Last of Us received nothing but praise. But I would say this one deserves its low rating. Some people will enjoy it but to be honest, this is not some deep writing. Its lazy and forced and uses a cheap trick to try and manipulate the way you feel.

The Last of Us was a great game. I never was forced to feel, I just did while playing. This game tried to tell me how to feel and I didn't. If this story was told a different way I would not hate it so as much but as it stands, its the worst game Naughty Dog has ever made. I hope they learn from the feedback.

Positives: AI was great, Graphics were amazing, Music amazing as always, voice acting superb! But the story is the most important part in these types of games so with that I give it my honest opinion. 4/10.

The Last of Us should have been the last in the series.

I don't have a problem with whatever agenda this game pushed, I have a problem with the story overall. Sorry, but if someone broke into your house and killed your dog, would you forgive them, or go John Wick on them? No one wanted to play as Abby, no one wanted to understand her side. The only reason I am giving this game a two is because obviously the graphics are were going to be phenomenal. In all reality, I should be giving it a zero considering I can't return this game. first half of the game is decent enough because at least your Ellie going after Joel's killers but then you get thrown into a crap story playing as the person who kills Joel, HORRIBLE writing.
and the icing on the cake is that SJW's need to push their agenda and have multiple trans in the game when they are there so they can feel better about themselves, if it actually added to the story or gameplay then it could be acceptable.
NaughtyDog is going down a dangerous path and wont be surprised when they go bankrupt 99% of people stop playing their games just so they dont have to have agendas pushed down their damn throat

Gameplay wise, it's okay. Nobody ever played Last of Us for gameplay. It was all cinematic gaming. I don't understand what they did with the story. These characters are nothing like the ones in the previous installment. I think if they wanted to change the character behavior like this then a reboot would've been better.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Highly disappointing game. Gameplay has not changed since part one - if you did not like it, you won't like it here either. The best qualities are the graphics and the level design, yet it's hard to enjoy them when faced with stale gameplay, boring puzzles and (most of all) the abysmal story. The second part of the game is painful to play. The developers tried really hard to make you like Abby, but everything about her story arc is uninteresting and forgettable. Her decisions make little sense, as do those of her friends.
To make it short - the story is so bad that I barely made myself finish the game. I played worse games, and the score TLOU2 deserves is about 5 or 6. But seeing the game journalists outright lie about this game giving it a perfect 100, I feel justified to give it a 2 (+1 for the graphics and +1 for the level design) to counter the bots and raving fanboys who keep giving it straight 10s.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. ‏At first I didn’t know whether to buy TLOU 2 or not due to the many negative reviews and many positive reviews, but I decided to to give it the benefit of the doubt. *Spoilers*. At first, the new characters introduced in the game I never really liked, cared or even remember them. The dialogue and chemistry between almost every character is horrible in my opinion. Except for Abby and Lev. I honestly enjoyed their story together, other than that nothing really. I felt like I was forced/supposed to like them just because Ellie does, unlike in most of the first game where you see the progression of Joel and Ellie’s relationship. When Joel died (obviously I was very sad) but at the same time I was excited. I knew Joel was going to die due to the trailers barely showing Joel and every time I heard anything about it was about Ellie. But I have to admit I didn’t think he was going to die this quick. I really didn’t like the pacing of the story. They showed Abby as the “bad guy” for most of the game, while playing as a character you knew and loved for 7 years! And then they wanted you play as and sympathize Abby. This was alright to me at first because of course in the The Last of Us universe there are no “good guys” nor “bad guys”. But every minute passes and it was more boring to me. I didn’t enjoy playing as Abby at all. Especially how most of her story and the reason why she killed Joel was being played in flashbacks. Talking about flashbacks. I didn’t hate all flashbacks. Like how they used flashbacks to show you how Joel told Ellie what he has done, I enjoyed them. Quite honestly I enjoyed all of them. But Abby’s flashbacks not at all. I think if they let you play all of Abby’s flashbacks at the very beginning, before she kills Joel. I think that would have been somewhat better. Most characters death are forgotten, by the other characters even the players themselves I’ve noticed. Nora, Manny, Mel, and Owen, I don’t recall Abby nor Ellie bringing them up, maybe just once. But for characters that are supposed to be one of the “protagonist’s friend group” that’s really low. Secondly, the AI in this game I didn’t enjoy, I played the game on Hard, Medium, and Easy. The enemy’s difficulty barely changed, but the amount of resources and bullets did change within each difficulty. I’ve barely on all difficulties saw the enemy attack one of my allies. (Something the first game excels in by the way) and they always focused you no matter what. Sometimes the enemy AI locks and just hides even though you’re just sanding or running. (Yet again something the first game did brilliantly). Don’t know about humans but if you had the high ground near zombies, they’ll rarely get up to you. And if they do, most of the time they fall down.

Thirdly, the gameplay is just as good as the first game. They added the dodging but it was very buggy for me and didn’t work as supposed to. Fourthly, glitches in the game was something common in the game. A random burst wrong colours were shown. I.e; A rusted grey drawer that magically has a very bright white lower drawer. Same thing with desks, beds, even garages. And sometimes a dark blue or black square of grass that’s surrounded by green grass. I also randomly got out of the map twice. Finally, some positives about the game is quite obviously, the graphics, they sometimes made me forget how much I hated the story. I liked the realistic physics in the game. Most voice actors were fantastic. All in all, if you enjoyed the game, good for you. And I’m really happy that you wasted your time on a game you liked. And I’m not saying that you’re completely wrong and I’m 100% correct. I’m just stating what I felt while playing the game and hope that you understand why I didn’t enjoy the game. I didn’t dislike it because I’m following other people hating on it. I came into the game neutral. And I didn’t enjoy it at all.

I’d honestly give it somewhere between 2.7 and 3.3.

TLOU Part 2 is a very polished game with fantastic visuals and presentation. I was absolutely awed by all the little details and couldn't believe that it was running on my PS4 Slim.

However, the game eventually gets to a point where it's story is terribly annoying to me, the player, that it is hard to treat it seriously even with how great the game looks and feel.

As many know, the game badly represents it's established characters. Players will question the actions of the characters and it is hard to believe that the same characters that the players knew will do what they do in Part 2.

Some (including Druckmann himself) will try to argue that these characters are not out of character at all, and that the time skip to Part 2 has changed them. But it sounds like a pretty weak argument to me. The game does not attempt to show or hint you on the changes to any of these characters. Why should the players study into something not shown or hinted to them and speculate a reason that could never be confirmed (unless through a DLC) to justify a questionable action in the game?

Not to mention that Druckmann eventually fires at the players for thinking that they understand the character more than him when they don't, which is such a cheap shot. If the character development was not shown in the game and the writer(s) has to clarify it during an interview, this is just a failure in storytelling on their part.

Next big issue. You play as another character named Abby for almost half of the game. I really don't think this should be considered a spoiler since shes almost like a secondary protagonist. The general idea of playing as Abby is that the game wants you to like her as a character and sets you off on a journey similar to that of TLOU 1.

The issue with this experience is that it feels extremely forced and there does not seem to be a clear direction with this. A good half of Abby's part is almost pointless to the overarching story that people are interested in, other than, look, she has friendly friends and do everyday people good things. The other half involves her going on a journey while caring for younger and vulnerable people like how Joel's relationship to Ellie in the first game.

However, this journey was so poorly executed that it becomes apparent that the game is trying to get you to like her. In the first game, we understand that Joel has a hardened personality because of his daughter's death and his journey with Ellie helped him to break out of his shell and allowed him to accept and face his past. This is likely why we liked him, as we see him go through these development with Ellie, and it rarely feels like the game is trying to force us to like Joel.

Abby's journey on the other hand feels meaningless. She is pretty much the same character before and after the journey. Her journey started on the premise that, "They saved me, so I have to save them", which doesn't say much about her character, she could have been like this the whole time. Eventually she continues to care for the younger character simply because they both has nowhere else to go.

Asides from the poor execution of the journey. Abby also makes very questionable and unlikable decisions in the game. So it feels like the game wants you to like her, but at the same time, the writers don't seem to understand what is unlikable, or that they overestimated how players would have overlooked those actions.

Overall, it really seems like something that was written on a whim with little care to the story details.

I'll start this review out by saying I didn't enjoy the gameplay of The Last of Us 1 very much. Zombies are a very overused and drawn out horror trope and the first game didn't really do anything to make the gameplay stand out very much in terms of survival third person shooter games. The one thing that honestly carried the sub par experience in my opinion was the story. Unfortunately, this game drops the ball with both aspects. The gameplay isn't changed much aside from things that make it annoying, like human enemies having invincibility frames when they melee attack you and new zombie types that are uninspired and even more annoying to deal with than the normal zombies. The stealth gameplay is literally the same as it was in the first game except now stealth areas are in front of loading doors that make you do a prompt for 10 seconds or so to open a door that has some debris in the way or something. It's also a little too hard in my opinion, I don't consider myself to be particularly bad at stealth games, and I was playing the game on normal difficulty, but I kept finding myself getting discovered during almost every stealth section because of how densely packed the areas are with enemies. The gunplay is fine, and I didn't really mind it much but it's not anything special either. Every time a zombie section came around I audibly groaned because I loathed them so much. The zombies are not fun to fight in this game, especially because the clickers still one hit kill you, which I found to be annoying and cheap in the first game, and the others will grapple you which forces you to preform a quick time event to escape while your health steadily drains. I was really relying on the story to at least be somewhat close to the quality the original had, but to no avail. None of the newly introduced characters in this game are likable aside from Yara and Lev. Every other character essentially has 2 personality traits that they cling to like glue. Abby falls into this as well and essentially goes from very unlikable to somewhat unlikable throughout the course of the game. Decisions that previously established characters make in this game made me roll my eyes because they were so sudden and out of character. The game also tries its absolute hardest to make you feel bad for the actions you preform throughout the story but with such unlikable characters and them trying so very hard to make the player feel bad it just doesn't work out. I essentially enjoyed three sections of this game and that's about it. The rest was just a gray puddle of indifference in my mind. The graphics are really beautiful though, I guess I can give the developers that. This is a pretty game for sure. Overall though there's not very many things I can say I enjoyed about this game without getting into spoilers. Very disappointing sequel and I can see why so many people are upset with it. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. 1.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Abby did things that made her as bad as Ellie yet the story overlooked it, gave her a happy ending and constantly tried to emotionally manipulate the player into feeling sympathy towards her (One example being how it showed Abby freeing a zebra from barbed wires while you're forced to put down a dog while playing as Ellie making a comparison on how Abby is "Good to animals so she must be a misinterpreted saint) anyone who's "good" or "misunderstood" doesn't beat a person into a bloody pulp and force them to watch their surrogate father who they grew up with get killed in front of them in the most demeaning and brutal way. Even the only potential the story had of giving us a satisfying ending and redeeming its jumbled mess of story was ruined by Ellie leaving behind Dina and her child to go after Abby. She then proceeds to get her fingers bit off (making her not being able to play the guitar) and then in a totally unforeseen turn of events, lets Abby go and because she decided to be the better person and not start another cycle of revenge (Spoiler alert) SHE was the one that suffered in the end. Joel also did something similar, that thing is him saving Abby from the horde of infected and ultimately paying the price for it. It's as if the game is constantly chiding the characters it's trying to get you to dislike for being good people while at the same exact time chiding them based on actions they have been forced to take when they get stuck in a moral dilemma. while Abby, the bully that doesn't genuinely seem remorseful when faced with bad decisions she isn't even forced to take or is apathetic when someone outside her colourful and inclusive cast of friends dies, is constantly held in a moral high ground; never going through a redemption arc and is Immune to anything that makes her an evil person. Speaking of evil people, lets take a moment to talk about Joel, the redheaded stepdaughter of TLOU2. A Cynical and depressed old man whose daughter (Aka Ellie) was forcibly being experimented on (Sidenote: IDGAF about humanity being saved, that still wouldn't have condemned Ellie's death if it happened. Her life isn't any less important than a few hundred that will only continue to live in a dystopian society with infected roaming it) now in this universe's bleak moral values you would expect that saving your daughter and killing her captors is a sane thing to do, right? WRONG! Joel, a character loved by fans unlike Abby gets killed due to this action. Though say if Ellie *did* get killed by said captors wouldn't the masses immediately ignore the fact that they killed a 14-year-old girl and hail them as a heros (See the double standards here?). That's why the developers fail to make us players hate Joel. The death of those fireflies from the first game isn't something we cared about in the first game so why should we suddenly do now? This game is a visually stunning, polished hot garbage with a world that is in a constant existential crisis not able to decide whether it should be linear or open also the controls are so tediously easy that it makes you feel like you're watching an over-glorified Hollywood movie rather than playing a videogame. This game used to be praised for its "bittersweet" story even sparking the debate at the time it got released on whether or not video games should be considered art. but sadly that in no way applies to TLOU2 and TLOU2 deserves no way near a perfect score. Whoever gave it that just proved to everyone how an utter joke game journalism really is and how nobody should trust them when all they ever did was base their ratings on propaganda and personal "preferences" in the game that doesn't apply to the majority of it's intended audience. When Rockstar is able to pump out every 5 years or so a game with phenomenal storytelling yet make it a perfect open-world sandbox then it becomes clear that whoever spent 7 years writing this isn't very competent and any excuses from naughty dog's side become stale. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Graficas: Excelentes, lo mejor del juego y probablemente las mejores de PS4. Nota: 10/10

Musica: Buena en general, pero faltaron mas canciones iconicas como si las habia en TLOU 1. Buena la version de Take on me. Nota: 6/10

Right, I really don't care if the company wants to do this kind of game, but I felt bamboozled with trailers creating hype and connection with the first beloved game to just deliver this crap.

Unfortunately, I need to agree with another review here that said that "buy pre-order" from Sony could be a real problem. Spend money on a AAA game that I don't want to play. We received "a lie", probably they don't say anything before to avoid the game to "flop" as movies with that kind of "narrative". Nonetheless, if that is the way that Sony wants to follow from now, I will think twice before buy the new PS5 console.

I don't give 0 because the game is really, technically, beautiful. But, you need to check it for yourself... but don't buy the digital version you will not be able to sell it. I think that you need to check for yourself (don't believe in me), but come back here to tell to everyone what you discovered.

Just to finish, I never saw a number of user scores on Metacritic so high on years and a lot of AAA games... "something is wrong", are really gamers voting or people trying to defend their causes?

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is my personal point of view. I really liked the game and I find a bit unfair all the negative comments going on.

I went through such an emotional roller coaster throughout the game and while I also had moments of 'anger' and frustration the first time they make you swap characters....as time goes by, it all made sense...starting to see the story develop from the 'enemy's' point of view was a progressive learning curve for Abby and would connect in such an emotional way with Ellie.

This stops being about the infection and more about humanity through different perspectives. It was so nostalgic and emotional all the way you can connect with each character as you spend more time with them, exploring more views of the world we hadn't seen from Ellie's point of view. It was such an emotional wreck when you see a similar reflection of Ellie's story through Abby as she also goes through similar changes of heart and perspectives as she also connects with Lev. It is kind of a mirror story from Ellie and Joel in a way, and I've found the storytelling as a genius plan.

The way Joel is portrayed was super emotional as well...it makes you right away feel Ellie's anger and as she goes on and on...as much as loving Ellie, you feel like you just want her to stop being in pain...and all the shocking moments in Seattle and her reason to go out again to California....is so powerful and painful (in a respectful way and greatly done).

While also kind of hating to play as Abby at first, as time went by, the story makes you really connect with her and I've found it brilliant how the game gives you an expanded and also different experience that at the end, I ended up enjoying a lot. The different weapons, fighting style, challenges and also epic story and challenges to face as Abby, were great.

I've never felt so conflicted internally when you connect again with Ellie....I just didn't want to fight against her and while you start to understand Abby, you want them to stop...it was so thrilling to play through that, knowing both's perspectives. Then being Ellie again and fighting against Abby out of rage and all the trouble you go through....was so emotional and I found a great resolution of Ellie finally 'letting go'.

I have nothing but respect and thanks to Naughty Dog for making such a bold and daring new emotional experience as a whole. I'll always love Ellie and Joel, but this second part made me go beyond what I thought about empathy and perspective of different people. This was such a powerful experience.

Beyond the great story everything is amazingly executed, the artistry, environments, animation, lighting, fx, cinematography, the connection between cinematics and playable action and of course, the beautiful and melancholic music. If I had a hat on, I'd take it off and say: Thank you.

The chemistry between the characters joel and ellie are carried over from the first game, however the way the plot progresses seems to be only hindering its ability to tell a coherent story. most of this game seems to be in the past rather in the present. while its great to learn about characters and what their motivations are, its also important how we receive that information. if the information is given through a series of flashback with the outcome already made clear, why are we having those flashbacks. it feels like Abby could've had a heart to heart with one of her friends to tell them why she hates joel. that information is still their so we dont need a detailed flashback. the character joel while the chemistry between him and ellie is still there, he seems to have forgotten what being a survivor is. while it can be argued that hes gone soft because of the time he spent there or the nice people who walk through, it feels forced. the last of us is a dog eat dog world to its extreme, the fact that hunters or any other faction near them hasent attempted to take over is beyond me. they let people in so that would make it easy to stage an attack but no. those 4 years had to have been peaceful for joel to turn soft. the way he died is disrespectful. if you look at other beloved character deaths, they are handled with sincerity and care. they were with us in a journey, they achieved somewhat of they wanted. joel was axed 2 hours in the game. if neil thought this was a good idea like the first with sarah and joel. he was wrong, we cared for Sarah for the time we were with her but the sadness we felt was the utter helpness that joel had to go through knowing that his daughter was gone. Ellie was not innocent nor was joel sympathetic because joel is a awful human being. hes a great character with clear motivations and few morals. i didnt mind joel dying i took issue with how he died. he was never careful or suspicious, its as if yesterday was his first day in a post apocalyptic world. if abby and ellies story were chronological then i have no doubt this would have been a great game. not as perfect as the first but great, i only gave it a 3 for the graphics sound and programmers who put their heart into this while dealing with crunch time and dealing with a story this bad. You advertised with Joel and Ellie.
Yet you want us to feel and love Abby?
I don't need to know why she did it. I know, from that moment, she's firefly(not THAT doctor's daughter though)

Playing as Abby first might make this less bad, but probably will raise other problems.

The greatness of the first game, partly comes from the journey and experience, and you feel for the characters.
But I have to force myself to progress through this game.
I can't believe I said "it's finally over" after the end for a game I've been waited so long.
    Bye bye playstation.
    Xbox for me next gen.

Subversion was successfully achieved, as you were expecting a great sequel that respected the franchise and the already steadfastly embedded characters, who we came to love in the first game. Were broken, torn apart, all for teaching some hollow lesson that senseless killing is bad and revenge is fruitless, when the focus of the game would've been much better off exploring the virus, Jackson, the cure, Joel's twenty year stint as a survivor and so much more they could've brought to life in the game, instead of making it the darkest, most depressing and tinnitus-inducing song that I've ever heard in my life. You tend to feel spiritually raped, when you expect to see Die Hard 2, but instead you get a snuff film with a hollow story. Almost as if someone wrote down your worst nightmare and then wanting to charge you 60 dollars to read it forcibly, while telling you, "isn't this the best story ever?, Ohh you must be intolerant if you don't understand it". No I'm not intolerant, I just don't like character-ruining, depressing and repetitive sob stories in an entertainment product that I've paid for, BECAUSE of an expectation to deliver me just that, entertainment. The perfection that is the first game, only fuels that fire of disbelief and anger, over the second and it's almost impossible to see how the franchise can ever redeem itself, for me. It's definitely not getting any more of my money. Neil has got enough diamond Teslas by now anyway. The most heart-breaking review and score I've ever had to give. Expand

I don’t care AT ALL about Abby and her friends. Joel getting killed 2 hrs in by a daughter of a random NPC ? Really ? Joel and tommy would never reveal their names to armed strangers. And the ending makes no sense. Why kill so many people and risk your life to just give up. ? Expand

I'd rate it 3-4, the gameplay is good, the story is bad. Well, this game is another example of why you should not trust critics' reviews. I guess it's all about corruption, devs pay money to get good reviews from critics but regular players don't like the game.

My sincere opinion, I played this game and I was totally disappointed, a bad experience, I didn't buy the game, I won, and the disappointment was so great that I will break this garbage. It's absurd how they can ruin a franchise, with a totally revolting story and addressing issues that don't need to be addressed in a game.

Amazing graphics and gameplay that unfortunately are shoved to the side by the horrible story. Plot holes and unlikeable characters make this an unworthy sequel to the first game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The last of us Part 2. the Game that all the owners of the console were waiting for. But after playing it, they regretted the money they spent on it. The game is terrible: -Graphics. I'll start with a good one, because people working on species and other things have done a good job and the world is really atmospheric. Gameplay - for me this is a big minus, because for so many years I would like more changes in terms of gameplay. The plot - And here it will be hot, the first 2 hours pass more or less, all before the main character of part 1, Joel, is drained. Even though it Joel is difficult to call because the last character left only a name, right appearance. They kill him as cruelly as possible... During the entire scene, you ask 1 question, for what? For not allowing the vaccine to be made? Was it necessary? After all, part 1 showed us that even those places where people were constantly attacked. And what would happen if the vaccine miraculously cured everyone? WAR! A war for supplies, a war for everything! For humanity to get back on its feet will take a very long time. OK let's move on, Ellie saw Joel's death and vowed revenge. And the gameplay for Ellie was quite enjoyable, yet both she and I had a motive to kill these people. But that's just it... Seriously, all those friends of Abby's are almost suicidal, because almost every murder is an imposter of Ellie's. And here we are already fired up, the flames of revenge are boiling and you can go for a walk because then you will play half the game for Abby! All the pumping for Ellie remained with her, so swing again. This part of the game I will omit because it can be described as "but they were actually people, and you killed them" (Aha, if I cared). There is such a character as Jesse, the only one who caused me to like the new characters, he conceived a child for the girl Ellie, and I liked him. And that in the end, they just kill him when he walks through the door... And when I wanted to avenge Jessie and show Abby her place, I was told, " Oh, really! Go pee Ellie along with your friend/girlfriend Lion" (this creature it infuriated me throughout the game, because we have a post-Apocalypse, but we all really care who you think you are. ) And a couple of words about Abby, I don't believe that she could get so high without foreign substances, and to be honest, I don't really want to empathize with her, because you've seen where she lives? It's almost a Paradise for them! (Do not forget that on the streets now, in fact, people should tear each other up for an extra bottle of water). And Abby decides to let go of Ellie and her girl and here they zhivkt happy with the child (for some Reason Jessie does not even remember), but then Ellie remembers about revenge (Not without Tommy's help) and goes to Abby, again on his way killing a lot of people and here she is tied to a post, start bullying her as she then over Joel, but she lets her go, well, OK maybe wants to kill her in a fair duel. Well, you're finally drowning it... You remember all the people she killed and maimed... You almost feel satisfied... But Ellie lets them go... You get up, calmly exhale, and then ask the question, what did I just play? Many say moll, the moral of the story is that Revenge is bad, let's close our eyes to the fact that the moral is banal, but even this could have been played well, but they didn't do it. Ellie returns home and.. Where's Dina? Do you mean to say that when the world is a complete nightmare, she took the baby and left? When you can be killed by zombies or other people who just want to survive. Just wonderful... The result-the Game is not what we all expected, the author wanted to please all the minorities, but did not take into account the fact that pleasing them, he spits in the face of the rest. I do not recommend this for purchase, it is better to play spongebob Expand

Man I was expecting so much more after playing last of us remastered twice all the way through. I should have read the other reviews before wasting money on this game, it is obvious that the developer was more interested in pushing an agenda than actually producing a game to surpass the previous game. Do not waste your money or time.

I am baffled that metacritic scores this game so highly vs the user score. SMH Hopefully naughty dog will listen to the purchasers of this game and improve in their story telling ability. The thing that really gets me is that they can write well. They showed us that when the put out the last of us. Why they put this out completely boggles the mind. Why this story pitch was even considered boggles the mind. I would say they need to fire their writer immediately and get someone with talent in that position.

The first of all...the good things is the graphics!!! It is very nice but the rest....just sucked. Stelth game function has not changed much from 7 years ago...and most importantly the story was really no meaning except Ellie and Abbys revenge.... Just nothing talking about infection and how it is created....very sad. I would like to see if other creator can remake this Part 2 if they can!!!

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
