    I loved the first game. I loved the characters. But: I loved the Story. It was not black and white: You had to make your own mind about it.
    I cried.
    Then, this pile of **** comes out. I played through the first 5 hours - after 3 hours I had the Urge to throw out my ps4: It just is not satisfying. I want a good Story and not some lbgtqWHATEVER junk which focuses more about that than a    I loved the first game. I loved the characters. But: I loved the Story.     Don't give them your money please!!! Don't buy it. The way Naughty Dog treats the characters is next-level bad writing. I can't even enjoy the first game after this experience.

    This is a sequel no one ever wanted. Its a mere cash grab what I think of it. Its a surprise how the characters in this game don't have a proper development. This game is nothing but an utter disappointment.

    Una historia pobre con huecos argumentales y con varias contradicciones.Un mensaje pobre e incoherente .
    Por ejemplo al morir Joel ,Ellie busca venganza mata a varias personas para que al final deje ir a la principal responssble. Los defensores de esta pesíma historia podran decir que ese sinsentido terminara con el ciclo de venganza ,pero no les parece que esa estupidez queda por los aires cuando Ellie fue capaz de matar cruelmente a un gran numero de individuos para luego dejar ir a la responsable de ese sentimiento de rencor que tanto Ellie como los jugdores sentimos durante esta travesía.Un juego pobre en argumento que convencera a muchos que solo busca jn juego pra pasar el rato y otros que estan solo por razones políticas y de inclusión en este juego. Esto lo digo ya que gente no relacionada con este mundo lo defiende y los otros defensores son los conformistas que se sienten bien con un juego de disparos realistas y graficos despampanantes pero con argumento pobre. Estos tambien niegan el hecho de haber gastado dinero en una basura en lo que respecta a la historia.     gameplay and graphics are top notch but it won't save the absolute failure of a storyline. took a huge dump in the face of players who loved the first episode and its characters. I wish I could delete my memories of it. Druckmann should never make another game

    I’ve been waiting 5 years for this and I can’t tell you how disappointed I am. I can’t believe the creators of the original game created this one. The story-telling was just dreadful and the fighting system was similar to the original but was overall monotonous. I’m really trying not to hate but something must be going on at naughty dog studios because this is such a bummer. Эта игра не ощущается как полноценный продукт,на который потратили так много времени и денег. Семь лет ожиданий прошли в пустую и люди получили продукт,который не заслуживают. Это (The last of us 2) нельзя назвать ни игрой ни фильмом.
    Главная проблема The last of us 2 -это отсутствие мотивации персонажей,пластмассовые эмоции, и какая-то антилогика во всем,начиная от диалогов и заканчивая действиями главных "Героев" и NPC. Повествование и сценарий ощущаются,как будто их сделали "на коленке".Сюжетная линия (фактически это две линии,которые каким-то чудесным образом связывают в одну) рвется каждые 20 минут ненужными флэшбэками,которые пытаются привязать тебя к персонажам и ощутить их,так сказать поверить в их существование, и это не дает прочувствовать цельность истории.
    Нам обещали ,что на игру нужно потратить почти 40 часов,20ть из которых за Элли и 20ть за Эбби,но в итоге игра проходится за 15+- часов на средней и высокой сложности.Кстати о сложности,нам опять таки обещали соулс лайк боевку,что играть нужно осторожно,"ведь этот мир не щадит никого" и что урон будет максимально правдоподобным...В итоге мы можем затанчить пару стрел,несколько ударов топором по голове,пару пулевых отверстий и плевать,что у нас Дырки в пузе.
    С логикой и правдоподобностью в этой игре сплошные беды,как пример: Есть одна женщина,которая по сюжету висит у столба +-месяц,мышцы ее атрофированы,она заражена,через пару мин ей вводят нож в грудную клетку,потом вонзают его в плечо,режут,а она еще 5 мин сражается,как халк,не ощущая боли,так еще как гидравлические пожарные ножницы откусывает другому персу пальцы,как я ,когда ем картошку Фри из фастфуда!!!
    В техническом плане игра осталась в 2013 году,но с более кривой анимацией,еще более тупыми и слабыми NPС,но в замен мы получили никому не нужные сверх жестокие сцены и неплохой визуал.РЕМАРКА: Помните,как все ныли по поводу ломающегося оружия в The legend of zelda BOTW ? так вот,у вас будут ломаться обычные молотки за пару ударов по пузу оппонента)))
    Морали в игре нет,абсолютно никакой.Была попытка рассказать о цикличности мести,но в итоге мы даже ее не получили,зато убили 200+ невинных жителей. Помните,как Джокера 2019 все сми и общество хейтило за оправдание насилия? Вот только там не было такого оправдания,как здесь.Никакой серой морали,как например в первой части здесь тоже нет.

    Итог: пустая и сухая игра,которую если и можно похвалить,так только за визуал.    … Expand

Einfach nur versaut mehr kann ich dazu nicht sagen, hab die story durch. Und glaubt mir... schlechter hätte sie niemals gelingen können.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I finished the game yesterday and had been waiting in anticipation for this game for months. The hype was real. Naughty Dog has the reputation of making magic with video games and I'd hoped that TLOU2 would be a masterpiece too. The game starts off slow with rustic guitar piece all familiarising you with the setting that this is based in. Humanity has survived and they have build settlements with electricity and other niceties, life seems to go on within such settlements oblivious to the ongoings of the outer world. Jackson is one such community. Joel and Ellie live her with other support cast (Tommy, Dina and Jesse). They are estranged owing to what happened in the first part. Yet they have some fondness for each other. Joel is killed off almost immediately by Abby in spite of the fact that he just saved her (Motive : Abby's father was killed by Joel while trying to rescue Ellie from the hospital). Yet I'd have preferred some empathy for a man that just saved her life. Also it was anti climactic to see Joel being so naive and walk into a trap. This sets Ellie on crazy revenge path. They (Ellie, her girlfriend Nina, Tommy and Jesse) go to Seattle separately and start knocking WLF numbers down. WLF is the group that Abby is part of. They kill of Abby's friends and this ticks Abby off and she kills few of Ellie's and just about the time she is to kill Ellie (15 hours into the game), we are set onto Abby's flash back (Frustrating). The game now forces us to relive what Abby was doing for three days when Ellie was killing her friends.This is a solid ten hour nightmare with a person that you have been bought to hate. Extremely inconsequential stuff with random NPC's added (Lev and Yara), you do fetch quests for them, forge relationship with Owen (Teenage sweetheart who is married) and manage to survive while being an outcast from WLF. Also by the end of ten hours you don't start empathizing with Abby but are rather focused on getting over the tedium and completing the game. The gameplay mechanics while upgraded (jump, prone, rope usage etc.) are nothing to write home about and the shooting is exactly the way it was - clunky. The animations are fabulous and so is the art direction, the game looks like every last ounce of PS4 Pro's graphical prowess has been extracted There are wide open spaces which are awe inspiring and beautiful. You'd be able to visualise the nature in all its glory. However every destination needs you to enter a dingy dark building filled with infected, use the environment in some twisted way or fight random group of enemies. I used to dread when the game required me to go somewhere which was more than two blocks away. The stealth works just till it doesn't and the enemy AI is laughable. Now since you have put 20 odd hours (10 of them as Abby), you really need a fantastic climax to make it worth it. But to our dismay once we are bought back to present in the theater, nothing of that sort happens and an ancillary character Lev belonging to SCARS (WLF's nemesis) clan (had saved Abby's life) requests Abby to not kill Dina & Ellie and Abby agrees. Next off we are shown that Ellie and Dina are living the perfect farm life with Dina's son keeping them company (The game doesn't end here too).Tommy who miraculously survived getting shot, stirs the hornets nest by stating that he knows where Abby is. This sets off Ellie on one another mission (Noooooo). The game by this point feels drab and dragged by 10 hours. Ellie rescues Abby only to state that she can't let her go and they fight and finally when Ellie has the upper hand she decides to forgive Abby and move on. Now if this is what she had to do why did she make us go through the pain of playing for twenty five hours while convincing us that she'd kill every one of them. Where this morality came from at the most inopportune moment. The game has no real story arc and you'll not connect with any of the characters including Ellie. The game tries too hard to please everyone and also be a maverick/trend setter but forgets the core which got us to love part 1 ; that is story telling and relatable characters, everything else is just a fancy garnish.… Expand

    Such a huge blow after years of waiting. "Critic" reviews are either fake or bought. How a game with nonsense game's plot, frustrating new characters can have 95 metascore. While this is technically a good game, the plot/characters is so bad, rest just doesn't matter. How can you enjoy emptiness without any meaning. If you're reading this and love game for its plot/characters, AVOID this game.

They use LGBTQ+ characters as a shield against any hate they get. False marketing is at its fullest here. Bear in mind YOU PLAY AS THE VILLAIN FOR 11 HOURS!!! It's **** lazy and downright disgusting writing. I am glad that it was leaked, if only i were to save my time and money. This game is so bad, it even ruins the first game for me, and I am shocked and furious that these guys get away with this. This game lacks everything the first game had.

    Don't even get me started on the ending. The ending is terrible, it is **** it is a waste of space and a literal **** joke.

    Ok, so imagine if John Wick, at the end of his rampage, **** APOLOGISES to the guy who killed his dog. That would not even **** happen. I didn't **** understand the ending I was seeing.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I think this game has major ups and downs. The visuals and sound design are great, the landscapes and combat are fun and intense.

    however;

    the story leaves a lot to be desired, and as this is a game that should be focused primarily on storytelling and character development, i cant give this game higher than a 2/10. The ending feels very unsatisfactory, as you're progressing through half the game as ellie trying to defeat abby, a goal which seems nearly impossible to start your journey with. When you finally reach a point where that goal is in sight, Ellie just leaves it behind. Her torture throughout this game has no payoff to it. she loses very close friends, only for it to mean nothing in the grand scheme of the plot. And dont even get me started on playing as Abby. I couldnt stand it. Her motivations are unjust when you look at the reasoning behind her fathers death, and you have to play as her after she beats Joel to death in front of our protagonist, then get there yourself. This games story is undesirable at best, and i dont think the franchise can be redeemed past this game. I hope anyone reading this enjoyed it, but I couldnt.    … Expand

    After seven years of waiting for the game to continue, I would expect a different story than that after two hours of play, one of the main characters from the original game will die. When she died, I was expecting at least some nice revenge, but the fact that they let the second main character die, that's **** too much. I only give one point for processing the game, which is so average for 2020, but I liked the nice graphics. They should have kept the story on paper and fired the screenwriter. I hope that at least he will return my 60 €, which I could otherwise burn straight away.

    Po sedmi letech čekání na pokračování této hry, bych čekal nějaký jiný příběh, než že mi po dvou hodinách hry zemře jedna z hlavních postav z původní hry. Když už mi umřela, tak jsem čekal alespoň nějaké pěknou pomstu, ale že nechají zemřít i druhou hlavní postavu, tak to už je kurva moc. Dávám jeden bod jen za zpracování hry, které je na rok 2020 takové průměrné, ale líbila se mi fajná grafika. Příběh si raději měli nechat na papíře a pana scénáristu vyhodit. Doufám, že mi alespoň vrátí mých 60€, které jsem jinak mohl rovnou spálit.    … Expand

    I put 4 points for this game, I can’t put a higher one. The gameplay, visualization, musical accompaniment and more at the level, as well as facial animations.
    But the plot greatly disappointed. The beginning of the story was addictive and full of emotions, and then it was completely boredom, although the end turned out pretty good for me.

Even though, the graphics and the gameplay felt very well done. Maybe this awful critics are gonna help Naughty Dog to see how they make their big mistake and give us a good game in the future. Yes, the game goal was to be dark and sad. But i dont see the point of leaving the main "villain" alive just cause a flashback with Joel and everything else. I mean, all the killing, all the revenge for nothing? Everything that Ellie been through, everything that shed done. It clearly could meant for nothing.


    Naughty Dog fails in giving the players a little bit of hope and clearly a fair videogame. Its a shame of what ND has become. Graphics 9.9/10

    1. Graphics - 9/10 - they are good but we are in 2020, and is not like we did not had games with good graphics before or from now on ... what a stupid argument.

    2. Game-play -6/10 - nothing changed, almost like the one in 2013 ... 7 years and not that much changed, you want to tell me that awkward jump is amazing ? really ? that is the best that the critics can come up with when they give it a perfect score ?

    3. Combat and "stealth"- 5/10 - the combat its not that good, the stealth mechanics the same not that good , we have so many game which are doing the stealth and combat mechanics a lot better then TLOU 2.

    4. Story - 0/10 - the story it's garbage, you have two lesbians raiding on horses, kissing and smoking weed and doing some **** in the open world , then you play with "It's ma'am" and want to revenge you father ( a random NPC from the first game, no back story no nothing ), you run around for a little bit then switch back to the two lesbians, back to "It's ma'am" ... the you run in to Joel, he saves you life then you lead him to an hideout he tells you his name just like that , then you torture him for a little bit and in front of Ellie you smack his head with a golf club. **** you game .... then you play as Ellie who said that she will them all , after a few hours into the game you switch to "It's ma'am" and you take it from behind in a gay scene ( **** this game ) ... ...... anyway in the end Ellie finds "It's ma'am" they fight and because Ellie has a vision of Joel lets her go ( nice revenge ), then Ellie returns and wants to play the guitar, but because "It's ma'am " bite two fingers out of her she cannot ...     Played it for 10 hours. Graphics are ok, and sound is acceptable. The plot is very dull and full of far left agenda. The inclussion of LGTB symbols looks very forced and there are many unnecesary sexual scenes. Don't waste your money in this game.

    I'm gonna be honest: I made this account on metacritic only to express my disappointment, my grief, my wrath and in the end the numbness I felt, when the game was over. What an utterly waste of of time this was.
    I wish I never played it and I'd just remember The Last Of Us I as the masterpiece it was.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Firstly, there are a few good points within the game, as to why I didn't rate it below a 4. Here is a list with some details.

    -Game mechanics.

    Since the last game was released, the mechanics of the game have improved drastically. I find it much more easier to aim, craft or even throw a brick/bottle. The jumping and climbing manoeuvres were quite simplistic also. The only thing I can add to that (which is a negative, but because its only small I will include it in the positives) is that the dodging mechanic (L1) is strangely difficult. I found myself continuously receiving damage even though I was dodging perfectly to an upcoming attack. Something that should have been used as the circle button mechanic and not the running button.

    -Animation

    Not only have the facial animation during cutscenes and the gameplay animation improved since the last game, but also the way the environment moves around you. I felt fully indulged within the environment, almost like I was there throughout the entire gameplay. The lighting really brought the dark, dim and bright moments to life.

    Those were my only good points. The past seven years they have spent on making this game was wholesomely based on those points, and not the story. Here are my bad points.

    -Not because Joel died, but HOW he was brutally murdered.

    As Joel was the main character in the first game, I felt saddened by the way they killed him. The way Manny spat on his beaten up corpse really pissed me off. I can understand if Abby herself killed Joel in her own way, without other people forcing him to struggle free of their grasp, but I just found it....well, dirty. She couldn't even come up with a well made plan on how to commit the act. It was just pure luck that she ran into him.

    -Making Ellie look like the villain

    Ellie throughout the entire game is of course, on a rough road heading straight for revenge. Willing to do anything, and kill just about anyone that gets in her way. But throughout this path, she makes some decisions that make us question who she really is as a person. We can all say the worst thing she did was murder Mel, who was pregnant at the time. None of us could see that she was pregnant, even Ellie was shocked at the murder that she committed. She isn't a BAD person. She made some quick moment decisions which were taken out of her hands, and if the tables were turned, we would all do the exact same thing. (Nice try, Naughty Dog)

    -Trying to make us feel Sympathy for Abby

    During the play-through of Abby, different events occur which try to make us think that she isn't the bad person we all think she may be. She may in fact be a caring person, but that doesn't mean she can't be a horrible one either. It makes us look at past events from her point of view, especially when her father died, and we can all obviously see why she did what she did to Joel. But that doesn't take away the fact that she killed him. Joel, who was the protagonist of the first game, the character we all came to love, murdered. Because of the acts he had to commit, in order to save his loved ones life. I quite frankly didn't care that Abby's father died and I will never come to like her character for what she did.

    -Back and fourth revenge/the story ending.

    This story was nothing more than a 'look, this is what revenge does to you. Revenge is bad, DON'T DO IT' and I feel like the past 7 years should have been concentrating more on the story-line and not the mechanics of the game. We didn't need a story on revenge, we've seen it. we've played it. And i'm sure at one point in all our lives, we have had some kind of revenge too. We didn't need a video gaming explaining what specific actions can do to the human mind. Which brings me to the ending. Ellie at the start of Seattle (Just after the events of Seattle day three) spent all that time on tracking Abby. Killing absolutely anything (I'm sorry Alice) and anyone just to make it possible. After being horrifically beaten to a pulp by Abby, she moves from Jackson with Dina and her son. Spending months on end just dwelling on Joel's death. Even having PTSD moments. So at the end, when she had Abby in her grasp, she sets her free. For what reason? Did she forgive her for what she had done? Was this whole game for nothing? Me, as the player, who desperately wanted nothing more than revenge for Joel, couldn't even get that. From start, to finish, the endgame was pointless. It was a means to an end. Where does this take the third installment for the game (that's even if they bother now) with such a pointless cliffhanger?

    My 3 star rating is for the game mechanics. The last star is merely for the story-line. What a disappointment. I expected better for 7 years of hard work.    … Expand

We understand that this community has to be normalized, but, without forcing it to normalize, one gets used to the passage of time, not ipso-facto. They killed a character in just two hours to simply force Ellie and Dina's relationship and also put a developer to have sex. The story is very forced and really disappointing. Whilst this game has amazing graphics and gameplay the main reason to play these types of games is for the story and the story in TLOUp2 is horrable. It's not because joel died or because of sexuality in game it's because it's not thought out well. My personal biggest complaint is the horrable way the game ended. Why would she feel guilty about killing joel's killer but not feel guilty about killing hundreds of other people who didn't personally hurt her or her family, and the main theme I got from the game is that everything has consequences, how is letting her live her punishment for killing her father figure.
    But if you're looking for a beautiful movie like game then it gets a 10/10    … Expand

    BAD THINGS: THE ENTIRE STORY.

    Last of Us 1 had the best story in any games released till now in my opinion. Now, Naughty dog just gone and released the worst story-based game in gaming history. I waited 7 years for this game just to be angry and disappointed . Last of Us 2 ruins the legacy of its predecessor. The only good part in the story was that one flashback in the museum. How can you kill off Joel; one of the most beloved characters in such a dishonorable way? This story makes no sense what so ever. What even was that ending? The ending didn't avenge Joel or do anything other than making Ellie lose her fingers. The ending is so disrespectful to Joel and Ellie's character arcs. These two got the worst endings and Abby got a good ending? Ellie killed so many people to get to Abby and she just forgives her 'cause revenge ain't gonna get you anywhere? I mean, do any writers of this game have a brain? And, playing as Abby made me wanna break my PlayStation. Why would I wanna play as Abby? I don't wanna feel any sympathy for ever because I don't care. I just wanna kill her. Just cause she know her backstory, we're supposed to forgive her? SHE BRUTALLY MURDERED JOEL. No matter how hard Naughty dog tried, NO ONE LIKES ABBY.

    Overall, I left angry and disappointed by the end with the garbage-ass game. Like, this game was straight trash. DON'T BUY THIS GAME FOR YOUR SAKE. DON'T READ ANY REVIEWS FROM COMPANIES 'CAUSE THEY'RE FAKE. If you want reviews, ask the gamers.

    Visually this game left me speechless (although it was to be expected), the gameplay is quite good although the A.I left a lot to be desired. Where I have a big problem is how they handled certain events, they sent everything I loved from the TLOU1 to the garbage dump, you can enjoy the game for the gameplay but there is no doubt that the story is ****
