    It started off well, but I didn't enjoy playing a second with Abby, a very poorly written character. only the beginning of the game is good, then you only end it by obligation.

    Trash game, one of the worst I have ever played. Worth 5$ max, if even that, played it for 1 hour and then sold it again, couldn't stand it, the gameplay, story and graphics are all embarrassing. Naughty Dog should be ashamed of themselves for releasing this hot garbage.

    Ok I created an account just to make this review. Ill keep it spoiler free since spoilers are everywhere. Did you like/love the story and the characters from TLOU 1? Ok then pretend this game never existed and move on, just keep your memories from the old game. Is the best thing you can do and it saves you 60 bucks.

    Graphics are stunning and gameplay is great. But like all the other reviews, the story just wasn't what anyone wanted and for a game with no multiplayer, the story has to be really strong. I enjoyed playing as Ellie, I could even stomach the events that initially took place (I literally had to stop playing for a full day). The first game was amazing but it got to where it was because fans loved it so much and kept it alive 5+ years after release. Which in todays world is quite some time. Thats like 15 Call of duties! This was a game I expected to have some emotional moments. I didn't expect the creators to take 70 bucks and then try and F**k me though. Which is what it honestly feels like. You've created a visually stunning game that plays well but ruined any chance of it having the longevity of the first game.… Expand

    Naughty Dog killed the story very well, The story is bad and all those 7 years of waiting want for nothing. I was a huge fan of TLOU. but after I played part 2. I am not anymore, I regret buying the game. and I don't care anymore if will be part 3 or not. in mean time, I am not interested in Naughty dog games anymore.

    Niel ruined it, Joel died for a meaningless shock value. They did terrible writing and made characters just for the hell of it.

    Niel, you ruined the last of us, why did you do that?

    Ellie lost her character, she did not progress, it was just a revenge story.. not like the last game where you had a game entered around the character's building up their relationship. I'm done, f this. But on a positive note, the graphics where good.    … Expand

    They took the wrong way with the story, doing everything they can to shock us and make fans angry. As a game it does not work. The game tries so much to be poetic and all that cringy stuff. But to be frank this game is not fun, and I don't recommend this game unless you want 20+ hours of depression and boredom.

    While the gameplay, visuals, and acting is absolutely top notch as expected from naughty dog. The story absolutely falls flat on it's face. it's messy, frustrating, and unfortunately disappointing. I adored every aspect of the first game. This is such a disappointing follow-up

    Ответ на этот вопрос очень простой, геймплей - очень неплохой и наверное один из лучших, графика - аналогично геймплею, сюжет и все что не завязано с технической составляющей игры - очень и очень скучно, неинтересно и ужасно.
    Одно дело если бы сюжет был просто неинтересным, но нет, он просто ужасен, зачем нужно было внедрять в игру этот геймплей за Эбби, При чем 10 часов, зачем?
    Вы думаете я не понимаю что эти люди не звери и реально хотели спасти человечество?
    Короче, первые 10 ч геймплея ещё переносимы но потом, это просто лгбт симулятор.
    Оценка этой игре 7-8 но я ставлю 4, потому что слишком много нам говорили разрабы, и слишком много Хайпа вокруг этой игры.    … Expand

    Lo peor:

    - La historia es mala con ganas, aparentando de una profundidad a partir de clichés típicos de cualquier película del montón. Intenta abarcar muchos temas y personajes con diferentes sensibilidades, pero sin llegar a profundizar en los personajes de la manera que podemos apreciar en la primera parte, incluso quitando algo de veracidad.

    - El uso de un segundo personaje durante la mitad de la historia, personaje con el que yo nunca la disfrute ni conecte con ella, con una historia tediosa y sin mucha importancia durante la mayor parte para la trama principal. Forzando la evolución del personaje de forma inverosímil para poder recrear una simpatía parecida al de la primera parte (yo personalmente solo disfrute de esta parte cuando la mataban).

    - El final es un completo despropósito y sin sentido, solo con unos cambios en los acontecimientos se podría haber conseguido un final bastante épico, dando un sentido profundo al mensaje sobre la venganza y sus consecuencias.

    - La IA de los enemigos no ha mejorado lo que me hubiera gustado, en difícil me ha parecido bastante fácil excepto un enemigo final.

    En general, el juego es un escupitajo al legado de la primera parte, olvidándose la narrativa que cautivo a todos los jugadores. Yo personalmente no lo recomiendo, todo y que la jugabilidad es divertida, la historia o los personajes te dejan todo el rato un amargo sabor de boca. En mi caso, lo venderé a la que pueda y intentaré olvidarlo lo antes posible, para mí el final de la saga se queda en la primera parte. El juego deberia tener mas valor general mas alto de hecho, pero le pongo la nota mas baja posible de forma de protesta.    … Expand

    I’ve played last of us part 1 a numerous amount of times and is easily one of my favorite games of all time. Therefore, my excitement for this game was through the roof, I couldn’t wait to finish where the first game left off. However, the approach they took in telling this story in part 2 is absolutely horrible. What made last of us part 1 beautiful was it’s simplicity and it’s evolvingI’ve played last of us part 1 a numerous amount of times and is easily one of my favorite games of all time. If you’re looking for quality story telling to the next part of what happens to Joel and Ellie, I’m afraid you’ll be let down. It is not a clever plot twist, it is a lazy tactic that requires no real thought. What is the audience expecting to happen? Well let's have Brandon stark be king. You make a revenge game where some one murders hundreds of thousands of people just to get a chance to get revenge against the person who beat and tortured your loved one to death. Then call it a day right when you get a chance to kill them. Cause 1001 bodies is too many. Not to mention why would ellie drop everything to go murder this person not once but twice. Risking her life, jeopardizing her relationship, and threatening retaliation on every one she loved. Makes no sense.… Expand

As a fan of the original game, what made that game amazing was the chemistry between Joel and Ellie, who he took under his wing and basically taught her the essentials of survival in the world they lived in. Seeing him go from seeing her as a pest to loving her like his own daughter was the climax of that game. Last of Us 2 did a disservice to Joel and to Ellie. Sure, the story was decent, as it kind of reminded me of a movie sort of plot but it just doesn’t work. I don’t think anyone wanted to play as Abby, like she killed the main character of the first game! Were we supposed to feel sorry for Abby, and playing as her was supposed to justify her actions?? I felt it was a waste of time. In the end, Abby gets what she wants and Ellie is left alone without Joel, Dina and is left to wonder by herself. There is no closure for her and it was just a sad way to end the game after so much was put into Ellie and Joel in the first game. Just wow… Expand

You can compare this sequel to Tokyo Ghoul Season 2, it has almost nothing to do with first season because it just jumps ahead in time, it tries to make you care for a new nobody character and has unnecesary cuts in the main character plot that we do know and we doSeems like making a politically correct videogame these days is more important than making a fun, enjoyable, coherent game. You can compare this sequel to Tokyo Ghoul Season 2, it has almost nothing to do with first season because it just jumps ahead in time, it tries to make you care for a new nobody character and has unnecesary cuts in the main character plot that we do know and we do care for. I'm not saying that you don't have to play this game, but you might want to get a refund after doing it. In this aspect TLOU2 Is pretty comparable to Warcraft III: Reforged in terms of how "well" it does his job at giving us hopes and dreams just to be crushed by unfinished works and promises that couldn't be delivered. So to summarize up I just wanna say ND=Blizzard+Activision.

Sorry they lost most of me there. But, to then have to play the Hanibol Lector, Adolph Hitler (Abby) character was the final straw. Great graphics. I have a high end tv and the scenery and presentation was really good. Too bad story wasn't as good. I ordered the collectors edition from Amazon back in September. Total regrets. About 180$ with tax. Will never play it again. Someone mod it and have Ellie smash the monster Abbie PLEASE.… Expand

Hay muchas razones, pero las que más se repiten son aquellas que califican la historia como un desastre y que "obligan al jugador a pensar en la forma que ellos dicen". To be completely honest, I think that this story would've ended better with Ellie being killed off. The backlash from fans would probably be even worse, and the current ending is getting way more hate than it deserves, but in a game that is meant to be depressing and hopeless, I honestly think it wouldn't be a terrible move. Naughty Dog should probably strongly consider making Tlou 3, and yes, they should have Ellie die at the end. It would be the much needed closure that this franchise needs and would help capture the feel of what this post-apocalyptic world really is about. Speaking of this post-apocalyptic world, everything just felt off about it in this game. The first game really felt like the player was doing every thing to survive in this zombie-like outbreak, but in this game the infected seem like they're in the game just because they had to due to the continuity from the first. When I think about this game, I barely even remember that the infected were in it, when they were.... the literal reason for this entire scenario. So is this game a total fail? No. It has some of the best visuals in the history of gaming, and the gameplay (while remaining the same throughout and being almost being a replica of the first game) is still extraordinary and the enemy AI was some of the smartest I've ever seen in a video game. So is the story that bad? For a triple A game, it's very good. For a Last of Us game, it is god awful. Probably my biggest gripe with the story is that this just didn't feel like it was the Last of Us. Ellie, who is my favorite character in gaming history, didn't really even feel like Ellie to me. Everything just felt off in this game, and I think most people agree. So as a standalone game, this game is an 8-10. As a Last of Us game, it is a 3-5. The reviews for this game are absolute nonsense from both sides of the coin. There are tons of people who had in their mind they were going to like the game no matter what, and there were tons of people who were going to hate the game no matter what (mostly because of the leaks.) And yes there are quite a few political points raised in this game; not as many as people make it sound like, but enough to make quite a few people upset, especially when pretty much all of it is completely unnecessary (for example, bigot sandwich.) The lgbt+ representation in this game is something almost unheard of in very popular games, so yes, a lot of lgbt+ people are going to be a little more inclined to say this game is very good. On the other side, you have people who do not like the lgbt+ representation, so they will be more inclined to say the game is not very good. In conclusion, while this game tries to be something to be more special than it is and comes across as a little pretentious, and has a somewhat lackluster plot, it's still one of the best games out there, and most of the reviews (good and bad) are biased. But as a TLOU fan, I was extremely disappointed.… Expand

The way Joel died was moronic, Joel from part 1 would never reveal his identity nor follow a bunch of strangers he just met. The fact that he was killed within the first 2 hours of the game and then you’re forced to play as the very person who killed him for 10 hours, without any context or who this person was is just a horrible idea and made me feel sick. Some of Ellie’s actions don’t make much sense either, including the ending. It just seems that writers came up with an idea and wrote a script without considering if the existing characters fit into the story. The new characters that were introduced are impossible to like even though the game wants you to sympathise with them (I’m talking about Abby – she’s a badly written character and when in a second she turned back on WLF and started killing her friends I could believe this!). I did like Dina and Jesse but obviously Jesse as one of very few characters I liked was killed like a dog (same as Joel). Wanted to see more Tommy as well and thought I would get a chance to play as him (instead I got Abby…) but they completely gave up on him as all characters from part 1.

    The world looks nice, graphics are great, voice acting too. When it comes to gameplay, NPCs – it’s just slightly better than part one and I was expecting a bit more but did enjoy it in general.

    艾莉一上来直接扔个小沙盒地图给你玩，之后又都是传统线性流程，设计思路令人不解。
    艾莉线性流程的地图做的蛮大，室内细节很丰富，程序员996工时拉满。同时也导致关卡节奏特别缓慢，搜货费时。（怀疑艾莉章节是制作组赶工为了凑游戏时长才做成这样的）
    艾莉新的这些年轻伙伴刻画的都十分浅薄，都是些末世滥交故事。开局谈恋爱虽然土但至少有几句话聊，之后一路上都在聊死天，全是些没价值的复读。非常怀念初代和乔尔的各种脚本对话。
    相比之下埃比的流程设计就比较像初代的感觉了，关卡演出有料，游玩节奏正好。和几个朋友一路上有说有笑，彼此之间都有着真感情。艾莉那些朋友甚至不如埃比朋友圈里的一条狗来的有意思。
    虽然目前还没通关，但TLOU2的叙事流程真的蛮屎，故事内容本身其实OK，但导演却选择用非常烂的方式放送，真的有点可惜了这么好的游戏内容设计。
    剧情这些就不说了，行尸走肉老一套了。
    真正该骂的应该是顽皮狗这回的游戏设计，艾莉这部分的GAMEPLAY真的有失水准。

    通关以后再来补充一些个人观点，尽量不剧透（难啊）
    游戏的故事部分我觉得是蛮自洽的，尤其是在看了这么多年的行尸走肉电视剧以后。整个故事的来龙去脉都算是说到了，虽然是美剧水平的故事，但他也是个故事。同时我也无法站在没看过行尸走肉美剧的角度去客观评价最后生还者2的故事了。
    人物们的行为逻辑和心理状态描写的还行，虽然描写各个角色的篇幅并不是那么的足，都差点意思，但还是能琢磨出来他所想要表达的意思。
    过场动画的运镜剪辑虽然不是顶级，但顽皮狗在人物面部表情和肢体动作表达上下了狠功夫，能让玩家更好的去人物的心理活动（如果你能注意得到）。

    虽然故事自洽，但叙事结构是真的屎。又或者说是顽皮狗敢于挑战，挑战不可能。
    有着千百种更好的叙述方法，但我就不。今天就是要挑战一下先让玩家恶心、狂怒，最后再放下狂怒实现自我救赎（陷入抑郁）。同时也能创造话题性，拥有不错的热度（好榜样行尸走肉第七季）。但结果是毁掉了整个叙事，

    游戏发现前大肆宣传了艾莉的女友，蒂娜。而蒂娜这个角色在游戏中刻画的有点“肤浅”。把前期宣传消费了这么多的角色描写成一个滥交、自私的双性恋。虽然是在这样的一个末世背景下，虽然这种末世故事为追求“真实感”都喜欢滥交情节，虽然蒂娜也才刚刚成年，但未免还是有些恶心人、不尊重人了。
    表面上蒂娜和艾莉你侬我侬激情似火携手共进，但实际上双方也只是在满足各自的私欲。（至于杰西，唉）比起艾莉和乔尔的真感情，末世背景下的恋爱 距离真爱差的还远呢。

    包括之前提的埃比流程做的比艾莉流程 游戏节奏更好，故事内容更饱满，也是在刻意的恶心玩家吧。“虽然我手里都是顶级食材，但我就是要试试这个全新的特别配方”。
    至于真正的制作负责人是否真的故意想要恶心所有角色、所有玩家、所有媒体和所有人并颠覆一切，这只有他自己知道了。

    最值得称赞的地方只有战斗部分，新加入的动作系统和顶级的敌人AI使得游戏战斗部分的体验达到了业界新的高度。战神5真的该偷学起来了。
    虽然游戏画质并没有超脱PS4PRO这台机器的性能限制，但美术部分做出的努力令人赞叹。顽皮狗为了调整画质应该耗费了大量的精力，不容易。非常期待PS5上高画质版的表现，光影效果拉满！

    -The first game was awesome for it's time , a nice father-daughter story in the middle of an apocalypse trying yo survive and make allies. Even the Prequel DLC had a good story too, everyone loved those campaigns still to this day.

    So... what's the problem with this "sequel" ?
    The first minutes are good and shows us how the protagonists re living after the first game but in a couple of hours.... boom
    They kill the most beloved character of the franchise, because of a "girl"? Who wanted revenge against him for killing his father in the first game.

    So the game make us want to take revenge against that girl and his crew and we do.
    We kill almost every friend of her as she kills some of out allies too, and in the end...
    WE FORGIVE HER ??!!!
    I don't know who exactly was the dumbass who write this ending (actually i think we all do) but .You makes take revenge against all of her friends just to make us forgive Her for killing Ellie's father figure ?
    That's the most stupid plot i've ever seen .

    Take as Example for a Revenge story the Destiny 2 Forsaken plot:
    They kill a beloved friend of ours and we swear to take revenge with our hands. So we go and kill The Barons( The ones who helped the antagonist to kill that friend ) , then in the end our character and an ally are in front of him about to kill him , but he asks
    " The light between light and dark is so thin, which side are you on ? "
    That makes our character doubt but we stil point at him with our gun , in the end , the screen goes black and we hear a gunshot.

    We don't know if we did kill him or our ally did, but we know he is now dead , and that gives us a relief completing our Revenge Crusade , we later have to deal with the consequences of killing him but it's still a good plot.

    I don't know why ND had to make such an bad ending. It could 've been a good game ...
    So sad ended this way

    PD : Was that s3x scene so necesary for the plot of the game ?

    I used to think that every games that your studio made is a masterpiece and is worth every dollars spent
    When the leak spreads, i simply couldnt believe it, but i didnt care and waited until the game eventual release date...
    I was so happy when my copy arrives and i get to play it from start to finish.
    I will give my verdict
    The story is full of plot holes, the characters didnt act like their own self, no character development, story is questionable and pointless....
    And lastly you killed off a character that majority of fans loves and he is the reason that many wants to play the sequel, im fine with him dying, but the way he died is an insult to him, Joel from the first game wouldnt simply trust strangers and let them in their base armed to the core..so he is very out of character here and to add more insult.... Neil Druckkman himself mocapped himself as manny just to spit on Joels corpse...that is a disespect on another whole level, and lastly you too released this on fathers day....
    Congratulation ND you just killed a beloved game.

The strongest characters turned into weakest ones whom you want to slap hard to get over themselves and get **** done. Obviously, no happy ending is possible all things considered, but it could have been executed so much better. The characters we got to know in TLOU1 are left in TLOU1, cause TLOU2 has nothing to do with them apparently. No more characters or relationship development. Ellie is the most depressive, moody and plainly horrible to Joel. She did everything to leave him behind, between her attitude towards him until the very last moment when she let Abby go.     waited 7 years for a sequel to probably the most legendary game of all time and naughty dog has ruined it. The story is so horrible with an even more garbage ending. Please don't buy it. 7 years for this, smh.

    Just completed the game disgusted with how they treated the game makes me angry~
    waste of money after trying to hide from spoilers so the whole game was for nothing great ending

    thanks Neil 10/10 my ass never trust critics.

    Only good thing i can say was the graphics which is expected on the end of a generation anyway.

El juego mejora todo lo propuesto en la primera entrega como la jugabilidad,mecanicas,gráficos, cosas que más o menos se esperaban viendo que el estudio que lo hizo nos tiene acostumbrados a esa calidad de juegos, pero lo principal,la historia, justamente el apartado que hizo destacar al primer juego, el lado más fuerte de la entrega se va a la mierda .El juego se llena de incoherencias tanto de personajes como de logica, como porque Joel se fiaria de unos desconocidos e rir a la casa de estos o los valores morales que quieren meter como el de la venganza, como en un mundo asi te vasa a plantear esas cosas es que literalmente non tiene sentido.Es un juego totalmente innecesario el 1 ya había cerrado perfectamente… Expand

    I will say it as a progressive gay man. This game is bull crap. I can't believe there was so little respect to it's precursor. It's less of a game and more of a movie with an agenda. Graphics were decent yeah, but everything else is beyond horrible. it's downright criminal no less

I don't like how Joel died, I don't like that we had to play as Abby for as long as we did, I did not care for Abby, I hate that we did not get to get revenge at the end. Ellie went out for revenge and for what? To let Abby go and to lose her girl and adopted child? Joel dying wasn't the issue, it was how he died. Sure you could make an argument that Joel has softened in his older age but the Joel from the first part wouldn't have trusted those strangers so easily.

    They could have told the same story and honoured the first game better than they did. At one point I was like "There's no way they're going to make me also kill Ellie as Abby!?".

    To summarise, I'm happy to have played as Ellie one more time, I just feel like it was not executed the best. The game is beautiful nevertheless but storytelling wise, it could have been better.    … Expand

    Buenos graficos y buena jugabilidad pero este hubiera sido un juego nuevo con otro nombre y no se hubieran cagado en The Last Us. Obviamente con el puro nombre vendieron un montón de copias pero acosta de sacrificar la historia y el desarrollo de personajes. Una decepcion la calificación de la prensa especializada

    I've loved the first game but this one really disappointed me. Only the graphics is worth because the story is ruined. They killed the franchise.

What people are mad about is how the story was executed. How do you kill off the main character in the first 2 hours of the game. And the way he dies is so disrespectful to him. Then they make us play as the killer for 10 hours!? What a joke. They even failed to write a simple revenge story. Ellie kills everyone in her path, including a pregnant woman, but cant kill the killer of her father figure. 7 years waiting to be disappointed like this.… Expand

The plot and story went in a direction I honestly didn't expect, especially after waiting for 7 years. Some of the marketing tactics used to make a selling point for the game were misleading. In the first installment there was a big focus on character devopment and building an emotional bond between the player and the characters. This current installment came off like it was going to force you to have an emotional bond with Abby and friends. This would've been a more acceptable story line if some of the events were presented in a different order. More time was needed playing with Joel and Elle to allow players to fill the same nostalgia they felt for the first installment. If this happened and within the mist of Joel saving Abby there was the flashback to the end of the first installment and then a subtle transition to the charter Abby's flashback point of view there may have been some aple time to develop the emotional bond the game leads me to believe they wanted the player to have with Abby. If your upset your less like to try and focus on the trails and tribulations that Abby faced growing up and this greatly impacted the way players saw her character. Also, the impact of the violent acts to follow may have been better understood and wouldn't have garnered Abby that instant hate from the fan base I previously referred to. Thubk about it, who wants to play a game with a character you absolutely dispise and can't relate to? No one. There was also a change in the flashback in this installment that didn't mirror the actions that took place at the end of the first installment. So plot holes and just overall continuity of the story began to crumble. Another continuity issue was with the characters. Joel and Elle both were just doing things that based on the character development in the first installment doesn't match the actions/decisions they were making in this installment. It was like they were the same characters, but not really. So a lot of sequences that took place in the story felt forced. You end up just not caring about any of the characters that were not in the first installment and I believe that couldve been different with a change in the sequence of events/flashbacks. Lack of puzzles compared to the previous installment. The ending, I don't know, it seems like there was some confusion in the writing department as to how they really wanted the ending to be. Almost as of they wanted to kill Elle, but of that would have surely meant the end of this series. This very well may still be. We will all have to wait and see.

    Overall: 2/10 (I see no replay value for fans of the first installment)

    Game Play: 9/10 (similar to the previous installment w/minor hiccups here and there)

    Organization/Sequence of events: 1/10 (the player response didn't have to be forced, and character development could've been much better with just a few changes to the sequence of events)

    Story/Plot: 3/10 (initially started off as a good story, but the sequence of events just ruined the view of the story the writer wanted it to originally have)
    Graphics 9/10 (were just awesome just like the previous installment, although I thought the frame of Abby couldve been a little more polished. Should've had the appearance of being strong without being freakishly looking)

    Character Development 0/10 (when it comes to the time players have spent learning Joel and Elle compared to the newer characters...there just wasn't sufficient enough time to develop emotional bonds or gain a true understanding of those characters, thus no interest in them at all)

Not the game I hoped to be, characters have lost entirely their essence and story from part I is completely secondary, also it lacks from coherency and realism when it is convenient depending the character. Not a Last of Us game for me anymore, but I respect other people's opinions and I understand they could like the storytelling unlike Druckmann with haters. Great gameplay and graphics tho… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
