    I don’t want to put any spoilers in the rating. The only thing I’d like to say about the game is: the first part is still among the best games I’ve ever played on PC, dendy, sega, ps 1,2 etc. My feelings for the first part are completely opposite to the feelings about the second part. I don’t really care about all this lesbian and transsexual stuff. I don’t like it, but who cares what II don’t want to put any spoilers in the rating. The only thing I’d like to say about the game is: the first part is still among the best games I’ve ever played on PC, dendy, sega, ps 1,2 etc. My feelings for the first part are completely opposite to the feelings about the second part. I don’t really care about all this lesbian and transsexual stuff. I don’t like it, but who cares what I like or not? The motto of the game is: “Who cares what you like”. The success of the first part is explained by the narrative and relationship between main characters. The view on the problem of “lesser evil” and readiness to sucrifice what you love in favour of the rest the people. The second part proposes us the possibility that despite all hatred one can find strength to forgive the opponent. It may work but not in the way it was realized. I don’t care about graphics and I don’t really care about gameplay but I do care about plot and storytelling. Zero out of ten for spoiling one of the best games.… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the one and only proof that Naughty Dog is nothing without the guidance of Amy Hennig. They should go back to making kids games, maybe Jak and Daxter or something would be much closer to what they can do nowadays...

    Nice graphics and gameplay. But the story has no depth and is contrived.
    I will pretend the sequel has not been released and play the first one again to forget this nightmare.

    What a disappointment. The story shoots itself in the foot in the prologue and right when your getting used to the limp it pulls the rug right from underneath you half-way through and pins you on the ground for 10 hours.

    The first game made me want to be a father, this one just makes want to kill myself, literally. If you have depression I wouldn't recommend this game.

    The new leadership at Naughty Dog seems to care more about their totalitarian woke narratives than telling a good story that appeals to all humans and not just intolerant liberal hypocrites! The mainstream press fawns over garbage if it promotes their causes.

    A videogame can be rated according to 5 Aspects of it: Sound, Gameplay, Graphics, Story and Performance.
    If one category is so bad that the others suffer from it (like it runs only @ 1fps) it can destroy ever other aspects of it. With this Game this sadly is the Case. I would rate it 9/10 for the sound, 9/10 for the graphics, 9/10 for the performance and 7/10 for the gameplay...     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Oh man, where to begin? Neil, what the actual f* were you thinking? Why write a revenge story if you're not going to serve up some cold revenge at the end. So let me get this right, its ok for hundreds of other soldiers/cult members to die in pursuit of Joel's killer, but when it comes down to finally killing Abby she grows a conscience? What were they thinking? Did they honestly expect everyone to be cool with that ending?
    When I started playing this game initially I remember telling my friends that I don't get what has people so upset about this game. I did a good job of avoiding spoilers prior to playing it. I was jokingly telling my friends that literally the ONLY thing that could potentially turn me against this game is if they try to turn it into a morality lesson of "revenge bad, durrr".
    Then halfway through the game you suddenly switch to Abby and I thought this has to be a joke right? Did these devs honestly expect people to be cool with playing Joel's torturer/murderer? Did they honestly expect a little backstory and context to make me NOT want to kill her. She could be a freaking saint that saves a whole boat full of puppies and I'd still want her to suffer and die. You can't just open with her horribly killing Joel, who everyone had a strong emotional connection to and people have been reminiscing about for seven years leading up to this. Everyone was exited to finally catch up with Joel and Ellie after all these years, only to have Joel get snuffed in the first couple hours. Now, I would be ok with this as it really sets up the players boundless hatred towards Abby. I thought it was an effective way of making you feel Ellie's rage and lust for vengeance. But this needed the payoff of enacting that vengeance in the end. This game gave me the catharsis equivalent of blue balls.
    I even thought the game pulled a fast one on me when Ellie and Dina retire to the countryside and everything is super idyllic, which lead me to believe that Ellie would drop the quest for revenge in favor of love. Then when she decides to set out to finish what she started I cheered! "Sneaky game, making me believe we wouldn't get that satisfying conclusion" I thought. Well played! I honestly unlike many others wasn't seriously mad at this game until the very end. Death by a thousand cuts and drowning seemed like a pretty cathartic way of ending Abby. Then....nah...actually revenge is bad and sorry to all those people that had to die for me to get to you Abby, but oh well. Byeeeeee!
    If my fiancee hadn't been asleep next to me on the couch I would have let out an agonized scream at that point.
    My question is, did Neil Druckmann honestly think people would be on board with this? Was he surrounded by yes men during the whole production? Did't anyone take him aside to say "hey Neil, I don't think this is such a great idea. Might piss off a lot of people and effectively Last Jedi our franchise into the ground." But I guess nobody dared to speak up and we ended up with this train wreck.
    Honestly, I don't think a game has ever affected me in such a negative way. I have been feeling this ball in the pit of my stomach, feeling depressed and angry for the last few days now. Wishing I'd skipped this one now.    … Expand

It's like this... there are definitely better games than metal gear solid 2 but that doesn't mean metal gear solid isnt my favourite, the same way in which you can get better dogs than my golden retriever... but I like my golden retriever.     They stomp right over the original game just so they can create some sort of feverish nightmare of a story with sjw politics injected artificially. Breath of the wild dealt with these issues perfectly. They didn't let it affect the story and they didn't force it down your throat

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I played this game as soon as it installed and these are my honest thoughts and opinions as well as critiques.

    The last of us 2 tries to be a post apocalypse story that is diverse and different, however it feels forced and agenda pushing through nearly the entire story, while the game-play feels fluid and combat is more satisfying than the first game, the risk reward is just not there and ruins the game-play experience.

    The story for the last of us 2 leaves you feeling as if the game was never finished, the ending is certainly there but it is a disappointment, in-fact alot of this game disappoints with trailers blatantly LYING about Joel's involvement in the game, some scenes are model switched such as flashbacks in the game being shown in the trailer as present old Joel and Ellie in the ads. Naughty dog/ Sony blatantly lied to people in the games advertising to sell more copies and in the final product there is very little present day interaction with Joel and Ellie.

    Overall, The agenda pushing in this game mixed with the lying of Advertisements for this game ruin the experience for the Last of us fans, While the gameplay is definitely improved and voice acting is superb the story is a massive let down even for people who this game tries to pander to and bleak story lovers.

    I normally would have given this game a 2 or 3 just for the game-play and voice acting alone but with the lies in advertisement and a story so bad that i believe the game should have been scraped and redone from the start story-wise along with agenda politics forced into our video games especially at a time like this when games are used to escape the real world, i had to take points away from what my normal score would have been. i sincerely hope this will be a lesson learned on naughty dogs part and their next games will be better in the future.

IT does what IT wants and no consequences for her action. I never played a story game for it's visual so it does not matter if the graphic is good.… Expand

    The story is complete garbage. I gave 3 points for the extraordinary talent this team has. The potential is there, the graphics are true next gen and mind blowing, the acting is top notch. But the story is is the main issue I have problems with. I won't need to spoil it, go a see a full playthrough on YouTube. Thank me later.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Even if the attention to detail is amazing in this game and the graphics are gorgeous for a ps4, the story was a huge letdown for me. Joel's death was anticipated from the first game, taking the fact that he basically butchered entire groups and some survivor would come to take revenge. The problem is that could've been done better than setting a game because a pointless npc from the first game died at the end. Abby's character is a problem in many ways:
    1. a woman would not look like that in a million years without steroids treatment 2.everything she is doing is pure psychotic, and it represents that this character has seriously mental issues
    3. Her companion, Lev(Lilly) is annoying just because screams : I'm a boy not a girl, please accept me! A good character is known for it's personality, not for sexuality. The last part with the rattlers is totally pointless : Ellie abandons it's girl for an old revenge story but when is about to kill abby she stopped because, joel wouldn't do the same thing, forgetting that we talk about a guy that butchered an entire military group to save her life.    … Expand

    The game is more fake than it is. 0815 Revenge story, the gay characters only exist because it is hip and current. The worst part is the boring gameplay. A would-be film. I'm a gamer and I always prefer cool gameplay to story. I also don't buy the characters. Everything very, very artificial.

    I have never been so disappointed in a game. Giving it a 4 is generous. The gameplay and visuals were beautiful but the plot and story just felt like a cash grab. That game could have been half of the length that it was. And I felt like I thought it was the ending 5 different times. Any part that I thought was the ending would have been better than what we got.

    - Neil Druckmann, el vice presidente del estudio, forzó a Amy Hennig que renunciara de ND por diferencias ideológicas. Ella fue la escritora de Uncharted 1-3 y se negaba a incluir cosas progres como lo vemos en Lost Legacy y el nuevo TLOU.

    - El también tomo consejo de Anita Sarkeesian, una conocida charlatana que quiere insertar su ideología en los videojuegos aunque no le guste el medio en realidad.

    - Personajes mujeres hechas feas por la idea de que diseñarlas con rasgos femeninos es "objetificacion" (gracias a Sarkeesian)

    - Naughty Dog abuso del sistema de copyright para tumbar cuentas de Twitter y Youtube que hablaran del juego aunque no incluyera videos. Comentarios son desactivados en Youtube y Twitter para evitar criticas.

    - La hipocresía de Sony al censurar juegos de terceros que incluyen desnudos parciales/fanservice pero dejan escenas sexuales explícitas en TLOU2

    - ND abuso de sus empleados al hacerlos trabajar horas extra y sin pagarles (no se si tiempo después si les pagaron) aún así lo retrasaron cuando el juego ya estaba completo y eso causo que se filtrara (supuestamente por un empleado molesto)

    - Druckmann se insertó como personaje en el juego para escupir el cadáver de Joel y tener sexo con uno de los protagonistas, además en un item donde dice tener 100 de cerebro (imagen)

    - En el juego es imposible disparar a objetos que tengan relación con la religión judía (si no me creen díganme y les paso un vídeo)

    - La historia es una basura, te hacen controlar a un personaje nuevo que mató a uno muy querido. El final es incongruente y anticlimatico.

    - Cualquier crítica hacia el juego es tachado de homofobia o machismo

    - ND usó un cover de una canción por una youtuber sin darle crédito en uno de sus trailers
    A esto y otras cositas es que le pasó a este juego
    -La forma en la que la prensa de juegos manejó todo, dándole un 100 y ahora atacando a quien lo califica mal con sinónimos de intolerancia es un plus a todo lo turbio detrás de este juego - y los puntos le doy es por la gente trabajo haciéndolo, que fue explotada y renunció a la empresa por las medidas de ND y por qué se nota se esmeraron en lo gráfico y lo jugable que es lo único que vale la pena, pero no para darle 100 como la prensa, que decía era una maravilla de guion, de ser así, se ve que se sorprenden entonces hasta por qué sale el sol    … Expand

    Yo hey guys, So I'm a new rising reviewer and I just played through the last of us blind. This is not a good game, and I am a massive fan of the first....
    To sum things up quite quickly the game for me would have been a solid 4 or 5. This is due to its gorgeous graphics and somewhat polished controls. The game has not done anything to evolve significantly gameplay wise. In saying so there were more situations in which the game offered multiple tactics in order to progress which I liked. The game's NPC's are not that great and the overall pacing of the game is constant unlike the first. This made the game feel long and just one big drag.
    However the Last of Us part 2 deserves a big 0.
    This game is constantly forcing a political agenda down my throat whether I like it or not. Numerous times I wanted to just turn off the game however for the sake of making an unbiased review I hammered on towards the end. Why make these sort of statements in something we play as an escape from reality? So stupid and unnecessary.
    I have been a big fan of Naughty Dog over the years but this is the game that ruined it for me. A lot of fans of the original will find this game extremely disappointing.
    Save your money and stay clear of this one.
    If you ever so happen to play the first one again, make sure to take out every single person in that hospital.    … Expand

    Rather than make this an epic farewell to our beloved character, they killed Joel like sh*t.
    Joel deserve better. It's not about his dead but about how he died.

    The story would be much much more better if Joel got separated from Tommy and somehow in life and dead situation and then saved by Abby, a long the way then Abby learn their names and invite both of them to her hideout.
    Joel of course would be refuse at first, but because she saved his life and too far away going back home he'll eventually agree.

    And the golf club, if that's Joel we know from the first game he will fight till the end. He will grab the club from the first swing, smash Abby's leg and before he can smash Abby's head, Manny shot him. And then Manny gave Abby the gun, Ellie comes in and saw Abby shot Joel to dead.

    That's would be more sense, and epic farewell to Joel.
    The end if Ellie finally let Abby live, we can understand and accept it.
    But after Abby brutally and tortured her figure father to dead and pursue her and in the end let her free, WTF is that!

    The story not only sets some sort of weird agenda but is written as if the twilight author was drunk and had taken way too many drugs.

    great game for 30 minutes.

    Tlou 1 was great, so what the actual hell happened here? The story is complete GoT season 8 level garbage.

    The only good things here are the graphics and voice acting. The gameplay is meh at best, repetitive and a bit outdated.

    I do not care if they include characters of any gender, race, color, etc. If they thought that this is enough to classify a story as good, I don't know what happened to them. The characters and their motivations are poor and throughout the game it only gets more absurd, basically destroying the strong point of what the first game did.

    This game is a slow-moving car crash. WOW! How can such a reputable company miss the mark so poorly and completely dump on Joel/Ellie? If you loved what the first game represented, there's a huge chance you'll despise this game. Naughty Dog takes the things you loved about this game and just destroys the bonds between the two main characters to push a SJW agenda.

    I can't believe the writing and motivation are so weak. WHYYYYYYYYY!!!! This is so bad I can't even begin to share my disgust. I have deleted the game and I will be looking for a refund or a credit.

Потом 4 трейлер... Я заволновался сильнее. И потом бац, утечка спойлеров, которые я к сожалению увидел. В них не было ничего хорошего. Потом обзоры от отечественных критиков, которые как один обсуждали одну из самых больных тем игровой индустрии, которая возникла в этой игре. И под конец я понял, что тут действително все довольно плохо. Теперь к самой игре: тут все просто ужасно. Один из самых амбициозных эксклюзивов имеет посредственный сюжет, устаревшие игровые механики и нудный, приедающийся геймплей. Даже расхваленная графика местами дает серьезные сбои. Уровни сложности сами себя не оправдывают, ведь если играть не на самом последнем, то вы считай в какую-то другую игру играете. Сюжет с самого начала мне не нравился, но я ждал, может что-то изменится, но нет, ведь в середине игры разработчики ее просто решили уничтожить, заодно похоронив то, что дала нам первая часть. Абсурдность второго персонажа переходит все границы, она ужасна от слова совсем. Ее присутствие в игре никак не вяжется с тем, что для 2 части действительно важно. Я не буду вдаваться в подробности, но плох почти каждый аспект нового сюжета. В конце отдельно хочу упомянуть аномальное количество сильных женщин - ну это абсурд, как их сила и навыки, так и само количество женщин. Так же решили уделить внимание различным меньшинствам, даже не знаю как к этому отнестись, скорее нейтрально, но будто вместо стараний над сюжетом разработчики старались раскрыть тему меньшинств. Instead of following in the steps of its predecessor, the sequel throws away much of its character-development, atmosphere, and world-building for the sake of adding a playable antagonist. Despite early news promising the development of Ellie and Joel's bond, the latter is killed in the prologue of the game by said antagonist. Instead of naturally becoming a revenge story, the writers try their hardest to make the player emphasize with Abby - something incredibly difficult to accomplish if the player developed a connection to the protagonists from the first game. Characters close to Ellie die or abandon her unceremoniously throughout the course of the game in scenes that seem more reliant on shock value than good writing. Those who die are always taken out by Abby, and you'll occasionally play as her for these scenes. At the ending, Ellie saves Abby's life before challenging her to one last fight. Despite having two of her fingers bitten off in the struggle, Ellie gets the upper hand and is all set to drown the woman who has taken everything from her. With a brief vision of Joel flashing through her mind, she makes a disappointing decision to let go of Abby and allow her to get away. At the end of the day, Ellie is left with nothing.     Ellie revenge arc is also meaningless cause she kills hundreds of people just to get to abby, but when she gets the chance the kill her she doesn’t,this pretty much just makes everything you did pointless cause you literally achieved nothin from it

    Abby is the worst character in the game,she is a complete random who kills joel and they think that we are gonna want to play as her for like 1/3 of game,Why the **** would i want to play as the killer of the most beloved character in the game?

    The first game is a masterpiece, phenomenal graphics for its time coupled with a meaningful and emotional plot. The gameplay was good, not great, though. Anyway, it was expected for anyone to go into the second game with high expectations.
    Well, then the leaks came, and those who saw it realized that everything the first game built was basically thrown into the thrash. 

    Here's a summary if you decided to avoid the leaks and warnings:
    The main character, Joel, is killed two hours into the game in the most imbecile way possible. After that, you are FORCED to play as the character who killed him and the game even makes you try and sympathize with him/her. I honestly don't know what "gender to assume" for this character here, and an awkward and unnecessary sex scene only worsen things. If this character was conceived as a trans person, then it was one of the most disrespectful representations I've seen. By the way, TLoU II is full of misrepresented people. Not going into details here, but you can check the videos, it is outright disgusting and made for pure shock value. That’s just not how you do it, not how you do it at all.
    Now, the game is told like a revenge story of sorts, but never works. Joel and his brother are killed in front of Ellie, who forgets about it for a time (CORRECTION: Only Joel was killed, Tommy comes back later. The guy took a shotgun shot to the head and still managed to survive, go figure). Then, a long time later, Ellie is visited by Tommy and decides to abandon everything she had (even girlfriend and her kid) to finally get revenge for Joel's death. Also, according to flashbacks in the game, it is hard to believe how Ellie still cares about Joel, who is mistreated by her several times, so that was maybe remorse instead of revenge? Idk.
    Anyway, back to this joke of story, Ellie finds Joel’s killer, Abby, and after a brutal fight decides not to kill her/him. Yeah, that's it, she just tells Abby to go home.
    The game ends with Ellie alone, struggling to play a guitar because she got her fingers bitten and removed during the last fight.

    What a mess.

    Finally, let’s set the record straight, the graphics are awesome and the voice acting is top notch, gameplay stays basically the same, so still somewhat good, if sometimes a bit clunky. 
But don’t be fooled, we can’t just paint a turd gold and expect people to love it. If anything all this eye-candy only makes everything even more sad, like a big missed opportunity to build a game that respects Joel/Ellie journey and relationship.
    Shame for Sony, shame for Naughty Dog and shame for everyone actively involved in making the game like it turned out.
    
I gave this game 2/10 because two are the fingers Ellie lost. So, if I was not just trying to be funny, my rate would be a very round zero.
    In short, I don't know who you are or where you are from, if you liked the first game or not, but I can tell you this: Stay away from The Last of Us Part II!    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'd like to start off by saying that the first game was a masterpiece that really introduced strong characters and an engaging plot. Sadly, as much as I try to find something positive about this steaming pile of **** I cannot forget about how the plot has taken a nosedive to a horrendous level. There are so many decisions and plot choices that are so horrific that it's hard for me to believe that this pile of garbage belongs to a game series that has been glorified for so many years.

    Where to even begin..Joel has been an integral part of the series for so long, and while I completely understand that the writers wanted to send him off, this was NOT the way to do it. It was completely disrespectful to Joel's character. The entire scenario of Joel getting ambushed is completely unlike the Joel that was showcased in The Last of Us 1. If the writers wanted Joel out of the series, could they not have the decency to do it in a way that was slightly respectful of the characters and wasn't unlike his actual character???

    It's also hard to ignore the elephant in the room. Abby was introduced in this game as the person who murdered Joel for killing some random doctor that was going to operate on Ellie. Throughout the entire first game, it's been made apparently that the Fireflies are a terrorist group that use violence to accomplish their means. Yet for some reason, the second game decides to portray them and Abby as heroes and protaginists instead?? There literally couldn't be a worse way to set up a character's backstory. Her character was a joke, and completely unlikeable!

    Apparently, the entire plot is supposed to be some sort of revenge story with Ellie going after Abby for vengence for murdering Joel. She murders dozens and dozens of her henchmen to get to her. Yet for some completely unknown reason, Ellie chooses to spare Abby's life after finally having Abby at her mercy. This makes no sense!! It completely demolishes her entire journey!

    Overall, I can't like this game. I just can't. It disrespects all the characters, introduces new ones that are unlikeable, has bizzare plot holes that make no sense, and consists of a revenge story that has a confusing ending. I'm incredibly disappointed with this bleak game, and I cannot reccomend this to anyone.    … Expand

    Beautiful game.

    But the overall story is utterly nonsensical. Wasting the majority of the game with a boring and blank character like Abby was a huge mistake. Naughty Dog should have stick their guns with Ellie... playing as Abby feels like a massive side quest / a boring DLC that really didn't hit the mark.

    TLOU fans deserved better.

Clear change is needed to prevent your cash cows from being slaughtered by incompetents being involved in the creative process.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
