    Graphics are good, but the story not so much. If you are a busy person who just wants to play a game to relax after a long day at work/studies, this game is not for you.     If you had told me back when this game first got announced that we'd get a garbage story like this, I would've thought you were lying and would be pissed you would even say something like that.

    I use to think that Neil Druckmann was an actual good writer/director considering he headed TLOU and Uncharted 4, but I'm coming to realize how much he rode on the coattails of Amy Hennig and all other veterans who left after Uncharted 4. It was actually they who had concreted stories down for both of those game before leaving (or being kicked out of in certain cases) Naughty Dog.

    With them gone and giving no more input into Naughty Dog's games, it's clear how far the company has fallen from grace. This was a company I grew up with. Crash, Jak & Daxter, Uncharted, TLOU... This new game is completely out of character for a once well respected studio. Even more so, it's come to light that under Neil's direction, crunch is brutal, expression of different beliefs than his have been aggressively denied, and the company tries to shut up those who leave the company through illegal NDAs.

    If this is what 7 years can produce under a one hit wonder and egocentric man like Neil Druckmann, I fear Naughty Dog will never be seen like how they use to; with respect and gratitude.

    In short, this was a horribly written game on the same level of teenage fan fiction, and I don't recommend it to anyone.    … Expand

    Imagine you order the most beautiful coffee table you have ever seen in your life, and the price it's the average price that usually an expensive coffee table has (AAA game). So the cheap price or a good discount factors were not considerations, you just want the happiness it will bring to your life because you love coffee (games) each morning and that cost the extra money for you. Now the company bring you the coffee table, install it, and leave. Next morning, you serve your coffee in your special cup, put the cup on the coffee table and the table crumbles, falls and practically destroy itself, and there goes my special coffee cup with it.
    Now ask yourself should i give a good review or some positive points to the table for being beautiful even if did not do what it suppose to do? And even took my beautiful coffee cup that i loved with it.

    As a side note, you know time costs money (unless you don't value yourself). So what about the time yo invest looking for that (experience), reading lies of it, waiting for it, and now the process of maybe losing your hard to get money to, or give more of your time for a refund process, and possibly enter in a discussion loop with the company, that at times it goes nowhere.

    Some people will say “Well, that's what reviews are for” Well, this game receive a lot of perfect scores (even more than The Witcher 3), this game is proof that the media its not a trusty source, so if you still do trust those media companies, then the non-objective is you, because you are living in a fantasy bubble. Others will say “Then you should wait for a more trusty users review” Well i'm that guy, and even being that guy this companies still indirectly screw you with this garbage. How? in my case, it was a kind gift from my girlfriend, she knew i loved the first one. And because a gift is something you normally get without you knowing, companies still get you in a way. I did not told her this i'm sharing with you because, i didn't want to broke her hearth, but learned from this and no more games as a gift for me, quality food never fails in my book.    … Expand

NaughtyDog has been an amazing game company for more than a decade BUT let's cut to the chase, TLOUS2 is not good. at least in a matter of storytelling. how come? Pretend NaughtyDog gonna announce Uncharted 5 in the next E3 and you just gonna get hyped for playing it and afterward, after playing it for 2 hours, NATHAN DRAKE is gonna get killed. Hurts? It really does because he was the main reason you have probably bought the game in the first place. There's a similar scenario for TLOUS2. You have bought the game not just for great graphics and gameplay but for the masterpiece STORYTELLING you experienced in the first game. You bought the game for the strong emotional connection between Joel and Ellie. Why would the writer gotta kill off the character that made you in love with the game in the first place? It makes no sense. That's why people are mad. ofc they love the gameplay, graphics but what about storytelling?
    Even a huge media like IGN is barely talking about the whole story in their review! Players buy the game for not the huge graphics but the connection they make during their play. They not gonna talk about how hard the mission was, they gonna talk about how fun it was playing that mission with the character. And shoutout to NaughtyDog for ruining that for us.     Cannot believe Naughty Dog would butcher the story in this way. EXTREMELY disappointed. Do yourself a favor.. Just watch the game movie or the streams. You will be pissed if you buy it.

    It breaks me and my heart to wright this but after playing through this game the only thing I wish for was to have read the spoilers and never buy the game. I played through the first TLOU countless times, cried every time Sarah died completed it 100% grew to not only like but to relate to Joel, Ellie, Henry, Sam, Tommy and even Marlene. This game part 2 offers NONE of the qualities that made the first one not only good BUT a masterpiece. I have more respect for and carry more love towards Henry a character from the first that you play with for not even 1/5 of the story, then I will ever for Abby. She is an antagonist that you clearly are not here to relate to, given what she does at the beginning of the game without any exposition or explanation, yet you are forced to play as her for a good 8-10 hours of the game. Subverting expactions is NOT how you treat the sequel to one of the, if not the, most beloved PS4 titel of all time. We grew with, and came to love, relate and appreciate both Ellie and Joel through there story of grief, redemtion and hope from the first game, yet in this one it seems that the story writers either didnt play the first game or they didnt care about continuing the story where we left of. Joel accepting Sarah's death and Ellie hoping for a better future as a surrogate father daughter realationship. It breaks my heart to write all of this but I went into this game 100% blind and still with some hopes that all this negative attention the game was getting was wrong. To anyone calling this a "masterpiece" either you are bought or you just like the semi stealth gameplay to which I say go play assassins creed it offers similar stealth gameplay only better with a wider scope and not for 60 bucks. It breaks me to write this I loved ALL characters and the story from the first one such a shame they made it the way it is. I am still hoping it is all just a dream and we will wake up from this nightmare.

    The game is full of activism and the goal is to show the mentality of the developers.
    Absurd graphics, very good gameplay, really cool semi-open scenery, but the really bad story worthy of an Oprah Winfrey program.

    Story: Dreadful. For a game based on story this makes it just unplayable.

    Sadly overhyped with a v.poor story. The graphics are nice but as an open world fan who recently played the ND collection they can't make up for a poor story in a story driven game. Also felt like the games advertising was very misleading - not quite a bait & switch but not far off

If you want to express your political opinion there´s a place for that and games shouldn´t be corrupted by clearly paid and made up reviews just because it matches your beliefs.     A Pointless kill of one of everyone's favorite characters... (at least learn to do it properly with the BEST... Arthur Morgan) And force us to care and play with the killer half of the game.... And I can't even have my "ducking" revenge???

    first they killed joel in very lame way that doesn't make any sense(Joel and tommy are experience hunters they save abby and then our good boy tommy tell her his and joel name wow like a unexperience little boy and then they agree to go a stranger hideout and telling all of them their name wow i think they both lost their mind) and aslo why abby team let ellie and tommy lives thats also doesn't make any sense (they killed joel very brutal way and now they showing sympathy WOW)
    and in the end of the game ending doesn't not make any sense i know its revenge but thats not how its work man, ellie kills dozens of peoples to find abby and doesn't kill her AND LET HER GO
    ellie mostly kills all abby teammates (who only sees abby killing joel with GOLF) in very cruel way and in the end she gets joel flashback and then she didn't kill abby WOW, when ellie kills dozens of people and abby teammates why she didn't get that flashback before
    and there is lot more plot holes and rush kills
    they also give tommy handicap
    in the end the last of us part 2 story is very bad story i ever seen including Games & Movies & Everything

    GAMEPLAY -
    gameplay is same as before the only thing new is dodge and crouch
    also they downgraded the gameplay i think they show completely different gameplay in E3 Showcase
    Very well gameplay is fun for me but its same are before

    GRAPHICS -
    graphic is the only think that are incredible about last of us part 2 but you know graphic doesn't make game good

    OVERALL -
    i enjoy gameplay but not story
    and its very bad experience i ever have playing the game

    and i never recommend it to anyone

    Loved “Last of Us” but this game is irredeemable. Why they went this direction with the story I don’t know but key characters make decisions that COMPLETELY go against what their character should or would do. This game had the opportunity to be something great but instead it tries to shock you and pull a Game of Thrones season 8 on you.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First off, I'd like to say that if anyone from the art/animation/music/gameplay departments happens to see this, you guys did an amazing job and I'm sorry your talents had to be wasted on a game with such **** storytelling.

    I tried to like this game...I really, truly did. The first one was in my top 10 favorite games ever, so when the leaks for this came out I avoided them like the plague so I could judge the game myself on release. What an utter mistake that was. To be fair, the entire game isn't bad, just the vast majority of it, but the good parts give you a sense of what it could have been, and that makes it hurt twice as bad. I really enjoyed the game for the first hour or so, but then it all went to absolute **** from that scene (you know the one) onwards. I actually had to stop and take a day long break after I reached it. I know some people are dubbing the game as "Angry Lesbian Seeks Revenge", but I don't care that the game is focused around Ellie or that she **** girls. All that was in the first game anyway.

    *SPOILERS FROM HERE ON*

    What's really pissing me off is that not only does Joel - a character the fans know and love - die (Which I could almost forgive), but he dies in what feels like the first tenth of the **** game, in the most undignified way possible, and to some random chick we've never met or heard of before, who's life Joel had JUST saved like 30 seconds beforehand, and who is impossibly jacked for no goddamn reason considering we're in a post-apocalyptic world where food shortages and rationing are commonplace. Seriously, even in modern day with unlimited funds, a woman would need to maintain some crazy daily calorie intake for a physique like that, with a large majority being protein. And then as if that wasn't enough, to add insult to injury, they actually have the audacity to make you play as her afterwards as the protagonist of her own 10 hr+ side story! Not only that, but she's the least likeable protagonist ever, and the entire time i just wanted to go back to see what was going on with Ellie. Letting her die repeatedly in her segments was the most fun I had with this game.

    The only reason even I retained interest in the game long enough to finish it completely was because I couldn't wait to see Ellie slaughter ever last person who was in that room at the beginning, especially Abby, but ND couldn't even do that right! I nearly threw my PS4 out the window when Ellie spared her as if she didn't just spend the entirety of the game offing generic goons with no issues. I get that ND is trying to shove the "rEVenGe BaD" message down our throats, but it just comes off as hollow and disingenuine because Abby is able to get her revenge and walk away scott free, but Ellie loses everything and doesn't get **** to show for it. Anyway, I'm done. I just needed to get that out.

    Like I said, there are good things about this game of course, as with every game, but when the credits rolled I let out a big disappointed sigh and uninstalled it. if you enjoyed it, good for you, I'm glad. Most people who dislike it seem to want others to hate it just as much, but the fact is I really wanted to like it, and really tried to, but just can't bring myself to.    … Expand

    Joel dies way too early and cowardly, you play as the bad girl that kills him for so long, they made us believe that Joel was alive in the trailers, and it was a horrible ending. Thanks naughty dog

    I think the main reason why this plot decision does not work very well with most players is that Abby killed Joel, a very likable and easily relatable character from the first installment, way too early into the game. We've seen some character development in the first part, got deeply attached to Joel and Ellie's chemestry and then the writer immediately devalues evetything that happened back then. We know it was done on purpose to show that there is so much more to the overall picture of this 'civil war' between 'the last of us' and that there are no winners.
    However, the way it was so forcefully presented so early into the game feels so wrong and unjustified that you don't want to accept this. And you probably won't since the character do not act like themselves. While Ellie has never been particularly bright she has never been this careless about decision making and Joel has never been this passive and reserved when talking to Ellie. How the hell are we supposed to believe they haven't talked about Joel's decision to save Ellie before we get to see it near the end of the game?
    When a writer or game developer introduces many new characters there are going to be problems. We've not seen the logical end of the first story, yet the author still tries to make us believe it did not matter trying to shove his view on the situation in general without proper understanding of what made the first one so likable. I think it was a huge mistakes to opt for something new without finishing the old in this case.

    Play up until halfway, leave the aquarium and **** close the game, then go back and request a refund, the last of us part 2 does not exist past halfway.

From a gameplay viewpoint, many areas of the game play unbelievably slow and I found myself more often frustrated and bored than any other feeling. Now to what everyone is up in arms about. The story. The dialogue alone makes one wonder how this storyline made it past multiple levels of approval. The story seems to follow the ever popular trend of the entertainment industry of “subverting expectations” which usually entails moments crafted purely to provoke emotion of the consumer. Rarely are these moments provoking in a positive connotation. It’s extremely telling when youtube comments and posts on social media are more thought provoking and lay the groundwork for an exponentially better story arc than what played out in the multiple hours of game play found in The Last of Us 2. This video game pales in comparison to the first iteration and I advise against anyone wasting their money and especially time on this dumpster fire. I suppose the expression “the sequel is always worse” hits it mark once again. Ill give this game a 1/10 purely for that fact that it ran.… Expand

    Neil Druckmann simply took and ripped out heart from the fans. They did not care about everything, the main thing is to work out the agenda of minorities. He forever destroyed the story ... even the first part will now be apprehensively remembered. He has no forgiveness.

    Disappointment is no limit.

    This game was the brain-fart of the Niel Druckmann and Halley Gross. Westworld never mixed with LOU from the start.

    But what is most disturbing is Druckmann's and other's responses: ridiculing and mocking the fans, calling them haters, bigots and alike without a second thought instead of listening to their true concern and issues with the game! They can be so ignorant and arrogant because of their previous successes, what exactly the players expected and deeply trusted him. But they were betrayed.

    But why is that a so successful studio receives only 3.4 user rating? It cannot be just because of some lesbian action, it is because they destroyed everything, for the sake of forcing Druckmann's degenerate agenda!

    Ask yourself the question: do you want to play this game because of Last Of Us or because you want to play the character Abby who destroyed everything you found dear in the Last Of Us?    … Expand

    Aggravating story is why this game gets a 0. I came to this game FOR the story. The gameplay gets old fast but that would be forgivable if the story was one I enjoyed... or if it even made sense. Amazing visuals. Good music. It doesn’t redeem this one though.

This game has a story which does no justice to the beloved character from the original game and at the end of the game as a player you will feel like an idiot for sitting through this depressing s*it show and spending your money on it. All the beautiful visual and sound is not a big surprise as it is expected from a game releasing in 2020.

You played as a smart man who was alive due to the sole reason that he wasnt stupid. So what do they do in this game, that make him into the prize clown. Who the hell just announces who they are to a bunch of strangers. And when he can clearly tell that something is very wrong when he says his name, what does he do? He blindly remarks to them, you guys act like you know who we are? Stupid and lazy story telling. Also, they make you play as the person who killed him. Maybe it would have worked if we played all her back story before she kills joel, that way we can understand her side.     It was filled with plot holes, shock value for the sake of shock value, and the only meaning to find behind any of it was childish and shallow.

    i saw at the most of the reviews of this game were positive so i bought it, but that was a mistake. i didn't read any of the leaks before buying and finishing the game and now i regret not looking at the leaks because i just wasted 70 euro.

    I spent my money, spent my f**king sleep time, to play this game, along with a merda experience, ending like I was the silliest and cruelest man, everyone I killed in game was good and innocent, the girl I hated is an amazing angel. You did very well, naughty dog, and now let the players teach you what’s the consequence of being naughty.

    I wish the game wasn’t so linear and force-fed I wish that I had the options to choose which route to take and which direction to go choosing between a good ending and a bad ending for more replay ability however this game leaves me no choice and it made me feel sick to my stomach
