    They seem to have forgotten what made the first game good.

    The story is disjointed nonsense and the characters decisions don't really make sense.

    The game is honestly kind of depressing.

    The Last of Us 1 was awesome, The last of US 2 is a dumpster fire stay away unless you love bad stories, shoehorning the player to play certain charters in a certain way.

    It's bad and there is no way around it, you will regret it and wish you never bought it. I did!

    Tlou2 story was a sh*tshow with many plot holes. Gameplay not innovative at all and felt like a ps3 game. The only positive was the Graphics.

    Graphically a beautiful game but boring and dull. i would rather watch a piece of toast falling over to the music of kiroyuki sawano, at least it will be exciting to watch. the woke level with diversity and representation is over 9000 and not a game for the escapist.     Here I thought Ellie growing up to be such a ugly woman was the worst part of the game. Oh boy was I wrong, the game is so bad and without logic and if you ever played the first game or care about the main characters of Part I this game is going to really insult you and definitely disappoint you.

    I dont usually make reviews but this game is just that disturbing to me, that i had to. Im gonna try not to spoil this game as possible by not going into the story but giving my impressions. This game is torture-porn, it specifically goes out of its way to torture the player with gore and with bashing the player for being morally normal. By morally normal Im referring to having a normal set of morals. It is normal to feel remorse when taking the life of another, as a soldier this is how normal people deal with being forced to kill another human being if they are not a psychopath. It mentally destroys you, and causes severe psychological trauma because a normal person was never meant to kill another human. But the game specifically goes out of its way to make you try and hate the person who feels guilt for killing people and empathize with the actual villain who not only feels no guilt for killing others but who does so with gusto. I would say that Abby is actually a psychopath, but she displays love for her dog and friends. Can a psychopath display acts of love like that?

    I cant see this game as being produced by anyone other than an abuser. The reason i say this is because it is not natural empathize with Abby. This is a person who shows no empathy toward anyone she deems an enemy, and the studio specifically set out to get you to empathize with her. And more so they will make you feel bad for not empathizing with that person. This is why i said that the person that produced this game is probably an abuser, because they identify with abby on some level and wish for you to empathize with them in identifying with abby. The other reason I say that the person is an abuser is because the actual goal of the game is to make the player feel as bad as it can, I dont know why you would want to do that unless you are a sadist. As i am not a masochist i cannot like this game.

    The game wants to take everything you love from the first game and completely destroy it. if I was to compare, it would be like if they killed off harry potter in the 4th film and then had hermoine take over, but then take everything away from her, ie kill her parents, kill off most of her friends, and then take away her ability to do magic, but on top of this Voldemort still wins. Or if we are talking about star wars, imagine if there is no return of the jedi film and the series just ends at the empire strikes back, instead empire wins and luke decides to leave forever. This means hans is forever frozen in cryptonite.

    As far as the gameplay goes, the AI is borderline retarded. They have a track that they are on and i didnt think i saw them deviate at all from that track unless it was to investigate. In the beginning of the game you can see this very clearly this in the snow. They leave tracks in the snow, and you can see that the enemies never left a set path like something as simple as a triangle path. I dont think that a game that is this heavily focused on stealth should be this predictable...

    The game is incredibly repetitive. You go into to an area, and stealth knife everyone, rinse and repeat, throughout pretty much the whole game. I mean you might get caught, and then you have to deal with the clunky way that you aim, and the limitation on ammo.

    The reason i gave this a 4 is because I did not enjoy this game. I found spongebob battle for bikini bottom, mafia 2 definitive edition, and predator hunting ground all more enjoyable, so i must objectively rate this game below those. I even enjoyed aliens colonial marines more, and that is saying something... The makers of this game I think specifically set out to make an unenjoyable game, and i think they accomplished that, but my score is going to reflect that. your not going to get a high rating from me for the "art" of the game. if I was to compare this to art, it would be like if someone took the mona lisa and took a dump on it, and put it back up for you to "enjoy". Im sure there would be plenty of psuedo intellectuals who would praise that as well, for how "profound" the message is, but I dont believe the message "revenge bad" is profound at all. The only thing you accomplished is destroying an actual work of art, and showed how disrespectful you are in the process.    … Expand

I have to admit the game is beautiful, but if you are a gamer that plays for the story. You'll have a bad time trying to rationalize the story. The magic of the first game is lost. In the first The Last of Us, you grow with a character that goes from grumpy old man, to a father who has something to live for. You experience Ellie's struggle as a survivor. You experience the joy of a father and a daughter's love BUT Part II's story doesn't continue the fatherhood story line. You end up having Joel becoming a side character. A ghost of Christmas past if you will. Ellie's goes full Punisher on this game and it doesn't feel deserved. My only regret is hoping Part II would echo any magic from the first game.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is a perfect example of the poor story writing. It stands nowhere near the original story of Joel and Ellie and it rather feels like a fan fiction of the talentless teenager.

    I have to admit that the gameplay and graphics are awesome and ND employees responsible for these elements did a great job. And it's te only reason why this games doesn't get "0" or "1".

    However, these elements are not the most important in the game which wants to present a certain story. It is the story itself that has to be great. Unfortunately, it is not the case when it comes to TLoU 2.

    Neil Druckmann and his crew clearly show that they don't give the monkeys about the first game of the series: its heroes, their motivations, character traits, and so on and so forth. They simply threw everything into a dustbin and spit into the faces of the players who fell in love with Joel and Ellie.

    I totally understand that the postapocalicptic world is hostile and there is a high chance of some of the characters being killed one way or another. But, for the f* sake, you don't slaughter Joel like a pig by the character who at this point of the story is completely random. No explanation, no insight into the character of Abby who murders Joel and then forcing the players to play as this steroid-eating monster for about 10 hours is barbaric, terrible, unacceptable and it is simply a punch in the players' faces. Not to mention the fact that Joel and Tommy completely open to the newly met person they know nothing about xD

    However, even if Joel's death could be considered understandable or acceptable, the events after his death make the game even worse. Ellie clearly suffers when she kills Abby's friends but sees nothing wrong in murdering hundreds of random NPCs (f* logic and freedom of choice when it comes to completing the game - either in Rambo or stealthy way). Then we get to the ending of the game which is about REVENGE and yet we get no revenge. Ellie loses everything: Joel, Dina and "their" child, Jessie, two fingers (which make it impossible for her to play the guitar - her last connection with Joel) and she lets Abby live!!!

    Mr. Druckmann, WTF is wrong with you man?! You blatantly show the murderer of Joel - the killing machine without any moral code who sees nothing wrong in killing a pregnant woman or butchering Joel in front of his brother and Ellie who begs her to stop - not meeting justice for what she did. You deny the whole point of the games which is about REVENGE. So what was the point of the whole journey of Ellie? She could've stayed in Jackson - at least she wouldn't lose anything apart from Joel.

    At the end I would like to "thank" Naughty Dog for deluding players with the fake trailers, lying about Ellie being the only playable character, no need to kill dogs to complete the game, etc. The company which brought us the beautiful games like Crash Bandicoot trilogy, Crash Team Racing, Jak and Daxter series, Uncharted series and the first TLoU turned into a ruin when it comes to story writing. Neil Druckmann destroys the heritage of over 20 years of ND (including crunch of the workers) and he cares more about including the "progressive" ideology into the game instead of the great story itself. As long as people of his kind lead ND, I will spare my time and money for their next projects. It's sad but it's necessary to see the company revive.    … Expand

While the graphics and sound are incredible and deserve praise, the gameplay mechanics have not evolved much since Part 1 but the story, ohhhhh the story. Without really spoiling anything, I was very sad to see that the leaks were true and I don't know if I'm going to continue playing after posting this review. Today 2/26, I downloaded the game, started playing, and understood that I don't want to walk through this again. I don't want to see been killed Joel or bitten Elli. I don't want to see the story where the screenplay messes Elly and Joel with **** I feel sad. I want to play but do not want to watch this story, not ever again. BTW I bought the Ghost of..., and it is good - soo good. The game should give any emotions, but not hate, to the players. That is why GoT better the last of us part 2.… Expand

They kill off Joel, the creative director put himself in a sex scene with Abby (she kills Joel btw) The story is so **** dumb with some **** only happening to make the story go forward but it feels so unfinished and rushed, the ending shows Abby (the bad guy in this for the main characters) having a happy ending as our main character has a **** sad ending, losing everything. **** off with this mistake of a game.. Uma lacração que estragou a historia do jogo a naughty dog sempre fez grandes jogos com jak and dexter, crash bandicoot e principalmente a serie uncharted que é uma das maiores franquias da historia dos jogos com gameplay e historia incrivel. Já o the last of us part 2 me decepcionou pois. A historia que foi criada no primeiro foi totalmente destruida no part 2 que se transformou em uma lacração que não tem sentido sacrificaram o jogo para que o jogo fosse políticamente correto a favor da causa LGBT sendo que todos os jogadores estao cansados de lacração queremos jogar um jogo que não vem com essas bobeiras de lacração. A Microsoft não faz isso nos seus jogos e até mesmo a Sony não fazia mas com o the last of us part 2 fizeram e estragaram eu comprei pensando que era mentira os rumores.     Gameplay is solid. That said, this game does not resolve their own plot and feels frustrating with Neutral outcome and no resolve at each step of all your efforts. Simply said you are irrelevant in the outcome of the Story.

    This game punishes you for loving the first game. While beautiful technically, story wise this game ruins everything created by the first game, even the clickers have no impact. This same story could be transported to any world with no difference. Just such a disappointment after so long a wait.

    The graphics are amazing, loved them. Story was trash, game of thrones season 8 style. Killed the franchise, characters were just so... so bad. The gameplay was pretty much the same with little to no variation, jump button was bullsh*t as it looked like a drunk person trying to leap with a twisted ankle. Anyone who loved the first game be warned, for disappointment.

Have been waiting so long for a sequel. When i found out that the game was leaked i tried my best to stay away from spoilers. Everything about the game was great except it's story. Joel didn't deserve to go out like that. I expected that he would die in the sequel but why did you have to kill him off just two hours into the game,he deserved better than this. Identity politics in the game felt too forced. Why do SJW's have to ruin everything that i love? Everything that I loved about the first game was completely ruined by Neil Druckman.… Expand

If you loved the first The Last of Us game, story and characters, please, for the love of God, do NOT play this game! Naughty Dog does everything possible to ruin and destroy the story, dynamics and bonds earned and enjoyed with the original beautigul The Last of Us story. For example, in the beginning if the game, they Kill Joel (a Trans Abby smashes his head in with a golf club while licking her lips and slurping down the blood, skull and brain matter that splatters on her face, all the while moaning in ecstasy), then, after about 10 hours as Ellie, SJW Naughty Dog has the utter audacity to force you to play as Trans-Abby (the one that smashed in Joel's head with a golf club), and begins changing the narrative by painting Joel and Ellie as the "Bad Guys" while making the "new" Trans- Abby character into a "Superhuman-Superhero", aka "Marry Sue", meaning "IT" is now the most powerful character in the game, all the while painting "it" as a poor, victimized "thing" that has suffered so much at the evil and despicable hands of Joel and Ellie, that we MUST all feel sorry for "IT" and grant "IT" the revenge "IT" deserves by giving Abby the privilege and the obligatory, anointed right of sadistically, maliciously, brutally, maiming, destroying and finally murdering our beloved and cherished Ellie and Joel characters in conjunctionwith the e tire original The Last of Us storyline! Ultimately, Naught Dog forces us to suffer through this abomination of a story because Ellie and Joel were not SJW enough, so they must be punished for their sins with pornographic violence inflicted by a total "Marry Sue", "IT" character, aka Abby.     Loved part 1. Part 2 was so depressing. They did so many things to ruin or kill of the characters I cared for. Too much over the top violence and gore. I wanted to stop playing times but was hoping there would be something redeeming by the end. There never was. I wish I never played this.

I needed the time to process all of that before I could write anything.Because it's hard for me as a person who loved and enjoyed the first game.First of all I must be completely honest-I haven't purchased the game.Some of you may think-well then your review means nothing,but then again:WHY SHOULD I SPEND MY MONEY ON SOMETHING THAT BAD?
    True the mechanics and graphics and all technical aspects of the game are great,and it pains me to understand that these people who were working hard on this one will get such a backfire into them.Yet I'm glad that many reviewers gave these people a credit even if they hated the game.
    Now unto the main point-the characters,the storyline and MESSAGE.

    1)There was no logic in Ellie's actions if you ask me.You can't carve a bloody path to your enemy and then somehow spare him/her.This was stupid.Really stupid.

    2)Joel acted like a fool and I hope that I don't need to remind you about his past when he was killing people,then he was a smuggler.So due to his experience and he should've felt a threat from a mile away...They destroyed him as a character and then Neil Druckmann spitted on his corpse.He created such a great and complex character and then THIS happened.Great job.Self-destruction-100 as they say in memes.

    3)The message.I don't need Druckmanns political views.I needed a good story with a good well-written characters not this SJW stuff.Some may say that this is his project well then he won't get any money from me and the Capitalism always wins.

    4)Where did Abby got a fresh steroids during the apocalypse I wonder?
