    Its sad how bad it is...i loved the first game and was satisfied with it´s ending. Than comes the news of the sequel and i´m both concerned and exited and it´s now obvious that i had reason to be concerned. The sequel didnt improve in pretty much anything being worse in every facet. The memory of this beautiful story is now forever ruined because of the last of us part 2.

    Continuously educate players. Players paid money, spent time playing games, but got a terrible experience.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I so loved the first game. It was something in the era of GTA V that had story, compassion while this has stupidity which developers call hate. It's mindless and forced furthering the story.

    Like how did Joel and his brother come from nowhere to save Abby and her gang. Then how did Ellie end up right before Joel's death in the middle of nowhere?

    Forced story such as Abby and her dad saving a zebra and playing with dogs while Ellie is shown to be hating animals. Like why? This was an obvious trick to make players like Abby and dislike Ellie and they failed miserably in it.

    "Revenge is Bad" I know but why is a pregnant woman out in the forests shooting and doing things she shouldn't.

    This game's direction was horrible as hell, so was the push of stupidity.

    Not looking to buy another installment from this franchise anymore.    … Expand

    One of the worse if not THE worst game of all time. Insulting to the characters, insulting to the story and the introducing to Abby is THE WORST intro to ANY game character in HISTORY!! Don't deserve ANY awards whatsoever. Games like Tsushima, Doom Eternal, Hades, Animal Crossing and many more got robbed BIG time!

    I bought this game hoping its like the first game but no its literal garbage, i dunno how it won 300+ awards but all i can say is its a waste of money if i only knew id rather bought ghost of tsushima like my friend recommended to me

А вот и нет, почему практически в каждой игре про зомби люди не используют защиту от укуса? И вроде бы гг ещё в прошлой части получила укус за руку, т.к. руки - это основной инструмент ведения ближнего боя, так может стоит перевязать их или ещё что-нибудь придумать? Не, зомби здесь не представляют опасности, люди ходят в легкой одежде и не задумываются о будущем.
    Наверное главный противник людей в зомби апокалипсисе является человек, но и здесь игра умудряется разрушить всю атмосферу, когда в патруль отправляют беременную мадам. И ты уже не веришь в опасность происходящего. Чего? Враги там стреляют по нам? Да патроны просто холостые, ничего страшного, просто не смотрите на них и они не будут отрисовываться.

    Сюжет банален и прост как день, но с такими логическими дырами, что в жанр игры хочется добавить "комедия". Эбби, которая всем так нравится по сути является той ещё крысой, предавая своб общину ради... чего? Девочки, которая считает себя мальчиком. Вот это ПОВОРОТ, вот это сюжетищееее.
    Концов вызывает отвращение и непонимание. Элли, которая решила тайком слинять и завершить свой поход, да бы наконец-то быть спокойной и оставить прошлое в прошлом, оказывается пойманной Диной, которая уже родила и вместе с Элли растит ребёнка. И фактически ставит бросает Элли, ведь именно так и поступают близкие и любящие люди. Поддержать человека, прикрыть и остановить в нужный момент, как это сделала Лев для Эбби, нееет, а зачем, гораздо проще просто кинуть значимого для тебя человека и уйти в закат.    … Expand

    One of the biggest insults to players I've seen in my life. They made the whole advertising campaign profiting on Joel & Ellie's story, and they totally disrespected the story from the first moment... The game is just an attempt to make you feel sad, it goes out of its way just to provoke sadness. Learnt a lot of things with TLOU 1, but with this game I did not take any learnings at all...One of the biggest insults to players I've seen in my life. Очень посредственное продолжение , сюжетные дыры , нелогичное повествование , неинтересные сюжетные повороты , пропаганда нетрадиционной любви и феминизма . Вся игра построена на бессмысленном насилии . Могу только поблагодарить самих разработчиков геймплея и программистов за отличную оптимизацию для PS4.Кроме неплохого прорисованного мира и окружения , местами геймплея ,нечего хвалить.     hoy en dia mayo 3 2021 apenas pude hacerme de una play 4 por fin y me lleve una gran decepcion con este juego.... es una porqueria. lo mismo que el primer juego, publicidad engañosa ya que te dicen que jugaras con uno de los personajes mas amado joel y terminan matandolo para ponerte a una mujer-hombre y que no trae nada bueno a la historia.... porqueria

    Horrible letdown that messes up everything good about the first one. Its just an excuse of a game to promote a "woke" cultural agenda. It may have great graphics, but this game is not worth your money at all. It ruined the thrill I had for naughty dog and I won't ever be excited to buy any of their future products again.

Premetto che la Naughty Dog è una delle mie aziende produttrici di videogiochi preferite, perché le trame sono sempre appassionanti e i personaggi sempre magnificamente caratterizzati. Questa volta però ho notato un calo eclatante a livello di regia: la storia non è interessante, i personaggi non sono interessanti (a me hanno fatto incazzare, soprattutto Ellie, insopportabile!), l'evoluzione dei rapporti tra i personaggi non è interessante. Mi sono annoiato dal quasi inizio alla fine. Da estimatore del primo capitolo, il mio gioco preferito, posso dire che il secondo va a ad inquinare quella che sarebbe potuta essere una serie meravigliosa. Si trovano tematiche lgbt leggermente sforzate e il femminismo è espresso in tutta la sua pienezza: omosessualità, genitorialità omosessuale, transessualismo, la donna che va in guerra anche se incinta, la maggior parte dei nemici sono donne, la donna leader, l'uomo spesso è assoggettato dalla donna, l'uomo che si comporta da idiota (due tizi avrebbero avuto tutto il tempo e tutte le motivazioni per ammazzare Ellie e Dina ma non lo fanno, incredibile!!!), la donna possente/bodybuilder ecc (ci sono tutte le tipologie di donna esistenti mentre l'uomo non conta un xxx, si veda ad esempio la fine che fanno gli uomini rispetto alle donne). Io non ho nulla in contrario a queste riflessioni, anzi, la mia migliore amica è lesbica, ma costantemente si ha l'impressione di stare ad assistere a una discussione politica non connaturata al titolo. Voglio dire, quando videogioco mi piace godermi le belle storie, non assistere a propagande del cazzo. Inoltre anche il mondo di TLOU II è completamente diverso da quello di TLOU: non è più un mondo brutale ma una semplice guerra tra fazioni. In conclusione la trama la ritengo pessima e estremamente noiosa ed è impossibile stabilire un legame empatico con nessun personaggio eccetto Joel, che pur irriconoscibile rispetto a quello del precedente titolo sembra cavarsela. Per quanto riguarda il gameplay, discreto tendente al sufficiente: la schivata, unica vera innovazione, mi pare un movimento poco naturale, gli scontri coi boss non sono per nulla innovativi (decisamente meglio era il combattimento Nathan Drake - Nadine anche se parecchio scriptato), l'utilizzo dei martelli mi ha fatto sorridere ecc. Il comparto audio e sonoro è ottimo: meno male che Santaolalla ha fatto ancora il suo lavoro come si deve.… Expand

But the story was utterly butchered thanks to the new 'direction' they took the game. Killing an essential character that everyone loves (Which also was on the box art and everything to make believe that you would actually play as joel.) pure for shock value is such an weird way full of plot-holes is bad. Really bad. Rewriting Joel's character to make him trust strangers is weird and didn't feel like a man that survived as much as he did in the first one.

    story 3/10 because the beginning parts were nice.

Just like the dog being killed in the movie “The Lobster”. There is a specific name in theatre and film when this happens, but I can’t think of what it’s called exactly..what I can say is people who thinkDisgusting what they did to Joel. He deserved better.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. All'inizio del gioco ti sembra di essere davanti al capolavoro in assoluto.
    Dopo la morte di Joel, la voglia di vendetta e di vendicarlo ti assale e il gioco ti prepara per viverla.
    Il problema inizia quando inizi a vivere la storia da Abby; vani tentativi di farti amare un personaggio banale e odioso, con una caratterizzazione che ti porta a fartelo disprezzare da subito.
    Personaggi importanti che muoiono senza manco un minimo di focalizzazione su quanto accaduto.
    Un gioco che per quanto lento sembra non finire mai e che non ha un degno finale, ma tutto il gioco si può riassumere con "come se non fosse successo nulla".
    Grafica e dettagli di altissimo livello che vanno a scontrarsi con un IA non proprio "Intelligente" e cambi di dinamiche di gioco per cui non puoi essere minimamente pronto e ti obbligato al morire al first try.
    Il finale penso sia il peggio possibile, neanche immaginabile prima di giocarlo.
    Il voto che do si riassume in:
    9/10 le prime 10 ore;
    1/10 il restante gioco

A game that portrays two sides to its story but fails to convince the player to care for the character of Abby who is Joel’s killer. No one cares or will ever care about Abby, a much more enjoyable experience within the game whilst playing as Abby is killing her yourself than actually progressing the story. I cannot believe after 7 years this is the best Naughty Dog could do. What a load of **** 0/10, not even worth the $5 bin in Gamestop, leave this garbage where it belongs, in the trash.… Expand

    The game is boring. The combat and exploration lack the weight of the original. The new crafting system and graphics are good but they can't make up for the completely terrible story.

Halfway through, you will be forced to play as an irredeemable psychopath for 10+ hours and then the game will basically just end without any satisfaction. Abby is irredeemable and unlivable no matter how you look at it. Just watch a play through. Don’t support Neil or TLOU franchise past the first game. It’s really as bad as everyone says and it has nothing at all to do with the sexuality or gender of the characters. Don’t support this title, please. Do yourself a favor and skip it and downvote it to oblivion wherever you have the chance.… Expand

Then Ellie ends up not even getting her revenge at the end and the make you play as Abby and you can't kill yourself. Is pretty rough. This game has the intention to delivery a story where it failed. It gave us graphics and gameplay. The horror aspects were great, but a game that was made and advertised for story based elements then fail to deliver has no right to be Game of the Year. They should have done a game where you play as just Abby first before her dad died really build the character development and have this be a 3rd game in the series. The gameplay is good but it's nothing I haven't seen already. The graphics and atmosphere is where this game shines. I disagree with the critics on this heavily.… Expand

I think that this is the case with most people. I can’t see any entertainment value in a game as brutal and bleak and depressing as the last of us 2. I don’t want to feel depressed and angry when I want to unwind by playing a game. I understand that some games want to elicit some emotion from you to bring you closer to the story and make it more immersive, but they went way overboard on this one. Naughty Dog will turn around and say that it’s groundbreaking storytelling, but that’s a load of BS.

    I understand that the development team was trying to go in a different direction and capture different emotions from the user than they did with the first installment. This direction was a complete and utter failure. All I ever felt while playing this game was disgust and depression. It’s so dark and bleak, and I did not find it entertaining at all. I’ve only played it once. By comparison, I have played the original last of us at least a dozen times.

    I guess the biggest thing that bothers me about this is not the fact that they made a very polarizing, bleak, and depressing game that angered a massive portion of their fan base; it’s that they pretended like they didn’t do anything wrong and that the game that they created was made of pure gold sprinkled with Atlantis dust.     If you're going to kill off Joel, you better do something big to redeem it. It's okay for there to be tragedy in a story, but make up for it. The writers decided to have Ellie go through a lot of hell just to kill all of Abbie's friends, one being her boyfriend, the other a pregnant woman? That's so gross.

    "Oh, but we're writing about how no one wins when you make it about revenge." Then could you make it about something else?

    The point of Abbie's gameplay is basically to get you to understand why she did what she did, which is fine; and how she is actually a "good guy" and has experienced loss. I didn't mind the gameplay, but I question the reasons for it. So... are you saying I should flip and cheer for her over Ellie? Or do you just want me to understand how complicated this is and not cheer for anyone? By the way, you succeeded - I didn't want to kill Abbie anymore! I didn't really want to kill her in the first place, I just went along with it because what choice do I have?

    Basically, no one wins. The fans obviously don't win. Ellie sees two people whom she's close to die, goes through MORE hell and loses two fingers for nothing, and we don't see a welcoming committee when she returns. Abbie loses all her friends and she can't go back to her old life anymore. I honestly felt sorry for her. If anything, I was glad (I mean, if you can call it glad at this point) Ellie didn't kill her just out of pity.

    The gameplay was the best thing about it. It felt nostalgic. The survival aspects that made the first game great are still there. Fighting the monsters and bad guys was cool. I'd do it again for just for the fun of it if the story didn't suck.    … Expand

    -Las escenas de la guitarra tienen signifacado, pero no tienen un puto sentido y es una paja tener que tocarla. -2 quedamos en 7/10
    -El director fue Druckman. -100000 quedamos en 0/10
    -La Jugabilidad es preciosa(sistema de armas, loot, puntería), uno de los puntos fuertes del juego. +3 quedamos en 3/10
    -La música, ambientación y los coleccionables también ayudan y no me pareció mal. +2 vamos en 5/10

This game is not a 10 out of 10 game nor 0 out of 10, it is more like 4, 5 out of 10 game and that's it, the graphics are great, voice acting too, the controls are good, but the charters are not likeable, the story tries to have two climaxes, but it doesn't work because, charters get introduce but get killed off way too fast, also the story drags on longer than it should , Joel's death should have been better the game is forgettable, the only people who dislike this review are people who praise this game and trying to downplay legit criticism of Part 2, and attack Ghost of Tsushima and giving that game a 0 out of 10 which it doesn't deserve, did this game had it good scene? yes, but few and far between, other wise this game gets a 4.5 from me.… Expand

    I loved the first episode and was looking forward to the new life story of my favorite characters. Instead I got scripted garbage full of pointless killing, LGBT agenda and worst of all, the main characters are dead or complete sociopaths. This game is gaming and cultural garbage. Well done.

    Drawn out, creatively lazy and a huge middlefinger to the fans. Game is pretty but full of plotholes and contradictions. Easily the worst sequel to a great game. No real story/character development to speak of. Don't let the bought reviews fool you. Nobody liked this and and its naughty dogs only misstep. Avoid at all costs!

Most games don't get far by lying in interviews, manipulating advertising to swap characters, adding fake dialogue, and purposely creating new models just to sell a false story that is completely different from the end product because they know the product is poor and is not what the fan base wants. TLoU2 is no exception.

    Couple that with the theme of "revenge is bad" seemingly impacting Ellie and Joel exponentially more than the characters who actually started the cycle of revenge (thus negating the entire "point" of the story and turning it into nothing but a torture... fetish) and potential threats of blackballing for poor critic reviews and you have the makings of a critic darling but a user flop.

    The poor storytelling and lack of narrative cohesiveness would have placed this low to begin with, but the false advertisement and subsequent fake shock by Naughty Dog forces me to give it the lowest score possible.    … Expand

    The way the story is constructed is bad. Like so bad it breaks the original. They just HAD TO be ambitious with it, didn't they? You had a golden nugget, and you ruined it. Nobody cared how smart your storytelling you thought was. They cared about the characters. And my opinion, to be clear, has nothing to do with LGBT or politics (before people start pointing fingers).

Then they try to convince you that forgiveness is better than revenge, BULL****, if Ellie was the one massacred, Joel wouldn't stop until she paid with blood what she made Graphics 9/10 (tbh in 2021 there are way more competitive graphics)
    Music 6/10 (The last of us 1 music is 10 times better than this ones)

Most people critic the story of the game, only saved by the gamplay, but even the gameplay is culprit, since in most of the game your gameplay depends in the story, so you are forced to do and see cruel things that you dont agree with and somehow we are still supposed to be on the side of this evil chataracter.

    At least all this build up should end with Abby getting her comeuppance, which would be a new take in story telling, showing and making you do evil things, essentially making you hate the character to justify her comeuppance in the end, but it isnt the case, even after all that you are left with a hole in your heart, because even by instinct you think Abby is getting whats comming to her, but ends up getting scott free with half thought out excuses, which contradict their character, effectively contradicting themselves on their most basic morals.

    Lastly, shame on all the "game critics" writing biased reviews, unwilling to openly critique any big game, you all should reconsider your job if you are easily influenced by money of a big company, unwilling to voice your and the opinion of the people, its like rewriting history and is prospect for users to never take the critic score to heart, since it is easily swayed by money, and we should listen more to user scores, where they come from our hearts and actual experiences, because we care.    … Expand

    I played the game without seeing the leaks i was excited because i love the last of us part 1 and the remastered game and left behind
    But here....the story is very shallow i tried my best to focus on the story to understand the characters and the story but in the end it's just bad writing
    The new characters are .....well couldn't feel a **** about them i enjoyed manny death and nora death..i couldn't feel anything for dina she was just talking about herself over and over and the teen drama pregnant thing
    While the part 1 characters were changed so **** much
    It was so bad like joel tommy and ellie acting so out of character
    Anyway. Anything you make is supposed to be enjoyable
    Like the 300 movie . It's not historically accurate but it's fun to watch
    Even when you're trying to make a depressing story it's not hard to make it enjoyable
