    GOTY 2020 total BS. It has good graphics and that's about it. The rest of the game is so bad it's not even worth talking about, particularly the plot which is the worst I've ever seen in a video game. It's embarrassing this game got GOTY when both FF7 remake and Ghost of Tsushima did everything better.

    Se que hay personas que creen que calificar a este juego con 0 no es lo más adecuado porque tiene graficas y dinámica excelentes pero, para mi, si la historia es una falta de respeto que te deja un sabor no amargo, alquitrante en la boca dañando todo lo bueno que sentimos en el primer título, si se merece un cero.

Al personal de Naughty Dog y sobretodo a Neil Druckmann, si no van a hacer nada para arreglar el desastre que hicieron y siguen insultando la inteligencia de los fans mintiendoles y diciéndoles homofóbicos ignorantes.
    Nunca se van a poder redimir. Lamentablemente The Last of Us 2 va a ganar cómo el mejor juego del año ignorando las reseñas de miles de fans enojados y decepcionados porque a esta industria solo le importa el dinero.
    Neil druckmann no está preocupado en lo más mínimo de las críticas porque ya le compraron el juego. Eso es lo único que les importa.
    Tampoco está bien que los fans insulten al personal y a los actores que dieron vida a este fiasco . Pero lo que es inaceptable es que Neil Druckmann como vicepresidente de Naughty Dog insulte nuestra inteligencia y desvíe las quejas con faltas de respeto a los seguidores en ves de llamar al diálogo y escuchar atentamente la opinión de los fans para ver como arregla el problema.

    But this game, oh boy.
    I absolutely loved first game, it was one of best games I ever played. And I played a lot.
    And second is also fantastic but only from technical aspect. Graphics, gameplay, weapons, physics are fantastic.
    But story is such crap I can't believe it. It's nothing more then advancing LGBT agenda. They used one of the most popular games to promote LGBT, transgender characters etc. It seems like it was written by bunch of male haters. Killing Joel, common? One of the most loved characters ever?
    But ok, I could live with that but then game forced you to play with person who killed him. For half of the game!? WTF? I was really disgusted with that concept. And in the end, when you finally have chance to kill that disgusting character game writers are letting her go?! Really?! **** really!? They even don't leave choice in killing her or let her go, just one, disappointing end.
    I have advice for all who loved first game, when you come to part where Abby comes to theater save your progress manually. And then leave Ellie to kill Abby over and over again. It was most enjoyable moment in whole game. You can finish it later but trust me, save that spot. The game wouldn't end the way you like it.
    This LGBT trend started long ago with movies and series but they leaved games out of it.
    Unfortunately, now they go to game turfs also. It started with that Uncharted expansion The lost legacy, that was so, so, but in this game it's clear what they wanted. Male heroes gone and introducing female characters and LGBT agenda. Nothing more.
    Disgusting trend.
    I would think again when I would buy another Naughty dog game again.

Apart from its amazing and eye widening and Jaw Dropping graphics and Ok gameplay The Last of Us Part 2 is a failure at storytelling with everything getting worse and worse. Making you feel utterly empty at the end of the game with everyone practically losing everything and gaining barely anything at all. The Last of Us Part 2 also lied to us in its advertisement for example: Joel is seen and should’ve been alive during game is instead killed brutally and disrespectfully in front of Ellie and our eyes by an overly buff cartoonish woman named Abby who’s father, The doctor at the end of the first game, was killed by Joel who was just saving because who couldn’t lose another daughter and a second chance at being a father. This, apart the Ellie fight when your forced to play as Abby, was probably one the worst things I’ve had to watch and unfortunately play for the sake of this review. Abby although arguably the worst video game character ever created has little character and doesn’t look past her previous actions and the game forces you, for 10 HOURS, too like her this doesn’t work for a number of reasons. 1. She killed Joel brutally in front us, 2. Her backstory is shown way to late in the game which still doesn’t make me care about her in the slightest, and 3. Naughty Dog just makes here arc the same as Joel and Ellie’s arc in first game by having her take care of Lev a transgender boy who was assigned a girl at birth but wants to be identified as boy. Now before we go any further I do not hate trans or LGBTQ people not in the slightest and although this is one of reasons people who like this game believe it’s why people hate it this is not that this is just about what Abby and Lev do in the story. There relationship AS A WHOLE is just, again, Joel and Ellie’s story all over again with it being definitely not as good as the first. Speaking of which let’s go back to Joel for a minute here. Joel is seen in this game as a bad person because he doomed humanity of a vaccine however he did that because he didn’t want Ellie to die he loved to much and any parent would do the same thing If their child was being sacrificed whether they wanted to or not. Plus these immediately went to work on Ellie without giving Ellie a chance to think about saving humanity for a vaccine possibly worrying that if she said no then they probably would’ve forced her to do it anyway. This shows that The Fireflies aren’t what we thought they were they are not good people but really who is there is no good or bad in The Last of Us universe it’s just who’s side we take and which is better and one we are comfortable with. Here they make so that Joel and Ellie are bad people and Abby and her Father were good because they save animals their nice to everyone and whatever even though the game forces you to kill Abby’s dog who you are forced to play with and is also not enjoyable. Also I’m going actually defend those who played the game and didn’t finish it because here’s thing: why are we going to continue playing something that’s just gonna to continue to disappoint us like why would they do that? You could say that’s no excuse or because you can fully understand something if you don’t see the whole thing but this is understandable if you think about it it’s really up to you. Actually let’s now talk about Understanding because a lot of people who like this game say that people who don’t like or hate this game don’t understand but here’s the thing: Just because something is understood and explained doesn’t make it automatically good even if it makes them look dumb or something we still have a right to decide if it’s still bad. I understand the message they are trying to give but I hate that they used The Last of Us Universe and Characters to tell that message because you don’t go from a game that was about “Even in the worst times their is still a chance for hope and happiness.” To then make a sequel about how “Revenge doesn’t solve anything and everyone is horrible.” That’s not how that you should do that it should’ve been about forgiveness and not this overly forced narrative. In conclusion, The Last of Us Part 2 failed at giving us a story and Characters we waited 7 years for to only have be disliked, forgettable, and killed. I honestly hope this games story is remade even if it’s not what we mostly asked for id take anything this dumpster fire of a story.… Expand

    The story however is a complete disaster. Killing one of the most beloved characters from the first game in an awfully disrespectful way is just not the way to go. In general, the story seems to be more focused on achieving certain political goals than actually narrating things that are of common sense.

    The game also contains disturbing sex scenes, which, first of all, makes me uncomfortable, but moreover makes me confused, as they don't seem to serve much purpose towards enhancing the narrative or building characters.    … Expand

They completely destroy the characters and setting you loved, and try to shove down your throat horrible new characters that I not only don't care about but despise. But with all the review bombing that's bringing the score up Im trying to balance it out. This game was very disappointing with how they decided to go with the story. You only enjoy playing the first few hours until your beloved character gets killed by one of the characters you sill be forced to play as for the rest of the game. This game was an absolute piece of garbage despite it having a beautiful scenary and accessible gaming features. Had the story been properly written it would desserve a 10 in my books but as it is this game should have never been made and only serves to further other peoples political agenda. Don't buy this game unless you get it from a second person like ebay because it would be better to not give these arrogant jerks (cough cough neil druckman) any more of our moneh.… Expand

    This was a terrible, awful, and disgusting game. So bad I took it to my local gun club and all the members at the club shoot it to pieces with 20/12 gauges. The story is awful, the fandom is toxic waste, and the mechanics/performance are about as good as fallout 76

Making the fans play with a vilain that killed the character that people bought the game in the first place to see (using fake clips in the trailers to f**k with fans) all of this in attempt to see things from her perspective. Just so we can realize that she is indeed a **** person a cheat a psychopath who tortured the man for no reason. if she new why he had to kill her father. Shooting him in the head would've been enough and believable.. And on top of that making the segments played with her more thrilling and fan to play just so we like her. Honestly throughout the whole game I couldn't understand why the writer made a game it's whole point is to make ppl like a piece of **** psychopath. And what I found even more astonishing stupid people who actually did.

The most important part of the last of us, which is the story, is very poor this time. Empty characters, their decisions make no sense. Plot holes everywhere.

    Decent gameplay mechanics, but the story sucked so much that i was really disinterested for long parts of the game hoping it would somehow improve, which i doesn't. Really disappointed that i gave the game a shot despite the negative reviews.

    I gave it a 3 simply for the graphics and some different gameplay that I liked compared to the original. What kills this game is the story. If you have never played the first one, maybe you will like it. If you have, you will most likely hate it.     Poorly written and underdeveloped characters. Very bad story that makes no sense and feels useless at the end. Dog’s false advertising and lying to their fans.

    I have played this game and I was so disappointed, I played the first one too and I can say that the gameplay was indeed improved from the first one; but the writers just basically shat all over TLOU story by you know what happened on it, so it's the worst videogame ever and doesn't deserve a GOTY at all.

    Playing half the game as Abby, the person hunting Joel/Ellie, makes absolutely zero sense. We all paid $60 to play as Joel/Ellie and find a conclusion to their epic journey. I couldn’t have been more disappointed when we kept playing more and more and more with Abby. A terrible plot, horribly story, and overall giant disappointment. I give the first game a 9/10. Pinkie promise I’m not jumping on the bandwagon to be one of those people hating on the game even though they didn’t play it. I preordered this game December of last year, and I had the highest hopes for it. I loved the first game, with a deep, immovable passion, and like many others, I waited with hope for the sequel for seven long years. I had every faith in Naughty dog, that this would be the best game of the year. Through all the delays, and the controversy, my faith never wavered I didn’t look at the leaks, so I went into the game without any bias. And at first, I loved it. Joel’s death was shocking and horrible, but not unexpected. I cried about it, sure. But I thought there had to be a reason why they axed off one of the most beloved characters in any game ever. I loved playing as Ellie and running around Seattle with Dina. The little open world segment was fun, and the puzzles, while not overly complex or satisfying to solve, were at least different and had a little variety, improving on the first game. And the graphics, oh my god, They are brilliant. The combat was fun, very similar to the first game, You can go in guns blazing, or stick with stealth and try and slip on by I was really loving the game at this point, having fun, and looking to avenge Joel. But at the midpoint of the game, for some terrible reason, I’m forced to play Abby, the girl that murdered Joel. They kick you back to day one, as Abby. I have no idea what Naughty dog was thinking. I hated Abby for the most obvious reasons in the world. But I had to play as her for ten hours. Made even worse by her having no actual goals, and already knowing what is going to happen. They force you to play flashbacks within flashbacks to try and make you like her, but it was an impossible task. Abby’s section was boring and pointless, considering the women you spend half of Abby’s time trying to save just dies anyway. The only fun part was going in for bear hugs with clickers, running into fires, and leaping off cliffs. Even worse, the game forces you to beat the piss out of Ellie just to progress. I nearly set the controller down and walked away forever. I did not care about Abby. The game could never make me care for her, after seeing her kill Joel horribly and brutally. Please be aware that naughty dog lied in the marketing repeatedly, which was just a slimy, nasty thing to do to it’s consumers. But aside from the lies they told to sell copies, the game really talked down to the player. “Revenge is bad, murder is bad, how dare you kill that dog?” I enjoyed the first half, but it very quickly became a pretentious, depressing slog of a game that does not warrant more than one play through. It thinks it’s far more clever and deep than it is. So that’s my opinion on the game. It looked beautiful. The combat was fun at first, but quickly became repetitive. And the story was complete and utter trash. I really wish it had not been this way. the game looks absolutely amazing.… Expand

They must have had a bunch of ideas kicking around, and a bunch of stories they could have gone with, and THIS is what they chose. They tried to present a game that poignant and nuanced and brave, but what was delivered was a callous,I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed. This game had so much potential, the VA are amazing, the world was already good and most old characters are likeable, and wow... the music is amazing, but the story is a let down, a story about a revenge path and in the last second you forgive then wants to kill the person and then forgive again... is honestly bad writing, mostly because of the ending than the actually start point and middle point and playing as the antagonist is a amazing idea, but she is not likeable enough for that, only the kid saves her side of the story. Looking to the other side of the coin, one old character twists himself in a way that doesn't look natural, it looks so sudden how he is protective in the end and then later on wants Ellie to have revenge as well. Tommy and Ellie lacks what would make them more realistic in the end, a sudden change with almost no explanation, going to "I forgive you" to "I don't forgive you" too many times.… Expand
