    Perfect example of why you exclude political agendas from games. Ugly storyline with Far-left wing agendas shoved down your throat throughout. Completely destroyed TLOU series. Game actually takes away from TLOU Part 1. Highly recommend not getting this game.

    This game is a masterpiece. The graphics are the best of the entire generation and the detailed quality of the expressions emphasize the drama of the story. Joel's death helps us put ourselves in Elie's place. The fact that the other half of the game is with Abby totally changes what was expected, making us empathize with the "villain".     Just finished the game and it has to be one of the most boring games I've played. I didn't care about Ellie, her decisions were irrational and unjustified. I just wanted this evil monster (Ellie) to die that killed a pregnant woman on her revenge quest.

    Whereas in TLOU 1, I felt emotionally connected to the characters. It was a beautiful storytelling.

    I'm going to pretend TLOU2 never existed.

    I really wanted to like this game, but:
    I'm such disappointed. De-Installed the game, right after IT happened.

    There are also too many main characters, which feels a bit confusing.
    In the first part, there are "Ellie and Joel against the world". This was really good. But now..

    It has also quite similarities to the story and feeling of "the walking dead".
    First against zombies and the infection in general (good), then just against another (brutal) group and one of your favourite person died (not so good).

    I'm sorry, but in Germany we would say:

Огромноя проблема по-моему состоит в том, что разработчики обманули игроков, они сказали, что Джоэл жив, они показали ложный трейлер, а всё потому что игроки догадались раньше времени за это уже можно снимать у игры балла так 3. Но основная проблема не в этом, скажите мне почему нельзя было дать выбор в конце? Многие игры так делают, все вы были довольны можно было бы убить Эбби и нет. Этого не сделали, потому что хотели показать игроку куда приводит месть. Но концовка от этого бы не поменялось Элли бы всё равно осталась одна, некоторые скажут: "она не хотела становиться последней мразью",но я не вижу ничего плохого в том чтобы отомстить за любимого человека, если бы игроку дали выбор, я бы смело поставил 9 баллов… Expand

    Great graphics and sound.
    Gameplay is exactly the same as part 1, one of my favourite games of all time.
    The game seems to drag on forever, lasted me around 23 hours and it could perfectly be 10 hours shorter.
    Story is absolutely trash.
    Probably deserves a 6 but I'm giving it a 4 to compensate for the OBVIOUSLY paid reviews.

    The Last of Us Part 2 is not bad gameplay but the worst story performance, I wish I was playing the Game of the year's videogame but turns out it's the depression of the year. A lot of political correctness and abuse of the LGBTQ, even I have to show the empathy to respect those bad people who killed the main character during the mid-game, makes me wanna throw up.

    Let's talk about the gameplay experience: it's good as part 1 and crueler to the enemy and you may see a lot of insane dismemberment and head explosion if you headshot or blow them up. Interesting at exploring a half-open world map. There will be no supply shortage if you fully looted the map. And each enemy has their own name which is pretty cool, they will warn each other name if somebody gets killed. Then you need to know how to deal with those infected, if you've played part 1 before, it won't be too hard to fight them. And the last one is the workbench. they did pretty well on the animation of upgrading your weapon, I'll feel satisfied every time I upgrade my weapon.

    And that's all for the good part of this game, now we get to the most disgusting part of this disaster: the Storytelling. I'll try not to spoil it as much as possible, but the most favorite character just gets killed at the very beginning of the game, just because of a speechless reason, doesn't mean we have to play the villain in the game, get to know hers background also know why she had to kill him only to show sympathy. I only want her dead for revenge, but the Naughty Dog shows me that's impossible, that makes me wanna just quit this game only for that.

    Another reason that makes this game awful is the Character development. There's a lot of character in this game that you probably wouldn't get to know them better, then they'll die during the story, so what's the point of adding them into the story? making them suffer just to let the plot being extremely tense and exciting? I don't think that'll work. every time I'm seeing some unknown characters get shot or stabbed, I didn't even feel sad for them, because there's no point in mourning them if you never get to know who they are. Besides, I have to kill a pregnant woman in the game then I just felt guilty about it? To be honest, this is the first game that made me kill a pregnant woman, well then, there's any significance in adding a pregnant woman in the game for what? Woman empowerment? I mean this is not "Game of Thrones", and that's what Naughty Dog was doing. And they failed.

    So is this game worth playing? for gameplay: Maybe, wait till is on sale. But experience the story: Not recommended, it leaves a big gap between part 1, I would not say is the sequel, that'll be ashamed for it. I've played part 1 remastered when I got my ps4 and is clearly a masterpiece, makes me feel like I'm watching a touching and a real tear-jerker movie. Then jump into part 2, a muppet show, which is watching people killing each other and having some elements of feminism. I was fully anticipating part 2 gets releases but after all of this happening, all the things I had were the memories for part 1.    … Expand

It's entire purpose is to do what it's not supposed to and it's so irritating. I get what they were going for, and they did it well, but they needed to ask themselves "should we do this" and the answer is "NO". The very first line of text from Ellies mouth is "it was just a kiss" talking about a lesbian relationship. Instead of actual survival, it seems the entire purpose of this game is to virtue signal and shove political viewpoints down people's throats in the form of entertainment. None of the story actually makes sense. Characters die in the most ridiculous ways. It plays like an updated last of us, but the ending has to be the absolute worst ending of any game I've ever played. It leaves you angry. It doesn't leave you satisfied.

    The ending to this game... The entire story... It has to be the most forced and awful writing I have EVER witnessed... And it's such a shame because artistically, this game is probably one of the most jaw dropping and engaging games I've ever played... But when a cutscene is what makes you quit the game, not a bug or bs difficulty... But just sheer annoyance with the story... There's a MAJOR problem.     En su apartado técnico y visual, se trata de un producto con gráficos increíbles y buenas mecánicas de juego, PERO, en detrimento de la calificación del mismo, se trata de una historia muy superficial, con un final tremendamente malísimo, pero sobre todo decepcionante para los fans del juego anterior. A título personal, solo se lo recomiendo a los que no sean fans de TLOU I.

God this game :c sense I was a child I loved the last of us great game never really got to buy it but I watched the same gameplay several times and it was the best, I was so exited when I say that part 2 coming out but... Because of this game it hurts my heart to hear the name the last of us. Now the gameplay is great really sticks to the gameplay of the first game but with new stuff plus the Amazing gráfics and world. But the thing that I loved the most was the story. And thus game ruined it. They killed one of the most beloved video games character and one of my favourites (also tortured him) and Ellie really changed a lot and I guess it's trying to show us that people change and there's nothing to do about it but killing Joel and The end with Ellie:'c I hated the story so much that at the end I am not lying u cried because I really hated it not only that if you wanna finish the game you have to play as the girl who killed Joel WHY poor Ellie this game really Opened a whole in my heart.
    I will miss Joel so much and hearing that the last of us is gonna get a series just makes me want to cry cause I don't feel like I want to hear anything about this game after part 2 (sorry for bad English)    … Expand

I wish I could forget about this story and save my humble imagination about what could happened. Total crap and piece of shame represented through lgbt. It just don't have any idea except promotion of strong girls. Through all game there no more fear of zombie apocalypse, it is clear that people can handle with decease, no willing to survive in difficult circumstances, just one stupid revenge inherited from another even more stupider revenge and all story ended without any purpose or just a little logic. Not shown why Ellie gone for it, but shown why she shouldn't. Not shown what she had reached, but shown that she lost everything for granting enemy a life. What happened with Ellie? She had just turned from strong person to silly boy in moment or just tired to hide her apathy to Joel? And what about another "protagonist"? A murder and a moral monster turned into saint because what. First time she put up about dozen of people, and when they all die it became not so really personal to hit back. Such poor stupid script. Just a comic to all silly men (by the way all man characters are rather died or made disabled) how lesbian woman are strong (by the way survived only lesbians). Okay you are great, maybe, but please make a bold mark on the game "don't buy, if you care". I feel shame not for sex orientation of main characters, but for stupidness of all picture, it's just empty, also as my even slightest expectations of any kind interesting story. People that keep saying “this game is realistic” “Joel and tommy has softened” or “joel killed Abbys father.” Purposely love to forget that Joel was to left a family on the side of the road behind to save his own family so what sense does it make for him and tommy to immediately save Abby in the middle of a bunch of infected risking their own lives almost? She should’ve died right there and only there, Joel and tommy both survived multiple occasions separated or together for 20 damn years and are basically survival experts next to ellie who Joel taught how to swim, and not to be trusting with others and you can see that when she refused to give her name to David. If they had softened they wouldn’t forget automatically their survival instincts they’ve learned for 20 years and had rested 5 years still going on searches out for infected and resources you don’t just forget stuff like that! Last but not least **** abbys dad, Abby is nothing but a oc off a badly written fanfiction and her dAd was willing to kill ellie without permission all for a cure that wouldn’t even work? After 7 yrs waiting for two of the most heartfelt characters in gaming to be reunited I was buoyed my the trailers and immediately pre ordered the VIP package. The original game left me in tears numerous times it was so beautiful. Watching two broken people come to life through each other was simply magic. That mixed with incredible acting, gameplay, writing, and graphics 10/10

    What they have done with the story in the second is criminal. You not only took the heart from the game, you did it with a sneer. You make your team labor and create some of the best graphics I have ever seen in a game. Astounding work. The acting again is incredible. But having read Neil Drukman's own comments, it appears you wanted to make a statement. A woke statement.

    You killed, no tortured the main character. I love Ellie. But Ellie without Joel is a 95 woman in an apocalypse fighting well trained fighters twice her weight. Not too mention infected. Realism that was so good in the original... gone. With Joel there as a team, Ellie was believable. She had some great bow skills etc. Joel and his love for Elie and vice versa is truly what made the game edgy as well as human. And you did it, it seems to be woke. Then you advertised the game in a way that made it look like Joel would be there. You lied to the fans that pretty much worshiped you for creating such a masterpiece. For creating something beautiful.

    And of course, Most of the strong characters you fight against are woman. Supplements are big in the future I guess? Abbey is built like an mma fighter.

    Then you make the grieving player, yes most of , the fans that actually still played the game, you made us play as Joel's killer. (The only good thing is that I spent way too much time getting her killed and loving it. )

    I could go on, but the STORY is literally revenge porn. That is it. No matter how hard you try, you can not like Abbey. And the ending you give is like one of those unsatisfying videos .

    If you loved the last of us. and I absolutely did. DO NOT PLAY THIS. Forget it ever happened. Try and imagine Joel and Ellie etc living their lives out in happiness. Don't give these liars any more money.
    For the record I am just one person, but I buy around 10-15 games a year. Usually preorder. But those days are done. I will be going to Youtube reviews etc This is on naughty dogs for lying and turning an absolute diamond into a lump of woke coal .    … Expand

    The game is mediocre. It's not bad, it's not good. It hides behind social commentary to make itself seems better than it is. The low rating was given to offset the paid reviews that Naughty Dog bought. Be better.

Naughty Dog apparently had a meeting after that and said "We are now super successful...how can we ruin that?" The answer? Kill off the main character that everyone liked and replace him with a woke propaganda piece. At one point, I was waiting for the zombies to announce that they identify as aliens and for the the game to move to a space station. Why? Why not.     It's beautiful but that's all, clearly the game is far too long for what it says, we literally spend several hours moving forward without learning anything, the events of the scenario take place in such a null way, the message that wants to make the game look as mundane as possible. Clearly this game just took advantage of the desert that was 2020 in terms of video game releases

    Gameplay is fun, however the constant bombardment of propaganda and the attempt of mental manipulation to strengthen the believes of misinformation regarding WW2 and the Holocaust among other things, seriously overrides the fun factor. The first game is great! No propaganda in the first game, excluding the DLC.

You want to open a drawer and get that stuff inside... but no, first she has to put her gun down, then she needs to step back, so you can see inside the drawer... and yeah then you can finally grab that stuff - the gitar moments and control feel like they were added afterwards - so much more little pieces, which make the game overall inconsistent

    I feel like the press gave this game the best ratings in advance just because of the name and studio.
    And it feels like every real rating, is pushed away from the press with the comment, oh they didn't like the LGBT content, they didn't like it politacally... F*** no, I dont care about this. This game was expected to be the best of the best, but IT IS NOT and the so impartial press pushs the disappointment of this game back, and make the few political reviews feel like they are the only that matters.

    "Abby is GOOD, and Ellie is BAD." You wasted 20 hours of my life trying to convince me and you know for a fact not everybody can agree on that idea. I'm rating this game a 2/10 and I know you probably don't deserve it. Now we are even.

    Bad story aside, the game itself has major flaws in terms of game design. We play Ellie for good 10 hours and then you give a new character with ZERO progress (no weapon upgrade, items, whatsoever) and we have to continue from there until almost the end of the game. The game has over 200 collectibles but disappointingly NONE of them matters to the actual gameplay. All these are bad game designs which are commonly found in games 10-15 years ago.    … Expand

    I hated Abby from the beginning, then when Naughty Dog made me play as someone I don't like, the hate simply raised so when the "revenge is bad" ending happened it really ruined this game. Warning everyone I know not to play this dissapointing game. 2 points because the gameplay is fun and graphics amazing, but without the great story in between this game is absolutely not worth playing if you have already played the first game and cares anything about the characters from that game.    … Expand

    i missed the feeling of emptyness just like the first one, and i dont see joel's decision would've made me hate him the world took everything from him so he took everything from the world and i dont care about abby, her father, her crew and lev.
    And story is all missed up i was the whole time saying "what the hell is going on?" Like when ellie killed owen and mel who helped yara, ellie killed owen the guy who's close to abby's heart after her father?? And lev killed his own mother the one who's close to anybody in this world's heart even if she used to shout at you. He killed her and told abby to let Ellie go like she didnt do anything.

Just know that if you liked the first game you most likely will not like the second one. It $hits on every old character for the purpose of making new characters look good.

    Mein Rat für jeden, der das erste Teil sehr liebt wie ich: NIEMALS DIESES SPIEL KAUFEN.
    Ich hab es leider getan und nach 30 Stunden (wo ungefähr 10 Stunden voll unnötig und uninteressant waren) hab ich nur eine sehr bittere Enttäuschung bekommen.
    Joel war für mich 50% des Spiels. Nachdem dieser Monster voller Steroiden Abby ihn getötet hat, hatte ich gar kein Bock mehr weiterzuzocken. Auch Ellie hat man verändert. In erstem Teil war sie eine kleine, coole Nervensäge, die immer Joel ausgelacht hat und deswegen mochte ich sie. Aber in zweitem Teil hat sie ihn einfach gehasst und wie ein Stück von Scheiße behandelt. Stellt euch vor, sie war für ihn wie seine Tochter Sarah, er hat mehrere Menschen getötet, alles was er konnte getan, damit sie überlebt und dann hasst die ihn einfach. DAS. IST. DUMM. Das hat mir sehr weh getan. Dafür kann ich auch -30% abziehen. Und restliche 20% für unnötige, dumme Story mit Abby und Scars, Und ich rede jetzt nicht wie sehr in diesem Spiel Männer als Lappen und Hurensöhne dargestellt werden, wie Absurd die ganze Geschichte mit langweiligen, uninteressanten Nebencharakteren ist und wie die versucht haben, dass ich am Ende noch irgendwas für Abby und diesen/diese Lev empfinde. Man kann die beide mit Joel und Ellie niemals vergleichen.
    Ich kann so stundenlang aufzählen, wie schlecht das Spiel ist, aber ich hab einfach dafür kein Bock.

Naughty dog decided to go with this narrative and it’s up to them it’s their game. But It just did not work for me. I’m far left and I hated this game I didn’t even think about lesbians or Abby being muscular or any of those things. I just disliked this game because of the story and characters being uninteresting or broken. And that matters because the last of us 2 is a story driven game. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

    If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
