Wow.. How we were let down. Yes, the visuals are spectacular, but I bought a game, not a diorama. Not here, it's a just a chaotic shooter with Star wars sounds. We played the open beta thinking this was a taste of a much larger game. No, that was it. We all paid A grade price for one third of a game. The weapons are not configurable, you cannot form squads. There is nothing to do with space in this edition of Battlefront. DICE even invested time in creating a "diorama" feature to demonstrate skill but grants you nothing but a 3d model to look at. No perks, no benefits, no new weapons upon achieving said mastery. You can play as a hero, which is extremely over-weighted in the game, and have seen players get 96-0 K/D which doesn't sound like balanced game play to me. All the guns shoot very similar and in most cases can behave like sniper rifles but with different damage ratings at longer ranges. What's most offensive is that EA expect you to pay for a season pass that is the same price of a whole new game and all we get are duplicated maps, and no new mechanics. We got 17 maps in 2005 and a good range of vehicles. Finally the vehicles are pretty limited for rebels, and the empire has the classic AT-ST and AT-AT walkers. The rebels get speeder bikes which by the way are virtually un-usable except for straight line transport. EA really botched it. Ironically the companies who have nothing to do with Star Wars made a game that was nothing short of an insult to Battlefront fans. Had EA properly consulted with LucasArts and built Battlefront with the players in mind (and not just profits) they could have produced a game that would have eclipsed them all. But it was not to be... My advice, AVOID there is better out there for you... Expand

Well, Star Wars Battlefront has one of the best graphics, but I don't think it's that worth it for $60 considering that there is NO CAMPAIGN! What a rip-off! What a rip-off! The trailer looks so awesome and the graphics look like you're actually taking place in the battle, but EA has a history of making awesome game trailers like Battlefield 4. Battlefield 4's trailer includes your team charging in and jumping off a collapsing building, but the game itself isn't that impressive. If you don't have PlayStation Plus, you might as well as not buy this because PS Plus is required to play this. Without multiplayer, which is the reason why you should play it, you're only limited to THREE choices: Tutorial, Battles, and Survival, while you have over 15 maps of a maximum of 40 people in multiplayer. If you want a game with a campaign, I do NOT recommend it because it doesn't have one! EA is charging so much! If it wasn't for its immersive and beautiful graphics, I would rate this game a 2. My advice is that you get it on sale or on a bundle with the PS4 at Fry's Electronics because you can buy the Star Wars Battlefront game included with a PS4 bundle for about $250 if it is on sale. a shocking example of how to disappoint an avid fan base. take all the great areas of the original battlefront games; spontaneously grabbing an x-wing; flying between space ships with nothing but stars among you; and rip those fantastic star wars moments from the code and models that exist in this exquisite rendition of a failure.

My KD is 3.37. Any way the game is brilliant and have never been so addicted to caring about KD since MW2. Overall the game is great in every way but more content is needed to give this game more variation. Better Customisation is also a must. Expand

Star Wars Battlefront is great. The graphics are immense, sound is top notch and the gameplay is incredibly smooth. There is a wealth of game modes and maps and every battle seems fresh and different. But what is perhaps the best thing about the game is the people that play it. Half of them are as bad as me and that makes it fun. EA have been adding more content over the months sinceStar Wars Battlefront is great. But what is perhaps the best thing about the game is the people that play it. Half of them are as bad as me and that makes it fun. EA have been adding more content over the months since launch and the initial price tag has now been fully justified.

The lack of weapon customisation and small gains obtained from upgrading star cards I see as overall very positive because it ensures the most hardcore gamers don't get big advantages over those who don't have so much to play. It maintains some level of balance, keeps matches close and engaging. The hero power ups enable even the worst players to get a load of kills and top the table at the end of the match. The training and single player missions are a very good way to practice before jumping into the online matches and I am very glad they are there.

Overall Star Wars Battlefront is one of the best games I have ever played and receives a well deserved 9/10 from me. This is a game I can see myself playing for a long time to come. I can't wait for the DLC!

Good graphics, but no story or campaign mode present at all.
Battlefront gets boring way too quickly, and cost too much for a simple arcade shooter seemingly created in a minimal amount of time. It's great to play for a couple of hours, however the few types of multiplayer gameplay become boring, with not enough weapons to unlock.
Just another EA game; designed to make money and not

NO NO NO....HOW COULD EA HAVE DONE THIS????????? The lack of content is so painfully bad i want to cry. At launch this game had about 3 and a half hours of new experiences ( im saying experiences because there is absolutely no campaign or worth while story mode. yes that means galactic conquest too) Since then they have added a new gamemode and a handful of maps for online multiplayer. but that still does not make up for the complete lack of any single player content. Yes there is survival mode. but it is so half A@@ed that it is more like a tutorial that you should do before actually getting into the main game. my point is you need other people playing with you in order to have any fun at all in this game. It is heartbreaking, so much so that ive went back to bf2 just to see what this game could have been. yeah its pretty, but whats the point in looking good if theres no personality to go with it??? The character customization is literally a bunch of different faces, about 7 overall, with about 3 different hair cuts. that is until you get to rank 40 and 50, then you get a few unique characters. that and the guns. there could have been so much more variety than the 10 guns you unlock through the game. so from here on out we will finish off with pros and cons. with pros first.....

    pros..
~Graphics are AMAZING. AND I MEAN AMAZING
    ~Gameplay is fun and balanced.
~Sounds and effects are on par with the movies.
~You get the ability to choose the map you would like to play on, the game searches for sessions taking place on the map you choose.
~Air battles are fun. but you will get the other half of this in the cons section
~Free maps and gamemodes have and will continue to be added into the game.
    ~the game is addicting.

    Cons...
~WHERE IS THE REST OF THIS GAME???
~THE EXPANSION PASS COSTS FIFTY FREAKING DOLLARS ARE YOU KIDDING ME????
    ~BAREBONES CHARACTER CUSTOMIZATION
~NO SPACE BATTLES.... THIS IS STAR WARS EA..........STAR WARS... STAR..AS IN SPACE....
~WHERE IS GALACTIC CONQUEST??? WHERE IS EVERYTHING THAT MAKES A STAR WARS GAME A STAR WARS GAME???
and on that note.......im done. i dont recommend buying this game until it goes on sale. wait for a bundle. so that when you buy it, you are buying the complete game. because in its current state, it is unfinished. dont make the same mistake i did and spend 120 dollars on the "ultimate super awesome spaceman edition". it isnt worth it as of now. I rate it a 5 out of 10...

EA has offered a product that appeals to a wide range of fan bases. The graphics are the brightest points that the game offers, while the lack of a story mode limits the experience. The very limited offering of weapons and modes drags the game down as does the lack of weapon damage drop off. Overall the game looks far better than it plays, and the mechanics get old too fast.

    7) Heroes absolutely dominate and make playing frustrating.
    8) If you pre-ordered, you got a poster and paid $60. Had you waited 2 weeks, it would have only been $40. Oh that was only for 1/2 the game. You were required to spend another $60 for the DLC. Which the DLC has been pretty pathetic.

Overall conclusion: Don't waste your money. Friendly tip, get a free month of GameFly and try it out. You will be bored of it within the free trial period.

I knew this would happen the moment it was announced that EA would be releasing a Battlefield game.

Negatives (which there are many), limited maps, very limited characters, limited game modes, Season Pass (that costs as much as the game itself) that does not tell you what you will actually be getting!

The controls of the fighters are terrible and not having any space battles in a star wars battlefront game is practically sacrilege!

Its these types of business practices that earn EA a ton of money but also the scorn and hate of every gamer.

I get that EA needed to get Battlefront out of the door in time for the the force awaken's but releasing a game in such a limited state only hurts the franchise as a whole but we all know that EA will have made a solid chunk of cash from all the kids wanting to play a Star Wars game after seeing the movie.

Well done EA for taking advantage of children and shame on you for putting out such a limited game!

Yea this isnt that, not even close. and if i had got this while it was half price i would of most likely punished myself in some of the most creatives ways.... this i wont go into, but to give you a lowdown of the pros and cons.

    Pros.
Its Star Wars... pretty self explanatory really
A lot of game modes - ranges from normal TDM to objective based modes.
Hero feature is fun, although i cant help think this will role into a "pay for different heroes" in the future.
Has the base Battlefield feel to maneuvering weapon selection.

    Cons.

No VOIP or anyway to communicate to your team other then pointless emotes. when your playing with anohter 19 players you want to be able to call that absolute crank on your team..well an absolute crank! very frustrating.
If you are lucky enough to have a friend, dont get to happy about the partner system because halfway through the round battlefront will decide your partner, the only other person in you PSN party isn't sufficient, at which point it will give you some random partner, who due to Con 1 you cant communicate with.
Fighter Squadron - what an idea, Tie Fighters Vs X Wings.....sounds cool right? it is, if your the x WIng or A Wing, this mode is ridiculously imbalanced, and i dont use ridiculously lightly, if your losing games as the rebels you probally shouldnt be playing games full stop.
Appearance-- Well, if your a rebel and your playing in the Endor map, worry not your pretty much invisible, vice versa if your imperial on a snow map, blend right into well everything.
Latency - Well i have had 0 issues with any other game online, including The Diversion Beta - worked fine, Battlefront thoo.. Jesus server are a joke!
Download v Disc - i have the game installed directly to the PS4 hard drive, my friend was silly enough to buy it full price as a disc, turns out if you spent the extra £30.00 on the disc your game loads twice as fast, with baffles me.

All in all its a broken game, the audacity that they are already pushing expansions on a product they rushed out to coincide with the mass marketing of The Force Awakens. such a shame.

If you took away the Star Wars setting, the nostalgia, the music you have a very generic shooter. I played this game far too long hoping I was missing something but this really is a crummy game. Cons:
    - Hitboxes, they are HORRIBLE, you will be behind cover, not an inch of you poking out, yet a blaster bolt kills you by flying half a foot away from you
    - Heroes/Villans, they are extremely unbalanced, Rebs get two with Blasters that that can just strike from afar, the only good Villain is Boba Fett, but most people suck as him, they act like a regular Stormtrooper with him (in this game you gotta use him as a SNiper to be effective). Oh sure, Palpatine can heal other Villains...... but only *30* Health while Leia heals herself and heroes to *100*. Then you have Luke running around dodging blasters while Vader is tanking, but when he gets constantly hit, it drains his health, killing him.
    - Loadouts
    - Blasters, horribly, HORRIBLY, designed, and they get worse with every update, you get two Machinegun like blasters (forgot what that kind of blaster is called) almost when you start out, so you have level 5 people mowing you down in a hallway due to spray and pray, the EE-3 for regs is a POS, but the DL-44.... OP, OP, OP, I catch people SNIPING with it EFFECTIVELY! A Sniper Pistol! Then in CQC, two shots you die, literally, the first shots takes away 50 health, unless it;s upper torso, then 75, and head = dead unlike EVERY other weapon except the shotty.
    - Star Cards, horrible idea to begin with
    - No real Sniping (Star Cards Half-A** it)
    - Blast Radius, you see this tiny little explosion, yet you die from it being 15 yards away like it landed at your feet wtf
    - Dog Fights, unbalanced, Rebs have better tech then the Imps (lore-breaking)
    - Walker Assualt, HAHAHAHAHAHA Good Luck winning as the Empire, it's easy for the Rebs to win on the first two Stations since they just keep getting more and more Y-Wings as they hold them, the Imps have to take BOTH to get rid of the Y-Wings, one isn't good enough, plus the Rebs can attack the AT-ATs on their own when the attack commences, including with Starfighter pickups and Snowspeeders with tow-cables
    - Endor, I get it, it's famous, but the Rebels get camo where they can blend in almost 100% fine, while the Empire sticks out like a yellow pimple on the tip of your nose
    - Matchmaking is Horrible, worse than most Battlefield games (and I LOVE those games)
    - Team mates seem to have missing brain cells half the time, all they do is Rush head on, sometimes not even firing
    - Spawns are Horrid, there are about two or three spots on each map your team can spawn at, so it's easy to get Spawn Trapped
    - DeSync, De-synchronization, basically the worst lag, in some games it will always kill you, just play or watch ARMA, this happens a lot in this game, even if you have perfect Internet Connection
    - Can get stuck trying to run across a Small rock and can't mantle over even simple objects
    - Many, MANY more....

    Pros:
    - Star Wars
    - It's Canon and Says Boba Lives
    - Good Graphics
    - Trolls your friends by telling them it's awesome, and laugh as they just wasted $60 (con if your that friend)
    - Your character reacts to nearby explosions and shots landing

Yes ok it's a cash grab with the dlc and the base game is over priced, if you can pick it up cheap go for it as at it's core its a decent shooter. Don't just jump on the band wagon of hating EA they still make good games (just do some research before paying full price and pre ordering DLC)

I had a great deception with this one. No story mode is a big fail for a star wars game. Just the same mistake as Titan Fall. This game unfortunately is not worth of my money.

First I have the main complain that everyone else, where is the campaign mode ? Sure the guys from EA will tell you that there is some solo content, but honestly its almost nothing a surviving mode limited to 15 waves and some tutorials, that's no where near what the first Battlefront offered with an actual campaign that takes you to a lot of different locations with a little story etc... The interest of the game is purely online and like all the online-only FPS I saw on console there is not sufficient content (weapons, characters, vehicules, maps and modes) to justify a full retail price in my eyes. But let's be clear on one point there is no less content in Battlefront that there was in Evolve, Plants VS Zombies or Titanfall, they are all lacking content in my eyes.

Now lets talk about the best thing in the game : the technical side. The sound is amazingly nostalgic, the graphics are gorgeous and after 45 hours of gameplay (the time it took me to reach the level cap) there's almost no bug since the launch of the game.

Gameplay wise the game is a pretty classic FPS except for the Heroes and Villains that change the setting with a gameplay closer to MOBAs, every mode has its for and cons and you'll probably find something that suits you the best, unfortunately there is some balancing problems, you'll most likely never see the imperials win a Fighter Squadron match, Boba Fett is really annoying with his jet pack that allows him to flee too easily, etc...

All in all Battlefront is a fun multi-player game, that suffers from the classical lack of content curse of multi-player-only games and from balancing problems, but the gorgeous looks, MOBAs mechanics and large scale battles maintain the game on the good side of video games. Advisable for Star Wars fan if you find it on sale.

It focuses on rebels trying to bring down walkers and the empire defending them. Player customization is a nice way to keep the game fresh, you can choose your blaster and 3 "Star Cards" that can give you things like a jet pack or sniper rifle but then extremely cheap things like a homing missile that can become frustrating. I do wish they added more Star Cards, some feel totally useless and don't add much to the game. Customization for your character is extremely overpriced,Minimule and only unlocked once you have experienced most of the game. It's awesome hearing your blaster going Pew Pew but I do wish they explained upon them more, after awhile you just use the same gun. Battlefront also has a co-op game-mode where you and 1 friend can work through waves of enimes in the most original idea for a game since Candy Crush.
Battlefront is extremely fun in small bursts and captures the Star Wars universe very well but I feel like there was lots of wasted potential here. It could have been so much more of a game and if you compare this to the Canceled Battlefront 3 or even 2 (for the PS2)it feels like a lot is missing. Unless you want to buy all the DLC with the game 165$ later....

I'm probably not even going to play the DLC because there's no way they are going to put effort in this if they didn't on the actual game. Calling the season pass a "season pass" and saying it will come out soon is misleading and saying that the game is "battlefront" is misleading. The game mechanics are ridiculous too, ex.. when your in 3rd person mode you'll find yourself crouched next to a wall and will hit the wall when shooting instead of it shooting from your Reticle, spending 2 minutes trying to find "the right angled slope" to put a turret down when there's no indicator, trying to walk up a slope and being unable to and then walking up the same angled slope next to it... etc etc 3 pages later. I actually take the time and effort to see if something is an EA product now because it feels so much like a scam. The graphics are great and it has 2 hours of game play but the fact that they mislead so much using the game name "battlefront" and have no elements of it in the game, not even conquest gives this rating an auto 0. :( Expand

Star Wars Battlefront is fun, but is plagued with too many issues for me to really recommend it to most people. But first off, I have to give credit where credit is due. The graphics are gorgeous, and the sound is good too (aside from the voice acting, of course). It really immerses you into the Star Wars universe. Game play is enjoyable, but far from perfect. Lightsaber fights are a huge letdown - take turns smacking each other until one of you dies, or catch the other player off guard, not letting them land a single hit on you, or even turn around for that matter. The shooting isn't bad, though. The game's online mode consists of nine game modes, (Ten with the free DLC) but I only really enjoy three or four. Anyone I've asked said it was the same way for them, so you'll most likely choose an handful of favourites and disregard the rest. The single player on the other hand, is an absolute joke. It'll last you maybe an hour or two before you leave it forever. The worst part, however, is the DLC. The 50 dollar season pass is advertised on the main menu, and a bunch of new maps and heroes are promised, essentially making this a $110 USD or $130 CAD game. This is ridiculous on it's own, but a sequel is reportedly already in development, meaning EA couldn't care less about actually creating the content people have already paid money for.

The game is fun. I want to really enjoy it and play it consistently, but in it's current state, it's a bit of a train wreck. A recent update did fix some issues and added more free content, so EA must be trying something new. I'm happy to bump the score up to a 7 instead of a 6 because of that.

It’s been just more than 10 years since the last Star Wars Battlefront title released for the Playstation 2 and Xbox, and fans have been waiting ages to jump back into the shoes of Rebel or Imperial scum.

Electronic Arts and DICE have answered the call, and the end result is absolutely stunning. 2015’s Battlefront focuses on the original trilogy of films, pulling characters, weapons and vistas from Episodes IV, V and VI. And that’s the first thing players will notice, that this game is very much set in the Star Wars universe.

The game modes are unique and each offer a specific challenge, but there isn’t much variety. Aside from objective-based modes like “Droid Run,” where players escort a Gonk Droid from one place to another, or “Walker Assault,” where the goal is to defend an AT-AT or take it down, most of everything else is kill or be killed.

There’s Blast, the Battlefront take on traditional team death-match: Supremacy, an all-out war mode that tasks players with pushing the other team off the planet, and Fighter Squadron, which is essentially death-match in the air, exclusively.

Also present are Hero-centric gametypes like “Heroes vs. Villains,” which is a six-on-six round-based mode where players assume the role of iconic Star Wars characters.

And heroes is where the game shines best. Play as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Darth Vader or Boba Fett. If that sounds like a small number of choices, that’s because it is. 2005’s Battlefront II had 23 heroes and villains. Here is where the new game finds its faults.

There’s an overall lack of content here. The number of weapons and gear is in the tens and customization options are tied to face changes. But hey, EA has a $50 season pass ready for you to buy.

Downloadable content isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but when it looks like three-fourths of a game’s content has been removed to sell back later, there’s a problem. This season pass will contain four additional hero characters, 16 multiplayer maps and countless gear and guns.

But it’s OK. Battlefront is a beautiful title with tight, natural gameplay and it’s a whole lot of fun. Nothing beats Force-choking as Vader, or leaping through the treehouses of Endor as Luke Skywalker with 20 Rebel soldiers charging into battle with you.

Flying an X-wing is exhilarating and taking down a Walker with a tow cable is 10 tons of awesome. But for the future, EA should look to Battlefront as a platform, not a sequel machine. Take cues from Activision’s Destiny, a fully formed title that has released expansions over the past year.

Let’s face it, Star Wars fans. Battlefront is the Star Wars game we want, but it doesn’t have all of the content it needs right now.

Star Wars Battlefront has few flaws but like with so many other titles out there refuses to exceed beyond the very basic traceable template you've made. This 'reboot' does nothing but repeat the exact same mechanics and properties of, surprise surprise, a Battlefield game. Actually now that I mention it this game has more in common with COD (activision) then a Battlefield game. It's repetitive and gets boring fast.
Look here EA if you're going to buy your way into a big franchise like Star Wars and say you're going to reboot a beloved video game franchise... well then bloody try. The closest this game gets to Battlefront material is by looking and sounding like Star Wars. That's about it. EA have accomplished what thousands of indie developers starting out with a game engine for the first time could have done. For that I am truly disappointed.
For the people that find enjoyment out of this game: good for you I'm glad. I don't find it hard to believe that someone can love this game but for the facts which they are using to defend this game are appalling. "This game is meant for MP players", "You need to level up more in order to gain enjoyment out of this game" well then excuse me and thousands of other people who assumed that the game would follow in its predecessors footsteps by including a legit single player campaign, some form of big scale single player battle mode and an easy and fun leveling up system. The joy of the previous Battlefront games were from the fact that everyone was equal with the same equipment so everyone stood a chance. Now I spawn next to someone who is above level 20 and I haven't made it passed 5 because I keep getting killed. Everything I wanted in this game that was in the others were torn out and replaced by nice graphics. Yesterday I played Tales of Zestrilia and that game proves that you don't need to have fancy graphics to make a game enjoyable. Hell the predecessors are still fun now with early stage PS2 graphics.
Final words: 10/10 people- get out of your pit of denial and look at this game compared to a) it's predecessors b) any other game. It is massively disappointing and will never, not matter how much free DLC they throw in my face, will progress passed 5/10. Developers- delete that stupid template you have and think of something new that doesn't involve a rinse and repeat formula. The free DLC is a step in the right direction but it's a small one. Focus on your games first then move passed that.

Battlefronts greatest thrills all occur within a few hours of playing. Once you get over the initial 'I'm in Star Wars' little things begin to pick apart at your overall enjoyment of the game. While it does look stunning and 'like the movies', having a server full (Gods willing) of helmet less, jet packing, pistol shooters does damage this image. Furthermore, who really cares if it looks like the movies, I'd rather take the characters and soldiers and take them to new and exciting battlefronts (pun intended). Much time was wasted to recreate scenes from the movie, which are picturesque but ultimately limited the maps available. As of current, the amount of content does not justify a $60 (US) price tag. While many players seem to enjoy it, unfortunately it does not have the enjoyment or depth of the previous Battlefronts and is unfit to claim to be its successor. It shares very little in common with it and really seems like a pathetic rip-off. I think I might just skip Battlefront 4 & 5 and get into Battlefront 6 to save myself some heartache. Just as people argue that Return of the Jedi is the worst in the trilogy, the Battlefront EA will suffer the fate.

The current content is bland and uninspired, despite the rich design of predecessors. While it has its pros, the cons stick out glaringly as amateur mistakes considering DICE's pedigree. The reason it is so hated is purely because it lacks content, depth and had so much potential. The inclusion of emotes is a waste of animation time that could have been spent on campaign mode or something to occupy the interns, either way a waste of players controller space. The cancelled Battlefront had space battles and land battles that connected and was exactly what people wanted and had asked for numerous times. I feel that the current backlash is from a community that has lost patience over a long period of time. Battlefront 2 had both Clone Wars and Galactic Wars; also Space and Land battles. Battlefront 3 has Galactic war land battles. In ten to fifteen years time, I would expect Battlefront 7 to finally have space and land battles across all three trilogies.

    1. No campaign/story mode/Galactic conquests. SWBF1 and 2 have it. It's not great, but it's there.

    2. Lacking in Single Player content. Not much you can do with Single player. Repetitive. You don't even have the 40+ AI big battles like you do with the previous games.

    3. Only 5 planets(maps). Really? Even SWBF 1 has 15+

    4. No prequels. It's fun to play as clonetroopers/battledroids. Of course, maps too.

    5. No classes. In SWBF1, you can play as scout troop, rebel pilot... Here, just infantry.

    6. No vehicles. Seriouly. What? Unless you play specific modes, otherwise, the regular battle is just on foot. Even SWBF1, you can hop on ATSTs, X-wings, speeders... in just regular maps! And no Tauntauns in Hoth?

    7. Less heroes. Only 6? 10+ heroes in SWBF2. The controls are better too.

    8. No 3rd army. In SWBF1, you have Ewoks, Gungans, Wookies, Jawas, Sandpeople... Even Rancor!

    9. No 40+ AI game modes.

    10. No Command posts. I think that's just a good game mode, should have included it.

    11. The higher ground. You will be begging for the jetpack to recharge constantly. You jump, you fall back down. So bloody annoying. Then, you wait for probably 30 seconds before you can try again.

    12. My matching sucks **** The server is dead, only 5% for the Jakku map? Only 20% for the regular battles. I want to play a full room with 40+ players. My experience anyway.

Not to mention, overly overpriced. I mean, come on... Is that all you can offer. Here are the good sides though.

    1. Awesome graphics. 10/10. Spectacular. Amazing.

    2. Great sound effects. The voice acting is a bit weird. Han Solo says Things I can do for that princess. So cheesy... Damn.

    3. Air battles are cool, but no space battles. I think the targeting system is a splendid idea, but the controls are not as great.

    4. Multiplayers are good. Walker Assault mode, Supremacy mode... Why not have them in the Single Player?

    5. Sweet cutscenes. But what happened to the story????

All I can think of. So how can it possibly get 7+? Either because you are not honest! Or you have not played the previous games. Play them and then you will realised how lazy this one is.

I mean if you want to be lazy, you might as well just re-skin SWBF2, so at least we get the great gameplay with better graphics. Simple as that. Then add the Ep 7 stuff as DLC.

I've played over 60 hours of this game and after the first 25 hours I didn't have too many grievances outside of EA's bad business plan. However the next 25 hours proved that the more I played it the more complaints I had about the gameplay.

    Positives:
+ Graphically the game looks fantastic and feels smooth. If any game deserves a optimisation and graphics award for 2015 its DICE for Battlefront. Very few frame dips below 60 even on console and very few(if any) glitches or bugs. Game feels like you're stepping into the Star Wars Universe.

+ Card System. While many criticise the card system compared to DICE's usual secondary weapons/ class modes I find it creates a better battle and more chaos which is always fun. Only having to wait for a grenade to refill is a lot better than having to wonder around looking for an ammo bag or someone who drops an ammo bag and shooting at them to try and communicate the face you need ammo.

+ Turning Point, Supremecy and Walker Assault. The 3 best modes in the game are massive and chaotic exactly what you'd expect from Star Wars battles. I do wish that had added conquest to these as well.

+ Fighter Squadron and Air vehicles. I do think they really nailed the controls for the air vehicles. I could never get the hang of the controls for the jets in battlefield and didnt think I would enjoy Fighter Squadron. How wrong I was. The controls, the speed and the open area of air space makes it easy to take flight in one of the vehicles.

+ Heroes and Villians, Playing as both heroes and villians is awesome. Each hero has their own ability set which are useful in certain game modes if you use them right. There is the game mode Heroes v Villians which really makes being the hero more challenging than getting a power up in regular games.

    Negatives:
    - Lack of maps and depth. Yep like everyone else I really hate that it was rushed out before the film to take advantage of the hype of the film. You can see it in the lack of maps, weapons, game modes and single player. If they had waited another 6 months they would have had a good solid game that wouldnt have everyone frothing at the mouth because of the disappointment. And then to charge $50 for a season pass is beyond ridiculous.

    - Game is too casual. I get that they wanted it to have an arcadic feel like the old games but I was hoping for a bit more of a competitive edge. Killing from afar is ridiculously easy even with a weapon that doesnt have a great distance rating, theres no bullet drop and zero recoil. Also there is Aim Assist to really show it casualness.

    - Imbalance between Empire and Rebels. Theres no consistency in balance in the game modes. Some maps and game modes its better to be the rebels and others its better to be the empire. In Walker Assault the empire have AT-ATs and AT-STs while the rebels have nothing. In Endor the empire only has only AT-AT, have camouflaged gear making them hard to see and some of the objective points are in really advantaged defence points.

    - Bobba Fett is ridiculously overpowered. He can fly in the air for an almost unlimited amount of time, has powerful main weapon and targeted torpedo secondary weapon. Hes really hard to hit and he can easily hit you. The hero ships in fighter squadron are ridiculously overpowered as well. It takes a huge amount of shots and time to shoot down either Slave I or Millennium Falcon.

    - DICE still have not been able to fix the collider issues with Frostbite 3. So many times I'd be trying to jump over a small rock or bit of debris and would get stuck. And these are small colliders where if it was in reality a small little jump would be enough to clear it.

    - Air Vehicles slow down. I really don't know why they decided to include this but when you pul back on the left analog when flying an air vehicle you can slow it right down. This means you're practically in the one spot and are able to turn 180 degrees without problem so you can continue to track a ship when they try to evade you. However this means that the ship is never able to evade you making the basic maneuvers absolutely pointless and makes the Fighter Squadron mode far too easy.

Overall its a good shooter but falls flat due to its own bad publisher plan and by going the casual route. A lot of changes will need to be made in any future sequels to win back many fans.

Also people complain about it not having more advanced features that modern shooters often have, but I personally think that it reduces the ridiculous amount of overpowering force an advanced player can bring to bear against someone new to the game. Someone at level 50 can be brought down by a new player if the new player knows what they are doing.

Some games are imbalanced which is why I gave it a 9, but on the other had I admire the tenacity which the system keeps you with the players you have been playing with through multiple games to bring about a sense of team...

The Star Wars wave was peaking, so they grabbed their boogie boards and enjoyed the ride.

There is no meat to the game. People only give it a pass because it is Star Wars. This is not a $60 game. Not at all. Maybe $30. At most. Only because of the graphics and sound.

The game removes any feeling of usefulness. You feel like the random Stormtroopers in the films who get shot before they pull the trigger. Then you magically respawn and do the same thing. In other games, you feel like you at least do SOMETHING for your team. You may be the worst on it, but you still feel like you did something. Here? Not a thing. You feel like a plastic bag used for target practice.

They removed Space Battles because why not, and made it become part of the regular battles. Dumb move. The maps are too big for land troops to get anywhere, and because of ridiculous logic, you get shot with a pistol across the map. But they are also too small for ships. You can't go 8 seconds in one direction before you are out of bounds. And the controls....OH MY LORD THE CONTROLS. You can't control them for piss, and if an enemy comes up behind you, you're done. You can't retaliate. If they get behind you, the controls do not allow you to even attempt to swing around and retaliate.

The "game" has nothing there. There is nothing but a few modes, "which arent that great", and thats it. No story, no campaign, no singleplayer, and the price for this, plus dlc is insane. I can't believe they thought releasing this piece of garbage was alright.

They wanted to create big battles, yet they filled it with npcs. Meanwhile games like Planetside have 1200 people on a giant single map. The technology exists, but you gotta put in some effort. It's obvious EA doesn't care about making decent games, and only care about money and money from dlc with as little effort as possible. Oh, and any gane that you pay $60 for, pay for dlc, and still slaps on microtransactions is absolute garbage.

But this is only the paint job that hides a very shallow FPS: 1. All Weapons feel like they do the same amount of damage, even with the automatic blasters they feel more accurate than what the stats has you believe. Even Han Solo's blaster is the best weapon unlocked at the last stage of the game, and it's the most overpowered weapon in the game, with stats that remind me of the FAMAS from Black Ops 1. 2. Vehicles are few in number and are sometimes useless, ships are useless on some maps, and you could do more kamikazes in these ships than actually trying to shoot enemies. 3. Most of the cards are overlooked in favor for only a few cards such as the jump pack and grenades. 4. Heroes and Villains are way too overpowered, and unlike the last two games, there is no limit for how long you can play them, so until death you can go on crazy kill streaks and there is no satisfaction of earning these pick ups, unless you happen to be the last person that hit them and collect the hero drop. 5. There is only a few modes that are fun like Walker Assault and Supremacy. The rest are generic and not worth your time if you're a fan of Battlefront like I am. 6. No story mode, but plenty of disappointing cut scenes in survival that reminds me of what the story could've been. 7. Customization is shallow and a huge disappointment. 8. EA have sold less than half a game at full price then want that amount again for you to have anything close to a full one, so suck it EA, way to ruin one of the most anticipated moments in next gen history.

What did we all love about battlefront 1 and 2? (TEN YEARS AGO!) the ability to command a few troops to batter some rebels? or to navigate a huge map like geonosis and having to tactically choose spawn locations? having ENOUGH space to fly my fighters? being able to play as clones and droids? And of course having an awesome campaign where you take over the galaxy and destroy all in your path?...this is what we loved, but what EA heard was:
'how about scrap ALL of that, make the maps tiny, vehicles pointless, ditch that story mode, and sh*t all over the expectations of eager fans after a decade of waiting/hoping for us to make this thing great, and then sh*t on them again by making half the game a stupidly priced DLC!'

Excited for months for the release date to then be disappointed. Can't fathom the format of this game. It's more call of duty. I did only the side missions and hero battles. Enjoyable at first then boring. Can't believe you have to pay to play the full story modes. I did the 48trial and as its all online I quickly got bored.
Very disappointed. Disgusting that you have to pay further too.

Previous battlefronts I've spent weeks enjoying them, this is a fantastic flop in my opinion apart from the visuals and even then I've seen vader look more accurate in previous games.

No space battles? Generic maps and OP heroes to slash your throat. You need DLC for additive experience, what the f*ck, EA? No story mode, bs matchmaking, bad controls.
Pro tip: Since it looks good, you can just use it a screensaver.

    Pros:

The visuals are absolutely stunning. You literally feel like you're in the Star Wars universe and is easily one of the best looking games ever made as far this generation goes. The sounds are also spot-on, aside from the voice acting. Like stated, you feel like you are a playing on the Star Wars universe and it just is so beautiful to see and to hear.

The heroes are plenty fun to play as. Luke, Vader, Han, Boba, Lea & The Emperor all play differently and you can succeed with any of them during the field of battle.

    Cons:

Basically everything else. The game feels so unfinished, especially in comparison to the other Battlefronts. Where is the single-player campaign? Where is Galactic Conquest? Where is Space Battles in a freaking Star Wars game? Where are the prequel units? Why is Star Wars Episode VII not getting represented at all?

Where the hell is the rest of the game?

You have so few modes that you will quickly grow bored and just play online, which doesn't help much, if at all, due to extreme balance issues between sides (Rebels dominate Air Combat, Empire dominate Ground Combat) and the horrendous spawning system. The air flight controls are awkward to use and the overall flight feeling just doesn't feel natural and the vehicles are far less important here, which is a shame because they used to be such fun in the other Battlefront games.

Most of the other modes are barely worth mentioning due to their balance issues (Walker Assault) or just dumb design choices (Hero Hunt) and them having only 4 maps is not helping their case either.

And the less i say about EA's $50 Dollar DLC Season Pass, the better.

Every novelty about the game will soon wear off due to it's incredible lack of replay ability due to the loss of a campaign mode and worthwhile offline modes and the online mode won't suffice either due to the severe lack of maps and the horrible balancing issues.

This one of the most disappointing games released in this generation of consoles and probably of all time. Thanks a lot, Electronic Arts. You have just ruined yet another treasured franchise.

In supremacy, it is absolute madness outdoing the ground war mode of call of duty. Almost everything in this beats call of duty as a first person shooter, maps are huge, vehicles are more useable. Very easy to see that this game is developed by the same guys as battlefield but just fantastic

No weapons are blatantly more over powered and remarks that it is dominated by those who play a lot more is rubbish, you may get killed a few times and they will pop up top of the leaderboard but there's plenty of chances to get your own back.

The complaint of the DLC is also ridiculous, I'm not buying it because I don't have too! The game is good enough as it is, the complaint is just people being petty and not playing the game as it should be played, a first person shooter with actual gameplay in mind.

Perfect for those who love their Star Wars and FPS's, best shooter of 2015 and best shooter of mine for years to come, mind this is very much my opinion and my wantings in a game, very multiplayer based but it's so good and diverse it washes away the lack of single player modes. I cannot see myself going back to Black Ops 3 for a long long time

I actually like the older version of this game better you know Star Wars: Battlefront 1 and 2 when it was on the PS2 but I guess I'll just chalk this one up as being another game that fell victim to EA trying to change an already good game into something new and fail

I am a mega star wars fan, I also love games, FPS inparticular, but this game sucks. Its simple, unlocks and customization is horrible, not enough maps, the gun selection is horrid. It was worth the purchase, having the extra money, for me to buy and play as a storm trooper a few times, maybe even again in the future, but its more of a nostalgia trip than a fun game.

However, what pieces there were from the old series that made the games so beloved were removed. The lack of a legitimate campaign mode is a big one as Star Wars: Battlefront II was on the verge of something with the story on the 501st. The beloved Galactic Conquest modes fails to make an appearance which is a big head scratcher. Finally, with no space battles or prequel era battles, this game leaves much to be desired and feels more like Battlefield than Star Wars Battlefront. While it was important for EA to make a unique reboot game, they did so too much and it feels they just made a game to cash in on the hype surrounding the new movie instead of legitimately trying to make a good game.

I'm not trying to review this by comparing it to Battlefront II, that would be stupid and I would have to rate it zero. I'm not trying to review this by comparing it to Battlefront II, that would be stupid and I would have to rate it zero. I already knew it wouldn't be nearly a shadow of what BFII was, but I wanted a casual shooter to play online since I don't have any and I refuse to play any Call of Duty game.

With that in mind, I must say my experience with this game was mixed. It ranged from incredible moments of intense gunplay to infuriating rage thanks to the retard matchmaking and the impossibility of playing with my friends. The game offer little content, certainly doesn't worth 60 bucks. But if you can get passed that you can still have some super casual fun, if you don't care about playing almost alone (only 1 "partner" allowed), and the unbalanced gameplay. And yes, it is unbalanced. I know it is casual but they managed to make a weapon in which you don't even have to aim, it kills in 1 shot, and can be combined with a perk that completely removes the cooldown. All that in a shooter. It is proof that DICE/EA don't take the game seriously.

    Positives:

    - Superb graphics. Seriously, this thing is pretty. Those forests and volcanic areas are jaw dropping;
    - Great map design for infantry modes, which is the ones I play the most. I've been a little disappointed with BF4 maps (after awesome BF3 maps). But in Battlefront they nailed it;
    - Dice really knows how to make the game sound vivid. The same intense sounds you've seen in Battlefield series;
    - Multiplayer is simple and can be fun if there isn't any jerk abusing OP weapons (which is rare).

    Negative
    - Worst content/cost ratio I've ever seen. No way this game has U$ 60 worth of content;
    - Unbalanced gameplay. Favors camping and non-skill players. There's no reason for you to play "fair", trying to have fun with your little laser gun, when everyone is using homing shot missiles in your face all the time. I could just do the same and use it but I refuse to. There's no fun in that. Fortunately I can still counter this homing shots and manage to perform nicely but I feel for people that doesn't;
    - Matchmaking is utterly broken. No server browser whatsoever and half of the time I have to wait for minutes to get into a match and the other half the game simply won't get me into any match at all. It just opens a new match with me and only me in it and no one else will fill the remaining slots. Until I give up playing a certain type of game;
    - The "space combat" is laughable. I've never seen something so underwhelming.

With some tweaking on the gameplay and the servers this game could even be a decent choice for the casual player. It still is damn expensive for the amount of content it offers. There is some fun buried deep into this game but it is just too broken right now. This of course, if you can get passed the fact this was never meant to be a sequel to Battlefront II.

The way the game looks, sounds, and runs is just beautiful. Battles go on at a smooth 60fps every time. But to be really honest with you all, that is the ONLY great thing the game has going for it.

The provided game modes feel fun during the first 2 hours of playing the game, but over time they just get boring. The Heroes Vs. Villains mode's main problem is that the entire game only provides you with 6 characters from each side: Rebels and Imperials. The people voicing the Hero and Villain characters? Pathetic imitations of the original actors. The only guys doing a good job are the guys voicing Han Solo and Luke.

Every battle just feels COMPLETELY simplified. A massive step backward from what Battlefront 2 achieved so many years ago. How simplified is it? To hop into an AT-ST or Snowspeeder, you need to find a little token located somewhere in the middle of the level. Same way goes for playing as Heroes and Villains during normal battles. There's also no more space battles. Once again, LACK of content.

The whole "Emote" system is completely useless. You'll probably only use them once or twice, and that's it. Customizing your own soldier is also a complete joke. You're only provided preset faces, and that's it.

I find it sad and infuriating how EA is just pushing all these games to come out and be sold to the public audience, without even thinking about wether or not the game feels like a polished and finished product. And the fact that they think selling us DLC or Season Passes can fix all the "lack of content" problems, infuriates me even more. The game looks drop-dead gorgeous, yes, but that's just it. No single player campaigns, a lack of fun and exciting multiplayer modes, and an extremely INSULTING price tag, makes this game a complete waste of hard earned money.

Normally I would be ok with people having their on views on a game, good or bad. But this time, I really want to urge EVERYONE reading this review: DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. This is NOT the Battlefront 3 anyone has expected to play, and it is NOT worth $60 to get.

I got this for my birthday. I was waiting all year to play this game. After I played the game for the first 3 hours, I kid you not, I dropped tears. I was expecting true BF3, not a simplified turd built for casuals.

To Electronic Arts: How dare you? You should be absolutely ASHAMED of yourselves. Releasing this piece of turd and naming it "Star Wars: Battlefront EA" makes me feel sick of calling you a game company. What ever happened to "Challenge Everything", eh?! Now, all you do is make the same old sports game every damn year, with the only difference being the added roster, and the game title! That's no challenge! Battlefield is a WONDERFUL game franchise, yet you constantly annoy us gamers with pre-order bonuses and paid DLC, all for the sake of more cash! When you and DICE first announced that you guys were going to release the new Battlefront, I was excited. "These are the guys behind Battlefield," I said. Immediately, I thought that you guys would make something like Battlefield, but with a Star Wars re-skin. Jump-in and Jump-out vehicles, Large scale battle locations, and absolute environmental destruction. What I got for my birthday was something WAAAAAYYY below Battlefield's standards! GOD DAMN YOU, ELECTRONIC ARTS. You are a DISGUSTING example of a game company, and I hope that this "reign of wealth and power" you're having right now ends VERY soon. I will never support you anymore, EA. You are filthy, greedy, and a complete embarrassment to the gaming industry. You, Activision & Konami are currently VERY high on my hate list. If you were a dead buried man, not only would I spit on your grave. I would spit, puke, and defecate on your grave, just to show how much of a FILTHY company you are.
Once again, GOD DAMN YOU ELECTRONIC ARTS.

The game isn't too bad but it doesn't offer much when compared to it's 2005 predecessor, the most maps it offers without the DLC is 4, compared to Battlefront 2 that had more than 12 maps, the only good game mode is the single player battles and the enemy AI is dumbed down to where a 5 year old could kill them no problem, the only thing that's holding this game up is the way it looks.

Graphics: the graphics are gorgeous, detailed, if i were reviewing games on graphics, the game would get a perfect score from me.

Sound: the game's sound makes you feel like you're on the battlefield 99.99% of the time.

Gameplay: the gameplay is decent to a certain extent, but after about 3 hours, you just get bored with it, the controls are ok, and to get a little knit picky here, you don't have to reload any of your guns.

Cons: the game is incredibly imbalanced, especially on walker assault where the empire has all kinds of weapons and the rebels have nothing, you may as well give the empire swords and give the rebels rocks.

I would recommend just renting this game for a weekend, or buying it and just playing it when you're bored or don't have anything better to do

This game lacks the content that it deserves.
I understand with previous games that DICE has created such as the battlefield series they are perfectly capable of making realistic action shooter games with a lot of great of great content and great experiences. But I'm not here to talk about battlefield... We're here to talk about Battlefront.
First of all the Server connection... Oh God... How horrible they are. I cant count the number of times where i take a good chunk of my game session to actually find a game, then to my luck or server location, only to find that yet again I have a bad connection (and keep in mind. I have a cable connection direct to my modem.)
Also the lack of content... I could go on for hours on how minimal the content in this game is. Instead of a good single player campaign or any campaign for that matter they replaced it with some sort of training mode along side the survival mode, which keep in mind. you have to play with a friend or by yourself.
There was SO SO much potential with this game, and i find it sad that EA had to ruin it... DICE, keep up the good work... EA... Go **** yourself

With the new film of the space opera saga finally on the big screen and the release of Battlefront's new sequel, both after a decade overdue, it is definitely the best time to be a Star Wars fan. The game itself is a dream-come-true for fans, and the Star Wars spectacle is strong in this one. However, if it is depth and longevity you seek... this is not the game you are looking for.
