Congratulations on completely **** up what could have been, or come close to being game of the year EA. Corporate greed has pulled the AAA companies in this industry away from developing games with a passion for the artful medium of entertainment they're supposed to be and replaced them with simple money generators. I hope you have a sense of pride and accomplishment releasing this load of trash to your customers.

Just a clarification too, the game itself is **** incredible. Genuinely near on par with the 2005 Battlefront 2. If( and a big IF) the game's progression system is moved away from a system based entirely on gambling (and essentially legal hacking), then I'd absolutely rate this a perfect 10/10. As is though, I wouldn't recommend this **** in a million years.

After one positive exception (Titanfall 2), EA is on downwards spiral and they deserve nothing more than being boycotted. Shame on you EA. Maybe we need another crash of industry.

It's a Pay-To-Win mobile game, for consoles and PC.

Daily cooldown on rewards for game modes.
    **** formulaic campaign.
    Pay-To-Win multiplayer.

Do yourself a favor, do literally anything else with your money.

Disney's biggest mistake was giving their most valuable franchise to a company like EA.

If they keep releasing games like this, Starwars is gonna lose its popularity amongst teenagers. No one is gonna buy a Starwars game with a half-ass campaign + a messed up multiplayer made by greedy executives.

Parents who are considering buying this game for your kids: Don't. It has what is essentially an in game gambling system modeled after slot machines and should be rated AO. The game forces you to pay for in game tokens with real money to then buy "loot boxes." These "loot boxes" then randomly drop in game weapons or abilities. The game is designed in such a way that it is impossible to progress without gambling on these boxes.

The problem is what it's very hard to get them without microtransactions, and if you buy them, you have a big advantage over some guy who wants to play without spending additional money.

But lootboxes in $60 game, which require about $2000 to unlock everything or over 150 DAYS of play time is BS.

This review is based on actually playing the game - and - has nothing to do with micro transactions.

I also like Star Wars, and found the Battlefront 1 to be pretty good at re-creating the feeling of being in the Star Wars universe.

The menus: are horrible to navigate. In the previous game, the classic Star Wars music would punch in the second you fired up the game and set the mood straight away, everything was very easy to navigate - and also looked really classy.

The maps: bland and "small" feeling. In BF1 the maps had real scale to them, everything felt huge, and again, nailed that sense of being in the SW universe.

The campaign: the most boring, uninspired, feels-like-it's-been-built-by-an-inexperienced-company, single player campaign I've ever played. The story is average, at best, but the actual gameplay is literally; walk (not run)... shoot... cutscene. It's soooo easy and "vanilla." It also feels very clunky; the way the characters squat and move is laughable.

Progression system: simply put... horrible and unrewarding.

The reason I'd give this a 3 is the sound. The sound is in a whole different league. The guns feel like you're shooting a cannon, and the overall, sound effects are phenomenal.

Verdict: a huge, huge, disappointment. A real misstep. I honestly have no idea what they were thinking.

If Im EA im out shoppin for new stuff cause they know the cash is on its way. It was a similar scene with ME4 but how many of you bought that, hmmm? Most of you. I didnt. I havent bought EA since inquisition and i even bought that second hand so ea wouldn't get the money. Why? Because anyone who isnt a lying scumbag has know for over a decade that THIS is how EA opperates and always will. So if everyone knows they are a garbage greedy game company, than how is EA still in business you might ask. The reason is simple and its likely the same reason that SWBF2 will sell millions of copies and make EA a ton of money. That reason? That ppl today are worthless d bags who want everyone ELSE to boycott to get the problem fixed. Somebody ELSE should return their pre order. Someone ELSE needs to teach EA to respect its customers. But "I" dont want to have to be bothered. This is why things are the way they are. EA might respond to a real boycott, but they arent going to fix squat cause 600 thousand keyboard warriors on reddit started sobbing. Want to know how im right? Because they "fixed" your "outrage" by cutting the price of hero's by 75%. But why isnt that a fix you ask? BECAUSE THEY CUT DOWN ON HOW MUCH CREDITS YOU CAN EARN BY PLAYING THE GAME BY, anyone want to guess how much? EXACTLY......... 75%. So for those weak in math. If your bills go down 75% at the same time your pay gets dropped 75% your in the EXACT same position. EA just did the rope a dope and TONS of ppl are falling for it. If you REALLY want this game like I do, your kinda screwed. BUT, for those who must get the game, buy it second hand in a week or 2. At least then EA wont get your money. But if you EVER buy a microtransaction of ANY kind, YOU....... are not PART, of the problem. You ARE, the problem and i dont care what your excuse is. They have season passes, pre orders, even pre orders for season passes. All that crap is designed. DEEEEE SIGNED!!!! TOTALLY designed to effect your brain in a similar way that gambling does so that you will GIVE THEM MORE MONEY THAN JUST THE COST OF BUYING THE GAME. Notice I didn't say it was designed to make gamers have fun. Because it isnt. All that junk is gaming cancer being targeted at morons and unsuspecting innocent children. If sales dont come ANYWHERE NEAR what EA is projecting they will panic because someone is going to roll for it and maybe, just maybe, they'll stop this sort of greedy disgusting practices. I'll wish in 1 hand, and crap in the other. Anyone care to guess which one of those scenarios is going to get filled first? Yup. Better wash my hands. EA...... making ubi-turd, or garba-soft if you prefer, look like a decent company by comparison. Expand

You had my money, EA, congratulations. I won't be buying another one of your games for as long as you view your customers with such disdain. Looks like I'll be playing the real Battlefront 2- the one that came out 12 years ago with all the features and more. Minus the predatory, F2P mobile features that have no place in a full priced game.

Not enough game here. Perhaps there's a great game behind the microtransactions, but I'll never see it. $2100 is what you'd have to pay for access to the full game. Unless you're a Russian oligarch this is not the game you're looking for.

No balance, no normal weapon behaivior, no fan, no balance, no content, no team work...

I disagree. This is a full priced "AAA" title. Not some free to play crap. The original purchase plus additional DLC isn't enough for these greedy companies?

Lootboxes are good only if you're the type of player that can stick with 1 game for a prolonged period of time. And by prolonged I mean full dedication, barring yourself from other games if you want to stay within the competition and fun factor of pay to win games.

I came on to SWB1 when it was 4 euros on the PlayStation store and I got destroyed all the time in the 50+ player matches.

I came on to SWB1 when it was 4 euros on the PlayStation store and I got destroyed all the time in the 50+ player matches. It wasn't fun realizing I showed up too late in the game. I'm a player that enjoys a vast library of games and plays different ones at a time. I'm looking forward to God of War 4, Hunter Showdown (free to play), and The Last of Us 2.

If I were to get SWBII there would be no way I would be able to keep up with the hardcore SWBII players. Loot boxes are for a specific type of player... And now that there's multiple games with pay to win walls, I'm going to be more hesitant with my purchases. I can't imagine having multiple games with loot boxes and actually completing them all to a 100%. There's no way I can purchase more than 1 pay to continue/pay 2 win game per year.

There's just too many awesome games coming out from Sony that aren't pay to win. If you're on the fence and looking forward to other games coming soon, don't buy Star Wars Battlefront 2.

In my honest opinion, the only good type of loot box is for skins and aesthetics. That's when the game is solid enough and the gameplay good enough.

Star Wars Battlefront II provides a greater ambition than the previous installment. It has powerful war scenes, a brand new single player mode, and shows a much more magnificent Star Wars Universe. But just like the Jedi should be ware of the dark side of the Force, this game also meets some similar situations, such as beleaguered microtransaction elements and character growth problems. The first 10 hours of this game is full of surprises; however, the further you play this game, the more disappointed you will get.
