    I don't think i need to explain why I give it a 0. But in short, the game locked many of the main characters at first and you need to grind to unlock them. Which is NOT a problem. The problem? You are capped the credit you can earn in order to unlock them by PLAYING THE GAME, which is, a proper way if you don't aware. EA, however see this as an "exploit" because without capping it willI don't think i need to explain why I give it a 0. But in short, the game locked many of the main characters at first and you need to grind to unlock them. Which is NOT a problem. The problem? You are capped the credit you can earn in order to unlock them by PLAYING THE GAME, which is, a proper way if you don't aware. EA, however see this as an "exploit" because without capping it will create an "unfair multiplayer environment" . But guess what, you are very much welcome, or should I say, strongly incentivize, to pay to unlock, because, well, that CAP to make multiplayer a fair playground is GONE if you PAY.

    To be honest, I sense this game is a trap when they say the expansion will be free. But hell I really didn't expect to see they make such an ugly PR stunt show on reddit.

    I always remind myself don't be a guy who's happy to see other suffer. But hell you have no idea how happy I am seeing EA failed big time like this.    … Expand

    Absolutely love this game! Everything from the sound to the gameplay is phe-no-mo-nwal. Many are complaining about the microtransactions and to them, I say, "Who cares about spending more money?" I love the satisfying feeling of spending money... with my mom's credit card

    I always try to give the benefit of the doubt, but there is so little to go off from here. This game is poor, its design is lackluster and its structure is insidious. I just can't help but think that they feel that they can just smack the "Star Wars" name onto this game and assume we will automatically 'buy in'.

    I stuck with this game for months only because I'm a fan of star Wars and really hoped that EA/Dice would get it together. They didn't.     What would have been an otherwise alright game, an improvement on the first but still not perfect, EA got greedy and in its quest to grab as much money as possible from fans of Star Wars and DICE's work they decided to ram a pay to win 'freemium' loot box economy into a full priced game, locking important content behind paywalls or lengthy unrewarding playtime, SHAME ON YOU EA!!

    Pay to win does not belong in a $60 video game. And then there's the glitches, and unfinished story (which isn't that great), and everything dealing with progression in the multiplayer is all wrong. There's no sense of accomplishment. EA treats you and I, the customer, like we're idiots that deserve to be taken advantage of and I can't support this practice.

    Decent multiplayer game but just an unacceptable use of Pay 2 Win mechanics. It's very disappointing that Dice put so much hard work into this game only to have EA ruin it with obvious gambling.

    A 60$ pay to win, loot box infested, money grabbing scam of a game. I do not recommend getting it. Take a stand against these practices by not buying this game. Vote with your wallets. You are better off buying the first iteration or avoiding the series entirely.

    I don't even care if the game is good or not, that's beside the point. When you scam someone with let's say the promise of getting a really nice car, I don't give a flying **** if the car is good or not. I give a **** that I'm being scammed to get the promised thing, whose real price is hidden behind a fake one. Imagine you're buying a car for 4000$, and then you realise the engine's busted, the tires are dead, and the exhaust is about to blow. Then the seller says "well, you gotta repair it son, it'll make you feel real good when you'll have repaired it youself, you'll feel committed to it." You'd call him a scammer, call the cops and have him arrested for false advertisement.

    Now when a game company, I'm sorry i meant Hell's Embassy on Earth, aka EA Games, sells you a full priced game, then says "okay son, you gotta play 40 hours of the game to get the full content you paid for, it'll make you feel real committed to it", what do you do? You can't call the cops, the system is rigged.

    But at least you can do something: tell everyone that EA is scammers and thieves, and tell them to NEVER EVER buy from them again. I don't condone piracy, being a game dev myself, but there is no way in hell a company like EA is ever getting a penny from me again.     Dont buy it, dont bother with it. The game is a unbalanced pile of crap that is purely designed to force players to spend money on the micro-transactions (when active again). Those who have during the games initial release will be nearly unstoppable against newer players.

Those who forked over real money got better cards right off the bat - cards that give you a blatant and unfair advantage. EA pulled the plug and you're no longer allowed to buy loot boxes, but in their wake they've left a progression system built around their money-grubbing scheme that's incredibly harsh and unfair to those who haven't paid for microtransactions (which is now everyone).

    I want to love this game, and I still have bouts of fun with it here and there, but I can't recommend you buy it. Once EA "fixes" the progression things might change, but I think the damage is already done. There's always Battlefront 2005...    … Expand

    Game modes combined with the maps are extremely linear, with the maps being straight compact corridors of doom with escort the payload missions, or larger open spaced corridors of doom in this games equivalent of battlefields “rush” game mode. Two objectives, move on, two objectives.

    There is absolutely no feeling of the original battlefront with the captures the flag game modes that allowed for a more organic game mode that could be and flow, making every game feel unique. With the combination of vehicle and ground troop warfare in a larger, more sandbox, game map.

    Infantry classes of assault, heavy, officer and sniper...are totally pointless.
    The only difference is in their abilities and weapon types which easily could have been all packaged into one generic soldier. No there is no engineer who repairs the vehicles (that you barely ever even see on the battlefield), there is no support who can drop ammo, because ammo is infinite! There is no medic or medic droids, because health can just regenerate! It’s a purely superficial thing designed for you to grind each classes star cards out to get you playing longer.

    These on rails, a symmetrical game maps and modes also lend to major imbalances. Where one side is going to win more than likely than the other due to the sheer advantage of choke points/enforcer types their faction offers. For example, the Empire have death troopers as enforcers which are ridiculously more viable than the rebels Wookiee’s. Their high rate of fire and damage output and health tanking can make it nigh on impossible for rebels to pass through choke points on maps like kessle as they can take on four or more guys on their own. Where as a Wookiee can be beaten in a 1v1 if they miss their first shot with their slow RoF bow caster

    Sometimes the monotony of the troop game modes can be broken up with heros vs villains, but after just four games of that you know the score. The teams clash, whoever wins that initial chaotic cluster of a fight pretty much wins the game, as they can now move as a group and continuously gank the one enemy who’s the target, rinse and repeat. While the other team will have been split up by the spawns.

    Star fighter game modes are also spectacularly bare bones. Which just resorts to the same tired tdm or
    Non varied objectives as the ground games...but in space!
    Boarding capital ships and fighting the the hanger bays to sabotage from the inside is gone.

    and thanks to the experience and unfair advantage of the star cards, you will be facing 7 levels of hell to fight that uphill battle of being a competent pilot. As other players will have better guns, health and abilities compared to you.

    It’s the same online missions and objectives over and over and over. After less than a days game time I feel I’ve played everything it has to offer. With not a single game mode standing out to me, they might as well all be tdm in this corridor shooter grenade spam fest.

    Then comes the March making, no server browser or customisation options whatsoever. So you will play the maps that the game decides. Sick of kessel ? Tough luck you’ll be playing it five games in a row.

The campaign was going very well until it decided to go all obvious butterflies and switch factions, I wanted so much to actually be part of an empire campaign. Even after completing the "first part" of it I was even more upset that it ended without a closing story (future DLC i bet). I hope Disney takes away EA gaming rights, because EA is slowly destroying what players love and want in a Star Wars game.… Expand

    It had so much potential. But most of it was messed up by EA. However, if you are a Star Wars fan its still fun to play. But to see how much potential lies in this game, and what COULD have been is too sad and disappointing.
    Shallow Gameplay, very few weapons, and stupid design of Levels (many bugs) and Heroes.
    At least the Graphics are great and the sound is also.

    Mediocre shooter game play and the story is just ok nothing special.
    I know the fee to win aspect as been removed at the moment but the fact that they are going to reintroduce them later does not sit well.
    A few glitches are there as well like getting temporarily stuck in portions of the map or on one occasion falling through the map but these can be easily fixed i hope in a patch.

    Delaying P2W strategy until later will not subside this terrible game mechanic. Nothing short of removing lootboxes completely will do anything for this smoldering garbage pile from EA. I suggest to not purchase this game nor any future games from EA until they remove microtransactions in a P2W style completely.

Мультиплеер стал игрой игрой "pay to win",что сегодня можно встретить разве что на телефоне,или в крайнем случае в РПГ.Самое обидное,что EA на E3 обещали совсем обратное,в прочем это иНаглядный пример того как отличный IP может загубить ужасно жадная до денег компания...В игре присутствует отличная графика и неплохой звук,к сожалению это всё чем игра может запомниться в хорошем цвете.     Beyond the greed system, the game is full of bugs that seem like easy fixes. I only got it cause i like flying spaceships, but even that isn't worth anything when one is glitch killed constantly. This game is not only ridiculously greedy, but so incredibly half-ass compared to the previous DICE project. It's sad that someone out there is proud of this game

    About Battlefront 2. How hard is it to take the original Battlefront 2 from 2005 give it the 2017 graphics and put in a new meanigful story in campaign mode? That's about it. That's what people want, no more no less.

    after joining a game with friends getting owned by a vader that was unkillable we all refunded what a load of garbage, only way to have fun is to spend extra money which is really stupid has I had already paid for the game

    We fought and we won not but not quite yet, microtransactions will be back. EA needs to understand that a no is a **** NO. All of this makes me sad cause battlefront is a good game but with this progression system and microtransactions coming back I'll not buy this.

    these loot crates are not funny at all.
    Even with tuned off transactions there are a lot of players with much better staff (like 1-2 epic cards) and this completely ruin the game, just can't imagine what will be in game when this transactions will be available. I can not recommend this game to someone else, because there is nothing to do without additional purchases.

    Star Wars Battlefront II provides a greater ambition than the previous installment. It has powerful war scenes, a brand new single player mode, and shows a much more magnificent Star Wars Universe. But just like the Jedi should be ware of the dark side of the Force, this game also meets some similar situations, such as beleaguered microtransaction elements and character growth problems. The first 10 hours of this game is full of surprises; however, the further you play this game, the more disappointed you will get.
