    For the first game EA promised to patch it all up and give us a decent campaign for free after an uproar from fans. Then they did all the same mistakes in this game, charged people more for leveling up, and created a sorry campaign /story mode for part 2 that is only about 3 hours long. 3 hours long?!?!!??!?     Unbelievable. I knew this game would have a negative response over the lootboxes, but I never thought thousands of people would give this game a 0 or 1 out of 10. I will play it, just to see what it’s like, despite the lootboxes
    However, I still hate EA. Closing down Visceral and mucking up with games like this one and FIFA.

    Я думаю многие не понимают всего масштаба трагедии, даже если лутбоксы не продавались бы за реал, а просто покупались бы за игровые кредиты, уже одно это полностью убивает весь баланс в игре, ведь лут в этих ящиках - РАНДОМНЫЙ, то есть мне пять раз в подряд могут выпасть эмоции, скины, и прочая дребедень, а кому то будет выпадать, усиленный урон, броня и тп - ТАК О КАКОМ БАЛАНСЕ можетЯ думаю многие не понимают всего масштаба трагедии, даже если лутбоксы не продавались бы за реал, а просто покупались бы за игровые кредиты, уже одно это полностью убивает весь баланс в игре, ведь лут в этих ящиках - РАНДОМНЫЙ, то есть мне пять раз в подряд могут выпасть эмоции, скины, и прочая дребедень, а кому то будет выпадать, усиленный урон, броня и тп - ТАК О КАКОМ БАЛАНСЕ может идти речь? Игре просто нужна обыкновенная система прогрессии - как в Батле.
    Более того, даже если ты решил задонатить за свои кровные, ты тоже будешь не знать что тебе выпадет, это игра в наперстки - то есть мошенничество чистой воды.
    Вывод один - наказание рублем, это единственное что спасет нас от дальнейшей, абсолютно мошеннической дойки в последующих играх от ВСЕХ издателей, если Батлфронт хорошо продастся.

    Great but short campaign and nice graphics. But progression's affected by the pay to win microtransactions, the multiplayer's just broken and lootboxe system's horrible. Bad experience with this game

    The story mode is bad the multiplayer is bad and of course the loot boxes are bad. The fact that a 60 dollar AAA game decided to have a free to play, pay to win service is absolutely ridiculous. Dice and EA came out and showed us how there was going to be a story and how they listened and how they should be commemorated for that. NO the first one should have had a campaign and this one should have a campaign double the length that it actually had. The story and dialogue of the campaign is extremely predictable and could have been written by a fifth grader. The MP aspect could have been fun. the foundation was laid out for this to be a fun game. But EA decided that they wanted billions of dollars so they added this terrible system for star cards. You know whats just great, I get to see every time I die how good of star cards the other person has. I will go into a fight where I clearly should have won but nope they bought the ultimate edition so I lost because of a dumb epic star card. And by the way why are people buying the ultimate edition, why are people even buying these games at all. When I hit confirm purchase I felt like I was commiting a crime. It felt like I was doing something evil by giving money to the mess that is EA. I would advise no one, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE to ever buy this game. I will not be buying another EA game until they stop being greedy bastards.    … Expand

    Thank you EA for the Microtransactions, I can’t recommend this game to anyone in the current state. This game disadvantages and discourages newcomers and casual gamers by rewarding those who purchase loot boxes and grind the multiplayer.

    This game has a basic campaign, a pay to win multiplayer, a crappy and greedy company behind, and so many whales wanting to try this glorified casino. Value productions are sky high just like similar games you can play on those proprietary Konami pachinko. 10/10, kids love gambling.

The whole eco-system of in game currency, even though majorly reduced after the reddit fiasco, is still totally unnecessary considering this is a AAA title with a full £60 price tag. Squads are loose, so you're never with the same people even during a match. The majority of the maps, or at least the objects, are in such a smallThe game's art is beautiful, but the gameplay comes down to a chaotic mess of grenade spam, unorganized play, unavoidable deaths, and a complete lack of teamwork encouragement outside of the officer role...which is very unrewarding to play as. Squads are loose, so you're never with the same people even during a match. The majority of the maps, or at least the objects, are in such a small arena style, that when you have a lot of players all smashed into one place, it's just a complete mess. Most people just throw themselves at the point hoping for the best and flooding back with respawns until the defense breaks. Almost everything revolves around that you and you alone are what's important in each battle, as opposed to promoting teamwork and squad play. There also appears to be very little anti-cheat, as I saw very blatant aimbots consistently. It's also has some bad gameplay decisions, such as the game resetting your chosen class every time you respawn, so you have to go out of your way to pick your class again or you spawn in as assault. I'd give it a 5 overall for gameplay. However, a few points lost over the requirement to continue to pay money just to progress (it's considered a requirement if you cannot earn those same rewards ingame WITHIN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME. Throwing in something that takes an unrealistic and nearly unobtainable...if not obtainable at all, amount of hours to unlock just so you can claim you don't "have" to pay...still means you have to pay...don't play the "well TECHNICALLY..." game, devs We live in the real world).

    Overall, the art is great. The special unit spawn is much better in BF2 than in BF1 (no longer based on pickups). The gameplay is very bland and uninspiring. There is little to no teamwork involved...and even if you want to work as a team, you're assigned to a new squad every respawn, so there's no consistency. I've literally been in matches where your objective is to run from point a to point b with an item. With the maps how small they are, you only have to run a very small distance, and the match is over within 2 to 3 minutes. Battlefront 2 often has you asking yourself, "What was the point in that?"

I loved Walker Assault in Star wars Battlefront I for its greatness, dramatic tension and scenario. No fun like in Droid run either. Here only depressive fighting without the great Force I was expecting.     I gave it a 1 due to the graphics being good, otherwise I would've looked for the minus 3 rating. The game is completely ruined by greed. I want to have fun and take part in what the game has to offer, but everything feels as if it's locked away behind payments. It all feels incomplete, rushed, and mediocre.

    I wont change score from my initial "0", which is in response to lotobox fiasco. That being said though... once you get a few decent star cards and are around level 12+ this game becomes genuinely quite good. It is unbalanced at times, but it does an amazing job at being a real star wars experience. In contrast to the first BF the classes here feel very different to    UDPATE on review:

    P2W aspects might still fully be in the game after they re-enable "the ability to purchase crystals in-game at a later date". People should NOT go out and buy the game just because of this statement by EA. A wait and see approach to the statement made is the best course of action at this time.

    Pros: Beautiful design, solid class system, a decent campaign (mediocre planning however).
    Cons: The worst progression system to grace the Star Wars universe, loot boxes are a joke, microtransactions encourages gambling, Arcade's rewards are limited to certain time frames, no way to enjoy game with friends, heroes from different eras messes with the time frame    Played for 17 hours.
    Pros: Beautiful design, solid class system, a decent campaign (mediocre planning however).

    Gameplay-wise this is a good and round package, the graphics are very good and the sound(expect some weird choices blaster-wise e.g. Leia's blaster sounds like a Tie-Fighter) is also on a very high level. Well what is really dragging down this otherwise very good game is the progression and loot crate system(no explanation needed, everyone knows about this) and the obviously unfinishedGameplay-wise this is a good and round package, the graphics are very good and the sound(expect some weird choices blaster-wise e.g. Leia's blaster sounds like a Tie-Fighter) is also on a very high level. Well what is really dragging down this otherwise very good game is the progression and loot crate system(no explanation needed, everyone knows about this) and the obviously unfinished Status of the game. Many things like offline capabilities(especially the very content lacking Arcade) and serious bugs, as well as a genereal lack of content(e.g. game modes, heroes, weapons and maps) and the short, open ended campaign really drag this score down. Change the progression and add the promised free content and this game can use it's huge potential.… Expand

The style and game play has always been there whether it be console or pc but with the modern era we are now treated to the visuals and graphics gamer's so richly deserve. Sadly what has happened is the role reversal of the the quality of the product. We are treated to aOh EA and Dice! SMH. i was quietly optimistic for Battlefront 2 to build on and improve the formula from Battlefront 1. The style and game play has always been there whether it be console or pc but with the modern era we are now treated to the visuals and graphics gamer's so richly deserve. Sadly what has happened is the role reversal of the the quality of the product. We are treated to a visual extravaganza which is stunning in 4k but there is a distinct lack in the game play. While the overall feel isn't bad it is ultimately let down by a poor single player story mode and the one thing that has one of the greatest appeals for this genre of game! The Star Wars characters. The grind is ridiculous and unless you are willing to part with lots more cash it'll take a punishing amount of time to unlock said characters.
    EA are shameless in they're feel the need to squeeze every drop of money out of their ever dwindling fan base. I for one have completely lost any appetite for their releases and returned my copy, getting a refund. its sad, what could of been one of their very few crowning glories falls flat by needless profiteering. I hope you are all happy with alienating gamer's with what could of been a world class game.

    The core mechanics of the game are decent at best and do not justify any of the garbage that EA has implemented in the game. Besides that the servers are trash so even if you were willing to look past Battle Fronts errors you wouldn't be able to fully enjoy the multiplayer experience as it would most likely be too laggy.

This game's loot boxes don't even compare to that in my opinion, but the **** AI in the campaign along with the lazy server quality makes this another No Man's Sky. However, the "live service" that was promised by EA and DICE has been nothing more than a joke... We have had nothing but small updates throughout the year with no heroes or large scale maps at all. Star Wars has not had such a portrayal in a game since the 1990's with TIE Fighter's Maarek Stele character. Instead what do we get? We get someone who defects less than halfway through the campaign and we spend the majority of the time doing a tired repeat of the old "Imperial repents and turns Rebel". That story has been done to death in other forms in the Star Wars franchise!

    We could have had a chance to see an Imperial struggling in the wake of the Rebellion's victory and the disintegration of the Empire, and maybe we could have gained some insight into how the First Order formed. We could have had a character winning battles even though the larger war is still lost.
    We didn't need a total Imperial fanatic, acting like the stereotyped 2-dimensional villain. TIE Fighter's Maarek Stele was an Imperial loyalist but was not blind to the faults of the Empire. He just ultimately thought that for all its faults it was still better than the alternative. In more recent stuff, we have the character Rae Sloane (which is actually referenced in the campaign), but Sloane actually stays loyal even though she disagreed with the Emperor's scorched earth plan (i.e. Operation Cinder), which is pretty clearly based off Hitler's "Nero Decree". We could have had a nuanced Imperial character. Instead we get the same juvenile depictions as if no sane non-fanatical person could possibly support the Empire, and the only "good Imperial" is a defector.

    Ultimately though I am angry because we were LIED to and given a bait and switch. We were told it would be an Imperial campaign to show the Imperai POV and to have some "Imperial heroes". Instead we got a Rebel campaign, which couldn't even keep its Imperial disguise on for very long.    … Expand

    Blast: Oh wow, Team Deathmatch, how original. Now with people one-shotting you across the map because they have rare and epic star cards on their Specialist class snipers.

    Heroes vs. Villains: Are you on the heroes team? Then you're going to lose because every single villains has crowd control abilities that can stun lock you. Oh and preorders got not one but TWO epic Kylo Ren cards which make his crowd control abilities nearly impossible to avoid. Heroes get dashes, sprints, a melee charge, and a smoke grenade. Vader can single handedly throw an entire team off a map. BALANCE!

    Strike: Mini version of Galactic Assault with fewer players. Attackers might have a chance to win if they're not stupid but one lone wolf can ruin the game for either side.

    Then there's the loot box RNG garbage. Straight up statistical advantages per card with no downsides completely designed around forcing players to shell out their credit cards. People with auto cooling weapons, faster firing, and quicker battle point generation just stomping all over anyone who hasn't gotten decent cards. See that guy over there on your team running in circles because he put rubber bands on his controller? He's going to get as many credits as you for playing despite doing nothing for the team but wasting space. He'll earn more credits than you if he was in the match longer than you were.

    This game is prettier than 2015's Battlefront but it's just as shallow and even MORE imbalanced - which is a feat given how pathetically balanced the modes were in THAT game. Do not buy this garbage, do not reward EA with your money. I wish I had bought COD WW2 at this rate. That might be scummy as well but it's not THIS scummy.    … Expand

    Horrible treatment of players, and removal by EA of MT’s is just a short term decision to calm their shareholders, and possible investigations by European gambling agencies. Once the controversy has passed, MT’s will be reintroduced probably not much difference than there are now, but there will be less splashback then.

    Star Wars Battlefront II provides a greater ambition than the previous installment. It has powerful war scenes, a brand new single player mode, and shows a much more magnificent Star Wars Universe. But just like the Jedi should be ware of the dark side of the Force, this game also meets some similar situations, such as beleaguered microtransaction elements and character growth problems. The first 10 hours of this game is full of surprises; however, the further you play this game, the more disappointed you will get.

    Although game has huge problems with p2w microtransactions, it is still a good and fun gameplay experience with stunning visuals.
