Resident Evil 3 doesn't deserve a 0/10 like some people are giving it. That being said this game was very disappointing. This game felt like a DLC to Resident Evil 2 rather than a full 60 dollar release. My chief complaint is the content in the game or lack thereof. 60 dollars for a 5 hour game with zero replay ability is unacceptable. Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil 2 remake set the series back in the right direction. They slowed down the gameplay and brought back the puzzle solving and inventory management without tank controls and smoother more satisfying action. Resident Evil 3 has pretty much no puzzles. The downtown section of the game is the closest the game comes to replicating Resident Evil 2. After that the entire game is pretty much on rails. Nemesis only appears for scripted linear chase sections or boss battles. I think we had an expectation that Nemesis would loom around as we tried to solve puzzles like Mr X. Instead he shows up at predictable times and doesn't bring much tension. I am fine with the character redesigns Jill is fine as **** Carlos looks kind of silly with his curly ass hair but its fine. The dialogue is cheesy but I like it. They try to inject more action and enemies into the game which doesn't work too well with the gun play. It worked better in Resident Evil 2 with less enemies but with more enemies to fight it is just a chore. They cut out significant chunks of the game too which is baffling to me. This game gives me PTSD flashbacks of Resident Evil 6 which cut out everything but linear action gayness. Pick this up for like 20 dollars or just play RE2 again. Expand

Well, its the same as re2make but worse in pretty much all aspects.

In many way it felt like a rushed game, and more like a dlc of re2 rather than a 60 dollars game.

Not a single freaking puzzle in the whole game.
Beating nemmy wasnt a challenge at all, Mr. X was way tougher to handle.
    Super Short.
No replayability, no costumes, no rank S+, no mercenaries.

The game is good but that's what makes it more disappointing. Lack of Puzzles and cut off areas which makes it feels that the game is rushed. The characters are very good but they changed some stuff that will make hardcore fans pissed of mainly because when you buy a re3 remake you probably imagine Jill in certain situations that just are not there.

. too much content is cut, the game is rushed and doesn't feel like a real Resident Evil game more like a bad copy. in a remake you must add stuff not cut, remaking a game from 1999 must be better in 2020.

It's hard to call Resident Evil 3 a remake, there's so much missing content it's more of a reimagining than a remake. Overall the game feels unfinished if you've played the original 1999 release of Resident Evil 3. Capcom set the standard for what a remake should be with the Resident Evil Remake release on GameCube back in 2002. A remake is supposed to recreate the original game and EXPAND on the story arcs and lore. Not remove it entirely! What's missing:

-No live selection system (which KILLS replayability). This was a huge feature of RE3 where you made your own choices throughout the game. Kind of like pick a path.
    -No clock tower section.
    -No Raccoon Park section.
    -No cemetery section.
    -No gravedigger worm battle.
-No dead factory section, so we have yet **another** secret underground umbrella lab. How trite.
-Nemesis sections often feel more like I'm watching a movie than playing a game. The fabulous Mr. X stalking mechanics from Resident Evil 2 Remake are NOT implemented here with Nemesis.
    -No spiders.
    -No freeze rounds.
    -Greatly reduced puzzle sections.
-*SPOILERS* No Barry flying the chopper in the end so it's like his character has been erased from the lore (speaking of the ending the nuclear bomb strike was completely watered down and utterly KILLED the emotional impact of seeing Raccoon City destroyed that the original game showcased. You were actually left feeling sad at the end of the original, but I just felt ripped off at the end of this so called "remake".

What they did actually include in the game I absolutely loved. The first hour of the game is fantastic although the mesmerizing FMV of the PlayStation original which showcases the zombies overrunning the city has been completely watered down and gives the zombie apocalypse far less impact. It has been replaced by a cheaply made and jarring live action movie using real actors. There's just too much ripped out of the original game for me to think this was a worthy effort. It feels like an extended DLC for RE2 Remake. Overall I'm disappointed at Capcom. The game feels like a rushed cash grab and is a heartbreaking missed opportunity to have created something really, really special with the new implementation of a live selection system especially.

But immediately after finishing Resident Evil 3 remake I went back in for collectibles. The shop in the game is probably one of the best parts about it. I am disappointed that there are not that many costumes in the game especially for Carlos. And it kills me to think that The Clocktower is just a prop in the background, and I do believe that this maybe should have just been a DLC Resident Evil 2 because of how short it is. And I don't think I'll ever find myself playing Resident Evil resistance, that doesn't mean that this game is awful it is extremely fun and I actually find myself wanting to replay it and get S ranks which I found it extremely difficult to do in Resident Evil 2 drive to do it. I heard a reviewer say that Resident Evil 2 is like a fine wine and Resident Evil 3 is like a margarita that is probably the best description that can be found to describe these two games. After the massive success of the Resident Evil 2 Remake which I covered last spring, Capcom was smart to continue with the RE remake cycle with Resident Evil 3. Incredible modern graphics and going with an over the shoulder style instead of the original third-person perspective will make new players feel as if this game was conceived and made for the first time in 2020 and not 1999. TheAfter the massive success of the Resident Evil 2 Remake which I covered last spring, Capcom was smart to continue with the RE remake cycle with Resident Evil 3. Incredible modern graphics and going with an over the shoulder style instead of the original third-person perspective will make new players feel as if this game was conceived and made for the first time in 2020 and not 1999. The gameplay is buttery smooth and if you have already played the Resident Evil 2 Remake your muscle memory should jump right in and take control without ever missing a beat.

This is so true that at times during the game you will feel like you are playing a DLC and not a completely different game. The re-use of assets from Resident Evil 2 will also make you feel this.

When you add a limited five-hour playtime that sense that you just paid Sixty Dollars for a DLC really starts to bark loudly at you.

Nemesis is constantly Lurking in Resident Evil 3

To be fair that is the only gripe I have with the Resident Evil 3 remake. I absolutely love everything else about it. The game was able to make this jaded old gamer jump in places and that is no short task.   One of the things that I use to differentiate a good game versus a bad game is how quickly I am drawn into it and how fast time seems to melt away while I play it. Resident Evil 3 had me looking at disbelief at my clock as it took me deep into surviving Raccoon City instantly and made me want to invest a disproportionate amount of time there.

Like Resident Evil 2 you will spend your time jumping between two protagonists Jill Valentine a member of S.T.A.R.S and Carlos a member of the Umbrella Corps who realizes that he might be working on the wrong side of the outbreak and assists Jill in trying to stop NEMESIS the genetically engineered super Weapon of the Umbrella Corp.

You have to slug, shoot, and dodge (Dodging in this game is the absolute key to survival. You will find yourself without ammo on a consistent basis if you do not master this skill!) your way out of Raccoon City. While doing so you will be constantly talked by the before mentioned NEMESIS who serves as the game's antagonist and absolute bullet sponge. Be prepared to be incredibly frustrated in any attempt to avoid him.

    Final Thoughts

Resident Evil 3 is a great game period. It looks amazing and plays amazing and will absolutely draw you in, the only shortcomings are that you are not allowed to stay for too long.

The game does come bundled with a new asymmetrical multiplayer mode called Resident Evil Resistance which is much like previous asymmetrical horror games I have reviewed like Friday the 13th and my person favorite Dead By Daylight. The multiplayer is beautifully executed by suffers from its own success. Essentially to many people want to play as the antagonists so if you are hoping to run around terrorizing people as nemesis expect a long frustrating wait...at least for the near future.

The majority of the budget has gone to that idiotic garbage multi-player game/mode called Project Resistance WHICH THEY FORCE ON YOU, they do not give you the option to buy Resident Evil 3 seperately, you have to pay for both of them even if you are not interested in one or the other. This is extremely anti-consumer, Capcom knows that nobody wants Project Resistance, that is why they don't give you a choice.
    2. There is ALOT of cut content compared to the original RE3 which was also short.
    3. CENSORSHIP, they censored Jills outfit and personality, they turned her into some angry feminist wahman who needs no man, yet she looks like a shemale, lmao, epic fail.

Jill is at her best here making her character feel more alive than ever and the same too Carlos their chemistry is sweet. The gameplay is exactly like RE2 remake but they’ve added a dodge mechanic which works pretty well in tough situations. Nemesis is a beast but I do wish he was as present as Mr X but at that the same time if Nemesis was as present he would pretty OP and would eventually become more annoying than terrifying but fell the times I did encounter him it was a blast. The final boss was slightly anticlimactic similar to RE7 but when I actually up the difficulty that’s when RE3 is at its best because the items are switched to different locations, zombies are faster, deadlier and Nemesis is just absolutely terrifying when the difficulty is on Nightmare mode or Inferno mode. Everything about the campaign was great I just wished it lasted 1 or 2 more hours but a 7 hour campaign didn’t really bother me as much as it did to some people, I’ve played many amazing games in the past that were just as long or shorter such as Inside, Mirrors Edge, Hellblade and. Uncharted Lost Legacy. Overall, I had a blast in RE3 story mode and I’m so glad I got to play this remake and play as my favourite character from the series again but Capcom maybe release a short single player DLC for RE3 , but overall I would give the story mode an 8.7 out of 10

    Multiplayer:

There’s not much to say about Resistance but I’m honestly enjoying it, me and my friends have been playing it for the past few days and it’s great fun and it’s nice from the mainstream multiplayer but I can imagine it slowly dying down in the future but for now I’m having fun with it and I’m not experiencing any issues with the game or bad teammates because I have a whole group of friends who know how to
Play it! But I’m sure it will die down soon and won’t get the same success as the horror multiplayer Dead by Daylight did. Overall, I give Resident Evil Resistance a 7 out of 10.

This game is every bit as good as its predecesser, except for one fatal flaw: its length.

They do a great job keeping the story moving, and no location overstays its welcome. The game is a joy to play from beginning to end, with a nice variety of gameplay elements to keep things interesting and fun. The game is best played on Hardcore, where the challenge and horror elements really get a chance to shine, and it helps slow the game down so you get more out of it.

The game looks just as stellar as the last one, but the music is slightly more of a classic RE style, which is welcome. Guns sound just as punchy and are still just as satisfying to use, especially when during some fun moments in the story.

All in all this is a must have for any Resident Evil fan, with the only downside being the craving for more after the credits roll. My only issue is the amount of cut content from the original game, maybe this was to help with pacing but it would have helped to pad out the game's length in some way.

I'm going to keep this really short. I do not at all think this game deserves the bad reviews it's gotten. The game is really short, yes. RE2 was friggin amazing. If I was active on metacritic last year I would give it a 9/10. However, with that said, I was really excited for this game. However, with that said, I was really excited for this game. One of my most anticipated games of 2020, and it falls on it's face on my expectations. Though I don't think this game is BAD per say. Just not nearly as good as RE2.
Truthfully, I haven't played the original RE games 1 through 5. But I understand the RE veterans being mad about this, I would be too if they f'd up Metal Gear 1 + 2 remakes from the NES era. So I understand.

In my opinion, RE3 was alright, though I agree it felt like a RE2 DLC. Nevertheless I had a good time with it. Like most I didn't bother with the multiplayer. It took me about 7 hours to complete the game, and that was with checking every knook and cranny in the game for ammo and healing items on hardcore difficulty. It wouldn't be fair of me to compare this to the original game, because it didn't play it, so nor shall I. My biggest gripe with this game was that the big baddy (Nemesis) doesn't feel as threatening as the RE2's Mr. X who could just burst through a door at any point, so you never felt safe. In this game, Nemesis encounters is scripted. Which was a big let down for me. Otherwise I thought the game was fine, entertaining enough, and the story was a little above average in my opinion. I might play this again to get my sweet platinum, but I'm not feeling the urge to play it again, like I did with RE2. If you haven't bought this game yet, I would wait for a sale, or borrow it from a friend. Like I said I wanted to keep this short, which I failed at, so to summarize in one sentence:

    It was aight.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. In the wake of Resident Evil 2's remake, I was actually pretty optimistic about this game, but not only does it not live up to the same standard, it seems like a ton of corners were cut and the game, unfortunately, was mostly a low-effort cash grab. Don't get me wrong, it's a very pretty game, and has great sound, but that's about where my praise ends.

Some of the basic complaints I have:

-Huge amount of cut content from the original

-Dead Factory (which was one of the best parts of the original imo) replaced by yet another generic lab setting, so they could re-use more assets from 2's remake.

-Knife no longer has durability, but also is nerfed to the point of near pointlessness, i.e. can't dismember zombies, does far less damage, etc.

-"Dead" zombies in the environment which are scripted to get up and come after you after whatever trigger point can't always be preemptively disposed of. In other words, you can shoot them, and they won't react, but will just activate after a story beat regardless. This never happened in 2.

-Absolute lack of puzzle elements. The closest thing we have in this are a couple of maze-like sections to find mcguffins. One of them full of infinitely respawning mobs that just endlessly harass you, and magically spawn right next to you when you're forced to interact with a story object that has a long interaction time.

-The boss battles are just awful. I can't even. Not difficult, but just boring. Playing ring-around-the-rosie with one boss who literally can't touch you as long as you just run tightly around the center of the boss arena waiting for him to do his mechanic so you can damage him is just... boring. It's not fun.

-JIll's characterization. She's not the down-to-earth Jill we all know anymore, no... now she's "updated" for a "modern audience," which basically means she's a needlessly snarky "womxn" who has to shoot down anything any man says to her. In other words, insufferably obnoxious.

-It really does seem just unfinished to the Nth degree. I have to wonder how much better it would have turned out if they hadn't attached their uninspired pet multiplayer project to it and instead used all of that budget toward the main game instead.

I can go on, but it's just not worth it. Buyer beware. If you're a megafan of the series, you may enjoy it for its novelty (or hate it for all the missed opportunities,) but even then, I'd wait until it was deeply discounted.

TL;DR: Don't pay full price. Capcom is back in the dog house for this atrocious remake.

I have FOND memories of being scared to death playing RE3: Nemesis on the original Playstation when I was younger. There's a reason why they dropped Nemesis' name from the title of the remake.

1 - so much content is taken out compared to the original game on PS. Remember how Raccoon City felt like an actual sprawling city? You had to explore Bars, Police garages, and alley ways in order to fetch keys and other specific items to progress? This one is limited to a couple city blocks with some corridor alleys connecting the two. Almost all the doors are unlocked so there's no sense of getting lost and overwhelmed like in the original. The game is not fleshed out at all.

2 - Nemesis is not a roaming boss like Mr. X in RE2 remake. When you first encounter him, he chases you till you get to a specific save point. After that, he's limited to set pieces and boss fights. He no longer just stalks you at various points in the game like he did in the original. He's also more nimble in this instance, so perhaps that's why he doesn't play such a daunting integral part to the story this time around. However, instead of possibly balancing player maneuverability with that of Nemesis, or toning his capabilities down, they outright neuter Nemesis' role and reduce him to set pieces and boss fights. Hence why they dropped his name from the title; which is really disappointing.

3 - No puzzles. There was an obvious ode to the original with the RE2 remake and even the remake of RE1. With those titles, Capcom expanded on the puzzles by adding additional content and locations. This one completely restructures the first 3rd of the game while taking out a majority of the substance. The whole task to get the train moving takes about two hours and it's a very linear process considering there are no locked doors or keys for you to find to progress the story. The only reason to roam or backtrack is to unlock weapons cases and lockers once you get your lock pick after the first hour of the game.

For the new bloods who never played the original RE3: Nemesis, this remake probably won't disappoint. The premise of this game is the escape. You're trying to escape Raccoon City, and Nemesis is just a road block standing in your way. But for the life long fans of the original 3 games, this one does not live up to the precedent set by the previous 2 remakes. RE1 had a terrifying remake. Every bit of the original game you remembered was there in some capacity. The graphics were updated, mechanics were added like the last ditch defense tasers and knives; even additional content like the Lisa subplot was added to the already impressive story. Seeing Lisa shuffle around while wearing her dead parents' faces was truly horrifying. Especially given the context of the additional notes alluding to the history behind her undoing. Crimson heads were added that needed to be burned before they re-re-animated into swift killing machines. It was a true remake. The same can be said for RE2 which ditched the fixed camera angles of the original and implemented an over the shoulder 3rd person perspective in its place. All the while bringing back to life the RE2 fans knew and loved.

RE3 remake does not fit this criteria. Instead, we get a neutered boss with a shallow game that comes off as insulting at times. I'm referring to things such as the inclusion of the clock tower without actually following that whole chapter of the original game. Jill doesn't make her way to RPD HQ. Instead, Carlos goes there once the train gets moving. Hell, we don't even properly get introduced to Nemesis in the same vein as the original; watching Brad meet his untimely gruesome demise at the hands of the towering beast. We just see a zombified Brad take a chunk out of Marvin from RE2 in front of the RPD HQ. And then Marvin is gone for the remainder of the game.

Capcom got some things right though. This game isn't outright awful, but damn, it's not good either. For me, its not at all what I was expecting or anticipating. Do not pay full price for this game. I get the feeling Capcom's focus was the multiplayer mode and they tacked it on in order to justify $60 price tag. I would hesitate to pay even $20 for this game at it's current state. I won't even play the MP just out of principle. I don't want to justify this game in any capacity, nor do I want to let Capcom think they can pull something similar down the road with other memorable games from their hay day.

Capcom owes its fans a true remake. A directors cut, where they fix a lot of the issues, rehash the story and take the time to actually present the original game with modern day improvements the way they did with RE2 and RE1.

Nostalgia was strong with this game. As it was my favorite of the entire Resident Evil series. What's not to love about the OG Nemesis?
While I loved this game, and it is nostalgia being the reason I rated so high. This game was a huge missed opportunity with how much they cut from the game.
But the game has a few downs.

    The Bad:
    1. The game is incredibly short. When I saw the trophy list to beat it in under 2 hours, I was worried. And my worry was valid. The game is way too short. They focus to much time on speed runs. If they would have dropped the speedruns, and focused on story and content, it would have boosted it to a perfect 10. The major point deduction stopping it from a perfect score was how short the game was.

    2. Nemesis Stage 2. This was a let down. Instead of getting the bad ass tentacle beast of a nemesis stage 2, one of the scariest boss fights in Resident Evil 3 ps1, we got a dog fight. I loved the game. But this fight disapointed me. I was ready for the intense battle with Nemesis. But this werewolf form running in circles was a let down. They could have saved this form for the fight in the acid pit. Which we have that same fight again, with the same tactic.

    3. The entire clock tower part was removed. That was a bit of a bummer.

    Now...
    The good:

    1. This game is beautiful. It looks amazing. It plays amazing. And it feels amazing. There are a few old school jump scares mixed with the creepy environment that really make you just enjoy the scenery.

    2. The original nemesis chance scenes are great. In the beginning, I loved the Nemesis hunt.

    3. The feel of being back in Raccoon city, and seeing the old school ps1 city brought to life was pretty awesome.

I loved Resident Evil. But they really need to bring back all the things they cut. And Merc mode! I felt a little jipped with the rewards shop.
The old school Merc Mode to get points to buy in the store would have been a lot of fun. And then, the shop had very few items in it.
    Where is the Gatling gun!?

Can we have a Resident Evil 3 Remake Remake please?

I am a huge fan of the original 3 releases of the RE series, and for me RE2 remake is a 10/10 game.

There are bad design choices too... for example the story changing about RPD is not good, since ****spoiler ahead**** RPD is Jill's place of work, Brad Vickers is Jill partner, STARS office is her office. **** ****

Other changes are positive, or at least, not as important to the story in general. Hospital location is far better than the original. Nemesis is good and the boss fights are good. They improved here, since RE2 Remake was a lot of hit and run. Missing some key Nemesis spots on the original, like post office i.e.

But indeed, the game feels much more linear than its predecessor. Locations seem a bit *passing by, not too much effort to make you stay here*

The game is good. If you played a lot of the original and you remember, you will feel a bit empty. If not, you are enjoying for sure.

I really don't have a bad thing to say about the game's game play or story. The level of overall polish on this game is flat out, fantastic. I never experienced any type of frame drops, glitches or bugs and I played on a regular PS4. I loved trying to survive the new Racoon City, never feeling like I had enough ammo and supplies. Not knowing what was around the next corner. I thoroughly enjoyed my first play through, as you can never get that back. All the character have reasons for doing the things they do, when they do them. Although I wish they expanded a hair more on Nikolai's back story, but oh well. Some of my favorite moments were, the opening, the re-envisioned Racoon City, seeing the precursory events to how things came to be in RE2R and the Nemesis fights, specifically forms 1 and 2. The final fight is very gratifying also!!!

I know there are self entitled gamers out there hating on "cut" content and campaign length and in my opinion, it's BS. This is a RE-IMAGINING, a RE-TELLING, not a 1 for 1 remake of the original. In my opinion, this version of RE3 surpasses what RE2R did since we aren't left with any canon questions at the campaign's conclusion. Yes, I'm big on canon as a series veteran dating pack to 1996 with the OG RE for PSX. This series has always been one of my favorites since I was 12 years old. This game brings back a lot of nostalgia, in the type of feeling I got playing those classics and again with RE2R and RE3R. I can't stress enough how much I LOVED every second of this game.

I feel sorry for the people who can't enjoy it because, some area settings are gone, or some enemies didn't make it into the game. They are too petty to enjoy the NEW stuff we got, the new enemies, the new areas, the new story beats.

All in all, this was a great game, I give it a 9.7 out of 10 (metacritic won't let me give it a 9.7 so I had to round up) because to me it's as close to a perfect game as you can get. Graphically, I think RE2R was better since when you dismember zombie limbs, they hang and fall off. in this game, they kind of explode and disappear. There were some other parts, I thought were the difficulty spikes unnecessarily, then returns back to normal. NOT talking about boss fights though, I though they were very evenly matched once you figure out the correct strategy.

If you are a fan of the series or not, I definitely recommend playing this game.

Probably my favorite Resident Evil game yet. Nightmare and Inferno Modes change up more than Scenario B ever did in last year's RE2 remake.

What this lacks in terms of campaign length, it makes up in spades with it's impeccable replayability.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's a solid game. Don't listen to the people giving it a rating of 0-6. Could it be better? Yes. Is it faithful to the original? No. But it's still a great game. There are plenty of complaints I have but there's also plenty of praises I have to give this game. It's too short and the Carlos portions of the game are pointless unlike the original RE3 where his hospital visit to save Jill was amazing! Here, not so much. The boss battles are gimmicky and almost battle arena like. The only boss fight that's good is the construction site fight. Also, Nemesis 2nd and 3rd form are terrible. The original did it much better. I love Jill and Carlos. Mikhail and Nicholson, too. All great acting from those characters. Overall, it's an 8.5/10 for me. I rounded it up because this game brings back nostalgia for me. Expand

Great game, nice to revisit it after all these years, even if it isn’t an exact remake of the original. Only gripe I have is that it leaves me wanting more and just feels a bit too short. At times I feel like I’m rushing, which is entirely because of the break neck pace of this game compared to the RE2 Remake.

Resident Evil 3 (2020) reformulates its original source as Resident Evil 2 (2019) did to its source: it respects what made the original enjoyable whilst giving a fun and [even more] terrorizing experience on Jill Valentine's escape from Raccoon City.

Full of thrills, over-the-top combat system and tense moments that will make you jump of your chair, be it from fear or desperation, this game is really well executed as reimagining of 1999's RE3.

Nemesis is relentless, so are the rest of the enemies of the game, and played on Hardcore (as I did) you will have to be glued and really focused on what's coming at you.

When it comes to the nostalgia factor, this game is pretty amazing, be it from certain locations, the soundtrack and even personal relationships. Just like on RE2 Remake, things were reimagined, and with that I mean that things might be as they were originally or they can be displaced on another context, place or time (which worked pretty well on RE2 Remake, and so it does on this one).

The game, depending on how you play it, how many times you die and on which difficulty you choose, can take between 6 to 8 hours, which, albeit inferior to its previous predecessor, still makes for a thrilling ride where you can enjoy every minute of it and not feel that you're rushing things. Even then, though, some parts of the game can feel a bit linear and rushed, and also there can be some missing or incomplete things compared to the original game.

Storywise, the game follows the same line as the original but with more dramatic and interesting nuances, making it have a Hollywood-ish style.

Overall, I was pretty satisfied with this game, and it really put me up on my feet the whole time, never knowing what to expect next, even if I had played the original more than once. Its replayability value is also inherit, with all the collectibles and challenges that await you after finishing it the first time.

    PROS:

    - Haunting Raccoon City
    - Dynamic Combat System
    - Story, Characters and Voice Acting
    - Visuals are amazing, even better than RE2
    - Nemesis, although...

    CONS:
    - ... he could be a little bit more present.
    - Some missing or unexplored original parts that could have been better utilized
    - Dodge mechanic can become a nuisance sometimes
    - Still not being able to use Herbs when picking them up (like in RE4)

    Final Score: 8.4 / 10 (rounded to 8)
    (Initial Score: 9.0)

PS: after further replaying the game and revising my initial impression, I came to the conclusion that I was giving the game more credit than it deserves, considering the length and source material homage aspects, hence why I lowered its score.

Not every game must be a masterpiece, some games just come out decent and passable, they will be forgotten soon of course by many, but that doesn't mean they deserve a 0-4 rating, keep these ratings for the real scam games, which are unfortunately a lot nowdays :(

I Have finished the game 2 times for now, first walkthrough "hardcore" difficulty, then assisted for some more achievements, knowing then the game, this is what I think of it:

    Pros:
    - The graphic is great

    - The environment is very well made, every assets really is fitting perfectly in the game, RC in the beginning is outstanding!

    - The combat system response is great and very accurate, it is really enjoyable killing zombies, which is 50% of what RE is about, isnt it?

    - I liked the story, it flows well, so the characters and their interactions

    Cons:
    - The playthrough is kinda short, I have finished it in 8 hours at "hardcore" and I am a slow player when it comes to single player games because I like enjoying visually the environments, reading stuffs etc etc. Then replayed it in "assist" mode, it took me 2 hours and a half knowing what to do. In standard difficulty an avarage player will beat it in 5 hours or less as a first run. Seems more like DLC lenght then a standalone game.

    - no real puzzle, the ones inside doesn't give any challenge, they just pretend to be problem solving minigames but they are not. This sucked

    - The game is too linear, and scripted, it is like watching a movie (a good one), especially nemesis encounter which are great, but triggered every time by the game progresses . The exploration and the returns to the save room are very few, that is IMHO the worst problem in this game, that unique feeling of discovery and fear of returing into a zone because you died there many times before is nearly absent.

    - Many key zones of the original are missing, that's a pity, because with them it would have had more hours of playthrough, making it a great run.

-Zombie's bad AI: kiting them between the doors and hiding in the next room withouth having them following you is really breaking immersion...and is bad!

    CONCLUSION:
The game has flaws, many of them are HEAVY. that's a fact.
That doesn't mean it must be thrown it in the garbage. It surely has its EPIC moments, and it is enjoyable especially if you don't think and compare it with RE2 while playing it!
With more playthrough hours and some nice Puzzle it would have been a great game, but sadly they are not in the game, so it is passable/decent, nothing more nothing less.

There is an ingame shop where you can buy infinite ammos and items which will help you going thorugh it again for better ratings which can be bought with virtual points completing the challenges , the problem is that there are not multiple endings, so it can be played again just for fun.

With the game comes an online mode called RE Resistance, wich I have never tried because got bored during the tutorial. rofl.

    Final verdict: 7/10

They also changed the game to be linear and too action-heavy. Yes, the original was more action-Y than the 2nd but it wasn’t combat focused. There was no need to shoot zombies or kill nemesis outside of boss fights.

The original took me about 10 or so hours the first time. This took me about 4 or 5. I’m sorry but it’s a crap remake. Maybe it's a good game more broadly if you know nothing about the original. But it’s lost all of its personality.

I loved the re2 remake so this really was a blow.

I liked the changes that they made to the original and how they made it fit in better with the Resident Evil 2 remake by showing you what happens before the events of RE2. I thought that was really cool.

I did enjoy the more linear and action orientated game play, even though I am a huge fan of the puzzle solving in Resident Evil 1 Remake and Zero and 2 etc...this was nice to still have the resource management and but with very light puzzle solving.

I definitely think this is a massive improvement over the original Resident Evil 3 and a good game for people who haven't played a Resident Evil game before to dive in and try out the easy mode.

There are lots of challenges and replay value on the harder levels for more experienced players and it's a lot of fun to play through multiple times to unlock all the extras.

Terrible level design it shows that they just focused on the highlights of RE Nemesis 99’, comparing it to RE 2 Remake this game felt so empty and boring at times by making zombies bullet sponges, and annoying tasks so the game lasts longer. Just by comparing it with the original the puzzles were much better or at least entertaining.

Nemesis wasn’t as good as Mr. X almost as if the complaints about him made them downgrade the chase system and skipping his tentacle mutation. The most enjoyable part of the game is the beginning and it’s just 1/4 of the game.

Boss fights weren’t fun, just gimmicky and wonky.
The camera had the worst angle close-up when fighting a boss made it so annoying at times.

The city felt so empty and again just focusing on the highlights of the original, the time you spend in the city is ridiculous I liked better the unlocking of each section, RE 2 Remake was more faithful in this aspect. I have to say RE 3 is my favorite game of all time and this wasn’t nearly as good as RE 2, I’m so disappointed.

IMPORTANT NOTE: My first playthrough was on Hardcore mode and I finished it in 6 Hours.

Overall an entertaining experience with cool “action packed moments” but a disappointment with the execution of level design and progression, the cinematic experience is good but it would’ve been fun if you at least played the way to the hospital, and sadly that’s pretty much the game “A good looking disappointment”.

And to CAPCOM please make this kind of games in-house, you’ve seen how well did RE 7, RE 2 Remake and Devil May Cry V everyone was happy and at least you felt like those 60 dollars were worth spending.

First of all, I would like to talk about the main frustration of the game: Nemesis. He is no longer the relentless Nemesis that haunts you all the time. This only happens at a single point in the game. And it is not the same sensation because he jumps like the Hulk and just appears in front of Jill. It is not a shark that slowly approaches its food. They should have taken advantage of that element that was already present in 2 Remake.
Anyway, Nemesis is just an excuse for action scenes. You just need to press forward and sometimes use the dodge than you will never die. He's MUCH inferior to Mr. X. And, unlike Mr. X, Nemesis IS the heart of Resident Evil 3.
It does not stop there. In addition to taking the heart of the Resident Evil 3 Original, they also cut landscapes, scenery and especially all the puzzles in the original game.
For all this, it is a game that is only worth buying when you have a discount and a nice discount. Despite being fun and good, it is very short and disappointing.

The original RE games were some of my favorite as a kid. I played RE1 when I was 11, back when it first came out. I also like seeing more of Raccoon City and being less confined to a mansion or police station. This remake of Resident Evil 3 is great. I like it a little more than RE2 and like the added dodge mechanics. RE3 feels a little faster paced on the standard difficulty and has less tedious backtracking IMO. Once again I like this title because you get to spend more time seeing the actual city, and less of the game is spent in underground Umbrella facilities. Those that are complaining about the game length confuse me. All of the original RE 1-3, can be beaten in a little over an hour and thirty minutes. The Resident Evil Gamecube remake can be beaten in about an hour and a half, and the door loading times take up about 25 of those minutes. The RE games are only long the first play through or on more challenging difficulties. Once you know where everything is at you can cruise through the game. I beat RE3 Remake on standard difficulty my first time through in 6 hours and 38 mins. My second time through took me 1 hour and 35 mins using an infinite rocket launcher that you can unlock. I love this game, and I have a lot of fun replaying it. I also love RE2 remake, RE3 is just a little more fun for me to replay with less tedious back tracking. Expand

This game is false advertising and a dishonest cash grab. It baits you with the name and promise that it's a RE3 remake, but it's not, and for this sh-tty practices from Capcom this game deserves a low score, regardless of how good the game itself is. If a company tells you its selling you something and it's obviously a lie and willfully deceit, they have to be called out for it. This isThis game is false advertising and a dishonest cash grab. Way too short for the price. So many iconic parts of the original scrapped, with zero replay value. Classic Capcom after a successful RE2R to churn out this disappointment.

Bet game in about 7 hours and these hours were awesome. In RE2 I don't like 2 things: mostly the same scenario for 2 characters and the fact I can't kill every zombie. In RE3 both issues have bin fixed! And on more thing – quite short game duration could be either advantage or disadvantage. As for me it's a benefit as I don't have much time to play. Even though it is a very successful game, you will feel a little disappointed. Compared to the remake of the second game, this one often loses its pace and it is impossible to get rid of the impression that there could and should have been more to this game. [Issue#303]

All we can say is that six hours of Resident Evil 3 is just enough - and we're aware that's both compliment and curse. [Issue#346, p.88]

After a stellar remake of an arguably the best Resident Evil game ever made, Capcom has let down our expectations by giving us a more scripted, more linear survival horror action game that will probably be forgotten like so many sequels that have gone the path of less resistance when it comes to game design. RE3 make feels more like a DLC than a full-blown game.
