Nothing short of money-grubbing and laziness happened .

It pains me to write about how poorly the script was written, so I'm going to put that aside.
I only have one question for Capcom: did you even try to remain faithful to the source material?

These guys should be ashamed to release this half assed delivered garbage. I mean, isn’t it obvious that what made RE 2 remake a huge success was the entire nostalgia that the OG RE2 offered??? So why DELETE that from this one???!!

Instead you offer this online crap I am so tired of online gaming ruining EVERYTHING. You would think Capcom would be different with nostalgia games

He is in the company to make money. Yes, on the video he smiles, says that he loves all of you very much and appreciates every fan, but he really doesn’t care about your opinions. When there was a videoconferencing of investors before the release of remake 2 and they said that it would be released, I and another guy from France seemed to be interested in how canonical the remake would be (2), it would be a remake as a remake of 1 part or a restart, on that he replied (almost verbatim): "Everyone doesn’t give a damn about what happened a long time ago. Now it’s a new time and we need a new audience. And those who played early games will not even remember half, so the canon is what we are creating now" . 2. After Re7, when the game was kindly asked and asked for a remake2, he was very opposed and wanted to continue the story of Ethan. In general, he is very proud and feels himself the savior of the series. 3. Remake 3 was completely ready a month after the release of remake 2. They slowed down specially, they wanted to look at the fees, if they were worse, remake3 should have gone as a paid add-on. Model Jill, by the way, was ready after Leon, but before Claire. But Remake2 soared into the charts and then he advanced the decision to repeat the feint and sell Remake3 as a new game. For the entire time after the release of remake 2, only the menu was moved to the center, added dodging (with her flash her mother), the model of Nemesis and its form of mutation were slightly corrected. Everything. 4. Resistance was riveted almost on the knee, redoing and trimming the early version of the Battle mod for a remake2. To the question of why, “now games of a similar genre are fashionable (several players run away against one, such as Friday the 13th, I’m not interested in that honestly) and you need to enter the market, you need to try again to enter microtransactions, it’s profitable” (remember the first steps in Relevance2?). 5. He does not like spiders. Therefore, they are not. And in the concept of a remake of 1 part, the Black Tiger is cut almost immediately. At first I wanted to cut Lisa, but I watched Mr. X come in and now she is in his role. I hope they will redo everything, I will not get access to this info already, the investment contract ends in June. 6. In addition to the main game, there is a DLC with the working name Last escape - about Nicholas. He really likes him. Released or not - not in the know. There is a suspicion that they will not be released. They know that because of the short duration, the negative is now walking on the network. Of course, he doesn’t give a damn - the main thing is that they carry the loot, but from above they told the situation not to glow. 7. The old parts are generally very cold and rather negative. He says he would have done much better, redid a lot. Therefore, the Revelations series has now hung, he does not like the whole story with the Wesker. 8. The development is now part 8 (the very one that was restarted with this **** Ethan), the concept of remake1 and the outbreak for viar in the manner of chronicles (rail in the sense, but against the background of the recent half-life, they’ll probably remake something like that). Soon they should show something, I’m not specifically aware of it, I have nothing to do with these “two” remakes. 9. The re3.5 developments were taken in re8, he generally proposed re4,5,6 to throw out the new concept, make a remake of Veronica officially as part 4, but now as far as I know they don’t work on it, maybe the second studio is working, I don’t know Something like that. I have not been to the videoconferencing since January and I will not continue to cooperate. Since childhood, I had a dream to touch the series. Touched. At least in the form of an investor. I don’t like who now “directs” her. The development team doesn’t like Fabiano very much, the Japanese are more turned towards the fans and want to move the old universe, but the board of directors likes that the money for the series goes in large volumes with not very large budgets. If remake3 financially repeats the success of remake2 (God forbid surpasses), wait for the next cut.
    - Now a remake of 1 early concert. The script and all that. Fabiano does not like animal enemies, so under the knife went spiders, crows, worms. They barely barely persuaded Gennady. And the dogs. By the way, under the clock tower there should have been a basement with spiders. But the tower with them went to the same place as the cemetery with worms.

Other than the short RE3 campaign, the Multiplayer mode is just a cheap copycat to DbD. RE deserves much more creativity than this crap!
And I need an option buy RE3 or Resistance, not as a bundle.

What a disappointment. First and foremost the game is way too short for the price that it's being advertised as. A full $60 for a 2 hr game. This is not a remake title more like a DLC or "expansion pack" to RE2's REMAKE. The gameplay is nearly the same, few more action segments with Jill's action. And speaking of Jill not only did they take away any femininity the character had but CAPCOMWhat a disappointment. And speaking of Jill not only did they take away any femininity the character had but CAPCOM was dishonest about the original outfit! We were promised a original character pack with our preorder. So WHY in the heck is Jill in shorts and not her SKIRT from resident evil 3? This outfit has been used in RE1 Remake, Chronicles, and other titles. But now she gets shorts? Way to bend the knee Capcom, in the worst way possible. After watching others play and stream the game and my own brief time with it I quickly got a full refund from Steam.

With the difficulty cranked to Hardcore it will defineitly increase the length of the game. I did notice that Nemesis appeared less than in the original 1999 release but this didnt bother me at all because I felt that when he did appear it was way more impactful and tense. The game maintins in its majority the survival horror feel from the last game but it is at the same time much more full of action especially during the Carlos segments. I was really surprised when I finished the game and went online to see all the negative reviews I seriously thought the game would get way more praise than its getting. Another thing to mention is that after beating the campaign there is a unlock system that incites you to replay the story again to unlock new weapons, outfits and items, a feature that was missing in the previous game but at the same time this game replaces the mercenaries mode with the online multiplayer known as resistance. This was the only thing I really would say I disliked about the game but REsistance serves as a standalone part of the game and doesnt even have to be downloaded with the main game. I can't wait what more plans Capcom has in store to add to this game in the same vein that they did in Resident Evil 2 with free extra modes (Hopefully we get Mercenaries in the near future) and some cool paid outfit dlc's such as in REmake2. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As a whole, I feel the game is a solid 7/7.5 outta 10. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it. It doesn't surpass the original for me, that'll always be my favorite RE. But it does a damn fine job of merging the two styles of RE into one little package. The game is really fun to play with the new mechanics at your disposal. The visuals are wonderfully detailed and vibrant, a stark contrast to the subdued hues of Remake 2. Splashes of color illuminate the chaos and despair Raccoon City finds itself in. Oh, and the score is beautifully redone for this retelling of RE 3. Each piece is haunting, adding tension to the locale and situations Jill finds herself unfolding.

With all that being said, I understand everyones gripes with the game. I may not share all of them such as the games length, but I feel some are pretty glaring:

. I feel as though they've could have merged the Park and Clock Tower as one area for us to explore, rather than just have it as a boss arena. It wouldn't have to have been both entire maps either, but something a little more substantial than just a backdrop for a boss would've been nice. Maybe you go through the Park to get to the Clock Tower because a rescue helicopter is stationed at the courtyard. You arrive only to find that Nemmy in his second form has annihilated the rescue team and you have to scale the tower to escape him.

. I REALLY wish they did more with Nemesis in the areas where you could explore. (Especially in his first form.) Asides from the Raccoon City streets, you're never actively pursued by him other than scripted sequences. I get why it was done for pacing reasons since it would've been way to stressful the entire time but still would've greatly enhanced his presence.

.The last one for me is the lack of The Mercenaries. That was such a nice little bonus when you first unlock it in OG RE 3 that the R3make feels admittedly incomplete without it. Hell, RE 2R had all of its old modes in some capacity, so it's especially jarring. I truly hope that Capcom can add it down the line in an update like they did with the Ghost Survivors.

Other than those, the only thing I would add are some more costumes and such. R3make is a fine game, I love it to bits. The characters feel more real than they've ever been and the story keeps you hooked throughout the duration. But it could've been even better with perhaps more time in the oven.

The zombie and monster Artificial intelligence is really bad, zombies would attack the walls insted of me.

The gore has been downgraded. The limbs of the zombies explode insted of falling off.
Mr. X was quite fun and a challenge, Nemesis is scripted and easy to take down.

Numerous part of the original game were cut off: clock tower, park, gas station, etc. Making the game super short even if is your first time playing it. It took me 4 hours to finish it.

For a zombie game it lacks of Zombies. Resident evil 2 remake had a lot of enemies roaming around the 4 stages, but in resident evil 3 for a freaking city there is no zombies at all.

There are no puzzles, that's a trade mark of the series.

It's not that it's a bad game. It controls well and it absolutely looks amazing, especially on the Pro and the HDR is implemented much better than 2 but that's about where it stops as far as it being superiorto RE2! For one Capcom cut so much material and locations from this game. The clock tower which played a crucial role in the original is gone (albeit in the background as an Easter egg) the park which was a nice change of scenery in the original had been cut to a connector area with no enemies and no Gravedigger boss fight!!!!! The Dead Factory which was such a creepy and cool place and featured the final fight with Nemesis is gone..... gone! Also Capcom had a chance to expand upon Raccoon City and really flesh it out but again it seems rushed. Sure it looks incredible and you can go in buildings but once you trigger the next story sequence your exploring is cut short and there's no going back. It's a big bummer. Speaking of Nemesis, he's supposed to be the big scary Tyrant that's superior to Mr X. Well he's not. Mr X in thd RE2 Remake legitimately frightened me! Running and hiding in a safe home or being on one floor and hearing his footsteps and not knowing where they were coming from was unnerving to say the least. They expanded upon the OG Mr X and made him a worthy adversary but they went the complete opposite with Nemesis! Most of the encounters with him are cinematic, quick timed events. There are s few encounters in the early part of the game that are scary but halfway through the pacing becomes bipolar!

It's also really short. About six hours and it's over and there's little incentive to replay it too. It seems the inclusion of Resistance was supposed to make up for the lack of content but it doesn't. I didn't buy RE Resistance, I bought RE3 Nemesis Remake! It's not that scary either. It looks amazing, controls great and Jill is reimagined perfectly! She's a believable badass protagonist but it's just sad she's stuck in this game!

There is cut content. Some of the design choices are iffy, and some of the late game story content and beats feel rushed. The beginning, middle and very end though are fantastically paced, action-y and at times scary, though not as scary as the RE2 Remake was. This is, probably, the weakest of the recent Resident Evil entries, but that is saying something about the series since I am still giving it a 7.

What is great about the game are the new story beats, new areas that are shown, further diving into the lore of the universe that wasn't expanded on in the original. If anything, I'd say this is kind of like... well, imagine a recut of a movie. The content in this game adds to the original. It adds overall. I feel like it is almost like a different campaign to the original game. New content. New twists. New characters and deaths. It is fresh, fun and worth your time.

Resident Evil 7 is a 9 and so is Re2Remake, this is a 7 because of its length, cut content and some of the rushed bits.

There's hardly any downtime as you're constantly heading for the next area and next to no back tracking. Very short for a $60 game, and this will not have the longevity that the original did and that game was short as well, but at least it was directed far better. This game is so scatterbrain that it feels like multiple directors handled it. There's also so many reused assets that you'll encounter if you've played RE7 and RE2R. Modern Capcom is incredibly lazy and they have westernized this once great franchise. A triple A game developer should be better than this. If you buy, get it at a heavy discount. It's a $20 game at best and should never of been a standalone release. Expand

Resident Evil 3: Remake WILL be a decisive game in the community where people will either enjoy it or loathe it. For the purpose of my review, I want to present to you (the reader) with two perspectives:

1: How the game rates against the original
    2. How the game rates against installments of the last few years

By breaking it down in this fashion, hopefully you'll gain a better understanding of why players and critics are so split on the title.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (PS1) was always a bit of a departure from its previous installments. Survival action picked up and the game became a bit linear (though there were branching segments). In this regard, RE3: Remake feels like instead of giving you branching arcs, the developers felt compelled to keep channeling the player towards the next objective. This minimizes the amount of backtracking which artifically expanded the gameplay time RE2 and RE7 had. Instead, it's all about escaping as quickly as possible. And, while detractors will find this change annoying, even playing "casually," exploring every nook and cranny along the way, I still found my first play through to be on par with the original. Yes, several aspects of the storytelling have changed. And RE continuity purists are rightfully upset about those changes. However, in the grander scheme of bringing the game forward 21 years, I can understand why those changes occurred; even if I don't agree with them.

As my mentioned previously, the game's run cycle for a single run through is definitely shorter than previous installments. When stacking this game up against them, even the original was drastically shorter. People tend to forget that this was Capcom's "Bridge Baby" (no relation to Hideo Kojima's ;) ) while the developer worked on Resident Evil: Code Veronica. Thus, RE3 was always intended to be used to gauge how respective players would be with more action, less backtracking, and quicker gun play. I would challenge anyone upset with this fact to go back and play Nemesis to feel the comparison to its peers, then come back again to evaluate how similar RE3: Remake is for the current generation.

Fans of the series, and perhaps even new comers will definitely feel the difference as the series was setting up to jump into a new generation (Sega Dreamcast, PS2 and Gamecube). Still visually stunning, full of detail, solid game play mechanics, RE3: Remake will undoubtedly end up just like Nemesis. Loved for the villain, praised for for its strong female protagonist, yet ultimately overshadowed because its departure and playtime ultimately falls short when compared. At least bundled with this is Capcom's experimental multiplayer survival mode which honestly hasn't received the love it deserves. It's an interesting concept which, if people would stop emotionally reacting to everything else, deserves to recognized as Capcom's first solid attempt to bring a cooperative, survival online element into a the RE universe that isn't just a cash grab.

tl;dr - Yes it's shorter than RE2 and RE7. Nemesis was shorter than RE1 and RE2 in the 90s. It's still an enjoyable experience and I would recommend it. Try playing it before reviewing it from YouTube videos.

The overall reviews are very much positive. I for one enjoyed the game. I hear people’s concerns regarding the length and Nemesis not being as much fun towards the end. Overall the fans can’t complain, Capcom have given us fans what we wanted and brought back two classics. The game going forward has to evolve and unfortunately that won’t please everyone. Bring on RE8.

This is not even a remake or a re-imagination like RE 2 Remake was.
Resident Evil 3 is a disaster.
They just decided to cut corners everywhere. Locations and game modes have been removed. Places like the park, cemetary, clock tower, the grave digger and the dead factory are no more. Mercernaries game mode is also removed, instead we got a crappy multiplayer game called Resistance

The game feels like RE5-6 in terms of mechanics and gameplay and that's exactly everything that is wrong with this remake, if we can call it that.
Nemesis is a joke, it's like a MR.X with an awful redesign. He's heavily scripted and his behaviour doesn't make any sense. Not to mention that some of his moves are a joke.
The gore has been reduced for no reason, the OST is just terrible and like in RE2 Remake, they didn't tried their best at all. But at least in RE2 we had the option to switch to the original OST while in RE3 that option doesn't exist and you're forced to play with the awful remake version of the songs.
And don't even get me started on the final battle which is pure unfiltered garbage straight out of an anime or the typical Platinum games that i hate.

Hard to believe how they butchered this remake after the masterpiece that they've done with Reside nt Evil 2 remake.
Refund made, i'm not even bothering with Capcom and future Resident Evil titles anymore, this is just pathetic.

This is what happens when you leave the remake in charge of an incompetent team that didn't even play the original game.

    - Gameplay is smooth and tactical at times.
    - Graphics are stunning as expected from their newest engine.
    - Cutscenes are a great sensation for anyone who enjoys a good action sequence
    - Nemesis is terrifying but his combat moves and spawn animations are pretty
    - The scenery and locations are amazing. Not as claustrophobic but incredible detailed.

    Cons

    - As almost every room and open area contains a lot of zombies, they stop to scare you and start to irritate you.
    - The game has a lack of puzzles which isn't a problem for an action focused game but is a problem for a Resident Evil title.
    - Although he may look menacing, Nemesis is easily taken care off using a single grenade or a couple of shotgun shells. Though I haven't tested if this is still relevant in the hardest difficulty, I hoped that even in standard mode he would still take a lot more punches.

    Pricetag for you

60,- or less if you are a Resident Evil reboot fan or an Action-horror fanatic
40,- or less if you are looking for a thrilling experience or simply a good story
20,- or less If you want a spooky game that doesn't soak up all your time.

    Important note.
if you've played Resident Evil 2 before playing Resident Evil 3, you will get less surprised and spooked by this one since you're already experienced dealing with the undead. It is therefor good to say to those who've played Resident Evil 2: Don't expect the same experience you had with 2. Play this as an extension to your previous experience. If you enjoyed the gameplay in Resident Evil 2, you will surely enjoy Resident Evil 3

The game is identical to the RE2 Remake. Nothing changes. However, they had everything ready to produce the game, since the entire model of the game was captured from the RE2 remake. Still, they managed to destroy a game with a nonsensical story and without several important scenarios of the classic.
Couple this with a 4-hour campaign, a nemesis that manages to impose less respect than an ordinary zombie in the game and .. we have a very lazy resident evil 3, along the lines of the work model that capcom so much heard was bad in Resident evil 6.
I hope it's the end of remakes, not doing it is better than doing it poorly.

There's none of the freedom of exploration we had in RE2 Remake. In that game, there was enough in the police station segments to be enjoyable, where you could tackle most of the objectives in any order you wanted. And Mr X was at least an attempt at a boss that dynamically stalks you. I expected they would have built upon this foundation with Nemesis, where he stalks you throughout the city while you are trying to avoid him and get **** done.

RE3 railroads you from start to finish and every Nemesis encounter is scripted. So replay ability is out the window or any chance of surprise encounters during a 2nd play through. It's predictable, too.

They're dialing back the original formula again and are bringing it more in line with RE6 on rails shooter **** which I loath.

To Capcom: Keep your games in development for longer if you have to if it means you can deliver a fully fleshed out experience. Rushing out a game; especially a highly anticipated and loved game such as RE3 will not do you favors in the long run. As a long time fan of the series, and as someone who enjoyed RE2R last year; this was a disappointment and I'll be more hesitant to purchase your future titles.

Nemesis is a joke compared to the original as a boss, sure his other form in the remake is cool but the tension he created in the original wasnt there at all in the remake. Yeah if they released the game as a dlc and from 20 to 25$ tops then my disappointment would have been alot less and may be i would have been ok with because it being just a dlc to re2 rem.

That was how things should have been done but not this time following the abomination that was RE:2 (Awful B scenerio etc.) Capcom have done it again with a lack of respect to the original material that feels nothing like the original Resident Evil 3. Example in the original game Jill explored the Police Station but nope it's Carlos who explores it. The made so many changes it's a slap in the face to us who played the original but just like everything else if it was made before 2000 its outdated and needs a remake. Sigh. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After playing to completion in just under 5 hours with 11 deaths I feel this game lacks the same draw and appeal that its predecessor brought to the fan base. I have played Resident Evil 2 remake multiple times and this new release does not compare in many aspects. RE3 remake does bring with it a more action orientated approach with the dodge mechanic and the more aggressive and agile Nemesis when he appears but the story flies along and seems more of an afterthought than a critical part of the game. There has been changes from the original game to locations to make them feel more modern with little twists such as Carlos being the one to enter the police station instead of Jill. But the omission of the clock tower area with the substitute being a boss battle with stage 2 Nemesis around a roundabout in front of said clock tower felt cheap and it was things like this that cheapened the experience along with the knowledge that the game can be completed in under 2 hours (trophy/achievement details this) that made this seem a little cash grabby. Overall if you are a fan of the Resident Evil series you will no doubt enjoy this retelling of the PS1 classic but if like me you played the classic when it originally released you may be slightly disappointed, especially when compared to last years RE2 remake. I think Capcom would have saved some criticism if they had released this as a stand alone expansion for £25 or pushed back the release and expanded on the story not reducing it. Expand

Both remakes under 5 hours mr x is cannon in re2R wen in original he was not so y make it more repetitive with same formula?. He chases u up to the last 2nd to last section only to boss fights all re boss fights are scripted duh the last section builds tensions way better than boring police station sme new verity of enemy’s played straight on hardcore good challenge connects and ads and flushed out the sme stars members like brad how the lutenant from re2R got bitten it’s survival horror action with great characters mechs that being a depth of realism to the characters pulse great acting not 2D like Leon and Claire much more invested in them flushed out the story way better then original re3 it’s samall quality over quantity both re2 re3 under 5hours love it amazing better than 2 for me Expand

Don’t listen to the review bombers giving the game a 0. Is it missing a ton from the original? Yes. Is it only 5 hours long? Yes. But also don’t listen to those giving it 9s and 10s. This game moves from place to place far too often without creating an engrossing world to explore. It feels like the game keeps pushing you forward unlike the slow, intense pace of REmake 2. Too much spam, I'm tired of the alien of isolation enemies like "Mr.X and Nemesis". The dodge mechanic doesn't function very well. The Dead Space enemies on zombie heads is bull **** causing easy hit damage.

You can't dodge in tight spaces. The zombies moving away from you have weird frame-rates. Once you hit Alien ehmm I mean Nemesis you have nothing to defend your self with.

The lock pick can't be enabled it has to be stored. They should of kept the run or fight mechanic and allowed nemesis to go down like in the original. They added very stupid new game + with a grind points where you have to do to access items in the so called store. The game doesn't feel very balanced it's not a resident evil game that I enjoy at all.

50% of the game is cut, Nemesis is able to become spider man from the clouds. Hardcore mode auto saves.

The game feels rushed and uninspired. Nothing about this game feels like re3 for ps1. It feels like RE4 + Alien isolation + RE6 + Spider Man. If these games scream RE3 to you then something is wrong with you.

I absolutely hate this game. If this is how capcom is going to continue making games. Dude throw in the towel you suck at this point. This looks to just be capcom quickly turning RE2 remake success into quick cash and hoping nobody sees.

This really upset me and I don't think I'm going to continue playing capcom games after this title.

Do not buy this game. It has cut a lot of content from the original release. They also downgraded the zombie gore and Nemesis is just a worse version of Mr. X from REmake 2. It's a blatant cashgrab made by a B-team. It's also REALLY short. Definitely not worth full price imho.

A solid remake of an original I love.
Its biggest drawback being its length and the tacked on multiplayer I really could not care less about
However resident evil games are made to be replayed over and ver to get a better time and better rank. So I really don't mind all too much

RE3 retains most of it's core gameplay from RE2, but it's problem isn't the runtime (believe me as a huge chicken I can make a 5 hour game turn into 20), but how little it adds, the biggest and only new feature added is the evade option which could’ve easily been added to RE2, and Nemesis is a bit of a letdown. Unlike Mr. X who would show up out of nowhere at any time, Nemesis's encounters are scripted, I mean there still epic, but they don't feel as surprising as Mr. X's. Overall, I feel like this game should've been DLC to RE2 the same way Uncharted The Lost Legacy was to A Thief's End, maybe if Capcom decided to release the game next year so that they can have some more time to add features, then the game would've blown RE2 out of the water. The map in this game is lazily designed in this game. It is so linear, to the point that it breaks immersion. The story is terrible and poorly written. The characters are very cringeworthy and the voice acting is atrocious. The developers were too lazy to design puzzles. The AI is incredibly stupid in this game. There are no scenarios.

I complained about the lack of multiplayer in RE2 remake, and it's good to see the developers actually listened to my complaints. It's too bad that the multiplayer is garbage in this game. There is only 1 game mode and it is a 4v1 survival mode. The map is too small for a third person shooter. It doesn't help that the player movement and aiming is trash, making this mode tedious. Usually you would expect the multiplayer to be downgraded to help the game run better, but it is the other way around in this game. The multiplayer has better physics and gore than the singleplayer. This goes to show that the singleplayer team is lazy and the production team is horrible. I only recommend this game if it is $5 or less.

Toxic fans make the most annoying criticisms. This game is great and totally worth your time and money. Sure, it's more different from its original game than the RE2R was, but it still possesses many great and fun qualities. Don't let the naysayers get you down. Also, to everyone who said it was "too short," the original was incredibly short too. In fact, this is longer.

After a stellar remake of an arguably the best Resident Evil game ever made, Capcom has let down our expectations by giving us a more scripted, more linear survival horror action game that will probably be forgotten like so many sequels that have gone the path of less resistance when it comes to game design. RE3 make feels more like a DLC than a full-blown game.
