    I liked it a lot, in about 6 hours I completed the game in normal mode with all the locks open with the pick, I have explored the entire map without leaving anything. The story is good even a little better and more interesting than RE 2. The gameplay is the same but it incorporates the dodge, something that comes in handy in dangerous situations and the fighting is very frenzy with the bosses.

    To start with a clean slate: I know content was cut, but I never played the original so my opinion is based on what I got. Second I bought it on a sale for 20 bucks. I personally think this game deserves a 9 or 10 in terms of presentation and atmosphere. It is a really intense presentation and for me one of the best in terms of action horror.

Second I bought it on a sale for 20 bucks. I personally think this game deserves a 9 or 10 in terms of presentation and atmosphere. It is a really intense presentation and for me one of the best in terms of action horror.

    The tech engine is good, I had no fps downs, no bugs, no bluescreen on my PS5. Loading times, saves, area changes are flawless and it deserves a 10 for this. The sound design is perfect and also contributes greatly to surround systems.

    Now for the let downs: Considering they used many assets from RE2:R and the poor game length the game deserves a downgrade in the score. I waited until the recent sale drop because I knew about this but for people not knowing about it, this is a big greed catcher. I played very defensive, got all areas cleaned, did it slow, tried to save ressources and it took me 6hrs on standard difficulty. If I knew I had so much ammo probably I could ve done it easily in 5hrs or less.

    Summary: RE3:R is a great game with perfect presentation in terms of visuals and sound design.The atmosphere is outstanding. Considering the game length, price, re-used assets and to an extinct the cut content it can be recommended but ONLY for at least a price drop of 50-60%. Everything else I would considera rip-off. Besides that it is an amazing experience and absolutely worth it.    … Expand

    I give it 8 just to raise the average a bit, it's still a very narrow 8. Unfortunately his longevity, he casts a title that could very well have been a 10. The real score for me was 7.7.

Unfortunately Capcom decided to charge full price for this game despite it being an experience that only lasts a few hours. If this game was released not as a full price standalone game but a $30 DLC for RE2 I would be much more likely to recommend it, but unfortunately I cannot based on theseThis game is a really fun experience. Redeeming qualities include the thoughtful way in which the evolution of the Nemesis occurred and the almost seamless integration of cutscenes into gameplay which made for exciting moments in the story (which was somewhat bland). I would not recommend paying full price for this game, but if you can get it at a discount it is worth it.… Expand

The new dodge move is a fun additional mechanic but it does take the game away from survival horror towards an action game which some may not enjoy. The latter areas in RE3 are either really small or linear hallways with a few branching hallways. While RE2Resident evil 3 starts off brightly with it's opening area highlighting all the strengths of peak Re2 but quickly falls off after that. The new dodge move is a fun additional mechanic but it does take the game away from survival horror towards an action game which some may not enjoy. The latter areas in RE3 are either really small or linear hallways with a few branching hallways. While RE2 was built around one main area RE3 takes you all over Racoon city and the quality of the game suffers for it as no area is truly big enough to capture the magic of RE2 minus the first area. Nemesis the Mr X stand in makes the box art but it clearly shows a misunderstanding on what made Mr X so great. Mr X was used only a handful of times so every time he showed up he was imposing and each foot step could make you shudder. Nemesis on the other hand feels like he's in half the game and while early encounters are tense by the end you will be sick of his ugly mug. What aids that is some encounters are far to easy dissipating the tension that Mr X created so well. Jill is an enjoyable protagonist and the supporting cast all fulfill their roles diligently but there are no stand outs. The length has come under fire as while it is about as long as an RE2 campaign there are 4 in Re2 compared to the one here. There are no bonus missions present here either. Overall RE3 is a game worth playing but is disappointing due to how great it starts and how averagely it ends.… Expand

    It's a great reimagining and an excellent game, but definitely not a remake. I paid full price for it and still don't regret it. I would describe the gameplay as a mixture of Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 4. It's more "on-rails" feeling than Resident Evil 2 Remake. Visually, the game is beautiful.

    The story is decent and the gameplay is good. However it sucks that they cut a few things out for whatever reason and that ultimately made the game shorter. It also gets a little repetitive at the end. Overall, it's sort of a lackluster experience and the game isn't worth full price because it feels more like an expansion for RE2, I recommend that you buy the game when it's on sale.

    The game is not bad, but they took the best cut scene from the original RE3 and puzzle this game is very easy. the graphics of the game is incredible and the characters too, but the RE2 remake lacked the affection

    After playing the original, I bought this remake and I really enjoyed it so much. It is a new game with the same characters (they added 1 more) and some locations of the original. The gameplay improved a lot and makes the game more intense and dynamic. It's a more action paced resident evil with touches of exploration. As a Resident for me it still a very delightful experience. I also miss some puzzles like the ones on the st Michael Clock tower, but not everything is bad. They included epic boss fights with nemesis that they are really enjoyable (better in Hardcore mode). They did an amazing job with the atmosphere, it's way more noticeable in this game because is the start of the infection, also the story has more drama and the characters fit perfectly in the game. I didn't talk about graphics, they are not important, but they are stunning. I love the ps1 classic and also this remake. both different and with different advantages and disadvantages. I have to comment my opinion about duration... The normal duration of a classic resident evil... 5h - 6h with a good pace exploring all, and if you are new and it is difficult for you 8h or more. RE7 is shorter, and worse in some aspects (i like so much re7, just commenting) People don't be toxic, I have to rate this game as a game. Giving 0 TO EVERY GAME is not helpful for people that are going to pay money for the game. Before buy read and investigate.

    Like many of you, I have played the original game, and I have been a long time fan of the franchise and though it is true I would have LOVED to see more content like a Mercenaries mode after you finish or more unlockable content, but let's be real...this is a great game. Jill is as awesome and well acted as ever and her design is top notch. The Nemesis encounters always vary as he is constantly evolving throughout the game and learns from each time you manage to defeat him. The character of Carlos is much better and a lot more complex and likeable as well than it was in the 1999 game.
    So I understand that some old-school fans wanted more puzzles and a longer campaign with less action but this is 2020, games are a lot faster paced these days and linear acton titles are more cinematic than ever with the spectacular visuals. And the game sales prove they were right as this remake is selling more copies for Capcom than any of ther titles before. Sure the second game's flawless remake has a lot to do with it as well, but if you're a fan of the series and Jill, you should like this game! Maybe wait for a price drop, but you should have a great time!    … Expand

    Okay I’ll just express that I have not played the game yet and will update this review a later date. Cause from what I seen 1 it’s short so I rather pay like 15 for it and 2 I can never respect lazy and cut content in any remakes. But till I actually play it I will update this but from what I scene it will most likely get lowered from this 5

    I think the game really finds it's footing once you leave the downtown area. That's when you get the "what's around the next corner" feeling. I'm a fan of Jill, but surprisingly, I found the Carlos segments to be my favorite parts of the game.
    People complain about the short playtime, but i think it's just about right. Some games are so long these days. It's nice to play a game with a fully satisfying and complete story that doesn't require such a time commitment. But I get people being upset with the full $60 pricetag - which is why I waited for the sale. I can't comment on the multi player addition, but I don't really care to play it.
    If they can keep this kind of quality going, I can't even fathom how good the RE4 remake will be. Let's just keep our fingers crossed.    … Expand

    This game has a Resident Evil 4 feeling, which is my favorite of the RE franchise.
    Of course, people was specting something more like Resident Evil 2 Remake, and get frustrated. But, if you like Resident Evil, you must play this game.

This game lost all of the exploration factor that added dynamism to the gameplay of the game, much of the game are cutscenes that are no longer exciting after a first or second gameplay, classic enemies have been removed, striking and interesting stretches have been removed from the game as well as Clock Tower and the cemetery. Raccoon Uptown and Downtown have been drastically reduced to a linear route of gameplay that have taken a good time exploring the city. The gameplay and graphics of the game are great but not enough to make up for the plot changes.

    The game is way better than RE2 remake, unlike RE2 difficulty is very balanced in RE3, you couldn't find any ammo (even on standard difficulty) in RE2, MR.X was so annoying in RE2 and would chase you everywhere. But nemesis is very balanced and its only in some specificed locations, gun play is way more better than RE2, graphics are way better than Re2.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As a fan of the resident evil franchise since game one I say this with a heavy heart, the Resident Evil 3 "Re-imagination" falls short. Lets begin by saying if you expect the game kind of changes RE2R made you RE2 you're going to have a bad time. This time they didn't just remove a few enemies and shorten levels. They removed over half the game content such as the clock tower, water treatment plant, and the park. What they did keep was critically reduced to either a few city blocks like down nostalgia corner, or a dynamic cinematic like uptown or the final boss nemesis. They also replaced Jills nostalgic return to RPD with a slapped together speed run of a few rooms with Carlos. Reduced the umbrella factory to a fee few seconds of nest re skined. Gave you a wolf boss fight re skinned with nemesis hound not just once but twice as the only only other boss fight of the game. And for some reason added a power station section that focuses on impregnating Jill via graphic oral technical rape... Legitimate not a joke. A side from this you get to pay full price for a half rendered side demo made from scrap environments left over from RE2R jammed together to allow your avatar to fumble through. With out any side missions or B play through to add replay value this extended cutscene will disappoint you for $1 every minute of actual game play if you buy it on sale.… Expand

    Resident Evil 3 has moments that shine. The main flaws of the game are its length and replayability factor. Definitely a step down from the Resident Evil 2 remake. It would be worth purchasing on sale, unless capcom decides to add dlc content to beef up the length.

    This game was fun to play. The story, characters and environment were all awesome but its easy to tell the game was rushed. Even the fantastic gore from Resident Evil 2 Remake was removed? I enjoyed this game a lot but it had opportunity to be so much more than what it was. Fortunately i had a lot of fun with it, but for a $60 game its disappointing compared to Re2. 84/100

    I really don't like the nemesis, for me it really break the spooky ambiance.

    The scary factor of RE2 remake is completely lost and I don't remember the original RE3 to be that weak in term of suspense.

    Very disappointing remake. Game is riddled with cutscenes and very linear level designs. Can be completed in under 3 hours and has very little replay value. While it indeed looks visually impressive, this pales in comparison to resident evil 1 and 2s remake. Grab it on sale if you're desperate to play it (20 bucks is how much I got it for)

    Unfortunatelly, Resident Evil 3 is very short. However, it is fun to play. I was never a fan of RE games, but I played the original on PS1 and it was much better than the remake, with more puzzles, better stories, more levels, etc. Even other characters, like Dario, had better moments.
    It's sad what Capcom did with that game, because it should have been so much better.

    Technically superb, robust gameplay and stunning graphics.
    Game is much more action oriented thant RE2, and feels too short (specially compared to RE2).
    RE2 is the better game, but this one is fun too.

    No idea what happened but let's just say capcom got greedy and went back to making cash grabs. And this really wasn't ok. They did such a great job with re2 so this really is very sad. It's an expensive but short game with little replay.

    It looks ok but if you've played a real game like re2 or the excellent days gone. That's a flawed but a huge game with endless variety and end game content. The zombies on re3 are basically rubbish and much of the game is scripted.

    Way too much time or money was devoted to the microtransactions heavy online multiplayer rubbish. And that should upset you as one amazing game has been sacrificed for rubbish which will be canned in a year or two.

    Sound is good and gameplay fine just nothing special and it's mostly scripted events. This isn't re2remake. And they cut a fair amount out of the original game for again no good reason.

Mas a realidade triste desse jogo é que ele é claramente uma versão cortada se comparada a obra original. Repare que eu disse "cortado" e não reimaginado ou reorganizada, partes inteiras da obra original foram simplesmente retiradas do jogo por pressa, o que é inadmissível. Isso é evidente não só pela curtíssima duração do jogo mas também porque não colocaram coisas novas no lugar das antigas e não existe um trabalho bom desenvolvimento de fatores do jogo (como história, personagens, construção de terror, etc). O diferencial máximo do terceiro título da serie era essa relação de perseguido e perseguidor que a protagonista deveria ter com aquele que seria seu NEMESIS no título, mas nem a construção dessa atmosfera foi consolidada direito. Como fã da serie e consumidor não espero simplesmente um jogo feito as pressas pra ganhar o dinheiro dos fãs que depois do remake do 2 se empolgaram com a possibilidade do remake do 3, esperava que a empresa se concentrasse em desenvolver o potencial do titulo ao seu máximo, o que claramente foi trocado por um puro imediatismo de lucro que pra mim nem faz tanto sentido assim.… Expand

Ok, just finished playing RE3 remake, and i honestly feel deflated after playing this, and makes me kinda nervous for the future of re series, as if its going back down the route of re 5 and 6, catering to more new fans instead of pleasing the old fans, and bringing in the new without comprimising on content. ***** SPOILERS BEWARE*****
    1 - Severe lagging on characters running and movements, and bad or slow animations
    2 - most severely controversial one - cut content and areas, especially the RPD as it was a bit part of the original game from re2 and 3, was there for like less than 2 mins, very dissapointed to say the least, and seing marvin for like less than 1 minute, no interaction with anyone else at the rpd
    3 - no option to encounter or run away from nemesis
    4 - in some parts dialouge or character interaction can be cringy or lackluster or simply doesnt make sense - mainly later part of game with Nicolai
    5 - same enemy types used over and over in all areas of game, as well as areas, with blatant cut and paste to this game with worse results
    6 - no option for dlc for other modes - ie - mercenaries or other stand alone options for other characters like carlos or nikola as we were promised a more expanded gameplay, but it clearly wasnt
    7 - only 1 ending, was pretty poor, should have option for more than one, as never found out what happened with nicolai, as thought that would have been the more interesting ending
    8 - after you complete the main game, they want you to buy in store with god awful microtransactions that no one asked for
    If you like and agree, do us a favour post it to Capcom
    i did like parts of this game, but sadly overall, Capcom you let the original re fans down, you need to invest more in you games and your fans, or we may be lost forever!!    … Expand

Yes the beginning of the game was great the first time, but it only annoys me after repeated playthroughs, the amount of cutscenes I'm forced to skip to get to the "meat" of the gameplay doesn't feel fun.

    I am indifferent on the "feel" of the city, at times it feels alive... er undead, dead, and just really gamey.
    There are parts where they just shoved zombies outside of a fence that you cant get over there to fight them, so you just run past without a care in the world, and it's very blatantly obvious that they failed on the tension front because of that. Overall, zombie placement outside is just poorly done.

    Resistance is worthless to me, I have almost never liked any Resident Evil online mode, EXCEPT for Operation Raccoon City, and that's sad.    … Expand

    Me parece un buen juego y con muy buenos momentos. Cuando va pasando todo lo de los zombies va y llega nemesis y para mi opinion me parece un buen diseño, cada uno tiene su forma de opinar sobre el RE3 pero para mi me parece un buen juego.

    Jogo muito curto, as partes mais legais são muito rápidas e o restante é um grande corredor chato e desinteressante, o Nemesis não deixa vc com medo, ele só te assusta no Jump Scare, depois de jogar Resident Evil 2 remake (que na minha opinião é um puta acerto da Capcom) o 3 te deixa um gosto amargo no geral e querendo que essas 5 horas de gameplay tenham sido apenas um pesadelo.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After beating this game 3 times now, once on Normal, Hard, & Nightmare mode, I'd say I'm ready to review it.

    Let me first stick to my positives. Graphically this game is great, maybe even slightly better than RE2 Remake. Nemesis new design is great & more monstrous this time around. The dodge feature from the original RE3 has been improved upon greatly imo, as I never really got the hang of the dodge maneuver from the original. Character wise I liked the updates for Jill & Carlos. The Hospital section of this game is excellent from atmosphere & level design. Also the harder difficulties have good variences as far difficulty as well as enemy placements, well at least on Nightmare mode & Inferno although I haven't beat it on Inferno yet.

    Now for the negatives & unfortunately there's a lot of negatives for me.
    I'd say my biggest problem with this game is the it is that Raccoon City is too small & linear to me. The game being short isn't necessarily the issue for me as the original RE3 is short as well, although I took longer to beat it than the Remake the last time I played which was about a month ago. Now I will say it's not that the original RE3 was that big either but that doesn't mean the Remake should have been small as well, after all a great Remake like RE1 adds on to things & locations, not take away from them which goes into my next complaint.

    To many areas and things cut from the original, like not being able to create stronger ammo for instance. The cut locations from the original RE3 is The Clock Tower, The Newspaper Office, Gas Station unexplorable in Remake, Restaurant unexplorable in Remake, Downtown section is the beginning of the original RE3 & this is unexplorable as well since you can't backtrack to it. City Hall, The Park, The Graveyard & the Dead Factory as well as a few other locations are missing in this Remake. Now I know they replaced the Dead Factory with the Lab in the Remake. I personally prefered the Dead Factory for a number of reasons I won't spoil from the original.

    Next on the list is the linear structure of this game. In the original you were given these choices on if you wanted to fight Nemesis or do a certain action to get away from him. There were also other choices that didn't involve Nemesis. Also depending on where you went first certain events would come up in the way of a cutcsene. This was unique because you could envail new events that you didn't see on your first playthrough. The Remake is very linear in this regard. You aren't given any choices, & most of the time besides the beginning City area you don't have to backtrack for anything. They could have made it so the areas you go to you have to make a choice on where to go & you can't go everywhere on your first playthrough, because the point is to escape the city but you have these obstacles in the way as well as Nemesis.

    My last negative is how Nemesis was handled in this Remake. I was hoping for Nemesis to really be a prowler most of this game but he wasn't. Also there's a new character in this game that they introduce & they just kill him off right away. Also the civilians that were shown in the beginning are pointless in this. Later you get the train running but Nemesis kills the civilians & before that point you don't meet or interact with any of them. You don't find any of them in the city so it was a missed opportunity to add more stakes to the story. Also Jill not going to the Police Station is just stupid.

    I have more cons but I'm already into the review to long now.
    My verdict for RE3 Remake is it's ok but pales in comparison to the original besides some better updates in the gameplay, mainly being the dodge function.    … Expand

    Resident Evil 2 Remake was a hit in last year, but here I was also not disappointed this game. Fantastic remake survival horror with cult monster - Nemesis, which he can scare us. Capcom did a great graphics this remake, but on RE Engine looks great. I wish that there are so many cuts with comparison in classic. I was enjoying this game great and I always remember this game.

    This game is more focused on telling the story in game than giving you files and ways to get lost, so there's less backtracking, almost 0 puzzles, and the dialogues happens very often. The entire game i had a feeling that I didn't have in RESIDENT EVIL 2, the feeling of true progression. Under 2 hours of game i was in so many    RESIDENT EVIL 3 it's no masterpiece, not even its predecessor.

Under 2 hours of game i was in so many different places that the need of getting lost and doing puzzles didn't even occur to me once. The game is engagin on it's combat, characters, ambients and story enough for me to get pulled to that world. The quick time events are fine, just 2/3 of them may seen a bit "meh"
    I thought i was gonna get a pretty "Ok" game bc of the reviews but instead i got, again not a masterpiece, but a very great game in a loved franchise by me. RESIDENT EVIL 3 is a must play.    … Expand

With that in mind it's a Lil unfair for me to compare it to re2 bc I absolutely love the old version and remake of the game, but this game was more of an action horror than I wanted it to be. No complaints. It's an awesome game but It never made me scared to walk into the next room bc I knew that whatever was on the other side I'd be able to destroy, no problem, bc of the arsenal this game gives you. Combined with the dodge mechanic! THE DODGE! Talk about a life savor. Oh and did I mention the auto heal haha. Great game… Expand

    Es juego corto, te toma 4 horas y no es muy rejugable.
    Los aspectos buenos vienen del segundo juego (graficas, animaciones, jugabilidad y iluminación) no vale 60 dolares se debe comprar en 20 porque el multiplayer es un truño. Una pena

    This was hard for me to rate because it’s a good game and is enjoyable the issue is they took so much out from the original game and turned this from a horror game into a survival game instead so it lost the original spirit which is why I fought between rating it a 6 or 7.     Good game, however, a little short.

    As a game, it is great, even if it is a little short. But it lacks a few aspects of the original game.

    Even though it is a very successful game, you will feel a little disappointed. Compared to the remake of the second game, this one often loses its pace and it is impossible to get rid of the impression that there could and should have been more to this game. [Issue#303]

    After a stellar remake of an arguably the best Resident Evil game ever made, Capcom has let down our expectations by giving us a more scripted, more linear survival horror action game that will probably be forgotten like so many sequels that have gone the path of less resistance when it comes to game design. RE3 make feels more like a DLC than a full-blown game.
