    Ratchet & Clank is simply the best exclusive PlayStation has to offer. It’s graphics and charm are unmatched by any game I’ve played in the last couple of years. Insomniac has outdone themselves and brought back one of the most beloved PlayStation icons. This game is a masterpiece and a must play for all PS4 owners.

    Graphics 10. Gameplay 9. Art style 9. Reminds me of my youth. Its funny. Has around a 8 hour campaign and can be replayed to unlock guns and weapons. Truly unique. I just clocked Titanfall 2 and this game is better.

    What a surprise!

    Got it with the psn plus and love it so far! This game is really fun, fun story and characters, really easy gameplay and various different gameplay areas! Graphics are good, each planet offers you a different landscape. Music is very good also. One of my favorite game for this 2018 year :) Thank you for that The only thing I disliked is the trophies because    What a surprise!

    This is such a refreshing reboot/remake of one of my all time favourite games. Amazing graphics, smooth gameplay and a great storyline. I haven't enjoyed a game this much in a long time.

    Got this game free on PS plus a while ago and i just recently downloaded it an started playing it, and freaking enjoy it, i did the story 3 times and got the platinum trophy, i finished this game under 2 days ( 12 hours each day) and still want to keep playing because this game is pretty fun.

    My first ratchet & clank game and all i could say is that i love it. I regret not playing the PS2 and PS3 ones back in the day.

    The game is just fun. The equivalent of Hack & Slash but with guns.

    It is funny also, entertainment for all ages.

    Just buy it on sale, totally worth it

    I really can't say a bad thing about this game, it's so good.

    The gameplay is really fun to play, it felt so fluid and enjoyable. Ratchet doesn't just have is wrench but a whole arsenal of weaponry with each being different from the other. There is literally a grenade that makes every enemy dance, and it's hilarious throwing it at the bosses. There is even a trophy to make every enemy    I really can't say a bad thing about this game, it's so good.

There is literally a grenade that makes every enemy dance, and it's hilarious throwing it at the bosses. There is even a trophy to make every enemy dance, maybe I should attempt it. Every weapon is so much fun that I end up using nearly all of them in every battle, and there are a lot of weapons to choose from. The guns can then be upgraded and it's a really cool system. Upgrade them enough and they will receive upgrades like being able to shoot more than one bullet type at once etc. Apart from weapons there are a lot of other gameplay mechanics that make it just fun to move around, You can jetpack around, use a hoverboard or even grind a rail. When shooting it's also important to make sure you're dodging every bullet you can, and Ratchet looks great while doing so. Double tap cross and Ratchet will be doing somersaults over the bullets while you keep your eye on the enemy. The enemies are all really cool and unique in their own way. Some guns are better for specific enemies so the game is always making you swap out your gun for another, which purposely makes it fluid and fun.

    The story was very interesting with it tying in with the movie. To tie with the film the game feels like you're inside an animated film controlling the characters. Honestly, I didn't think I'd enjoy this but it's actually really interesting. The characters are really interesting and the great animation makes them feel so real. Ratchet and Clank are probably now my favourite duo, with me relating to Clank so much. They're both really enjoyable to be with and I can't wait to go on another adventure with them. The next game isn't going to have an animated film so I'm interested how they approach it, hopefully they keep the really good animated cutscenes.

    The graphics were so beautiful and stunning, that everywhere you look it makes you take a breath. Every world you visit has something going on everywhere and makes it feel so lively. Even playing on a base PS4 everything looked really good, and I can't wait to see it all on PS5 with the next game including ray tracing. You wouldn't think a game like this could look so beautiful but it really is. Every world you visit is different to the other and all of them are so fun to explore because of the beauty.

    To conclude, this is a must play game that you can't miss. Right now it's going really cheap so you have no excuse to not play it. I can't wait to play the new game, just need to get a PS5 from the depths of the universe.    … Expand

    Being a ratchet and clank fan since the very first game i was hype a new ratchet and clank game was coming on the ps4 wished it was a sequel and not a reboot but it was still enjoyable same ratchet and clank i enjoyed as a kid.

    A really nice jump n run adventure which makes a lot of fun, looks beautiful and has a cinematic story. On PS5 it runs at 60 fps thanks to an update. All in all a must-have for Playstation fans.

    Best game of the franchise. It's better than Rift Apart, because the weapons are better designed, and the gunplay and gunfield feels pretty inmersive. The kinesthetic is perfect, and the enemies put a lot of pressure on you every time on the most difficult settings. There's a lot of variety of planets. It's like something between Ratchet and Clank 1 and Ratchet and Clank Up your Arsenal.

    The only reason this game is not a full 10 is due to the fact that it is not an original concept. It's a reimagining of an existing game. The gameplay I think is a given being the history of the franchise, however the graphics in this game are probably some of the best to date.     Absolutely love this game! The graphics are stunning, the gameplay is exciting, and upgrading weapons is addictive. I found myself laughing numerous times with the great storytelling and being completely immersed in the characters and open worlds. Can't wait to give this fantastic game another run via Challenge Mode!

A collectible card system allows players, like myself, who missed the later games, most notably the PS3 era of games, to catch on those and get an idea of where the series has been recently. The only negative is the awful camera, which will cause a few deaths during everyone's play through. It's extremely frustrating and hard to control to get it right during battles and it is something that needs fixed for future installments. Still, while I thought the game was kinda short, it does have a challenge mode for players wanting to go back in and play for bolts. I enjoyed the game and, for the price point, I would say it's worth it for the amount of sheer fun you will get from this game, especially for long time fans of the series.     Could it be better? Yes, but in minor ways. I'd have liked a bit more content personally - a few more items from the original perhaps, and perhaps a bit more padding in the middle. But these are really minor niggles.

    I don't know how "fashionable" these types of character platformers are in the age of Call of Duty nonsense, but I hope as many people as possible pick up this title, as it would be a real shame to see such creative endeavour go unrewarded.

    It scores a nine for me because it's one of the finest titles available in the modern era in its' genre. If you're a fan of platformers, this game is for you.    … Expand

    Gameplay: super cool weapons with a lot of unique design and powers. Each of them have a lot of upgrade things to be more powerful and useful. Nice platform with challenges around you. Map design is very well done.     Graphic and Sound: Stunning! Art direction is amazing! Everything is well mixed with each others to create an nearly perfect "CGI" feel for it. Sound and music background is super. You will feel "awesome" when playing this game.
    Story: A story in Ratchet and Clank is enjoyable, but it still has some missing development between Ratchet and Clank. I just wish they can develop more about those 2 guys to feel they need each others, they born to be together. Because I feel the connection between them is not good enough. But still, the story is enjoyable. They just could have remade it better.

    This is a nice addition to the Ratchet and Clank series with tons of great weapons from the sheepinator to the predator launcher. This game has a fun lighthearted atmosphere with great voice acting.

    This game was the reason I bought a PS4. And I have to say, it did NOT disappoint. This game was a masterfully crafted perfect storm of old melded with new. It stayed surprisingly faithful to the original in terms of a large volume of the stage layouts, but switched up enough details to keep things interesting, both in gameplay and story. The plot has been updated to be more complex thanThis game was the reason I bought a PS4. And I have to say, it did NOT disappoint. This game was a masterfully crafted perfect storm of old melded with new. It stayed surprisingly faithful to the original in terms of a large volume of the stage layouts, but switched up enough details to keep things interesting, both in gameplay and story. The plot has been updated to be more complex than the original, and switches up during the last act in a way that, while probably predictable for someone fresh, would throw off anyone who thinks they know how it will end just because they played the OG R&C. One drawback I can think of is the bloated cast, inflated by the presence of the, for the most part, somewhat unnecessary Galactic Rangers. They never really do anything besides keep the player company during stages, and this alone takes away from the "Ratchet & Clank vs. the Galaxy" feeling that was captured so well in the original and subsequent titles like Going Commando and Tools of Destruction. However, that is just a personal complaint, though it, along with the restructuring of the plot, can be attributed to why the game doesn't have as many locations as the original, and therefore is not as long. While this game does not reach the same peak of the series that A Crack in Time did, it is a more than welcome return to form for the franchise, and makes me eagerly await more in the future. The question is not whether or not this is a good game, but rather, "if you own a PS4, and you have not played this yet, why the hell not?"… Expand

    I have never played a Ratchet & Clank game before this and playing this makes me want to play every game in the franchise. This is by far one of my favorite games this year (2016). Story, graphics, game play, everything is on point. With all of this the one and only down side? Game length. If this game was only 1-2 hours longer I would feel satisfied.     This is a refreshing experience amongst all the generic shooters and "mature" action games. This is truly a contender for best platformer this generation, beating games such as Mario 3D world and DK tropical freeze in my opinion.

    I love the somewhat adventure experience that's been missing since the great Banjo Kazooie days. It might be my favourite in this genre since Super Mario    This is a refreshing experience amongst all the generic shooters and "mature" action games.     I would give this game a 9/10 except for two things: 1) the cutscenes have a noticeable stutter and 2) the overused, cliche' faux hero voice of Captain Qwark. I noticed that game recording is paused during cut-scenes, and its possible that these scenes are from the Ratchet & Clank movie. I have not seen the movie, so I can't say for sure. If true, I hope the movie doesn't stutter like this. The voice issue might be mine alone. I just hate that kind of voice. The other characters were delightful, especially Clank.

    Gameplay was just as brilliant as I remember these types of games. I never played Ratchet & Clank or the similar sounding Jak & Daxter, but I have played games like them. There is a nice mix of platforming and shooting that feels like Mario 64 had a child with Quake. The weapons are insanely creative and fun, especially the Groovitron. Pro tip, max out the rocket launcher weapons for boss battles. Also a pro tip, max out the boost to Raritanium drops so you can upgrade guns faster. The environments also look great, with colorful, shiny, and well drawn scenery. After finishing the game, you unlock challenge mode and can unlock even more devastating upgrades. All in all, this is the kind of reboot the world deserves.    … Expand

Story telling is childish but it is understandable since this game targets kids. However, the difficulty is not childish at all. I have been playing video games for more than 10+ years and yet I still found the game sometimesI've never expected this game to be this good !! Ratchet Clank is an amazing game in many ways.     Great game and wonderful rework to one of the best ps2 games of all time. Graphics was pixar like which was good. Hope they expand series on ps4 and pick up where they left off from crack in time.

    So what’s the horrible flaw, the wrench in the gear? That’s Ratchet himself. The biggest flaw with this game is Ratchet’s characterization. While this may seem petty, I cannot understate how much this marred my experience.
    This new Ratchet seems like he was written to be palatable to three year olds. He is friendly and good natured…but otherwise completely flat. What really gets me, he never expresses any significant fear or frustration, which can really kill the sense of visceral excitement the game otherwise generates. When I am fighting for my life against hordes of blarg, with only 20% health, and hear my gun click, the perfect thing to kill the mood is hearing Ratchet say a very non-chalant “Oh boy, out of ammo!”
    If Ratchet were an experienced super-hero, this subdued attitude might have worked, but as it is, it totally kills the sense of desperation I feel as a rookie hero blasting through an army of Blarg against the odds.    … Expand

    If you love ratchet and clank then this is a must buy. Don't see this as a HD remake, the game is completely new re-imagine of the first Ratchet game. The game is absolutely stunning to look at, looks like a pixar movie.

    I love Ratchet & Clank games and i love this remake, but really would love to see remake of R&C3 soo much more than 1. I could write same thing that everybody else, that this game has awesome graphics, great weapons, excellent gameplay but for what purpose? Just do Yourself a favour and try it out Yourself.

    Good to see a colorful game on PS4 and with an astonishing technical level. Insomniac prove their technical skill if it was necessary. If only Crash could come back to Sony and being developed by Insomniac .

    Great re-imagining to the first game. Great weapons, plenty of upgrades and collectibles. Few planets have been removed however others have been improved and made longer. Jet pack is a great editions and amazing to use in game. Highly recommended for R&C fans.

    Every planet is just the right amount of open and just the right amount of linear...
    Some just straight up platforming... while others will have you diving, grinding rails... flying with a jet pack collecting brains from giant squid aliens... or completing races for a new gadget…
    each location also has a fair amount of variety in its enemies…
    and surprisingly enemies are addictive to kill thanks to the added rpg elements..
    As you progress through the game you’ll be able to buy new guns from the bolts that enemies drop…
    and to level these guns up you have to actually use them...
    Making each gun its own character..
    giving you incentive to try weapons out..
    This is by far the best way to level up weapons I’ve ever seen in a game period..
    As you level them up you’ll also unlock slots to spend raretaniium un to boost that weapons ammo capacity... damage range... collectible drop rates... among many other things..
    No 2 weapons have the same perks…
    and in 3d platformer fashion there are collectibles in this game...
    but these collectibles aren’t filler bull crap that many open world games like to throw in for padding…
    these collectibles like the golden bolts can unlock appearance changes and cheats that don’t effect trophies…
    and hollocards that if you collect all in a set will provide a boost in bolts, cards, or rareitanium drops…
    This leads to enemy encounters never feeling like a grind..
    This leveling up and item drops leaves you wanting more encounters with even more enemies…
    And after you complete the story you can play again in challenge mode, which is essentially a new game plus…
    The only downside to the game is really the story..
    The game is hilarious in moments... but for the most part this store of unsuspected heroes trying to save all of the planets from being destroyed never kept my attention…
    it felt like background noise of the awesomely addictive gameplay...
    While the story won’t keep you glued to the chair…
    the addictive gameplay and leveling up systems will...
    I give Ratchet and Clank

    I loved the game from beginning to end. The graphics are gorgeous and gameplay is very fluent. frame rate and frame pacing is very stable. the story is funny , pretty straight forward and predictable but great nonetheless The pricing of the game was also fantastic. This is one of those games that every ps4 owner should add to his game collection.

Originally I bought it for my younger brother so that he had something to play on my console but funnily enough I ended up loving the game more than him.     A lost art brought back to life, the third person platformer. This game combines gameplay and story very well, and has an addicting upgrade system that has to do with skill, card decks, and choice. Interesting level design and incredible pacing create a great experience and a work of art.

    The Ratchet and Clank reboot is entirely entertaining and worth playing. While the story isn't quite as engaging, it still manages to bring back the spark of the originals as well as innovate enough that it holds up as its own game.

    Platform gaming has always been one of my favorites since I was a kid, and honestly they couldn't have done it better. The graphics are great, I love those open landscapes, that depth sensation... You have to follow a certain path in each world like in any other platform game, but you always have the feeling that beyond there is a huge world. The sound effects are very Ratchet & Clank, I think I can't describe it better, when I started paying it suddenly returned me to the first Ratchet & Clank I played years ago on my brother's PSP.

    The progression system is simple, you have a nice variety of weapons with their clear improvement system, you will have a blast when you get for yourself the Sheepinator... My god! How can anything be so ridiculous and funny at the same time??? xDD

    It's a game for the whole family, from the youngest to the most experienced players, but if you share the first walkthrough with someone you will enjoy it much more. In my case I played it with my girlfriend (my grilfriend played and I looked if I have to be honest here xD) and we both had a great time. She was always in love with Jak and Daxter, and this game is as similar as we have in PS4, so she enjoyed like no other.

    It certainly is a cheap game worth having in your collection, if you have in mind buying it don't think it twice, you won't be disappointed... AT ALL! :)

    This is a great game that plays like any action adventure platformer. The game is fun, the characters are lovely and story is well integrated with the gameplay. One of the things i enjoy was the funny dialogue and the music that is top notch; fantastic game.

    Despite being a huge Jak and Daxter fan back in the day, this was my first Ratchet and Clank game. I found it to be a welcome return to the classic action platforming genre. Quite frankly, a joy to experience.

    Just like every other ratchet and clank game, this is just amazing.

    There are just way too many positives to put out so I'm not going to bother.

    But it does have some flaws.

    Ratchet & Clank looks and plays as well as it ever has. Fans will enjoy the nostalgic journey through familiar planets, while newcomers will appreciate the chaotic and creative weaponry. But for the ninth game in a franchise that built its name on unique weapons, it’s a shame that the arsenal just coasts on fan-favorites. Insomniac played it safe.

    Insomniac Games did not just remake this classic platformer. They boldly bombarded it with ideas and then rebuilt it pixel by pixel using methods unknown 13 years ago. The result is magnificent. [06/2016, p.50]
