The shooting feels great, and the 'Nanotrite' super-powers that you can use feel amazing too.

RAGE 2 should not be judged harshly for it's paper thin story, because it never set out to entice you with a story to begin with. It's nothing more than an excuse to put you into different set-pieces and locations where you can shoot stuff. That being said, I always appreciate memorable characters in any form of entertainment and unfortunately for RAGE 2, it falls flat in creating any kind of interest towards the characters or the world that they live in, as a matter of fact, the original RAGE did world building much better and had many more memorable (and frankly, better looking) characters. It's incredibly disappointing and while it did not impact the game-play, the lack of any interesting characters made it very hard for me to care about the people I was supposed to be fighting to protect.

I give RAGE 2 an 7 out of 10 because it is at it's core a fantastic shooter, with combat unlike any other FPS game and has the signature 'id' seal of quality plastered all over it, but the disappointing absence of any character development and a wide-open world that's as big as an ocean but as shallow as a puddle holds this game back from being a truly memorable experience. Seeing Avalanche take part in the development of RAGE 2 was a major red flag for me and it seems like my gut was right.

RAGE 2 is a game for lovers of fast-paced FPS action. The gunplay is amazing, almost as good as DOOM (2016), and the game has a ton of things to do. Although it’s repetitive and the main story is shorter than expected, the overall package is solid. It runs at 60fps on PS4 Pro, with some minor dips. I highly recommend it if you enjoy quick combat, gore; chaos and brainlesss action.

A 10 to counter the 0-bombs. Once the 0-bombs dissapear, I'll take this review and 10 score down to it's correct score of 8. Many, many games stay without score because they don't reach the necessary 4 reviews. This makes quick valueing of a game impossible. Changes that need to be made:-
-Show the score from the get-go!
-Make a written review mandatory for scores from 9 and up and certainly from 3 and down!
Unless changes in the scoring system are made, sites like Metacritic will become untrustworthy and useless. One could certainly argue that that moment has already happened
On the game itself: why do almost all recent games ship with an open world? What's wrong with a more linear game? Uncharted was one. It was good. Doom was one. It was great. I read here people nagging on the simple or absent story and at the same time shouting themselves hoarse that the action is narrativly interupted. Sigh... game reviews, by critics or users -hey everybody's a critic for the last 6 years already- have lost all merit. Rage 2 getting 70-ish and block pixel games or walking simulators getting 90-ish just because they're "stylish"?? Doling out zero's because the kiddies bear a grudge? Or because it's all the rage (haha) to do so? Yeah, lost all merit.

It’s also not a very interesting story. Nor is the gameplay anything very engaging. Overall I was very disappointed with this game. It might look and play nice

And why ? As it turns out, this game has not been optimised for the base ps4 so there is a horrible input lag that causes a weird acceleration and buggy dead zone, making precise aiming nealy impossible, which is just unacceptable for a fast shooter like this. It made me turn on the aim assist , that's how bad it was. That is the reason alone i gave this game a 4, otherwise i would have given it a solid 7. If you love story-driven, no-gameplay, casual and pointless snot about love, tears and "Baron stories" - this masterpiece isn't for you.

Generally, this is just excellent game that actually achieve it's own aims and targets. You get infinite madness, based on flexible and smooth shooter mechanics with deep upgrade system. Skill-based gameplay and the art of destroying enemies.

    • Great amount of customization, upgrades, abilities, opportunities and skills in game. This game takes all the experiences from the best single-player shooters and does one of the best experiences for last years. I really enjoy both opening and using new abilities. Unique feeling of how "you were" and how you are now after a couple of enhancements- just gives you very satisfying feeling. It makes you research and rethink your own gameplay style, reinventing it over and over again until it comes to your ideal style.

    • Really satisfying and cozy art-direction, and vision of post-apocalyptic madness. At the same time some levels and company moments of the game are having pretty serious atmosphere, which also feels good. Plot is basic but it's actually what such games need. Characters are simple, but have unique charisma each.

    • Driving options aren't really variable, but generally took the best from Avalanche's Mad Max Experience and is a good addition to dilute infantry shooting with some death-race elements or just to effectively destroy enemies in bases, which is fun according to how unique is each machine unit by shooting, driving and abilities criterias + deep customization. Don't wait for it to become the main mechanics. It's just very satisfying addition.

    • Good controls over the hero, intuitive interface, stylish glitch effects, okay-plot that absolutely fits games aims. This game is about gameplay-fun, mad-max-like vibe and good art-direction.

    • Design of the world is also understandable. Some people believe if you made Open World - it has to be about adventure, exploring, RPG and life simulation. Well, I love this way but there's another concept. RAGE2 didn't even ever try to pretend to be like RPG-open world about exploration. Open World here plays a role of an option for you to replace load times between company missions on activities, so you could have even more shooting and driving fun, collect resources, find upgrades and do side-quests. Just to have some free-time fun still based on same shooting/driving experience. No more, no less. And if you understand open world the way it's meant to be understood - you won't really complain about it. It achieves it's aims.

I love taking over bases, find and open stuff which increases my hours of core game experience. A very good time spending between main story lines. So don't wait from open world stuff it didn't aim and promise to achieve. It's an opportunity to have some more fun for you IF YOU WISH (because no one makes you grind the world, it's optional). Maybe if you give this game a chance - sequel could potentially enhance it's open world concept into something you actually wait for. With personal quests, research, exploration and life simulation. Yet - suggested concept perfectly fits game's design.

For me Rage2 successfully achieved all goals devs actually wanted to achieve. Don't judge games for stuff it doesn't even has as a target to bring anyone

    Minuses:

    • Why didn't you give console versions more manual control options? I mean, it's 2019 year, it's time to take console shooting a bit more serious with giving more opportunities to player. Deadzone, responsive curve, acceleration etc. These options should be available for shooter-core games.

    • Game really lacks like sandbox sabotage mechanics, to wreak some chaos from the shadows. Kinda stealth but not necessary in a primitive orthodox meaning. At least something very basic. It just kinda feels generic: entering battles one way over and over again, while you can always take at least couple of enemies without warning. I don't ask for deep-stealth experience, cuz game is about different rhythm. But at least to have detection mechanics, so until being detected I could play a bit with stuff to enter the battle with prepared actions or by neutralizing key enemies, leaving secondaries around to fight traditional way.

    • IDK why so bad optimization on base PS4. I personally play on PS4 Pro. But you know, ps4 pro, xone x and cross-gen in general shouldn't even exist and your primary priority should be the base console performance. Although, effects, art and physics in the game are very good - overal graphics visually don't even try to use even 70% of base PS4 powers... At least I have 60fps on Pro... My friends have 30fps, blurry image, v-sync etc. Please, polish the game while you have time.

I want this masterpiece franchise to become popular and have sequels. And I really wish you to fix some issues AFAIK, because some people might not want to get the game because of it

The second key flaw for a game that claims to be wall to wall action is incessant Stalker and Metro style shortages of ammo. This quickly grows tiresome and robs the game of pace and enjoyment.

Lastly the feel of this game is not helped by rather bland graphics. Everything is washed out with ugly colour palettes and uninteresting environments. Indeed graphically this game feels backwards, like something you would have expected back in the early 2000's.

All in all a really bland affair that I'd lost interest in after 40 minutes or so of play.

Rage 2 it’s a fun game in the combat but it isn’t Rage 1. The story is very generic followed by 70+ years after Rage 1. Rage 2 is a colourful neon mess if your on LSD as it makes the textures way to blurry and visual bugs. And yes micro transactions are skins sadly .

The location go from beautiful to creepy but I love the fact most have containers and such to find( some get tricky to find but it adds to exploration) The characters are over the top and most make you laugh. ( in a good way) This is a FPS at heart and that is top of the mountain, guns are fast ,tight, reactive and feel awesome stopping power. If you enjoy shooting, exploration, looting and kicking butt Rage 2 is it. Again a solid 9 , I read and laugh at reviews and what they thought it should be not what we were told and is. It has been a jarring transition going from the gorgeous 'hdr faux k' detailed AAA world of Days Gone to the blurry last gen looking Rage 2 on my ps4 pro & 4k tv setup. But having played Rage 2 for around 4 hours now I can safely say the 60 fps gameplay roaming across the environment shooting my way to glorious victory has been quite fun (if overpriced somewhat). I highly recommend switching off the OST and throwing on some heavy rock tunes and stream them through media player - my enjoyment of this game increased about 300%. Overall a solid 6/10 experience.

There is no objective reason to buy this game on base consoles
    it's unplayable
ps4 pro version is fine though"

    So my info on this:

    - Yes there is a 30 fps lock on base consoles, but its stable 30 fps which nowhere hinders the game experience.
    - Input lag ? No there is no input lag, what this user must have experienced is known as AUTOAIM, nothing more nothing less, or he cant shoot, maybe..
    - Blurry Image ? It is reported that on consoles it looks a little bit washed out, but not even close to a ps3 game, typical stupid answer from people who dont know what to say.
    - Graphics from first rage. Should I even say anything about this ? If you compare both games than they are night and day, maybe some people should get their eyes checked.

"There is no objective reason to buy this game on base consoles
it's unplayable" - I also play on base ps4 and Im already at least 12 hours or more in, its more than playable and I didnt even had any framedrops.

    Also beside this:
+ Pretty good gameplay itself ( wheter it be the core gun play with all the perks or it be the racing part especially when killing convois )
+ Cool open world with distinct biomes
+ Overall a pretty cool game where you can tell that id had some part on it especially with some enemies and the guns themself.

Whole driving seems tacked on and unnecesary. Story is bland and cringy. I didn't expect much story from this but even then I was disappointed by it. It basically just took up time for no reason. Completing anything pauses the game for 5-8 seconds to show you that you received 3.50 dollars that you cant spend on anything and got 35 reputation for a guy that doesnt mean anything. Totally kills your momentum, slows the game down unnecesarily.

Tldr: The gunplay has some shining moments but the overall quality is very low and unpassionate. Stick with doom for a better shooter or with borderlands for a better madmax style open world.

In my opinion, the game isn't trying to impress you with it's graphical prowess, or it's magnificient plot. No... it's about the combat.... and the combat; It's simply great.

Rage 2 is best described as a combination of the Mad Max game and the new DOOM.
Both of which I liked, but Mad Max did admittedly lose me before I finished it because of the repetition. Didn't stop me from playing it for several days back then though.
Rage 2 hasn't lost me and I'm about to finish the story after 3 days of playing.

This has been one of those games that have had me playing for so long I've been starving, since I've been too excited to keep on killing things to even go make dinner. It's also one of those games that I deliberately kept in the dark about. I tried to watch "just enough" to know if I'd dig it and the style of the combat and the few short trailers made me decide to have a go at it.
Going in with very little expectations and hype - and nothing "spoiled", I've been thoroughly entertained for probably around 20+ hours now.

I've seen some people mention they've passed the story in 7 hours or so and it makes me wonder if they even got the abilities, found the Arks and got the amazing tools of destruction that make me so eager to run from one task to another, just to get into combat again. The urge to try and mix up everything I have in my arsenal in an even more satisfying way than before is a very big factor in this game. To me, that enthusiasm about having fun with the combat itself completely negates "repetition" when it comes to the copious amounts of sideactivities. I'm glad there's alot of it and I'm not trying to obsessively accept every "quest" either. I've just gone with the flow and it has been fantastic. Some people also say the world is dead and lifeless while simultaneously complaining about the repetition... well.. as I've indeed "gone with the flow" so much, I think there's very little dull moments in the world. There's usually always something that can grab your attention and pull you towards the next mayhem.

I think I've now saved my game just before the very last story mission. I lack one Ark ability (no idea where that Ark is), but otherwise I'm good to go. When the story is over, I can see myself still playing for a good 10 hours atleast, if not more just because I just enjoy the gameplay itself.

I have had a few bugs - one with the HUD disappearing when I record a clip with the "Share" button, but it re-appears when I just open my weapon menu and fixes itself. Also a few audio issues where an audio clip is "left on" when it shouldn't have. This has required a save and a reload to fix. But they haven't been really bothersome at all.

This isn't a game that's taking itself seriously.. at one part the protagonist you control even makes fun of the questing system, how he/she "just so happens to be the only one who can do" that particular next thing that's the problem. It knows it's just a game, but it gives you tons to have fun with.

I'm... honestly weirded out how bad this game has been reviewed. Maybe it's just a difference of opinion then... or maybe people expected something else entirely. Or maybe because I haven't really played a first person shooter in a good while (DOOM was the previous one I think, when it came out), I'm really enjoying it. But if you're looking for a very decently "GOOD" game for the sheer purpose of action filled combat and aren't looking for a story - I would recommend checking the game out.

Now, I will add that this isn't one of the exceptionally fantastic games that we get every now and then. But a VERY decent in-between game if this type of game is your "cup of tea".

(Also: There are 71 User reviews that give this game a 0/10 while mentioning one or two reasons... Some gamers are making this whole industry infuriating sometimes. Cut the drama folks, you exaggerate more than my grandmother.)

The skills are balanced you have a very good amount of satisfying skills each skills can be level up and upgraded 4-5 times. You got other skills you unlock when you meet characters in story mission. Eight gun upgradable 4-5 times with different perks AND you can upgrade your véhicule too and you got plenty of véhicule. Shooting mecanic are on top of the game the gore system is impressive you can cut head or leg of your ennemy with yiur wingstick oh and you can upgrade that too and so your grenade. There's approximately more than 100 things upgradable in this game. Bullet impact wow only problem controller vibration is to weak and unfortunately we can't change that anywere. For a shooter like that a hood feeling on the controller is a must I hope they will make an upgrade for that.

Content mission exploration you got differenr ennemy camp " arche " " sentinelle " sorry don't know the word in english and many other place you can explore. Im not far in the game right now butI do hope we gonna have a better ennemy variety cuz for now its always the same.

Driving is fun really but could have been better ...

Story look better than the first thatus great even if I didn't expected a great story im not disappointed by it.

Graphic are great some things like tree are disgusting but by example ennemy at the beginning of the game those monster were very impressive texture were very good and more beautiful than any game in 2019 right now some aspect are top notch other like by example trees are ugly overall its beautiful.

Frame rate for pspro 60 fps wow thank you. Sad for base consoles owner.

Overall its a very good game that i have a fun like i never had for a long time for an action shooter. Im.ok with reviewers most of the time not everytime but most of the time but 76 its weak it deserves at least a 85. Despite is flaws every game have flaws the action is very near perfection graphic are good overall exploration could be a little bit better but still good upgrading skills weapons etc is near perfection so this game should had a 85. My personnal score its 90 because it was suppose to be an huge action shooter in an open world and they deliver it the best way they could have done. I rated a 10 just to try to level up the note cuz troll putting 0 because because of input lag ( nothing close to have an input lag ) graphic of the first rage ? Goddamn it its a mile better new generations new engine first rage look like **** compared to this so troll puting ridiculous reviews get offf the internet please.

And for people who talking about blurry image im sad for you as for myself I had absolutely NOTHING like that. Graphic 70% on what the console can do thats a little bit severe its not the most beautiful game so far but it is beautiful for a recent game and more beautiful than many AAA game especially the ennemies and boss very impressive.

Last thing, sorry for my bad english its not my primary langage but I prefered to write in english to be able to join more people.

As a fan of ID Software since the 90s (and a fan of open world shooters like Borderlands 2 and Far Cry, aswell as the first Rage) I think this is a very good game.

The shooting mechanics are as awesome as they can be today and the enemies are relentles and brutal. The game is (in my opinion) too easy on medium dificulty, but if you play it on hard or nightmare it would be a great and frenetic experience. There is always a new power, weapon, upgrade to reach and you never stop to improve, becoming more and more brutal each time.

The story is maybe a bit too short (8 misions). But the 4 I have done so far were long awesome and brutal at the same time. Its not a complex story... but you shouldn´t be expecting that from an ID Software game right :) ?

Graphics and music are ok. Nothing revolutionary but not bad either. In PS4 Pro the game runs at 60 fps like 95% of the time (and when it drops looks still above 30) and excepting one major graphic issue on the prologue, 0 bugs. Textures should improve (like in the first Rage) but apart from that... pretty polished game. And about the music... it just fulfills what you can expect about a postapocaliptic enviroment.

The open world (as such)... AWESOME. You have 12 types of diferent acitivities (like bandits lairs, mutant bosses and such) but each one of them has its own lore and personality ensuring you dont see the same place twice. The driving feels great and the convoy chasing is quite nice.
    Major problems on the game:
    - No good secondary missions. While you have (as I said) a pretty good open world with lore and meaning... you have no big missions apart from the main story. They should have translated that lore into missiones and subplots but they didnt. The closest you get to this is NPC sending you to locations on the map you can do on your own (ok, dialogues, backstory... but not a real mission). If not for this, this game would be a MASTERPIECE.
    - Not enough driving challenges. In Rage you have dozens of races and vehicle arenas. In rage 2 you got 1 circuit, the conboys and the possibility of randomly encountering a pilot in the wasteland and compete against it. Maybe Im missing something in that part... but after exploring (overviewing) like 75% on the maps there seem to be no other circuits.

I would rate it a 75/100 (and it would be a 10 without those 2 failures). I rate it a 10 to counter the undeserved hate it has received.

PD: Also miss the first rage card game T_T

There are 6 main missions before you can go fight the last boss, and the rest are side missions (ie go her clear this, or go there an collect that), You can skip them all and finish the game without any extra guns or powers if you want, so there's a chance a player won't see all there is to see during their play through. The story was not engaging at all. The open world is just a series of connected roads with very little open areas so that is also disappointing. I can't recommend this game at all. Expand

I have put over 40 hours into this game and have really enjoyed it. However, I encountered a very common and we'll known game breaking bug. I believe to avoid this bug (this is spoiler free), you will be doing missions for 3 people, make sure you do the missions for the doctor first and make sure you DOI have put over 40 hours into this game and have really enjoyed it. This should avoid activating the bug. This bug has been known for over a year and the developers have not fixed it. I think it is fair to give a game that is impossible to complete, a 0, as it is essentially an unfinished product. If this bug gets patched, I will update my review and easily give it a 7 or 8.

    PROS:
    -Gunplay is fantastic and smooth.
-Stringing together abilities is a blast.
-Vehicle combat is fun and car animations and sounds are great.
-Multiple skill trees that are fun to dive into and upgrade.
    -NPC dialogue is hilarious.
-Framerate seems somewhat steady and consistent.

    CONS:
    -Game breaking bugs.
    -Extremely laggy menu.
    -HUD sometimes disappears.
-Purchasing DLC could be more streamlined.
-Flying the Icarus is somewhat wonky.
-Sprinting cuts out over tiny debris and very short drops.

First off, rage 2 is probably more like an 8.5/10, but I had to try and balance out all the crazy hate being spread about it. Go watch ACG review it on YouTube for some great detailed points. That aside, I played it on PS4 Pro and don't agree with the people saying the visuals are bad. I would love Rage 2 to be able to get 4K on the PS4 Pro but as of now that's just not the deal.
Moving on, the gameplay is so much fun and is clearly the star of this game! The guns, equipment and abilities allow for so many ways to destroy your enemies. I found myself always chasing the next upgrade or power. There is SO MUCH to upgrade here it can be overwhelming at first, but once you decide on your favorites you can pretty quickly become an ultimate killing machine. The game knows you want to be powerful and it doesn't stop you from getting there however you want. When you do die, it's simple to rethink your approach and use a completely different set of guns and powers to correct your mistake.
One thing I loved, and maybe not everybody will, is that you can carry everything at all times! You don't have to worry about what should I equip and what should I leave at a base, it's ALL with you ALL the time and is easy to switch between.
I didn't expect a ground breaking story (it definitely is not one), but that's not why I wanted Rage 2. This game is about the freedom to play how you want and is great whether you pick it up for a 5 minute fix or a 5 hour session.
Don't listen to the negativity about Rage 2, it's a blast to play and my only gripe this far is that I wish they had given me the option to experience it all in 4K on my PS4 Pro.
Again, I say 8.5/10, losing a bit for the lack of 4K in a generation where it has become standard.

Whereas Wolfenstein and Doom combine good shooting with high production values, great music, great graphics, and coherent art direction to make fun and immersive experiences, Rage 2 does not. To be direct, I've never felt more terrible about spending $60 on a game in my life. My five hours with the game gave me a sinking feeling in my stomach. I felt cheated. This was a rush job that needed more attention to the elements of game design that we expect from a single-player game selling for $60 in 2019.

    My chief complaints:

    1. The production values are terrible, and the game simply fails to maintain immersion. Graphics and voice acting are last generation, if that. The game is obviously unfinished and any exploration of the world yields the same character model over and over again. Their voices don't sync. It takes every character forever to say anything, which completely ruins any momentum or excitement you might feel about playing the game. The end result is a world that doesn't seem to fit together. Areas are arbitrarily placed here and there, but they don't seem to coalesce into a feeling of a world. This is terrible for a modern open-world game. I just felt like the discrete combat scenarios, while exciting from time to time, did not fit together. The result was a feeling of being a game-tester, trying to have fun on the developer's unfinished product.
    2. The menu doesn't work (terrible lag when browsing through and interacting with it) and it does not explain itself. The developers just tacked more and more pages onto it and never revisited it to make it navigable. It's also ugly with no design or reason to it except that there be a lot of pages that take forever to get to.
    3. In-game "tutorials" are obvious transplants from the testing phase, which add to the feeling that I paid full price to playtest and give my impression of an amateur's attempt at game design. This was simply not the intended end result and it shows.
    4. Music lacks a coherent style and does not add atmosphere to the game's areas.
    5. Driving adds little apart from having to drive somewhere.

My takeaway: The lack of polish simply made me feel sad. Especially after playing Doom right before picking this up. It's such a shame because this could have been a great game with another year or so of work. The 4 score is credit to the engaging and fun shooting. More care for the other elements of the experience would deserve at least a 7. I thought the downsides wouldn't bother me because I love id shooters, but the quality of life issues and the lack of an inviting presentation really got in the way of my experience. The drab characters and meaningless world sapped the fun I expected to have and made me return to Wolfenstein and Doom which offer more comprehensive experiences. I thought I could fill in the blanks for rage 2 and use my imagination to build on the combat and make the game fun on my own, but this game is just not a complete package. Traded it in for $32 gamestop credit and won't look back. I'm relieved I didn't lose more money on this.

I'll just point out the worst offenders:

-Every enemy in the game is basically the same enemy, approached in the same way. There is never any reason to think about what you're doing, or change your playstyle.

-The game is pitifully easy. It's basically impossible to die unless you decide to stand completely still and not attack the enemies.

-The map is mostly empty space, and what little content exists is just carbon copies of the same handful of encounters.

-There is a ton of terribly written dialogue that gets thrown at you. The story goes beyond boring and straight into terrible. Thankfully there is a skip option for everything.

-The driving is unbelievably clunky, and you need to do a lot of it traversing the empty map.

-The game is constantly inundating you with terribly voice acted dialogue. Every time you walk into a place you get one of the same 3 or 4 terrible voice lines that you've heard dozens of times from characters you've been given no reason care about telling you something you already knew or that is entirely irrelevant.

I'm now around three quarters of the way through this game and while it is repetitive with the activities, the way I can go about them is plentiful enough to keep my interest. This game feels like Mad Max's younger and more immature sibling, and I don't think I'd have enjoyed this as much if it took itself as seriously as Mad Max. The title is accurate, I can go around releasing pent-up aggression by being overpowering on random baddies. There are plenty of games that are story-driven, miserable, woe-is-me tales so it is a breath of fresh air to have a single player game that's just a bit of a laugh. I've enjoyed this game so much that I've made an account just to review it. I feel this game has a bad rep because it isn't aiming for the drama and political conflict in games like The Last Of Us but if we look to movies, the best ones aren't necessarily the best reviewed, Rage 2 is a little gem that I will keep playing to the end. Trust me this game is a lot of fun and there’s so much to do and a lot more coming from the devs. This game is the ****

Another game without innovation, narratively lame and also another monotone game, worth nothing

Don't fool yourself - it's not another id Software's masterpiece!
I wish RAGE 2 was an improved Rage 1 with Doom 2016 shooting, headbanging soundtrack and extraordinary characters. Now I have this bastard baby, that Mad Max and Blood Dragon made. There's list of all you should know before buying RAGE 2:

Story - Like a straight line with no twists - you see the ending just from the beginning. It took about 10 hours to complete the main story, unlocking all guns and perks, visiting all arks and devastating enormous mutants.

Shooting - You remember this feeling of synergy of protagonist and guns in Doom 2016? Forget it. Weapons in Rage 2 just make no sense - upgraded Assault Rifle is ultimate killing machine. Another guns are toys and you won't use them due to low-efficiency (also, BFG not included in standard edition, haha).

Driving - In Mad Max you could feel the difference between cars and environment. RAGE 2 has a cardbox cars in a cardboard world. All feels the same.

World and Activities - just look at another typical open world games. Uninteresting events in a flat empty world. There're not even interesting places to visit!

Soundtrack - IT HAS NO MUSIC! IT IS ALL THAT AMBIENT-LIKE NOISES MY FRIDGE MAKING! (seriously, RAGE 2 have something like main theme, that you can hear in main menu, but...)

Performance - 30 FPS lock, tons of bugs, in game menu freezing like it's 2007 and you try to run Crysis on your old PC. Don't know what else to say.

To sum up - you MAY have a bit of joy playing this, but only if you know how to entertain yourself. In other case - highly unrecommended. Even on sale. Yep, 4 point score - what it deserves.

    Overall this game is bad!

Let me first start with the only positive part of this game and that will be THE reason for most gamers to play and enjoy this game. The shooting mechanics including the upgrade & skill tree really creates some awesome gameplay (moments). And if all you want is to shoot, drive, shoot, drive & shoot, then this is probably your game. Story wise, there is

Story wise, there is absolutely no story that is interesting. The introduction of the game is just wierd and you have no clue who you are or why the hell you are doing what your're doing. The overall acting of the characters is extremely bad, including the voice-overs. The graphics are so bad on pc, you don't believe the first time you start playing. I literally, went back to the settings menu, thinking I forgot to save my video-settings, but I was all activated.

Driving your car is horribly, even after upgrading the care a bit. The missions are boring as hell, and i mean the main missions. It all comes down to go their and kill everything in a world that is empty as hell! This is just DOOM in a sandbox with additional skills like a double jump and more of that stuff. I'm glad I've not yet finished days gone, because I refunded this game.

Rage 1 was better than this second installment.

Rage 2’s nonsensical story is unbearable, and the unskippable exploration parts are mostly irritating and boring. Luckily, the shooting gameplay is so amazing that it’s easy to forgive these flaws. And while encounters can become repetitive, new weapons and abilities make sure there’s always some fun to be had.

Rage 2 is a victim of a wave of technical issues and painfully average story but still manages to be one of the most fun FPS you can encounter and can provide you with your adrenaline shot for the day if needed.

The relentless thrill of one half of it dragged down by the barren, boring needless sprawl of the other. [Issue#334, p.110]
