    The best mortal kombat in years. I cannot understand the bad reviews. Sure the microtransactions and the grinding are a little too much but the gameplay, story and graphics are amazing. It's gonna be a while until a fighting game this good is gonna be released. All hail Shao Khan!!!

    I can't play this anymore . I spent my money on this game and didn't get any satisfaction in the end . This game is one continuous fighting game in which the player acts as a punching bag . If it wasn't for that **** fatal blow, this game would be perfect . It's all good - great graphics , fascinating story , but I think this is not enough to call this game good . I have seen many times the walkthrough of this game on YouTube, when people play this game and win almost every fight , making several special moves at once .Well , for me, these people have become almost gods , because they can normally play this game even on very difficult , and I do not . I feel like some kind of fool without hands . I've been playing this **** for two months . Today I decided to put an end . I can't play this anymore . This game is certainly good for those people who have already played in the last part of the series Mortal Kombat , but certainly not for a guy like me , who first played Mortal Kombat himself . Fatalities in this game of course colorful , but it's probably the only gameplay advantage that I can call . Many people will now say that I am a noob who can't play , but believe me, I tried to learn how to do it , but it did not work just because I can't perform special attacks faster than artificial intelligence . About online, I generally keep quiet , because I know that even trying is not worth it , because I will be surely smashed to smithereens . That's the reason I'm leaving this game .It's too complicated for me .
    I don't have any particular hatred for this game . The developers really tried , developing the mechanics of the game , but it seems to me that there is a matter of taste . Someone may have liked the control in this game , but I personally do not . It's complicated. Even more annoying is the fact that some of the characters in this game are stronger and some are weaker . This creates a certain imbalance of power . This makes the game unfair . And, of course, this idiotic fatal blow . Imagine a situation where you play on a very difficult and you , like your opponent is left with a bit of the health . Here your opponent of course uses the notorious fatal blow and demolishes the remaining health of you. That's it , fiasco ! After such a knockout in the first round , there is no desire to play on .
    I said it . Someone's not gonna like my opinion . However , I openly tell you that this is my subjective opinion and it does not try to hurt anyone . I just poured out to you all the accumulated emotions for two months of incredible suffering, when I just wanted to throw this game . Now this game is boring for me , because I went through the story , went through the classic towers (at least on normal difficulty.) . I can't do more than that . I apologize to all those who read my "review" to the very end . You really wasted the best moments of your life on me .    … Expand

    These review bombs need to stop. There no pleasing everyone EVER. This game is incredible. Mechanics, gameplay, story, graphics. All top notch. Sorry you don’t get to see butt cheeks and cleavage. Sorry they’re realistically designed and dressed. I’ve been around since long before MK even started. This IS the best MK of the series. Tops MK 3 ultimate.

    Best game in the franchise and my favourite fighting game, people need to cut this game some slack. It’s not all about the **** and the microtransactions aren’t that bad anymore (they were never that bad in the first place anyway)

The story this time is really cool, but it is still a fighting game story so don't get your hopes up. The Krypt is really cool, but since it is like it's own game, it is kind of bogged down by the immense amount of grinding and exploration needed to unlock most of it. Overall, the game is a really competent fighter with some light customization elements, but bogged down with some unwise customization choices and just having micro-transactions as a choice. While they aren't necessary, they are there. Honestly, it is a good game, but it's choices for some things will turn people away. Get it if you want a good, gory fighting game, but if you're not into the fighting genre, or are not ready to sink a few hours into the story or spend several hours exploring the Krypt, this ain't the game for you.… Expand

    I was always a huge fan of mortal Kombat and I played all the games..I was hyped for mk11 and although they have changed the gameplay compared to mk11 i am finding it hard to do well. But i do enjoy it

    Writing this review makes me sad because I love the Mortal Kombat series. Sure it has a good fighting system but it's not Mortal Kombat, at least not for me.     Mortal Kombat has always been one of my favorite franchises with MK Deadly Alliance and Deception being my go to games growing up in the early 2000's.
    Netherealm studios have proven they can make a great product with MK9 and Injustice 2 coming to mind, however MK10 proved the series was taking a slight downfall with them promising to make us the fans proud of the next installment by    Mortal Kombat has always been one of my favorite franchises with MK Deadly Alliance and Deception being my go to games growing up in the early 2000's.
    Netherealm studios have proven they can make a great product with MK9 and Injustice 2 coming to mind, however MK10 proved the series was taking a slight downfall with them promising to make us the fans proud of the next installment by taking their lessons learned with Injustice 2 and improving upon the systems of that game.
    Ultimately though MK11 is a shallow shell of a fighting game with very little redeeming features. I wont go into spoilers but the story mode of this game feels more like overblown fan service rather than a MK Plot, I understand this series has ridiculous stuff in it for example MK4 as a whole although MK11 tries it's best to tie up the loose ends of the reboot series but... not once did I feel any emotion whilst playing and once the credits rolled I just shrugged and went back to getting my Platinum trophy for Sekiro.
    Another thing that has annoyed both me and the community is the inclusion of an extremely punishing "end game" which has random modifier towers that on launch were almost borderline impossible to complete, combine that with the Microtransactions and the terrible progression system and Netherealm created a recipe for disaster.
    Although one thing I can compliment this game for is the combat itself is fantastic for both newer players and series veterans like me, all the characters and their respective combos are unique and bursting with personality (even if Kotal Khan and D'Vorah are still absolute trash).
    Overall though this game was not the send off that we wanted and I would like to see a potential remake of the 3D Era as those games had some interesting stories.    … Expand

    Был случай с Эроном Блэком. Он спасибо одну и туже комбинацию при которой мой персонаж падал, анимация того как он встаёт ещё не успела закончиться, а ко мне уже опять летит тот же удар.    -2 за спаммеров -2 за донат Реально, это просто ужасно!     An incredible game.Beautiful,fluid and brutal.Gameplay,no matter your skill level is exciting and fun with the Fatalities and numerous Brutalities being over the top gross and funny as usual.The krypt was fun to explore at first and now becomes a grinding chore for gear and skins if you have some need to collect them all for some reason.Online is the best it's ever been and after 100 hoursAn incredible game.Beautiful,fluid and brutal.Gameplay,no matter your skill level is exciting and fun with the Fatalities and numerous Brutalities being over the top gross and funny as usual.The krypt was fun to explore at first and now becomes a grinding chore for gear and skins if you have some need to collect them all for some reason.Online is the best it's ever been and after 100 hours and a thousand battles,i've experienced no lag or disconnects,making the netcode the best I've seen.I've even had just 2 quitalities,which is surprising.It seems as though players just want to play and few care about their rank which is great.It took me a while to calm down over my favourite characters missing.Mileena,Shang Tsung,Ermac for example,also Cyrax and Sektor,whom seem to be playable in the future,sadly as paid dlc.Despite this,there's plenty of others to practise and play as so I'll forgive the lapse this one time NRS.… Expand

For true fans like me, who stuck with the game; the graphic are fantastic, the mechanics feel great, there's new stuff to do and the customization is awesome.     Fatality and X-Ray animations are beautiful. Combo system is better than the previous game. BUT there is 0 change in combat mechanics. Online modes are insufficient. AS A RESULT, certainly it's better than the previous game. I think players who love fighting games will be satisfied while    Story presentation is successful.     Сам я игру предзаказал еще до начала этих скандалов. Получил игру, установил и где-то первые несколько часов прошел в обучении. Хочу сказать что эта часть МК самая близко расположенная к новичкам и к тем, кто вообще никак не связан с жанром файтингов (как я). В МК10 я так и не смог научиться играть и снес его, в МК11 нужно тоже тратить много времени на обучение, но однако это теперь стало гораздо доступнее и понятнее чем когда-либо прежде.
    Стоит похвалить графику - она очень хороша. Это не некс. ген. для серии, но прогресс по сравнению с предыдущей частью серьезный. Отдельно хочется похвалить лицевую анимацию персонажей. Сюжет в игре как всегда бред полный, но разработчики тем не менее очень настойчиво над ним стараются. Кстати, кат. сцены сделаны очень кинематографично - стоит отметить. Музыка незапоминающаяся совсем. Жаль что не добавили ту самую музыку которую все ждут, но похоже какие-то проблемы с авторскими правами очевидно.
    Крипта получилась классной. Очень большой прогресс в ее совершенстве. Практически отдельная игра.
    Кастомизация персонажей впечатляющая и общая прокачка каждого элемента.
    Ну а теперь главное - по поводу тех самых камней предкновения из-за которого такой низкий рейтинг.
    1) Девушки. Да, женские персонажи максимально одеты, а некоторые из них (например Кесси Кейдж) вообще полностью скрыты одеждой и даже нет ни одного вариант скина где хоть что-то было открыто. Примечательно что мужчины по-прежнему остаются полуголыми, но девушек теперь нельзя. Отвратное лицемерие.
    2) Микротранзакции. Есть, но нужно быть дебилом чтобы заряжать. Чтобы научиться играть в МК - нужно выбрать 1-2 персонажа для себя. Соответственно и скины с акссесуарами будут интересовать только для них. Покупать для всех остальных полный дебилизм.
    3) Гринды много да. И чтобы добраться до нужного скины, нужно надеяться на бога рандома и ждать ждать.
    4) Башни времени невменямы со своими модификаторами. Нужно проходить через такие мучения чтобы получить то что тебе не нужно.
    5) Феминизация и SJW отчасти повлияли на игру. Это даже отрицать не стоит. Таково время.

    Стоит ли покупать сейчас. Я бы посоветовал подождать максимального пакета и тогда купить.    … Expand

    Mortal Kombat 11 is another solid fighting game that is comparable to Mortal Kombat X in quality. There are some issues here and there, but over it is great fun with an energetic story, gory visuals, and improved graphics.

    I love this game, one of the best fighting games I've seen in years. I don't understand why there's so much hate towards it. Sure the amount of currencies in the game are a bit ridiculous (which is why I didn't rate this a 10) but one or two features shouldn't cause people to give it an automatic 0-2, especially when it doesn't even involve the core gameplay. Overall solid game and just good fun.

    Amazing game, the best MK so far. Unfair reviews. The only thing that i didn’t liked at all is the roster, there are a few wasted characters like Erron Black or Noob Saibot (story mode). Also there are characters that should’ve been here: Shang Tsung, Reiko, Rain, Fujin.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Yes, NRS made the mistake of making the game way too Grindy to start out. But they fixed it not even a week later. Loot boxes? Quite literally none, don't understand where everyone is getting that from. Time Krystals are easy to obtain and there is basically no need to purchase them. NRS will and always fix their mistakes like they always have. Gameplay is fairly balanced with a few exceptions (Geras fatal blows are ridiculous) Every character is fairly solid in their own right, and the character designs are gorgeous. A few skins may look bad here and there but there's always different options with more on the Way. The Roster is a great combination of new skool and old skool characters. Net code is outstanding and I haven't had an issue with Lag and I'd say the online is one of the best features. Story more is solid until the ending. I'm not a huge fan of the ending just resetting the timeline for the 2nd time with so much more to explore left in the dust. But hey, maybe the new timeline will be better. Looking forward to the DLC and I'm glad I preordered the ultimate edition. Great Game.… Expand

    What an atrocity. A horrible and meager starting roster of characters, all of whom seem unfinished in each of their 3 iterations. The combat is slow and clunky and for less responsive than it was in the previous 2 installments of mortal kombat. The story mode, which boasted an 8 hour play time only lasts 2 hours. Throw pay to play micro transactions into the mix, and you have MK11

    First the bad, it's grindy, extremely grindy. Nearly everything is totally random so it becomes very difficult to farm the skin, fatality, intro etc that you want, plus the game is full to the brim with junk items like concept art and icons. You will spend a considerable amount of time running Towers using your AI fighter (so not even playing yourself) to farm currency which you'll spendFirst the bad, it's grindy, extremely grindy. Nearly everything is totally random so it becomes very difficult to farm the skin, fatality, intro etc that you want, plus the game is full to the brim with junk items like concept art and icons. You will spend a considerable amount of time running Towers using your AI fighter (so not even playing yourself) to farm currency which you'll spend in the Krypt, it takes an insane amount time to get everything and most people will quit long before then.

    As for the good, well it's a solid fighting game with great visuals, animations and audio. The core game is great, it just feels like the devs don't want you spending your time actually playing it. Online PvP has virtually no rewards, so it can feel like a waste of time doing it, even if you enjoy it and the Towers are farmed far more efficiently using AI, most of my time spent with the game is AFK doing something else while my Noob Saibot AI grinds currency for me, and that's what most people do too.

    The story mode was actually really good as far as fighting games go, probably the best actually and it'll take you a solid 6-8 hours to complete. The game doesn't suffer for a lack of content, I just feel like rewards aren't balanced around all playstyles, if you're the type of guy who only wants to play online then you're out of luck if you ever want to unlock the coolest items.    … Expand

    yeah it's right that skins don't affect the actual gameplay but, characters with no skins are so **** ugly especially grand-bastard sub-zero

    Bought the game in pre order, but can't play more than 10 minutes because of "server unavailable. Try again later". NRS and Warner say near nothing about this, and more than 2 weeks after release they don't even try to fix yet. Screw it, never buy a Nether realm studios game in pre order, also never buy a warner game in pre order! Wish I have waited for the complete edition....

    Despite that, Mortal Kombat 11 is a vast improvement over its predecessor. The gameplay is slower paced this, as the run function (which has been a staple to the series since MK3), is gone. Now you'd think that would be a bad thing, well it's not. Without the run ability, there is more room to use projectiles, space out your attack/defense, etc. This keeps the match at a good pace and not simply about a mad race to out combo each other. The new meter system works well and does a good job at letting you break free from juggles and turn a match around.

    The X-ray system has also been replaced by Fatal Blow, which is still as over the top, but it really showcases each characters powers/gadgets. Honestly, the moves are a lot less cringeworthy and more visually pleasing to watch.

    Fatalities are the goriest they've ever been and really are cool to watch from time to time. However, I really wish they'd allow players to skip fatalities in single player, as there are just so many times I can watch the character I main, perform his fatalities.

    The character roster is a bit different this time, as there are a few that were excluded from the roster. Characters like Millenna and Reptile were excluded simply because they were killed off in MKX, so I don't understand where the hate comes from in regards to the roster. All of the new characters like Geras, Kollector and Cetrion are cool additions and I really like how they fit in the roster.

    There are also a LOT of cool returning cast members like Kabal, Skarlet, Jade and Noob Saibot. Each of these characters have been given a welcomed revamp of their movelist in order to streamline weapons, powers and gadgets. All of this, and the ability to customize, your gear, intros and victories really flesh out the characters.

    As for the potatoes of the gameplay, there is a new story mode, which was really good! The story is a little hard to follow if you aren't a regular MK fan, but it is satisfying and plays out well enough to put a conclusion on the series. (Maybe?) Then there is the usual modes, like online/local fights and the revamped towers mode, known as Towers of Time.

    At this point, after playing ToT mode for around 20 hours. I really enjoyed playing them, despite some of them being very difficult to beat. The only one I've yet to finish is the online 3v1 matches, which do need a difficulty tweak. (The developer is working on it) The rest of the mode is fun and encourages you to develop a character you'll use on a regular basis or at least use to get past the harder matches. And if that doesn't help you enough, you can choose to use items or have the CPU play the match for you.

    Lastly, there is the Krypt, which has been expanded to Shang Tsung's island, which plays not only as the area to unlock new stuff, but as an island full of easter eggs and secrets. Sure, some of the chests are expense to buy with the in-game money, but if you utilize the Towers of Time and story mode, you'll be fine unlocking things.

    As for the major complaints about microtransactions, SJW costumes and grinding, I'll say a couple things. The in-game currency is pretty common and really requires you to dig deep into the Krypt exploration and ToT. The skins and fatality skip tokens are the ONLY things that are being sold for REAL MONEY and are COMPLETELY optional. Hell, each skin that is put up for sale states below that it can be accessed in the Krypt or somewhere else in-game, save for one or two that can be unlocked with the Kronika orbs (Microtrans money), which can be earned in-game as well.

    The costumes are cool looking for the females and do seem like they are made to cater to the SJW crowd. It wouldn't hurt to have the old MK3 Kitana outfits or some of the good ones from previous entries that showed some skin, but you can't get everything you want.

    MK11 is pretty awesome to play, I'd just want a damn ability to skip the fatalities on occasion.    … Expand

    Fantastic gameplay. Best visuals ever for a fighting game. Great content. Great storymode. That's Mortal Kombat 11. Probably the best fighting game ever made.
    It had its problems on the week following its release but they fixed soon enough before the hype ends. Props to Netherrealm.

    Too many time tower fights are unfair. I'd argue the most important aspect of a 1v1 fighting game is that the two fighters always start on even grounds. That is not so in MK11

    I have been playing the game for the past few days, and I have no complaints. I am not a competitive MK player and single player is quite fun. With the outstanding netcode online matches are a lot of fun. There are a gazillion ways to customize characters and other visuals. Those require to    Visceral fun.

    The fact that developers tricked you in to thinking that the game does not have loot boxes before launch, and then get you to grind and use convoluted and manipulative tactics to get even more money from you as opposed to let you enjoy the game and unlock items the usual way (by playing the game) is very concerning and outright evil.

    It is very disappointing and honestly makes me regret getting the game and wishing that I had not purchased it. I highly recommend that you avoid making the same mistake that I have, and I would urge you to wait on the game or even skip it altogether.    … Expand

    would have gave a 8 but a 10 seems necessary, the game is amazing, top notch graphics, animation, gameplay and the best tutorial to date in a fighting game. Of course it's a grind but an easy one since update there is even a solid IA if you can't make it.

Since MK9, Netherrealm studios has included an amazing story mode and along with the iconic Krypt. MK11 has elevated both those areas to a whole new level.     While the 11th installment of this series is a great return for hardcore veterans of fighting game, from the extended special moves list to the long list of combos. It also is a great for new comers to learn and have fun with a shorter list of special moves right from the pause menu, to a great story mode to learn about new characters, and classic ones and they’re past. While the roster is fantastic in this game it falls short instead of removing characters why not just expand on the roster from the last game and keep building?
    It is not all about the story mode and tower mode, the most fun I have playing this game is having my friends over and watching the grudges come out and anger between me and my friends. There is nothing more satisfying then unleashing a brutal fatality against one of them and watching all our faces cringe at graphic and skull crushing blows.

    There is nothing more adrenaline pumping then entering a fight when the score is one to one and you’re in that final round and both players are down to twenty five percent health and you land that final combo. Your holding your breath and you are just hoping that it lands just to watch your opponents body collapse to the ground like a sack of potatoes; when its all over you are sighing out of relief that you won.
    Mortal Kombat is nothing short of greatness, just when I thought we would only see one Mortal Kombat on this gen, but Ed Boon and Nether Realm studios surprise me with another installment of a series that I grew up playing.

    The guys saying its bad are upset because every skin wasn't handed to them on a silver platter and they also didn't know there's better places to see half naked women than a video game. There's been improvements to the grind and its an overall very solid game, worth every penny. Definitely not SJW trash though, if it was would they really let you do everything you can do in the game?

    2/10, Payed 100 for the premium because I've been a fan since they the first game and was really looking forward to this. Gameplay is acceptable. They took out juggling combos (only can do 1 or 2 strings of combos), slower pace, over emphasis on frame fighting etc, but that's not the problem with the game. Its a different game, just needs some getting used to. Graphics and online net-coding is probably the games strongest points. They removed a lot of great game modes like tag team and the minigames. MK9 was the best MK game. they took a step back with MKX and I thought that was acceptable. This game just jumped off the cliff. Oh, an all those people complaining about the story or the endings, political correctness or social justice warriors. Ignore those fools. Story is just whatever, not great (kinda felt like they pulled the Last Jedi stunt), but its MK. Just based on the core game. It's a 7/10.

    Now lets talk about the real problems. Its a mobile game essentially. If this game was free to play, I really wouldn't have any qualms with it. But! I payed for a full game, and everything is locked behind a paywall. It requires a ridiculous amount of gameplay to unlock just one thing. All of their previous games had no problems with this (except MKX). The grind was reasonable. The tower of time is also impossible and just not fun because its so annoying with all the modifiers that put you at a severe disadvantage. You can skip some fights but need to use a token, which you will probably have to pay for down the line. Ed boon really messed up. I lost all respect for his company and team. I don't understand what was going on in their minds to think this was remotely a good idea. Now this can all change if they remove all that unnecessary junk micro-transactions or make the grind reasonable like their previous games, and make the towers playable without all the modifiers or have it effect the opponent as well. I've never felt so betrayed by a developer before. Where this game stands right now is a 2/10. I thought EA was bad with star wars battlefront 2. Looks like netherrealm studios wanted to surpass EA.     I also do want to state that NRS has decided to go "woke" and a lot of their themes and costumes tend to reflect that. Its very unfortunate as when you try to appeal to everyone you appeal to no one.
    I really wish costumes can be unlocked with normal progression as the Towers of Time still remain a challenge that feels unbeatable at times.    … Expand

The crypt is also random, so any guide you think you might find on the internet is moot. I can't even do much because I can't access the Mortal Kombat server, and only MK11 gives me this problem. my connection is flawless on other games I play. Plus some of the character designs are weird.

    Overall I wanted to like this game, but it's just bad. I hope Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studios can learn from their mistakes here. I'm glad I got it for free and didn't pay a dime. Wait until the price gets marked down, don't pay full price.    … Expand

    There's a great customize or "kustomize" option that lets me set an AI to fight for me. I don't have as much free time as I used to but with this option I can still play while I meal prep for the week, clean the living room, do dishes, and catch up on my guilty pleasure of reading romance novels. This way I can still earn currency to unlock the randomized chests in the krypt! It's so exciting, I never know what I'm going to get! With so much to unlock, this game will last me a long time before I get everything. They're so generous! It's great that they made the game accessible to so many with this option. My AI Jade is so cool and I love watching the game play itself! I only have to step in and actually play the game every now and then. I'm making a Cetrion next, I look so much like her it's scary.

    Speaking of romance novels, the shirtless guys in this game are just dreamy. I took Jimmy to soccer practice and the other moms were so interested. I'm team Liu Kang with tattoos because I like bad boys but Karen just loooves how beefcake Geras is. I'm glad the women look like they take themselves seriously though. I'd hate to get jealous about how I looked before I had kids. Some of the costumes look like fiberglass and remind me of the cars I drove in college before I needed a minivan. I just love my Kias and even owned a Prius. Beep beep! It's 2019, more space suit fighters please!

    The story mode is super cool. I mean time travel?! Who saw that coming? I don't know if the series ever used that concept to patch up plot holes before. It's super creative and while I don't expect Mobile Kombat to be as good as my romance novels I was really surprised by character development. Could you imagine fighting an evil undead version of yourself? Talk about soul searching (calling Deepak Chopra, take notes!) How cool is it that Ronda Rousey voices Sonya? Girl Power! She says every line with the same confident voice. This game is so progressive in so many ways. It makes me happy that Jimmy can have powerful female role models like her in the spotlight.

    I'd like to thank WB and Netherrealm for finally making a Mobile Kombat that us soccer moms can enjoy. I used to think the series was too extreme, but now that I can do the cool things, I see the appeal. You've gained an entire audience with us, keep up the good work. Since you toned down the females in this game can the next one remove fatalities and gore? I'd love to be able to play this game with my son.     I love Mortal Kombat, played since the first and it was always about the fighting and the fun of it. This new one doesn't seem to have that same objective in mind. The fighting is great and so is the graphics but i think it is messing the part where you play to unlock characters instead of just buying them. Oh and there is a LOT of grinding, good luck with that.
