    This game is full of wrong names, improper spellings, microtransactions, poor development, glitches, bugs, a lack of new modes, terrible commentary, terrible graphics, terrible gameplay. There’s no physics, no height/weight that is worked into the game with its characters. It’s brutally terrible All EA cares about is money, money, money.     I've been a huge supporter of the Madden franchise and I have purchased every single game for the past 15 years but enough is enough!! EA continually refuses to listen to their community and instead of acknowledging their flaws and fix their terrible a** gameplay they decided to shun the community and double down on selling their soul for a dollar. This year, following in the footsteps of its previous installments, the game has gotten WORSE. Zero updates to franchise mode. Community requests go ignored again. Gameplay remains flawed.     I have spent well over a 1000 hours on this game over the past ten years and at this point I'm beyond fed up. Its incredible to see a franchise absolutely run straight into the ground, but over this console generation we haven't seen ANY improvements to long standing issues. Ultimate team was a great addition years ago...but it’s come down to selling packs and stuffing your pockets. The yard was a great addition this year.. but it’s so limited and their is no attention to detail when it comes to how ourI’d love to return it if I could.     Hot garbage just like the last decade of these games. Football games from 2k made in the early 2000s pay better attention to simple details like les of physics. Add on that the developers consider anyone who criticizes their trash game a “clown” and I have no interest to buy another game even if they miraculously made one that wasn’t completely worthless.

    Trash, bad game play, still glitches during kicks, player movement is boxy on defense, server still drops people mid game and gives you the lose when your PS4 is still connected to the internet. Player overall ratings need more attention.

    This year's edition is the same as madden 15 nothing has changed and i would argue it's the worst Madden NFL of all time. EA once again put too much effort into MUT (Madden Ultimate Team) and no effort into other modes such as franchise.

    Fire Sean Graddy, and anyone from EA who has ruined the game throughout the years.

    If there is no drastic redesign, animation or story mode changes this will be by far the last time I ever buy a EA NFL game.

    The game is absolutely terrible. I would say I have no how idea how a game this terrible could be approved, but then I remember it’s an ea game. They need to fix franchise mode and stop ignoring their fan base. Their game is just a pay to win and can barely be called an improvement over last year.

Franchise is the most abysmal, shallow, poorly implemented mode of ANY sports game franchise, and its not even close. The graphics are still terrible. The animations are still stiff. The atmosphere, even the basics like the sidelines, are out of ****ing 2006. The announcers and presentation, terrible. The highlight of the entire sport the superbowl? Literally the exact same animations and presentation for 4 years straight now. They may as well highlight this fact, because even stagnation would be a massive upgrade from what we have now.

    Every year i wait for this sports game to be even average within the context of peers, and it falls drastically short of that every time. Finally people are realizing en masse how pathetic EA is. I dont normally get worked up over games, but EA pays for exclusivity rights, and has a complete monopoly on the football gaming space. This piece of **** franchise is the only option. This review could be pages long, but whats even the point. I just needed to atleast add my decade long dissapointment to the list as people are finally done with this garbage.

    BTW if you still buy this game year after year, frankly, youre a clown ands crewing us all. Never has there been a more egregious example of phoning it in than Madden. Good job EA.    … Expand

    I am with the #nfldropea movement now. It has been the same game since madden 17. It has showed no improvements to franchise or superstar mode since madden 13. Ultimate would be great if it wasn’t a micro transaction based game mode. However I realize that’s an unrealistic request. It’s just that the Whole game is focused around a game mode focused around micro transactions. We missI am with the #nfldropea movement now. It has been the same game since madden 17. It’s due to a company’s laziness. I think and hope that this is the last straw. It’s an awful game. It sucks because it has such a great tradition with so many people. I spent more time playing madden with my father than doing anything else. That tradition has passed & not because we got older, but because the games are awful. It’s sad. As long as people buy it, we as gamers lose. So please play something else for now. EA preaches change when there’s riots but hasn’t changed madden in 7 years.     All they did was change the title, home page, and add some new abilities. That's it, everything else is the same. Same glitches and errors that happen every year and are never fixed. This is the first year I feel like I have just thrown 80 dollars down the drain.

Riddled with micro transactions for their half assed “Street football” mode so they can counter whatever 2K is going to produce better anyway. Franchise is a copy and paste from Madden 20,19 and 18. Except for an extra team in preseason. Uniform customization? In their new street mode, but not franchise relocation, nope. Just get 3 auxiliary uniforms to choose from. Madden 21 Coaching carousel? How can you hold the only simulation license and cannot provide any type of real simulation to your users. The only mode where you can Win a superbowl has not had a major update in 7 years!     This game is TERRIBLE. It is not a football simulation. It is "Madden Football" which is an entirely different game from NFL Football. Madden Football is compiled of things like "meta plays" or "SuperHero Abilities!"

Just give it over to 2K. We already know their arcade version of football will far better than this atrocity. I would give it a 1 or 2 because that's the kind of quality game this really is, but it's been like this for the past 5 years and we are fed up with it. If you want to play this year's franchise mode, you can seriously go back to the Madden 20 franchise mode and you will not notice a difference. And that is not a joke.     EA screwing over gamers again. Updated rosters with some new tweaks in gameplay. The 6v6 is kind of fun but this game is not worth $60. Not to mention all the bugs. Spend your money on something more worthwhile.

    Just go buy a used PS2 / Xbox / Gamecube, and buy Madden 04-08 and edit the rosters. Those games are way better. It's hilarious how bad this game is.

    If you sit down to play for 3 hours, you will get kicked off the servers several times, allowing you only 1 hour and 30 minutes of gameplay in that 3 hours, if you have good internet. Their servers are absolutely atrocious. There is no sugar coating it. Don’t even get me started on the gameplay when you finally can keep a server connection.     EA has outdone themselves yet again. Year to year I love playing squads with friends but this year they have out done themselves making it near impossible to play. For one after each game you need to recreate your lobby because for whatever reason the lobby glitches out, then if you get into a game you cant run shotgun or else your QB will bug out and not allow any user input. Madden 21 yard is childishly boring and Face Of the Franchise is basically franchise mode with a storyline why waste time with that mode when we really want Regular Franchise mode and we use are minds creativity to create storylines for our coach.     I wish this game could get negative ratings. Its just not good. It's buggier than ever. Its slow. The Franchise mode is just dead. Nobody likes it. Its just not fun anymore. Its no surprise that people are finally speaking up about how sorry this game is and I'm glad that's its trending but EA won't respond. They never do.

Even if they stopped buying the game EA wouldn't change their behaviour as they make more money on microtransaction (child gambling in the form ofadden packs) than they do from game sales themselves. And they of course being EA care about nothing else. The child pandering becomes more obvious when you look at their newest game mode "the yard". It is a ridiculous abomination of football that is so obviously an attempt to please hypebeasts that it makes simulation football players sick to their stomachs. Not that EA did a bad job on it. , Rather they clearly shifted priority to a mode that doesn't reflect what their product should be. It is supposed to be simulation football, but it's clear this arcade version should be what EA sticks to after they give up their exclusive license.     Madden NFL 21 is another blatant recycling of last year’s edition of the „simulation“ of the American football. Sadly, most of the modes remained the same. Gameplay received a few minor tweaks, and in the end it still persists as a cash grab not worth anybody’s time.

    For NFL diehards, there remains hundreds of gaming hours at your disposal in Madden 21. These same diehards – much like players of EA’s NHL and Sony’s The Show – will be left with the impression they’ve played this game before, however.
