Terrible body builds (players looks two skinny, weird knees, too big or too small helmets), Legacy warping issues, canned animations that pull players into or out of tackles regardless of momentum / physics, terrible animation for running and passing, no real character depth, NO NEW FRANCHISE ADDITIONS, just to name a few. This is what happens without competition,Where should i begin?     So many bugs. Same stale gameplay, presentation has gotten even worse. Why are there no refs on the field? This is 2020 and I’ve seen what great sports games are like (NBA 2K, MLB The Show, PGA 2K, Pro Evo).

    I'll start out by saying the yard is a fun addition to the game which warrants at least some credit. That however is the only good addition to the game, Face of the Franchise has some of the worst voice acting I've seen in video games and has a horrible linear story where you are beating teams by 100 points and winning national title games but somehow get beat for the starting position.I'll start out by saying the yard is a fun addition to the game which warrants at least some credit.     0 for 0 new additions to franchise mode. Face of the franchise is an insufficent game mode. The resources that went into making that shoud have gone into making franchise mode better than it was previously. It has been the exact game mode for atleast 4 years now. #FixMaddenFranchise

    Copy and paste of Madden 20, which is a copy and paste of 19, etc etc etc. It's so bad they didn't even bother to update some of the players ages. They hadn't even fully removed the Washington Redskins stuff. And i really really really hate the new D linemen move mechanics with the right stick.     Looks like another "Copy & Paste" this is completely unacceptable. Yesterday my cousin popped in Madden 18 and I played it with him and serioualy thought we was playing my Madden 20. We weren't! This doesn't look any different. Horrible. Im done with this game for good.

I played it trying to build my franchise and I have 11 first round picks and my team is rated higher than when I started.     A reskinned roster update that still has the same issues as madden 20. Greed has killed the madden franchise. Take the ultimate team out and rework the engine or something. Game is pathetic

    This game currently has a 1.1 user score as I’m writing this review and that score is still way to high tbh. This is a 0/10 at best. Basically Madden 20.5 with the addition of a bad game mode called the yard. They refuse to listen to their fans and every time we beg for a better game, they throw s**t in our faces. I’ve never seen a game company treat their customers so poorly.

This game needs to be more Physics based and not dependent on animations.     It’s clear that EA spent less than a day working on this game. The attention to detail is next to none, and the unbelievable lack of alterations to Franchise mode is a disgrace. Do NOT spend your money on this game.

    This is simply a shame the game of football, franchise mode is simply plain and boring. Ultimate team his just a microtransaction fest and constantly feels rigged even when winning. EA sports needs to lose the licence agreement with the NFL, but we all know that is not gonna happen. Just don't buy.

    The Yard is not bad, but it doesn’t make me want to play day in and day out. Face of the Franchise and Franchise are horrible. MUT has remained unchanged as well. If you want to have an arcade style experience, then buy the game. If not save yourself $60

    EA isn't even trying anymore. This game lacks depth, attention to detail, and fun. EA has no passion for madden anymore. Franchise mode is so out dated compared to other sports games it's a joke. We need change, and the only way to get that is to speak with our wallets and not buy this empty shell of a football game.

Every time I open twitter, Instagram, or other social media’s there are always multiple people complaining about a glitch in the game or a bug, the gameplay is also horrible. AI is atrocious and game takes away the user control and physics that they promote for animations that literally defy physics a large amount of the time. They hold a monopoly on the NFL simulation, yet refuse to make a simulation game mode. The offline game play is lagging. This is the worse I have ever seen madden. While it does feel smoother than 20, all the bugs is unforgiving to the gameplay.… Expand

    both and got bored after an hour. The Yard is just trying to compete with 2K’s game, and FOTF is just a longer and somehow more boring and more scripted than last year. Bugs that existed in the last madden made it into this one because apparently the developers just ctrl+C and ctrl+V from one year to the next. What about EA, they sell at full price, but tarnish the shield and have lost the 60 dollars a year I would spend on this franchise. They have ruined football video games far more than a fair competetive market would. TLDR: This game sucks, the devs suck, the NFL should get its head out of you know where and we should have a football simulation that is worthy of this great sport.… Expand

The new Yard mode, while nice in some respects, is still lacking major depth and is going to be just as microtransaction-ridden once it receives more updates. Madden 21 is an unabashed cash grab by EA and an extremely lazy game, even more so than other Madden games before. Heck, even the covers look lazy as all hell now. Do not buy this game if you have any Madden game after Madden 17. Otherwise, you aren't getting much...… Expand

    How does a game that gets released yearly have the same bugs as a decade ago? All they care about is the lootbox $$ nothing else. Since they have a monopoly for NFL games the only thing we can do is vote with our wallet and not buy the game.

MUT is the usual **** pay to win, the gameplay is thrash, there are no improvements to to franchise mode, Face of the Franchise is the corniest story ever and is ridiculously easy, and the yard is a buggy mess.     Game feels almost the same as last year. they still don’t listen to fans about any complaints or even attempt to look at them. an overwhelming amount of people want improvements with franchise. their improvements are minor tweaks. biggest letdown in sports gaming. 2k better get the rights back or there’s not a chance of improvement

Then there are multiple conversations that have no audio. Finally I get to the end and there is no video of my player making the HOF and the video you do get is missing the audio.     Played it since it dropped on EA Play, and preordered the deluxe version to play early, and the entire time, it’s been a broken mess. I actually got a refund through PSN because of the issues. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone in the state. It’s going to need multiple patches to even work properly, let alone be judged by it’s content.

    Unfortunately this is just a roster update for Madden NFL 20. Years of neglect for the core game mode franchise has made this an incredibly stale game game for anyone who enjoys NFL simulation football. EA should just move to two year cycles for franchise mode development and not get our hopes up.

I played through the FOF and like the other reviews on here, the story is horrible and its almost a slap in the face how they try to make it look like your choices mean something but of course they do not. It's a mess of a mode that they need to just scrap all together so they can fix franchise mode. Also like other reviews, Franchise is exactly the same as 20 as far as I can tell. I feel like I am beating a dead horse here, but EA really needs to evaluate the direction they are going with this game and either put in a better effort or just give up entirely. What this series needs is for them to skip a year or even two so they have plenty of time to fix everything that is wrong with this game. There is plenty to keep them busy for two years. Please NFL, either step in and mandate EA fix this game or open it up for other developers to take a shot at it. Competition is exactly what EA needs to get them to put actual effort into their game. I am giving this a 2 because the Yard is fun to play and I am enjoying that mode. Could have been a 5 but since they decided to make the yard another microtransaction nightmare my final rating is a 2. I think that is fair.… Expand

    Basically the same game as Madden 20, many modes were completely ignored, and they tacked in a half assed gimmick “6v6” mode which is actually ONLY 3 users vs 3 users. Some serious changes need to be made to the madden development team and the game in general.

    Madden NFL 21 is another blatant recycling of last year’s edition of the „simulation“ of the American football. Sadly, most of the modes remained the same. Gameplay received a few minor tweaks, and in the end it still persists as a cash grab not worth anybody’s time.
