    This game is complete trash! Just another EA copy and paste year! Gameplay is horrible! Franchise mode has no substance to it! The yard is a very poor version of 2k’s park! Unfortunately the NFL only cares about dollars, cuz they obviously don’t care about quality of representing the league!

    For the love of all that is holy and pure, EA needs to actually make a NEW GAME instead of just copying and pasting the previous one. It's SO obvious that they are simply copying the code and changing the players, that's basically it. The same issues are always present, meaning they are definitely copying the code and just making minor changes, any programmer or game developer can tell.     The fact that they continue to sell the same game for 60 bucks each and every year without improving anything significant on top of those atrocious microtransactions that literally everyone who doesn't have money hates just shows the greediness of the company selling this crap product.

    Here's an idea: How about we sell Star Wars with a few lines of dialogue changed each year and see if it makes money? On top of that, you have to pay an extra 5 bucks to see the lightsaber fight. Oooh, new CGI characters in the background? It's TOTALLY different!

    This is the EA Madden model. This is literally it.

    It's a shame when Madden games that came out 10-15 years ago have more complete modes than new ones do. this is a shameless copy paste of last year's game that could have just as easily been released as a patch. Don't be deceived people these are no longer sports games. these are monetization platforms poorly disguised as sports games.

    It's junk. RyanMoody21 and others in the community were right before launch, this game is busted. The glitches are horrible for this gambling simulator that pretends to be a football game. NFL should be ashamed to have their license attached to this.

This game is extremely poorly done , I am a former NFL alumni and it bothers me that this game represents the shield , so many kids will never be able to say that they played professional Football and their only experience can be through a game but Madden Nfl 21 made my EA sports does a poor representation of simulation Football and Nfl Football . The way the offensive line play’s is laughable the way the defensive ends always give up the edge is laughable, Those are offenses that Nfl Teams will Cut you for and send you home if you cannot do those basic things . The way weight doesn’t matter in Madden is ridiculous , players like Derrick Henry are Feared by defensive backs , The way all players have the ability to hit stick is so unrealistic, Dbs should wear during a game after tackling big HBs the whole game it should carry out to the next game if u had a rough game it probably should carry on to week practices or the next game ... Training Rooms is one of The most important things in the nfl and Madden doesn’t even mention or take those things in consideration. the game is just unrealistic and poorly made I would not recommend the buying of this game… Expand

    My opinion is pretty much what everybody else is saying. I grew up with the older Madden's like '08 and I could not be more disappointed with where the Madden franchise has gone. They gave up on their single player fan base. Ya know, the one that gave them so much success in the beginning! I'm done... done thinking "this is the year". I feel like a pre-2016 Cubs fan.

Just terminate the lease with the NFL and let 2k or another company make a nfl game. EA continues to show that they are the worst gaming publisher on the market.

    This game is atrocious. Same game as Madden 20, which was a bad game. Franchise mode has been the same for years. All they added was pass rush moves and the yard. This game should be a 6 max. I’m giving it a 0 because EA has ran out of excuses in my eyes. Do not buy!!!!

Qb contains still do not work.. Run game.. Especially inside runs are extremely overpowered. You can still spam the same plays consistently with no penalty from the offensive or defensive AI..     One would think that they accidentally purchased Madden 20. This game is beyond awful. I wish I still had a PS2 in order to play Madden games that were actually worth spending money on. How in the world have they not been able to port this series to the Nintendo Switch? EA has become a publisher to avoid.

I’ll be fair I don’t have much of a gripe about the gameplay itself it’s not horrible I think a patch could tone down some of the deep ball interceptions cause right now corners win 90% of jump balls which isn’t realistic (hence the term 50/50 ball) and open field tackling is hard but it might just be because I’m bad and I love the yard....the rest of this game however should be thrown in the garbage and blow into pieces. Face of the franchise is without a doubt the laziest and most poorly written “story mode” in the history of gaming, you can’t change the difficulty so I just won every game 90-30 the story itself is incoherent garbage and whoever wrote and gave it the green check of approval should probably rethink their career choice, as of today you can only be drafted by the bears unless you pick where you go which is stupid, regular franchise is the same shallow trash mode it’s been for over a decade and as a mainly franchise gamer some of the common sense things that a franchise should have have been missing and continue to be missing which begs me to ask what exactly are the developers doing during the development cycle, answer clearly nothing at all. The menus are slow and laggy and just seem poorly optimized, there’s mouthpieces in the yard but not as an accessory for players in the regular game(explain that). All the legacy issues that have been in the past 4 Maddens are still here and I just don’t understand why they can’t seem to figure this stuff out and it’s not like they don’t know. All in all I love the yard and I have an online franchise so that makes the game fun so I can’t give this game a 0 but giving it anything more than a 1 just isn’t deserved in my opinion so a 1 it is! Hopefully the next gen versions of the game will be better but I have no faith in EA to deliver anything other than a flaming turd packed in a case with Lamar Jackson’s face on it.… Expand

EA It's not like the community hasn't been bashing you for YEARS on fixing Franchise mode. Instead we get The Yard? Should call call it The Inch, because that's how deep the game mode is. I'm so tired of it.

    They reused pretty much everything from last year. The game did not launch in a good state, constant bugs, crashes, driver issues. Lots of random loading screens for no reason, terrible animations, just an overall awful game. Buy the EA Pass and test the game if you really think you want it. Don't give them any money. Shame on the NFL for allowing this to continue.

    This is just an awful game. The game system wont make a difference. If you're main mode is franchise, the game offers nothing to you. Play madden 20 and download the updated roster. The game just oozes "We're lazy and don't care."

    NFL 2K5 has a better experience for players and it is from 2005. Madden has always neglected Franchise mode but this year it is really horrific. The game has no fun factor since it was just a big roster update. This will be the last madden i buy until franchise is improved.

Absolutely wretched, game-breaking bugs riddle the gameplay, and the new "features" they've introduced such as Face of the Franchise are so half-baked you'd wonder how much time they really spent on them. Not to mention the dozens of presentation flaws this game has. I'll just list a few: Demarious Randall in a Packer'sI'm astounded at the fact this game was released in such a poor state. Absolutely wretched, game-breaking bugs riddle the gameplay, and the new "features" they've introduced such as Face of the Franchise are so half-baked you'd wonder how much time they really spent on them. Not to mention the dozens of presentation flaws this game has. I'll just list a few: Demarious Randall in a Packer's uniform on a loading screen (he hasn't been on the Packers since 2017), loading screens having incorrect player information (they literally copy-pasted the same loading screens from last year, so one screen says Aaron Donald is "only 23" when he's now 24), gameplay devs saying they removed all references to the "Redskins" team name, yet in the very first game screen you load into, you can select "Redskins" as your favorite team.

    On top of that, the new Face of the Franchise mode advertising your ability to play as either a WR, QB, or RB, yet you're forced into playing QB until the near end of your college career, so many story plots are forced and don't make any logical sense. For example, I put up 9 passing TD's in a college game, won the CFB national championship, but was STILL benched for a QB with clear health risks. Why even include a "story" mode if your play and choices barely make a difference at all to story outcome? It's so lazy.

    I really don't even know why we expected anything more. Unfortunately, we will have to suffer through another long few years of EA having exclusive NFL "simulation" (laughable) video game licensing.

    EA Tiburon as a studio needs to be completely cleaned out with a quality team that understands how to create a Sports game.

    TL;DR: Do not spend any more than $5 on this game. If you already own Madden 20, don't spend any money on this game. Wait for the inevitable sale in a few months when this game doesn't quite sell as many copies as they expected.    … Expand

I played it trying to build my franchise and I have 11 first round picks and my team is rated higher than when I started. Sadly EA has taken a grand franchise of madden and turned it into a mircotransaction monster, where you would lose everything you investedOk so the game is not a bad game if it was 5 years ago.     I feel like a 60-100$ roster update is a little much. Idk just me maybe. They have kept the same game over the years and tried to keep it all in one piece as the tech starts to get old but it is very much showing.

I can't tell you how many times a OL, TE, WR, etc. will not block the guy they are supposed to at the first level but, rather choose to go to the second level only to have a hit or miss on if they actually make contact with a defender ( typically they just swoop on by or clip ) I have about 4000 more characters that I could honestly fill up in regards to just gameplay and franchise alone but, I think those will get the point across.. no need to dive into the QB mechanics, CBs catching better and high pointing balls better, illogical turns when it comes to multiple things but, especially so in route running to the outside of the field, etc. Now, EA can YOU get the point? It's been years of these same complaints and yet NOTHING is done.. I'll end this with the simple fact that fans of simulation football are BEGGING for a different company to produce a football game. MUT is the usual **** pay to win, the gameplay is thrash, there are no improvements to to franchise mode, Face of the Franchise is the corniest story ever and is ridiculously easy, and the yard is a buggy mess.     Once again just completely ignored franchise mode. On top of that, for a company that has a monopoly on NFL simulations games, this doesn’t feel at all like a simulated football experience. All the “arcade-like” features of the game got all the attention.

    Spent $100 on a glorified title update, the yard is the only thing they added and it’s just another way for them to get micro transactions, face of the franchise is a rip off. You only play 3 or 4 games a season, Franchise mode is untouched. they need to give up the sim rights so 2k can go back to making simulation games

    The gameplay is pretty solid. The graphics are good. You can tell the developers know how to make a wonderful football game, they are just capped by the EA conglomerate. I can pick up any madden game released over the last 10 years and get the same general experience, and unfortunately in come cases a worse experience.     Madden NFL 21 is another blatant recycling of last year’s edition of the „simulation“ of the American football. Sadly, most of the modes remained the same. Gameplay received a few minor tweaks, and in the end it still persists as a cash grab not worth anybody’s time.

    For NFL diehards, there remains hundreds of gaming hours at your disposal in Madden 21. These same diehards – much like players of EA’s NHL and Sony’s The Show – will be left with the impression they’ve played this game before, however.
