    Nothing changed from last year. The gameplay on defense is a bit improved, otherwise it's a roster, coach and schedule update. Not worth it

I wish EA would just have some integrity and give up their exclusive license for simulation football since they seem disinterested in actually making simulation football.     Madden 21 is the worst performing game to date. This game is just a cash grab from EA since the last 5 years. The same game different year. No new inovation and the bugs are worse than i ever saw before. Once again well done EA for trying to suck every penny you can out of your player base for little to no effort.

    Extremely disappointing release. The only reason this gets a 1 because of the new game mode “The Yard”. Everything is literally a carbon copy of Madden 20. What a waste of $60, I want a refund.

    THE GAME HAS NOT BEEN CHANGED SINCE MADDEN 13. A disgrace to the sports gaming world. It is just a lack of all-around effort with no additions to the franchise, a ton of glitches, asset errors, spelling errors, and not even getting the right super bowl year. It's like they were dared to make the whole thing in 10 days. Just hot garbage. Save your money.

    I’ll sum it up like this: This game is a buggy disaster. They changed nothing. The only thing they added was the yard mode, which is not worth the price tag of the game. Franchise, face of the franchise and everything else is the damn same. And keep in mind, while all this is happening, EA makes billions of dollars of of the ultimate team. This is why we get the same damn game every year.

The Yard is not innovative to me it is just to try and compete with 2K. I can't handle being sucked into animation anymore, the game is not fluid. I give it a 1 only because COD did give a slight bump to the on fieldI have purchased every madden since 2003. This game is a disaster features wise. MUT is a boring challenge game.     Seriously though, this is just a 99% reskin with almost no effort whatsoever to innovate. When you have NO competiton, you are in no need to, god forbid, spend money on it. Most of the money, if any, went to microtransaction, which I hope dies a painful death.

    Remember, this is the only game that is licensed to make an NFL Football SIMULATION game and they completely disregard the one game mode that is meant to simulate the NFL. EA is laughing to the bank with your money and they do not care one bit, their work speaks for itself.

Offensive and defensive line bumping into each other with no logic or football awareness. Receivers still completing stopping in there routes with some one in the torrent path of their route. They added a new game mode with the Yard but it isn’t really “new” considering they had the exact same game mode on madden for the Wii. The new career mode is easily the worst in sports video game history with an awful storyline with the same result noSame **** every year.     I bought this, I played it and I have even already got the platinum trophy for this. Everything I played was on all madden outside of face of the franchise. Spent hours and I will be playing sparingly going forward.     -Pass rush moves finally added and expanded upon
    -Face of the franchise while massive flaws has finally taken a small step in the right direction

    Thats it. Two positives. The negatives? The FOOTBALL mechanics of this game are broken. I drop back to pass and I throw the pass. Cool nothing wrong with that right? I felt pressure and for whatever reason the defender pulled up and stopped watched me and let me throw the ball. Not like oh just stopped and made a mistake like the defender sat there and watched me for five seconds.

    Negatives
    -Graphics
    -Gameplay is not a simulation football
    -Still basic fundamental issues. This is not like the WWE version of video games. Its fake football.
    -The yard or superstar KO need to be removed from the game entirely and one mode needs to be focused on
    -The Face of the Franchise is finally heading in the right direction but still has major issues
    -Superstar abilities doesn't make the players feel unique it makes them just hilariously OP and not unique.

    In all this is a game that has fallen from grace. This isn't Madden 21 its Madden 17.4 and while they focus all in on next gen this is the time to change engines and they need to listen to the fans. If that means postponing and not releasing the next game? They need to do it.

    EA won't do that and they will stubbornly keep butting their heads at the wall until this turns into NBA Live.    … Expand

Then in a cutscene that is never shown our player snitches without our control and we are put in the game. Cool we get to play HS yes actually HS is very fun but Its like 3 games. Then you commit which I do like that they added real colleges so there is that but then Tommy (the starting QB mentioned before) he commits to the same college after switching to WR because he wants revenge for some reason after our player helps him by throwing TDs to him in the last HS game. Anyways he switches back to QB and now it puts us and Tommy in 3rd year of college where you re rotated at QB the story is dumb and there is really no chamge to any decisions you make. At least in Madden 20's career mode if you lose you get picked a little later or something and your friend I guess for Madden 20 a WR from college sends you a message but Tommy basically dies after College because he is one of the top prospects but never gets to the NFL. And then the NFL "Scenarios" they added just makes you skip weeks throughout the season and you have No control. Btw you get drafted to the Bears no matter what which is stupid. In Madden 20 it was like 6 different Teams but nope Madden 21 has 1 you get picked too and thats coming from a bears fan its so stupid. There is no immersion no Fun its stupid and pointless and shallow and there is no effort. As I said before the Gameplay is as bad as ever and MUT Is horrible I get some people love the gamemode but as a person who doesnt wanna spend 100000 bucks on packs that give me golds most of the time I refuse to play MUT. The Only thing I like from this year is the Yard which seems very fun however still lags behind 2k's park mode in My Career which is sad. However on top of that the new Flagship Gamemode making people wanna buy M21 is actually kinda bad due to weird animations and Glitches and again, terrible Gameplay. Player Models apparently mean nothing because everyone is warping through each other no matter what mode you play and overall its just a really bad experience. The only reason you want to call a blitz is if hes in a certain look. 99% of the time if you just come out jn a base defense sucg as a vanilla cover 3, or cover 4 drop show 2 you'll lock anything down. Ridiculous 1 play touchdowns from the wild cat formation are still in the game. For offense: you have to have a scrambking QB or else you can't move the ball. The MUT squads mechanics are still absolutely trash for the receivers. I could go on and on and on but this NEEDS to stop. There MUST be open markets and free market competition!… Expand

    Ultimate Team players won't find much wrong with the game, as nothing really has gotten worse in their end, although connection and gameplay issues (more on that later) still plague the game.

    Superstar KO is about the same, and despite its gameplay issues, it's good to have this mode in the game.

    Franchise mode received bug fixes for it's year long development on the new game. Bug fixes. As a yearly game release, bug fixes shouldn't be all the changes that a game makes to advertise to make the public want to buy it. There were only some minor quality of life updates, bug fixes, and implementations of new rules that are expected of a simulation game.

    Face of the Franchise is decent. A cliche story that looks weak compared to 2k's, but it isn't too bad. It's great to have a separate player career mode back in Madden, but some fixes should be made to this mode too.

    Gameplay is a problem. Nothing has really improved, and it still is a buggy mess. EA tries to claim that Madden is simulation football, and has a license so no other company can make a "simulation" NFL game, yet things happen in Madden that never can in real life. There's been no positive changes in this area from Madden 20 to Madden 21.

    Graphics look cool, but adding a new color scheme and font to everything doesn't make the game better, the features need to work.

    The real question will be how the PS5/Xbox X console versions of Madden 21 will be. Given EA's rough jump from Xbox to Xbox 360, and Xbox 360 to Xbox 1, I do fear the worst.

    It's sad to see that Madden isn't just football anymore, it's just Ultimate Team. Sure you can do the Yard and Superstar KO, and even try it's watered down franchise and career mode, but it's really only worth it to play if you like Ultimate Team, which is a shame because there's large communities that like more than just the pay to win pack opening mode, but really can't enjoy their own modes.

    My advice is to keep Madden 20, and download the season roster updates that people have uploaded. You will find there isn't a huge difference, and the Yard at this stage isn't a strong enough mode to really warrant paying $60 for what otherwise is just Madden 20 with updated rosters and a new menu and color scheme.    … Expand

So many glitches it's almost unplayable. Framerate drops are frequent really hindering gameplay.     POSITIVES
    + Game looks good on the field with great lighting and a strong attention to detail on equipment and uniforms.
    NEGATIVES
    - Not many changes in gameplay ugh glitchy as hell. So many glitches it's almost unplayable. Framerate drops are frequent really hindering gameplay. Animation based movement is more noticeable than ever creating a slu of unrealistic blocking, running, catching and tackling sequences making the game seem scripted. Slant plays still to easy as the user. New running cuts create a fast feel but look bad and akward not blending with the gameplay. Horrible presentation, no on field refs, lifeless sidelines no cheerleaders or fan interactions. Cut scenes are all over the place i still dont understand showing
    the actual game gameplay before the game even starts. Commentary is the same loud and overbearing repetitive nonsense that doesn't fit the flow of the game. The new YARD mode is shallow overall. If your expexting a NFL Street type experience you way off, as the yard is strictly arcade you don't pick your players or team it does it automatically ugh.     This game is beyond boring. I don't think they actually care about any sort of innovation anymore. I got to play the Franchise mode, and fell asleep an hour or so in.
    Why do the graphics still like it's from 2016? I know people love football, but PLEASE stop buying these "(games)" every year. Besides it being a buggy mess when I played it, you know they probably spent like 2-3 weeks in actually make this. This is the epitome of lazy and this yearly cadence of uninspired garbage needs to stop. Not just for this game, but for all games.     Madden NFL 21 is another blatant recycling of last year’s edition of the „simulation“ of the American football. Sadly, most of the modes remained the same. Gameplay received a few minor tweaks, and in the end it still persists as a cash grab not worth anybody’s time.

    For NFL diehards, there remains hundreds of gaming hours at your disposal in Madden 21. These same diehards – much like players of EA’s NHL and Sony’s The Show – will be left with the impression they’ve played this game before, however.
