    It is the same boring game that we have been given the last 10+ years. EA seems to be okay with producing a game that is absolutely awful and they do not plan on making the game better. The amount of animations in this game is absolutely absurd. They use the frostbite engine which is specially designed for first person shooter games not football games or sports games.     I've been playing Madden since 2004, and unfortunately this game over the past 4 or 5 years has just become so bad. It is like each year you pay $60 for basically an updated roster. Im giving it a 1 score because the gameplay is a bit more realistic to me. I truly hope they add updates to franchise and the game as a whole during the 21 season as they stated. But my hopes aren't high.

    Due to the shady monopolization of the NFL license. EA has been making uninspired and lackluster games for years. This installment is just an continuation of the same broken gameplay physics, and glitchy animations that encapsulates the EA Sports madden franchise.     I actually liked madden 20... but this game is a million steps in the wrong direction. Same old product EA puts out every year but this time it just feels even more lazy. I feel like I wasted my money. Please NFL drop EA’s exclusivity rights.

Once they figured out a way to create a cash cow, they ran with it and never looked back.     I am with the #nfldropea movement now. It has been the same game since madden 17. It has showed no improvements to franchise or superstar mode since madden 13. Ultimate would be great if it wasn’t a micro transaction based game mode. However I realize that’s an unrealistic request. It’s just that the Whole game is focused around a game mode focused around micro transactions. We missI am with the #nfldropea movement now. It has been the same game since madden 17. Stop marketing it to the young demographic because you know they won’t notice how bad the game is. The embarrassing part is that it’s not even due to the corona virus. It’s due to a company’s laziness. I think and hope that this is the last straw. It’s an awful game. It sucks because it has such a great tradition with so many people. I spent more time playing madden with my father than doing anything else. That tradition has passed & not because we got older, but because the games are awful. It’s sad. As long as people buy it, we as gamers lose. So please play something else for now. EA preaches change when there’s riots but hasn’t changed madden in 7 years. X-factors make players extremely broken. All EA cares about MUT mode because it's pay two trash. Do not buy this game! It's a waste of money and time. Franchise is the most abysmal, shallow, poorly implemented mode of ANY sports game franchise, and its not even close. The graphics are still terrible. The animations are still stiff. The atmosphere, even the basics like the sidelines, are out of ****ing 2006. The announcers and presentation, terrible. The highlight of the entire sport the superbowl? Literally the exact same animations and presentation for 4 years straight now. They may as well highlight this fact, because even stagnation would be a massive upgrade from what we have now.

    Every year i wait for this sports game to be even average within the context of peers, and it falls drastically short of that every time. Finally people are realizing en masse how pathetic EA is. I dont normally get worked up over games, but EA pays for exclusivity rights, and has a complete monopoly on the football gaming space. This piece of **** franchise is the only option. This review could be pages long, but whats even the point. I just needed to atleast add my decade long dissapointment to the list as people are finally done with this garbage.

    BTW if you still buy this game year after year, frankly, youre a clown ands crewing us all. Never has there been a more egregious example of phoning it in than Madden. Good job EA.    … Expand

    Once again EA fails to meet its core players needs of creating a quality and feature packed football simulation game. Regrettably I was forced to purchase by a friend as I planned to hold out for the first time EVER. Again, sloppy animations, sloppy presentations and no quality presence of a sole provider of a NFL simulation game.

    It’s sad that I’d rather buy a PS2 to play the madden that everyone loves and also the 2k5 that is the feature packed core football simulation players favorite.

    NFL needs to drop the sole partnership with EA and get their money back. We the fans need competition as we haven’t had a good franchise mode or player mode since madden 06/07 IMO. Especially during a global crisis that has kept sports away and a possibility of a lost NFL season, EA failed big time on delivering a alternate NFL reality.

    Fire Sean Graddy, and anyone from EA who has ruined the game throughout the years.

    If there is no drastic redesign, animation or story mode changes this will be by far the last time I ever buy a EA NFL game.

    For Christ sakes, just copy 2k’s franchise and mygm modes to please the fans!!    … Expand

The entire game is filled with glitches, sometimes cant kick because the frames drop while kicking, this isnt just an issue on consoles either, I run nearly every game with over 60 fps, often 100+, but madden 21 is where myhad to create an account to just add on to this great uprising against EA, game is absolutely horrid, atrocious, practically a crime against humanity to release it. Graphics - Looks Good at first but when the Camera Closes up to the Face Scan. You Realized this games “Potential”. Ultimate Franchise - Money Grab/ Cash Grab, Pay To Win. Loot Boxes that are expensive and Useless. Music - Music is Ight but not the same as Back then. Online - Bugged All Over the Place, Hackers on PC, Constant Freezing and Crashing of the Game. Now I know no one is going to read this Essay I wrote lol but I wanted to say Everything that We all are Saying!     Trash, bad game play, still glitches during kicks, player movement is boxy on defense, server still drops people mid game and gives you the lose when your PS4 is still connected to the internet. Player overall ratings need more attention.

    I’m going to be honest and start by saying this game has not changed ever since Madden 25, they’ve been throwing out the same game for 59.99 in some editions way more every year sometime in August and never once been delayed for bettering of the game like we see with other developers.     This year's edition is the same as madden 15 nothing has changed and i would argue it's the worst Madden NFL of all time. EA once again put too much effort into MUT (Madden Ultimate Team) and no effort into other modes such as franchise.

Franchise is horrible, no coaching carousels which is present in Nba2k series and MLB THE SHOW (idk about other games), commentary is very repetitive and boring, with the other sports games surpassing madden easily in this category. Franchise still has no career stats tracker showing teams, which is unacceptable in my opinion. While I enjoy online heavy modes in games, MUT is an awful mode meant to milk fans. MUT is a basically a pay-to-win card trading game with RESETS every release, which makes this mode simply cash grab. If your cards stayed with you, maybe MUT would be decent, but that fact alone ruins MUT. FOTF is still glorified connected franchise, with slight improvements, but still no where near as in depth as Road To The Show or Nba2k. KO and The Yard are nice additons and decent side modes, but the bad gameplay makes nether mode worth playing. These two modes are simply in the game to give an appearance of change. Madden 06-12, was more in depth than this game is, and this game is released as the last current-gen madden before next-gen. Madden 12 was released during 360/ps3 days. This game is really a sad story of how what was once a household name for football and a must have game in the 2000's has gone to a dumpster fire. EA doesn't care about this game or the fans, but us, the longtime fans continue to criticize in the hopes of reliving the glory days of madden. EA has abandoned the community that gave rise to a golden age 2005-2009 for a community of youth and causal sports fans who have yet to realize what playing Madden 2006 on ps2 was like. There was once a day where you could create whatever team you wished for, built a team off of realistic gameplay and good trade logic, and when bored, mini camp mode existed for both player progression and for fun. The days of being good at football are long-gone, with the days of cheese and overly gimmicky and poorly tuned gameplay.    … Expand

They promised that the stretch play would not dominate the game, but yet it’s the same as last year. They slowed down the user to where it’s almost pointless to use a LB or Safety.     Hot garbage just like the last decade of these games. Football games from 2k made in the early 2000s pay better attention to simple details like les of physics. Add on that the developers consider anyone who criticizes their trash game a “clown” and I have no interest to buy another game even if they miraculously made one that wasn’t completely worthless.

Ultimate team was a great addition years ago...but it’s come down to selling packs and stuffing your pockets. The yard was a great addition this year.. but it’s so limited and their is no attention to detail when it comes to how ourI’d love to return it if I could.     It’s a solid game like it is every year, but the franchise mode is so disappointing, and overall the game is pretty much the same. Adding “The Yard” is cool I guess, but Madden needs to give it’s fans a real reason to spend 60 bucks on the game besides roster updates. Giving this game a “6“ is being generous

Finally Franchise mode is the most ignored it’s been in years. Some may chalk this up to a transition year, but that was also what was said last year. Eventually the question some players have been asking for years becomes more valid: Is EA taking advantage of their exclusive contract to put out a continually less impressive product while soaking up microtransactions from children and streamers? The answer is looking more and more like yes. One thing is certain, there is no denying the decline in both user and critic reviews of this years game versus previous years. It is the most unimpressive entry in the madden franchise. Fans of the series can only hope that the user outrage regarding this entry in the franchise catches mainstream attention in order to bring change; in the same way EA’s Star Wars game once created enough outrage to gain the attention of this with the power to bring change.… Expand

    I have no idea what everyone is talking about. The game is great. Unless you didn't like Franchise last year, it's perfect. Superstar KO had many bugs and lag fixed. The Yard is so much fun, you could play hours with your friends. Face of the Franchise added more storyline so it got better. MUT got updated a bit. Gameplay is better with deadleg and jurdle. Plus more realotci animations.I have no idea what everyone is talking about. The game is great. Unless you didn't like Franchise last year, it's perfect. Superstar KO had many bugs and lag fixed.     Madden NFL 21 is another blatant recycling of last year’s edition of the „simulation“ of the American football. Sadly, most of the modes remained the same. Gameplay received a few minor tweaks, and in the end it still persists as a cash grab not worth anybody’s time.

    For NFL diehards, there remains hundreds of gaming hours at your disposal in Madden 21. These same diehards – much like players of EA’s NHL and Sony’s The Show – will be left with the impression they’ve played this game before, however.
