    Somehow worse than madden 20. All problems it had intensified. Sims bad, career mode is bad, the whole game is a just the shell of madden 20 with a few updates

    Its EA trying to suck every last cent out of the fan base. The story mode they created was so short, and was horrifically written, it made zero sense. EA really puts zero effort in to their sports titles. All of them are just roster updates. I've never seen a gaming company have such a lack of creativity to innovate and create interesting titles that are actually worth the price tag.     EA and it’s development team have produced another unacceptable title. Promises have not been fulfilled, and they expected that #FixMaddenFranchise video response to be forgotten. It hasn’t. The “updates” to this game are plain and simply pathetic. The Yard would be a cool upgrade to this title, if they had first fleshed out their horrible gameplay, and stale other game modes.     $$$ is all that EA is worried about. And I'm surprised they haven't just eliminated franchise mode all together with how little thought they've put into it. Maybe once they show love to the most popular game mode, then they'll recover a little bit of reputation. But until then, no one should buy another Madden game

Superstar KO is the same every part of it, you get no satisfaction after you win all 5 games. Then you have franchise where they dont even add anything year after year after year.     Buggy, broken gameplay. Recycled content. Very few new features. It literally took 20 minutes of gameplay before encountering a game breaking bug where thr ball was hiked and just floated behind the line while all players from both teams tried in vain to recover it. Horrible. Steer clear.

From the constant glitches/ lagging, to the constant force quit the game does, to the fact that I can’t get past week 3 in franchise mode w/o the game crashing, to seeing the same game recycled for over 5 years with slight(emphasis on slight) additions each year, to seeing videos online of ppl finding Madden 19 & 20 logos IN Madden 21. It’s literally SOOOOO many places to begin and SOOOOO many problems that need to unpacked. For years, each madden has lacked individuality from each other to the point where each madden that comes out is just seen as a roster update. Granted, the addition of “the yard” was an excellent idea that has potential, but with the crashing, it’s almost impossible to play. Why aren’t there more customizations for created players(i.e. more hairstyles like dreadlocks or facial hair styles like full beards; more customization of gear for created players in franchise mode). Its sad that EA continues to put out mediocre content because they know people will buy it. I truly don’t think they care about the games they make. That’s why NBA Live was cancelled indefinitely because they don’t put in effort into their content. Maybe 2K Sports should just take over making video games for the NFL again because EA Sports is literally limping to the barn with the games they’ve been making for YEARS. Before Madden 20 and 21 the last Madden I bought was madden 25 I’m thankful I was able to save my money all those years in between. I really feel bad for the younger kids who saved their money or didnt ask for anything else from their parents(DURING A PANDEMIC) just to buy a game they you can barely play and is just a copy of the last edition. EA needs to pass the torch to somebody who’ll do Madden justice and they can stick to FIFA, UFC, and whatever else because this is honestly atrocious.… Expand

    The simulation football modes are the exact same and hasn't been touched. In other words, the 60 dollars you paid for the offline experience is no different than Madden 20, 19, 18 and 17. Franchise hasn't been touched in almost a decade. Madden is now an arcade game built upon micro transactions.

This is horrific and ea should lose the rights to the nfl. They should also drop frostbite as I believe it to be the worst gaming engine I have ever had the displeasure of playing on. That would be more entertaining anyways. The bugs require a damn exterminator at this point, the O-lineman block each other more often than they block an opposing defender. Animations are somehow even more rampant than they were last year. There is no point in getting the game if you're not a fan of Ultimate Team. FOTF is The Room levels of horrible writing, Yard is just a flimsy attempt of "competing" with 2K and The Show. Franchise, the mode that should be the bread and butter of a supposed NFL Simulation game, is the exact copy and paste same as the last couple of years. It's even worse because draft prospects are so much less likely to have a hidden development trait, which was the sole purpose of me playing the game last year. Announcers are still recycled and boring as all hell, kickers are nerfed, they can't get player names, ages, or contract lengths right. I heard an announcer say that I was about to head into super bowl 23. The NFL Regular season can't come sooner, because this game has me Jonesing for some actual, real life football.… Expand

The answer is looking more and more like yes. One thing is certain, there is no denying the decline in both user and critic reviews of this years game versus previous years. It is the most unimpressive entry in the madden franchise. EA hasn't cared about Madden for over a decade. Once they figured out a way to create a cash cow, they ran with it and never looked back. Graphics - Looks Good at first but when the Camera Closes up to the Face Scan. You Realized this games “Potential”. Ultimate Franchise - Money Grab/ Cash Grab, Pay To Win. Loot Boxes that are expensive and Useless. Music - Music is Ight but not the same as Back then. Online - Bugged All Over the Place, Hackers on PC, Constant Freezing and Crashing of the Game. In my honest opinion I think the mut squads online head to head is as bad as madden 1, actually it’s a lot worse. The amount of tine and incorporation it took to make this piece of dog **** compares to the amount of tine it takes me to drop a deuce in the toilet. Even the yard their “all new” mode literally looks like it was made by like 4 people who had to do a school project and had to pull an all nighter and even that would look better than this. My final thoughts is that whoever wants to play a football game just wait for 2k’s version because this is not worth anyone’s time and money I say this as a consumer since I played this game a lot even before it’s preorder launch with the 10 hour trial. And for those who did buy this game like me then may god have mercy on your soul! BTW I marked it as a spoiler alert since this game will spoil any happiness you have period!

    After 2 days of playing...I just can't bring myself to playing it again... I deleted it from my system. Its time for someone else to make a NFL game. EA Sports is lagging so far behind in games these days. Enough 2nd chances. Enough is enough.

    If you want a good NFL Simulation Football game, you have to go back to the year 2004! NFL 2k5 and Madden 05 were 2 of the best football games ever made! What was the difference? EA had some competition! #NFLdropEA

    Face of the Franchise is so bad, it's laughable. And thats the only thing that's changed from last year. I've bought every Madden since '99. It's a shame that I hadnt learned to stop giving them my money until now.

    Madden NFL 21 is another blatant recycling of last year’s edition of the „simulation“ of the American football. Sadly, most of the modes remained the same. Gameplay received a few minor tweaks, and in the end it still persists as a cash grab not worth anybody’s time.
