    Easily the worst Madden of all time. EA should be ashamed of the product they put out and we should be embarrassed we spent money on it. 0/10, 3 thumbs down. The gameplay is ridiculously inconsistent, no matter the game mode. Tackling is washed. There's no such thing as run defense whatsoever. The players on offense can't catch a ball with a 64 overall CB with 93 speed on em. Throw out ofEasily the worst Madden of all time.     Fully updated the game is better but still a total mess ya franchise did get some needed things added but the gameplay is horrible, face of the franchise is better but still not good, the acting was terrible, the yard is cool but the gameplay ruins it

    This game is clearly unfinished and has sooo many glitches and bugs... not to mention that the excessive animations ruin this game. It only gets a 1.0 because it’s got good graphics and has updated rosters correctly.

    Madden has offered some amazing games in its earlier years. But it has failed to innovate or update its in-game physics or gameplay optionality to point that it is clearly a cash and grab game series. This feels insulting to fans of the NFL who are looking to realistically enjoy a recreation of an NFL game. The clear lack of effort of investment into Madden is insulting. Avoid this game atMadden has offered some amazing games in its earlier years.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I can't really explain it but the game plays like my old van steered. The steering wheel had WAY too much 'play' in it.
    The game feels....soft when controlling it. Not to mention how many times I've had players go thru other players. Or when my QB tries to trow a little 5 yd dump pass and missed the receiver by 15 yards....REPEATEDLY!! When a guy does catch a pass it seems like they turn in any other direction than the way they should go. The entire game play just feels ....squishy. But hey, at least we get a horrible soundtrack to go with it!!
    What happened to all the classic football music??

    Buggy as **** games feel scripted, etc. Ever since the NFL gave Madden an exclusive license, the game has been becoming worse and worse.

    Suggestions: Cut out/limit animations especially in competitive game modes. Fix freeze and dive tackle glitches. Increase obviously penalties calls especially with pass interference. Increase fatigue factor on defense (one player shouldnt be able to cover sideline to sideline and get a hitstick animation every single time. overall make it more realistic.    … Expand

    Too expensive, very buggy, and low effort. A company like EA should be able to produce a better product that the consumer wants. However, EA continues to give consumers the same poor experience in franchise and MUT modes. PTW

    This game doesn't deserve anything more than a 0. You already know what I am going to say, far far far too much emphasis on arcade gameplay for what is supposed to be a simulation football game, clearly evident in the franchise mode where the simulation aspect of football actually lives.

You can really see the arcadey emphasis creep into franchise mode with the way players get upgraded. You pick a category of said players game, whether it be west coast, field general, or scrambler, and then hope you get the upgrade you want... let me beat a dead horse and once again ask, how is that simulation? Rant incoming, skip ahead if you want to.
    Look at NBA 2K for instance, if you want your players to have linear development in their game, then you don't have to touch it their practices and they'll develop on their own just fine, and based off of how much time they get on the court or how well they play, they get better as players. But you can really focus on how you want a player to develop. For instance, Ben Simmons is a young and elite playmaker, but he can't shoot to save his life, so I made sure he focused almost entirely on his perimeter shooting, and after a few years, he became a 33% 3pt shooter, making him an offensive freak. But you don't see that ANYWHERE in madden, and from the looks in the Madden 22 trailer that just released, they will continue to lack in that department.

    I supposed if you wanted to play MUT, the game is fine I guess? However, the gameplay doesn't make the game much more fun, in fact the most fun I have with the game is not having to get involved with the gameplay itself. I spend 95% of my gameplay in franchise, and rarely do I ever play an actual game with my team. And the times that I do play, it is so god damn easy to cheese the game, that I have to restrict my playbook unless you set it to All-Madden difficulty, which all it really does is make your team dumb, doesn't actually make the opponent harder.

    So all in all, don't buy this game, or Madden 22 when it comes out. From what I saw, the only additions to franchise mode is game planning and Off/Def Coordinators. And I can't stress this enough, but those 2 additions to franchise mode will do nothing, I guarantee you they won't actually make a difference. Until they completely switch game engines, nothing is going to be "new" with their gameplay, and don't even get me started with the gameplay that they showed in the trailer, the first 5 shots of gameplay contained the same animations from this game, and the previous 3 as well.    … Expand

    The fact that EA promised the fans simple, specific upgrades to the game twice and then blatantly disregarded it seconds later is a screaming indictment on the company. It also speaks volumes on the monopoly developers have on the industry.

But i have to say from the bottom of my heart that the errors and the glitches this game has is by far the worst. The gaming experience is trash. I played the game with my 3 year old and the game literary allowed my 3 year old to intercept the ball with to much ease. Also let me remind you that this was an open receiver but for some reason the pass dragged in the air much longer than usual as if it had enough of the same play being used. Also randomly the game takes control during certain plays in action and user have no control operating players. Please fix this junk. I miss fair play… Expand

    A minor step up from Madden 20 but that was arguably the worst Madden ever. Yet again the gameplay doesn’t simulate the NFL, franchise mode lacks depth, and MUT is just a cash grab.

    Madden has been terrible since 2013 , the franchise mode still sucks after all these changes , I love football and dont get the real football experience playing madden , since Ultimate team came out madden has been down hill , nfl needs to give madden some competition , let 2k make a football game

    Any given play can be a complete failure or TD because of the terrible physics and dated CPU AI. Ending scores and statistics of games played are more often questionable than not, leaving you wondering what the numbers would say if the game worked properly. Playing a full game without feeling cheated on at least a single play is impossible. Holding - offense!

    Devs have suck to new lows with this trash. Buggier and glitchier than all hell. This series has been on a serious decline for the last ten years. I didn't care too much about buying a new one every year when it was some solid gameplay, but the devs are so lazy and clearly don't care at all anymore. They just want to milk us fans. Thanks Obama!

    bugs and glitches everywhere. Animations are broken. Realism? Yeah, forget about that. And Franchise is still so barebones that I just can't bear playing it. Fix this game. We deserve better than whatever this is.

    Madden NFL 21 is another blatant recycling of last year’s edition of the „simulation“ of the American football. Sadly, most of the modes remained the same. Gameplay received a few minor tweaks, and in the end it still persists as a cash grab not worth anybody’s time.

    For NFL diehards, there remains hundreds of gaming hours at your disposal in Madden 21. These same diehards – much like players of EA’s NHL and Sony’s The Show – will be left with the impression they’ve played this game before, however.
