    I purchased this game because I saw that they were going to try and "listen to the players" about everything we have been complaining about for years. I am a franchise fan. I bought the game for that specific mode expecting the revamped version they promised. Nothing really changed. It still is the same boring franchise mode that lacks any true depth in it.     Garbage upon garbage upon garbage. Year after year it does not change. They have no competition and therefore no reason to not push out a 60 dollar roster update. Save yourself the money and buy something else... like your neighbors garbage or used socks.

    It is so bad and buggy. Even the menu sucks. I essentially paid $58.99 for a roster update and a game mode ill never play (The Yard). This game would be bad if it was launched as a beta.

    This is the first Madden game in my entire life that I past on and didn't buy. I wanted to do this for the past few years but when EA is the only company allowed to make NFL simulation football games it forces you into buying it for a roster update. Not anymore though. If franchise mode doesn't get updated this year I'll wait for next year. In the meantime though I'll pay maxfootball 2020This is the first Madden game in my entire life that I past on and didn't buy.     What really makes me sad are all the kids growing up now who don't understand what everyone is so angry about. The kids who have never gotten to experience a good NFL game that features their favorite players and teams. They've had nothing but the same tired Madden experience but don't know enough to think that it could be better.

EA is making literally billions of dollars off this game every year they can afford to hire developers who would actually be able to achieve this. The frostbite engine is not build for football simulation and is out-preformed by game engines from 15 years ago. The only people happy with this gameplay are people who never played older football games or the "pro" players who just cheese the flaws in the game until it doesn't even resemble football anymore.

    No attention has been paid to making the franchise mode actually fun to play or a realistic sim. This has been completely broken since at least Madden 13. I've seen games played with dice and look-up tables that had more realism. MUT is a complete waste of time and/or money. The yard might be fun if it wasn't just another excuse to push micro-transactions.

    EA is such a shady, horrible company. Do they have no pride at all in the product they put their name on? Do they have no moral qualms about pushing gambling and micro-transactions on children? No wonder they can't get any developers with actual talent to come work for them and the ones that do try to get out of there as soon as they can.    … Expand

    Thinking about buying this game? Don’t. Do you own most or all of the Madden games like a majority of players? Then you already have 5+ versions of this game. As a replacement, withdrawal $64 and take it to your fireplace and light it on fire. Watch as the ash from your money falls into the fire with real physics. Speak aloud and comment on what you’re seeing as it’ll be more accurate.

Why not just drop franchise mode and just have MUT and get an exclusive NFL arcade license. The yard is a Walmart version of NBA2K's park which I love. I just don't understand why EA couldn't just add one feature to franchise mode every year instead of taking away one feature of franchise mode each year. The face of the franchise mode is maybe the most cringe storyline I have ever seen. It's like the developers at EA saw how good 2K's mycareer is and said let's see how we can ruin this. The next thing is that I don't understand how people expect the gameplay to be realistic when the engine that Madden runs on isn't even made for a football game. The frostbite engine was made by EA in 2008 for first-person shooters. It was used in a lot of the Battlefield games. In 2017 EA starting acting like this engine was some new technology that was going to fix gameplay in Madden 18. They literally put it on the back of the box. This is why the gameplay in a football game made 16 years ago is better than this. The receivers in 2K5 could actually run a fade to the back of the endzone. The worst thing is as the game get's worse the price goes up. For me to even think about buying this game next year it Franchise mode needs to have a Coaching Carousel with Coaching skill trees, advanced scouting with descriptions for each player, advanced stat-tracking with year to year stats, more accurate simulation, more detailed and customizable relocation options, player morale where they could demand a contract extension or a trade, training camp, position battles, more accurate trade logic, non-op X-Factors, NFL rule changes (like in NBA2K), and modernize outside linebacker and defensive end specifications,. They also would have to fix the gameplay by making an engine specifically for football games. Lastly, make the yard exactly like the park in 2k and make it 3v3 and all online players (not CPU) instead of 6v6. The sad thing about all of this is that the people at EA won't even care about this awful user score because they are too busy making racks off five-year-olds using their mom's credit cards. In response to a low user score EA sports employee, Clint Oldenburg said " well 2 is better than 1". This is why I have no hope for EA to make a good football game ever again. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!     Haven’t bought and enjoyed a single madden since Madden 10. Micro transactions and glitches simulator is what you’re paying for this year. We all love 2k but even they’re starting to fall into the pit of what madden is now. Drop the contract if you want any support in this market.

    Steer clear of this game, several veterans free agents are missing (I.e. Clowney) due to player’s rights agreements, the game is incredibly glitchy and uninspired. Terrible job by EA as has been the case for several years now.

Even in their most popular game mode they do not fix a game mode breaking glitch a week after “official launch” In squads if you try to throw a pass in the gun, no play action it will kick you off qb and cause havoc on offense for you as your teammate takes over unaware of what’s happening.     If you love Franchise Mode you are better off porting a roster for Madden 20 and playing that this cycle. Not a single new feature this year. The jokes are always, “it’s the same game every year nothing changes.” Well, this year Madden 21 is literally a copy and paste job. The paper is still warm from the photocopier.

    It is almost the same exact game as madden 20. The only difference I see is that stretch run plays only get you a 20+ yard run about 33% of the time instead of 80% of the time. Nobody asked for more arcade modes. The only reason they added them is to point users to their new store.

    I play franchise 98% with the occasional online game... this game is no different than madden 16. A few minor tweaks to the gameplay that’s about it. Same menu, same intro, same layout in franchise, same interactions. Just over it

    Madden 21 has been a major disappointment for me, especially because EA actually responded to criticism about franchise mode and acted as if they were going to fix it. Instead it’s exactly the same. The relocation teams have actually been the same for the last 5 Maddens and that’s something literally everyone complains about but EA just doesn’t care. They added nothing new to the drafts or the off-season process. they didn’t fix trading and free agency. The career mode still doesn’t compare at all to 2k’s and is extremely boring and easy. The Franchise mode overall is still way worse than NCAA 14’s, that was released 7 years before this game. There are a few new animations but still none of them actually feel natural. They add 3 new tackle animations every year and after two weeks of playing you basically know what it’s going to look like when your guy gets tackled. Same thing for catches, broken tackles, sacks, jukes, stiff arms, hit sticks, etc.The game has boiled down to being able to control way less than you’re actually just watching when you play Madden. And it’s because it’s all built on the frostbite engine which is specifically made to produce first person shooters and not football games. however because it’s cheaper than designing your own engine, EA uses Frostbite. NFL 2K5 and All Pro Football 2K8 designed engines specifically for simulation football games and they both look and feel way better/smoother. I was initially excited for the yard because I thought EA was finally going to replicate NBA 2K’s extremely popular Park mode. Instead it’s another arcade mini game very similar to the superstar mode. You can fully upgrade your character in a week and then at that point you catch every ball with one hand no matter how covered you are.     Not realistic at all, franchise mode has been the same forever, literally copy and paste the same game. Yes, there are some gameplay upgrades but that's it. It does feel better but so many glitches come with it.

Whatever 5 year old you hired to edit New jerseys onto players needs to be fired and the game actually needs to see improvement. Madden NFL 21s franchise mode is and has felt like a copy and paste for the past 4 years adding little things here and there. A good NFL football simulation game should actually feel like I'm experiencing what I watch on football Sundays. There is NO changes to franchise other than rosters and jersey's in this years franchise mode compared to last. The superbowl celebration hasn't changed since Madden 17 or 18. Face of the Franchise is and always has been a cheesy, lazy, addition and I have no idea why it exists. It's better than the previous two iterations only because I like being able to start my career in high school and you can skip the cutscenes more often so you're not locked in a terrible screenplay written by someone who's never seen a good football movie or show or know really anything about what a players journey is like to the nfl. Ultimate Team is the filthiest cash grab I have ever experienced and is so pay to win I can't help but ask, "what innovation does this bring to a football game?". If you want to remotely compete you have to put in way too many hours on solo challenges and games that it will get boring very fast unless your pockets run very deep and you can buy as many packs as you please. Sadly, this is the only mode that gets continuous content throughout the year which is fun but is immediately demotivating when playing someone who has too much money and all the latest and greatest cards. The Yard is actually a pretty fun mode and I'm glad EA put something worth playing in this years madden game, because without it, I wouldn't have spent 15$ on EA Play to play it. A company with as many resources as it has shouldn't be allowed to put out what feels like AN UPDATE and slap a 60$ price tag and call it new. Yeah, they will have updates, but you can't put a bow on dog sh** and suddenly it isn't dogsh**. Sorry. #NFLdropEa… Expand

I got an interception while playing and instead of the game giving my a 1st and 10 (like in regular football), I was put in a situation where it was 2nd and -4 (yes, negative four).     Madden NFL 21 is another blatant recycling of last year’s edition of the „simulation“ of the American football. Sadly, most of the modes remained the same. Gameplay received a few minor tweaks, and in the end it still persists as a cash grab not worth anybody’s time.
