    EA could learn alot from Paradox Interactive. Paradox is community based and actually accepts criticisms from their consumers, and actually attempts to remedy situations. EA on the other hand gets defensive and blocks people who constructively criticize the game. Worse yet, EA has the audacity to not even watch sincere videos that demonstrate some of the major issues with the game. Then EAEA could learn alot from Paradox Interactive. Squads could be a really fun mode, but there is de-sync after de-sync. You can not call any plays that aren't Play action or Single back because then the HC becomes the QB randomly.     I so badly want to play an NFL game this year, so much so that I even whipped out my ps2 to give NFL Street a revisit. It looks like I will be forced to play that until 2024 or whatever seeing as I would be doing the football community a disservice by giving any amount of money to EA and madden. i will admit I am as much of a sucker for Ultimate Team as one can be, but even theI so badly want to play an NFL game this year, so much so that I even whipped out my ps2 to give NFL Street a revisit. It looks like I will be forced to play that until 2024 or whatever seeing as I would be doing the football community a disservice by giving any amount of money to EA and madden. i will admit I am as much of a sucker for Ultimate Team as one can be, but even the satisfaction of building a dream team can't save the recent entrys of this franchise.     Was Playing Madden 21 and found a Madden 20 Logo. How lazy can EA be? I’ve been buying Madden so nice Madden 92 so I know there are ups and downs. This game is basically Madden 20 and 19.

    The game is horrible , it's full of bugs and is definitely not a simulation football game. The commentary is horrible, the presentation feels like its circa 2008. They seemed to not have had an actual Beta test with all of the glitches in the game.

The lack of attention to franchise mode for the last decade is disgraceful.

    This is a primary example of the benefits of competition - if 2K had the licence to make an NFL game then this wouldn't have happened. It's a real shame, loyal customer for over 10 years and although each of the last few years have been disappointing, I still held out hope. This is the last straw - I won't be buying another Madden unless they show some kind of commitment to rewarding their customers.

I played this game for around 7-8 hours and played ESPN NFL 2K5 immediately after. I can say with 100% certainty that NFL 2K5, a game that came out 15 years ago, provides a more realistic, bug-free, & enjoyable experience. Going back to Madden 21,I really wanted to give this game a good score considering all that has been happening. However, I'm sorry to say that the "haters" are right. Going back to Madden 21, the yard is pretty fun and is the only reason I even give this a 1, MUT is still just a glorified casino, Franchise mode hasn't changed in the past 5 years, and the Face of the Franchise is less realistic than a WattPad BTS fan fiction. The game play is the same as always except now it has even more glitches. Speaking of glitches and mistakes, the player showcase loading screens are full of typos, bad photo-editing, and straight-up false information. If you want to get a realistic and fun football game, ESPN NFL 2K5, All-Pro Football 2K8, or NCAA Football 14 are all far better products than Madden has been since 2010.… Expand

I have played each madden for the last decade and I can promise you we are seeing the same mechanics since Madden 25. Madden has taken a fall from glory ever since it’s change to the Frostbite engine, an engine used for 1st person shooters mostly, so it is very animation based. You usually always see the same animations over and over in a first person shooter, but that doesn’t matter that’s not the focus of the gameplay. But in Madden you are seeing animations that have been constantly in the game since Madden 13. Everything feels scripted, nothing feels smooth. Every cut, juke, spin move you make feels pre determined and it us just not fun to look at or play. Tackling is still another huge problem. Same animations over and over along with the same catching animations as well. Players are constantly clipping into one another. There has been no new changes to Franchise mode, the mode that used to be the glory of Madden. It has been the same for the last 3 years. You can still see banners in the game for Madden 20 and Madden 19... Garbage game, do not buy. #MaddendropEA… Expand

The suction tackling is worse, the frame rate drops at the worst moments(during a kick). The DBs are over powered. It’s a reason why in the sport of basketball games 2k has demolished the likes of NBA, they actually seem to care. I’m never buying another madden again.     For all those of you complaining about the abundance of bad reviews and how it’s still “a good game”, the 0.3 user rating on Metacritic doesn’t just reflect the garbage product displayed (and the fact that I already own the game in the form of Madden 20), but also the ineptitude among Electronic Arts for more than a decade now. Hope this is a wake up call for EA but it won’t be. I justFor all those of you complaining about the abundance of bad reviews and how it’s still “a good game”, the 0.3 user rating on Metacritic doesn’t just reflect the garbage product displayed (and the fact that I already own the game in the form of Madden 20), but also the ineptitude among Electronic Arts for more than a decade now. Hope this is a wake up call for EA but it won’t be. I just pray that when their license is up a game developer who actually cares about making a decent product for their players pounces on it and EA goes out of business.     I’m surprised EA hasn’t made playing as your favorite team a micro-transaction yet. Imagine spending 60+ dollars on this “game” only to find out it’s still the same doo doo on a stick it’s been for years, but somehow even worse than that. Then picture spending even more money on micro-transactions on it that’s rendered completely useless in less than a year. Couldn’t be me.

    People say this game is the same game every year with minor graphic changes and roster changes (which is true), but the GAMEPLAY HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE for at least the past 5 editions. You have no control over players... takes a runningback several steps to make a simple cut. So stiff.

Yet, once again they shove another cash cow mode the yard on us to go along with the already ridiculous Madden ultimate spender. As far as gameplay, it's the same. They tweaked player interaction slightly, with block engagement and tackling. Besides that, they've cluttered the defensive line interface with a bully blue box call rush moves. Then, if you make a big play, i.e. good pass, first down, sack, tackle for loss you have a ridiculous big d-pad esque picture of how you should celebrate. It's intrusive and obnoxious and needs to go away, immediately. That's really it. You're paying $60 dollars for a copy and paste regression of a football game EA Tiburon continues to milk for it's cash cow Madden Ultimate Spender and The Yard. The NFL needs to revaluate or intervene like Disney did for Star Wars Battlefront 2. Because this game is atrocious. #SaveMaddenFrancise. #NFLfireEA. EA has ruined John Madden's name and honor. Many gameplay and AI flaws from previous titles have continued into this one as well. You can only get so much fun from such broken gameplay.     I haven't bought a Madden in years. Madden 21 is just as bad as the last Madden I played. They've even removed features. Franchise mode is some how worst. The user interface even lags. Never buying Madden ever again.

    It’s honestly just the same game as last year with a different cost of paint. You can even find old assets from the last game in this newest one like before. It’s not worth 60 dollars nor 50 or 40 and shouldn’t even be sold as a newest entry on its own. Like I mentioned before, same game but with a few new changes.

    I've been buying Madden for the past 5 years but I had enough. It's just the same things year round , too many glitches and the gameplay feels the same from last year's ,they try adding small things like choosing your own TD celebration etc but who cares if the gameplay is trash and the presentation is same. EA just wants to keep making money !

This year the face of the franchise is supposed to be a big selling point. You go in with a lame storyline that is predetermined no matter what you do. I threw nine touchdowns coming off a super bowl win. My player is 27 years old with a 95 overall rating yet I’m fighting for my starting job with a quarterback who’s six years older and has a 75 overall rating. It still glitches worse than ever. My player will be running and trip his own self up. The commentary is awful. The same prerecorded garbage over and over for year. If you break a record it’s not even acknowledged. This game is pure crap and ea could not care less. They have a monopoly on the nfl so they know fans are just gonna keep buying it hoping it’s gonna get better. Every since they added mut it’s went down hill because they only care about the micro transactions. This game will not get better until the monopoly is over. It needs competition.… Expand

    Atrocious game. The Madden series has not seen the innovation since Madden 18. Every year they wheel out the same product with literally just a roster update and new uniforms. It's incredibly frustrating that lack of innovation or effort that is now being put into the Madden series

    Literally Madden 20.. They hit the copy and paste again this year but even found a way to take out content from Franchise. I have never regretted purchasing a game more than I do this one. Ill keep this review short like the list of new features in this game. #DropEA

    Madden NFL 21 is another blatant recycling of last year’s edition of the „simulation“ of the American football. Sadly, most of the modes remained the same. Gameplay received a few minor tweaks, and in the end it still persists as a cash grab not worth anybody’s time.
