    Before I even start this review.

    I bought this, I played it and I have even already got the platinum trophy for this. Everything I played was on all madden outside of face of the franchise. Spent hours and I will be playing sparingly going forward. There are very few positives but the small improvements should be noted because hopefully EA is reading through these in an ATTEMPT to make    Before I even start this review.

    Positives?
    -Pass rush moves finally added and expanded upon
    -Face of the franchise while massive flaws has finally taken a small step in the right direction

    Thats it. Two positives. The negatives? The FOOTBALL mechanics of this game are broken. I drop back to pass and I throw the pass. Cool nothing wrong with that right? I felt pressure and for whatever reason the defender pulled up and stopped watched me and let me throw the ball. Not like oh just stopped and made a mistake like the defender sat there and watched me for five seconds.

    Negatives
    -Graphics
    -Gameplay is not a simulation football
    -Still basic fundamental issues. This is not like the WWE version of video games. Its fake football.
    -The yard or superstar KO need to be removed from the game entirely and one mode needs to be focused on
    -The Face of the Franchise is finally heading in the right direction but still has major issues
    -Superstar abilities doesn't make the players feel unique it makes them just hilariously OP and not unique.

    In all this is a game that has fallen from grace. This isn't Madden 21 its Madden 17.4 and while they focus all in on next gen this is the time to change engines and they need to listen to the fans. If that means postponing and not releasing the next game? They need to do it.

    EA won't do that and they will stubbornly keep butting their heads at the wall until this turns into NBA Live.    … Expand

    Literally the worst NFL game ever made. I could’ve stuck with Madden ‘10 and enjoyed it 5 times as much as this heaping pile of trash. Steer clear of this mess. Don’t waste your money. Matter of fact, if you get the inclination to buy it, just send me the money... you’d still get nothing, at least you’ll get the “sense of pride and accomplishment” for helping me pay my bills.

    A critical disappointment for any football fan hoping EA would put an ounce of effort into anything other than micro transaction modes. Franchise mode begs for attention but is still a hollow shell of what it could be and gameplay is glitchy. If you ever want Madden to improve their game you will skip this one entirely.

    This is the last Madden I'm buying - and I suggest everyone does the same. I literally wasting $60 for this - the games get worse each year - and more and more greedy and woke. Let China buy Madden if thats what you want. I'm done. Thanks, Madden - you just turned football into the new Hockey.

    Awful. Worse than 20....honestly, gonna go back to playing modded/updated Madden 08 on PC. This is akin to Konami switching to making slot machines, except they are trying to hide it. Madden should just go the direction of NFL Blitz and make a true arcade game... Leave making simulation football to someone else

    I tried writing an honest review but after plugging in my ps2 and playing franchise im giving this a complete 0!! the lack of effort and an EXACT copy and paste franchise from last year the missing modes the same faces same everything its a slap in the face of every football fan alive!     We need a real campaign mode, a deep franchise mode, a customized tournament mode, all the single player modes that have been left behind since PS2 generation.

    We also need game inmersion, stadiums full of real details, fans that cheers up Big plays, pressure the away team and a bigger Game presentation-end game statics & analysis. We need all of this.     Madden continues to remove things I love from the game to support micro-transactions and to sell card packs. I use to buy Madden every year and I've finally see the light. I'm done, bring back building stadiums and deep create a player and put some effort on franchise mode.

    Back to the decisions in Face of the Franchise. After your first year, the game FORCES you to either switch positions or go into the NFL Draft. No chance to compete for the starting job in your second year. Absolutely ridiculous.
    In the NFL Draft, you can either "let fate decide" or pick the team you go to. Unfortunately, the "let fate decide" option makes you get picked by the Bears. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Did these guys go up to the beta stage and then just decide they were done?

    Random frame drops, even when OFFLINE
    The Yard, while fun, is NOT simulation football. Superstar KO is NOT simulation football. Ultimate Team is NOT simulation football.

    Verdict: This is not a simulation football game. This is the kind of game the NFL is allowing 2K to make next year. What's the point of the exclusive sim-game deal? EA and 2K are just gonna be making two separate non-simulation games. Such a shame. At least the football feels good to play. That's honestly all that saves it from being a 0 out of 10.    … Expand

    Trash!!! COD is cool but then they ruin it by brining back the super user picks. Franchise has been trash and is still trash. How can a billion dollar company not get the simplest football concepts right??? Save your money! Receivers don't animate. Game is super buggy. I'm just blown away at how they could put out such a bad product year in and year out.

    Not a terrible game on its own. Just the exact same game with absolutely no changes for close to a decade. The fact that EA expects their fan base to pay $60+ for a yearly roster update is beyond insulting. The amount of effort put into this review supercedes the entire time put into developing this game.

    This game is pretty crap. Everyone saw it coming. It's littered with glitches, spelling mistakes, missing and neglected details and an overall lack of care for the game. It's disheartening to load up a totally different sports game, and see a much heightened level of love put into that game than Madden.     I deleted the game after only playing for an hour. The game runs horribly on the PS4 Pro with constant frame dips. This is surprising since Madden 20 ran at a stable 60fps despite looking practically the same graphics wise. I’ve encountered a bunch of game breaking bugs and glitches which shows to me that they didn’t put care or effort into this game.     Don’t expect anything new from this game. Obviously 90% of every sports game is a reskin, but this isn’t a reskin. They made the game worse. This isn’t simulation football. This is NBA Live 14 in football form. If EA is still making football games at this quality in 5 years, NFL games will be dead.

It's been 4 years with the frostbite engine and it's still the same garbage, animations are a mess, ball physics is still awful, playing vs cpu is like taking a candy from a baby, there's 0 attention to detail, players ai is as bad as it's been for the last 15Plain and simple it's advertised as a football simulation game but it doesn't look like football and doesn't play like football.     Players look like **** not only do they not look like their real life counterparts but it looks like they are using only one body type, so you can barely distinguish a Db from a lineman.

    The worst is that they're trying to pretend it's a game as service that will improve according to users feedback.... this is just infuriating, **** OFF !!! the players have been telling what they want for over a decade and it's the same garbage every year. 10+ years and i still have to turn on my fking ps2 and play espn 2k5 if i want actual simulation football.

    I remember how great this game use to be. Its the same game from the last 5 6 years at least. Its Glitchy, slow and buggy menus. Its the sNs exact game play its just a cooy and last mess. You could at least bring back FRANCHISE MODE already. All they focus on is that stupid card game to make money from dummies willing to pay .

    Pretty simple. It's terrible you don't need to play this. Madden 20' is no different just the rosters which can be changed yourself it's virtually the same game with a new game mode. It's pretty clear these games have become nothing more than cash grabs. I'll be playing ESPN NFL 2k5 until EA cleans this bs up.

    0 is the only thing this game deserves. EA have gotten lazy with their sports games over the past decade and their track record on recent games isn’t that good either. EA is a prime example of Corporate Greed. They spend a full year on Madden and FIFA just to release the equivalent of a 2 week patch for other games. The new Face of The Franchise storyline is terrible. It’s a step up from Madden 20s FOTF but it feels the exact same. The new Yard mode is basically a mobile game implemented into a Triple A title. Oh yeah, and those mouth pieces that players have been asking for for years, that’s exclusive to this mode. Franchise is still untouched and MUT is still as greedy as ever. Personally, I think 2K would do a much better job with the NFL license. Sure, they’re also being lazy with NBA 2K but at least they have a quality product before they do so. Do I think it’s worth to buy this game? No. Not in the slightest. NFL games from 2005 have way more content and enjoyment than Madden has had in its lifetime. NFL2K5 is a prime example of this. It’s also exactly what Madden isn’t: Simulation. Sure EA might have the contract for a Simulation NFL game, but they completely ignore the Simulation aspects of the game and instead only put their time and effort into microtransaction filled modes. If you currently own Madden 20 and are thinking about getting Madden 21, don’t. Throw that thought right out of your head. There’s too many good games coming out later this year and next year to buy instead of wasting $60 on Madden 21 #NFLdropEA… Expand

    Madden NFL 21 is another blatant recycling of last year’s edition of the „simulation“ of the American football. Sadly, most of the modes remained the same. Gameplay received a few minor tweaks, and in the end it still persists as a cash grab not worth anybody’s time.

    For NFL diehards, there remains hundreds of gaming hours at your disposal in Madden 21. These same diehards – much like players of EA’s NHL and Sony’s The Show – will be left with the impression they’ve played this game before, however.
