    This game sure is fun to play! I couldn't believe my eyes, it runs so well on my old PS4 and looks awesome. The game doesn't force you to do quests or explore- you're free to do whatever you want. One can just walk around, play flute and compose Japanese poems.

    I will begin my story with the fact that the game fully met all my expectations from it. Game graphics and graphic design are of an incredibly high standard. The plot is good, but not good. Lots of fighting styles. I liked how the developers did the side missions.

    This game gets a 10. Ghost of Tsushima is a breath of fresh air in a world where AAA titles are trying to leach every penny out of their player base. This game might deserve a 9 but I honestly haven't been this immersed in a game for years.     When Ghost of Tsushima was announced few years ago, I was very interested in playing it. Unfortunately, as time passed by, I started losing interest.
    It's been more than a year since Ghost of Tsushima came out and I finally decided to give it a try.
    It might come off as a surprise to some of you, but the narrative is a mixed bag in my opinion. While the premise is interesting, the    When Ghost of Tsushima was announced few years ago, I was very interested in playing it. Unfortunately, as time passed by, I started losing interest.
    It's been more than a year since Ghost of Tsushima came out and I finally decided to give it a try.
    It might come off as a surprise to some of you, but the narrative is a mixed bag in my opinion. While the premise is interesting, the conclusion is predictable - albeit beautiful - and I couldn't get emotionally invested to certain plot points because the delivery wasn't engaging at times. Overall, Ghost of Tsushima's story is alright; it's not bad but it's not very good either.
    The gameplay is amazing though; it's probably my favorite part of the game! it's varied, it's challenging, it looks cinematic and it feels very satisfying.
    The music is great, the cinematography is fantastic and the visuals are some of the best I've seen in any videogame.
    Also, I love the way this game utilizes the touch pad.
    As I said before, the world looks gorgeous, however, the quest design is monotonous for the most part.
    The characters are likable and their Tales are quite intriguing, but most of them are forgettable.
    The stealth lacks depth and there are surprisingly many forced stealth quests in the story.
    Lastly, there's not enough enemy variety and the unskippable dialogue makes the dull side-quests even more tedious.

    Pros:
    + Serviceable plot
    + Exciting and cinematic gameplay
    + Really good music
    + Superb visuals & cinematography
    + Fascinating utility of the touch pad

    Cons:
    - Weak storytelling & unmemorable characters
    - Repetitious quest design
    - Shallow and forced stealth
    - Poor enemy variety & unskippable dialogue

    Despite the fair amount of flaws, Ghost of Tsushima is still a good game; it's fun to play, it looks and sounds incredible, it has a decent plot, some cool mechanics and a massive map filled with content.

    Do I recommend it?:

So we have a great story of the "first" shinobi who gave up his past to create better future and on the way we meet lots of colourful characters that will help us in this journey and we might help them as well in their struggle. Overall I would recommend this game to everybody and 100% I will play it again (not seeing much sense in ng+ and connecting it sometimes with soulslike which I love but this is great story game) I can see a great series leading to 15th century when we might see story of Iga Province.
    I've finished the game with all side stories and upgrades etc. and I have few minor issues with this game :
    - Walking on ropes is very risky and not as smooth as it should be. Game require you to jump from one rope to another even if they are almost connected which might cause a fault.
    - There would be great if we could turn off the yellow bird. I get the intentions but it became monster to what it should be, instead of big arrow pointing us to the place we have big arrow with annoying sound. Wind is enough and it's one of the best mechanics in game.
    - Quiver is something that bothers me in every game like this. I would love to see it being off when we take out the bow so we can have nice neet aesthetics.
    - Dialog options are often not intuitive. I couldn't predict and sometimes was surprised what my option lead me to.    … Expand

    This game can br repetitive if you're trying to get the platinum, but if you ignore all that and just play through the story... It is one of the best stories in a game I have experienced.

    The gameplay mechanics take a bit of learning but as soon as you get the hang of it, you'll be taking down enemies with ease.

    First platinum trophy ever, I've never been one to 100% a game but the world and combat was so good by the time I finished the game I was only short a few trophies short. It did anything "groundbreaking" but does everything right in being a perfect game

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. GRAPHICS – 10/10 // The first thing you always notice about a game are its looks, and this game’s graphics are incredibly appealing. Sometimes I would just get lost in the world just riding around and seeing what the game had to offer to the eye. If graphics are the first things you look at for a game, this one will not leave you disappointed. From the open landscapes, the calm waters, right down to the leaves on the tree, the game is an artful masterpiece. I am excited to see this game ported to the PS5 and see what graphical improvements can be made to an already gorgeous looking game.

    MAIN STORY – 9/10 // If you want a decent story, this game is pretty much as good as any other revenge tale in gaming. You start the journey of Jin Sakai’s path to becoming the Ghost on the grounds of a losing battle against the Mongol Army, who seemingly take over Tsushima easily with their massive army that heavily outnumbers the Samurai. You meet several characters throughout the game that join your cause and question your methods as you stray away from some of the “battle with honor” teachings of the Samurai and adopt a quieter, ninja-like style of warfare. As Jin continues his path to becoming the Ghost, several flashbacks to his childhood provide some details to his motivations for fighting in this hybrid of stealth and samurai. Throughout his story, Jin is accompanied by several characters with their own stories, some already known by Jin, and some new faces in his army. Each of the main characters have their own side story that detail some of the actions and reactions they had during and after the Mongol invasion, which provide an extra level of depth to core group fighting by Jin’s side.

    GAMEPLAY MECHANICS – 10/10 // I personally love games that have a balance of action and stealth, and this game merges those two mechanics in a great way. Nothing gives me a greater satisfaction than being able to walk into a base and complete each quest without being detected. But as in many games, there are several ways to tackle each Mongol-controlled area that you come upon. The one-hit-kill standoff provides you a good start if you prefer the run-and-gun style of gameplay, and the samurai stances that you learn as you level up provide a manageable way to brute force your way through the different territories under Mongol control. As you level up, you will gradually get different samurai stances that let you take out different types of enemies in an easier fashion, and changing stances as you counter enemies with shields, swords, and spears is a refreshing mechanic to a sword fighting game that made the gameplay that much more enjoyable. Plus, it is always nice to be able to get strong enough to not get destroyed by the brute enemy in every fight.

    EXTRAS – 8/10 // For me, if a game is going to have a lot of side quests and collectibles in the game, it is important to not overdo any of the extras to the point that it becomes too grindy and boring to grab everything. For the sake of this review, I’ve left the main character side stories out of this part of the review. Overall, the side quests and collectibles in the game are decent. Some of them can get a bit grindy (like the Fox Dens and Haikus), but for the most part, the quests provide extra gameplay that is fun and engaging for the player to do, plus rewarding with many of them providing upgrades and items to help the player progress easier in the game. Most importantly (for me at least), side quests are not a requirement for progressing the main story, like how in Assassin’s Creed Origin/Odyssey, you there are level requirements for each story mission, forcing you to do meaningless side quests to gain XP to move the story forward. In this game, you could complete the entire story without touching any of the extras in the game (highly do not recommend since, again, the extras of the game are decent). Also, the redeeming quality of chasing the many foxes around the map is at the end of the chase, you can pet the fox!

    OVERALL – 9.3/10 // Overall, while not perfect, this game is definitely one of the games of the year, and Sucker Punch definitely deserves to have their name thrown in the hat for potentially one of the better games to grace the PS4’s life cycle.    … Expand

    The story is simple in his main structure but the message and the metaphore behind are deep and heartbreaking: the collision between honor and pragmatism , life and death, love and duty...stunning.
    Amazing soundtrack and visuals, this is the only game were you    That's wat you called a great Samurai Game, combat system **** incredible, the absence of the "lock system" make it feel real.
    The story is simple in his main structure but the message and the metaphore behind are deep and heartbreaking: the collision between honor and pragmatism , life and death, love and duty...stunning.
    Amazing soundtrack and visuals, this is the only game were you explore the world following the nature and animals to get to points, original and beautiful.
    Not reach 10 for the absence of animations for general transitions, that was a little bit lazy but not a big problem.

    A big shoutout to Sucker punch for this beautiful game. Must play.
    What I liked: 1. Cut scenes. 2. Good story 3. Easy and fluid Combat.Very satisfying 4. Beautiful Locations 5. Great Costume design 6. Characters 7. Oh the way they used wind for guidance! 8.     what I didn’t like :

    1. Travelling becomes boring after a while, though the locations are stunning.
    Especially if you want to upgrade fully first. You gotta go through repetition of tasks and enemies and can't fast travel unless you explore them first. Maybe i felt that way because it was horse riding.

    2. Enemies are sometimes kinda dumb. Try it for yourself in all difficulty modes. It’s funny how in few scenarios you don’t get spotted at all .
    They don’t notice me when I’m just above them standing on huts or any elevated surface.
    Stealth could have been better, I get it that the enemies can’t see me when I’m just right above them few feet away in their field of view and I’m complaining about stealth but what I mean is being little more realistic. It was really funny when they were facing me and I was actually clearly visible when I was standing on a hut. But they can’t see me because I’m J(i)hn Cena.

    3. Assisted aim is sometimes annoying when you want to kill a specific enemy like archers first and there’s some dude right beside him or slightly closer to you.
    Locks on to the other guy instead.

    4. Enemy Ai could’ve been improved because there were times when I killed someone in their field of view close by and they didn’t care .

    5. There are only 5 types of enemies since the beginning
    It would’ve been better if they introduced them one by one through progression of story. (Correct me if I’m wrong because I upgraded first before diving completely into main missions, may be that is why I faced them early or maybe not.)

    6. Cutscenes every time I rescue a villager. OMG!

    7. I wish rage mode was as quick as in the legend mode. It felt a tad bit slow but balanced it with one shot kill. But not enough as you can't kill many, just a handful only if they are close.

    8. Few glitches here and there kinda bothered me when Jin’s shoulder armour plates and his bow were getting merged or sometimes going through his helmet and costume.
    Just nitpicking here. But just saying.

    These were just my observations. All these small things aside the game is really good, people who haven't played, be it good or mixed reviews, just get it and play .

    - A very bad enemy artificial intelligence.
    - Secondary missions almost all identical and repetitive where you will find yourself doing almost always the exact same thing but in no particular order what to follow the npc, check the footprints and kill the Mongols.
    -Secondary activities that quickly become repetitive and boring
    -Decent facial animations.
    -Little variety of enemies.
    -An empty and lifeless open world.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have to say, when I began to play this game, I expected very little, but I have to say I was proven wrong. The game is quite amazing and is probably one of the best I've ever played. The gameplay variety is great with a lot of freedom to choose between stealth or direct combat in most missions. The open world is a spectacle in it's size and beautiful graphics.

    However, the story tops all of this. The storyline in this game is an epic tale of sacrifice and questions what it means to be a warrior and what defines a hero. Jin Sakai, after realizing that he cannot face the Mongol invasion with honour and expect to win, abandons his honourable samurai methods he was taught and becomes The Ghost in order to beat the Mongols, sacrificing his honour. In the end, Jin saves Tsushima, but he is branded a traitor and his clan is disbanded, making him a samurai no longer. Everything he had before the events of the game is gone, his honour, his clan, his old friendship with the swordsman Ryuzo and his relationship with his uncle, whom he is forced to face in battle when he is tasked with killing Jin. Jin survives but no matter what ending is chosen, his relationship with his uncle is forever broken. The story is truly heartbreaking.

    I recommend this game to fans of stealth games and normal swordfighting games.    … Expand

    As a big fan of the Way of the Samurai games (even the fourth one), I was patiently waiting for an immersive experience like this to come, along with some gorgeous scenery and a wicked tale to complement it. I had an absolute blast playing through this and still do to this day. The duels are very satisfying on the highest difficulty (playing through it when they added 'lethal' was evenAs a big fan of the Way of the Samurai games (even the fourth one), I was patiently waiting for an immersive experience like this to come, along with some gorgeous scenery and a wicked tale to complement it. I had an absolute blast playing through this and still do to this day. The duels are very satisfying on the highest difficulty (playing through it when they added 'lethal' was even more fun), there's a feeling of enjoyment when you finish off your opponent when they're low on health and you execute that perfect parry for the finale. I just had to play with Japanese audio dialogue, it fits really, really well. It just feels right to pace yourself through this game and soak in Tsushima. I spend that extra few minutes in the hot springs and I only wish the amazing music would continue as you relax. Exactly the same with the haikus, it promotes a very chill atmosphere in-between the chaos of Tsushima's invasion and I appreciate that a lot.

    I hope to see this released to other platforms someday with perhaps a next-gen upgrade? Beautiful game which should have received GotY.    … Expand

    Ghost of Tsushima is my favorite game of 2020 and one of my favorite games of all time.
    Never before did melee combat feel so good and satisfying. Never before did medieval Japan look this good.
    And not only does this game provide a fantastic singleplayer expirience the devs also implemented an awesome coop mode for free.

    I really liked the game. Gameplay is very fluent. It is not the most realistic game in regard to fights but it is quite enjoyable. Only negative thing for me was about the story. Although the story gets more interesting in the end, it is not as interesting as the gameplay mechanics. Especially I found the side quests boring. I could not really get invested in side quests.     Entre los puntos positivos debo destacar:

    - El sonido el cual está muy bien hecho desde los sonidos ambientales como el soplo del aire, las pisadas etc...hasta el de los enemigos
    - La fiabilidad de la cultura japonesa especialmente con los samurai y su código bushido
    - La iluminación ambiental
    - El color donde se nota especialmente en sus paisajes con por ejemplo árboles coloridos otoñales y sus hojas cayendo
    - La jugabilidad: Quizá lo mejor que tiene el juego ya que es muy inmersiva y divertida e incluso asombrosa donde puedes estar horas jugando y creerte un samurai de verdad
    - Modo foto: El de este juego es increíble
    - Personalización con detalles como mejorar una armadura al máximo pero elegir la forma que mas te guste de la armadura manteniendo las mejoras conseguidas
    - Muchos campamentos que liberar
    - La historia y algunas misiones secundarias: Este punto podría estar realmente en un factor neutro pues aunque la historia está muy bien per no es tampoco la mejor y las he visto mejores y es posible que en un tiempo no la recuerdes pero como comienzo de lo que podría ser una saga está bien
    - Barro: Es decir, ver como al andar te manchas la ropa y si te mueves mucho por el suelo rodando te empaparás de barro

    Pero también presenta aspectos negativos entre los que podemos encontrar:

    - Misiones secundarias: El juego contiene muchas misiones secundarias pero muchas de ellas son algo repetitivas teniendo que hacer casi siempre lo mismo ( matar mongoles, liberar x zona). Muchas cosas que haces en las misiones secundarias las puedes hacer tu en modo libre liberando asentamientos
    - Gráficos: Si, he de ponerlo aquí. A ver, los gráficos no son malos pues seria mentir ya que están bien pero con lo visto en juegos exclusivos como Uncharted, horizon zero dawn, spiderman, god of war o the last of us 2 ( Aunque realmente la cúspide de gráficos en ps4 se alcanzó con este juego) estos se quedan muy atrás y se puede observar en texturas especialmente del paisaje o del suelo. Se libra en los modelados de personajes. Incluso se aprecia un gran dowgrade si recuerdas lo mostrado en el e3 de 2018
    - Muy bien al principio pero repetitivo tras varias horas: El juego está muy bien y lo disfrutarás mucho pero si le hechas muchas horas empezarás a ver que se vuelve repetitivo siendo todo lo mismo. Mi recomendación es una vez completado el juego las secundarias que te falten hazlas poco a poco porque se te puede hacer pesado
    - Físicas que podrían haber sido mejor
    - IA muy buena al entablar combate pero torpe si aun no te han detectado donde perfectamente puedes andar a su lado y ni se enteran o verte y tirarse un rato hasta que se dan cuenta que estás

    En general estamos ante un gran juego y lo que supone el nacimiento de una nueva saga que deja muchas puertas abiertas especialmente con su final que presenta puntos muy fuertes como su jugabilidad pero que se nota que escasea en otros puntos como físicas, gráficos, algunas historias etc...especialmente cuando ya llevas varias horas jugando y es precisamente su jugabilidad lo que tras varias horas mantiene el juego en pie. El juego es divertido y te gustará como ya he dicho pero tiene puntos a mejorar y si lo consigue en sus siguientes entregas estaremos ante una gran saga que pasará a la historia de los videojuegos. Die Story ist sehr gut, die Grafik des Spiels sieht unfassbar gut aus, die Charaktere sind toll geschrieben und das Kampfsystem ist perfekt balanciert, es ist nicht zu anspruchsvoll, aber auch nicht zu leicht und wen man erst einmal den Dreh raus hat schnetzelt man sich so butterweich durch die Mongolenherden, was einfach extrem Spaß bringt.
    Ein absolutes Muss für jeden PlayStation Besitzer und ich freue mich schon auf die PS5 Version.

    The first few hours of the game really blew me away. Especially in terms of Open World, as it is what the Assassin's Creed game should have become when going full Open World.
    GoT is not the most beautiful game on a technical point of view, but it certainly is in terms of artistic direction. Some panoramas are just breathtaking.
    Another very good point is the combat system, which is really intuitive, brutal and cool as hell. Who doesn't want to be a samurai really?
    One thing that worried me at first was the choice for a non-Japanese dev to make a game set in medieval Japan. Many things could go wrong here. But thankfully, the devs chose the hommage to Japanese cinema rather than a purely realistic approach. It results in a game that doesn't try to be what it is not.
    But! But an inconvenient to the last point is that it never really tries to be more than an hommage to japanese cinema, and especially movies by the great master that was Akira Kurosawa. The story of GoT touches some themes addressed in Japanese cinema, but never digs very deep. It results in a story that is a bit too conventional. It is not helped by the fact that Toshiro Mifune, the main actor of GoT is not.
    Finally, although I was impressed by the first two parts of the island, by the time I got to the third, I was a bit fed up. The game became a drag and the constant repetition of activities typical of Open World games bore me. The game just wasn't fun anymore. To make things worse, the last part of the island is by far the least beautiful and interesting. It kind of ruined the experience for me.
    Also, I was expecting a decent ending, but again, it was just too "I've seen this 50 times in movies before".
    My verdict is that GoT could have been the best Open World game yet, but it falls short of this promise by the end of the adventure. It's a very good game, but not a great one...    … Expand

Le quest secondarie sono interessanti da portare a a termine perché vanno ad approfondire il background dei vari npc. Mentre le storie riguardanti le leggende sono quelle che mi sono piaciute di più avrei gradito che c'è ne fossero altre. Although I say its amazing, but there's some frustrating issue or notes for this game: 1.    Bought it on Black Friday sales since it has a very good rating and people say it's the best game of 2020.

    Let me get straight to the point, the game is absolutely amazing as. The world of ghost of Tsushima is stunning and thank you for the Japanese option as it makes the game better with it.

    Although I say its amazing, but there's some frustrating issue or notes for this game:

    1. Combat: WEAK but FUN. Well, I understand why people (especially the one that have played Sekiro) disappointed with GoT as the combat system is very simple. Example: Every boss has the same fighting mechanic, except Khotun Khan (the final boss). After you parry them, you can attack them twice, if you go for the 3rd strike, they will dodge and counter or deliver a deadly attack. For the Mongols (minions), they only have around 9-10 role with different fighting mechanics. So, the combat will become very repetitive and compare to Sekiro, the combat is lacking of variation and challenges. Another addition to that, you have many ninja tools at your disposal which makes the character way too OP in my opinion.

    2. Story: Not appealing. Finish it today and not having a memorable moments with it. On the opposite, the side-story is quite good. I'm more invested in the Tales of Ishikawa and Masako. Will need more work on the narrative side (Learn from your brother, Naughty Dog).

    3. Platforming: Completely BAD. You need to play camera for moving to another rock when climbing and the camera can affect how far you jump from one another (for left or right cases only). The "Crawl Under" seems buggy as sometimes I'm getting trapped inside. The funny thing is, If I move backward when crawling under, I can get out easily which doesn't make any sense. Something also doesn't feel right with the ladder as sometimes I can't get it work so I need to run near the ladder to be able to descend or jump to ascend.

    4. Side Quests: Boring. I did it only for trophy and for reaching the title of "Ghost of Tsushima". Almost all of them need to be tackle in the same way. Tracking, Running, Killing and Done. Don't get me wrong but helping hostage in the middle of the road still way better than doing all those side quests.

    5. Legends: Has it been dead already? I cannot get another player while matchmaking. It seems gonna be a lot of fun thou but I never able to play with another player as the system keep finding players for me.

    6. Difficulty: WEAK. Play it on hard mode and didn't feel any challenge at all. Change it to lethal and still there's no major difference. The only differences are the enemy's attack are more punishing (2 hit only) and enemy less likely to idly waiting for you to kill his friend, so they tend to charge towards you together. But, back to the combat system, it still no challenge at all as I was expecting a new fighting mechanic instead of giving a buff to the enemy.

    Well, seems many but all the lacking points still doesn't match many positive traits in the game.

    Conclusion: This game is absolutely amazing and I think this game will be well accepted to players who like stealth game, open-world, exploration and of course Japan in general.

    I didn't recommend this game if you like story-driven or narrative game and Sekiro player that have high expectation of GoT combat system.    … Expand

    Greatest game of all time. 100% recommend. Great gameplay and story. People say the stealth is bad, but I love it.

    Best graphics I've ever seen, twist and turns throughout the story, it actually questions what you would do in the situation. The in-game weather is determined by how much honor you play with. No need to wonder around on the mini map as the wind guides you. Combat techniques are great. Theres really nothing bad you can say about this game.

    Ghost of Tsushima is a flawed, but fun, game. While the gameplay itself was solid, and the story was decent, I definitely expected a lot more from Sony’s final PlayStation 4 exclusive. It had enough to keep me hooked, but lacked the polish we’ve all grown to love from a Sony first party game.

    Ultimately, it feels like the game could have benefited from a smaller scope or a more linear structure. Focus on the duels could have created a more engrossing product, especially if it honed in on the narrative for a more concise and cinematic experience. But as it stands, Ghost of Tsushima is another AAA open world title and doesn’t seek to define itself as anything other than that.
