Im lazy and not about to write a whole bunch but this game is fantastic! Ive played ff 7, 10, 12, 13 and spinoffs. And would have liked ff 15 to be more classic turn base. But I do like god of war and devil may cry style combat and this game still somewhat blends turn base and action combat into one!! But its mostly fast action.

The world, characters, some quests, most story missions, about half the music and especially the COMBAT is fantastic!!!! The better you get the more stylish you can be and can get better at controlling the camera smh lol but its not that bad maybe 20 percent of the time it will get wonky on tall skinny enemies. The story is meh, I geuss you have to watch kingslaive but the voice acting is really good most often and ive never really heard anybody say something cheezy, which is good for newcomers. Well prompto might but his crew calls him out on it lol this game is really an 8.5+ for sure!!!

Only drawback is imo very slight camera issues, frame stutter slightly in altissia city on ps4, some areas are a little empty, only some. Other areas have monsters spawning often but where one dungeon was huge and not many enemies or structures, (I think i went there early before a side quest boss was ready) but other dungeons are awesome!!

BTW!!!! Most of the fun isnt necessarily from the story but alternate paths, taking your time exploring and the side quests that have some of the best bosses. Well, besides the 2nd half of the game has some over the top fights! Really fun! And im on ch. 12 and 55 hours in. This is a legit opinion fellas. I gave 10 to bump it up to my 8.5+

The map is huge and full of life compared to those stressing long hallways of FF-XIII. Now one of the things that makes this game amazing is the gameplay. It's easy to use, adjustable and comfortable both for those who knows the game and those who has just started. On the one hand is pretty exciting having Multiplayer in future, it'd be a great experience, if they make something worth it.
Unfortunately we also got bad news, some missions are way too repetitive, so that means you gotta run long distances to get to your mission checkpoint and tends to get exhaustive sometimes but is an open world game, where you can enjoy full detailed landscapes, random battles and funny comments from the characters. We can't let these small details ruin us the game. We know it has been a long wait and we expected more but let's give a chance, I'm pretty sure you will enjoy it.

Firstly i started off with Final Fantasy VIII and that was my childhood and i had high expectations with this game with the amount of hype and gorgeous graphics leaked online, and it did not fail to deliver. You can run around forever exploring a beautiful and rich world filled with monsters, people and cars. Final Fantasy XV has really delivered in terms of stunning graphics and a beautiful fantasy world keeping the old elements in the game.

Story: Story wise what more can you expect from a Final Fantasy series with your good looking anime type heroes and you are destined to save the world from disaster so no problems here what so ever.

Combat: Maybe the only possible fault i can point out, at times during battles the camera angle is a bit awkward causing confusion but it is easily fixable and corrected if you tilt your analog stick. The functions in each type of weapon you can use is quite fun despite the easy combos because you can go at enemies differently using different tactics along with companions. The companion combos is a major plus for meas you progress in the game you see the brotherhood of the characters surrounding Noctis hence seeing your friend having the final blow or assisting you in battle is very satisfying.

Graphics: Nothing to say but just beautiful and what you would expect from a Final Fantasy game. Surely PC gamers will complain frame drops here and there, but god dammit enough with the PC vs Console. Each to their own.

Content: 100+ hours of game play especially if you enjoy exploring you will definitely not be bored at all, so many quests and difficult bosses to hunt.

I love playing this game so much i highly recommend anyone giving it a go!

this game's biggest flaw is the expectations it garnered. Nothing that that came prior to it can quite compare to it, and all nostalgia aside no Final fantasy managed to offer the experience at hand. Final fantasy xv is a great game with an impressive artistic section and wonderful graphics effects. A great open world full of things to do. The second half is linear and offers the strength that final fantasy xv needed. Is a huge game with very intense moments. Good characters and grand final. The endgame is very broad and fun. I recommend it.

The friendship between Noctis, Prompto, Gladio, and Ignis is amazing as well and really brings a "live" feeling as you travel through the world. On to the combat and it just feels extremely fluid, the link strikes, warping, aerial combat, etc just leave you with a badass feeling. And if you're worried the game will just be button mashing, don't, just go find a gameplay video from a person good at the game and compare it to someone bad at that game and you will see just how amazing the combat actually is. As for the graphics of the game they aren't super spectacular but the visuals are still very pretty and will most likely leave you taking in the view occasionally. The story is mixed from person to person so i'm going to just say experience it yourself, you may like it or you may not, but you will still probably enjoy a lot of what the game has to offer. Also little details in the game make the experience so much better. For example Prompto is always taking random pictures with his camera, at first I thought this was "meh..." but then I realised that as a MMORPG player I love taking screenshots. Saving the best photos and looking the album at the end of the game will be very cool IMO.

The OST is amazing like in every Final Fantasy, combined with great environment design makes a very immersive experience.

Square did a great job and I think everyone should try it before screaming that "It's not FF because it's not turn based".

The only thing that I'm missing is the 'hard' difficulty option, it should be available from the start for veteran players even if it was just HP/Damage increase from enemies. Overall 10/10 though, I'm 12 hours into the game and loving it!

To add to all this, follows an excellent story, a coming of age one, which follows noctis on his adventure to reclaim his homeland.

The gameplay itself is fantastic with some of the best action game-gameplay ive seen in a game, this completely annihilates all RPG competition from other generic shooters like MGS5 or bland action games such as the witcher 3. Even during battle the bond you have with your party members never falters.

To add to all of this, finally, the developers themselves have put so much effort and work into this, talking to the fans over the period of two years, its truly a magnificent game.

We are in front of a great epic tale narrated exquisitely, one of those that recalls the great episodes of the franchise such as FF IV or FF VI.

However, where FF XV really shines is in its post-game adventures, where the world is laid upon us to explore and disover its many secrets, hidden bosses, ultimate weapons and more which takes around 300 hours to complete.

An epic Odyssey of dethrone, realms conflicts, maturation and dramatic flavor where we've got to face our destiny against a whole Empire, and the entire World itself.

I can honestly say that I've never approached a game with more excitement, apprehension, and hype as I have with this one, but after playing it I can honestly say that it was well worth the wait. Final Fantasy 12 was the last entry that I truly enjoyed and unfortunately because of the tragedy that was and forever will be known as the Lightning trilogy, it's been 10 years since I've been able to sit down and be excited about a main entry Final Fantasy game. Sorry but I don't play MMOs. I'm sure they are great but they're just not for me. The original sprite based Final Fantasy games 1 through 6, and the PlayStation 1 classics will always be near and dear to my heart. They were my favorite games growing up and they will probably always be my favorite games of all time, but that said Final Fantasy 15 feels like the progression that should have come after Final Fantasy 12. It is the perfect blend of everything I enjoy about modern day Western open world RPGs mixed with very essence of what makes jrpgs and Final Fantasy in general great. It even mixes in a few elements from games outside of the RPG genre and is obviously influenced from games like Uncharted and Shadow of the colossus which is definitely a plus in my book.
From the gameplay to the story and everything in between this game is a complete masterpiece and although there are areas where you can see some of the results of a game that's been in incubation for 10 years, the pros far outweigh any of that and I can honestly say with great confidence that my excitement in this great franchise that is Final Fantasy is fully restored!

Honestly it's pretty much the best game I've ever played. Conan "Cuck" O'Brian blatantly lied in his "review" of the game. Everything is amazing, the gameplay is 10/10, and the graphics are so good that even Crysis looks bad in comparison.

    Objectively imho it's perfect

If you love brawler Action games, you will like or maybe even love the combat in FFXV. It is that good. This game is a 9.5 in it's current state( a few minor bugs and gripes), but giving a 10 to offset a hater or two.. Now if you are on the fence, here is a few things to keep in mind that answer some of the haters critiques.

    1. Story- It starts a little slow and takes a few hours until you can feel the flow of the game/ combat. Stick with it! The combat becomes addicting and the world starts to become alive after 3-5 hours. Do side quests, complete hunts, collect gear, do side dungeons make the experience your own! No need to rush.

    2. Graphics/ development cycle: Yes there are a few moments where the graphics look slightly off for AAA budget title. Again just stick with it because I swear they get better and the world becomes more dynamic. As I progressed I had more and more wow that looks AMAZING moments. Again, this game has been in development for 10 years ... 10 years!! That fact is also a positive because with a 10 year dev. cycle comes ton of depth and hidden goodies/ things to do. This game is HUGE!

    3. Characters: Embrace the JRPG protagonists/ antagonists and the weirdness that comes with a game like this. Once you do, you will find their humor and development enriching. There is a ton of depth here. Get past preconceived notions of looks and instead explore the emotions and motivations that lay beneath the surface... they are present in this game and how you interpret the events unfolding is your own unique experience. This way of experiencing a JRPG leads to more rewarding overall experience.

    4. Watch Kingsglaive/5 animated shorts: They add a lot of background for what is going on. It makes the initial wtf is going on moments way less and adds depth to certain characters popping in and out (Example and very minor spoiler: I freaked during that early moment when you see Titus at King Regis side when Noct is leaving on his trip. Only someone who watched Kingsglaive will understand that relationship this early in the game. Two total bad asses with intertwined fates.)

This is a great game, on the brink of an all time great. FF is back folks, deal with it.

FFXV is easily the game of the year in my opinion. I'll admit that I was skeptical of watching one of the most beloved franchises of my childhood move towards a "hack and slash" RPG. I'll admit that I was skeptical of watching one of the most beloved franchises of my childhood move towards a "hack and slash" RPG. Lots of terrible games, such as Dragon Age 2 for instance, have put such a sour taste in my mouth for this genre that I found myself bracing for the worst. I'm really glad that has not at all been the case so far with FFXV.

At this point i've sunk about 10 hours of gameplay into the game so far (I haven't been able to put it down since it came out last night) and I've loved every minute of it. Square really nailed this game. The combat is surprisingly fluid and fulfilling, I love the secondary jobs each character has and have very much enjoyed the massive open world with side quests, treasure hunting, dungeons and crafting material spawns. It seems that Square Enix took some of the best parts of previous final fantasy games I loved and expertly crafted them all into one masterpiece.

The hunt system carried over from FFXII, which was easily the best part of that game. The hunt system in FFXV is every bit as satisfying as it was in FFXII, if not more.

The sphere grid upgrade system has been massively improved from FFX. There are now multiple sub categories that allow you to upgrade your crew as you see fit, whether that would be focusing on battles, exploring, jobs or whatever way you want to play.

The magic system is ported in from FFVIII, which I'll admit I used to hate back when VIII came out, but they've refined the draw system to nodes that grant you 60-80 of a specific element and then you can craft whatever spells you want from your menu.

Outside of that, the chemistry between Noct and his friends is amazing, the banter they have throughout the game has been very pleasing and fun to experience, and I very much enjoyed Promto's random terrible "beat boxing" of the final fantasy victory music after some battles. The music is outstanding in FFXV, and being able to listen to all of the old FF songs while driving in your car just makes the music that much better.

Many of the bug-bears other people have had with the story or with the car don't really bother me. I've been able to follow the story just fine so far, and while the car does feel like it is on rails to a certain point, I want to point out you CAN still wreck it. I had just started playing and finally finished the missions to get my fancy car all fixed up and went to take it out for a little test drive in manual mode, and I made it to the first turn and ran it straight into a barricade causing it to have to be repaired once again. 10/10. Also, I'm glad the car doesn't go everywhere, otherwise there would be no need for Chocobos to even make an appearance in FFXV, and if the car did go everywhere on the map, people would just complain that there is no use for Chocobos.

Either way, this game is a solid 10/10 for me. I'm glad that after 10 years I can finally get excited about such a beloved franchise again.

Also I'm about 10 hours in, having a great time with the combat, and I'm still fighting monsters that give me a run for my money. There's a borderline Monster Hunter level of diversity here. The sidequests are a nice change of pace, the main cast is fun, and the open zone approach to level design makes the world feel big but not empty. It really seems like this was an earnest attempt from a new director to make people excited about Final Fantasy again, and for me it really worked. It's nice to have a game that makes me grin from ear to ear, and setting this next to this year's Skyrim re-release shows off just how far open world RPGs have come. Expand

Aside from that this game is simply amazing, and has exceeded any of the expectations I had for over the course of 10 years, when it was first announced as Final Fantasy Versus XIII. The graphics are fantastic, and look very real even on my base PS4. I do have HDR enabled as well, and I've had no issues with frame rates, or poor animations. The combat I feel is much more improved and streamlined than in previous Final Fantasy's that had similar battle systems. The open world is great to explore, and I'm always finding hidden treasures as I run around doing quests or monster hunts. Though a lot of complaints about the driving have been lodged and I get it I find it to not be as annoying as others may think. I still have control of the driving even in auto mode to sop, and pick up items. The story has been engaging the more I play it, and the actors really bring the characters to life in my opinion.

My advice is don't listen to the negative reviews from players as they're more than likely not use to Final Fantasy in general, are put off by its drastic change compared to other iterations, or just plain like to troll to lower the score. Try the game for yourself, or ask to see a Share Play, so you get an accurate idea of what to expect in order to best determine if you really can see yourself playing it or not.

I find the game play mechanics great. The real time battle is absolutely great.

I quite disagree with people saying that you'll just need to press "O" or "X" to win, since you have a lot to think on this fast paced battle system. You need to manage your mp, make sure that you parry and counter, also need to manage your "bros" health and use their techniques. Of course if you over level.

Also in some degree turn based battle system might feel you'll need to press "O" to win.

I love the banter between the characters.

To be honest the bros are the most developed character in the series. I have played Final Fantasy from IV to XIV except for XI and I ended up caring much more for the bros than any other character.

The villain is really good for me but not "Kefka great" since Kefka is the ultimate villain for me.

The linearity of the second half of the story felt like that was due to the fact that they wanted to retain most of the theme of Versus 13. Also if think even older Final Fantasy titles are linear. They just gives you an illusion of the open world through is over world.

The graphics is great. I'm not the kind of person that focus on frame rates or since for me. As long as I enjoy the game that what's matter. Definitely this game was worth the wait.

If keep using fast travel then you will definitely experience a lot of loading screens. but driving to from Liede to Duscae is pretty seamless with no loading screens.

10/10 Expand

The story may fumble here or there but it is still in typical FF fashion and if you're a series fan you will almost assuredly love it.

The Bad: Driving, while tolerable, still feels very on railsy and the majority of the time I just let Ignis take the wheel. Magic in comparison to earlier games in the series is a bit of a let down. That is not to say that it is not useful but it just is not that to fun to use.

Final Fantasy games have always been divisive and I think this is going to be one of them. If in the past you played FF7 or 8 and just thought it was too boring or confusing to get into don't spend money on this game. It won't be for you. That being said dont write it off if you're interested. Watch Kingsglave before hand and then dive in. As long as you have a fair amount of previous interest going in to it you will get over that Boring Jrpg early game content. Case and point , I've clocked 4 hours and It's just starting to flesh out.

It is definitely the best thing this franchise has put out since ps2 though. I am loving it personally.

Perfect game for pot smokers. Go for a long drive . Smoke a sesh.

Now it's not every time when a game comes along and makes me forget about work, school, life and friends. But I must say, this game has swept me away. It is in my opinion truly a once in a lifetime experience. And the journey to the end has been truly wonderful. I finished this game within 60 hours. And I still feel like I scratched the surface.

Would you recommend other people to buy

    Yes, yes I would

    Do you feel like the ending is justified?;
I feel like a lot of story elements are justified in the game, even if I don't like them.

    AWESOME!

First of all... when I look at how many POSITIVE reviews their are, MIXED, and NEGATIVE - It's clear that there are trolls spending their precious time to bash a game they probably haven't even played. Final Fantasy has a place in my heart, however I have not really enjoyed anything past FFX. XII was ok, but the change in battle system I didn't agree with. XIII I started but

Final Fantasy has a place in my heart, however I have not really enjoyed anything past FFX. XII was ok, but the change in battle system I didn't agree with. XIII I started but it was SO linear, battles were a little better, it still didn't feel like FF to me...Then comes FF XV

    COMBAT
Once I saw the battle system was closer to Kingdom Hearts, I figured OK. That's not bad. But they need to REALLY separate itself and pull of something special. OH BOY. After playing with this new battle system for hours I can't imagine going back to turn based now. The action/combos felt so good to land(although some camera problems caused a minor annoyance).

    OPEN WORLD
I wasn't TOO excited to get my GTA fix from a FF game. But it works. Its not how I imagined it would be, but that's not a bad thing. I don't NEED to go off roading like people are complaining about. I think the open world has opened up doors for how future FF games can be realized.

    STORY/CHARACTERS
Before you play the game, YOU MUST watching the BROTHERHOOD ANIME (free on YouTube) and watch the Kingsglaive film. Are they perfect? NO. But I actually enjoyed them much more than I thought. After you watch those and power up FFXV for the first time, YOU ACTUALLY CARE about what's going on and who these boys are. Story is epic. It's no FF VI or VII but It's up there with one of my favorites.

    MUSIC
Beautiful. Sweeping. Fun. It worked VERY well and I can't wait for my LE order of the soundtrack.

    GRAPHICS
Some textures are gorgeous, some are boring. I'm not the biggest critic on graphics if the gameplay/story/music can grab me emotionally that's all I need.

    10/10
This game is some of the most fun I've had in years in a game. For a long time fan of RPGs, and the fact that I've waited for so long for an RPG I am so excited about says a lot. Most people would doc a point or 2 for glitches/graphics or "confusing" story...however the minor glitches didn't bother me, and the story really isn't that confusing! NOW GO PLAY!

Gameplay is amazing, exploring is vast, sidequests are exciting, battle system is engaging, car modification is also really captivating players interest, fishing is also awesome way to have fun as well as cooking and picture hunting.

I have played FF 7,8,9,10,13, I think FF XV is by far most enjoyable compared to other series.

Great job for #Hajime Tabata and the developers, they do deliver awesome game and it is worth the wait and enjoy, do not rush the story, enjoy the trip and side quests.

Definitely going to order Season Pass soon.

Of course, the people that hate the game are just mad because its not the typical Final Fantasy. Story can be lacking, but if you play it again you can piece more of it together

first, no game is going to justify 10 years in the making not a single one so my opinion is to not think about that going into this.

I am absolutely loving this game so far, I don't understand some of the hate coming from some people. I used to love the old turn based games and haven't liked a FF game since X but I love this the combat seems simple and boring at first but as you

I used to love the old turn based games and haven't liked a FF game since X but I love this the combat seems simple and boring at first but as you progress and unlock more stuff the combat really does evolve. No its not perfect I didn't like the first chapter in the game, I just found it completely boring and I'm glad I stuck at it because as I got to chapter 2 things just felt lot more exciting, this is a modern FF game and so far I've loved what I experienced and want to just keep playing,

I think a lot of old FF lovers just cant or refuse to accept that the game is moving to new directions it has too do this like most games always do at some point. After being in development for 10 years I went into this expecting to be disappointed because a lot of hype games these days seems to disappoint, so far it hasn't you have to forget its taken so long because no game will justify 10 years in the making. I highly recommend this if your into JRPGs I always recommend watching the movie and anime as it does tell the story better

After so many years of development, Final Fantasy XV is not what I expected it to be. The universe is immense and beautiful and the characters are just fine. But the story is short and disappointing and the gameplay suffers from lack of depth. FFXV is a good game, but it can never bring the former glories back to the series.

Even as you reflect on the rarity of a blockbuster that's willing to take real risks, you'll be left with the uncomfortable realisation that ten years wasn't quite long enough, after all. Those jagged edges are, in the end, just a little too sharp. [Feb 2017, p.110]

Despite a divided feel, torn between what it was and what it plans to be, Final Fantasy XV has a lot to offer. If you're a diehard JRPG fan, then it's a positive sign that the series can cross over to a new format. And if you're just looking for an open world adventure, Final Fantasy XV certainly has that in spades, while doing just enough things differently to separate it from the likes of Dragon Age and Elder Scrolls.
