    This is the worst piece of ***** I ever spent money on. I love Fallout ... But this is terrible, I actually turned the game off and went back to Fallout New Vegas, after looking forward to a new adventure in the Fallout series, Fallout 76 is a massive disapointment.     I can’t believe a single person would give this game a 10, except maybe employees who are paid to do so. The game is completely broke, unfinished mess. The animation is terribly outdated, the combat is pretty lame, most of game is copy and pasted from fallout 4. It’s like Besthesda put no effort into making this game, and is a clear cash grab. The server stability is the worse I have seeI can’t believe a single person would give this game a 10, except maybe employees who are paid to do so. The game is completely broke, unfinished mess.     I don't know why people focus so much on this game's horrible optimization and other technical stuff, I think the biggest concern is that this game is absolutely boring, it's just boring af.     This game is by far the worst online/shooter ever. So much lag on ps4 it is unplayable, pvp system is broken so players can exploit and steal your progress. The pve is broken since what quests actually work as intended? There is no point in fixing this game so they wont.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I played it with low expectations and was kind of dissapointed when i confirmed my fears. Its graphics are basically as bad as Skyrim on release. Bethesda is known for its buggy games but its like they know that we bought the game to try it out and they have most likely made all their money back with all the effort they did copy pasting grass models and terrain models. the big picture is everybody is dead and NPC's are nonexistant as far as the millions of Mr. Hand robots are concerned. my only positive experience is that it feels enough like skyrim to say i had a nostalgia moment at the beginning and it all sunk in when i realized that the game itself is pretty empty when i play alone. its mostly not what i was hoping for. dont make promises of grand graphics and shove off the sonic 06 of fallout games at $60. not worth the price of dissapointment… Expand

    After years of waiting, I was so eager to play Fallout 76 when the day came. Now I am eager to fill the gap that Fallout 76 was supposed to fill. On day one it was almost unplayable, but living in denial leaves me giving the game the benefit of the doubt by saying, "theres probably a ton of people playing. It'll be better tomorrow." However, a week/two weeks later it hasn't improved.After years of waiting, I was so eager to play Fallout 76 when the day came. Now I am eager to fill the gap that Fallout 76 was supposed to fill. On day one it was almost unplayable, but living in denial leaves me giving the game the benefit of the doubt by saying, "theres probably a ton of people playing. It'll be better tomorrow." However, a week/two weeks later it hasn't improved. Glitches are found without even trying, the base building makes you want to pull your hair out, and sometimes your base just disappears! Thanks to these glitches that Bethesda has no urgency to patch. However they are adding items to the atom shop regularly, which is clearly of utmost importance to them. People are around level 200 already, carrying infinite things and dropping nukes left and right, which also makes the entire server lag. The game is pointless when it's that easy, which it is. A company like Bethesda shouldn't be able to get away with this mess. They simply don't care and it's very obvious. After 40 hours, I just can't force myself to enjoy it anymore. As a fan I feel like I've been betrayed, and it does not feel good.… Expand

There is almost no exploration worth anything. The quest line (if you even want to call it that) has you doing fetch quests from minute one. couple this with the fact that your not even fetching something to make an NPC happy andI spent 3 hours wandering a wasteland just to find a Pipe pistol and maybe 5-10 rounds of ammunition. Had this game not been dubbed a part of the Fallout series, I doubt it would have made it to post-production, much less receive a 5-star review on opening day from diehard fans hellbent onI have been a Fallout fan since the first RPG Side-scroller - and have witnessed the Fallout franchise achieved new heights with each reiteration. Fallout 76, however, has slumped to an all-time low. Had this game not been dubbed a part of the Fallout series, I doubt it would have made it to post-production, much less receive a 5-star review on opening day from diehard fans hellbent on buying anything Fallout related, but being much disappointed soon after. Between technical errors, such as game freezing and or crashing, to quests not beginning or progressing, to multiplayer problems, such as not being able to invite a friend into the party, or simply dropping out from a party mid-mission for no reason, to being killed by invisible foes, Fallout 76 could have used another year for production and game-testing before being released.

    The game crashes at least twice every three hours, with frozen screens, followed by a PS4 bluescreen immediately after opening the program and signing in again, black-screens that thrice have required me to manually restart the PS4 within the past week, or signing back in again to find myself 60% irradiated and or have dropped all my additional loot from dying while the game froze. Forced signing out mid-mission guarantees that the ammunition and materials used for repairs are not refunded so that I will have to grind to find more ammunition and materials in hopes that the game won't crash again.

    Despite being an entirely online experience, the multiplayer experience sucks. Trading is counterintuitive while dropping a paper bag at your feet works much better than the trading system. Multiplayer seems cool until you realize that each member of your group must pick up mission items individually and that doing so may guarantee that other people in your party, who did not pick up their holotapes, cannot continue with their missions. Players on my friend list often can't join me or even do so when we are in the same game, standing face to face, using the defunct "invite to party" option. Being dropped from a group or not being able to reassemble my four-player group after a system crash and hard reset has also been prevalent.

    Then there are in-game issues, too, with being attacked by invisible enemies that I can't target in VATS, can't see, and apparently can't shoot or hit despite being pinged to death by them. Power armor chassis can't be inspected to show the actual pieces I've attached while scrapping to gain modifications almost guarantees that none of the legendary weapons found could be additionally modded. Then there are invisible barriers, or running forward only to load ten steps behind where I had just run, or attacking rad-scorpions that have miraculously jumped on rooftops to attack my turrets, or teleport around instead of actually crawling so that I can't hit them.

    Fallout 76 has been a waste of money and time so far, and though I may play it for a few more days in hopes that Bethesda improves their game during the Christmas season... the set-up, storyline, and gameplay has fallen grossly short of their predecessors, and have soured my taste for future Fallout products.    … Expand

Having constant issues of disappearing bodies, broken quests, and a lack of immersion in the quest system I have little desire to continue playing. This is the last product I will ever buy from Bethesda until they have proven that they care about making polished, non scam games again. Absolutely pathetic. Unfortunately, due to this being a online only and multiplayer game, it removes all aspects of user end fixes and modding. This then requires Bethesda to launch a game in a working state. Clearly, it was not. This game has several game breaking bugs, and STILL HAS THEM. Every aspect of Bethesda currently is on fire at the time of writing this review. It is beyond comprehension that a AAA developer the size of Bethesda decided "Yea, we can launch this". Bugs in the B.E.T.A. are still present in the game, if that is any indication the level of effort Bethesda put into the actual game. When updates have to add features that the game should have already had, considering it is a multiplayer game, like: FOV, Push-to-talk, 21:9 support, online only servers, no server browser. I will not be supporting this game, and any future Bethesda games until weeks after release. Congratulations Bethesda, you lost a loyal fan. I've put over 1000 collective hours in F3. I can't wait until you give Obsidian the license for FNV2. At least they can make a good RPG.… Expand

    This game is a total crap. I don't understand how developers can be so lazy and greedy . And also I am shocked by Sony whose politics is not releasing undone **** games allowed this non-sense come to their platform. Greedy Japs... Hope Bethesda and Sony will learn a lesson from this!

    I have had to restart my character after reaching level 45, because the game locked up my PS4 during the main quest and when I logged back in the main questline was broken. Two weeks later still the same story. Admittedly, great graphics, great ambient sounds but by far the weakest story ever. Basically, follow the leader with no real purpose. Fallout is and always should be a single player (lone wanderer...) Fallout MMO has been described as 'non-canon' and II have played every Fallout since the original by Black Isle and am soooo disappointed by 76. So much potential...so little delivered. All of these made for great games. Running around the wasteland holding hands and singing kum-bah-yah...not so much. Very disappointed. Hope Fallout V will return to wasteland where I can once again save the world with my trusty hound by my side. Sadly, even Fallout Shelter has a better premise.… Expand

But fallout 76 is bad, just bad. i played till end. everyone who give good critics lie. i give this game a real chance. it crashes many many times, it lags, bad grapics, no npc, no story. pvp is crap. crafting is a pain. After i made it to the end i cannot start the nulear missile because of a bug, i had to do this stupid dungeon with endless respawning robots again. no, just no! why bethesta?i delete it immediatly. ET on Atari is a better game than this. you should forced to play this game as a punishment. you rob the people, and deserve the ****… Expand

    I even enjoyed No Mans Sky more than this piece of unfinished money collecting crap machine game.

    Bethesda should shame alot for this. I will never buy a game made or published by bethesda anymore!

    This is the biggest joke i ever saw in game industry in the 25 years i play games.

    It's not made for Fallout fans because it got rid of all of the best features from past Fallout games. it's not made for survival fans because the survival mechanics are beyond gimped. Who exactly was this made for? Failout 76 does absolutely nothing right. No wonder it was discounted 50% less than a week after release. Way to screw your fanbase Bethesda!

    Just made an account to give this mess 0/10. There is literally nothing but an empty world with repetitive enemies in it. Be bored alone, or play bored together with a friend. Not quite sure exactly where the enjoyment is meant to come from. It's not on steam because the developers/publishers didn't want the convenience of refunding to be available to consumers.

    I love Fallout so much, it is by far my favourite game series. But, I hate every thing about fallout 76, expert from the world, but it doesn't matter when the rest of the game is unplayable.

Outdated engine, the absence of NPC and plot - this is not a Fallout, this is not a game. I hope that Todd Howard will stop making new Fallout and sell game rights to CD Project Red.     The game had one of the most controversial launches from a AAA developer, with one of the most well-considered gaming title, with staunch, passionate players, that I can remember, and even in June 2019 I felt it best to put the game down to wait for them to do more 'recovery' on what should have launched as a fully-fledged product. Let's not forget, if a CD, DVD, App or other product, launched and was so poorly built it was unusable, we would be expecting refunds left right and centre. Stock would be pulled from stores or recalled to make appropriate fixes. Now clearly in the video game development world, it's fairly common place that games will launch less than perfect and try to fix with a Day 1 patch (erm, but why is that itself even okay???). But almost a year later, and having tried to join a session today, I received the same error regarding server access and my leveled character is still showing a 'Level 1' character on my name badge - a very small feature, one that I don't need, and one that doesn't work.

    Yet in spite of this, and a number of failings regarding making promises to limit microtransactions to cosmetic-only, I was hopeful that things would ultimately get better. Then they announced Fallout 1st. Now, i'm actually not interested in the features behind the paywall - I play alone, but online and just ignore other player characters - fine by me.

    But for £11.99 a month/£99 a year, Bethesda want to provide private(are they though?) servers, unlimited stash which allegedly plays child-catcher with your junk (...), a bunch of Atoms (to use on game advantage features...) and a few other things I've already forgotten about.

    Are we serious? Is Bethesda okay? That price is more than a Netflix subscription giving you access to thousands of hours of quality products (none of which stall, stutter, bug-out, boot you from the service). it's more than a Boomerang video game rental which would give you a new game to play every month. Hell, it's more than my PlayStation Plus annual membership which i brought for £37. These guys must be joking. If they think the subscription benefits are worth the subscription pricing, they need a new financial/marketing team.

    Ultimately - this game is a disappointment. I was hopeful and intending to play (i still will but. y'know, in umbrage) as I enjoy experiencing the Fallout worlds. But I just can't be hopeful for this game's future - unless Bethesda have access to market data or user research indicating we secretly enjoy being lied to, playing buggy games, and buying in-game items for game play advantage, that no one else is aware of - I don't see how they're going to keep, let alone increase, the player base and engagement in this game. Without doing so, I can't imagine it will be long before either something drastic changes at Bethesda, something drastically changes with the way they manage Fallout 76, or they decide it's not worth the return on investment and close access to vault 76 for good.    … Expand

    They murdered fallout and pissed on the ashes for a blatant cash grab. A firm screw you to whoever thought it was a good idea to release this. They took one of the most beloved franchises of all time and turned it into this crap. For the love of God just give fallout back to obsidian so we can get a game that's not hot garbage. This game is absolutely terrible.

While some improvements have been made since launch, they are vastly overshadowed by the painfully obvious micro and macrotransaction machine that it is. This product earned a score of "0" because of its irreparable damage to this beloved franchise which echoes across Bethesda's entire catalog. Bethesda hasBroken, bugged and incomplete. I hope to never see another Fallout or Elder Scrolls again because I do not want to see the abomination they become - a broken, bugged out, microtransaction machine that locks what the fan's want most behind scummy paywalls.     Don't ware your money, every time I attempt to play, It either crashes or I have to download a insanely large patch that takes ages to down, then breaks the game more anyway! I really would not recommend this to anyone.

    I'd been playing this garbage since launch, hoping it would get better. Bethesda continues to butt**** this game more and more breaking their promises and ignoring the community that is trying to help them fix it. But Lord Todd can't do nothing wrong, right? Down with Bethesda!!!!

    So utterly disappointing and flawed in every possible way… The first few hours, most of it can be ignored, and occasionally the flaws can be forgotten, but only briefly before they come storming back to the forefront. An awful, boring, empty, pointless experience. There is, however, a glimmer of hope. It's worth mentioning that there has already been a Bethesda title that was equally as unimpressive: The Elder Scrolls Online - but looking at it now, it has transformed into one of the best MMOs out there. There's always the hope the Fallout 76 develops the same way and becomes something special, but for now, that seems impossible. It's a world away from that.

    Fallout 76 isn't your typical fallout experience. You don't have NPCs or dialogue, but instead get real players that should fill this void - that ultimately fails to do so. It does some things right, but as of now I cannot recommend getting this game as long as it stays a broken and boring mess that it is right now.

    Fallout 76 is the series’ Freshman introduction into the world of online, multiplayer games. As a result, we are experiencing all of the awkwardness and clumsiness associated with that season of life. It is imperfect and a bit uncomfortable, but I see opportunity for Fallout 76 to be more than it presently it - to be a truly great, rich Fallout experience.
