    This game isn't for everyone but if you stick with it, the story will slowly unravel itself and build into one of the most amazing adventures you'll have within a video game. The mechanics are different and the world is strange but by the end, you'll be left with a connection to this game that is like no other.

    The atmosphere, music, and story this game contains is top notch. The gameplay loop is addicting and fun. I have nothing bad to say about this game, the only nit pick I could possibly say is that some characters dialog can be a bit annoying but I don't think that takes anything away from the experience overall. 10/10.

    Despite It's a single player game, but more like an co-op game than an other typical co-op game. Paving the way with other players is never been experienced in other games. Even just walking makes a path for others.

    This is probably the best game I have played all year. It’s so different to anything else, the attention to detail, the way the harsh world develops as the player does is truly amazing.     I'm not a huge fan of Hideo Kojima games by any means and read the reviews of this which made me sceptical, but decided to try for myself regardless...and glad I did! Absolutely loved it! This game is a pure work of art, everything looks amazing and is so polished , amazing graphics, beautiful music, beautiful moments of serenity and huge chaotic boss fights. It's all just so clever, you really have to plan and think things through, it's not just a simple delivery game as I was led to believe, if you not fighting harsh weather and terrain it's stealth avoiding the BTS or fighting of the mules. Combat when it occurs is great. Also I love how killing people has consequences. Just as I thought it was getting tedious , something new would spur me on , new equipment to make things easier, a story twist a new vehicle. Also I love that other players structures and equipment appear in your game a real sense of working together...and really help you out in tricky situations. I could go on but all in all an unforgettable experience and something truly different!… Expand

    It has a been years since the last time I played a meaningful game, the kind of game that makes you question your actions, feel responsible for them and keeps you thinking about it even when you're not playing.
    Death stranding is not about immediate gratification, it takes time to build up, and the more time you spend playing it the more you grow into it. The characters are not meaningless avatars, I always wanted to find out more about their history, and the more I found out, the more genuine feelings I got towards each of them.
    The visuals are stunning, the characters obviously look realistic, the landscapes I believe to be based on real ones and the gameplay, while the game is really a walking simulator, it's the best one I've experienced and actually works really well within the games context, I mean, we're playing as a delivery guy, so who else could make a masterpiece of game out of that??
    Another important key feature I want to mention is the sense of community while you're playing the game, even though you don't see the other Sam's around, you never feel alone, someone is sharing a ladder to make your life easier, a rope, motorcycle or putting up signs giving precious hints about the terrain ahead of you, it's marvelous in itself, really nicely done.
    I'll never forget the experience I had with death stranding. I'd like to thank to kojima and his team for creating such a GAME! I'm looking forward to see what's next.    … Expand

    A work of art, moving and beautiful, heart wrenching and devastating. It's unlike any game I've ever played before it. Even the few cornball moments were like an adorable nudge from Kojima. This is in my top 5 games and I've been playing for 24 years

    Un juego diferente a lo que nos han vendido últimamente, la historia perfecta con su belleza visual y sonora el gameplay muy realista y tal vez ahí es donde peca pero se acopla bien a lo que quiere demostrar Kojima que es una sociedad que ayuda a los demás. Дизайн локаций, музыка, уникальные механики и сюжет здесь сделаны с исключительным трепетом! Очень глубокая проработка деталей, одних только анимаций столько, что даже после прохождения, будете находить новые. Я ставлю 10/10, но это моё личное мнение. Просто эту игру сложно судить, объективно. У каждого игрока будет свой уникальный опыт прохождения, кто-то сумеет погрузиться и сопереживать персонажам, стараться всё делать очень аккуратно, а кто-то постарается, как можно скорее проскочить локацию и будет идти на риск, ввязываясь в различные ситуации. И тот и другой вариант в игре приветствуется! И разнообразие гаджетов позволяет проходить игру так, как хочется вам! Даже, если вы посмотрели на Ютубе и вам не понравилось, это не страшно, т.к. смотреть это действительно утомительно, но если у вас есть возможность попробовать поиграть самому, то вам обязательно нужно это сделать! Ощущения от управления персонажем на каком-то нереальном уровне! Ты чувствуешь каждый лишний киллограмм, ощущаешь все неровности рельефа, ну и плюс мультиплеерная составляющая. Это действительно работает. На определенном этапе прохождения ты начинаешь понимать, что вместо продвижения по сюжету, ты занимаешься застройкой, и делаешь ты это лишь для того, чтобы облегчить жизнь другим игрокам. И это всё абсолютно безвозмездно. Действительно чувствуешь себя первопроходцем! Но, что ещё круче, так это ощущение невероятного облегчения, когда ты , проделав огромный путь с тяжёлым грузом, где-то в горах, среди снега находишь постройку другого игрока, которая просто спасает тебе жизнь! И ты искренне засыпаешь его лайками! Не потому что тебе принесет это выгоду (лайки в игре это просто выражение благодарности), а потому, что ты действительно искренне благодарен! Такое в играх не часто встретишь! Ощущения невероятные! Смешиваются, с одной стороны, чувство одиночества, а с другой ощущение единства с другими игроками. Это не передать словами, это нужно пережить самому! И спасибо Хидео Кодзиме, что не боится создавать такие игры, не смотря на то, что его могут не понять, и затраты могут не окупиться. The environment is stunning, and furthermore it can be climb up to the mountain, not just a copy and paste picture. Yes, the first 3 chapter was boring, but after completed Fragile story, things getting interested. The story started getting attractive, and the ending was mind blowing. The moment when Clifford finally talk to Sam, which is his son are so touching. BGM and OST was well placed. Truly a GOTY material.

    I started game and took me couple hours to get use if the controls and the rest.Its weird but very addictive after a while.iam on 60h + now and can't stop playing it.Sounds and graphics are top.But The deepnes of it it's not for everyone.

Overall Death Stranding is a very slow paced and requires a lot of patience and time but in the end is very rewarding. I am only on chapter 3 and I’m at 31 hours, and I am absolutely loving this game, even though I am not on a story part and just delivering tons of cargo, I don’t mind. This game allows me to completely zone out from the real world, and into something more relaxing and stress free. I definitely would say this game was worth my money and if you really wish to buy this game, note that you will need patience and time, if you get bored easily then this game is not for you.… Expand

    Creo que la gente que no lo valora es porque lo ve como un accion y aventura pero no lo es y tampoco lo pretende ser, si hay accion pero no esta para dificultarte el camino sino para hacerte perder tiempo y plantearte si merece la pena pasar o rodear el campamento.
    La historia no es la mejor pero se adapta perfectamente al juego y si te paras a pensar y    Este juego me a atrapado.
    Creo que la gente que no lo valora es porque lo ve como un accion y aventura pero no lo es y tampoco lo pretende ser, si hay accion pero no esta para dificultarte el camino sino para hacerte perder tiempo y plantearte si merece la pena pasar o rodear el campamento.
    La historia no es la mejor pero se adapta perfectamente al juego y si te paras a pensar y reflexionar es memorable.

Ps... those that say this game sucks and that its repetitive have not played the game long enough, I delivered 1000+ pieces of cargo during my 114+ HRS of gameplay and not once did I feel like I was doing the same thing over and over.     Anyone complaining about walking everywhere just showed that they didn't play it for very long. You get the first vehicle pretty early on. And later you can steal vehicles from the bad guys. So much fun! In addition to delivering packages, you get to fight bad guys of various form. You can build roads, and then things that are better than roads! And this is in collaboration with the others on your server, so, for example, the zipline network is made up of multiple players' towers. There is combat, and it is nicely done, with an interesting progression of weapons. Even after vehicles are acquired, there are missions that require climbing up a damned mountain: parts of the map that I assumed were off limits (and they would be in any other game) are places I had to go climb. And now we have ziplines over them!

    The cut-scenes are terribly repetitive. Who knew that there would be a game where taking a **** was a mechanic. Who knew that that mechanic would require skipping FOUR cut-scenes. *sigh*. I've pressed option-right-X so many times. And yet I'm still playing it and enjoying it.

    Perhaps, if the game is too frustrating, try it on Easy. I'm assuming that harder modes require more slog before getting things like a vehicle, or enough resources to build roads and bridges. The game is worth playing through, even if that means making it easier.    … Expand

    The most fascinating experience of 5 last years. Atmosphere in this game gives me vibes of PS1 generation, I really felt like I was kid again. Mechanics are fresh and meditative. Characters and story are unforgettable.

    It's a depressing game about depression. It's an uplifting story about reconnecting with your past, everyone around you and learning to feel again. It's a game that came out at a point in my life where this kind of game was exactly what I needed.

    It might not be for you, if walking over rocky mountains and making sure your cargo stays in one piece sounds boring it probably is for you.    It's a depressing game about depression.     It might not be for you, if walking over rocky mountains and making sure your cargo stays in one piece sounds boring it probably is for you. For me it was all about the journey. It kept me more hooked than any shooter ever has. For the 40+ hours I spent exploring and traveling over the world that Kojima has crafted I felt completely immersed.

    I won't spoil anything, since I think the story is best experienced blind, but if you love Kojima's story telling you'll love this. If you don't know what to expect from him, I'll tell you this, the story and characters are going to make you feel every emotion across the spectrum.

    At the end of Death Stranding, I felt as if I could do anything. Doom is coming, but it's the steps we take towards our end that count, not the ending itself.

Прохождение заняло у меня около 44 часов, за которые я выполнил только ОДНУ побочную миссию (и то, случайно, пока ещё не понял, что они не влияют на сюжет), и с появления мотоцикла практически не ходил пешком. Это нереально бодро играющийся симулятор курьера с кучей увлекательных механик (погрузчик-скейтборд, канаты, сама ходьба). Сюжет просто взорвал мне мозг, и я несколько дней не мог отойти, плохо спал, хотя подавался иногда просто отвратительно: я сейчас про 10-минутные катсцены с Хартмэном, который мне не импонировал ни секунды и про предпоследнюю главу, в которой нужно сидеть 20 минут на пляже, изредка бесцельно пробегаясь между нереально унылыми монологами сумасшедшей и невероятно скучной женщины в красном платье – я сейчас не шучу, она 20 минут без остановки говорит, и у вас нет возможности её не слушать, это самый настоящий симулятор женатого мужика. Что касается актёров: если Нормана Ридуса и Мадса я люблю и уважаю с Пушера и Ходячих, то Сейду и Маргарет мне прям люто не нравились до этой игры. В Нитях (Выходе) Смерти у обеих это лучшие роли за карьеру. Монстры просто великолепны. Боёвка и боссы офигительны. Злодеи (с голосом Джоэла) гениальны. Биби умилителен. As a gamer I always searched for something new.. A unique gem that gave me the emotional attachment I felt when I was a mini-me..sitting in my room playing all this interesting adventures as a child. After a while every game was the same. Every concept was already used and reused and rereused. Every single game blended together.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This was one of two games I finished this year and I enjoyed it till the end. The game mechanic for delivering stuff is handled very well. It is not boring because it's different every time. In the beginning, there is a significant reward for almost any delivery that makes the next delivery easier and fun. The story has pace and the ending is extremely satisfying. I didn't even realize I spent 50 hours in this world. I enjoyed Episode 3 the most. It takes ~1/3 of the game, everything is still new, you are getting better and better in tech and the story is delivered in the exact right batches.

    SPOILER: There are two downsides I would say. The first thing is the game punishes killing somebody pretty hard so the player is forced into stealth approach. On the other hand, the end of the game is completely different. The game prepares you for stealth whole time and then you have to shoot your way out at the end. There is no alternative way.

    SPOILER: The second thing is there is one scene at the end where you have to wait for credits to finish. I was finishing this 4 am morning, I saw myself in the bed and it was pretty stressing waiting til credits finish and the story continues.    … Expand

    The story had me craving to play more and more. The scenery in the game was top notch making your feel like you were actually in the world. 10/10. Kojima made a masterpiece with this game. Yes the combat was a bit klunky but the store made up for it

This is a game firstly about solving a deep puzzle. It involves self reflection a better understanding what life and death is and finding purpose in our real life full of struggles and frustrating obstacles. It's my current opinion that this game is one giant love letter for people who are considering suicide. To help disconnected, lonely, frustrated and angry people find understanding and purpose in the toil of our everyday mundane life, to begin building the foundation of courage to make a go of life even if ultimately you will die and every thing you have done may be meaningless and full of suffering.

    In my opinion, this game is an iceberg. Small on the surface but its enormous underneath whats plainly visible. If you buy this game, know it will frustrate you. If you rush this game you are gonna have a bad time, its built so that people who rush will experience the most frustration. If you think this game is for you, be in the moment and take seriously the obstacles this game puts in front of you. Connecting with "Sam" the main character and empathizing with his journey is the only way to really get what Death Stranding is about.

    This game has significant meaning to me, and will be an experience I will always look back on as a important journey.    … Expand

This game is a pure work of art, everything looks amazing and is so polished , amazing graphics, beautiful music, beautiful moments of serenity and huge chaotic boss fights. Just as I thought it was getting tedious , something new would spur me on , new equipment to make things easier, a story twist a new vehicle. Also I love that other players structures and equipment appear in your game a real sense of working together...and really help you out in tricky situations. As Norman Reedus said, the player does not 'play' , but rather 'become' him through journeying through this post apocalyptic world, meeting and connecting with characters of interesting background and touching stories. The gameplay seems repetitive and slow at the start. but once reaching early-midgame the system really shines and all the fun stuff begins flushing in. I suggest everyone interested in the game not be scared by the negative ratings and comments it gets, but rather play the game and see for yourself. I was definitely not disappointed.… Expand

    I felt it was a lot like PS3 Gundam crossfire when it first came out, it had the lowerest rating because it didn't satisfy the younger audience who mostly only played Gundam in the Dynasty Warriors style and couldn't understand the original Gundam 0079's background. However, to a hardcore fan like myself we saw that game as one of the greatest Gundam game ever made, even GBO followed its trail, that says something about how the developer team valued the ideology of Gundam Crossfire and why so many players spending money on GBO.

    Don't listen to what the haters say or crazy low scores. This is definitely the best game of 2019 and one of the best games of 8th generation. Buy it and enjoy its fantastic new gameplay, great graphics and music score and also great story of world of death stranding and sam porter.

    a masterpiece in so many aspects . the gameplay is relaxing , the graphics and atmosphere are very beautiful and amazing, great story too the soundtrack is amazing , unforgettable experience overall

    Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
