    A very well scripted slow paced game, the story it self is super awesome & mind blowing. Gameplay is a little bit tricky. It like what Kojima said, this game is not for everyone. But once you passed chapter 3 many of the core game elements open up & the game pace improves. You've to be super patient for this game, this is not your average shooting or action game.     Though the opening hours are admittedly slow, this develops into an utterly captivating and wonderful gaming experience. It is visually beautiful, totally immersive, very imaginative and the music and audio in general are some of the best I've ever experienced in a game. Though Death Stranding is unique, it reminds me of my favourite games of an earlier era, in that it is a 'slow burn'Though the opening hours are admittedly slow, this develops into an utterly captivating and wonderful gaming experience. It is visually beautiful, totally immersive, very imaginative and the music and audio in general are some of the best I've ever experienced in a game. Though Death Stranding is unique, it reminds me of my favourite games of an earlier era, in that it is a 'slow burn' and not everything is explained. It throws you in the deep end and doesn't contain many of the trappings of modern gaming. At the same time, the generally non-violent approach and message of the title is really refreshing and something I've wanted from AAA games for a long time (I'm aware indie games have offered alternative gaming approaches for a while, but nothing with this budget and cinematic flair.)
    It's a real shame this is being review-bombed here. The gaming looks dull on paper, but in practice is really addictive, strangely satisfying and only gets better as time goes on. The plot, world, gaming mechanisms and online aspect all fit coherently together in a cohesive and thoughtful way and point towards a unified message in a way I've not experienced in a game before. Sure, it is 'weird', but only because everything else has become pretty similar. Anyone familiar with 'harder' sci-fi ideas won't particularly struggle here. I wish games of this level of polish and originality were made more often. I've thoroughly enjoyed it, and not because I'm a Hideo Kojima 'fan' (I don't really understand being a 'fan' of any creator.)     Un juego que llevaba esperando mucho tiempo, con cierta incertidumbre por lo visto en los gameplay revelados previos al lanzamiento, pero una vez que tuve el juego en mis manos no deje de asombrarse por los gráficos, lo complejo que puede llegar a hacer un recorrido de un punto A al B, plantearse la ruta, ver las elevaciones del terreno, analizar tu inventario para no quedar corto o faltaUn juego que llevaba esperando mucho tiempo, con cierta incertidumbre por lo visto en los gameplay revelados previos al lanzamiento, pero una vez que tuve el juego en mis manos no deje de asombrarse por los gráficos, lo complejo que puede llegar a hacer un recorrido de un punto A al B, plantearse la ruta, ver las elevaciones del terreno, analizar tu inventario para no quedar corto o falta de alguna herramienta para poder seguir tu camino, evitar los CV, entender porque matar al enemigo no es una opción viable, cuidar y estrechar lazos con BB, los personajes son únicos especialmente Mama, en fin, es un juego único y muy diferente a lo existente.     1. Игра долго раскачивается, погружает вас в мир игры, показывает механики, думаю многих это может достать. 2. Такое ощущение что игру делали по ходу набора людей в новую студию, все о той же медленной раскачке. 3.     1. Игра долго раскачивается, погружает вас в мир игры, показывает механики, думаю многих это может достать.

    3. Реально был период когда не понимаешь зачем ты в это играешь, следующая доставка и потом ещё одна и ещё одна, кат сцена, опять доставка. Достает это....
    4. Потом пройдя где то 60% худо бедно на изучении игры и паре хороших кат сцен разрабов видать торкнуло, ну или штат нормально пополнился и пошло самое что ни на есть мяско, прям как положено, с привязанностью к персонажам, раскрытием сюжета, драматическими моментами и так далее.
    5. Именно за эти 40% ставлю 10-ку, правда там ещё крутая механика игры, физика ну и вот это все НО за атмосферу и итоговое раскрытие сюжета эта игра стоит покупки.
    6. Тем кому не понравилось как по мне просто не въехали или не хотели въезжать ожидаю очередную военную драму от Кодзимы...    … Expand

    Video games do not have to be fun to be great, and while, yes, this game is more often than not tedious, overblown, and self-indulgent, it's art in m eyes, and my emotional connection and visceral reactions to this game are why I consider it a flawed masterpiece that confounds me as to why/how it even exists, but I am nonetheless happy that it does exist.

    People love to jump into the hate bandwagon without playing the whole game :) This is a masterpiece that deserve game of the year award. This game is made to be tedious in mind with reason with it :) I will not spoil much, but introverts out there, come and play this game! Is just like harvest moon, rune factory, stardew valley, story of season :)

    The game is good. Don't trust those "walking simulator" reviews, as I believe most of them haven't played the game for more then a couple of hours. The game takes a bit of time to develop, and after the first few introduction missions you're able to enjoy the game a lot more.

    This game is not for everyone that is for sure. I felt the beginning of the game was too slow but it gave me a sense of time and how much I needed to fully grasp everything that was being displayed. The open world of the game was carefully created with so many fine details. There were no barriers that made me think, why is there an invisible wall here.     I bought this on day of released, I just finished still on the credits. I did not want this to end. I really enjoyed this game. Visually stunning with a story that had me on the edge, thinking, and sad, too close to crying. When I thought it was finished it was still going, awesome. Game had different elements like no other.     DS is such a great game. I see the trolls are hard at work though spamming the ratings with 0’s. You guys say the game is boring but will play fortnite and FPSs that are all almost identical to one another and think each one is “so great.” Y’all are the ones who are boring

    This is the first time i have ever felt the need to review anything. To start off, Death Stranding is a masterpiece in story telling and gameplay! People who leave it negative reviews have either not played it or only played it for a short time. I finished the story in 45 hours doing an average amount of side missions and exploring, and to me the pacing was perfect.    SPOILER FREE REVIEW

    This is the first time i have ever felt the need to review anything. To start off, Death Stranding is a masterpiece in story telling and gameplay! People who leave it negative reviews have either not played it or only played it for a short time. I finished the story in 45 hours doing an average amount of side missions and exploring, and to me the pacing was perfect.

    The first 3 episodes will take you 15-20 hours depending on your gaming style. This part is mostly gameplay, delivering packages and understanding the game itself, i really enjoyed this part, when you’re delivering a package in the middle of no where a piece of music will randomly come in to play, and you will pan around looking at the beautiful scenery, this is when i truly got what Kojima was trying to accomplish, the first 20 hours arent for everyone, i personally hate fetch quest games, but this is something else, i fell in love with it instantly and just got it and what it was trying to give the player. The feeling of being alone, but then using other players equipment or structures really makes you grateful for what they have left behind for you to use, because of this you also do the same and get a real satisfaction when the likes pop up to tell you someone has used your ladders etc, you feel like you have helped someone along their journey, this is done brilliantly throughout the game!

    Episode 4 hits you with the first real kojima style cutscenes and story telling, feeding you more and more story and more action, the pacing really ramps up here and you start using weapons etc.

    Through episode 4-7 the gameplay gradually builds with the story, deliveries get harder, enemies get tougher, and the story comes thick and fast. Episode 7-9 again steps up the gameplay and the story now starts giving you the ‘wow’ moments kojima is known for. After episode 9 the game goes full throttle and throws non stop story at you, with amazing boss fights and even more ‘holy **** moments. It was from this point i couldn’t stop playing as the game unveils more and more of the story slowly answering your questions, the gameplay and story at this point are some of the best i’ve ever played, i was completely invested in the story, but at the same time i really didn’t want it to end! 9-15 is complete madness, loads of twists and turns along the way, and the best finale to a story i have ever seen! It left me sat staring at the credits like ‘wtf has just happened’, i was emotionally exhausted from the incredible writing of kojima!

    This has been the best 45 hours of my gaming life, and i am so glad i invested the time into the game because the reward was seeing some of kojimas best work in story telling.

    The game is a thought provoking, incredible piece of art, and if you were hyped before seeing the bad reviews and changed your mind, go and buy it! You will be so glad you did when you reach the end and feel all the emotions i did, all the wow’s, holy **** tear jerking moments are what make this game truly exceptional! This game is easily the best example of story told and mirrored by the actual gameplay experience. There are plenty of critics of the difficulty or clunkiness- but I found that when a new tool or mechanic was introduced, using them from that point onward instead of writing them off greatly improved my experience (Zip-lines are the first to come to mind, I've seen players not use them at all and the lack of them could easily make some of the latter half of the game far more difficult than it needs to be). The story is surprisingly final and tight for a Kojima affair- I completed it with every question essentially answered. The entire experience left me captivated, and even after completing the main campaign I still found myself deeply committed to the post-game. If you feel like you have the tenacity to let the story and gameplay do their job at their own pace, you'll complete this game feeling satisfied and moved.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. На самом деле эта не для всех, есть те кому нравится медитативный геймплей который иногда разбавляется экшеном, то эта игра для вас. Остальным советую не играть в данную игру, идите лучше в очередную колду поиграйте.
    Вообще Кодзиму стоит похвалить за то что он не зассал и выпустил игру с подобным геймплеем в конце 2019.
    Если говорить о самой игре, то в ней на самом деле много всего, но это много всего открывается развивая сюжетную линию. Сам сюжет в принципе не представляет из себя что-то необычное и новое. Заставки и ролики выглядят просто божественно, постановка на уровне голливуда (честно), (я особо не смотрю кинематограф). Так-же в игре существует онлайн составляющая, которая выполнения лучше, чем я себе представлял. Онлайн в death stranding важная составляющая, где ты можешь помогать другим игрокам, так и другие игроки могут тебе помогать.
    В целом ставлю игре 10 баллов, ибо мне очень понравилась игра, в ней хорошего намного больше чем плохого.    … Expand

This game is for those people who play games to experience something totally new and that feels real. This game sucks you in quick with the story which I was a big fan of. Moving your weight around and making sure to check what slopes are the best for traversal made me feel like I was hiking on vacation. I lost countless hours just wondering around building the interstate that leads from east coast to west coast. I loved everything about to ambiance of the game and how isolated you would feel. Some people would argue that there is nothing to interact with, where are all the people?! Well since its a scary time to go outside in America, it makes sense and the isolation feels very real. Sam as a character is great and at first he barely speaks his peace and mind. Then throughout the game he slowly starts to open up and connect with more and more people. In the end, this game captivated me from the very first cutscene to the end credits. I loved it and personally think people hate on this game just to hate. Now I like Kojima but before I played Death Stranding, I didn't think he was the creative genius everyone puts him out to be. But now after playing this masterpiece in storytelling and innovative gameplay, I am here to say I am going to buy whatever he makes next, no questions asked after what I experienced playing this game.… Expand

    Do not pay attention to the bad reviews. most people have not even finished the game (probably none of them even have played it)

    the game is frustrating sometimes just like how life is, and I was glad I finished and stuck around till the end.

    If you didn't like this game that's fine but for me the story alone makes it a GOTY contender. It's original, engaging, wonderfully weird and totally Hideo Kojima. Can't wait to see what this studio makes next.

    Death Stranding is an amazing story about connecting people. It’s one of the best games I have played and definitely my game of the year. The music is phenomenal and the game is so beautiful. The story keeps you wanting to know more and when I finished the game, all I wanted to do was start over. If you love story driven games, you should definitely check this one out!

A feeling of joy, relief, happiness and embrace. You feel like you're not alone anymore when you see all the signs that other people were in the same world with you. Bridges in the distant that now help you cross a once dangerous lake, signs left behind by other players leading you to hidden secrets and discoveries. You can even see the paths that others took and follow in their footsteps, or someone can follow in yours.
    There is a sence of satisfaction and pride, even heartfelt joy when you end up helping someone on their journey in this game. You had to feel all that loneliness and downs to appreciate the love, the feeling of care, the ups. The story was just wonderful and moved me the way I was moved by games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Horizon Zero Dawn. The world is just so unique and mysterious.     Great game! It is a genre-bending and strangely addictive game that I couldn't put down while not knowing particularly why... other than its uniquely beautiful experience. It's art in a way that only a video game can be but rarely ever is.

    I love this game. Great story, weirdly addictive game play and beautiful to look at. Plays well with no bugs I've seen. If you love fast passed action this is not the game for you. If you like games where you can take your time. Stop to soak in the atmosphere, consider the story and theorize, then this may be the game for you.

    Simply incredible. Amazing story telling and deep lore, State of the art graphics, I've never seen a better looking game in my life, addicting and extremely rewarding gameplay, its not just about delivering packages, it also has stealth and combat mechanics, and has a horror touch to it too.
    It really is one of a kind experience that will last with you for a long time.

    Very addictive with a great story one of the best games released recently I'm 80+ hours in and only just finished episode 9. I keep getting sidetracked either by scenery or deliveries and I've also been walking everywhere by choice only using viechles when speed is required

    I got more than 20 hours now and Im in chapter 3. The delivery topic which other reviewers seen in a bad way is of course a main characteristic on the game, but: the faster you move forward with the story, the easier this will be. So don’t waste all time in the 1st area and leave with the ship as you get the offer.

    What I really like a lot, is the way the multiplayer working this game. Instead of putting all gamers in a overfilled world, you can participate in the buildings they made and build streets and bridges together with materials everyone spend. It’s such a great pleasure to run through an rough terrain and find ladders, ropes and bridges other players left for you.

    This is one of the best games of the last years! I enjoyed once the story of the original mafia and gtaV is still one of my favorites. But death stranding got now my number 1!    … Expand

I bought the standard version and I just ordered the PS4 4 Death Stranding limited edition because I want to see it in 4k. I am only in Chapter 9, but I am already hooked.     Porting brings a peace that is not found in most games. The story is interesting, though there were times when it was over simplified and others when things were poorly explained. Overall it was an enjoyable and refreshing gaming experience! Zip lining is the most fun I've had in a game in a while!

    Every time you got a new package to deliver and then you see the distance, weather and that you cannot go there with a vehicle you start planning your routes and trying to take the most quantity of weapons and climbing tools but also to go as lighter as possible (so you are less likely to fall and damage your packages or exhaust Sam completely before reaching your destination AND RETURN), this is a game for someone who likes to take it slow and plan stuff carefully.
    The satisfaction of delivering a package that took you a hard, long and risky walk is really good.
    It took me a while figuring out the menu, due to all the info in it, but once I did ist pretty easy to understand.

    La satisfaccion de entregar un paquete que requirio de una dificil, larga y riesgosa caminata es genial.

    Best experience i ever had with a game. It's unique with it's own way and is fun to play. When you deliver a package to it's destination you get the feeling of completion, just like in a souls game after you beat a hard boss....I heavily recommend to all the gamers out there to give it a try and have there minds blown.

    I was suffering from a mild anxiety since May this year, and playing through Death Stranding, rebuilding UCA, connecting to the    Death Stranding delivered everything I wanted and expected in a Kojima-san game. Heck, thinking more through it, it totally surpassed my expectations: visuals, gameplay, performance, fun-factor, score, soundtrack - everything, in fact - is brilliantly executed.
    I was suffering from a mild anxiety since May this year, and playing through Death Stranding, rebuilding UCA, connecting to the main characters and other Porters made me feel complete and helped cure my issue. I can safe say Death Stranding is exactly what I need and it came at the right time.
    I quite don't understand or agree on the users low score or the reason they find it boring (every game is going to point A to B), but I respect their opinions. I just say with you are in doubt, maybe this game is not for you (or any other game you are in doubt of, as a matter of fact). However, Death Stranding will stay in my mind for years to come, with so many memories to cherish with BB and other, coupled with the music from Low Roar.... What a game!    … Expand

    Absolutely love this game, its different from your usual games but it's a good different the scenes are great and there is just something about everthing that happens, I've played it for a while and still not halfway though as I keep building roads for some reason lol.

It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
