The game is not for everyone, such as racing games, action games, simulator games, horror games, anime games and more. The gameplay is good, recreates well the simulation and the balance of the human being and the earth and makes us look at each order, tools to aid the journey very carefully. Now for those who like and value survival, Open World and a new experience? It's worth a lot but very worth it Finally, if the game has action? It has a lot. By the way try wondering if ... if you were in Sam's skin, and if you were the best to make deliveries and aim to connect the world without getting hurt, projecting the goods without being captured by bad people or dead EP's, you would perform in the field. like? Running like crazy? Trying to kill / hit the bad guys who are many and live in highly protected camps? And as for the Ep's in a real situation, what would they do ... hidden and scared certainly. In death stranding there are no "heroes" here we have to behave just as if we were there because it determines our success or death. As the game progresses you will acquire different equipment to better handle yourself it is very realistic that way 10/10 a cinematic experience with a Kojima like story with lots of familiar faces along the way truly different and honestly unique gameplay with online interactions that are free (No Ps4 plus needed) your building a country with other players for free.… Expand

    This game is phenomenal. Forget the poor reviews of those that simply don't get it. You as a person need to have a certain level of maturity to be able to appreciate it. It is not for kids, which is a big reason behind the negative reviews. That and people completely missing the point.     After more than 50hours in I must said that DS is One of the best game in this generation. Very complex, fun,, unique and addictive gameplay loop (it's definitely not just "Walking simulator") - Constantly evolved with many gadgets - exoskelet, bikes, trucks, highways, zip lines and more type of environment. Deep Story with unique characters and deep message. Very unique social strandAfter more than 50hours in I must said that DS is One of the best game in this generation.     Hey guys, Video Hajimbo here to talk about the best game ever made! I had such a good time on this game made by certified video game Auteur™ Hideo Kojima (which I am not). I particularly liked how he (not me) created a whole new genre of game with systems never before seen. For example, an asynchronous multiplayer, which has never been done by any game before ever, and I (and I'm sureHey guys, Video Hajimbo here to talk about the best game ever made! I had such a good time on this game made by certified video game Auteur™ Hideo Kojima (which I am not). I particularly liked how he (not me) created a whole new genre of game with systems never before seen. For example, an asynchronous multiplayer, which has never been done by any game before ever, and I (and I'm sure Kojima too, but there's no way of telling, for I - Video Hajimbo- have never met him, or have ever spoken to him) have personally checked every game to make sure that it's definitely new and original, and what can I say! It's as fresh as an onion!

    As for the actual gameplay, I hear some people just aren't finding it entertaining, and to be honest, I have to disagree. I find it rather disconcerting that they're saying it doesn't have enough action really. Something that every review has said as the sole reason for why they've given it less than a 9/10. I myself (and not Kojima, who I might add is an arthouse developer) find it extremely engaging. I come home from a hard days work paint moisture surveying for Dulux, and turn this on, and I'm instantly absorbed and find it far more engaging, although, I must say, elements of it remind me of my job, and in such moments, I would like to personally thank Kojima- and not myself- for creating such a real and tangible world that so many people (like myself, a person not even related to the unmatched genius that is director of Death Stranding- Hideo Kojima) can relate to.

    Another one of my favourite things about this game (and any Kojima game, that is to say, games made by a person who isn't me) is how subtle the storytelling is. There's such nuance to everything Kojima does. I for example had no idea that the game (despite being in the future and not having been written by me) was in fact based on modern day America, and how it's split apart. This is because the game is so nuanced and not obvious, and yet so deep.

    Finally, (another note on storytelling) I do of course have to mention the cutscenes. I see a lot of reviews complaining about the quantity and length of the cutscenes. Many have even pointed out that the basis of good storytelling in games comes from showing, not telling. I would completely disagree. In fact, I would go as far as to say that I find these comments hurtful on a deeply personal level, not that it offends me of course, as I am not the creator, that is another man who isn't me. I would say that Death Stranding employs an objectively perfect form of storytelling that makes sure every viewer is able to keep up with the incredibly powerful mind of Hideo Kojima, who I might add has an incredibly high IQ, and once received a gold star for a painting he did in Kindergarten.

    To sum it up, I would say Death Stranding is the best game ever made. It's objectively perfect in every way. It has perfect graphics, perfect sound design, perfect music (even though that wasn't all created by Hideo Kojima by himself), perfect gameplay that isn't boring, perfection of genre, as this is a new genre, and not a walking simulator, and a perfect story, with a perfect balance of cutscenes to gameplay (which is actual gameplay, and not just balancing while walking). The only improvement I'd make is to include more cutscenes. Something I would request from Hideo Kojima, if I, Midamo Kalimba was able to speak to this incredible, and not rude man.    … Expand

    Very unique game, definitely not for everyone but I personally really enjoyed my time playing death stranding.     Después de haber jugado 65 horas y haberme terminado la historia del juego, puedo decir lo que pienso del juego. No como muchísimas personas que lo están criticando sin haberlo ni olido o justamente lo contrario. De hecho voy a seguir jugándolo.

La OST es una maravilla, música y canciones muy bonitas, hacen que en el juego te sientas esperanzado en momentos difíciles.
    La historia y los personajes me han encantado, aunque hay partes de la historia (soy muy cinefila/seriefila) que para mí fueron previsibles.
    A la hora de jugar me ha gustado mucho el tener que repartir “los paquetes” ,es todo un reto y si de verdad te metes en la historia y en tú personaje lo vas a disfrutar.
    También me ha gustado mucho el sistema en línea con los Likes y la ayuda que te pueden aportar otros jugadores durante el juego.
    Puedo entender que haya muchas personas a las que no le guste éste tipo de juego, pero por favor, respetad lo que piensen otros jugadores.

    Und da kommt der nächste Zeitfresser Strassen bauen und ein vernünftiges Seilbahnnetz zu planen und umzusetzen. Die Hauptstory verfolge ich nur nebenbei...die ganzen Prepper und ihre Geschichten sind echt klasse.
    Das BB wächst einem schnell ans Herz.
    Viele kleine Gimiks, lustiges, erstaunliches oder gar tief ergreifendes an jeder Ecke.
    Ein Zeitfresser ist das Spiel allemal...man versinkt quasi in der Welt und muss aufpassen das man noch genügend Schlaf für den nächsten Arbeitstag bekommt.

    Grob gesagt das Spiel ist eintönig...aber nur oberflächlich betrachtet. Jede Lieferung gibt einen Sinn. Jeder Charakter hat seine Geschichte. Jeder Gegner kann eine Herausforderung sein.
    Man lernt schnell besondere Gebiete auszuweichen um die Fracht möglichst schnell und unbeschadet zum Ziel zu bringen. Ein kleiner Umweg kann ein effektiver Weg sein.
    Ich war skeptisch und am Anfang des Spiels auch etwas enttäuscht. Aber das legte sich mit jedem erfolgreichen Abschluss eines Auftrags.

    Entweder man mag es oder nicht.
    Ich finde es schade wenn man nur stupide der Story folgt und vieles Wissen über die Welt verpasst.
    Danke Kojima für dieses tolle Meisterwerk und einmal Abwechslung von den heutigen Trends.

    Not everyone's cup of tea but it certainly is mine! I love the asynchronous multiplayer and the characters are all so beautifully tragic. An innovative game and one of my favorites of all time. This is most certainly a piece of art and i appreciate it for everything it has to say.

    The usual Japanese style that over-glorified a single job/hobby, this time is “delivering cargos”.

    A nice game to enjoy when u r a person that prefer creating safe haven for others. To me nothing is more delighting than helping and contributing to others indirectly.

    I’m gonna be honest I was really looking forward to this game pre E3 showings etc... I loved Hideo Kojima’s metal gear solid games and I knew the guy is a genius and all his games with Konami have been nothing short of spectacular!

    Hence I was expecting the same from his new studio. However I was really disappointed with the press release up front and average reviews! I almost said that I    I’m gonna be honest I was really looking forward to this game pre E3 showings etc... I loved Hideo Kojima’s metal gear solid games and I knew the guy is a genius and all his games with Konami have been nothing short of spectacular!

    Hence I was expecting the same from his new studio. However I was really disappointed with the press release up front and average reviews! I almost said that I won’t buy it because I’ve got so many other brilliant games in my backlog. But then I thought to myself hang on a minute I did this all once before when Days Gone released and ended up not buying only to purchase it a few months later and to be blown away by such a great game!! Plus it’s a Kojima game how could I pass it up?

    So glad I listened to my inner voice and purchased Death Stranding day 1! The game is a masterpiece and Kojima is still just as talented as he was with Konami. I don’t want to go into spoilers and details but I’m now 27hours through and on chapter 3 still and the game shows no signs of giving up, finishing or slowing down, actually I think I’m about half way through and I’ve loved every moment of it. There are very few games which make me shout OMG and make it difficult for my eyes to believe what they are seeing and experiencing that is exactly what this game has done multiple times, be it the opening act where your first walking down that mountain with that amazing view and the game starts playing “Don’t be so serious” or the first time where you lay your eyes upon Port Knot City from a distance and another song plays! It’s unbelievable I’m telling you and I wish I could experience those things again for the first time.

    At first it can all look a bit complicated with so many menus and data at your disposal but a few hours in and it’s all very easy to control.

    Any improvements? Yes of course, I wish there was more FMV videos like what Konami is known for in MGS. Sure there is a hologram image of the owner of every new base/safe house you reach in the game but it’s not that exciting. What would have been amazing is if the people were actually there at each of the bases and you met them in a proper fmv scene. That would have made meeting all the people at all the bases even more exciting and something to look forward to. Maybe there was budget constraints so they chose this route, anyway here’s to a sequel that comes soon, really hope they add this in it.

    Death Stranding is not your standard game, to be honest you wouldn’t even be able to explain it to anyone for them to get excited over it, it’s an experience, an experience which once you embark on becomes highly addictive and one that you just can’t put down. It’s a very stress free, relaxing and fun to play especially when you come home from work and have maybe an hour to play and chill. The game is a masterpiece and I can’t wait to see where the epic adventure goes next! Buy it and play it without any doubts and you won’t regret it.

    It was a completely new experience from the “video game”. Everything, from objects and mechanics, to actors, is harmoniously intertwined and connected.

    In a time where publishers don't allow developers to take risks, do something daring, different and potentially ruining for a development studio.. Sony has allowed Kojima Productions to go wild with this game and completely break from the norm. Death Stranding is definitely a Marmite game. You will love it, or you will hate it. Most importantly I recommend playing this game during your genuine "down time" where you can really absorb the world and appreciate the game, as it is truly a breath of fresh air in today's gaming landscape.… Expand

    Death Stranding is a fantastic game. The acting, music, and visual design are all top notch. The writing goes from excellent to pretty cheesy, but some of it is clearly just Kojima being stupid on purpose. The gameplay is definitely not for everyone, but its so much more than an A to B walking sim

Somehow, they made delivering packages gratifying and addictive. I felt like I was an astronaut exploring a beautiful planet while doing these deliveries. This made much of my time spent with the game relaxing, almost therapeutic.Usually I get burnt out on gameplay for games of this length, but the upgrading system kept awarding me gadgets that kept gameplay fresh, up until the very end. Somehow, they made delivering packages gratifying and addictive. I felt like I was an astronaut exploring a beautiful planet while doing these deliveries. This made much of my time spent with the game relaxing, almost therapeutic. The story is very deep and involved with lots of twists and turns to add some weight and anticipation of the journey.

    I encourage you to take a chance on this game. Rent it for a weekend. If you're not hooked within the first few hours, then it might not be your game.    … Expand

    Death stranding is just amazing to me .
    Yeah I really was afraid about getting bored with it or hating it but something about it really made me wanna try it .
    So i bought it , didn't regret it for a second , a game about connection, you are practically alone but I really found myself thinking there are other players here with me. How many times I was saved by someone else and hoping    Death stranding is just amazing to me .

    The world is empty but also so full , immersive, gorgeous and encourage you to go find cool stuff to make it better.
    The game opens up to you from second to second , you feel a part of this big plan of connecting the cities.
    It's not for everyone, if you can't live without constant action , shooting or interacting every second , it's definitely not for you.
    The atmosphere , the progress, the way which we wall help each other, those are the things that make this game amazing.

The addicting game play loop of gathering materials to construct various objects in the world (Bridges, Roads, Time Fall shelters, Recharge Stations), as well as delivering packages in good condition to get likes, stat boosts, and new items. At first the traversal mechanics can seem cumbersome, but after a while it becomes second nature and I grew to really appreciate how realistic and tactile it was. As you get further into the game and begin upgrading Sams stats and unlocking new ways of traversal it really opens up the possibilities and gives a real sand box-like experience. Vehicles are extremely fun to navigate with. I found it a fun challenge trying to climb steep cliffs with a motorcycle or truck so I could arrive with all my cargo, and the power skeletons are a godsend for maximizing the amount of gear you can travel with on foot. The acting is for the most part excellent all around. Mads Mickelson is a stand out, especially towards the end of the game. There are a few characters that come off odd, but they are relegated to side missions that aren't integral to the games story. The story is so intriguing and deep and it makes you want to get down to the bottom of what is going on in it's bizarre and stunning world. Sometimes the way it is fed to you can be a little on the nose or strange, but it didn't detract from the story it was trying to tell overall. There are so many memorable moments that impacted me on a deep emotional level. Game graphics need no comment, as they are easily the best looking graphics of the generation. Performance was extremely solid on my PS4 slim and I didn't encounter a single glitch or noticeable drop in frame rate. Character, enemy, and environment design is all top notch. Everything has had a painstaking amount of detail poured into it and it truly shows. Bosses are such a spectacle and can be quite challenging if you are unprepared to deal with them. Normal BT's are extremely nerve racking when you encounter them and have led to some truly intense and memorable moments. At the end of the day there is truly no game like Death Stranding. The best way I can describe it is an experience. When I completed it, it felt like I had been on an epic journey that I had put my blood, sweat, and tears into. Riding the highest highs and crushing lows right along with Sam. It's a game that can only be fully appreciated and understood by actually playing through it entirely. I truly believe that once the dust on controversy has settled, people will look back on Death Stranding as one of the best and most important pieces of entertainment media ever created. Up there with the likes of Inception and the Lord of the Rings. I will never forget my time with Death Stranding, and as I completed my journey I was sad that I will never be able to experience it for the first time again. For those who are on the fence about this game, please give it a try and go into it with an open mind. If you can actually make it to the end of the journey, there is no way you could call this anything less than a great game. For me, it is a masterpiece and sits atop the throne of my favorite games of all time.     I just finished it today after over 80 hours. It was awesome. Best game of the year, one of the best games of the decade! Truly a masterpiece. I'm so sad that some people could get into it. Well, it's a sing of our times that people have built walls even in their minds, which prevent them from understanding and appreciating such treasures like this one!

    Absolutely one of the best game this year. Finished it 3 weeks ago and i'm still thinking about it from time to time. The story is fantastic, the caracters is interesting, the music is great..the gameplay is fun. Really hope there will be a death stranding 2.

    You can build useful structures that other players have access to and can "Like" which lets you know you're being useful to someone else playing the game. This is a highly satisfying feature which contributes to the whole experience, and even the story, as it is about connecting people.

    The main thing for me, is how I'm simply addicted to delivering cargo. It sounds simple, but there's something incredibly satisfying about taking on an order of cargo, planning your route, the tools you'll need, and making your delivery without a scratch, knowing that your planning paid off when you get an S rating.

    I can see how this game might not be for everyone but it I personally think it is a highly ambitious attempt at a new single-player game and it'd be a shame not to give it a go if you've got a PS4. Particularly if you're a fan of Kojima's unique, creative weirdness. Go for it.    … Expand

You will beAfter completing the game I can honestly say that this is in my opinion Kojimas best game to date. And yes, sometimes you will also engange in combat both with humans and BTs. Not everyone will find the core gameplay loop of DS fun but I adore it. It's fun, it's addicting. Whenever I stopped playing DS I couldn't stop thinking about it.

    The Story on the other hand will be less divisie, it's Kojima at his best. It has its funny and sad moments. Well written characters. Amazing acting. An interesting setting. And funnily enough it's a lot easier to understand than some of Kojimas previous work.

    Honestly there is so much more to this game that this review doesn't do it justice. The online aspect of it alone is amazing and fun to play with.

    This game won't be for everyone, no doubt about that. But for me personally it's the best game of 2019 and this whole generation.    … Expand

After completing chapter 2, it becomes addictive. How the game is constantly giving you tools to fight against BT's, MULES, and the terrain it's just fun. Even after completing the story i'm unlocking new things. (75 hours by now) the plot twist at the end it's just incredible, I think that this game will be a classic in a few years. The sense of traveling alone but not completely alone is heartwarming and its message it's beautiful. One of the best experiences i've played in all my life.… Expand

Что можно сказать: Лор и сюжет отличный и это мало сказано, геймплей не для всех, небольшие проблемы есть, графика отличная.     Just finished my 50+hr playthrough, and wow! I have never played anything like Death Stranding before. The storyline was incredible and although it was slow at the beginning, after 8 hrs, the gameplay became addicting as well.
    This is easily one of my favorite videogame experiences of all time. Thank you Kojima!

And here I am, this having just unlocked the platinum trophy in Death Stranding, and can't believe I'm saying this but I loved every minute of my 150 hrs spent getting it. Also like, 90% of the plot. Also, haven't seen the final twist coming as my theories differed. You got me there Kojima-san. It is truly revolutionary, watershed moment of game design and most certainly it is not for everyone. Who cares. The game does something amazing - makes finding ways to overcome terrain as your enemy no. 1 just as exhilerating as a meditative experience. It makes it FUN to plan your every step and it makes it fun to play it slow. It makes you care about aiding others following your steps just as you've been given a helping hand from many strangers on your way. It does something completely different, and delivers on it just like out great deliverer protagonist does. I'm perplexed by the amount of criticism it is getting, got to the point where I've seen videos on YT where people are almost apologizing that they actually liked the game! Who gives a **** whether whoever else is having as much fun as anybody else. I've had a blast and nobody is taking this away now. Also, asynchronous multiplayer is AMAZING and all I hope this game wil spark the inspiration among the gamedev world and that we shall see more of it everywhere now. I came here to voice my support for Kojima productions and if you are reading this - congratulations and I really hope it sells well enough for you to continue this inspiring, rocky path.     Yes it’s a delivery simulator. When I try to avoid BT area, I can always find other players’ safe path. When I fight with BT, other players help me by providing weapons. When I find that some route is difficult, there is always someone help me by building bridges and other buildings. When I run out of resources, there is someone donating resource to me.

This is the real content of this game, alone while connected. Those who give 0/10 reviews are those who never connected with others. In this game, if you never help others, others never help you. Or maybe they just never really started the game, just stop in the first few hours (which are three long tutorial levels).    … Expand

    Astonishing game. This may be the greatest game of the decade. It has a colossal open world with amazing diversity in its lands, from mountainous grassy plains, desert and even tundra. It is deeply satisfying to trek the land with your cargo and other equipment and feel truly free. Though, the game is slow in the beginning, it very quickly pulls you into its immersive environment. TheAstonishing game. This may be the greatest game of the decade. It has a colossal open world with amazing diversity in its lands, from mountainous grassy plains, desert and even tundra.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Best game of the year for me. Has great music, the most realistic graphics I've ever seen on a PS4. Great performances, this game does not explain everything to you. The interviews have a lot of great information that explains the world they created in much more detail that I believe not much people read. Less than half of ratings are bashing this game because it's boring, its definitely not for everyone. It's not a looter shooter that everyone is used to. This game is a experience that pays off in the end with the best acting I've seen in a game. The ending made me cry and it will resonate with me for along time and I'm sure a lot of people feel the same.… Expand

    Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
