    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is awesome!!! It conveys a meaning, a message through its dialogs, story and gameplay. It's all about building connections and how difficult it is. The gameplay makes you feel how epic and difficult is the journey. It's not about killing/defeating the bad guys, it's a man vs nature game in a post apocaliptic world. The story is filled with details, you can't miss a dialog and you have to put a lot of attention to the meaning of each word, like for example the characters last names

    I'm currently really enjoying this game.the music is great and I usually dont like video game music..probably because my first language isn't English. But music is great , the graphics are amazing even on my base ps4.     Although the gameplay of death stranding is definitely not enjoyable for everyone, the game provides a well-designed new system and a fantastic story. I would not recommend it to everyone but this game is one of the greatest games in recent years that try to explore the possibility of gaming and innovate things that are never been created before.

    This is truly a new game. These last days have felt truely unique playing this game, and sure it is not for everyone, it’s certencly not for a Kojima fanbase either. If the Kojimas name didn't stand on it, undoubtedly, this game would still be a 10/10. Besidde making me love, cry, laugh and immerse into the story and world, it make the experience fell brand-new. Sure, it is walking, butThis is truly a new game. These last days have felt truely unique playing this game, and sure it is not for everyone, it’s certencly not for a Kojima fanbase either. Whereas “regular” games needs to throw obstacles into you face, this game does the oppersite.

    Standing makes you enjoy the scenery, the loneliness that fills ud by a appreciative and helpfull connection to other players, with generosity helps to explore the world even better. Judgmentally, the game is truly appreciated by knowing the philosophical reasons, and sociological paradigme this game lays its fundation on.

    Wow! What a journey. Wasn't for sure how I was going to like this one but it hit the ball out the park for me. The World is breathtaking with some of the best waterfalls I've ever seen in a game. There's a great sense of accomplishment as you figure the best routes to cross rivers and mountains that block your path and that keeps growing as you build roads and bridges as the game goes on.Wow! What a journey. Wasn't for sure how I was going to like this one but it hit the ball out the park for me. The World is breathtaking with some of the best waterfalls I've ever seen in a game. There's a great sense of accomplishment as you figure the best routes to cross rivers and mountains that block your path and that keeps growing as you build roads and bridges as the game goes on. It's definetly man verses wild type of ride. I took great satisfaction in finally reaching the pinnacle of a mountains peak to look back at the amazing world below knowing I could install a zip line to help me next time I cross. There's something to be said at a game that makes you breathe the world in and even put the controller down many times just to enjoy the view and the great music along the way. I never felt bored and thought the game is paced great with amazing cut scenes, new rides, guns, stuff to build, and other mechanics all throughout the journey to learn and master. It's a slow burn a lot like red dead was but damn what a journey through a beautiful world that I think we all will be talking about for years to come. Thanks to Kojima the crew and anyone who's helped me along my journey in this game for that I'm truly grateful and not alone.… Expand

    Modern games like the overwhelming and oversaturated shooters leave something more to be desired, and that is where Death Stranding comes in. Instead of fighting off other players and trying to prove a digital dominance over the other via mind-numbing twitch reflexes in a game that leaves players like myself in the dust, you can't help but become excited at a game that engages the player to try something new and to utilize something popular games tend to neglect: thought-provoking gameplay. Hideo Kojima is a man that builds things not for just senseless play that would insult people when played, but something that has seasoning and sustenance. His games usually have something important to say, be it the Metal Gear franchise's anti-nuclear stance and shady behavior of politics and such, or anything else the man has directed, you know you are in for a treat. He makes games that you can play multiple times and catch something you missed in dialogue, body language, and events with the first playthrough. There is always something to be further understood.

    If you are looking for artistic genius and something new to bring to the table, then look no further and try your hand at Death Stranding. Go into it with an open mind and intent to try something new. I pray that you will give this game a shot. I for one cannot shut up about it!    … Expand

    It is a fact that you've never played a game like this before. Mad House Art to the max; Very decisive to the bone marrow and there will never be a game like this. The shortcomings are to be expected in this game for the now-independent studio, however, I have grown to love these shortcomings upon first interaction.
    In short, this game is really stupid and very fun.

    I played and end the game take 57 hour long.I'm so addictive and i love it. Addictive gameplay and great story that make me cry a lot at the end game. Don't waste your time in ep1-2 much its just introduce of the world of death stranding ep 3 is the real game begin.

    A very unique title, i found it engrossing from start to finish, my connection to my BB and other porters. This game is unlike any other before it. Do buy it if you are even thinking about it. Great music, interesting cast and great cutscenes. Combat felt very tense, I very much enjoyed this title from Kojima and I cannot wait to see what he has in store next.

    Awesome exceeded expectations
    Actually I don't like most inventory management and delivering quests in games but in these game it works. Because there is different tools and mechanics you need to keep track of to get from point A to B.
    All negative reviews are about MGS but this is a different game and best one from Kojima.

    The game is really good despite the delivering, that gets boring, when you play it in its totality.
    But after finishing the game, I get why the progression had to be this way.
    It's not for everyone, for sure but doesn't deserve anything below a score of 7 or even 8 with no doubt.
    If you liked the No Man's Sky system you'll like this game.

    This is real art. The plot and soundtrack are amazing. Of course, the main disadvantage is the repetitive gameplay based on one mesanic-dragging of boxes, also the physics of transport, which simply enrages simple battles with bosses, but it’s worth overcoming for a really amazing story.

    I want to start off my rating by saying that this game is not for everyone. Fortunately enough I am not “everyone”. I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game. I could not put the game down once I got past it’s sluggish start. Your enjoyment from this game is all going to stem from the expectations you have of it. If you set proper expectations I believe you will enjoy playing this game. StopI want to start off my rating by saying that this game is not for everyone. Fortunately enough I am not “everyone”. I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game. I could not put the game down once I got past it’s sluggish start. Your enjoyment from this game is all going to stem from the expectations you have of it. If you set proper expectations I believe you will enjoy playing this game. Stop looking at this game as a simple “fetch quest” game, or an action game because it is quite frankly neither. This game truly engulfs you into this incredibly beautiful yet apocalyptic world and it does not let you go. That being said, I’m not gonna lie, once I received the first quest of the game and it had me deliver one item from point a to point b, and then has you do it again, and again... and again I rolled my eyes and said, “oh, so this is THAT kind of game.” Aka a game I would usually hate. However, there is something to be said about the breathtaking landscapes that are in this game not to mention a well put together story. By the end of it all I went from dreading making a delivery from one place to the other to being actually bummed out that I had reached the end. I honestly did not want it to end. I felt like there was still so much of the world that I hadn’t seen, other paths to take for deliveries...etc. The strand system that kojima has implemented in this game (players working together collectively to build structures In the game) Is very well thought out. There were countless times by where a complete stranger building a structure previously in their game made my journey exponentially easier and you can’t help feeling compelled to build structures of your own and contribute resources to help other players complete their structures as well. It’s like everyone is working together to help make your journey that much easier. If you can make it past the first 3 episodes of the game, I believe you will thoroughly be pleasantly surprised at how much you will enjoy the journey to the very end. If you’re looking for a shooter/action/rpg type game though you should look elsewhere. Death stranding is unapologetically a game of its own and it does not care if you like it or not. At the end of the day if you play this game from start to finish I truly believe that you might not sit there and say, “wow, this is definitely game of the year!” Or, “Wow! This is the best game I have ever played.” But rather, “Wow! I am so happy that I got to experience this world, and what an incredible adventure.… Expand

    Probably the best game of generation. Tha game enginne is incredible. The game physics are pretty good, in special the fact that the gravity axis changes due the charge and the way the character carries them. The incredible soundtrack can change the entire game.

    This is legitimately my favorite game of the year and potentially my favorite PS4 exclusive to date, The game boasts beautiful environments, an excellent score, innovative gameplay, and a truly engaging story.

    I understand some of the criticism and can se how this game is not for everyone, however, the plethora of zeros Death Stranding received on release day are inconceivable.

    Absolutely one of the best games I have ever played. A completely new game of it's own action adventure genre. I am so absolutely in love with this game. First Kojima game and this game beats my favorite game of all time The Witcher 3, completely deserving of a 10 out of 10.

    I do truly love this game. It's like a community build game, where everyone contributes to make both their own world better at the same time everyone else. I do wonder what would happen if very few bought the game, because the power that runs the whole game lays in it's player base. This is a completely new experience and I highly recommend you to try the game before making assumptions

    By far a game that is enjoyable and relaxing. It didnt oversell itself up until its release and it didnt under sell it either. This game just speaks Hideo Kojima and he has shown us how his creative ideas can be entertaining and amusing.

    Ok, this is getting odd. Even though this game isn't a Mass Appeal Game, I don't understand why they're all giving it a zero. I actually think the game is fun, you just have to play it with the right mindset to enjoy it. It's a slower paced game with a heavy narrative focus, and more about the experience than a obvious Shoot Bad Guys Gameplay Loop. The Main gameplay loop is more of anOk, this is getting odd. Even though this game isn't a Mass Appeal Game, I don't understand why they're all giving it a zero. I actually think the game is fun, you just have to play it with the right mindset to enjoy it. It's a slower paced game with a heavy narrative focus, and more about the experience than a obvious Shoot Bad Guys Gameplay Loop. The Main gameplay loop is more of an environmental puzzler where you try to find a way through harsh terrain, and it's quite fun if you enjoy these kind of simulations. It's not a regular walking simulator either, because the walking is actually quite complex at times.

    Anyways, if anyone is reading this, I'm not so sure if many of these reviewers actually even bought and played the game.    … Expand

    This game is not for any retarded fortnite/battleroyale or COD fanboys who just want to shoot and respawn endlessly in a game. This game is not perfect (8 or 9) but I am giving it 10 just because some idiots are review bombing it. The music, story and attention to detail makes it so immersive and really makes me feel as if I am really living the game's virtual world.

I just finished the game and to be honest at the beginning it felt really boring and not very interesting but as the story went along it was very interesting and its safe to say that this game has one of the most confuzing and at the same time amazing story telling. the combat for me was phenomenal the fight with mules shows that you are not a fighter just a delivery guy and that is why you can only do a 3 hit combo. people that are hating about that please have paitence you have so much to see and expirence the fights with higgs especially even the long walking and delivering cargo for me was very epic because of how detiled this game is and how the backaround of the player looks amazing just every aspect of the game seems like its on some another level. The game itself is not for everyone but the gamers that adore kojima and have a little paitence will be hipnotised by this amazing journey and have the best moments in their gaming world. So many haters for a great game and its really not fair for people to give it such low scores just because its not their cup of tea. This game is not for everyone. We should reward delevopers for taking risks, and if you dont like it at least give it a fair review. This games does not deserve any of the negative reviews. If people want developers to take big risks and do something new they shouldnt punish those who try. In my book this game is a huge success. It reminds me a lot of MGS V in the style and the way the game is set up. The game really rewards players for all the extras they take on to help others. I like that the game has so much more to it than combat. We need games like this for diverse experiences. Personally I would give the game an 8/10 but due to all the zero bombers I’m giving it a 10.     One of my favorite games the multiplayer aspect is interesting the story and graphics are fantastic and I love getting better gear to explore and adventure further into the world. (I would like to point out that you get a motorcycle pretty early on so it's not a walking simulator.)

    O Jogo entrega tudo que foi pedido, e até mais, realmente o jogo não é pra todos. Ele tem que ter paciência, mais mesmo assim a dinâmica fica envolvente e cativante durante o desenvolvimento do jogo, você fica querendo ir mais profundo, e saber oque vai acontecer ao o rumo da história.     Despues de terminar el juego puedo analizar y sacar mis propias concluciones , HIDEO KOJIMA lo a vuelto hacer , para mi es un increible juego que se siente bien desde principio a fin , es un juego que va avanzando a su medida , cada recorrido es distinto en cada partida , y todo es acompanado con una grandiosa musica tanto ambiental como musical que esta muy bien implementada , laDespues de terminar el juego puedo analizar y sacar mis propias concluciones , HIDEO KOJIMA lo a vuelto hacer , para mi es un increible juego que se siente bien desde principio a fin , es un juego que va avanzando a su medida , cada recorrido es distinto en cada partida , y todo es acompanado con una grandiosa musica tanto ambiental como musical que esta muy bien implementada , la sensacion de inmersion es buenisima , los personajes son realmente interesantes y cada uno aporta lo suyo , tienen su distincion propia como lo hacian los personajes de la saga metal gear , viniendo de su creador era mas que claro que se notaria , en cuanto al doblaje puedo decir que yo siendo de latinoamerica esta muy bien logrado , aunque soy de jugar con las voces originales , el idioma latino me gusto bastante , para mi es sin duda un juego diferente pero realmente bueno e interesante , se ve hermoso cada lugar , eh aqui donde mucha gente cometio el error de comprar algo por hype o sin siquiera entender lo que su creador queria transmitir y eso es justo lo que acabo de escribir atras , no es un juego enfocado al combate , no es un FPS , es un juego donde tienes que administrar ciertas cargas que sam (el personaje principal) va llevar ala espalda en los brazos o atados alas piernas para asi lograr recorrer largas distancias mediante un terreno complicado y aqui es donde la estrategia toma ese papel que muchos no estan tomando en cuenta , hay que saber por donde moverte , pensarte si escalar una montana o evitarla , si adentrarte algun campamento de las mulas enfrentarlos o pasar desapercibidos, si pasaras un rio a pie o colocar un puente para asi no terminar perdiendo el paquete o los paquetes que vamos a entregar , hay que destacar que las misiones de entrega son variadas , unas exigen un periodo de tiempo para ser entregadas , otras exigen delicadeza ya que son cargas fragiles y cualquier golpe podria arruinarlas , es interesante que medios vas a tomar para asi facilitar todo el recorrido , y es eso , un juegazo que se disfruta en cada recorrido planificando cada camino y cada entrega , afrontando claramente los peligros que se te van a presentar como los llamados VT esos seres que si te atrapan desencadenaran una arena para pelear con algun mini jefe , todo esta bien pensado , dentro de estos combates puedo decir que esta en su punto justo ,no son combates extremos pero si combates muy inmersos, es razonable pues se trata de seres a los que podras vencer con granadas de sangre que tu mismo puedes fabricar , hay que tomar en cuenta que no eres un soldado elite , no eres un profecional con artilleria pesada , solamente eres un repartidor , se entiende que dentro de estos combates haya un poco de simpleza pero eso no hace que sean malos los enfrentamientos ya que la inmersion sigue siendo brutal , en esto tambien agregar que nuestro BB va empezar a estrezarse y a llorar y eso le agrega un aspecto mas crudo y agobiante lo cual hace que la inmersion aumente y se sienta genial entrar a este tipo de arenas de combate , la duracion del juego es bastante larga y disfrutable , cada vez se van desglozando ciertas cosas que al inicio quedaban como dudas, y como no mensionar ese increible final que te va dejar impresionado , y puedo decir que su apartado online asincronico es un apartado muy bien implementado , las construcciones de otras personas apareceran en tu mundo y estas ayudan bastante y sacan de apuros en mas de una ocacion , tu puedes optar si usarlos o no , si dejar likes o no , ya seria tu decicion y asi funciona ese apartado es muy bueno realmente encontrarte con torres que te protegeran de la miasma, algun letrero que te indicara a lo que te podrias enfrentar en esa area , o quizas una escalera para asi facilitar la subida de alguna montana, es increible , no se si me este dejando algun detalle pero las ideas que HIDEO KOJIMA implemento estan muy bien logradas y ami terminaron por gustarme muchisimo , para concluir despues de terminar el juego puedo decir que no hagas caso alas malas criticas sin fundamentos , es aceptable que un juego no te guste pero por esa razon no la vas a catalogar de ser una mierda , hay que darse cuenta que detras del juego existe un equipo de desarrollo que invirtio tiempo y dedicacion para ofrecer algo nuevo y eso en mi caso es de agradecerse ,este es un juego que recomiendo ala gente que quiere algo nuevo e inmersivo , no es para todos por eso hay que resaltar que si buscas un fps o algun battle royale o algun juego que este de moda pues no sera lo tuyo, GRACIAS KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS!!… Expand

    FACT
    After that time you rarely walk and when you do, your walking is enhanced by various different tools. Also, the game is as polished as God of War was when it released. You'll have a hard time finding a game that runs this smooth without any hiccups, crashes, glitches and so on.

    The menus feel a little overwhelming when you first start out, but as you get to know and navigate them, everything makes sense.

    This game creates a level of immersion that I haven't felt in a video game before. Even though the game is in 3rd person, you feel like you are Sam Porter Bridges.

    Another thing I really like is the attention to detail when it comes to weapons, gimmicks l, quality of life improvements and vehicles. You get so much cool stuff, you'll have a hard time picking the tools you want to use.

    The style is the best part. If you liked the metal gear series, it is most likely because you like the way Kojima makes his creations look on screen. The characters and the vehicles all look so cool. I wasn't going to review the game, but seeing it sitting at 5.9 user score is beyond ridiculous. It is above a 9.5/10 easy. I'm so glad I get to play this awesome game and seeing it being downvoted by, I don't know what to call these people, is just sad.
    It's disrespectful towards a free and creative mind like Kojima. This dude is a blessing for the gaming community.

    Don't let anybody fool you. If you like open world,
    If you like post apocalypse,
    If you like single player games,
    If you like Kojima's style,

    This game is an absolute must have in anybody's collection.
    Among the top 10 of this generation, hands down.

I like a challenge that isn’t always necessarily having to do with fighting. That being said, I’ve beaten the game and the late game/end game fighting is beautiful. The story is a cinematic masterpiece, winding through different parts until uniting as one. The story of Clifford Unger and Sam are beautiful. Ameilie and Bridget both play their roles well in terms of being creepy and somewhat revealing when you figure out they’re the same person later in the game.… Expand

    Death Stranding is something strange indeed. The biggest problem is that many will get bored before the game actually starts. If you focus on everything except the main story, it can quickly become monotonous and boring. The story is so absurd that you think about it when you sleep, work and do anything but play.     BUT NOT if you play games for a quick shooty shooty bang bang level up dopamine hit after your 9/5 job. YES it's a walking simulator, it's more walking simulator than any "walking simulator" you've ever played.     YES it's a walking simulator, it's more walking simulator than any "walking simulator" you've ever played. Usually walking is a way to get to the gameplay, but in this case the walking IS the gameplay. The reason people aren't sure whether or not they should call the game "fun" is because it's a game that legitimately makes you think and soak up every detail, along with a very slow pace and a bonkers storyline with deep themes and very kojima writing. Clearly, this is not an experience everyone will enjoy, and all the 0/10 user reviews on metacritic are proof enough of that. However, if you feel like it's something you would enjoy, PLAY IT (don't just watch videos about it), rent it from a redbox, whatever, and come up with YOUR OWN opinion instead of leeching off the opinions of others.    … Expand

    A game that pioneered a generic and cliché era, Death Stranding manages to be groundbreaking in everything it does, from its fantastic story never seen before, to the chance to bring real actors into the gaming world.     This is a work of art, i loved everything about this game. I already have 40 hours of game and I can't stop playing. There is a little repetive quests but even so I liked everything. For me of all the games that I played it took the first place.

    Este juego es una experiencia única en muchos aspectos , muy buen y original soundtrack , gameplay tipo ( survival real life struggling simulator ) quizá un nuevo género que nunca habíamos visto , historia que no le pide nada a los mejores libros de literatura ciencia ficción , es un universo intrigante y con bases para crear una serie o novela fácilmente.     Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
