A game that delivers jaw dropping visuals with an immense beautiful, insanely stunning backdrop. The gameplay loop is so immersive, even down to its control mechanics that’ll pull you into this world and never let go until the end.     Love how this game works. And the whole delivery system is pretty entertaining, how the players help each other is something im. Story is well made and gameplay is awesome. Defenetly must have.

Je vous avoue que la fois où j'ai voulu l'acheter j'étais très mitigé à cause des notes qui vont de 0 à 3 mais en réalité tout ceux qui mettent ces notes ne sont nul autres que ceux qui n'ont pas joué au jeu. Je ne l'ai pas encore fini je suis à l'épisode 5 et aucun ennui. Il y a beaucoup d'action mais lesBonjour bonjour et oui vous ne rêvez pas un 10/10 encore un chef d'œuvre de Kojima !     The real problem with the game is that if you want to complete all the missions, it is too long lasting.
      When I was about to get to 300 playing Hrs, I started to think that this would be Kojima's worst game (still being an excellent game).

      I should have voted 10 due to a story deserving 12, an overall technical quality deserving 10 and a gameplay deserving 7.5 just because of the stress caused by the number of side quests.
      Considering that if you play in hard mode and only the main missions, the gameplay gets a 9, the perfect score is not an option for me.
      The genre is rather unique, the environmental interaction is the best ever made, and the plot can only be compared with BioShock Infinite's or predestination's / shutter island's / Inception's, and Kojima also created the most complete and coherent fiction world ever seen. I preferred the Metal Gear saga (I love stealth), but it's for this game that I can say Kojima truly is a genius.
      For those who hate gameplay I highly recommend seeing a "game movie" on YouTube, it's more pleasant and interesting than most Hollywood movies, anyway Death Standing Is a Must-to-play or Must-to-see    … Expand

Great story and interesting gameplay, another masterpiece of genius.but the game was accepted ambiguously because such bold experiments always entail misunderstanding, but even if the gameplay turned out to be too ambiguous it is still a game from Hideo Kojima, which means that the game has a brilliant, interesting and confusingit’s very rare in our time to see such a bold experiment.     Death Stranding is one of the most unique and fresh open world games that I have ever played. I enjoyed everything from the story, to the beautiful world and even the gameplay. Hideo kojima first post Konami is incredibly charming and I would say that it's one of my favorite favorite experiences in a video game.

Due to some environmental dangers, people live in underground bunkers and rely on porters to help deliver items. it is not totally empty because you occasionally run into other ''porters',    Death stranding is definitely my Game of The Year. Let's dive in!

    Quick Summary:
    An open-world game with a very (almost) empty world (akin to games like Last Guardian, Shadow of the Colossus, Ico etc). Due to some environmental dangers, people live in underground bunkers and rely on porters to help deliver items. it is not totally empty because you occasionally run into other ''porters', Mules/thieves, trigger happy terrorists, BTs. You are tasked with reconnecting the world and reconnect America while you experience some epic story-telling, ADDICTIVE gameplay, soothing score and satisfying ending.

    Plot: 10/10
    - Spot on!! absolutely engaging Sci-Fi story. It is very heavy on the sci-fi genre, with crosses into 'horror' and fantasy. The storytelling is deep! Every cutscene, even the tiny memory flashes all tie-up in the end.
    - The story develops slowly, suspenseful but intentionally to for you to draw up conclusions and conspiracies - before some crazy - WTF reveal moments that will keep you gobsmacked and emotional (due to some head-swelling moments). Feel free to jump into conclusions, that is the point.
    - There is an explanation for everything! (think of one thing you don't see or can't do; 24 hr cycle? no animals? game-over and continues? there are explanations.

    Gameplay: 11/10
    Now, if you do not like games like "Shadow of the Colossus" or "Last Guardian", it may take a while for it to grow on you.
    - Its gameplay is highly relaxing, you move across a gorgeous landscape, discover some soothing songs and just walk, it is very relaxing.
    - FREEDOM! no pathway, you chart your own course! scale mountains, exhaust your supplies, batteries and finally completing a tough delivery can be super satisfying. This is the only OpenWorld game where I bothered about sidequests. They were addictive
    - The map is not limited, you can go as far as the lands go, there are no ships and you can't swim (so deal with waters at the end of the world).
    - Walking, staggering and balancing gameplay can be very immersive, especially on mountainous terrains.
    - Yes, the fight scenes are not engaging as such; but after some time; you realize the game is not about the fight mechanics, and you have infinite continues DOOMS. ;)
    - The strand system, oh PERFECT fit. The game throws some tough missions at you, make you suffer through a region, and then finally allows you to link the area - and you have this sense of relief! well, executed.

    Graphics: 11/10
    Best looking game on PS4 this year, motion capture are super detailed; You can tell these are seasoned actors; they really relieve the characters they play. It makes the long cutscenes really interesting to watch.
    The world is detailed!!! lush grees, drylands, rocks. Change of terrain when BTs get you! awesome.

    Sound: 10/10
    The songs in this game are really soothing; usually discovered in very quiet and wide areas; camera pans out to let you absorb the details, then the music comes on. This gives it a really aesthetic feel. Perhaps some of the songs are average, but the way they are presented. Good Job!

    CONCLUSION:
    You cannot enjoy this game by watching someone play it. You have to experience it yourself to really feel the immersion. I love it and finally, I get it cannot be for everyone. We all have our tastes.

    This game is definitely not for you if:
    - You are impatient
    - You hate hiking
    - You hate Shadow of Colossus / Last Guardian.
    - You are big on hack/slash.

    Dive in, experience it; whatever the case! They will be waiting for you on the beach!    … Expand

If you weren't interested in it from the beginning or if you don't agree with the gameplay, i.e. the RIGHT gameplay, then it's ok. But there are many people who only hear you deliver packages and then startDeath stranding is something special.     In game's begin it's little bit boring,but this is only first 2-3 hours. Then game gives you interesting quests and with help of real people this becoming easy and interesting. I've spent about 30 hours without cutscenes. And this was amazing, i've enjoyed every second in this game.

    This game isn't for everyone, it's true, the game is just A LOT of walking, but this game is a so good, the story is rewarding, and the soundtrack is the best I've heard, so I won't say everyone should play this, but if your into games that make you feel, than buy it rn.

    I really understand that the game have some fails and bugs. But I also understand that this game wasn't designed to please everyone. I, for example, don't think the game is boring at all, except for the endless and repetitive cutscenes, like the shower, entering private rooms, entering the trucks and so on.     I think Kojima could improve some aspects of the game and make it more fluid in some aspects, making it less annoying (cutscenes). The enemies could be more "motivated" and make the game more challenging.
    Aside from those remarks, the game is fantastic, the story is really good and the soundtrack and the scenery are amazing too.
    Maybe this game is a Kojima experiment on what he can do by himself without Konami.
    All we can do now is enjoy (or hate) and wait for the next moves, like a DLC, updates, etc.    … Expand

    I finished the game in 90 hours. And I could easily spend even more time, because this is an incredible game! An exciting story and a strong plot, the delightful acting of all the actors ... This is the next level game. This is definitely one of the best games of recent years, and yes, it has become my favorite game ... Thank you Kojima Prod., with love from Russia

    Such an incredible game as you journey across the map trying to understand and unravel what is going on with the death stranding, void outs and BTs. There are amazing characters and development of them; you feel like you know them and can see how they effect the bigger picture and Sam's life. BB is the best character IMO and this game is absolutely amazing.

It's a mix of everything! I really can't write how amazing, massive and how good the community that plays this game is

    This is a love it or hate it game. if you only enjoy FPS, fighting and fast paced online games, this is not for you. But if you love a great story, some unique gameplay and a bit of strategy in a game, you will probably love this.

    The game takes 50-70 hours to complete and there are hours of cutscenes. Taken alone the cutscenes present a 3+ hour movie that can be confusing at times, but    This is a love it or hate it game. if you only enjoy FPS, fighting and fast paced online games, this is not for you. But if you love a great story, some unique gameplay and a bit of strategy in a game, you will probably love this.

Taken alone the cutscenes present a 3+ hour movie that can be confusing at times, but by the end make this one of the most emotional games I have ever played. I haven't been drawn into a games story like this since FF7 and in a smaller way Last of Us.

    The graphics are incredibly good for PS4, I am really curious if they will remaster this for the PS5 to take the graphics to the next level. As it is, it is beautiful but PC's can now do more so it's limits are visible. Sound is also incredible and the soundtrack is haunting while being appropriate for the game. No jarring heavy metal or club music in the middle of the wilderness.

    The gameplay is unique and where most people are either all in or just hate it. At it's core is a delivery/travel game that has you crossing the country as a heroic walking UPS van. You are evading gangs, ghosts and weather the whole way. Plus the weather destroys your cargo if you waste too much time in it. So it adds some strategy to the delivery system.

    Kojima style boss fights are littered here and there, with one(Higgs) being my only complaint, as it is so outside the mechanics of the regular game as to make me almost ding a point for it. But in the end it's just one fight that I disliked and the rest of the game was fun,

    I found unique ways to get past some obstacles and with the mostly open world you travel it allows you to choose long ways around, fight your way through or even create your own sky tram system to move round the world to speed you up. I spent hours building a fast travel system in the mountains that saved me tons of headaches and replays when I was up in the mountains.

    Plus as a bonus, other people playing the game might just cross into your world and the bridges, ladders, ropes and stations they leave behind can be used to help get you through. I found this aspect especially good because I would choose to leave things behind for the next guy to use. You can award likes to other players for their well placed assistance and get likes for what you leave for them. The likes are a score system for the whole game and help unlock better gear.

    Overall there is no other game like this, which is a shame because I would love to keep playing in new areas and new story arcs. Crossing my fingers for an even bigger sequel.    … Expand

    This is one of the most diversive games. It's surely is not for everyone. But it is epic! Amazing story, gameplay is chasing from stealth to now action (plus stealth+action on other parts) after Chapter 4, a lot of twist, great character development! Combine these with the amazing graphics and soundtrack and you have one of the best games of this generation!

    Incredible, the game I've been waiting my whole life for. I was a big fan of the original metal gear games on PS1, but never played MGS4 and never got into MGS5. This is the first open world game I have ever completed and trust me, I have tryed many others, and also worked for one of the largest game studio that produces some of the most popular open world games on the market. The boss battles were unreal, and oh so satisfying and the acting and story was just so great, also your little BB (baby you carry around in a pod), is probably the greatest video game character ever created, I was so invested in his safety right from the first moment I got him! The game has to be played to be fully appreciated, and this is from someone who really dislikes open world games! I don't know how anyone couldn't love this masterpiece, and that's what it is, a masterpiece. sand the relentless push towards games where the key mechanic is combat, has never really been my thing.… Expand

It might seem boring and repetitive at first, but once you get to build more stuff, it is just too addictive and fun. I had the most fun building dozens of ziplines all over the place to be able to deliver packages really really fast. As Kojima gives player a lot of freedom in DS, there are really a lot of different ways to play & enjoy the game.… Expand

The negative reviews I cannot judge.. this journey of a game is not for everyone.. the story is very very complex and the gameplay to me is fantastic and engaging with beautiful visuals. However some may find it repetitive or boring.. personally I felt it as relaxing. Carrying packages andNO SPOILERS!! This game was the most emotionally connected I’ve ever been to a game and a STORY!     The best review is that I still think about this game after a few weeks. I can't forget Death Stranding and I miss this feeling when I traveled this world with silence and peaceful joy, and lister to Low Roar music. Masterpiece, but not for everyone. If something is doing to be for all of us, in the end, is for none of us.

    Added this one to my masterpiece collection (GTA5, all Metal Gear, Red Death R., Metro, Last of Us). You really need to take your time to enjoy this game. I personally turned off the online mode because I didn't like to see bridges, etc. poping up to help me. Don't need to rush, plan your deliveries, you have multiple ways to accomplish them. In this game you can't carry everything you see. Objects have weight, dimensions and affect your performance, movements. This is why this game is so revolutionary, I wondered why no one ever thought about this before.

    There are no perfect games that would fit everyone wishes, so don't criticize just because you don't like 1 or 2 things. The overall experience is really satisfying, I'll remember this game forever as one of the best I've played.

    Kojimas first time working with Sony is pretty excellent but still has some problems, the game seems to drag on for far too long, once you finish the story you’ll be dreading the thought of continuing Sams ups route, the endgame snow areas are a pain and unfun to navigate through, the story oozes Kojimas touch, however there are some certain cutscenes make me cringe.     A masterpiece in every way. Unlike 99% of games made today that are recycled from one another. However, I’m not sure how long it takes to complete the story (maybe 50 hours?), so you need to have a lot of patience and time for the payoff.

    Piece of art, this is my only description about this outstanding game! I never played Hideo Kojima games, but some people recommended/convinced me play this one.
    From the start it was garbage ( 1-8 hours ) but after, if you understand game it is, you will be keep playing end of the game. And finish ? It blow your mind

    Death Stranding is not for everyone for sure. But I can’t remember the last time I got so emotional while playing a videogame. I couldn’t fall asleep for three hours after I finished this masterpiece. I’m not a fan of Kojima, I didn’t even knew who he was, when I started playing DS. I’m just sorry there are so many people who don’t like this game.

I kept buying titles and just be bored shortly after started playing but I somehow managed to sink 100 hours in Death Stranding .. Not whitout some good reasons .     I'm not a fan of Hideo Kojima, Metal Gear saga was never interesting to me (sorry for that), but Death Stranding really touched me, is a special game, the soundtrack is amazing, the dared mechanics worked perfect to me and the story was really amazing. Is a must have for every PS owner.

    I Really believe any that many games could use this type of open world terrain to it's fullest extent, there is just something amazing in it's scope and how it makes you feel so small compared to the world, it is wonderful, and exceedingly beautiful in a PS4 Pro, even in performance mode.

    I was already a (Dark Souls reference here) Praise the Sun dude, Sun-Bro (cooperative) and Blade of the Darkmoon (anti-pk) guy before the game came out, so I had a pretty good idea how the asynchronous "strand" multiplayer would work. And so it was, I was obsessed by the notion of being able to help other players, specially those who, as I've seen in countless youtube playthroughs and twitch streams, just rushed the main quest. Man, these people suffered without unlocking the "side missions" gear upgrades. I spent countless hours building and optimizing my structures so they could serve others as best as possible, rather then myself.

    Despite de game pacifist vibe, I found the so called Mules (petty thieves with some kleptomaniac disorder) and terrorists, who actually try to murder you, deserving of a punishment greater then just being knocked out or put to sleep with tranquilizer ordinance, so I murdered them all as they attacked me and delivered their cold bodies to the incinerator, as the game story will show you, bodies cannot just be left to rot.

    I can't recommend this game enough. Maybe it's not for you, but I urge you to take the time to reach chapter 3 before calling the game boring or giving up, but in the end, you gotta try it yourself and make up your mind.

    As for me, It was not just a game, it was a work of art that left a lasting impression.
    Even as a FromSoft fanboy, I can safely say Sekiro was not the GOTY, Death Stranding should have won that.    … Expand

    Not a game for everyone, but absolutely hooked me. Loved everything from start to finish. The BT encounters are very high stress & really impactful. Story is enjoyable. It’s very easy to get wrapped up in the world of Death Stranding and enjoy all the details and focus on the little things. I have been binge playing it non stop & don’t plan on stopping even after completing the main story

    The best game I've ever played in my entire life.
    Maybe this is not a flawless game. But It's raw and experimental. I love it, because many games these days are just same gameplay with silently better graphics than its previous game.
    Story was beautiful, gameplay is so addictive and fun.

    The gameplay is immersive that kept me hook for more than 100 hours. A unique atmosphere that you have never seen on any games yet. It literally defied all genre today.

    This game is not for everyone but it's definitely for me. The story is absolutely amazing and the ending is great, the best i have seen in a game for a long time. This is a genre defining game and really good at it. Well done Hideo Kojima!!!

    Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
