    Call of duty modern warfare is a beautifully made game with amazing graphics on both consoles and PCs. It controls really smoothly. Some guns do need some buffs. I really enjoy the shotgun meta as it encourages close up battles. Snipers are actually decent compared to the previous games where enemies would jump really high making sniping harder.     Loving the game sl much until a week ago ( April 6th) , the game has been fulfilled with cheaters either in multiplayer and WarZone which are ruinning the game experience. Neither Activision nor Infinity Ward are taking measures to solve this.

    Best Call of Duty game since Black Ops 2. Amazing gunplay, ultra-realistic graphics and one of the most important things about multiplayer, amazing map design. I'm not the biggest fan of the campaign as I've always been a multiplayer first gamer but after playing through around 70% of it, I'd say its alright (But not perfect).

    This call of duty is certainly reminiscent of the 2007 Call    Best Call of Duty game since Black Ops 2. Amazing gunplay, ultra-realistic graphics and one of the most important things about multiplayer, amazing map design. I'm not the biggest fan of the campaign as I've always been a multiplayer first gamer but after playing through around 70% of it, I'd say its alright (But not perfect).

    This call of duty is certainly reminiscent of the 2007 Call of Duty, which i have no problem with. But what I do have a problem with is how people are getting offended over russians being presented as bad guys whilst forgetting that Modern Warfare 1, 2 and 3 did the exact same.     At first the game was good, until hackers came and took the whole game and just started cheating so wackkkk, they need to add some sort of checking for hackers cuz the game sucks now, constant lagging, it’s no fun. Back to battlefield I guess. If you want to hack just go to ps3 and play cod waw or modern wafare three.

    Awful in every sense of the word, maps are the worst on any cod ever! Player visibility is ridiculous, time to kill is far far far to low!!! Game actively encourages camping and for the love of god don’t get me started on SBMM

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Campaign is inaccurate and is blaming Russia on war crimes that the US did (Highway Of Death). Pure US propaganda and very Russophobic. Shame on you, infinity ward. Regarding the campaign, I think they added some of the missions for shock value. Take how they have dead children in the campaign and hanging bodies. I honestly think that they want to make something like ‘No Russian’ but worse. I don’t know why. Spec ops is utterly terrible. After I finished the half ass campaign, I decided to embark on the spec ops mode. I was happy to play then when I realised that they had FOUR missions. Anyways, I then played through the missions to them realise that they are impossible to finish. And when I mean impossible, I mean 200 veteran bots rushing you and spraying at you and your team. It’s honestly broken and boring compared to other games. Multiplayer is actually pretty decent, although some scorestreaks are overpowered and should be nerfed/ removed. But honestly they need to nerf the 725, too overpowered.

    Warzone is a really fun and challenging game mode, I feel like it revived the game a little bit and gave some COD fans a reason to play. The Gulag is very fair and gives people another chance at winning the match. Overall I would give it a 6/10. If you’re a single player type of person, I strongly recommend buying a different title all together. This game is definitely not for you.    … Expand

    In spite of a stupid plot and absence of announced "grey moral", I enjoyed this game. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is one of the best games of the whole Call of Duty series. Let's compare it with other CoD games in this decade:
    BO4: sorry, but no campaign - no Call of Duty
    WW2: miserable parody on World at War IW: the only good thing is a soundtrack BO3: no words, it was VERY BAD!     I don't want to compare this game with MW2, Waw and MW1 because they're classic and could not be compared with a new generation game, but for me MW2 is the best CoD ever.
    Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a high-quality modern FPS without any futuristic **** Shooting here is pleasanty from any kind of weapon. The gameplay itself is dynamic and interesting. What is good - it's not the same in all missions and gives you time to rest from running and shooting and sometimes offers you different QTEs which I was missing. Graphic is stunning and realistic, pleasure for eyes. Characters are not stupid dummies who just open mouth during cutscenes - thanks for talented actors (Barry Sloane, Elliot Knight, Chad Michael Collins, Claudia Doumit and Konstantin Lavysh). Great soundtrack that gives me goosebumps - good work by Sarah Schachner.
    You can say anything, but this new part of Call of Duty deserves to be played. I always buy a new CoD only for campaign and this is the first campaigh for many years which I'll remember.    … Expand

    I expected Spec Ops to be split screen like modern warfare two. It's very annoying that multiplayer is but spec ops isn't or that there isn't any split screen offline playability.

    Infinity Ward tuvo la difícil tarea de recrear la saga más importante de la historia de Call of duty, Modern Warfare, y, sinceramente, me gusta. La historia es increíble, interesante y nostálgica, hablando gráficamente, me saco el sombrero por el excelente trabajo que hizo Infinity Ward.
    La jugabilidad es la misma que los anteriores CoD, no hay novedad. El multijugador es divertido, pero    Infinity Ward tuvo la difícil tarea de recrear la saga más importante de la historia de Call of duty, Modern Warfare, y, sinceramente, me gusta. La historia es increíble, interesante y nostálgica, hablando gráficamente, me saco el sombrero por el excelente trabajo que hizo Infinity Ward.
    La jugabilidad es la misma que los anteriores CoD, no hay novedad. El multijugador es divertido, pero a veces puede hacerte perder la cabeza, pero lo disfruto. Los Spec Ops, son ridículamente difícil pero, con un buen equipo puedes encontrarlo entretenido.
    Lo negativo de este juego es lo ABSURDO y RIDÍCULO que es el almacenamiento que tiene el juego (176GB), también, para agregar, es que el juego viene separado del multijugador y de los Spec Ops, en que sentido, tienes que descargar por un lado la campaña, por otro lado el multijugador y, por último, los Spec Ops.
    Los parches que recibe el juego también son exagerados (van desde los 4 hasta los 12GB), para poner un ejemplo, MGSV: Definitive Experience (abarca tanto Metal Gear Solid V como Ground Zeroes) salió en 2016 y hasta el día de hoy tuvo unas 4 actualizaciones de 100MB, por lo que el juego base más las actualizaciones pesan 40GB. Modern Warfare, con tan solo 3 temporadas, pesa 70GB.
    Pero bueno, para hacer un reinicio de la saga, van por buen camino, pero me encantaría ver a futuro una disminución ENORME tanto de las actualizaciones como el juego en sí    … Expand

    Camper friendly game. Nothing more or less. If you want to get shot everytime you move more then 10 meter because you want to run and gun - like you could in almost any other cod- you won't like that there is atleast one guy sitting in some camper spot aiming at an **** wall...

    Infinity Ward's and Activision's vision of defensive, wanna be tactical gameplay in Cod with the leaning mechanic that was already annoying in Cod ghosts destroys the arcade run and gun cod experience. Headglitches, safe spaces, doors, corners and recharging claymores are only some of the annoying mechanics in this game. And on top of that the sbmm ruins the already limited fun forInfinity Ward's and Activision's vision of defensive, wanna be tactical gameplay in Cod with the leaning mechanic that was already annoying in Cod ghosts destroys the arcade run and gun cod experience. Headglitches, safe spaces, doors, corners and recharging claymores are only some of the annoying mechanics in this game. And on top of that the sbmm ruins the already limited fun for old-school cod players or any casual player that just wants to run and gun like in the old days. On a certain skill lvl, every round plays exactly the same. Nobody moving, everybody camping. Especially in free for fall, most of the games end with the timelemit, the final score at the end being 10-15 out of 30 needed kills for victory (after 10mins)..
    No real perk or weapon variety, overloaded and badly designed maps that only benefit a slow and defensive play style as well as hackers occurring every 3-4 rounds in certain game modes only 6 months after release.
    In total even though the devs and publishers wanted to attract battlefield or rainbow six players, this game designed by the new IW mostly feels like an even worse Update of Cod Ghosts with Captain Price of Modern warfare of the original IW on the cover.
    Overall a total disappointment, only positives imo are graphics and sound (when it's not bugging)    … Expand

    Worst cod till now for me.Really bad balance not a single moment of fun online. Spawns are ridiculous. Too expensive for what it is especially when warzone is free. Campaign is completely bugged.

    First of all the game takes a lot of space and with all the updates it takes 4x as much space as my other games. Second of all there is no good maps in multiplayer and they all feel very average, The weapons are very unbalanced and after all these updates are still broken. Overall i'm angry that I bought this game for $60 it was a huge waste of money.… Expand

    Plus, it's 6 months past release and they have yet to address the spawn camping issue, making in closer to a get-beaten-in-the-prison-showers simulator than an actual FPS, but fear you not new crappy skins will roll into the cash shop as fast as possible!

    This game is garbage, I've spent more time downloading patches than actually playing it, and guess what? Waiting for the patches was the best part.

    Aside from the absurd amount of updates, what happened to the leveling system? Why cant we prestige like previous games and receive a new badass prestige rank icon to showoff?? There was NOTHING wrong with that system! It gave us. sense of accomplishment. i felt like a badass when I finally reached prestige 8,9,10 so on and so forth. There is no sense of accomplishment if you reach 150 and get dropped to 50 after the season is over or even worse, drop to level 1 because of the stupid leveling glitch that they still havent fixed. It discourages you from playing!!!

    Speaking of seasons and battle passes.... This whole battle pass thing is the worst thing to grace this industry. Its grotesque, unnecessary, and down right scummy. Its because of this battle pass that leveling your rank is a complete crap shoot. All this to please the publishing gods and satisfy their greedy pockets. Its disgusting the amount of money Activision makes and still have the audacity to ask for more.

    Ways to improve the game:
    1. Deliver updates behind the scenes aka overnight.
    2. Bring back the prestiging leveling system.
    3. If you are going to have a battle pass, do not let the leveling rank suffer. Bring back prestiging as an independent leveling system for those that do not want to buy/participate in the battle pass and an independent leveling system exclusive for battle pass members. Gameplay accomplishments and experience will apply to either player prestige or both systems depending if the player purchased the battle pass.

    There, I fixed three glaring issues with this game and it only took me several minutes. Will it happen? Absolutely not but I needed a place to rant and let my frustrations out.

    Other those things, the campaign is very good. The cinematic cutscenes are so well done and the characters are so incredible lifelike. The team really nailed the core atmosphere of Modern Warfare and really pushed it to the limits. Game play is solid also. The shooting mechanics have always been incredible and this game is no exception. Spec ops on the other hand is incredible lack luster. There arent that many missions and the ones available are boring and leave a lot to be desired. After experiencing the Campaign, you would expect the same level of story telling and action but you dont get any of that in Spec Ops. This is a playlist that can be removed and most the players wouldnt care.

    Thats it for my review. i give this game a generous 6/10.    … Expand

    Gameplay is generally pretty good. But the game is plagued by regular, over-sized patches. To add insult to injury, the patching servers have been faulty for weeks (Meaning if you do get to download the patch, it is incredibly slow). And there seems to be no sign of these servers being repaired anytime soon. Good game / Bad infrastructure and support. I'd give it a miss.

    With any graphic setting combination: Shadows are pixelated and they start like moving in a weird manner like in GTA 4 and Skyrim un-patched. Borders of fences and wires are like moving in a weird manner too. I would prefer it having BO2 graphics (wich are pretty nice, no visual bugs and the performance is great) with SS-AO and some Post Processing instead of being unplayable because of the world looking completely glitched.

    And the only Aliasing options are SM-AA wich... is not perfect.

    I mean im not saying that having bad graphics make the game bad but this kind of bugged graphics is generating a visual fatigue that makes the game completely unplayable unless you are a frickin' masochist.

    Textures aren't compressed too which causes the dynamic texture system to make textures look like play-doh sometimes.

    The game just gives the impression that it was made in a crappy engine like unreal engine. The downgrade on the COD game engine just got this low to be unplayable and buggy graphically.    … Expand

    This game literally almost gets worse with every single update is over 100 gb and counting. This game alone has taken up my almost my entire storage. This wouldn’t be a huge problem if I could actually play in one of their **** servers half of the time. I have yet to talk to a person who doesn’t constantly have problems with this game. It’s absolutely ridiculous. Figure it out.

    Beaucoup trop de problème dans le jeu actuellement.. entre devoir attendre 40 minutes pour finalement trouver une partie mais que le serveur crash, les RPG et les AKIMBO clairement opé, les spawns foireux , la camp ebin... on a ici un beau tas de m****.

Thick SBMM, campers galore, awful connections, absolute worst maps, uninteresting guns, **** camos (i mean has anyone even seen the obsidian camo wtf...) and the most useless devs who dont test their game or give a **** about COD veterans and just want to spoonfeed the noobs.

Now BR (battle royale for you dumb asses out there) was not needed at all i tried it and it was ass you land you cant find **** or simply you cant even find a ****ing gun in most buildings and die already. Armor is too rare to find which shouldn't be rare to find at all since thats what you need to actually survive the gun fights. Gulag is the only thing i like about br cause it gives you another chance but who wants to go back just to get sniped by some bastard sitting on top of a building the whole game with the widest maps ive ever seen for a br game. Even pubg's maps add hills and **** so you cant get shot every time you move. In this game you sit on top of a roof where you can see the whole map and pick people off that cant even acquire a sniper cause they haven't reached a load out crate yet. The majority that win win with there load out (with a sniper) or by camping. Whats the point of having smgs and machine guns everywhere when people only use the snipers and an m4's...might as well just make those two the drops. This is without a doubt one of the most disappointing call of duty games ive ever played i honestly think i prefer Ghost than this one its that bad. Making things worse they wont remove Sbmm and just put a ranked mode for the stupid sweats i have to play against and again we get punished just for being good in a match and having to suffer 5 matches later. They also for some reason refuse to let use choose out maps because they know we hate like 80% of there maps which is sad. The reason I'm not a fan of this is because it can break the flow of the game and the immersion all together. With that in mind, there are some fantastic scenarios here ranging from good to great. Don't get me wrong, even with some added features to the control scheme, this still feels like the same old COD we know. But what has kept it fresh is the amount of variety sewn into each level due to the deep and intense story. And that story hit's the right marks. Yes, there is a cringe worthy moment or two due to the lack of subtlety to the message (“did we make the right call?”). However, the overall narrative does a good job exploring the ambiguous nature of modern war, way more than previous titles. There is some confronting stuff here and it's not just for shock value.

    More than anything though, the praise should go right to the visuals and sound. Wow, the graphics and art design look photo realistic at times and the sound is pretty much spot on. From the night-vision IR lighting to the snap of a round passing your head, it all draws you in to a intense atmosphere that can be hard to top.

    You'll still be paying top dollar for this game for some time. And even though it is the same COD game-play we have always had, it really is the next step forward in quality. AAA price for a AAA experience.    … Expand

    One of my Top 3 fav CoD games, story is great, gameplay is fun and the mechanics are good. It's sad seeing it get review bombed by angry Russians. I've always said it and I'll say it again Metacritic is the most unreliable review source precisely because it's so easy to review bomb games here. As for the game, I would recommend 100%. (Unless you're russian, I guess...)

    This games campaign is so anti-Russian, they say Russians bombed the highway of death even though the US did, also in a flashback mission to 1999 Russians killed the whole towns population, the town was called Haditha, in the Iraq war US marines killed 24 unarmed civilians in the town of Haditha. For some reason the devs just get war crimes committed by the US and say that it was Russia.

    The game is amazing the campaign is really good it made me feel emotions which has not happen in a long time for a call of duty game the multiplayer is really good with a little bug fixes it will be perfect. The Co-Op is actually playable now infinity ward is listening and fixing spec ops. Warzone is ok but I usually play multiplayer and the co-op.

    This game doesn't have any "gray morality" area it's just a game where you commit eat crimes, don't get punished for it. And when you're not committing war crimes and getting away with it, the game blames Russia for actual war crimes committed by the US or the UK like the highway of death in Hadith, Iraq was blamed on the Russians, that is one of countless examples no less.

    Top 4 of the Cods, maybe top 3. Gameplay feels fresh from the previous years. Choice to add cool realistic cammos is a nice touch. Worth to grind for damascus. Campaign feels good, and fun to play.

Although the gun sounds are disappointing and don’t sound anything like their real life versions. The fact that weapons are also given fake names is weird an less immersive , plus would be nice to have had a bit more realistic recoil and gun mechanics. the campaign was short although enjoyable with serval memorable missions that are much more In line with classic call of duty titles. The multiplayer is one of the better titles , although still nothing as good as call of duty 1-6. At least the maps seem a bit more like actual battlefields and not just square small arenas with 3 lanes like the past 10 years or so. Although removing all restrictions would be the best approach. Ground war on the more open maps is especially fun and brings it towards much more immersive and tactical titles. The time to kill is good but could be even more faster to make up for this I play hardcore mostly. War zone is the standard overdone battle royal mode which is uninteresting to me but one of the better battle royals if your are into them. Although it does have a cheater problem at the moment. The crossplay is also a nice feature , although lag and hit detection does seem to be an issue with the game being hit or miss if it’s playable. This is not my internet as I have 150/mbs internet and experience no issue with other games. Warning though this game will eat hard drive space and has constant updates. The customisation is also very impressive and the best in the series and is easily the high point of the game. However there is a lot of micro transactions and some of the prices are crazy such as £20 for a few skins which is crazy as you can get some actual games for that price , pure greed from activision as usual.… Expand

The COOP mode is boring, too grindy, and is ultimately a shell of its formal self. The only thing that saved this game is Warzone. Even though battle royale was not part of the game originally and came out months after release it has been its only saving grace. It offers play styles for both campers and people who want to race for kills. Warzone alone would probably receive a 8/10 but since it is part of the overall game I am giving it a 6/10 and that is being generous.… Expand

    I liked the campaign, it was decent. This game used to be OKAY overall, but I just tried playing it in 2021, I loaded up my old favorite, infected, and tried to play it for over a hour. Literally every match except but 2 made me auto infected, because I couldn't load in the game fast enough. I am legitimately considering ending my life with my .22.     After playing through the story, I thought this was a good entry into the series. It features some of the best visuals of all COD games and the acting is quite solid. I don’t play multiplayer so that’s just a disclaimer here. The controls are as tight as ever and the missions were also very enjoyable to play through.     The developers say they listen but they don't. Anytime you play the multiplayer you have to be lucky or naturally good. You can try to practice but due to the skill base match making your practically isolated from players of different strategies and skills. When at anytime a gun is unbalanced they do multiple nerfs.     spec ops is nice now
    and the campaing was one of the best ones in the history of call of duty

    When the most difficult part of your game is trying to have fun then you’ve failed as a game. The campaign is decent nothing to run home about, but the god awful multiplayer experience is the biggest reason as to why you should skip this installment.     when the game first came out it didn't win me over but as of updated it and fixed some of the things it has gotten much better less glitches but the spawns are still atrocious

Free dlc maps, weapons, and a decent battle pass system. Spec ops was pretty teribble at the beginning of the game, but it has improved over time. Great campagin.     Cant connect to the servers. Have tried everything but cant figure out the problema. Havent been able to reach decent support so pretty much I cant play the game.

    I guess the best modern COD, but still a far cry from what I used to expect from this series. My main issues with the game are things that sadly plague just about every modern game with multiplayer. But I won't deny that it was a bit of a return to form for the series.

    Started play this since launch.Its keeps gettin better all the time.
    Multiplayer so much fun and warzone.I think this game has i all for me.
    I played all call of dutys,i think this is the best one! I love this game!

    Everything is upside down. Call of Duty has a better solo campaign than multiplayer after many years. We will remember a perfectly scripted war with a dense atmosphere, but we’ll forget about the unbalanced online multiplayer. [Issue#298]

    After a multiplayer-centric episode, the COD fans will be delight with the return of a nervous and strong solo campaign. Modern Warfare is back with old-fashioned gameplay that is more grounded and efficient. The generous amount of content adds some depth to one of the best chapters of the saga to date. Magic!

    Overall Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a good title that is marred by the expectations that the Modern Warfare name brings with it. The campaign has some really stellar gameplay moments that are brought down by the mediocre plot. Multiplayer was fun but felt a bit like the competition’s output (despite there being no Battlefield release this year) which may be a turn off for some. I don’t think Modern Warfare 2019 has done anything to make me rethink waiting for substantial price drops to play Call of Duty campaigns, because clearly multiplayer is still Activision’s main focus and that’s just not where I get my kicks.
