    In general, it’s **** Single player was good, but too short. Multiplayer is the same **** as usual. I really don’t understand why you would keep playing the same thing over and over..

    Story: Shallow garbage. They basically copy paste the Russian man bad campaign from COD4 and add all these diversity characters which ruin the immersion completely. The writing is shallow and boring.     I couldn't bear this disaster any longer.

    Multiplayer: The initial honeymoon is good when you jump into the meta weapons like the m4 and mp5 and rape lobbies.The gunplay feels right, but there is such an obvious meta. Guns have no balance and lethals that support camping like the Claymore and the Mine have been buffed so that casual noob can safely pitch his tent in the corner to cockblock your nuke. But after that honeymoon ends you realize you arent even playing COD anymore. First off, the map design is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. People need to lose their jobs over this. They ruined the pace of TDM completely, primote camping with favorable mechanics. Most games end by a time limit and not by score??? Why, you may think - and its because people hide and camp. Either you are spawn camping or are gettign spawn camped because you win games and start getting thrown into noob lobbies that are losing 20 - 80 so that you can somehow clutch?
    Skill Based Match Making is atrocious because you're forced to sweat every game if you want to win. Even with this I maintain a 2.0 - 4.0+ KD most games, but 70% of the lobby is usually low lvl and have neg kd's, have no map awareness, and it always ends up you having to carry them. **** gets boring.
    I will say out of the 200 hours I put into this flaming pile of ****(I have began to question why I even let myself live) - there were a few games where the teams were evenly matched; like 5 games.

    Game Mechanics and Bugs.
    COD has had over a decade to learn how to implement vehicles and they are still lacking and 2 dimensional. Although not hugely buggy thanks to patches, there are still bugs that ruin the experience. Are you a chad that like to parkour everywhere? Dont crouch slide into your carepackage cause that'll kill you. Lots of dying behind cover after you slide into it because the SBMM built a lobby where you're the only one with double digit ping. Its a chorus of small **** that ticks you off and ruins the experience. Its obvious the game was rushed as just another soulless product for the corporate interests.

    Microtransactions and Cost:
    Thank god I didnt waste 90$ on this shallow wannabe COD imposter. Even on sale for 50$ I feel ripped off. Microtransactions are fully cosmetic so its not a big deal who wants to waste money on pixels.

    Verdict: My honeymoon ended and I've been so frustrated with how shallow and lazy this game is,that I actually made an account on metacritic just so share how **** bad this game is. The original dev team that made COD great actually moved onto Respawn Entertainment so whatever talentless hacks that slave away under the chains of activision make this deserve sweet release.
    COD is now like FIFA, copy pasted corporate trash that a bunch of normies and casuals will buy up for 90+$. Its really sad. They started to pander this game to make it "easier" for casual and new players but it ultimatly destroyed the COD we all know and love( R.I.P. ).

    Never trust Activision and EA to do anything right.
    Save your money and go buy insurgency or Squad where you'll have real fun and your money won't be going into some corporate conmans 401k, but instead will be helping indie devs follow their passion building games with ACTUAL soul.

    Riddled with DLC errors meaning you’re unable to play multiplayer. Activision have decided to ignore solving the issue and have gone silent meaning buying CoD feels like a complete scam.

    The matchmaking sucks. The game forces you to join games that are halfway done. This game is for campers cause they get rewarded for having no skill. The gun damage in this game is so unbalanced. Also this game allows shotguns to hit cross map shots. Worst cod i ever played. I want all my money back

    I played MW/MW2/MW3 back then and those were one of THE BEST GAMES OF MY TEENAGE YEARS. But this is **** You are literally running around with noisy clown shoes and screaming at the enemy, whenever you encounter one. Who thought this was a good idea?
    At least they patched it after 2 months of crap gameplay.

Headglitches, safe spaces, doors, corners and recharging claymores are only some of the annoying mechanics in this game. On a certain skill lvl, every round plays exactly the same. Nobody moving, everybody camping. Especially in free for fall, most of the games end with the timelemit, the final score at the end being 10-15 out of 30 needed kills for victory (after 10mins)..
    No real perk or weapon variety, overloaded and badly designed maps that only benefit a slow and defensive play style as well as hackers occurring every 3-4 rounds in certain game modes only 6 months after release.
    In total even though the devs and publishers wanted to attract battlefield or rainbow six players, this game designed by the new IW mostly feels like an even worse Update of Cod Ghosts with Captain Price of Modern warfare of the original IW on the cover.
    Overall a total disappointment, only positives imo are graphics and sound (when it's not bugging)    … Expand

    Worst cod till now for me.Really bad balance not a single moment of fun online. Spawns are ridiculous. Too expensive for what it is especially when warzone is free. Campaign is completely bugged.

It’s well over 200GB now? It’s frustrating because I wish I could play it, but the fact I would either need to buy more memory or just play nothing else is unacceptable to me.     The campaign is good but the multiplayer is appauling, The developers would rather put more purchasable stuff into the game to make a quick buck than rather make the core elements of online better. you're better off waiting for the new cod game than buy this joke of a game.

Genuinely not that bad a game but the camo challenges for multiplayer are ridiculously stupid, like why should you have the level an AR Upto lv69 just to unlock every camo challenger, have to get 800 kills, 100 longshots, 100 mounted kills, 50 kills shortly after reload, 150 headshots, 35 x 3 killstreak, 75 hip fire kills and that’s not even the lot, like the longshots and mounted take the absolute p**s.     The campaign in this game is fantastic I love the characters and the story that is game provides there are some missions that annoy me but that's about it

    The multiplayer on the other hand is a disappointment...     When in reality what it really does it encourages players to camp which is not a good thing because of this using "Safe spaces" it causes a lot a frustrating and irritating situations..

    * like Players hiding in a corners and certain areas of the map
    * sticking a Claymore or a Bouncing Betty behind a door

    The gameplay mechanics don't exactly help..

    * Dead Silence is no longer a perk which means you can't sneak around the map as effectively considering that it's now a "field upgrade" on a time limit

    *there is No Perk,Killstreak or field upgrade which gives you extra health considering this game gives you a field upgrade for "extra damage"

    But I do like the "gun smith" feature having the ability to change weapon attachments around to create a variety of setups for your weapon is kind of addicting once you unlock the parts for it

    I just wish everything else was fixed up

    And now ever since "Warzone" has dropped I wouldn't recommend buying this game considering "Warzone" is free

    But if you really want a game where you can camp sit in a corner for enemies to come to you I would wait for a discount around say $30 at best

    Unless the developers do something to make multiplayer great again and I'm not talking about new maps,weapons and modes

    If they can make warzone as amazing then they can definitely do something to improve the multiplayer

    But for now I would avoid this game    … Expand

    First of all, the total amount coming in at around $100 for a game are you serious, then you have to download 160 something gigabytes of data THEN have to install another 60 gigabytes to even play, where did that 160 gigabytes go that took 10 hours?, ridiculous on size and price

    Game is made for console as they get all the advantages from assist aim to stun flashbangs doing more harm to pc players like being stunned or flashed longer and the affects on pc players are much more stronger than when a console player is hit with them, i also think that console players do more damage with weapon's that pc players this game leans way to much to consoles making it an unfair game

    LOL, 203GB used to exchange a game that is lack of getting a game runs smooth.(intel i5-8300H and GTX1060 6G) The matching system is bad, I always match up to someone who is much more better than me(Yes Im a newbie). The campaign is good but it wont cover up how they failed in multiplayer.

The default is multiplayer and you really search beforehand about "how can I find single-player mode"? after you find it then it navigates you to a new menu that is very hard to find the "resume story" option    The game is so terrible that you can almost call it a scam.

When Infinite Warfare came out in 2016, I was happy that I did not buy it, as it was another passing project. And now three years later, this game comes out which is so praised paid-criticism.     Save your money and watch it on YouTube...

    Game requires to be logged in to Activision account even if you want to play Single Player, it wont let you even into the main menu unless you log in.
    This is unacceptable.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Had it not been for "grey morality" and "realism" marketing gimmicks, if IW said they make a classic COD plot full of cheesy BS set in a B-movie reality... That didn't happen and now many are spitting from what they got versus the promise.
    It's a COD 4 prequel with a classic crazy BS campaign: there's Kastovia (Donetsk Republic), Urzikstan (generalized Mideastern state retconned to be unnamed country of COD 4), Georgia, Russia and they’re all connected. A baddie Russian general Barkov that has lead a 20 year long Russian occupation of Urzikstan makes his own chemical weapon gas (!) in Georgia (!) and smuggles it to Kastovia, then to Urzikstan to use on civvies. CIA/MARSOC operators raid a Kastovian facility to confirm it but gas gets stolen presumably by baddie Urzikstan terror org Al-Qatala (COD way of spelling Al-Qaeda) but actually turns out to be a baddie splinter group of Urzikstan Liberation Force goodie rebels. Let’s fast forward to Urzikstan where a CIA operative wearing a plate carrier vest disguises himself with a black headscarf (!), openly walks around baddie Russian soldiers who search for rebels (!) and gets away with it (!).
    Enough with synopsis, you get how moronic the plot is from realism POV – same as old CODs, hence B-movie reality, not really your Zero Dark Thirty. It has always been this way to drop the jaw of generic Billy from Oregon and present a clear political message: wars are gritty but necessary and cool, there are baddies and goodies (sometimes goodies are not so goody but then baddies are even worse), NATO troops are generally world’s top goodies and they are almighty because they can pull off almost public black ops like a cakewalk in say Russia (MW shows firefight in Saint Petersburg’s major street because that’s how CIA/SAS operate), BTW you should enlist ASAP if you can.
    There are indeed some hints of "grey morality": that baddie splinter group of ULF goodies that stole the gas to use against its enemies – the baddie Russians/Al-Qatala. Or when NATO operatives do some minor morally questionable things like torturing an enemy for intel, pointing guns at his family to untie his tongue & etc. This kind of "grey morality" isn’t anything new to the series, I remember intel torture back in MW2 as well as other examples. Who is mostly exempt from "grey morality" are the Russians: they exploit, torture, burn, gas, hang and murder Urzikstani civvies for 20 years and we get aplenty exposition to witness it. "Mostly" because there are a few minor characters that are Russian but are goodies, the remaining vast majority are your literal SS Nazis. Plus it's implied several times that the baddie general Barkov is an acting member of the Russian military, though they "disown" him after his death, it’s clear they never did anything to stop him and this "disowning" business (to proclaim him a rogue general?) is obviously a PR damage control move from Moscow. Newsflash: Moscow is a baddie baddie, as most members of the "Nazi" Russian military.
    You don’t even get a trope about some soldiers not sharing the sketchy ideology of their command and showing signs of humanity – like "Nazi" pilot Franz Stigler who spared a wounded B-17 and escorted it to safety, or Cpt. Silas Soule and Lt. Joseph Cramer from First Colorado Cavalry who told their units to hold fire when ordered to shoot Indians during Indian Wars. That would have been *REAL* grey morality, as well as showing that NATO goodies do occasionally commit major cruel atrocities or use a falsely engineered casus belli to start a war. It’s kind of twisted to pretend that things like Haditha massacre or Abu-Ghraib torture didn’t happen by the hands of US in a country invaded after 9/11 without UNSC bill based on a fake chemical weapons sample tube "obtained there". Chemical weapons that were never found, but that ill-founded invasion with all its atrocities helped to spawn ISIS and consolidate many Muslims against everything "western". That generic Billy from Oregon may not know/remember/care for these facts, but I and many others genuinely upset by MW’s deceitful artistic representation of reality do – and the fact that IW markets it as something opposite contributes to the offense.
    If you have played MW, you know my attribution of "goodie" and "baddie" to MW factions is spot on – but in case with *REAL* grey morality that can’t happen per definition. The Expanse is a perfect example of proper grey morality: try to distinguish goodie and baddie factions there. Or Spec Ops: The Line which handles the premise of moral ambiguity like a boss: a feat that means even more if you compare its budget to MW's.
    And fake gun names, seriously? Bobby Kotick didn't spare few $K to license proper names as in the original trilogy? You get a lot of strong womyn though: CIA chief, army general, rebel leader. I’m surprised Cpt. Price isn’t Cpt. Rebecca Price wearing an LGBT patch because she/they/xe is openly lesbian.    … Expand

    This game educates western kids that US atrocities and war crimes in middle east were actually done by Russia. It is not even funny it should be taken very seriously. This is how young people brainwashed just in case to prepare for a full scale conflict. It happened previously before Ww2 and should not happen again.

    Infinity Ward should consider developing a new game about World War II where Stalin attacks Europe and all European countries unite under Hitler's glorious leadership to protect them from the "Red Plague". Looking at this game i'm sure they will achieve absolute success in such endeavor...

    Weak plot. A lot of things are not true. The game presents that Russian troops bombed the "death highway", along which civilians retreated from the city. In reality, the coalition forces were behind this crime.

The funny part is that many of the events in the game are based on true stories and were actually committed by the American or British troops during the Iraq war. That is why I love so much about the titan-fall 2. I literally cried when I saw BT sacrificed himself. But for Cod, I just felt funny. Bad game, Activation should pay players to play this garbage.

    COD has a 1.5 hour gameplay campaign off the cutscenes (where you can't interact with anything), a $ 80 per hour! on the same calculation how much would the whitcher 3 or the last of us be worth? It was developed in two years and has the same value as Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redenption 2 that took years of work. COD is not worth the price!

    The game has many flaws and a few bright spots.
    Positive:
    Spec ops missions feature my city,Donetsk,it has Football stadium,i can see my aunt's house,Ukranian beer and so on.
    Graphics are good,as they should be in 2019.
    Shooting and animations are top level.Sound is good also.
    Negative:
    Spec ops are hard af,last mission in Donetsk airport(yes it is an actual copy of it,i have been using that airport so i know what i am talking about)enemies are everywhere,a few times i got shot through the concrete wall,no kidding. Juggernauts are immortals,300 bullets from PKM will probably put one of them to rest.Other missions are hard but that as much as the last one. Good idea,good location,but poor difficulty,almost impossible to complete(props for russians curses).
    Campaign is simple as a baby hot milk. Nothing special,typical Russians are bad.
    Huge mistake by making Highway of Death Russians fault now(rewriting a history huh ?BF V is that you ?)
    Characters are ok. Lack of motivation and reasons in a single player.
    Multiplayer is a big popo. Maps are very weird, Bridge map is the most stupid decision you could have done...after creating singleplayer in this game,of course. Most map design is either wide open or CQ,no in between(maybe i am too stupid to see it ?)
    Guns are broken,m4 still dominates everything and everyone,kills through the whole map against a sniper with laser precision.
    Best way to win, Fast ADS on m4, ggwp
    Sound is broken,you can hear enemy through the whole map.
    Camping at its finest. do not run,use ads always,sit in one place because enemies will come to you ?this is cod,i know lots of people camp but this is completely new level.
    ALL in all it is bad,actually.
    Bad approach in every way. I have listed some prons and cons right off the bat.
    People if you want to know and see what the actual war is,for instance take Donbass war.
    I suggest looking up a movie on youtube called Airport Donetsk,it has around half a mil views and English subs(channel's name is Настоящее время or in English "Real Time"). It makes worth watching and after that you will see that campaign of Modern Warfare is a joke... I will give score 1 only because of the my city in the game. sorry    … Expand

They get streamers to go and change their settings to go into lobbies full of noobs and make content and it makes the game look good but every single person on my friends lists kill to death ration is 50% kills 50% deaths and I have at least 20 people. We’re just giving people money that are lying to us and miss selling games to people under the pretence that they’re skill based shooter competitions but the fact is whatever category Activision has placed gamers in they won’t get out of it. The more you play this game the worse you get at it. Auto aiming away from your target even although I’m literally aiming perfectly on the target to begin with. I don't really understand why maps have to be so complicated and why they add so many sneaky spots you get killed out of and just ask yourself "wth that's a f-ing spot?!".
    And then there is the whole micro-transaction p2w debacle that's going to hit us in a few weeks. However im not going to give them leeway just because they come with sneaky tactics like releasing the whole p2w roulette boxes after reviews are out, lying to players that they wont come, till millions got a copy and then releasing it because they already bought the game so can't really dmg them anymore. Yeah no, 1 Star, because multiplayer is "still" enjoyable.

And I've expected this kind of evil russians. Nope. This game actually impressed even me. In negative way. This game, objectively, depicting all russians, overall, as... I don't even know how to call it... Monsters from Doom? Pff, they're just crying babies in comparison! Vlad Tepes? That's closer, but he'll be like an amateur. Seriously, entire mission just to show how unspeakable evil russian common soldiers are, how they wiping everything alive, not only men, but children, dogs and even chickens? Why not each and every bacteria? Why not burn all oxygen around? Rip the Earth's crust and send it into the Sun? It'd be... somewhat understandable if game developers used "good old" russian terrorists, as usual, but there's clear message that those are regular army. And I feel soooooo much **** and Goebbels' propaganda in it, that it actually makes me sick even considering that I usually don't care much about all that evil russians **** Seriosly, I'm just sitting here with face like O_o and feeling like I've seen concentrated official russian TV media (which is sickeningly deceitful and "double standard"-ed). Why else would they make fictional middle east country, but actual Russia? Why won't they call it, I dunno, Rasland? Rusha?
    And for that reason alone I can't get this game a high score. It's full of nonsense and very dirty propaganda.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Даже не собираюсь затрагивать сюжетную кампанию и то, почему она так ужасна. Поговорим про мультиплеер.
    1. Баланс. Он просто отвратителен, в эту игру невозможно играть в связи с таким ужасным балансом. Будучи игроком с 65 уровнем, я всегда попадаюсь в игру, где мне приходится играть против 120-155 уровней. Играть просто невозможно.
    2. Карты. Карты сделаны ужасно, они неудобные, непонятные, да и "нычек" для кемперов настолько много, что все карты буквально ими кишат, невозможно нормально играть, ибо повсюду кемперы.
    3. Оружие. К оружию в общем и целом нет претензий, но есть некоторые просто конченые обвесы/чертежи/оружия, из за которых всю игру может заруинить один урод. К примеру, есть некоторые особи, которые используют нож и на второй слот ставят полицейский щит, в итоге сзади его невозможно подстрелить, а с переди ты просто по нему не попадешь потому, что при подкате он развивает такую высокую скорость, что ты его и заметить вряд ли сможешь.    … Expand

    Just imagine if instead of russian would be Chinese military forces and you should have rescued muslims from camp in Tibet, but of course Activision hasnt balls and can count their money. I hate propaganda and doesnt from where it is coming.

    Разработчик говорил, что в игре не будет плохих и хороших, но оказалось все наоборот, все русские плохие, все американцы хорошие. Настроения этой игры очевидны - русофобские.

    Everything is upside down. Call of Duty has a better solo campaign than multiplayer after many years. We will remember a perfectly scripted war with a dense atmosphere, but we’ll forget about the unbalanced online multiplayer. [Issue#298]

    After a multiplayer-centric episode, the COD fans will be delight with the return of a nervous and strong solo campaign. Modern Warfare is back with old-fashioned gameplay that is more grounded and efficient. The generous amount of content adds some depth to one of the best chapters of the saga to date. Magic!

    Overall Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a good title that is marred by the expectations that the Modern Warfare name brings with it. The campaign has some really stellar gameplay moments that are brought down by the mediocre plot. Multiplayer was fun but felt a bit like the competition’s output (despite there being no Battlefield release this year) which may be a turn off for some. I don’t think Modern Warfare 2019 has done anything to make me rethink waiting for substantial price drops to play Call of Duty campaigns, because clearly multiplayer is still Activision’s main focus and that’s just not where I get my kicks.
