COD AW bring back the feels of COD, not like the COD Ghost. With Improved graphics and physics. Besides, the CG graphics are stunning. Totally a Next-Gen game. But, i'm little bit disappointed in the last mission, too simple to kill the last boss. Not an epic ends for COD. Not enough of QTE.

As with every other year I've decided to get COD (this year the game was gifted to me, personally I would not have bought it with my own money) I spent about a month enjoying Online Multiplayer with my buddies. It got old pretty quick and is on the shelf now in favor of more recent and better games. This of course attributes to my score - games like COD just fizzle out so quickly, and once the luster of the base maps wear out, the game quickly follows. I would not even entertain the thought of wasting my time on single player in this game.

    Pros:
-Maps are decent they have some variety and require some thought about loadouts for each
-I liked how you received custom weapons for each class with varied attributes, more of this in COD games would be beneficial.
-While overall I didn't care for the "exo skeleton" idea, I liked certain aspects such as the quick dodging / strafe, and how you launch grenades now from a launcher on your arm instead of tossing them

    Cons:
-Even though I hate using and people that use claymores and C4, I'm bewildered why these items are left out of this game. It seemed to go all in favor of the exo abilities 90% of which are useless. Doesn't make sense to have a war shooter without the full arsenal of basic warfare weapons
-Exo abilities seemed utterly useless - only found value in the fast speed one really. Exo cloak is very easy to see, stim pack one doesn't last long and you still get shot and die, etc.. They are just useless and bring nothing extra or fun to the table
-Jet packs in this game are stupid - development is clearly trying to mimic other popular games with high jumping like Destiny. I was in favor of the quick strafing, but the jet packs were gimmicky and simply made play more sloppy and encouraged roof top camping.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare receives a technical 5.5 from me, bumped down to the 5 because I personally found it unmemorable and didn't find the love that would make me want to round up. You either rent or borrow this one for a few weeks of fun online, but I wouldn't recommend buying it.

It's fun, and there's a reason that it's one of the biggest franchises. More people buy it than whatever you haters play. I'm not even sure what you like! Either way, very interesting campaign, great multiplayer with lots of customization. I especially love the customization to the score streaks, the extra exoskeleton stuff, the guns and maps could do better though. I've only played the 3 most recent games of the franchise, Black Ops II, Ghosts and Advanced Warfare, and I have to say that the guns in Black Ops II were better. The campaign of Black Ops II also had MUCH more to it with the separate endings. Either way, still a 10. Expand

It is a typical CoD game. The exo suits add a fun aspect, but the multiplayer has no lasting appeal to it. I spent 2 weeks on MP and i'm completely sick of it. The campaign is fun and definitely worth a play through. The Exo Survival in nothing like zombies, and it's extremely boring. Nothing keeps you hooked on the game, and within a week you'll be regretting your purchase.

Before in older versions of the game you could feel that you were running around the same layout just with different skin. It got boring very quickly and also it gave ppl using sniper rifles an unfair advantage. Most times you didn't stand a chance against a very skillful player. With COD AW now the playing field is leveled out and the average joe has a chance to shine. Exo movement makes the game fun, different and unpredictable. Snipers don't have the same advantage they once had so there's no more sitting on the spawn and getting kill after kill, now you actually have to earn your score streak. COD ghosts was trash I couldn't play it not for one second online but soon as I played this game it made me feel like I was playing a COD from old, which brought a smile to my face. Change is good! They definitely did a good job changing things up while still maintains the core of call of duty. When I first heard they were adding all this "advanced warfare" stuff all I thought of was halo and was worried I would never play a COD again, but they proved they me wrong! Good job Expand

This is the worst COD game in the franchise. It doesn't feel like COD at all. It may have been a better game under a different title, because it feels more like Halo or Unreal Tournament. On the PS3 it's laggy as hell, buggy too. I played it for 2 hours, and it will now sit on the shelf while I play Black Ops 2.

I honestly think this game had potential. The exo movements are a cool new twist that add a new dimension. But the spawning system is so bad. But the spawning system is so bad. I can't tell you how many times I've had a player literally spawn five feet behind me. But even worse is the lag, hit detection or whatever it is. I get into gun fights every game where my bullets just don't register. Or I get two hits on someone and keep shooting and get turned on and die, in what felt like one shot. There is something wrong when the stats read this way....my previous k/d in other games:

    MW2 1.29 ( first fps game)
    BO1 2.26
    MW3 1.92
    BO2 2.61
    Ghosts 2.26
    AW 1.47

I know exo suits add a new skill dimension...but I am pretty good at exo dodging and moving out of someone's way to get around them and shoot or punch them and avoid a death. I've not had a k/d this low sine the first fps game i ever played. Something about that just doesn't seem right. And this holds true with most of my friends. My advice....if you're a good player in previous games (1.50 kd and above) then skip this game. It won't reward your efforts. If you're a new or struggling player in previous call of duty games (under a 1.50 kd)...then you will love this game. This game tries to level the playing field and allow bad players to get random kills they otherwise would never have gotten by spawning them behind an enemy player or awarding them a win in a gunfight they really lost. It's the ultimate level playing field.

Calls of Duty games have been stale for a while with no major changes in the yearly franchise. The multiplayer was always the true strength in the series while the main campaigns were always forgettable and I was excited to see if Call of Duty Advanced Warfare could step it up and make the series interesting again.

The story is set in 2054; a world filled with drones, large machines and advanced weapons. The story talks about protagonist Jack Mitchel, a marine who is faced with a tragic event at one of his missions which leads to his discharge because of his injuries. During a funeral, we are introduced to Jonathan Irons, played by Kevin Spacey, a finder and COO of a private military corporation called ATLAS.

The first thing you will notice is the addition of various high tech futuristic gadgets that are interesting because they change the flow of the game. One of them is the new exoskeleton suit that allows players to boost jump, dash in multiple directions while on the ground and air and invisibility which is used for stealth missions. The exoskeleton also gives you the ability to wall climb and you will have a grappling hook, a gadget which allows you to reach high places.

Sadly, many interesting features are only limited to certain events during the campaign with gadgets such as the grappling hook are not even available in the multiplayer which is a big shame. The combat still feels very similar which isn’t a bad thing with the gunplay feeling slick and realistic making killing off enemies more rewarding. Some cool grenades worth noting are a tactical grenade which temporally stun and shows enemies through walls after exploding. And the smart grenade which is fun to use because once thrown it will fly into the air and towards an enemy.

The main campaign is around 7 hours and you will be taken to several world locations each with its unique set pieces. From over the top action to some good stealth mission’s you’ll do all sorts of things from riding many vehicle, blowing things up with a talk to jet flying. The action a usual is very fun and even though the story is better than previous instalments, it is still an overall weak story.

The only element that saves it from sinking is the addition of Kevin Spacey who makes Jonathan Iron a powerful and ambitious man into an interesting and entertaining character who steals the show at every scene. The fantastic voice work by spacey makes Iron stands out and believable. This alone makes you want to continue through the story to see the conclusion.

The true star in COD is the multiplayer, with more than 10 game modes from domination to survival co-op and 13 different maps. The multiplayer has a couple of new modes and one of them that I found interesting is uplink, a fun mode that mixes a bit of capture the flag and basketball with guns. The addition of the exoskeleton in the multiplayer as usual adds more variety in the gameplay because you can customize it depending on your strategy and mastering it will surely earn you a lot of kills.

The introduction of the supply drops is a brand new reward system that earns
you items such as character gear for more customization and reinforcements that gives you boosts and perks which allow you to gain the upper hand during battle.

Many people might have decided to take a break from the call of duty franchise as the last couple couple of games weren’t very good but Call of Duty Advanced Warfare is still an overall fun game that is better than previous titles and a step forward in the series

The MP is fluid and the survival mode, while bland, is fun for a short time. Which is fine for me, as I don't play COD for longer than an hour or two anyways. It's worth picking up, and offers a fun time. Plus if you're worried about the changes, it even has a classic playlist! So you can play COD how you like it. The supply drops at the end of games adds a bit more of an incentive to play as well.

It's still COD at the core, not the greatest game. Though it's been beaten with a stick. AW is very welcomed, and I even applaud it for doing something new. I would have rather have zombie mode than survival, and hate the fact it'll be DLC. The new guns are quite fun to fool around with, even a couple of new perks. The biggest downside to me is simply not enough maps. At rank 13, I shouldn't of seen every map twice. The game is a 6, if you're a COD fan who buys the season pass, you'll love the game. Sadly I am not.

The boosting/double jump ruins the COD formula, you cant have a game strategy when you constantly get shot in the back from every angle. Awful killstreaks that are more confusing than anything. Mediocre maps. Co-op mode has no longevity, Zombie mode is DLC. I sold this game after and week and went back to Ghosts and BlackOps2. Very Disappointing. Graphics-wise, it's pretty much what we've come to expect from a Call of Duty game; it's quite good, but nothing spectacular. The single player campaign is very predictable, and the term "on-rails experience" certainly applies to this game, just as much as any previous installment in the franchise. With that being said, the campaign is still a fairly enjoyable experience, as long as you don't mind staying within the mission perimeter/following the squad leader at all times. Personally, I found it to be quite frustrating that the mission would end and automatically restart every time I moved slightly outside the mission area.

The multiplayer experience felt quite refreshing, to me, but it certainly doesn't appeal to everyone. Advanced Warfare is based around the use of the boost mechanism and "exo-abilities", and it takes a little while to get used to. How well you'll perform online, is directly affected by how well you've mastered the use of these new features, and that's something that's likely to put a lot of people off this game. This new way of moving about the online maps, has allowed the developer to add more layers to the maps. You can now easily get on top of balconies and obstacles in a flash, and moving from point A to point B is easier and faster than ever. The downside to this is that, since the maps now have more layers added to them, and since they now have a diagonal, rather than the popular, linear design, you'll often find yourself in situations where you'll get crowded and fired at from several angles, at the same time. Some people won't mind this, but it certainly makes playing online feel more chaotic and unpredictable, compared to previous Call of Duty games.

All in all, Advanced Warfare is a pretty good FPS game that does a few things that haven't been done in this particular franchise before, but the new features will most definitely alienate some veteran players and fans of the retro-style Call of Duty games. Sledgehammer games have taken one step in a direction that's completely new to the Call of Duty franchise, and I suspect that whether people will enjoy Advanced Warfare or not, is a direct result of whether they think too much was added to the game, or maybe too little? Only time will tell if it was a good call by Sledghammer to "sit on the fence" with this game, rather than going in a completely new direction, or simply sticking to a successful formula.

MW-MW3 was phenomenal and I certainly give praise when it is worthy but the last four games to come out are catered not to your loyal gamers of the original titles, instead you insists to place MA ratings on your games but develop the games to appease the mind of a 10yr old. The lag is absolutely horrid and WHAT IS WITH EVERYONE HAVING PURPLE KNEE PADS WHEN YOUR KILLED! There are numerous multiplayer glitches that need to be fixed. What is unfortunate though is that even with those fixes, you can't take away that it just feels uber gimmicky and lackluster in the graphics department. There are times where I can't even respawn into a hardcore TDM battle that I have been absolutely owning. Sometimes the respond timer is there and sometimes it isn't. DAFUQ is that?! Long story short, Multiplayer is absolute crap. For a game with such a longstanding hold on the market and with such a playability factor, they ruined it. Why are most of the badass looking guns 3 round burst only? Who **** likes that **** No one. Where is my M4? ACR? or future versions of them? Also, why do all the guns sound the same? Its beyond awful. Back to COD Ghosts until next November. Infinity Ward knows their ****

Barely anything about the series' design has changed, including the fact that it's still a linear single-player experience with a bunch of set-pieces, pre-coded quicktime events, dumb-as-rocks, unnatural AI, and one hell of an uninteresting and silly storyline. As for the multiplayer, there is STILL no access to certain optimization options such as Field-Of-View, and the visuals on current-gen consoles(PS3, X360) are not as 'beautiful' as they are on next-gen consoles, and do not deviate much from that of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Not to nag at this franchise's feet, but this is just the kind of dickery I'd come to expect after such an abomination as Call of Duty: Ghosts. Expand

This game is DAMN FUN to play. Most of the people hating on this game are just your normal COD haters. The maps are quality, the movement works great, and has great new game modes.

Downsides: Unbalanced weapon selection and Disapointing score streaks, as well as some occasional(though rarely rage-inducing) lag.

Save your money if you want to buy this. Just go to Redbox and rent it and you will be done with it in a day and half (12 hours for the youngsters). You will recognize many backdrops from previous games, just new warriors here and there at the forefront. Nothing spectacular that got my blood pressure up like the old games. Roger that?

Another installment in the COD line. Definitely worth a play-though. But, it's not like earth-shattering gameplay here. This game does exactly what it supposed to do: give you guns, give you bullets, give you lots of guys to shoot. Perfect.

Personally, I've never enjoyed jetpacks, double jumping etc on FPS games, so the EXO suit completely spoils the game for me personally. This is not welcome in any COD imo. Even on classic game modes where the EXO jumping is taken out, the maps are cack as they are mainly designed for use with the EXO suit.
The guns are awful, the SMGs pretty much feel the same, the ARs feel the same. All that changes is the fire rate between them, they all handle the same, or so it felt when I was playing it. They all carry approx 3 bullets per life, you have to have scavenger as a 'perk' to go on even a 5 kill streak. If you suppress your weapon as I do, then you may get a 3 kill streak.
The kill streaks are poo anyway, so I was happy getting UAV after UAV.
AVOID if you prefer Infinity Ward's offerings as I do.

The same CoD formula still underlies the multiplayer aspect, mostly running and gunning with quick kills and deaths, however the killstreaks have been vastly toned down compared to previous installments.

The campaign does add new features into the gameplay, things like threat grenades, which allow you to see enemies through walls, or new gun add-ons which briefly display enemies infront of you when aiming down the sights. The jump pack gets used a decent amount, and allows for variation between the usual; enter room, gun down some goons, repeat. It's still generally very similar to previous installments however, around an 8 hour campaign, mass explosions, saving the world etc, don't expect anything that new or exciting. But, if you like the CoD series, this is a decent game.

But to be honest this is one of the first COD's in a long time to actually impress me, and make me feel my money was well spent. The last COD to do that for me was MW2.

So lets first talk Campaign (without spoilers). The story was ok, it could have been better. But it was very good looking and well performed. The actors did an amazing job, the cutscenes were mind blowing, and the missions were pretty good. Nothing Special but a good campaign.

Now lets talk Coop. Now the Coop for now is only Exo Survival. This mode is fun, but is alos a challenge. Most people did not want t play this mode until they heard of the zombie wave. But to get to the zombie wave, you have to play over 200 rounds of Exo Survival. The Mode isnt horrible and if you like it the rounds will go by fast. Were also supposed to get an actual Zombie Mode in DLC, and i know it sucks that you HAVE to ge the Season Pass to play Zombies but well its too bad. Hopefully Zombies will be just as good or better than Treyarchs Zombie Mode.

Now for the main part of the Review, Multiplayer. The Multiplayer is pretty damn good. After the update for the Lag Issues, the game has gotten much better. The spawns are not as bad as people think. Ranking up seems much faster than previous CODs, there isnt a HUGE amount of guns to pick from, but you should find your favorite very quickly. Its really what you should expect from a COD game. Other than the Exo Suit, the game isnt really innovative. But thats not a bad thing, they made it right, COD now requires a little more skill with having the Exo Suit in play. Your still going to have Campers, Drop Shotters, Quickscopers, and anything else you hate. So if you cant get pass the dicks in the community of COD, or you have a **** Internet connection dont buy this.

This isnt a reskin but it also didnt recreate the genre. If you enjoy COD its a must buy, if you hated all the previous Entry's its not for you. If your mainly a single-player guy its not for you, if you enjoyed Titanfall you MAY like this

Bravo, Sledgehammer. Bravo. I was pretty skeptical going into this, as Sledgehammer was its main developer, people who were heavily involved in that turd of a game MW3. However, once I got to playing this, I found myself thoroughly enjoying it.

Campaign - Although the campaign is still shorter than I would have liked, it was certainly better than Ghosts. But we don't talk about Ghosts.

Campaign - Although the campaign is still shorter than I would have liked, it was certainly better than Ghosts. But we don't talk about Ghosts. The characters, although it would be a bit of a stretch to say I legitimately cared about them by the end of the game, they were certainly good. Troy Baker kills it as Mitchell (but that isn't surprising), and Gideon (no clue who his voice actor is) is this game's Harper. And of course, Kevin Spacey plays the villain. I do not need to say any more. The premise, while good, is unoriginal. But it is executed rather well, so it didn't bother me too much.

Multiplayer - Take everything fun about CoD's multiplayer, and add in a metric f*ckton of jumping. It makes for a rather hectic, yet quite fun experience. Easily the best part of the game, but given that this is CoD, you probably already knew that. Also, instant fix for any possible screaming 8-year-olds you may find: There's this awesome new thing called a mute button! It's not that hard to use, either! How nice!

Conclusion - Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is a strong entry in the Call of Duty series. While it isn't necessarily groundbreaking, it does add in several new things to keep the formula from becoming stale. I can see myself playing this for quite some time, and won't be embarrassed to have it in my games library (although I can't say that for certain OTHER, more recent games in the series). The campaign is short but fun, and is a nice distraction from the vastly improved multiplayer. There is an Exo-Survival mode pretty much identical to MW3's survival mode, but it is fairly underwhelming compared to the rest of the game. Oh, and did I mention the graphics? They're pretty nice.

    Verdict - 8.3/10

Let's start off with some of the things SledgeHammer Games did right with Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, the graphics are brilliant in my opinion, definitely the best looking Call of Duty out there, the sounds are also pretty good, from the sounds of footsteps around you to the gun sounds, it's all good and surprisingly the campaign was enjoyable for what it is, a 6-8 hour long interactive action film, and I don't mean that in a bad way, the voice acting was pretty good mostly from the main protagonist and the main antagonist voiced by Troy Baker and Kevin Spacey, now on to Exo Surival, now for me this mode was a bit of a hit or miss, it can be fun if you're playing it with friends but playing it alone get's boring extremely quick which is why I actually would have preferred to have seen some Spec Ops missions like in Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 and now for the cherry on the top, the online portion of Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, let's start off with the awesome Exo Suits which are really cool and fun to mess around with, but it does get annoying when players just keep Exo boosting their way up onto nearly every rooftop in most maps and park themselves their and pretty much never move, another gripe I have with the Exo Suits is that i'ts almost as if SledgeHammer Games praises campers, if you don't have a certain perk on and you use your Exo Suit so if you Exo Dodge or Exo Boost you will appear on the radar as a water drop type blimp for about a second, but if someone sits in a corner for how ever long they feel well then nothing happens, it's a bit confusing for me personally but maybe someone else can see the meaning behind that, the map designs are pretty good with some odd bad camp fest of maps, just 3 bad ones in my opinion and the rest are pretty enjoyable, the weapons are fairly good, with some overpowered weapons but there really are only 2 overpowered weapons the rest seem pretty balanced, killstreaks are bit of a hit and miss with some being down right useless and some seeming kinda overpowered, perks are alright but nothing game changing and the Exo Abilities there are some fun ones like Exo Stim, Exo Shield and Exo Overclock with the rest being "OK", so my ratings for Call of Duty Advanced Warfare split up into the three modes would be :

    Campaign- 9/10

    Exo Survival-6/10

    Online-7/10

My final score for Call of Duty Advanced Warfare is a 8/10

The exo-survival is the weakest point of the title. It is essentially a horde mode in which you fight against enemies with exo-suits.It is a good time with friends but repetition spoils the fun at the end.It is here to provide an extra level of strategy and present a new challenge to fans of horde mode.

The multiplayer is a breath of fresh air for the franchise since it uses new gameplay mechanics that make the game more fast paced and fun to play. However, there are several issues that will hopefully be sorted out through patch support.Gun variety is absent at this point as only 2-3 weapons seem to be really effective.Exo abilities are not very useful and scorestreaks lack lethality. The game had a rough launch with a lot of lag but I can safely say that the PS4 online experience is the smoothest after the 2 connection patches that came out. I also played the game on Xbox One but I decided to review it on the ps4 section since multiplayer is working properly on this version of the game.As more consoles are sold in all regions connection will be evened out but I'd give the edge to the ps4 just from personal experience.(this is the first time I am satisfied from a CoD game connection wise on psn because all previous CoDs seemed to have worse ports on ps3/ps4).Lag or no lag,the game is fun to play and difficult to master.

I'll start off by saying Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is leagues ahead of the abomination that was Call of Duty: Ghosts and I think that doesn't surprise anyone. While the story is the typical CoD story of giant set pieces and relative predictability, during my time with the campaign I found myself just relaxing and enjoying shooting people in the head which is more than I can say for the last two Call of Duty games.
Online multiplayer is more or less of what i've come to expect from the franchise; Nine year olds screaming into their mics whenever I kill them the same way twice, the inevitable quick scopers(which should have been fixed by this point in the series) the constant lag problems i face with those who have a poor connection and the occasional nice guy who is a pleasure to play with.

Overall this game gets an 8/10 because while its more of the same in terms of Multiplayer the set pieces in the campaign and the EXO suits make playing this year's CoD just that much more entertaining and therefore deserving of some more play time this holiday season.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Call of Duty: Advanced warfare is a new and fresh idea of the already established game play, the graphics look great, the sound stunning, and the setting is just amazing, but it got allot of negative sides as well.

Lets start with the single player, its amazing, but the story is to predictive, it had no emotional feel like the other call of duty (for example blackops 1 and 2) had, it felt like it lacks the passion of a good story, that the writer was a bit lazy, it lacked the feels, emotion, and best of all, a good story line.
You basically got hurt in the fight, get discharged, then someone give you another chance, just to see your arm being beaten up with a tire iron by the same person who gave you a second chance, you fight for survival, and that person dies in the end. When you yawn in any game with a campaign with story telling, its not a story you want to see again.

    Now about multiplayer:

I really was surprised in how well designed the maps were, it was made with great concept of detail, and it felt alive, the exo suit (rather want to call it a "jet pack" in multiplayer) is a great new concept that still need allot of fine tuning to make it being balanced correctly.

The promise of that they will remove the ability to quickscope, was ones again not seen in the final product, the only call of duty made by another company really tried removing that aspect was blackops 1.

At this point, you can call the promises many developers make these days lies, because they are being silently ignored, or not respectfully taken by heart in the final release of the game.

Note to DEV: ONLY make promises you can keep, and want to keep, els it will bite in your ass later in form of a lawsuit.

Now... about the net-code (in normal terms lag).... *put on the serious helmet, and click the belt along the cheek.* ITS PLAIN HORRIBLE, yes, you hear me correctly, its so horrible, the mini map is not in sync with the game, and actually is working in a delayed fashion like a grandpa that tries to keep up with the rest of the packets. I wanted to call CoD ghost bad on this one, but i will nominate this game instead of the golden poo.

In short, the campaign was cliche, short, to predictable, and to emotionless and lazy from the writer.
The mutliplayer aspect of the game is horrible at this state, horrible lag, others seem to see you earlier then you see them, the minimap that displays teammates firing, is delayed by a couple of seconds, and still they think we are retards who belief them when they say they got dedicated servers for match making (like that is anything different from mw2, mw3, or even blackops)

    3 out of 10
(4 out of 10 for the campaign, just to make the writer's lazy butt happy)

Same old same old! The usual Activision hype sucked me in and I bought the game (thankfully for only $14, thanks to a voucher). It follows the current cod trend which is dumb the game down for the masses. Graphics should be better on the now current gen console, gameplay is crap in that there's no strategy to the maps, just bounce around and shoot.

Apart from a little dull single player story line and confusing vehicle controls; this game does it all. From new gen loadouts to futuristic environments, from better graphics to perfect casting; everything is good. It's worth playing.

Plot-wise, America saves the world (again) and that's pretty much it and for me this is the worst offence, it's total propaganda crud. I'm not going to go into the plot details but you may find the villains to be a lot more rational than the good guys. Whilst this is an entirely valid comment, I'm not sure what people expect from a well established franchise that sells millions of copies every year. If the formula is kept the same - people complain about repetition. If the game is changed too radically - people complain that the game is no longer the series they know and 'love'.

This is where CoD: AW get's the balance brilliantly. Without straying too far from the well trodden path of the CoD franchise, there isn't much wiggle room for a new developer to innovate. However, Sledgehammer have found the gap and exploited it beautifully with the new movement mechanics of the exo suit.

Make no mistake, the new changes in movement style results in a much harder FPS experience for the standard, casual gamer. The pace of the game is fast, and mastering the dashes and boots to effectively traverse maps and areas is difficult to become accustomed to. But with some persistence, the game becomes very rewarding, but most importantly FUN.

I find the word 'fun' to be the key one here. For me CoD has not been at all enjoyable since Black Ops, with Ghosts being the lowest troughs the series has seen. AW on the other hand, drags the series out of the muddy valley and at least onto the hillside of a peak, if not quite the apex.

Note this game is far from perfect. Still Activision have decided not to provide dedicated servers for the franchise (which I find completely astounding), and so issues with lag, connectivity and the much-hate 'bendy-bullets' persist. Sadly, this seems to have become somewhat of a trademark to the CoD series.

There are some odd implementations from the developer (which are being patched) such as equipment that can only be used for a limited time, and incredibly hard to attain camos (now patched), but overall, many of the new implementations work.

You may have noticed that I have been almost exclusively dedicating my writing towards multiplayer here, however, I have completed the campaign and there's not much to say here. It's the standard story line of most CoD (and modern FPS for that matter) games, with token missions and segments aplenty. One major point in the favour of the campaign is the cutscenes. The next gen power takes these to an entirely new level and they look incomprehensibly realistic.

The game as a whole (including in-engine) looks nice, but this is to be expected of a AAA title nowadays. The sound and music are solid and fairly immersive; especially when in an intense battle online or solo.

In spite of the glitches, mild gripes and standard online issues, CoD: AW is a well built FPS with a new edge for the series. Don't be fooled, this is not a revolution in gaming in any way shape or form. But it does what it says on the tin, it's Call of Duty, and all-in-all, CoD: AW is fun. For me this is the most important thing; after all, isn't that what games are meant for?

Let's look at those who stand to hate the new suit. I'll give you one guess -snipers. Snipers are a blight on the game that needed to be counterbalanced. Now cleverly, we have a way of defending against the unseen if not then making it more difficult for them. At least we can now make life as difficult for them as possible and we love it but they hate it because that's all they could do, sit and wait. They are probably hopeless at real combat so snipe.

The launch issues such as lag will be sorted out. But it is in essence COD and if you wanted something so different from COD that it's unrecognisable then I suggest you play Destiny which is AWESOME!! I don't believe even 1/10th of negative reviews are genuine because if you guys value your cash so much why did you jump in and buy and not wait and see some videos first?? So do we trust the reviews of those with proven bad judgement who jumped in and bought the game without checking it out first? People who are condemning something they themselves bought are in reality condemning their poor judgement because before you spend $60 or more $$$ on a game you should check it out thoroughly.

I'm giving the game a 9/10 because no game is perfect, the extra balancing against snipers (the game's blight) the improved graphics and new maps and single player. Unlike those who bought blindly then come crying crocodile tears here I checked it out and found it worthy of the COD Franchise. It crosses the cost boundaries with competing media, and is now roughly twice the price of 3 full priced first run films in the theater, which would occupy about the same amount of time. At the very least they should have marketed it with free access to future single player campaign DLC to make up for the extreme brevity of the single player campaign. Expand

I was not planing on buying this game until I saw the positive reviews and the fact Zombies will be coming back. Same old classic gameplay with a twist. After the most recent COD's, I was at a point where I was about to phase out of this series because the franchise was becoming the same game repackaged every year, but I commend Sledgehammer for giving life to this dying franchise. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The campaign was kinda boring, and didn't really do Kevin Spacey and justice, how do even manage to waste Kevin goddamn Spacey? For the Multiplayer, the maps are far too small to support the new movements, and these new abilities, albeit innovative (For CoD atleast) they're more fluent than Destiny's, but no were near Titanfalls level of fluency, you move like a hot knife through butter in Titanfall. The Exo Abilities are kinda worthless IMO, 5 seconds a life? Or 10 with Overcharged is nothing, especially seeming you need to stay alive for a long time to get Scorestreaks (Which I'm happy they brought back.) Now, on to the Scorestreaks, they're way to hard to get for the casuals, I know playing the OBJ is a lot more rewarding but in some game modes, the score per kill needs to be increase, and the streaks are even harder to get when you customise them. The scorestreaks themselves are worthless seeming you need all that score to get them, I understand that infantry based combat to exercise the new movement was what they were going for, but they simply arn't worth the effort. Most grenades are worthless with the new movement system, even with Danger Close, this itself, makes Flak jacket worthless, also getting perks like 'Low Profile, Cold-Blooded, and Blind Eye' almost instantly those worthless streaks are made even worse, and some perks such as, 'Peripherals' is practically useless against a lot of other perks/new perk ideas that could have been put in Peripherals place. Going back to the maps, they don't seem to be created with the Exo Suits in mind, as some roof tops are accessible and you can see into the enemy spawn, and some roofs seem accessible, but are not. As for the spawns, my God they're terrible you seem to kill 4 people and they just spawn next to you, it's like playing Spec Ops where waves of enemies just fling themselves at you. As for gun Bal(27)ance the Bal just seems to over power everything, and it's unlocked from the go, all other weapons apart from Assault Rifles seems useless and are underpowered, Shotguns wouldn't even be reasonably good if the Exo abilities weren't in the game. The connections in this game seem to be sh*t, 1-3 Bars all round, 'Dedicated Serves like Ghosts' or what they mean is a worthless hybrid server, and people are just teleporting everywhere in game. Meh, they tried to be innovative, and it kinda worked, but they failed on so many other levels that the game is just frustrating for me. Expand

Regarded as a series with no innovation, "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" does a great job at making the series feel new again. A person who is good with the game would have finished it in half the time. I understand that this franchise is geared mostly for customers who never play the campaign, however those who love the single player aspect of it get ripped off by a short campaign. Last year COD Ghost had a paltry story campaign and this year was a bit longer but I wanted more which I did not get. I will trade this game and as far as COD, I am done with the frachise. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. LAG... Its like black ops 2 all over again online. Remember how on BO2 you would empty a clip into the back of someone, only for them to turn around and down you in one bullet? You'd then watch the kill cam and find out that you never even actually fired? Yeah? Well that s**t is rife here. Possibly the most infuriating few hours I have spent with my PS4. I have a 100mb connection and should not be being punished for having so. The people with crap connections are reporting zero problems with the game. You fudged up your net code sledgehammer!!! When it does work, Its a really good game, but those "good games" a far too few and far between for me to keep playing this game in the long run. Expand

The campaign was awesome. Great voice acting, stellar performance from Kevin Spacey, and I love the sci-fi setting in this game, the power the exo suits grants reminds me of Halo. The motion-cap work for this game is awesome and may be the best I've ever seen in a game, the only other game that comes close from my knowledge is The Last of Us.

The missions are a ton of fun and the checkpoint system is very fair. I enjoyed the campaign so much that I can't wait to show it off to my brother. The crisp 1080p resolution makes the experience even better, this is in my opinion the best looking PS4 game to date.

I don't care much anymore for multiplayer first person shooters but I did try it out a bit and it looked great but I just don't have it in me anymore to put in the many hours I'd need to put in to get any decent at it. So I bought this game mostly for the campaign and I loved it a lot and it's currently my Game Of The Year pick, though that might change in a few weeks weeks when Dragon Age: Inquisition comes out.

I have to admit, I'm usually one to hate Call of Duty games, but this one has hit the nail on the head. The campaign is great, it feels like what Killzone Shadow Fall should of been. I skipped MW3 and Ghosts. I loved Black ops 2 a lot. This feels similar to black ops 2, and it is fresh enough to give me a reason to play it. I'm enjoying it so far into week one. Still feels like call of duty, but enough changes make it fresh.

COD needed a refresh, and AW brings it.....somewhat, the future setting is good, the exo suit is a refresh, the story is OK, but the online feels all the same, but the graphics and try at something different makes it a worthwhile purchase but I really found the online the same old. 8/10

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is a very surprising experience. It is a more enjoyable experience compared to Ghosts and Sledgehammer's/Infinity Wards's Modern Warfare 3. They brought back the Black Ops concept of picking items in a limited amount of slot, which provide for great class building and a very expansive choice suited to your preferences.

The multiplayer does suffer from some problems though. Mainly, there will be some points in a match where connectivity drops dramatically and you are left in a "rubber band" motion, where you are just skipping back and forth, but I assume this will be resolved very soon. Some of the weapons suffer from being very bland and boring, but this is the case in just about every Call of Duty in one way or another.

All together, the multiplayer is a great improvement compared to last years installment of the Call of Duty franchise. While some may judge it for being a Titanfall and COD lovechild, its a must-play for fans who love fast-paced action,
