Another magnificent showing from Rocksteady and WB Games with Batman Arkham Knight. Gameplay is similar to previous outings but that's a good thing. Batmobile takes a while to get used to but is a massive inclusion and the game is better for it. I love the challenges in the game from The Riddler and also the time trials and VR challenges too testing your skills against thugs.

    Epic Game.

    The Bad:
BATMOBILE, BATMOBILE, BATMOBILE. It is featured way too prominently, almost half of missions are done mainly in it. The tank battles kill the arkham mood, and the racing levels don't work as the car, although great, isn't the best handling wise. If they only cut down on the use of the bat mobile it'd be an awesome luxury, instead it's an annoying crutch.
LOAD TIMES. Terrible, especially if it's an area where you fail repeatedly.
Riddler trophies (Personal opinon), there are too many and are required for the secret ending and fighting The Riddler. I know it's an arkham tradition, but there are too many and it's really tedious collecting them.

Only now played this - even though I knew it was praised, it blew me away. The environment is so finished and the plot is delicious. Just about only things less than perfect are the sad 30 frames/sec slowness even on PS5 and the way, way too many Riddler puzzles.

Fast forward seven years and three games later and we have come full circle to Batman Arkham Knight, a villain set on destroying Batman while Scarecrow seeks the destruction of Gotham to watch Batman suffer.

Despite the PC version plagued by an assortment of bugs and game-play issues, the PS4 version surfers from very little of problems. Yes there are glitches and the textures are not as good for this generation, but the game is playable. As with Asylum Batman encountered the longest night of his life; in Arkham Knight Batman faces death on more than one occasion, watching things falling apart around him including saying bye to some long time allies as well as foes.

The main game is amazing with the free flow system better than ever. You can get your Batman on without the season pass which in my opinion is unnecessary if the Batgirl play-through was a complete letdown. In other words get the game but forgo the $40.00 for the season pass or wait for the game of the year to get the DLC.

This game is worth getting and a great ending to the series.

I loved the old Batman games and this one is so much more and factoring on the Richter scale as far as graphical improvement. No possible way this should score in any field below (6) no matter your feeling on the developer or the publisher or the color of the box it came in.

This is most certainly a next generation game and if you have the next gen Console you will be missing out if you don't at least try it. I was hesitant too, because of the bad reviews on places like Metacritic, but it was unjustified. they knocked it out of the park. (9/10)

Arguably the best Batman game to ever have been made, the game really comes down to whether or not you like the inclusion of the new Batmobile. For me, it was a good distraction at times and, at others, a minor annoyance, including a main story mission entirely dependent on the Batmobile. The car sequences wouldn't be so bad if they hadn't made it such an integral part of the game. The car sequences wouldn't be so bad if they hadn't made it such an integral part of the game. Too much emphasis is placed on the Batmobile throughout the entire game, IMO, and the game would have been alot better for me if I wasn't forced to use it so much for so many different things. What could have been a nice change of pace for the rest of the game feels to much like a necessity that is being forced down your throat and I don't like that one bit. That doesn't take away from the rest of the game and the improvement they made on pretty much everything else. The story was excellent, even if the Arkham Knight turned into a goober halfway through, and it feels like good closure to the storyline. They did leave it open for some kind of sequel in the future but who knows what that would even look like. I'm extremely interested in seeing where Rocksteady goes from here. I wonder if they will stick with this 3rd Person-Action formula they seem to have perfected or will they go another route. I feel like it'll be a good game regardless as they have proven themselves to be extremely good at what they do. Expand

The campaign is relatively long and the amount of content besides the main story is staggering. There's tons of sidequests, puzzles, races, etc to finish. The game is really fun too, addictingly fun. The music is awesome, story was good, controls are great, camera is great, combat is great, racing great, puzzles great. Only two things that really annoyed me in the game was the tank sections and the loading times. The loading times are kind of long after you die. Then we have all the other people who are rating the game a 10 when they'd otherwise give it an 8/9 just to combat all those people who rated it 0 for all the wrong reasons. This place is an absolute cluster and, while I give the game an enthusiastic 9/10 and have plenty to say about it, I sincerely suggest if you're reading this that you look elsewhere for game reviews. There are lots of cool new moves for Batman, like the slow motion takedowns, which you can chain into multiple ones.

The side missions are plenty. Though lots of them are rather redundant. You want to complete them just for the sake of completion, not because they really mean something. And having an open world with side missions like this is rather counter productive, as these side missions interrupt the narrative.

The presentation has been greatly improved. It's really like playing a movie. But there won't be any long cutscenes to put you into a passive position for too long.

The combat is as great as ever. But the gamepad is overladen with combinations, making it difficult for newcomers to get accustom to.

And there are lots of variety when it comes to stealth. You have plenty of ways to handle a situation.

Overall, I like this entry way better than its three predecessors.

Here you will see another side to Batman, his flaws his anger, the rage that drives him you can see familiarity's in his character physic when you compare him to the Dark Knight Returns animated series a man who is willing to sacrifice for his own self completion, his motives are straight forward and no one will stop his anger from prevailing over his foes, with Kevin Conroy back to voiceHere you will see another side to Batman, his flaws his anger, the rage that drives him you can see familiarity's in his character physic when you compare him to the Dark Knight Returns animated series a man who is willing to sacrifice for his own self completion, his motives are straight forward and no one will stop his anger from prevailing over his foes, with Kevin Conroy back to voice the Batman this brought the Batmans anger to another level of rage the rage we are supposed to see.

I can see that Developer Rocksteady have gained inspiration from Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy particular Batman Begins were as the previous games were more comic book based, Compared to the previous two games the threat is on a much bigger scale similar to the threat difference to say Batman Begins and the Dark Knight Rises.
The final game is more grounded and is set to appeal to the wider audience which is why the game has its flaws particularly the overuse of the Batmobile, disappointing boss fights and Drone Battles and repetitive voice commands such as (Rattler Down!)

But then again these minor flaws didnt deterrent from how awesome it was to have a Batmobile this monster is intimidating on top of that the driving mechanics were flawless so easy to drive throughout Gotham City, I admire Rocksteady's work of innovation gameplay rather than the same game again, As the Batman you are able to exit in and out the Batmobile flawlessly without distraction, then through remote control you are able to call on it whenever you need it and on top of that it comes with Battlemode with the touch of a button this mammoth turns into a force to be reckoned with called Battlemode ready for battle seeing the transformation from Battlemobile to Battlemode is sooo cool. The Batmobile is fun and engaging the driving mechanics and battlemode work flawlessly together and is one of Batman's coolest gadgets it feels like a needed necessity to progress in the game rather than just a placement.

If you have played the previous Arkham games you will feel right at home here if not it will take some time to master the game, most of the same fighting techniques, gadgets and gameplay mechanics are back with some additional improvements such as fear takedowns were Batman is able to take down multiply foes at one time, being able to use weapons such as Bats against other foes, environmental takedowns such as smashing an enemy's head into a electrical circuit (I don't know if that covers Batman Do not Kill Policy) and gadgets such as the Disrupter that disables enemy's weapons, all possible and curtsey of Lucious Fox which are all needed when your going up against an army of mercenaries a Scarecrow and the likes of Harley Quinn, Penguin and Two face.

    Perks
    Batmobile is fun and engaging
The driving mechanics and battle work flawlessly together
    John Noble voice of Scarecrow
    Kevin Conroy voice as Batman
    Stunning Graphics
    The Story's twist's and turns
The mind boggling events that accor
Added layers to combat mechanics such as environmental takedowns and duo takedowns
A satisfying conclusion to a remarkable trilogy
Side Storys indept story arch's from some of the best comic book villians in the DC Universe

    Negatives
    Too many Drone Battles
The Arkham Knight doesn't live up to the Title
Boss fights were somewhat disapointing and few

    Verdict
Batman Arkham Knight has it's flaws but developer Rocksteady makes up for this by providing the player with innovation gameplay, solid story, AAA game quality, and a true Batman gaming experience. Batman Arkham Knight is satisfying conclusion to a remarkable trilogy that brought the comic book game genre to life.

Personally, I was hoping it would be this way as it was all so perfect in the previous two titles.

If there was something I can pick on, it would be that the Batmobile can feel a bit clunky, but that aside the Batmobile is badass, it has a perfect place for this game and its so good to see it in use.
I've notice people are complaining that it is "over used."
It belongs to Batman. It is iconic. It's supposed to show usefulness in a driven and highly engaging environment. Again this is opinionated, but I honestly didn't feel that was a problem at all. Infact, I LOVE all the car chases.

I didn't seem to realise this, but there was a lack of boss fights in the game. I was so engaged in the story and combat to really notice, but I can understand others who may have seen this as a downfall.

    In a nutshell:
    Pros:
    - Excellent Story telling
    - Amazing graphics
    - Combat system is still epic as usual. The core mechanic is left the same so you wont be disappointed if you liked it in the other games.
    - Upgrade system is more refined and makes you think more on what to upgrade to assist your situation at the time
    - The same gadgets are back, including some new arrivals/enhancements which are really cool.
    - The Batmobile is badass. Enjoy cleaning up the streets.

    Cons:
    - Some gadgets can be underused. I didn't feel I needed to explore through them often as I should have. (The line launcher did have much need at all)
    - Batmobile controls and movement can feel a bit clunky
    - Side quests can get a bit tedious.

    Overall, another masterpiece for 2015.
Arkham Asylum has been my personal favorite, but there is so much to love in this game. Rocksteady again, continue to make legendary games that will go down as the some of the best superhero titles to ever be released.

All the Supervillians of Batman of the so called 'rogues gallery' are included. Riddler, Two-Face, Penguin, Scarecrow, Ivy etc etc. Even the very much dead Joker!

The Batmobile on the whole is a cool addition, but can get a little annoying at times when you have no option but to use it. Schooling the Militia tanks with the missile barrage however is pretty sick!

Overall Arkham Knight is another solid addition to the never disappointing series. Just a shame Rocksteady has decided to bring it to an end. Such fun games to play!

Not too sure what some peoples problem is giving it a zero? If you liked AA, AC or AO there is absolutely no reason why you wouldn't like this. Its more of the same! Stop hunting for perfection, you aint gona get it!

You always feel powerful. whether it's meeting up a group of 30 villains or putting the smack down on a big brute. a great game to end a fantastic trilogy. **** arkham origins.) Expand

I originally got this game for the PC (I had only played 60-90 minutes). I eventually got a refund for it because WB stopped selling it and I was worried about prospects of getting the DLC (I got the premium version). So I ordered this version (PS4). I just beat it last night and this game is amazing. The story is fun, the game isn't too repetitive (even those riddler challenges).

Now I am not going to spoil the ending but I only finished the first tier of ending (there's 3 total). My review is based off that first ending. The story was very intriguing. When I was younger I use to watch the Batman cartoons and even some of those old reruns of the old show (I'm 25 now but I saw those reruns when I was 5 or 6). I even saw and loved the first four batman movies. I love the Dark Knight trilogy. When I was 10 or 11 I loved watching Batman Beyond on cartoon network. Having said all of this I have never been into comics. I feel that the story of this game does Batman justice.

I took one star off because there are no boss fights outside of using the Batmobile. Driving in the batmobile is fun but I feel like it's forced too many times.

Although, there was something confuse me, Mark Hamill (The Voice of Joker) says it will be his last role. But, why does he voice Joker again? Does Rocksteady hires him again, with a lot of buck? Or... They don't trust other Actors (Troy Baker for example, since he played Joker in Arkham Origins). Nevertheless, Arkham is best to play...

Unless, you count the upcoming Uncharted 4: The Thief's End on your PS4 which is coming next year :v

2.Too much of a tank fight. While I enjoy using batmoblie around the city, I don't think using it as a tank is a good way to do in Batman game. Sometimes it feels good but sometimes it does not, and if you rethink for a second, we buy this game because we want to play as batman, not a tank destroyer. Therefore, even the tank-fight mechanic is good (it is really good), it is not batman game. They should make a separate game for this.

That is it for my short review. Even with 2 flaws, this game is awesome not the less, Everyone should get this game and enjoy your time for more than 2 weeks

Overall I found this game to be really well done, loads of content, no bugs, fun secondary missions, loads of stuff to do and stunning graphics.

The only thing I didn't like that much, I was expecting the skills you can unlock to be more powerful and spectacular.

After seeing all the negative user reviews I was hesitant to get this game but I sure am glad I finally pulled the trigger. The main negative of the last two games was that it didn't expand on the gameplay enough. Well here is the Batmobile, an expansion to the gameplay. I don't mind it at all like some poeple, giving the game zeroes. OK, let's just get the two worst things about thisAfter seeing all the negative user reviews I was hesitant to get this game but I sure am glad I finally pulled the trigger. The main negative of the last two games was that it didn't expand on the gameplay enough. Well here is the Batmobile, an expansion to the gameplay. I don't mind it at all like some poeple, giving the game zeroes. OK, let's just get the two worst things about this game out of the way first.

-Tank Battles - easily the dumbest addition to the franchise. However, this is getting way overblown in negative reviews. I noticed there are many other things to do with the Batmobile, such as chasing down enemy vehicles and using it for some environmental puzzles. It's launching system is also super awesome, allowing you to effortlessly glide across huge swathes of the city. The game does not force you to drive the Batmobile, you can still choose to go on foot if you please. Also, the tank battles are not as frequent as advertised by those 0 reviews and they are very short most of the time.

-Riddler - After 3 games of this crap I think I've finally had it with the Riddler and his totally illogical puzzles. Unfortunately here he is again with more trophies and puzzle rooms which are easy, but many and tedious. Also, you need beat his stupid rooms to free a side kick. Touche Rocksteady. This dude somehow has the resources to build huge race track style death traps under the city. It's ludicrous. Worse villian of all time. The riddler should have never been more that the actual riddles that you need to solve by scanning in items in the environment. That has always been fun. The trophies and challenge rooms, not so much.

If you can get over those two things like I did, you will have a hell of a time with this game. The new fear takedown mechanic makes you really feel like the Batman. Throw a smoke bomb, take out three armed thugs, and then swoop back away before anyone sees you. It's awesome. The controls are tight and the closeups of the takedowns are nice and brutal.

The two main modes of combat, melee and predator, are completely intertwined now letting you choose what to do in any encounter. Stealth movement and grappling have been polished to fine sheen, letting you move effortlessly around and plan your moves. The gadgets are still plenty and a whole wealth of new options are at your disposal for taking out enemies. This is good because the enemies are smarter overall whether it's just regular melee combat or a predator room. There are also new types, like the medic who revives enemies you've already taken out. It lends some new strategy to think about. I have to say overall, the gameplay aspects are polished to near perfection in this game so you could just concentrate on being Batman. Gamepley wise, it's the best in the series by far. One detraction though, there still some camera issues during melee combat.

The story is also well done and all cutscenes are top notch. It's not my favorite Batman story, but I'm kind f a comics snob so there ya go. Batman purists have always found issues with Rocksteady's take, but it's their take and the production values certainly don't detract. Voice acting is top notch.

Environments are varied and you are tasked with some short puzzles in addition to beating down thugs as you move through the story. Certain areas also require some detective work, which has been enhanced a bit from previous games but still rather easy to figure out. Also let me add that the city overall is very well laid out with interesting nooks and cranny all over. From dank sewers to the highest point you'll never see the same things. The detail is simply superb. Great level design going on here, but some may feel the area is smallish, more on par with City than Origins. I don't mind that. I'd rather have interesting environments than some huge empty world like we saw in Arkham Origins.

There are a ton of side activities to do as well and the only negative I can say about them is they are required to be complete in order to see the real ending. That means Riddler and all his stupid trophies as well. However, the rest of the side missions are pretty robust and they don't feel tedious to do. Rocksteady will at times block of the pursuit of a side mission until you proceed further with the main story. I actually liked that, but some people will find it annoying. I found to be a good balance throughout the game.

Anyway, I guess I got a little long winded there. Long story short, if you loved the previous Arkham games you will absolutely love this game too. Don't worry about the tank battles, they are not that bad but definitely not "Batman" like. The Batmobile other than that is a fun tool to have at your disposal. I can't enough of the glide boost function. If you are on the fence like I was and if you loved City and Origins, just get it. It's a bigger and better version of Arkham City, which previously was my favorite. Honestly though, Riddler trophies. GAH! Why Rocksteady?

An excellent game, but with one very divisive flaw: The Batmobile.
Combat: The combat is the main reason the Arkham series' fame. And the combat is the best in any of the Arkham games. With LOADS of moves to unlock, and even more powerful and newer enemy types (Example: The medic can revive downed opponents and electrically charge them for more damage). The combat never gets stale.

Batmobile: Now this may be divisive. There is a lot of driving and tank combat in the game, especially in the main story. The batmobile is fun to drive, looks beautiful, and controls like a car in a good racing game. The tank combat is fun, but it gets stale after a while, and it lacks the depth or fluidity of on-foot combat. So, I recommend doing some side quests (which usually involve on-foot combat) in between bouts of Tank combat.
The City: Gotham is dark, violent, and incredibly gorgeous. The game from a technical standpoint runs like a dream on the PS4, though only 30 fps, its very stable. The graphics are beautiful, especially the textures and water. Exploring the city while gliding feels amazing, and my favourite thing to do in the game.
Story: Not gonna spoil anything. The story isnt as good as Asylum. We can see Batman get pushed to his moral and Psychological limit. While the main plot itself isn't too complex, the characters, dialogues and screenplay are movie-level. The game is very cinematic.
There are sidequests involving recurring villains like Penguin, Harvey Dent and Riddler, and also FireFly, which are all a blast to play through.
The game will last you 15 hours on main story, about 30-35 if you wanna do side quests.
Ultimately, it dependa on the batmobile tank combat. Check some gameplay footage to see what you feel about it.

The Arkham Knight is the some what focus of this game (Hints the name) and he is a unknown villain hell bent on bringing Batman to his kneels and getting his revenge. Him and his Men are the most prepared and well armed when it comes to fighting the Batman. The combat to the game is very fluid and smooth with only a few times where you get mad at Batman for not doing even remotely close to what you wanted him to, other then those odd points the combat is very enjoyable. The environments mostly give you multiple ways to handle a situation rather it be stealth from below/above or a all out brawl or something in-between. The addition of the Batmobile adds a whole new level of combat to the game with the ability to call in the Tank/Super Car with a press of a button you are able to use it to take out enemy checkpoints, Tanks or whatever you need. The Batmobile is extremely fun to drive with it smashing through parts of builds and pushing cars, Also drifting corners and hitting jumps is fun. There are a few Riddler challenges and story missions that build some puzzles around the Batmobile witch can get boring and repetitive but still nice to see them work the vehicle into some puzzles. The game is also full of things to do with tons of side missions to track down and finish, from Hostage's to save,Murders to Solve or other villains to hunt down and lock up. The story to me was a amazing story exploring points of the Batman universe that are extremely well known and close to the fans of the series, anyone who is a slight fan of the Batman universe will instantly love the story of Arkham Knight. The game looks beautiful, Environments are extremely detailed and it gives the feeling of immersion and really pulls you into the story.Arkham Knight Isn't a perfect game but it's really close, if you a fan of past Batman games or a Batman Nerd like myself you will love this game but if your not invested in the world of Batman you may not have the same experience but I'm sure it'll still be enjoyable. Most of them are from PC gamers not reviewing on their own page and others don't review the whole game just the worst part of it. Even Witcher 3 can be the worst if focused only on the negative. Since the negative's are really easy let's start with the one.

-Batmobile combat. The combat of the Batmobile will take you out of it. Without a doubt the worst part of the game. Sadly there is quite a bit of it. Thankfully they are not that long and can be beaten quickly. Driving is fun but it takes a while to get used to. Once you do though it is rather fun but some disagree. Personally I have had no problems handling the batmobile in non-combat mode. Even if you don't like driving it you can get around the city just as easily gliding. This really about does it for negatives sadly it's a pretty big one and does bring the game down.

    Pros:
-Story: Simply Sublime best it's ever been.
-Combat: As Smooth and fluid as past games. It's not super different from past iterations however more aggressive AI adds that little touch to make it fresh. Also the ability to team up with fellow heroes to beat on villains is amazing. Switching between them is easy and the double take-downs are satisfying to watch. I hope more games figure out how to implement this.
-Navigation: As mentioned above simply driving the batmobile is fun at least for me. I had no real problems with the handling and hunting down villains in cars with it can lead to some great chases. However, if you find yourself having difficulty with it going on foot is just as viable. Zipping up buildings to glide across the city is even better than Arkham City.
Puzzles: The puzzles in this game are interesting and unique. The puzzles feature the best use of the batmobile. For example one puzzle involves using a winch to create your own ramps to get across some buildings.
-Villains. This one is a hit or miss depending on who you are. Some of the boss battles are sadly not as elaborate as Arkham City's. Some of them like Two-Face you can beat with a silent takedown. Which in my opinion makes sense and I prefer to the classic 3 hit-point of older games. You may like it or not just saying it's there. However, the character themselves are fantastic as usual.

Conclusion: Overall this ties up the Arkham trilogy from Rocksteady superbly. If your a fan of the past ones this is a must have. However, it should be mentioned if you plan on playing it on PC and found your way to the PS4 page by accident. Just go there to find out all the reasons it's an awful idea. Judging the game purely on it's own merit and not awful ports. It's one of the best games of the year. Honestly, hopefully PC gets a patch soon so they can experience just how great this game is.

Batman was always my favorite super hero. A legend and larger than life character who will stop at nothing to save Gotham from the unspeakable evil. In 2009 Rocksteady shocked everyone by making the most beautiful comic video game, Batman Arkham Asylum and now, batman is back in the final game which is bigger and better than ever, Batman Arkham Knight.
The opening scene starts out strong and is one of the best I have seen in a video game this year with the scarecrow making a big impact. Batman Arkham Knight picks up after Arkham city. The stakes are higher now than ever and the people of Gotham have evacuated the city because Scarecrow has threatened to detonate a chemical weapon. The city is now filled with all kinds of gangs causing chaos and it is up to our hero to save the day.
Gliding over the city of Arkham was an awesome feeling. The first thing you will notice is just how impressive the world around batman is. The world is divided into 3 islands, Bleake Island, Founders Island and Miagani Island, each with its own landscapes and unique setting.
Everything is done with detail, from the dark sky, huge buildings to the gang filled streets that feel more lively. I appreciated the attention to detail such as the rain drops falling on batman’s cape. The graphics are also very good, I did not notice any frame rate drops or loading times during my gameplay. Loading times happens only when batman dies.
One of the main strengths of the batman series was the fighting mechanics. The combat system is more refined than before making every hit, grapple and environmental take down rewarding. The combinations are impressive. Every fight felt different because you get to use the gadgets as well which helps you improvise the best approach and strategy on enemies. I liked the addition of the fear takedowns because if done successfully, you will be able to take out multiple enemies simultaneously. The excellent level design allows you to approach enemies in different ways by silently taking them out, luring them to where you want or going all out on them.
There will be a lot of gadgets at your disposal each having its own strengths. My favorite gadget was the remote controlled batmobile that allows you to control the batmobile remotely. The most important addition in Batman Arkham Knight is the powerful batmobile. The first in the series and it plays a big part of the whole game because you will use it to travel from point to point and to take out enemies. You will spend a lot of time with the batmobile. Controlling it is smooth and turning around tight corners feels satisfying. I liked how destructible the environments around me were and hearing the gangs scream out when they notice the batman is a nice touch. With just a press of a button you can call the batmobile from anywhere and hope into it. You can propel batman up into the sky while driving which is very cool to pull off. Switching the batmobile into a tank is easily done, you can use the tank to take out multiple enemies, solve puzzles, and control it in hard to reach places. I enjoyed the addition of the batmobile but it does get tiring especially at the end of the game where it feels forced.
There is a well-balanced progression system in which you collect XP to upgrade your gadgets skills, batsuit, combat, and batmobile.
Every character in the game felt rich with lots of dialogue and performances by the Joker and Scarecrow were memorable. You will come across many characters throughput the main campaign. Such as Penguin, Face Off and Poison Ivy. All are there for a reason which adds to the overall experience. Seeing the Catwomen and Robin again was great. There will be missions where you will be teaming up with them. The game is challenging and unlike previous instalments where most of the enemies looked the same, here you will encounter many groups of enemies with their own skills.
It took me around 13 hours to complete the main campaign. The story is the most focused in the series. It is more personal and batman is in for the biggest challenge yet. The pacing of the story is very good with a lot of twists and turns. The variety of missions and the clever puzzles are intriguing. Replay value is high and there will be plenty of reasons to come back for like the side missions, AR challenges, Riddlers missions and solving murder cases.
Batman Arkham Knight is a bench mark for superhero games. It is an action packed game with great music, voice acting, characters, and fun gameplay that will entertain you from start to finish. Batman Arkham Knight is one of those games that successfully makes you feel that you are the batman.

The Arkham series is the prove of how great super hero videogames can be when they're not mindless cash-in but how did this episode (the first on PS4) fared ?

Technically the game is beautiful and flawless on PS4 (yes I'm well aware of the problems on PC but I'm not reviewing this version of the game), it was probably the best looking game on this generation (exclusives aside) when it came out, the animations are also superb, a great job from Rocksteady (they didn't manage the PC version).

Concerning the gameplay the fighting system is still absolutely fun, the action never stops, there's a good variety of combo and the controls are responsive. The stealth part is also very well manage with lot of possibilities to deal with them. And for the driving, the main novelty of this episode it is also very well down, the bat-mobile is as reactive and powerful that you'll dream of , unfortunately they over did it a little and you use it a bit too much in the game and you can be bored with it during time.

The story is once again marvelous, Batman fan or not everybody will be committed to it, with some nice twists. There's also a lot of side activities to do (like I said a bit too much of bat-mobile in them, but also some great ones) that brings variety and length to the game ( around 50 hours for 100%).

So in conclusion Arkham Knight on PS4 is great game prevented from perfection only by an overdose of bat-mobile (but I can understand them, it must have been like hell to program it as good as they did) but every super hero lovers must play this game (as well as the whole Arkham series).

Which was actually really similar to Assassin's Creed, although I haven't seen much negativity about that (and at the same time I don't know which one developed the combat first). There was also the Batmobile, a common problem. It took over the game often. I really liked it, but there was still too much of it in the game. The storyline is great, and it's a really long one (the full thing, however the main story is just over average in length, but a very good story no matter how far you go). With the combination of the quality storyline and the decent open world, it makes for a huge game. Arkham City still remains slightly better, but Arkham Knight is a good game. Expand

Despite this, the side missions are mostly great, but some of them do get repetitive and were missed on my first playthrough, especially the ones involving the mines in the city. The batmobile is a great fun and some of the puzzle elements that utilise this feature are cleverly conceived. The combat is more or less the same as previous incarnations, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. It works really well. Overall, great game - lots of variety with the missions, graphics are great but some of the side missions could have been better.
I did get the DLC codes for the Red Hood and Harley Quinn packs. Don't pay extra for these, they are largely terrible. I finished both of them in little over an hour.

I have maybe 10 to 12 hours in the game at this point. The time put into building Gotham by the Rocksteady team must have been staggering. I am a fan of the entire series and am simply amazed at the detail found in this rendition of Gotham. The lighting and shading is nothing short of quality art, once again thanks to the team responsible. The combat is as usual fluid and better than previous titles. If you felt Batman was a bada55 before this title, you will think he is a pi55ed off bada55 in this addition to the series. The story is just fine, all the trolls who call it predictable should be laughed at. It has a lot of predictability about it, but really most games do, move on with your negativity. The presentation of the story is where it counts. If you are a fan of this genre and Batman, you will be pleased. The game is deep in storyline and I probably have not scratched the surface. Like previous titles there is a plethora of choices of what to do, where to go, who to inflict Batmans will upon. The addition of the batmobile is no deterrent to the greatness of this game. Remember this is not Gran Turismo or Forza, it is an open world action game. Anyone who tells you the driving in any comparable games is great is lying. No GTA, or Saints Row, Godfather, Watch Dogs, etc, has perfect driving and maneuverability. Arkham Knight is no different, and the inclusion of the batmobile is welcome. Realistically Rocksteady didn't need to and the game would have sold the same number of copies. That said it is a bonus and provides a nice touch. This game has the graphics, the gameplay, the story and adds up to a compelling and very fun title. Idiots will be idiots, in 2015 we are surrounded by them. We all know them, always negative, always tearing others down to attempt to justify their ignorance. Join me and laugh at them, my life is good and I look to enjoy finishing this great game. Sorry to the children who have nothing better to do and are angry at mom and dad, your reviews are laughable. Thanks again Rocksteady for putting forth great effort to give us a very capable game. The lighting effects in the city are colourful and can be seen from each end of the map, the sound is eery and suits the games overall mood. Performances by the voice actors are convincing although the same voices are used for all the normal enemies, John noble as scarecrow does a very good job and despite what some people have been saying I think batman is suitably voiced for the game. The batmobile can be a chore to use sometimes but it doesn't effect the overall experience in my opinion and does well to mix things up. Driving around the city in the batmobile can be thrilling as you get a good sense of speed and the controls are very responsive making you feel accomplished when you pull off a tight turn. It's the tank gameplay with the batmobile that can be a drag and it is used too often throughout the game. The normal batman mechanics such as the excellent combat and stealth sections are as good as ever.
The side missions are varied although some are better than others but none of them are bad. The story is the games strongest aspect followed by the batman gameplay, there are a lot of surprises in the game and you always want to play more. The world is beautiful and detailed, and as a comic lover i enjoy the vast story tied together in one hellish night for Batman. But Arkham Asylum was tighter, the story was just as good with the amount of villians you didn't see, catching glimpses of their lives in the Asylum before the breakout seemed to give them more mythos than the clumsy way some are simply ham fisted into Arkham Knight.

The Batmobile is hit and miss, using it more sparingly may have been better. After the first few battles i was thinking "great, another tank battle". I do enjoy swinging round the city in the Bmobile and some of the chase parts are fun; but, overall too much was given to the tank battles.

I still think the game is excellent, but it's a little bloated and the world doesn't feel as alive and engrossing as Asylum. I've enjoyed the story so far, it feels like a graphic novel akin to the long halloween but less like the collection of comics that Asylum felt like.

Yes the game does attempt to advertise its new and impressive addition that is the Batmobile seemingly at every possible opportunity; but its what everyone has been crying out for since the Batman first made his comeback on the modern day consoles so although it can become a bit repetitive in that sense, do not let this detract from what a marvel this game is.
Slick combat engine that the game series boasted from day one, the detail in the world around you is at times mind boggling and the story is immersive and will keep you entertained from start to finish.

Buying it on PS4 then came to a struggle considering that PSN was slowed by the release of this game. Nonetheless, after six hours of downloading I finally had my own copy of Batman: Arkham Knight. And boy, I definitely have no regrets. Having never completed a Batman game before (except a bit of Arkham Asylum), getting into this game was a breeze. All the combat feels intuitive and flowing. Never does it feel like a the chopped up mess some fighting games can be. The combat seamlessly introduces you to the world of the Dark Knight. So far, I have yet to notice anything game breaking. Graphics are phenomenal, fighting is fluid, multi-hero integration is outstanding, and the story is absolutely a breath of fresh air. This game hits every single criteria of being a success, yet is not deserving of a perfect score. Nothing really is. This game is solid and has yet to show show any glaring flaws, it just simply neglects to be extraordinarily innovative or game-changing. This game doesn't deserve the 6.7 user score that it's been given so far; although I agree with the preorder haters on this busch league system they scattered amongst gaming distributers, these reviews are for the game itself not about the way it's DLC is distributed. As for the PC users, its hard to feel any sympathy when on every form you're bragging about how much better PC is than console gaming then come crying to the console user scores when the PC version doesn't work. This game is a solid 9/10. If you loved Arkham City then you're gonna love this game, basically same thing just better graphic and an amazing addition with the batmobile. It is a bit frustrating sometimes how much they implement the Batmobile into every other mission but it's a new toy and all they try to do is show off it's features. The story is engaging (as expected, due to no multiplayer) and has varied side missions which are highly entertaining, especially the Riddler puzzles which add another aspect by including the batmobile. Whilst on the topic of the batmobile, in all honesty, it was a let down. It is relied upon too heavily at times, and although it's fun to powerslide across Gotham city, personally it detaches from the 'Batman' feel of the game. I much prefer gliding across the city like a bad-ass butterfly. The add ons (Harley Quinn, Red-hod and Scarecrow mission packs) are also very entertaining, but quite short. The combat is what makes the game in my opinion. The freeflowing combos and the addition of the fear attack, makes the melee engrossing and addictive. Nothing better than beating the crap out of a thug, in true emphatic Batman-fashion. The options to plan out your attacks is also a great feature, which gives you more choice and makes the game more strategic. To briefly summarise, the game is beautiful and fully utilises the next-gen, however the batmobile is relied on quite alot and the story/side missions could be longer, however the melee and the range of missions push Batman to a solid 9/10. Batman Arkham Knight is a beautiful game with tasteful visuals, a deep and engaging story and a combat system that is as smooth as ever, but there is a few things which brings it down.

The Gameworld is the prettiest it's ever been with a massive open world full of stuff to do, Gotham looks pretty in its ugliness from the intimidating skyscrapers to the glistening wet streets. The enemies are well detailed with believable facial expressions and body movements and Batman looks awesome in his new suit. This game makes even Robin look cool.

The combat isn't just copy and pasted from Arkham City either, they've added new counters, new enemy tactics, new gadgets and new enemy combatants. The predator sections are awesome with new movement systems that allow you to move around and take out enemies smoothly but it's still challenging, one misstep and you mess up your grove and get pounded buy a horde of goons.

The Most wanted missions are also something worth sinking your teeth into if you crave more bad guy brutalisation, most are check list occupation missions like disable the gun tower but others allow you to take on super villains such as Two-Face or the Riddler. The side missions have story elements that actually matter which I think is how side missions should be done.

The story is engaging and keeps you on edge, it does pull some cheap shots though for the sake of drama and you figure out who the Arkham Knight is quite early if you pay attention which ruins the surprise.

The Batmobile is where the game looses its 10/10 because even though getting around would be a pain in the a** and the gameplay is fun, the game relies too much on it making most of the boss fights tank battles, one which annoyed me so much is that Deathstoke my favourite villain is restricted to an easy tank battle and then defeated with a single hit, I personally wanted to go mano e mano and have a proper fist fight but alas they cheated me out of my satisfaction there.

All in all this game is a near perfect homage to the Batman Arkham series and is worthy of our respect.

Thank you Rocksteady for one hell of a ride.

What is with that user score?! PC fanboys coming over to the ps4 and xbox1 versions and lowering the scores cause the PC version just happens to not be the best port of the game? I can NEVER take user reviews and scores on metacritic seriously anymore...

Overall score for this game 9/10.

I admit, I got a little annoyed with all the trophy hunting, but it was because I wanted to see the true end so bad!! Big thumbs up for this game! Expand

Amazing finale of the Arkham Trilogy By Rocksteady. The Graphics, Gameplay and Soundtrack were all amazing! The only letdowns about the game is that the Batmobile is sometimes forced and the arkham knight reveal could've been done better.

Batman Arkham Knight is the last game in the trilogy from Rocksteady and the series does not end in a bad way. Arkham Knight one of the best games existing today and it combines a great main story with interesting side missions. And a big plus for the game is of course the batmobile. 10 out of 10 for me.

The gameplay is solid. You can see RockSteady has really refined the freeflow system since they first came out with Asylum. The graphics are most likely the best I've ever seen in a PS4 game so far. And I loved the graphical look of games like Far Cry 4, Bloodborne, and even Assassins Creed Unity. Though no game is without its quirks. The Batmobile I love. It takes time to get used to it and RockSteady really forces it upon you to use it constantly. Batman has way too many gadgets in this game too. We know he has all those pouches but he cant carry all those things. But overall besides those few things. This is Game of the Year for a reason. Also on another note: For those into DLC- There's some cool stuff being announced but they aren't delivering the overall appeal to games in the DLC. I would say wait it out and check updates to find out which ones are good to buy packs separately Expand

Batman Arkham Knight isn't the best of the series because of the tank mode for the batmobile(mostly the stealth aspect) and the story isn't the best in the series but it is the best gameplay and graphically wise when it comes down to it

Yes there are times when the sheer volume of drones or bad guys sporting machine guns, shock gloves and blades are a little bit frustrating but satisfying when they fall and I guess that is the whole point of being the caped crusader, being out manned and out gunned yet still coming up victorious. The Bat mobile serves as a break up from swinging from roof top to roof top and beating hench men to a pulp and if like me you don't mind the drone shooting there is a particularly satisfying part towards the end of the game triggered by a count down and then BOOM!.
Overall very very good and well worth the time invested.

You can choose through a variety of large upgrades such as weapons and armor on the Batmobile. Speaking of the batmobile, aka the most controversial thing about the game. It is very well done in a way that lets you drive around and have lots of fun with it. But they should have stopped there. They keep forcing you into batmobile puzzles and just waves of the same drones over and over witch do get very frustrating and very annoying throughout the game. The plot is very good in my opinion. In the near beginning that is basically just amazing. I won't spoil obviously but prepare to be surprised. Yes the Arkham Knight's Identity is very obvious to any comic book fan or just basically someone with knowledge of the Batman Universe. But there were some plot twists that kept things interesting. Considering i didnt play the first two so i could be set up for this plot, it really didnt matter to me, this game is just to enthralling not to read in to every single detail of the settings, characters and hidden eggs you see along the way defeating each villain. I simply could not get enough, i loved how they used Christopher Nolans batman series as reference. The toxin threat from "batman begins" , the use of the joker (even though it was over played) from " the dark knight" and the mass amount of armies and thug take overs just like Banes plan in Rises. I am so sad that this is only a triology, i ended up completing the story and buying elder scrolls and the witcher 3 only to go back so i can 100% the game. I know fan boys who are upset about the batmobile and using joker way to much but get over it. Just think of the man hours put in to this enthralling game, Shame on you for voting it anything less then a 7. Rocksteady out did themselves on this one, another problem i only have with this game is that i wish there were way more villains rather then 240 riddler trophies they could have implemented them way more. As someone who didn't play the two preceding games, I perhaps benefited from seeing everything through fresh eyes - all of the gadgets were new and exciting to me, which I gather some other veterans of the series found rather tired. With so many gameplay quirks that could easily be extremely annoying, the devs have done a fantastic job in making everything so intuitive. The graphics are gorgeous, and the side quests engaging. Opinion will continue to be divided on the overuse of tank encounters, but personally I liked them. For me, this is the second best PS4 game released behind The Witcher, and I love it for different reasons; shallow reasons such as the beauty of the graphics and the abundance of explosions. Expand

There are more gadgets in the game but one of the best additions to the game is that the player can drive the batmobile which I thought was going to be hard to control but it was easy driving it. The only negative I can say about this game is the ending. The ending wasn't bad or great it was just okay and it's something I've seen already. Batman: Arkham Knight is the best looking game in the series so far, and includes a lot of cool stuff for fans of Batman. But at the same time it’s starting to feel like Rocksteady is almost too comfortable. It lacks new content, except the pretty bad designed Batmobile parts. If you haven’t played the previous games that much you will probably think that this is one of the best games this year.
