    A nearly unchanged version of the previous game rehashed in a blatent money grab, and rehashed badly. Even worse than the cheaters is Activision's apparent tolerance of them - even though it's obvious that the laggers account for a huge amount of the connection problems that you're sure to encounter every single gaming section. I regret this purchase, it's absolutely not worth the price of admission unless you're a camper or a cheater. And if you're both -- well, then you're already playing this game.… Expand

    Graphics:
    People often bash the game for graphics, but the graphics are actually quite well done. Moving on.

    Story:
    The story leaves off from Modern Warfare 2, where the Russians are attacking the U.S.! Why? Because of the infamous "No Russian" mission from Modern Warfare 2, which Makarov, the main antagonist and leader of the Ultranationalist terrorists, blamed the U.S. for the massacre at the airport. Anyways, the Russian president was going to sign a peace treaty with the Americans, but Makarov captured him, cancelling the treaty. The Russo-American war goes on and eventually develops into World War III.

    I just wanna get to gameplay, so, just to wrap the story up, it seems to be a repeat of a lot of story lines.

    And now, the part I wanted to discuss from the start, Gameplay:
    Gameplay should be familiar to veteran CoD players. Aim. Shoot. Kill. Hunt for play. Rinse. Repeat. Simple as that. However, the combat often takes place in close quarters, making SMGs and shotguns preferred over most weaponry. The maps often vary highly, but often give a similar experience each time I play it. The concrete pipe in Hardhat has massive firefights, the hilltop in Mission is a large fighting zone. In fact, every map but Dome has just one area where most of the fighting takes place, which can make experience from maps usually the same. The guns, perks, and killstreaks are mainly the same as Modern Warfare 2's guns, with some swap-outs, changes, and twists. Respawns are always either too close or too far from the action. And that final kill cam? Whoever made that is a sick, twisted, scum of the Earth. You can't even leave the server if you are being killed in it and you already got your bonus EXP.

    Overall, this game is bad, but is often bashed by 7 year old children who don't even own the game. Ben out.    … Expand

    Disappointing. CoD4 was very good, very addictive and well balanced. CoD: MW2 didn't live up to expectations, but did allright. Except multiplayer was starting to show cracks in it's shiny exterior. MW3 gives me a feeling of 'fail'. It's nothing new compared to MW2, except some new maps. The game is full of camping people, guns aren't well balanced and what's up with sniping?? SomehowDisappointing. CoD4 was very good, very addictive and well balanced. Sniping should take skill, not some perk and auto-aim to make it a 1-shot-killingmachine you can carry around the map, run and sprint with.

    It's time for some closure and re-invent the series, with a new engine and some very good thinking through of the multiplayer, because it's lost allmost everything of it's greatness of CoD4. I can't say much of the single-player, just scratched the surface, but it's same-old-same-old...

    It's very sad, that people give a developer credit for lazy work. Half of the sounds, equipment, perks, guns, and only one new attachment are in the game. 80% of the killstreaks are the same. And you always the get the felling "I have done this before". Survival is sorry attempted at zombies and fails flat.

    Wow how did they screw up this game. Just awful. The campaign is pretty boring until the end,Spec Ops is better in this game than MW2, and MP is just god awful. Overpowered perks like assassin and Deathstreaks like final stand, dead man's hand, etc. This is definitely the worst call of duty.

    Plz stop making these same boring games and do something new. MW3 was a disappointment. It was basically the same as MW2 online but worse due to all the nooby killstreaks and unbalanced weapons. At least try and make weapons that compete with each other rather then just 3 weapons that everyone uses because they chop up. Finally the campaign had no reply value at all and also it was tooPlz stop making these same boring games and do something new. MW3 was a disappointment. It was basically the same as MW2 online but worse due to all the nooby killstreaks and unbalanced weapons. They fixed a few problems here and there (no Commando, no OP noobtubes) but also spawned some new problems of its own. The only additions they made to the game were basically just unnecessary crap that doesn't even belong, such as the Support package andModern Warfare 3 is a terrible game.     wow what awful game the graphics were great but the multiplayer was ummmm. ........ The only thing am going to say is the bomb sound , it explodes so bad that I had to laugh and cry at the same time because I never hear a bomb like that and there was one that sound like that sorry but it's sooooo bad. thank god I didn't buy it

    This horror drudgery Shouldn't even be in call of duty. From the Boring Campaign to the horrible multiplayer maps to the desperate attempt of the spec ops mode, there isn't really much to say here. Me? Im a cod fan, but that's going to change if Activition, Treyarch, and Infinity ward, doesn't start learning how to make games. Or at the very least, make something new.

Killing enemies that lack the brain to take cover and just run into your bullets makes the campaign boring and leaves a deja-vu effect if you played MW2. Now, with the star of the game, multiplayer. In my opinion, MW2 added a lot of stuff that ruined the game, like deathstreaks and a nuke. The only thing fixed in MW3 are the grenade launcher's blast radius. Terrible weapon balance, overpowered perks and even worse map design with lots of camping spots (yes, campers are back), terrible spawns and bad hit detection. Visual glitches and some unfixed issues (like teammates shoving you) are still present. Oh, and now the nuke is called M.O.A.B. but it doesn't end the match, just kills everyone. However, it's still a stupid killstreak. Overall, MW3 has the same graphics, same weapons with other name and same problems MW2 had. Do not buy this 60-bucks expansion pack.… Expand

    This game deserves NO credit, it was Modern Warfare 2 with an add-on pack of maps. Everything was much better in MW2 than here. The level aesthetically is wonderful, but the re-spawn is atrocious, no game have I hated more than this, and it's not because of difficulty, this game was fundamentally broken.     I think I've played a game that seems the exact same as this oh yeah MW2. Where to start with this pile of a mess. The singleplayer is bland. Multiplayer couldn't be worse and spec ops all together is not fun. And literally nothing different between MW2 and MW3. Not even textures on guns or death animations or sound design. And the graphics look like a late PS2 game.

    Just an expensive mod for modern warfare 2. Multiplayer was atrocious but, the single player was alright. Survival was just a cheap rip off of zombies. Everything was extremely similar to modern warfare 2.

    I actually can say I was somewhat interested in MW3 just because of the story. MW2's campaign was actually a good one so I thought the follow up in MW3 would be a decent one. Sadly, this is not the case. MW3's campaign edges on your patience mission by mission following up with one boring step at a time. I had forced myself to play on hoping something exciting would happen. UnfortunatelyI actually can say I was somewhat interested in MW3 just because of the story. MW2's campaign was actually a good one so I thought the follow up in MW3 would be a decent one. Sadly, this is not the case. MW3's campaign edges on your patience mission by mission following up with one boring step at a time. I had forced myself to play on hoping something exciting would happen. Unfortunately it took about half of the time I spent playing before something interesting actually happened, it took me until the level with the sandstorm to not get bored for a while. Then after that. The game once again starts to become less and less interesting. It took me a little under seven hours to complete the campaign on veteran. It might just be a matter of perspective but I thought it was much more fun in MW2 playing as the Rangers as apposed to MW3's DF. The graphics aren't much different then MW2. In fact they're exactly the same. Nothing has improved. You even see some of the same objects that were in MW2. Sounds of guns are okay but I have run into a few situations where the game will mess up and I'll hear a static-ish screeching that will force me to turn my sound all the way down until it stops. Half of the music flat out sucks. It's probably the worst soundtrack of any of the CoD series. You hear the delta force music so much that the mute button on your TV actually becomes useful. On to the multiplayer. In my eyes MW3 is slightly better then the camp fest known as MW2. It's no CoD4 but it's decent. Until the lag hits. Wow this game lags far worse then Black Ops ever did online. This company has made over a billion dollars from the Call of Duty name and they can't get better servers? The constant freezing in games and lag makes this game a joke. Just like Black ops and MW2 a lot of the maps in the game feel like they were designed to suck. This game's online interface has taken a huge step back from where BO was going too. The lack of in depth stat tracking and MW3's terrible theatre, which for some reason doesn't work for me half of the time (Out of Memory.) . I feel like whoever was working on the MP aspect just threw stuff together and called it a day. All in all. This game is below being what could be considered mediocre at best. The campaign blows. Survival should have been 4 players, and the online is really laggy. I seriously hope if there is a MW4 IW gets their crap together because if this is the sign of all things to come it looks like Treyarch is going to be the only one dropping out decent CoD's.… Expand

    Game supports only unranked dedicated servers and by default server browser is hidden. Users must activate server browser from their settings. Game itself is almost the same old COD, no reason to release a new game. They could have released these maps for earlier COD games. Can't seriously recommend this to anyone.

    I have been playing COD since MW1, but i am getting tired of this. it feels the same as MW2, but not in a good way. I got fast bored with this game, its a disappointment.

I think the current user score is pretty much spot on. I got sucked in by the hype and paid for elite. Feeling like a bit of a chump now. (I will not speak of the campaign any further than that.)

    Then we got Black Ops, which sucked. Let us not speak of it again.

    Now we have this thing. I knew this game was going to be copy/pasted to the extreme, but i was thinking "hey, maybe it'll be GOOD copy-pasta."

    I was wrong. When people say "this is the EXACT same thing as MW2," they really aren't joking. The game runs on an engine that is 3 years old with no improvements. It uses the same sound effects, the same models for the weapons, the same friggin font, renamed perks, and the same attachments. This game was LAZILY made. The survival mode feels tacked on and rushed, Zombies has more production value than IW's offering. (and is more fun to boot) The maps are utterly claustrophobic that fit the standard settings of a CoD map (ruined city, dirty place, grey place, brown place, GREYISH BROWN PLACE OF DIRT AND RUBBLE), there is little to no originality in the game, period.     I had a feeling this would happen again after black ops, another 60 dollar map pack. Very disapointed with the "profesional" critics giving this game such high marks. Will not spend any more money on Cod until they finally do some real innovation and not just tweaks.

I myself grew weary of the series around MW2, so I did not purchase it, however watching my little brother play, I can confirm it looks EXACTLY like MW2.

    Amazing that people think the low user score is down to BF3 trolls. I bought MW3 for £40 and it is essentially a frickin' map pack. I could forgive the fact they're still using the dated IW engine if this was brimming with new features and innovations, but this is just a shocking effort - go back to the drawing board already.

    Sad. Literally. It takes up the most powerful game developer to repackage the same sounds, models, textures.

    If you played almost ANY Call of Duty, you ain't missing anything. This game is the same recycled trash from 2007. From a Call of Duty fan, I am disappointed, glad I only rented it.

    Like Modern Warfare 2 and Black OPS Modern Warfare3 is a cash w***re NOTHING else. I wonder what happend with this generation? Moder Warafe 3 has only flaws - 5 hour single campaign, much worse Multiplayer (Battlefield 3 ROXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX), and last but not least graphics looks like S**IT

    Single player story = absolutelllly stuupid garbage for 13 years old with 60 IQ.

    This game blows, if i wanted this, i would've just put my MW2 disc back in my console, this is some of the most expensive DLC i have ever seen. I could've bought 6 copies of motorstorm one and it would've been a wiser investment than this! Its the same stuff rehashed and re-used constantly, graphics are amazing.. three years ago.. It's just the same old crap all over again and i've gotten to the stage i don't even want to try the single player game.     Toujours la même chose. Le plaisir de jouer reste mais c'est tellement moche et les cartes si petites ! 2012 devra être une révolution, ne serait-ce que du point de vue des graphismes parce que sinon, les ventes vont chuter drastiquement. A bon entendeur !

    Decu, j'ai pas trouvé de grandes nouveautées avec en plus un filtre ps3 blanchatre et de l'aliasing alors que sur 360 il n'y en a pas.
    Plus il y a du des batiments du premier Modern Warfare recyclé dans celui ci.

    For $60 two years after the release of MW2 you should be getting way more advanced graphics or better engine.

    I loved Modern Warfare and when Modern Warfare 2 came out I was blown away. I like the way that the maps where so realistic and multi-dimentional. I liked that you could climb up and on everything there was a great balance for all classes. The new modern warfare feels like you just run in circles hoping that you can get a few kills before a 1st lvl player kills you. I have no problem withI loved Modern Warfare and when Modern Warfare 2 came out I was blown away. I like the way that the maps where so realistic and multi-dimentional. I liked that you could climb up and on everything there was a great balance for all classes. The new modern warfare feels like you just run in circles hoping that you can get a few kills before a 1st lvl player kills you. I have no problem with cutting down on the camping but this is the other extreme its just to much running with no stratagy at all.     There's a tangible insistence from gamers that this series needs to evolve, but it seems unwarranted when it still leads the FPS class. The engine's definitely in need of an overhaul, but when it comes to thumping set-pieces and addictive multiplayer design, Modern Warfare 3 is still in a league of its own.
