    I don't know how "Activision" can launch this kind of games. Call of duty: MW3 is the same game that MW2; the same graphics, weapons and the same strategy.
    MW3 is not a emulator of the real live but a simple arcade.
    I put 1 because this game is really an actualization of mw2 and NOT A NEW GAME.

    I used to be such a COD head until this game came out. COD used to always take the cake for me when it came to shooter games but this years edition [MW3] just isn't as exciting. It lacks the "WOW" factor very much and the online issues with lag and servers disconnecting at random moments has made me almost regret the purchase aside from this game just being sort of bland. The campaign mode is top notch but the spec-ops/co-op mode is pretty so-so. Zombie mode is still COD's best co-op mode. The biggest issue I also had with the multiplayer online is that it seems that you die to quickly in comparison to previous COD games. It's almost as if the regular game modes play with hardcore rules and bullets generally deal a lot more damage. I hope they step up on the next COD because this one would be easy to forget.… Expand

    The same game recycled over and over again and it still sells 6,000,000 copies. The developers could litterly take a crap in the box and even tell you are getting a smelly turd instead of a game and it would sell a million copies, and get 9.0's from review sites. Gaming is such a joke

    Very, very disappointing. Barely any work put into this game at all. Spawn next to an enemy happens far too frequently and I seem to lose connection a whole lot. The game engine has barely improved since CoD4. They seem to sit back, do as little work possible and just rake in the money because it carries the Call of Duty name. That won't last much longer.

    The original COD 4 is highly regarded as one of the best games in the series, and the favorite of many. Unfortunately, since then, the COD games have become progressively worse. By MW2, things really got out of hand with its overpowered killstreaks and perks. After that, I could never take IW seriously again. I stuck with 3ark, and enjoyed Black Ops despite its flaws. At last,    Oh IW....

By MW2, things really got out of hand with its overpowered killstreaks and perks. After that, I could never take IW seriously again. I stuck with 3ark, and enjoyed Black Ops despite its flaws. At last, we have come to the not so epic conclusion; MW3. I like COD, but I warned my friends to not buy this. "It's going to suck," I said. Most didn't believe me.

    Watching the playthrough of SP on YouTube,was I was amazed by how much was stolen from the previous MW games. "Back on the Grid" alone is completely stolen from COD 4's famous sniping stealth mission; down to the script, except now it in 10x more cheezy, predictable, and forced. References to past games arn't always bad; they can work. COD WAW had a similar mission, but there the elements are far more subtle, and the game still feels original. Here they just threw in whatever they could shove in there from past games with no originality; including ruining characters from COD 4 by pointlessly throwing them in only to die or disappear. I'm also tired of MW games always ending the same. You're hurt, lying on the ground, and you take advantage of a distraction to kill your foe. All this was cool in COD 4, but it's not original anymore!

    I havn't even touched the MP yet; what a disaster that is. The first warning I had this game would suck was hearing about the return of quickscoping. Just when we were starting to move past that in BO, MW3 would have us backtrack to help some selfish "COD pro" make his YouTube montage. This may be a controversial topic, but it is my opinion quick/trick/no scoping is something that ruins the game. From what I see on YouTube, the killstreaks and certain weapons are still overpowered, and we all know from MW2 how much IW cares about fixing their games once they've taken our $. Map design is also terrible, and have a clostrophobic feel to them. Is sniping wasn't dead already, it certainly is now, and quickscoping has replaced it; what an insult. Beyond that, I can't say much since I havn't actually played the game online yet, I'll let whoever has describe the gun on gun action.

    What a discrace for this game to be marketed as its own game. It's just MW2 with a few extra guns and whatnot and a forgetable story. IW, MW2 was bad, but it had a good story. This is just empty. The big review sites gave you the big reviews, but you get a 1 out of 5 from me for no originality or effort whatsoever. In short, don't buy this game, because that would only be rewarding bad behavior.    … Expand

    Wow, this game is horse **** Why the hell do people throw their money away for a game they allready have? It looks exactly the same as any other crap-of-duty. How about some new ideas folks? No? Your fine recycling the same garbage over and over while still charging $60? What a waste.

Battlefield 2 is more advance then Modern Warefare 3. Modern Warefare 3 cant compete with what Battlefield has too offer. Battlefield is by far the better game. Call of Duty has really let everyone down and i think therefore they will lose alot of players too EA. Activision is really going too have too sort its act out for the next release! In my opinion this is the end of CoD and the point where more advanced games take over and for anyone reading this review, if you want too buy either BF3 or Mw3 then chose Battlefield, you wont regret it.… Expand

    Same old same old with no creativity. 3 Hours in to playing the game, I was wondering why I paid $60 for something I already been playing for the last 3 years. It's an absolute embarrassment that this is the most successful game ever.

    With so many first person shooters being released, its a tough market. Rather than buy a game i played 3 years ago, I want something new. Just as the World War 2 FPS became old and repetitive, I feel the modern warfare FPS is as well. I;m all ready to go back to World War 2 to be honest. The game has improved on things but not enough to make me want to keep it. Just more credit towards Zelda.

    Absolute dissapointment. Thats all I can say... Not only is it EXACTLY the same as MW2, I honestly think the changes they made in this game couldve been done with a patch to MW2. New player Animation, New Weapons and Point Streaks doesnt mean a new game. If you are reading this and hoping to get this game, my advice would be not to.

    not even a new UI for the menu, super fast MP gameplay... gazillions of $$$$$ have been earned and these guys cannot even get rid of the lag, or give us dedicated servers...cant even come up with something completely new...
    they cant even get a frickin' website to work properly, i dunno what's "elite" about that... i loved Cod4, MW2, & black ops, and i think black ops    the game feels old...

This game offers nothing new and to top it off they've ruined the killstreaks system. They even reused map layouts from mw1.     Feels like a $60 map pack. Close to zero adds. If you told me I was playing MW2, I'd believe it. Same load screens w/ different pics, same load out, same physics (or lack there of).

    I want my $60 back so I can buy an actual new and fresh game like BF3.

Having finished up the campaign I dove straight into the multiplayer, oh how sadly disappointing this was! As I loaded in to the first map, it became apparent this was going to be a spray n pray affair. Tight alleys blind corners and absolutely nowhere to set up with a sniper rifle, so fine me thinks it's only the first map I was convinced that there was going to be a few I liked out of the 16 or so on offer. Oh how wrong can you be! It soon became apparent that not only the first map I tried was a Rambo style frag fest full of getting shot in the back or knifed going round a corner, but all of them were. It was with a sick sense of dread I realised that I had made a hideous error and bought a bit of a lemon as it were.     70 euros for an upgrade, you should be ashamed, We are tired of the usual soup.

    Game outdated, the single player campaign is short, boring and predictable, you know there are many people who likes to play in single and so did not pay homage as the multiplayer is full of annoying people.

    It's been almost a week from release of MW3 and I still cannot log on online server of Multiplayers Game. I am a PS3 user and I have been exciting about MW3 before its release and on top of 60 bucks game, I also purchased some modification to my controller to help me better shot in the multiplayer games. Sadly, when I get the game copy, it keep telling me that "The MW3 online service isIt's been almost a week from release of MW3 and I still cannot log on online server of Multiplayers Game. I am a PS3 user and I have been exciting about MW3 before its release and on top of 60 bucks game, I also purchased some modification to my controller to help me better shot in the multiplayer games. Sadly, when I get the game copy, it keep telling me that "The MW3 online service is not available, please check the status bla bla bla". My PS3 works fine and PSN works fine as well, I can log on servers of every other games like Uncharted 3, but it's just a pain in the a** for MW3.     Don't waste money, because nothing change same graphics, nothing special, multiplayer as always. This game is just a version of modern warfare 2. Infinity ward no made absolutely no innovations to the COD series.

    I logged on MW3 and there was 300,000 players online, tremendous lag issues. I've logged onto to black ops with 400,000 on and I don't lag. accept the fact that you made a bad game. admit it. now is the time to redeem yourselves and patch the game up. and please do so in a timely manner. there should be staff working around the clock to solve these issues. if the masses have told you it's a bad game. then it is a bad game.

The multi player has terrible connection and always team me up with people with horrendous connections and rather than the specific player lagging it lags the entire server. It seems that those who play the most get the most which isn't really fair, a lot of people don't have time to play 5 hours a day, and don't want to. They need to find a system that rewards everyone rather than the dedicated hardcore. The other feature which is lacking which me and friends enjoyed very much is the option to play against bots in an offline format, this meaning we never play multi player together and therefore play different games. I liked black ops it seemed to have the right format for levelling up, if you didn't want to that was fine, but there was endless scope for upgrading should you want to. There is a reason it has a low score it's a poor game i thought 1 was too high but you can't do halves so i rounded down.… Expand

Modern Warfare 3 feels uninspired and is just more of the same COD with new maps. Not worth my time playing it and i feel like it was a wasted $60 bucks. It's too bad, cause I was really looking forward to this game. But I was met with a big disappointment. Looks like the real COD killer was Activision and COD itself.     Campaign: Wow, boring. The campaign is just like every other CoD game. Russia is the enemy and you travel to major cities to stop a WMD. After playing the unpredictable campaign of Uncharted 3, MW3's campaign is so predictable that it actually angers me.

    Spec Ops: Worthless because of the framerate problems, simply unplayable like multiplayer.

    I highly doubt that anyone tested this game on the PS3. Framerate sucks, support sucks, improvements to general gameplay are meaningless because the game doesn't run correctly. Overall, I would have to give this game a 0/10 because there is no option to rate it lower.    … Expand

    Welcome to the Madden of fps! Every year they release essentially the same game with a few tweaks and a bit more graphics and tell you that you gotta have it. And just like the Madden series, no matter how few new features there are people will still snap it up. Rent before you buy, make sure you actually want this game!

    Wish I didn't have to pay 60 bucks for this game. It's the same game, which isn't bad, but I don't feel like I got my money's worth. Fun to play along side with your friends online, but then it doesn't look as smooth anymore.

Why do people think there was going to be some type of breakthrough?? The graphics will always be similar to previous COD games on the PS3. The formula will always be the same. My only beef is that the stealth bomber looks bad and is weak. It is not worth 12 points. All in all it is a great game. It does what it's supposed to do. Don't change anything.     Sound quality is appalling. Game play is ok maps suck and interaction with objects in the map is horrible, when you shoot windows you hear glass break and pieces fly but the windows appearance doesn't change. You cannot climb on half the stuff you could even in mw2, not to mention blackops.. Wish I had listened to the reveiws and saved my $63.

    I dont understand the critics from the major companies....clearly Actavision wrote them a big fat cheque so that they would give it some sort of positive score. This game lacks everything its a COPY PASTA of MW2 what a joke and their charging us full retail price. This game sucks KEEP your money and instead play MW2........ Im going for a refund as we speak.

When you first put in the game you know that they didnt put alot of effort into the game because the menu is literally the exact same as MW2.     Really had high hopes of reviving the MW franchise. But sadly I was wrong. Campaign is just as long as Mw2. Beat it in about 3 hrs. Graphics wise its dated. They use ID Tech 3 engine from 1999. Multilayer is the same. Really disappointed me.

So I'll begin, with saying I did not have to pay money for this game, I borrowed it fromI've told myself many times, no game deserves zero. I've played video games since I was an infant, and since being an infant, I've seen the gaming industry go through a revolution. The gaming industry moves faster than in terms of innovation, than any other medium in the WORLD. To me, that is amazing. So I'll begin, with saying I did not have to pay money for this game, I borrowed it from a friend, so its not like I'am upset that I got ripped off. There has only been one game series that I've ever seen before, that completely screwed up every game in their series after the first one. And that game is Halo. Halo one is great game, for us PC fanboys (I used to be) it'll always have a place in our hearts. Then Halo 2 came out, I grabbed that game opening day, and never once in my entire life have I ever been so disappointed by a inanimate object. But you know what the difference between Halo, and Call of Duty is? Bungie (the company behind Halo) actually tried. Bungie actually tried to make a game that would CRUSH, their previous one. And you can see it in every aspect, even if you hate halo 2 and every one after it like I do, you can't help but appreciate the technology they've created, and what they've done. We are getting to a point now, where third party gaming companies (those games the mainstream doesn't buy) after innovating more than Activision. And yes, I know Bungie is a developer, and Activision is a producer. But the difference, is that Bungie's producer tells them "Make a great game", Activision tells their developers "It releases next november". So you can't help but assume the game it already going to be terrible. But no matter I gave it a chance. I myself am I fan of multiplayer, I hate single player everything, so for the benefit of the score of this game, I will not rate the single player. In my opinion, if you are buying this game for the single player, you need psychological help. Anyways, lets take a look. MAPS: Okay, so in standard call of duty fashion, excluding Call of Duty 4 all the maps are designed in a "circle" fashion. Which means that all the players are basically running around the map in a circle all the time. What does this mean for gameplay? It means that no matter what your style is, you will get shot in the back, all the time. Not only that, but the cover is completely useless being that the guns do not have any recoil. Even if you can't be seen by your enemy, they can easily shoot you through a wall. Not only that, but I don't know if this has been a common problem. But probably one of my biggest pet peeves in a game, is giving me the option of spawning into the game, I press that button, and guess what happens? I die. Its extremely easy to figure out the spawns, and sit in a position where you can spawn kill all match. Thats called poor design, and the only difference between this game and Call of duty 4, is some guns have recoil in cod4, and some of the maps are designed so you aren't continuously shot in the back (though not all). GAMEPLAY: Oh god, can we skip this one? NO?! Basically here is what makes Call of duty so addictive, here is why people buy it, and if you like the sound of this, YOU SHOULD BUY THIS GAME. Not rent, you should buy. You will love it I promise. Best feature about call of duty (in my opinion) is turning on your system of choice, and getting into a game as fast as your system turned on. But as soon as I notice this great feature, I just as quickly realize my most hated part of a call of duty game. The gameplay. Its designed, the sprinting, the movement, the recoil on the weapons, the attachment for the weapons, how much it takes for you to die; this is all designed you make you feel like you are the in game version of Jesus Christ. Let me explain; Now lets say, you are absolutely TERRIBLE at first person shooters, call of duty is a perfect first stop IF you know nothing about video games, and what it means to put care into a game. You will do GREAT in call of duty, you will be SO proud of yourself, want to know why? Because of the poor map design, followed by all those things above, you will no matter what enter a scenario, where you will slaughter your enemies, in what way exactly I have no idea. But you will do so well for just a brief 10 seconds, and that for most people is reward enough. SOUND: **** just **** sorry. They have so much money they can afford the biggest names to make an INSANE soundtrack. Not only that, in not one single call of duty game in the history of call of duty have they ever used real gun sounds for all the guns. Meaning you have an MP5k, that actually makes the sound of an FN P90. Which for most, who cares? But for gun dorks like me, its a big deal. GRAPHICS: Call of duty 4? I think the people that are really good and run around with similar Clans will do well and those average players without Clans will suffer. It's a realy shame as this might be the last time I'll purchase the CoD tile from Activision. It's funny, because at time I wish i could go back and play World at War and I loved Black Ops. That tells me that the people making the Modern Warfare series just don't suite their game to my style of play, which is fine, I won't buy their stuff.… Expand

I miss the Blops bomb RC car, or dogs. Would have been nice if they put just a bit more thought into the rewards. Customization has taken a slide from Blops also with little more than what was offered in MW2. Speaking of MW2, MW3 feels more like an expansion and less like a sequel. Zombies are gone giving way to a "meh" spec ops survival. Play wise the game is currently frequented by spikes of near unplayable lag, its not uncommon to be in a firefight and lose and then witness yourself not even facing the enemy or firing a shot during playback. Ultimately this game feels like a marketing scam with the only thing going for it is that it is a badly modified copy of a excellent game from years back.… Expand

    The game was fun. For a night, graphics are the same as modern warfare 1, survival is repetitive and is a good mode to play when the servers are down and your tired of the terrible campaign, don't waste 60 bucks.

    Lag, lack of features from Black Ops, went backwards from MW2, somehow.

    I cannot believe they are selling this for $60, definitely not worth this price. Other games are definitely superior.

    Same game. Nothing changes. Only in America do people pay $60 to buy the same game. No innovation at all is in this edition of Call of Duty. Instead of buying this game just pop in your COD: MW2 and I bet you won't even notice the difference.

    1 - This series has basterdized competitive FPS on the PC. It has hooked a market of people worried about instant gratification and has depressed hard-core 5v5 competitive FPS communities with absolutely no regard for competitive play and/or friendliness to the MOD community. 2 - They have Maddenized teh FS genre...     This is not a new game, its almost identical to MW2, just different maps, and couple extra weapons and killstreaks! They didnt fix any of the issues that MW2 had! No kick vote, player/lobby matching is so bad still, spawns are ridiculous! and full of bugs

    Played CoD2? nothing new here. Everything is the same. Even the graphic engine. CoD2 was good, but thin one is pure crap. The campaign can be finished in 4 hours with terrible story and the same repetitive strategy in every stage.

    this game is easily the most unbalanced game i have ever seen. Once again the UMP is over powered. the maps have zero flow. Sniping is the most unrealistic thing i have ever seen you dont even have to lead people. The worst $60 i have ever spent!!!!

    'Bigger' is not necessarily better. Single player still sucks because the AI is terrible. Never been more frustrated in a game before than being shot from half a mile away by an AI soldier running and firing from the hip. Was a big Call of Duty fan (COD4), but after Black Ops and now this, I won't be buying the next one if it means basically buying this one again but for another £45.

    This game is sad. They use the same engine as past 2 MWs. Its just a copy and paste, IW didnt work hard on this game at all. Theres just a few new perks here and there and killstreaks, but not much of a improvement

    I also have this game for the 360 as well an wrote a review there also. I gave it a big fat egg for the PS3. You mean you couldn't even port the hit marker sounds over to the Ps3 once again showing that you treat Ps3 as second class gamers. Do not buy this game till it goes down in price

    I seriously think I just played MW2: DLC. I'm just glad I didn't spend $60 for this game. It was a rental, and other than new levels, new guns, and a slightly different class system... it's the same exact game.

    Please don't waste you time on this game. It has so many flaws with the game play. Unless you enjoy playing against bots I suggest you find a different game that has had all the bugs worked out.
    It is impossible to play missions with a friend like advertised. I will be buying battlefield and throwing this junk game away.

Oh what horrors this game plagued me with. The entire COD reputation has been tarnished by this uncreative and manipulative money-whore of a game. I regret ever desiring this garbage. I planned to get back into the FPS genre with this game but this game has made it so I'll never return. The sad part is that millions of people thought at one point that this game would revolutionize the FPS genre. COD is only good in theory a.k.a. game trailers, not in actual games.     There's a tangible insistence from gamers that this series needs to evolve, but it seems unwarranted when it still leads the FPS class. The engine's definitely in need of an overhaul, but when it comes to thumping set-pieces and addictive multiplayer design, Modern Warfare 3 is still in a league of its own.
